Two quick juxtapositions to contemplate:
Just accepting things as they are presented to be, without laying opinion on the table.
♦ Mr. Elon Musk is saying he spent $44 billion to purchase a platform without any prior knowledge the U.S. Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) was operating on the backbone of the communication platform he was purchasing.
Additionally, all due diligence that may have been conducted before the biggest expenditure in the history of social media networks, did not reveal this intelligence community operation, to him, until after the sale was complete.
Everything thereafter is based on this predicate.
♦ Mr. Ron DeSantis is saying he had no idea the apparatus of political constructs was creating a presidential campaign process over a period of two years that would require his ultimate approval and participation, during the period when he genuinely claimed to be running for reelection to be the 2022 Florida Governor.
Everything thereafter is based on this predicate.
Whether you believe these assertions to be true or not is entirely up to you.
However, with these two points in mind, what does that say about the current state of our national pretense?
Expand the discussion. I am very interested in how intellectually honest people view these assertions.

I think Elon somewhat pulled off naivety early on.
Especially when conservatives loved his early moves so much.
Blindingly so.
Where DeSantis is totally see-through for anyone who wants to see or admit it.
(my left shift key croaked so everything is lower case)
i knew about jack’s magic coffee shop long before musk bought twitter b/c sundance told anyone willing to read all about it.
i knew about rusbelt ron’s non-campaign campaign before it became general knowledge b/c sundance told anyone willing to read all about it.
that i knew all about these two points but the principals supposedly didn’t does not speak highly for musk nor rustbelt ron. they are either too lazy or ignorant to do a little looking around, reading and analyzing what they’ve read/researched, or they’re lying. since neither of them are kids, my bet is on lying.
When they get caught, the entirety of the IC, the legislative, executive & judicial branches would have us believe they’re unaware, inept & yes, even stupid. Elon & RDS would have us believe the same.
They are none of those things but they’ve been allowed to escape the consequences of their deliberate acts based on that false premise.
No more. That must end.
THAT’s the problem, “…they’ve been allowed to escape the consequences…”
Musk has long term goals. Sustainable energy and Mars. You may not agree with his ideas, but he pushes extremely hard in all directions with these goals in mind. All of his companies/plans seem to somehow align with this goal. Twitter is most likely aligned with this goal. I am not sure exactly how, but I tend to guess that owning Twitter would give Musk a great deal of leverage with the people that were blocking his SpaceX progress on different levels inside the government.
DeSantis is in a very difficult position. He has to walk the tight rope because he is not independently wealthy. Unfortunately there is a history with good people that walk the tight rope, the pull of money if you have never been exposed to it is extremely powerful.
Worlds worst kept secret, Ed Rollins was hoovering up cash for Ron from way back. He still working for Fox ?
I believe it was hidden from Musk and DeSantis hid it from us.
Separate from realizing that Jack’s Magic Coffee shop has all those government built buildings, staffed by government, providing government coffee blends, something very hard to hide when he is pursuing due diligence,
Separate from the government doing proper due diligence on the next face they are going to use as a cover for their Magic Coffee, (Seriously, think about buying one of those CIA airlines. The CIA would be vetting you. The sale would only happen if they thought you would do what they needed. And you would know who was really boss.)
At some point, he had to realize that Twitter was a Censorship/Propaganda Machine. Remember the early Twitter files that showed how each user could be referenced with a summary of which of the myriad of censorship modes are being used to suppress that user? Built to censor!
And it is much worse than Sundance described. Not just that they had to use exponentially more resources the more users they had, but each and every transaction had to be run through all the different filters. Every time you look, every time you post, each item is going through these many filters.
They couldn’t not know. Know about the Propagandizing. Know about the censorship. Know about the incredible waste of resources, computing and personnel. Know about the incredible cost that would be required to reprogram to remove these things.
But I have seen a public acquisition where the acquirers fooled themselves about what they were buying. So, gross incompetence and ignorance can’t be ruled out.
Who said Twitter resided in government buildings? When thousands of your own workforce are X FIB and X CIA you tend to look at the folks in the building, not look for people you aren’t paying outside your building.
Pretending only works when people are willing to go along with it.
Musk is a transhumanist. Musk is trying to put chips in human brains and launching rockets. Musk got a lot of his funding from the CCP for his/these ventures.
Twitter is to the US government/DNI as TikTok is to China, so you don’t have to do much math to draw the conclusion that Musk IS pretending not to know things.
DeSantis pretending not to know this makes him look incredibly stupid or like a slimy swamp creature. Either one is not a good look.
We are pretending Joe Xiden is president. We are pretending the election wasn’t stolen. We are pretending the Xiden’s aren’t the most prolific traitorous crime family in the country. We are pretending the government has our best interest at heart. We are pretending the covid shots aren’t killing and maiming people left and right. We are pretending women are men and men can have babies. We are pretending satan isn’t real and God doesn’t exist. We are pretending we can live forever. We are pretending climate change needs to be addressed so we should stop using oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy.
Quite frankly, I’m tired of pretending. It’s time to get real!!
Excellent!
Spot on Sir!
Don’t be shocked, but I’m actually a ma’am 🤣
Biological even!! 😁
Great Points.
This article supports your points about pretending or rationalizing:
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/they-must-have-good-reason
1) Ignorance is when you don’t know something at all,
2) Denial is when you know it, but you ignore it.
What I am talking about here is when you know something and do not deny it, but simply
3) Rationalize it away with a statement like “they must have a good reason for doing that,” or similarly, “maybe we don’t know all that there is to know about that.”
In order to continue advancing their illogical arguments, modern liberals have to pretend not to know things…
-David Mamet
You nailed it!!!
Past the time to get real. Maybe the information in this comment would be better suited for the daily open thread but it seems appropriate here. With all this government pretending, can anyone shed light on real time Russian activities in the Bering Sea? Yesterday saw a fair amount of Airforce tanker activity at Fairchild AB. Having lived in Eastern Washington my whole life its fairly easy to see things out of the norm. While this pathetic fraudulent stolen administration is busy spying and dictating the thoughts of Americans, Russia and China aren’t playing around. As stated above, the only time I remember seeing an uptick like this was either an air show, or found out much later there was a potential threat somewhere.
In DeSantis’ case he is just another Rubio..gets elected on alignment with TEA Party… after, he joins McConnel’s group..DS gets elected on Trump’s coattails…now in bed with GOPe..
Musk is to smart and has been around too long NOT to have known all about government connections..
So I don’t “pretend “ anymore… it’s all theater, orchestrated by China etc..
🇺🇸💪😀👍
I’m not pretending anything.
Short of an actual revolution there isn’t a whole lot to do except boycott, protest, educate people on the truth, and get involved in voter integrity projects.
Most everyone on here isn’t pretending either. It’s the 81 M🙄 (snarky giggle) Joe Xiden voters that we have to convince to stop pretending! Oh and don’t forget all the 3 letter agencies, PACS, donors, contractors, politicians, rinos, and media, we have to convince, too. 😵💫
Musk may have thought Twitter was only cooperating with government’s demands. He may not have realized that Twitter was a public-private partnership with Government having more control than their private partners.
It is for me it insane that DeSantis who is the pivotal character in the whole operation didn’t realize what it was all about. It is not even a rational idea. The idea that a person could be used as a tool by big monied interests and still be in a daze about what was going on around him and yet perfectly act out his part, is unfathomable. Are we suggesting DeSantis is another Biden?
Not only that but do we want someone this dumb leading our country? If this were true, DeSantis would be much more oblivious to what’s going on than most of the country.
A mental match for Fetterman.
My question is why did neither of these smart cookies read Sundance?
Musk is a government controlled entity, just like Jeff Bezos.
Musk at the very least bought Twitter (likely at the behest of the US govt using perhaps $44m of taxpayer money) to open the closed accounts of Trump supporters, vaccine critics, Ukraine critics, LGBTQ critics, pedo critics, so these individuals could continue to post on their accounts which were previously closed which the FBI/IRS could no longer monitor. Now these account holders have access to their account and the FBI/IRS can now monitor to eventually do harm to these people. Maybe there is software already out to start ranking clandestine social credit scores on the population.
I suspect there were other reasons why Musk was cajoled by the govt into buying Twitter. Nothing is ever as it appears and we don’t know the whole story. But the public is naive and easily duped into thinking he is a good guy.
Musk is very clever with his media PR and is definitely not your friend.
If Elon is being truthful he has a non disclosure lawsuit.
If DeSantis is being truthful he can’t be sued.
Al Franken wrote that book “Lies and the lying liars who tell them” and he was elected (selected?) Senator until even the Democrats got tired of his “handy” jokes.
I think it is more than likely no disclosure from Twitter but Ron does not get the benefit of the doubt. He was planning to run the whole, time and the governorship was a stop gap for him.
Hmm-job: Maybe we’ve finally moved on from old-school/new-school to old-know/new-know, from one doesn’t know what one doesn’t know to one knows what one doesn’t know. Who knows?
You are not CEO of a technology company that is charged with classified rocketry for the military and not possess the requisite security clearances to buy a company that the IC is heavily involved in, if not in fact were the “owners” who sold it to him. I’m sorry but he’s just as complicit in his administration of the “magic coffee shop” as Dorsey was (unless both are like Flounder was in Animal House–fat, dumb and stupid.)
DeSanctimonious is another one cut from that bolt of cloth.
Put another way, both are micturating on our legs and assuring us that it’s raining.
Musk is the “front man” for his many businesses and is not running the show.
Yes
Flounder was fat, drunk and stupid, for the record, and didn’t Bluto become a Senator? LOL
They both knew.
DeSantis ‘not knowing’ is nothing new. It is/was predictable.
Musk ‘not knowing’, I don’t know. 🤔
They are both employed by the billionaire class, policed by da gubmint, funded by us.
if Musk knew, why would he do what he has done since — Twitter files, feigning ignorance? if this is not well-explained, it argues that he did not know
I’ve always felt that the files were ones that he fed Taibbi and the others just after they were fed to him by his “staff” of former IC operatives that populate the company at that moment. Plausible deniability….
Taibbi is now on the outs with Twitter. Musk tweeted he was a liar.
Please elaborate…
Please try and keep up.
Elon Musk Calls Matt Taibbi a Liar – Substack CEO Responds, Defending Taibbi – The Last Refuge (theconservativetreehouse.com)
“…did not reveal this intelligence community operation, to him, until after the sale was complete.”
Where does he say that? I suspect it was a growing suspicion that was not confirmed until late in the game.
Jack Rudd:
It’s here in Sundance’s blog from yesterday👇
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2023/04/16/elon-musk-states-government-agencies-had-full-access-to-everything-that-was-going-on-in-twitter-including-dms/
Living in their Truman show is easier and comforting. We can rest easy knowing that:
The government serves us
Pharma is curing disease
We all have a say via votes
Education system is working
Taxes are well spent
Climate change is getting fixed with electric cars
When guns go away we will be safe
Kids are safe
Our military is protecting freedom
The dollar is strong
Immigration is great
To walk away from any of these falsehoods, begets walking away from all of them. Then the reality of the enormity of malfeasance becomes apparent. This cannot go on forever. There is no solution, the rottenness is too widespread. Answer: get right with God, family and friends—then live your best life. Today may be the best day left-enjoy it.
How could Musk not know the Jack system was state sponsored? All of the targeting of MAGA? Free passes to the left and BLM and MSM extortionists/liars?
Nah.
And, Ron is merely a product of his legislative supermajority.
He won’t have that in DC. He would be toast in DC .
I’m also getting the impression the state legislature is not so thrilled with his moves.
If he had telegraphed this when he left congress we would have had more suitable candidates (meaning permanent/loyal) from the state legislature, even though they are composed largely of GOPe.
He’s screwed us with this stupid crap. For nothing.
Every business Musk “runs” is state sponsored, or at the very least, state-subsidized. That should tell everybody something.
I think ambitious people are capable of deceiving themselves about the motives of folks who come bearing gifts that can make their dreams come true.
I also think people with big egos and way too much money can make impulsive purchases without doing their due diligence.
It’s possible. I just don’t believe it’s likely.
Possible… but highly improbable.
I think he’s been a very active intel asset ever since before he infiltrated PayPal which assisted in the creation of his High Tech Persona AKA ‘cover back story.’
I found it highly interesting that it was reported that he had dinner with President Trump at the White House several times.
I’ll bet those chats were very …. Interesting, no?
Google is already running this AI program. And, everyone knows who is backing Google. Now, we have learned that Twitter is backed by the government too. So how long do you think it will be before Twitter is going to run an AI program?
Now for the big question. How long do you think it will take Mr. Ron DeSantis and his backers to realize you can not lie to one of these machines? What changes will the government require by the Internet users, like you and me?
https://warroom.org/the-world-is-in-jeopardy-from-transhumanists-being-allowed-power-in-society/
It will be AI when it says there are 2 genders and there is no global warming. Until then it will be AUI… Artificial Unintelligence. How are the Democrats going to square the circle when AI says that Trump won in 2020?
One AI says you won, and the other AI says they lost. One AI say this is how to cheat and win and the other AI’s say the same thing.
Well I certainly believe Musk over Ron – not even close – Ron the politician saying “ I had no idea …” is totally laughable —- Musk a businessman being partially deceived perhaps ? , not knowing the extent perhaps ? , thought something fishy but still bought? A stretch , but maybe Musk didn’t realize he would be just a junior / limited partner to this total arrangement ? To believe he was all in and aware of setup at presale , is a disturbing conclusion < then all these subsequent ‘disclosures’ are a clever business /coverup maneuver , just some red meat for the rubes … just to give the appearance/illusion of something positive …?
And as a PS , sometimes so called “due diligence “ is not all it’s cracked up to be – often it is no more than a by rote exercise – just following the audit trail as reported , crossing t’s and dotting i’s – 100s of pages of graphs and statements etc but still missing something significant that someone does not want to have seen or uncovered … just an opinion
Whether or not their statements are “true” is meaningless. Both men have done credibly conservative actions.
Remember, the ‘Constitutional Scholar’ Ted Cruz didn’t know he was a Dual Citizen till about 18 months out during his 2016 Presidential run…..Lol, Ted Cruz…The Harvard educated Lawyer didn’t know he was a Dual Citizen…..What a Lyin’ Liar….
Neither one are compulsive truth tellers.
Now there are NINE(9) Senator including both Tennessee Senators AND 39 House members Four from Florida
Sen. Marsha Blackburn Endorses Donald Trump for 2024
As Breitbart News noted on Sunday, Hagerty’s endorsement — and now Blackburn’s endorsement — come at a key time for the former president as he reportedly delivered the keynote speech at a major Republican donor event in Nashville, Tennessee, over the weekend, in addition to delivering a speech at the NRA convention in Indianapolis last Friday.
The seven other Republican senators who have endorsed Trump’s presidential bid are Sens. Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), and J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).
According to Ballotpedia’s endorsement tracker, Trump is leading with the most support from House lawmakers, with 39 members who have chosen to endorse the former president for 2024. He is followed by Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who has been endorsed by one member, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.).
House representatives backing Trump include Reps. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Cory Mills (R-Fla.), Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), and Max Miller (R-Ohio).
Please note that FOUR Representatives from Florida Byron Donalds Anna Paulina Luna Matt Gaetz Cory Mills. This is significant because it is an indication that a DeSantis Primary challenge would fail in Florida.
Little by little and with increasing speed, the corrupt and evil geniuses are swallowing up everything that is right and moral. While we sit and talk endlessly about how bad things are and what our corrupt government is doing they add fuel to the fire. That’s because the powers that currently control us know that, as long as they can keep us talking and lamenting, they can continue with their demonic work. And working they are, as fast as they can. In my belief, God Himself has raised up this evil cabal as punishment for our abandoning His laws just as He promised he would do to any such nation in Deuteronomy. This just might be the final separation of the sheep from the goats.
Each day that passes puts us farther along the path to complete helplessness. It’s time that we either separate ourselves from the workers of evil or else destroy them. Those are the only alternatives that I can see. “Going along to get along” will surely condemn us along with them.
I recently watched a video of a street preacher in a large city trying to get to a beach to baptize seven people. The absolute evil of the crowd that tried to prevent him from doing so cemented my belief in demon possession. It also solidified my belief that a planet under their control would truly be Hell on Earth. God help us.
I do not understand your hostility to Mr. DeSantis. It seems to me he is an exemplar of doing everything right. But I haven’t been reading your blog for quite a while not since you thought you could influence John Durham’s investigator to do an honest investigation. So I’ll just continue to watch & admire the Florida Governor on my own.
Well Bless your Heart. Please return when you finally figure it out.
Admire what? He ran for re-election lying to voters that he would be governor for 4 years if re-elected.
He got played by Disney and the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
He has spent far more time out of Florida than governing since his re-election.
Ken Griffin, his biggest billionaire donor, said in an interview that DeSantis owed him and would make him Treasury Secretary. Just what we need, another Wall Street guy running the Treasury Department.
He’s just another political hack with a big ego shilling for fame and wealth.
Both DeSantis and Trump lie about things. Trump did not “rebuild the military” in a mere four years.
General Milley was in contact with his Chinese counterparts to obstruct President Trump.
Trump certainly gave the military enough money for the military to rebuild itself. But they pissed it away.
One quarter of a trillion dollars x 4 years of the Trump administration.
We have overpriced new fighter jets that live in hangers because for every hour flown they need at least 4 hours of maintenance, we have no hypersonic missiles, the Patriot missile system is old, obsolete and doesn’t work very well (couldn’t defend the Arabic oil fields from bombing by the Houthis).
There is no excuse for this condition despite plenty of funding being available. I am sure Trump is very disappointed in them.
The only good that’s come out of the Ukraine war is the knowledge that our weapons systems are under built, over promised, and grossly inadequate.
And outrageously expensive for what you actually get and how they perform.
Russia is light years away from us in every way. They jam our missile systems in Ukraine, they use powerfully and effective glider bombs, their missile defense system is second to none and even deters hypersonic missiles, and their nuclear sub missiles can create radioactive tsunamis.
Not bad for a gas station operation.
DeSantis is a phony
President Trump is not
and do you have insider knowledge about the build up of the military?
Mr. Musk recently claimed (in jest), when he was asserted to be a “great businessman ” by Tucker Carlson to have turned a 44 billion dollar company into a 22 billion dollar company.
If true, where is the lawsuit? That quite a bit of coin to lose.
He either knew and wanted to profit off the government or didn’t know and saw a profit to be made with free coffee.
The alternative is he is there to mitigate the blast zone.
When it’s taxpayer money it doesn’t matter to him. Obviously $22m just got laundered.
I’m not aware of any smoking gun that discounts their claims, but circumstantial evidence and our cynicism would have us believe both are lying. Musk is the modern day Howard Hughes. DeSantis is arguably comparable to Nixon. However, I am willing to give Musk the benefit of the doubt more than DeSantis. I think Musk has a perception of the world that is generally empathetic to the human condition, but to us outwardly looks naïve. I also suspect that Musk was thinking of what he can do with Twitter as a technology for his business interests, not necessarily governmental involvement or the societal impact of his purchase. I’d like to think someone warned him, I wouldn’t have trusted Jack Dorsey to do it, and maybe he ignored it or downplayed it to justify his interests. I don’t know Musk, but I think I understand people like him. When Musk asks a question or makes a statement, you might want to ask what he’s really getting at, and it’s probably one or two steps removed from his actual interest.
I don’t think DeSantis takes a dump without 5 consultants and polling data. But I don’t think he’s dumb like a Buttigieg, nor necessarily adverse to an America First agenda. I think he’s spent a lot of his life as the advisor, not the advisee, or where the buck stops. And sometimes, when you are high on your own supply, and you don’t have a lot of experience making decisions at a certain level, people can pressure and mold your initial thoughts and actions. Particularly if you are a consensus decision maker. Sometimes that leads to regret, and other times people self correct. I think he knows he got out over his skis, but wants to save face. Maybe.
Again, I don’t know either man.
Musk is no HH. Not even close.
Musk is P T Barnum. Without the government Musk’s empire would collapse tomorrow. DeSantis is just another politician trying to get filthy rich in a hurry. DeSantis is not America First.
As far as Musk goes, I believe him and most people have no idea about the absolute corruption of power. “They” create silos for a reason.
Musk dumped all of his eBay purchase of PayPal money into Tesla and Space X knowing he could very well lose it all. I believe he does not care about politics, just about getting things done. He just works all the time.
He saw the purchase of Twitter as a way to accelerate achieving his concept behind x.com – a financial services company that works around big, stupid banks.
I think he genuinely thinks bankers and a lot of financial industry people are stupid (in the Elon Musk biography by Ashly Vance she talks about Elon’s experience as an intern for a bank in Canada- he found that the bank could literally make 10’s of billions of dollars invest in certain South American countries because Uncle Sam back the debt at a value well beyond what it was trading by for, the higher ups declined because they had been burned in the past). He had a vision for what x.com could be way back when blackberry’s were cool.
He vision to see what is possible is far beyond most.
I also genuinely believe he wants the best for everyone, that’s why he pro-family and pro-cheap oil, he knows we need cheap oil for economic reasons.
The Dems have moved so far left that most Americans are on the “right”, it just depends on how far.
I think Musk had some concerns or thoughts about it, but I’m not sure he could have found how deep the government was in Twitter before the purchase was completed. I’d suspect there were things that were hidden from his team during diligence, and frankly, still may be hidden.
that said, I still don’t understand why the DS allowed the Twitter sale to go through in the first place, recognizing that most of this stuff could/would be found over time and that at best, Musk was only partially controllable?
I’ll withhold judgment on Musk for now. If he knew what he was getting into, I don’t think he would have risked as much of his net worth as he did (unless maybe one of his major backers was the IC itself, through a shell org.)
If he did his due diligence, then he should have at least suspected the employees were a wretched hive of scum and villainy and dug extra deep.
Perhaps he trusted his bestie Magic Jack a bit too much.
But would he have gone through this ordeal just to then literally open the files to Taibbi and the others (what happened to them?), exposing to the citizenry the perfidy and treachery of the Intel Community and the rest of the Brandon admin? Why did they let him do that, instead of Epsteining or Breitbarting him? Is this some way to let it all dribble out slowly so it won’t seem so bad when Jordan and Comer, et al, finally expose what they find?
As for Desantis, he and his handlers have been around politics long enough to know how a presidential campaign is run, non?
Yes, let’s all pretend Mr Musk is in a sanitary bubble that just fell off the back of an interstellar turnip truck.
There’s no way Musk didn’t know. I think he made his fortunes working with the deep state govt.
He’s one of them.
Governor DeSantis, he has all the right yale credits and from what little I’ve read, seems like he was fast tracked through the jag corps, wasn’t a great congressman measured by his voting record, had a younger sister engaged to a bloke in the financial quagmire known as the British Crown, and kind of just died with little or no fanfare from an embolism on a sketchy ME report, ran for governor and by most accounts would never have won over Gillum (what a beaut he is) without the president’s help.
Oh, and his beautiful wife thankfully made one of those miraculous recoveries from cancer that most of my friends never benefit from, but it seems like people like Larry hogan and soon to be Jamie ratskin do. Usually in the short span of what seems like ten months or less.
So yes, I’m sorry, but I think he is one of them too.
I believe that DeSantis became aware that he was being manipulated pretty quickly even if he wasn’t quite certain in the beginning. Now he’s just being disingenuous. After all, it’s not very hard to lead someone to do the exact thing that he already desperately wants to do anyway.
In the case of Musk, on the other hand, I completely believe that he was misled by the very employees who should have been obligated to be completely candid. It’s not surprising that all of the info that should have been disclosed to Musk was either held by agents and employees of the various governmental Intelligence Agencies (and subject to threats of extreme punishment) or the normal employees who were hit with “National Security Letters” threatening them with retribution.
In Due Diligence all you can do is demand answers and documents. If the target simply lies and/or forges documents then you have no way of knowing anything to the contrary. If it was all done under the umbrella of National Security how are you going to get Justice? What’s the Latin phrase for “The Law Is What I Say It Is”?
DeSantis is a straight-up liar. He benefits from the lie.
Musk could be lying, but it’s hard to see the benefit to the lie for him. I think it’s very likely the IC “ownership” is cleverly hidden inside a maze of contracts. Twitter refused to disclose a large amount of info to Musk presale. There is clear benefit to the IC to keep this quiet.
It’s easy to spot the one as a liar. If someone can identify the clear benefit to Musk for lying about knowing, I can be convinced his character is equally low to DeSantis.
The other thing I’d suggest is that Musk has enormous FU wealth that DeSantis doesn’t. The idea he’s beholden to anyone based on how he got wealthy is thin.
Finally, the question in my mind is: why now, and why Tucker.
No one knew the extent of government involvement with Twitter.
DeSantis is not running (he can’t defeat Trump in the primary) unless Trump is FORCED out.
In the realm of American politics there is little to no truth spoken in Congress or in State/local government. Truth isn’t flexible, changeable, having different viewpoints it’s immutable like its origin the God of the Bible and his Son. That’s why President Trump’s campaign was exceptional he wasn’t a politician but he was running for the Presidency telling truths that We The People all knew were true but other politicians were unable to speak because of limitations placed on them by their donors. Propaganda by its very nature has no truth to it and is the main language spoken today by politicians of both parties and the media.
Ron DeSantis is a pure American bred politician and truth will only be used when outed/advantageous/convenient as allowed/approved by his donors. Truth denied, unspoken, buried or ignored is just replaced by propaganda.
Elon Musk is an entrepreneur not a politician. To me it’s difficult to understand how due diligence performed on Twitter by Musk’s financial advisor’s would be sophisticated enough in spy methods to figure out how involved “the U.S. Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) was operating on the backbone of the communication platform he was purchasing.” Having said that there were probably some red flags raised during the process that did not rise to the level of walking on the deal. How much ego was involved I don’t know. But Elon Musk has thrown a stone at the IC hornet’s nest inside Twitter and he best be careful! “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.” Musk knowing that has allowed them to filter his responses to the public. Partial truths, partial propaganda seems to be his way forward as of today.
Musk: seems far fetched. But if Musk speaks the truth, then perhaps an action for active concealment of a material fact rising to the level of fraud might be a cause of action he could pursue.
Regarding DeSantis: no way! Lies and more lies.
It’s unlikely I would ever have enough info to create an opinion with regards to Mr. Musk. At least he’s putting it out there.
As far as DeSantis, and myself living in FL, over 25 years, I find him to have some things beneficial to the state (opening quickly during covid, open carry)) somethings that are really bad for the state (insurance), and many things that got great press but later fell through (Disney/Reedy Creek). He’s been a fair Governor that hyped his achievements, hides his negatives well, and keeps very quiet when his achievements fall through). In this way he’s a slightly above average retail politician. Beyond that, the money that’s behind his clandestine presidential campaign is everyone we’ve voted against in the past and it sickens me that he’s their puppet. On top of that, the fact that he’s running against Trump and refusing to admit it totally sickens me. You basically have DeSantis, Haley, Scott and Pence waiting for Trump to be told he can’t run if one of these fake lawfares happens to stick.
But I do accept that every Presidential cycle, the dynasties get to duke it out. It’s how it was designed.
We still have a big problem with “who” counts the votes, and an RNC pos who’s had lots of work done on her face…
Elon’s Twitter in that light is Prague Spring; or Mao’s Let 100 Flowers Bloom.
The liberalization of Twitter is a tactic to draw MAGA and the right out into the open again, so they can be surveilled. Not a lot of intelligence value eavesdropping on their own side.
Also, if Musk can actually take that massive financial sinkhole and make it a break-even proposition (or close) that is an added benefit. Make the people pay for the spy apparatus that surveils them.
thank you…. i have been saying all along that musk, dorsey, and zuck all work for the gov and are fully aware of whats going on…they are damage control one way or another…..with all the revelations musk has brought about he should have a target on his back from our agencies…..and the financing for twitter was never really discussed, where did all the billions come from…..and how does one guy get to control the internet from space…..dorsey and zuck have been moved out of harms way for now….
Both of these characters are deeply and inextricably connected to the pilgrim’s society. do a deep dive into american intelligence media and they will lay out exactly what sundance is pointing at. you won’t like it but you will be sadder but wiser.
I think that Elon knew and knows much more than he lets on. All of his largest endeavors are subsidized and/or directly linked to the government. Twitter was already exposed to some extent. Putting Musk’s smiley face in front of it, and letting just a little dirt out into the sunlight says “See, Elon found those bad guys and kicked them out. Everything is AOK!”. There is still an existing portal directly to the feds that hasn’t hit a bump in the road. I don’t trust him.
DeSantis has done great in FLA, but he’s a newbie with a chance to stick his toe in the big pool. I can’t tell if he can feel the yoke of control yet, or how much control he would willingly relent to get in on the adult swim.
The more I read, I am realizing how little I knew of DeSantis’ history. With that in mind, he’s most likely all in for the ride.
Mr. Musk is part of the Fourth Branch of Government. Were he not, he would not be able to show the extent of the surveillance going on – still – on Tweeter. He is a decoy for the IC. All the protestations about not knowing before the buying he wanted so badly that he paid overprice for the stocks IIRC, are theatrics. He did not know every detail because nobody does. It is called silos. But he did know enough to go ahead and buy it to calm the overexcited and suspicious dissidents.
Mr. DeSantis is lying and he knows that we know it. It does not matter to him because he will be President in 2024 or 2028, depending on how much the populace would revolt against the democrats from now until election day. If the backlash is strong enough, Mr. DeSantis will substitute the democrats in the White House. If the backlash is weak, the democrats will win the presidency again. If it is too strong and our betters have to use open force to put down the revolt, the democrats will win again. Mr. DeSantis need the right amount and he is working to get it with the lying and the coy statements.
Both men are a prove of the moral decay of the society were truth is not forthcoming nor expected from public figures.

Twitter was an audited public company and what Musk is learning now certainly was contained in any of the public information. I believe that no one volunteered information about the inside workings of the company to Musk prior to his purchase. Doing accounting contract work with a company that was recently purchased there are more things than what meets the eye once you dig in beneath the numbers. And this is on a much smaller scale. The due diligence accountants just like auditors only tic and tie debits and credits.
Yes I buy it. Musk a Billionaire tycoon got pissed when he saw Babylon Bee censored. Sounds like something someone with lots of money would do to prove how big a guy he is.
Desantis is a politician wanting to rise to the top. The next level was Governor of Florida. It consumed him. After things went well and his popularity sky rocketed, the Bushes came to entice. He let his ego take over.
Elon Musk and Ron DeSantis are both liars.
They both actually expect everyone to simply pretend not to know it.
Fu*k both of them; AND all the other frauds.
I ain’t pretending, and I’m done being polite about it.
BS! Good old fashion BS! People need to not overthink things. Go with your intuition. Elon the same guy who forcibly outed Matt Taibbi because substack rolled out a competitive product didn’t know the whole cot dang State was feeding Twitter before purchasing. Sure. Guess what Elon, I have a bridge to sell, wanna buy?
As far as Ron is concerned, hubris and ambition are two human conditions that when mixed can create a dangerous pit. Poor Ron won’t know what hit him when this is set and done. no one remembers the losers of history. He’s a loser. Not as a derogatory term but he is positioning himself to lose highly because the allure sent his way for power is blinding him. In all honesty, I don’t want a leader like that representing our society. Wise men know when to stay back. Ron is not wise or smart.
In my enlightenment as to what is going on
there are many more than these two –
and these two are low on my radar
i don’t plan on purchasing a Tesla
nor going to Mars
DeSantis is done
