My guess would be Russia is trying to break the stranglehold the men in tiny hats tribe has on the industry. Had high hopes for this one but she failed right away.
Spent the month of June traveling around southern Italy to visit distant relatives and to “experience” places that are not so much on the heavy tourist trails – a loop of Gaeta/Formi, Taranto, Noci, Bari, Campobasso, and Cassino.
I can only speak of what I saw and what I was told. Travelled on trains, busses, walking the towns…
While there are illegals in southern Italy, it is nothing like what it is in Germany, UK, and France. I was told the reason is that they largely pass through as the benefits given are much better in those than in Italy. Historically, the government in Italy has not been as welcoming as they are in those other countries. Maybe this will be changing in Italy? I certainly hope not, but I am sure there are huge pressures from the ruling elites.
Interestingly, I see many more “illegals” here in central Ohio than I saw anywhere on my trip through Italy. Why? It is simple – just look at the federal benefits they get – free, free, free…I don’t see anyone cutting off the $$$. Why? Simple. Just look at who benefits.
Gaeta is beautiful man. I live in Pomigliano D’Arco for 5 years. All of the migrants are essentially housed in closed off towns. Mondragone is an example of one about an hour south of Gaeta along the old via Appia.

My wife and I were just in Italy celebrating our 40th. I can safely say that Italy does NOT need more immigrants! Sections of every (big) city we visited felt like either a market in India/Bangladesh or a third world african slum (especially around the train stations). At least the Indians were working (selling crap in tent markets). Most of the “african” people we saw were involved in sidewalk scams or just congregating like gangs.

I want to give this a bit more context. I am an American that lives in Napoli IT with my Neapolitan Fiancé.
Fratelli D Italia was the only party to oppose major vaccine mandates and lockdowns. The first is the European Union controls a vast majority of the Italian economies sovereign debt and uses it against the Italians to purchase below market products (Italy is the 2nd largest manufacturer in EU), meanwhile average Italian salaries can not match the standard of living in Euros. Thus wealth is highly concentrated in the Northern Regions, while the South is Second World Tier.
The 2nd major reason why Italians or any European Countries can break free is because of the large Military presence of the United States. Italians effectively resigned their sovereignty after world war 2 to the USA (CIA) and the Vatican. It is well known that the CIA rigged the first election to ensure that the communist would not win a majority in the first Republic. The United States controls all European countries like vassals, and Each country cannot make up or determine their own course.
Many people here sympathize by our cause but they have been beaten down by false hopes, un filled promises, and lack of opportunity for 40 years that they are very cynical about these things.
This election is more than just us. If we are successful we can truely unshackle the chains of all these good people. A majority of them endure great hardship for very little. There is very little change that they can do on their own to unshackle themselves as vassals, they’re hopes rest with us.
Let this be a lesson for conservative governments across the globe:
It is not enough to merely disagree with open borders, free trade, and endless war. If you stand with Ukraine in any way whatsoever, it will only be a matter of time before you are forced to “go woke.”
