If you overlay the U.S. intelligence leaks as a potential excuse for the U.S. not getting deeper into the never-ending Ukraine conflict we support, then the comments by Emmanuel Macron about the EU not wanting to get involved with U.S. interests in Taiwan make more sense.
On his flight back from Beijing, French President Macron told traveling media, Europe needs to reduce dependency on the United States. Remarkably, this is what President Donald Trump has been saying for years as part of his overall EU and NATO policy. However, this could also be an indication of a strategic Taiwan pivot by the U.S. as shared from the Foggy Bottom diplomats who love their French connections.
(Via Politico) – Europe must reduce its dependency on the United States and avoid getting dragged into a confrontation between China and the U.S. over Taiwan, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview on his plane back from a three-day state visit to China.
Speaking with POLITICO and two French journalists after spending around six hours with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his trip, Macron emphasized his pet theory of “strategic autonomy” for Europe, presumably led by France, to become a “third superpower.”
He said “the great risk” Europe faces is that it “gets caught up in crises that are not ours, which prevents it from building its strategic autonomy,” while flying from Beijing to Guangzhou, in southern China, aboard COTAM Unité, France’s Air Force One.
Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party have enthusiastically endorsed Macron’s concept of strategic autonomy and Chinese officials constantly refer to it in their dealings with European countries. Party leaders and theorists in Beijing are convinced the West is in decline and China is on the ascendant and that weakening the transatlantic relationship will help accelerate this trend.
“The paradox would be that, overcome with panic, we believe we are just America’s followers,” Macron said in the interview. “The question Europeans need to answer … is it in our interest to accelerate [a crisis] on Taiwan? No. The worse thing would be to think that we Europeans must become followers on this topic and take our cue from the U.S. agenda and a Chinese overreaction,” he said.
Just hours after his flight left Guangzhou headed back to Paris, China launched large military exercises around the self-ruled island of Taiwan, which China claims as its territory but the U.S. has promised to arm and defend. (read more)
A traditional Nikki Haley Republican would view these words by Macron as sacrilegious. However, finally cutting the cord between the EU dependency on the U.S. would be in our best economic interests as well. Wouldn’t it be great to finally see the end to the Marshal plan tariffs?…
Oh wait, did Macron factor in that aspect?…. lolol
Face it folks, there’s only one man in America who can navigate through the geopolitical times we are living in and succeed in putting America in the winning position against a multitude of oppositional interests. That man’s name is Donald John Trump.
Marching Orders
I see. So, the US helping France support Ukraine is fine, but France doesn’t want to help the US by supporting Taiwan.
France is a subsidiary of Russia and and China
France sees what getting caught up in US b.s. gets them.
EU and NATO countries are the ones suffering the most from Ukraine fiasco.
There is a lot of talk that many countries will not support sanctions against China, etc.
Macron is weak and will probably crawl right back to his puppet master….the US.
The EU isn’t only suffering from the totally fraudulent Ukraine farce, it’s suffering from its own leftist, hollow policies. How’s all that 3rd world migration working out for them? If there was a single America First brain cell anywhere in the globalist one world government agenda, everyone one of these leaching EU puppet countries would be paying the full price for the military protections the US has provided them since the 40s. PDT was absolutely correct in making those eunuch led, leaches pay their fair share. NATO should have been gone or totally reformed long ago. Not sure what the EU offers the US in a confrontation with China over Taiwan anyway. If the EU has the same type of military leadership like the pathetic woke disgrace running the current US military, it will likely work out that taxpayers will pay China to pretend there was some opposition to them walking over Taiwan in about 2 hours
Why would China “take over” Taiwan?
It’s a Province of China!
China is the biggest trade partner that Taiwan has.
It would be the same as if Texas ever got serious and wanted to secede from U.S.A.
Would it be OK if Russia/China/India wanted to send weapons to Texas?
I have not seen anywhere any formal proclamation by the Government of Taiwan that it wants Independence.
Or, is that just a narrative pushed by war monger politicians and MSM.
Don’t drink the Kool-aid.
Most of Tiawanese don’t care if China takes over. In fact, the Foxcon CEO is very pro-China and is running for President of Taiwan!
True! They will be integrated willingly.
That would explain the vists of McCarthy and Pelosi….
Trying to get pro American instead of pro China candidate elected.
Typical moves. And then if pro American doesn’t win…they will just start a Color Revolution.
Typical playbook.
liking 5 million times. So much more there.
For biden to support Taiwan, it makes me wonder what is in Taiwan he wants or is hiding. I have become the ultra skeptic.
I still think one of the most stunning things I have ever witnessed, is the de-industrialization of Germany, and loss of a pipeline, without a single Duke being shot! The USA utterly destroyed them and drove them into the arms of China.
No the 40’s since WWI.
France still upset about the nuclear submarine deal for Australia that went to USA instead.
There’s a lot going on here. Here are some datapoints that may or may not be interrelated.
France was excluded in the AUKUS submarine deal with Australia. Macron was and remains pissed.
The MASSIVE and unrelenting protests in France are partly organic, but not sure that external forces are not also involved in making sure they are particularly violent, extremely well-attended and persistent across numerous large cities throughout the country against Macron’s new pension reforms.
Macron may have been caught in some eavesdropping that revealed he was starting to think independently from US instructions. Then he may have been given marching orders to visit China, where he also had a 4-hour private discussion with Xi with only interpreters and without Von Der Leyen. Personally, I don’t think he was sent to China without specific orders of the US. In fact, Xi refuses to speak to Biden, Blinken and Zelensky. So I think the US sent Macron to convey a message that the US and Zelensky could not convey themselves.
Macron has made public announcements before that appear to betray an independent streak, only for him to crawl back onto the reservation later. He is consistent about that. He is WEF through and through and won’t do anything without instruction and approval from his masters, whomever they are.
I also recall Merkel’s some years ago saying the EU needed to organize its own military implying separation from the U.S. Then nothing happened.
I think this is the same here. Macron isn’t going to do anything about this and we may see some further punishment for it. Time will tell.
france could have easily refused nato membership to finland.
france is doing what it well known to do throughout most of the arc of its legacy as a nation: playing all sides.
and failing because of it.
So is the US whose government was overthrown in 2020 by computers linked directly to China.
It is the US that is the cause of the war.
No. It is a globalist group of greedy people, I mean, eat bugs?
With friends like the United States…France is better off without any help!
How is Taiwan a US issue?
What’s the difference from Ukraine?
If Ukraine is not an American interest, then neither is Taiwan.
For more than 40 years, the US accepts that Taiwan is part of China.
There is NO American interest in meddling in internal affairs of foreign countries overseas, on the other side of the world–neither Russia, China, Taiwan, nor Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, or any others.
We are deeply in debt. Our infrastructure is crumbling. We’re being slowly invaded over the southern border. Industries are dead. And on and on.
What is Taiwan (or Ukraine) to us?
Why would we instigate a World War, or a war with a nuclear power for either of those places?
America First. Let foreigners hash out their own problems.
We’re in Ukraine not to save Ukraine but to exhaust Russia so that she becomes severely crippled to effect a regime change and Balkanize the country so our corporations can rape it. Ukraine is merely the tool for doing this. We don’t care a whit about Ukraine. Putin knows all this.
Regarding using Taiwan as a tool against China has me a bit baffled because many Taiwanese have no beef with China, who could easily throw 30 million armed men into battle against NATO and annihilate our army. We’re goading China, but to what end, who knows?
I like Garland Nixon’s explanation of what is really going on:
Well said.!
I’ll bite:
Ukraine is important because Russia is at the cusp of becoming a major energy market maker..Ukraine is more than just a territorial dispute…it’s about logistics necessary to transit incredibly cheap amount of gas and oil..
Taiwan is important because it is the de facto high tech, consumer to super hi chip manufacturing dies that literally supplies the world. Most of those dies have global investors. It’s a huge amount of money…but also undeniably one of the most important technologies that make the world go round…
think of it this way: one of the first and most impressive sanctions against russia was to take away chip exports. We could not lever with oil…
and with china, we can lever with oil as a threat against it’s expanding over taiwan.
the two conflicts are interrelated.
china can get the oil it needs from russia …and russia can get its chips from china if it simply captures taiwan…which it could feasibly accomplish without military power….just a quick diplomatic/political shift..BY FORCE
so what I am saying is…macron has no leverage here…and the US only has the ability to fight this as a proxy in ukraine. There is no proxy in Taiwan….All the talk of supplying taiwan would make no difference at all.
in the end, china will take taiwan and russia will take ukraine.
russia will become a energy market maker and china will dominate the chip making industry.
all these things will happen, because there is no leverage, no diplomatic opportunities. the US cannot offer either of these two countries anything they cannot accomplish by simply exerting power themselves.
China and russia can weather many more multiples of sanctions and trade cancels that the US and the EU.
in the end, many people will suffer because we are seeing the largest transfer of power on the world stage than at any other time in history…well maybe WW2 was probably a larger shift in terms of territory, control, political lever, economic influence, and energy. Hopefully we let this one go without the mushroom clouds. But I’m not so sure about that. War is definitely in the air tonight.
God Bless America
The greatest challenge Europe faces is getting caught up in crisis that are not ours. Like WW1&WW2.
Yea, I was going to say the same.
One of “The greatest challenge AMERICA faces is getting caught up in crisis that are not ours. Like WW1&WW2.” and Ukraine.
Taiwan = Ukraine 2.0
Even our US State Department website states that Taiwan is part of China.
UN resolution 2758. Taiwan is a Province of China.
We need to mind our own business when it comes to Taiwan.
Most people..probably 99.9% have absolutely no idea about what Taiwan-China relationship is….and can’t even find it on a map.
They only listen to the propaganda and narrative that the media pushes and neo cons warmonger politicians. And they believe it! Go figure 🤪
Ukraine was to poke the Bear.
Taiwan is to poke the Dragon.
Me, I refuse to drink the Kool-aid. I have no desire to watch the people of Taiwan be destroyed.
America First!
Let foreigners hash out their own territorial squabbles.
“Nation building”, “Spreading Democracy” is a fool’s errand.
Neoconmen have inserted a mind virus in the “conservative” American point of view.
They’ve made “conservatives” believe that America should be rushing around the world with drones and aircraft carriers, spreading “democracy” and “building nations.” (Of course, the PC-Progs have added the most important issue of all that we’ll go to war for–forcing perversion down their throats).
Actual Conservative Americans, for a long, long time, abhorred meddling in the affairs of foreign countries. Specifically the degenerate European continent.
America First!
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
~ Christ
not yet,…but getting inexhorably closer.
I am not troubled, or afraid.
A part of me is energised, and I get out of bed every day, anxious to see “whats gonna happen, NOW?”
Synopsis of recent meeting:
Xi talks.
Macron listens?
Xi talks and doesn’t particularly care if Macron listens. Macron will do what Xi wants.
Macron is sticking his finger in his mouth and holding it in the air to see which way the wind blows….
Sounds to me like France is signaling to the US that if China decides to invade Taiwan, then Europe is gonna sit it out.
They really have no choice. They have no weapons.
Their economy is crashing.
They saw how the Sanctions worked for them with Russia.
It was Macron who was the most verbal about having to pay 4x more for fuel from US after Sanctions.
France has the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world.
France has a history of going its on, they pulled out of NATO in 1966 and had an independent nuclear strategy.
Even after they rejoined NATO in 2009, they refused to use their nuclear arsenal an Alliance collective defense even though they shared global strategic objectives with NATO.
Interesting. Wonder if they will leave again.
Used Nuclear Weapons.
Ditched once, unfired.
france has voted favorably to admit finland and sweden into nato.
I’m not sure france is moving in the same rhythms of its past.
God Bless America
Perhaps it has dawned on the EU that the US has thrown them to the wolves in order to shield those in Washington from their decades long grift and graft and criminality in Ukraine.
If the EU itself weren’t birds of a similar feather, with their tyrannical WEF brothers, I’d hat tip the little Napoleon wanna be.
But they are. Two sides of the same coin, an ocean apart. In any event, we are on our own, abandoned by all who recognize the pernicious, perfidious, and self interested DC infestation which has burned to cinders all its diplomatic bridges and betrayed every heretofore ally we’ve ever had.
Even a blind man could see it. So Macron may be a preening little tinpot dictator, but he most definitely still has his sight.
The west tends to think just of Putin. But he has many astute people around him. For instance Lavrov, their foreign minister. I’ve read a number of his speeches. He’s smart, articulate and widely informed. He makes long speeches without notes, and is totally aware of all permutations and possibilities world wide.
Putin doesn’t exist in a vacuum, but the west always demonizes and personalizes a single scapegoat. There is so much more intellectual, historical and cultural depth on their side than the mere image of Putin as some kind of mad man. And he’s more lucid and poised than anyone in the G7 leadership by a long shot. Not to be underestimated.
Frankly, the USDoS and Bidenoids are utterly juvenile by comparison. That’s the most troubling thing about this. We are in the grip of a profoundly dysfunctional and disingenuous cabal of dilettantes and predatory interlopers of marginal talent and ability.
They are “The Great Mediocrity” of promiscuously credentialed lightweights trafficking in their arrested development and party loyalties without much regard or concern for the trustee duty they trample with the arrogance of a distempered child.
The culture of malformed aging juveniles infesting our great institutions are entirely capable of getting hundreds of millions killed, as there are great vanities to preserve and hubris to protect.
This is all the idiocy of Joe Biden and the Neocon/liberal foreign policy establishment.
Trump actually had a strategy that would have broken up the BRICS in favor of a new U.S. alliance with India, Brazil and Mexico (recall USMCA was negotiated with Mexico first).
Trump had China on the ropes. He had close ties with Modi in India and Bolsonaro in Brazil. Trump believed that it was a major mistake to push Russia and China (historic rivals) together into an economic and military alliance.
So Trump sought to settle the European issues with Russia and forge renewed US-Russo ties through India to contain China. It was a brilliant strategy. Not too mention Trump’s work with Turkey, Pakistan, and even his hardline against Iran was having an impact in the Middle East. The Gulf nations (GCC), we’re making peace with Israel (whatever happened to that momentum?).
Trump’s ties in Latin America was strong. He had the Central American countries in check around immigration. Mexico was cooperating with the U.S. South America was moving back towards a U.S. centric view away from China.
To say Trump’s foriegn policy initiatives were a great missed opportunity for the US and the World is a massive understatement! Think about all regions in the world that Trump was making progress in. Even with North Korea there was progress!
Only with our “allies” in Europe and Asia, was there tensions, yet Trump had their number. He just needed the second term to get them right.
Now with this foolish war in Ukraine, Russia is moving firmly into China’s embrace and China is using the BRICS to establish its alternate payment, trade and investment system. China will establish a currency reserve system that will soon rival that of the dollar and the Euro.
Stolen Elections have consequences indeed.
Articulate, well worded, and wise post.
I read it over multiple times. Each sentence was irrefutable, as was the entire post.
You have an excellent insight and ability to logically see and think things through.
Economist, there is not word you’ve written which I disagree with.
Juvenile is the mot juste for this debauched administration. They are drunk on their own hubris. They move within their closed sphere. They’ve torched every relationship, confident they know best and better than those more cerebral, analytical, historically literate minds which preceded them (few though they may be).
One ally after another has had sand kicked in their faces by these DC punks. They’ve upset the whole world apple cart and all the progress, such as it is, through hard won diplomacy over the decades.
As for Putin and Lavrov…I’ve watched and listened very closely for years to their speeches. And I agree with you here as well. It might make me unpopular with some but it is clear to me who is fighting the good fight…not for world dominance, but for the protection of a country with a rich and history of tragedy and recovery, a fierce nationalistic fervour, and a Christian faith. Possibly the last such country on this earth. When one reads Archbishop Vigano’s words to Russia, I feel this is so.
I am not speaking of the United States of course, which finally has been outed as feckless, unreliable, and treacherous.
Who would trust anymore a word coming from the mouths of those in DC? My guess is now? No one.
Perfect analysis! 🧐
Economist,
Would you happen to be a proponent of the Austrian School (Hayek, von Mises, Rothbard)?
Very well said!
After the US, NATO and EU froze the bank accounts and assets of Russia, then placed sanctions on Russia using Swift, there really was no other alternative for Russia and other countries but to begin trading in their own currencies.
After decades and so many countries being subject to US sanctions….Russia and China have found a way to protect themselves and others.
Russia said it best–it is not Russia who refused to trade in dollars. It was “the West ” who wouldn’t let Russia trade in dollars.
I cannot blame other countries from disengaging from the dollar-the security of their assets are no longer guaranteed.
Yes Economist, President Trump has a world-wide vision. Satanists want war with Russia because it has wisely returned to its Christian roots. Our Deep State rejoices in having Orthodox Cristians killing each other.
Betsy, EVERYONE sees that the US is led by an imbecile, backed by racists, neo-Marxist ideologues, and ass-clown sexual perverts. In sum, we are a joke that no one wants any part of.
But very soon the world will be on fire, yet the US will be irrelevant to the bedlam. We’ll be sidelined either due to our internal strife, or perhaps by forces seizing on our weakness.
Are we Babylon, Maximus? To my eye it certainly seems we are.
Easter blessings I send to you.
Perhaps more like Sodom and Gomorrah? :O
And a blessed Easter day to you, Betsy.
That as well I am grieved to say.
Thank you, Maximus.
^^^This, plain and simple–or simply degenerate decadence.
I’ve always felt that too. Most Bible scholars believe it can’t be us, but are we not in league with most of the nations that were the old Babylon empire?
Revelations 18 below sure sounds like us.
18 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
Standing on our vainglorious pedestal, calling out other countries for decades for their failure to measure up to our supposed righteous and moral standards. That pedestal was made of gossamer thin pronouncements, Wiley, and by its nature has collapsed….as all such pedestals do in the end.
Revelations which you posted here seems pretty clear to me, sir.
I just hope and pray he keeps his spine.
And I do, gypsy…I suspect he will..
I’d kinda like to see the U.S. sit out foreign wars for a change, but unfortunately war is a big moneymaker for…….for some
I’ve pondered how the decline in the U.S. seems to have started (or accelerated) just after WW2 or about the same time as the Israeli state came to exist.
You have it backwards. God blesses those who bless Israel, and he will curse those who curse Israel. A way to know where we are in God’s timeline is to compare events to a clock: the hour hand is Israel, the minute hand is Jerusalem, and the second hand is the third temple.
Which Israel?
The descendants of Jacob?
Or
The Rothschild creation in the Promised Land?
How sure are we that the two are the same?
Think about it a little bit, keeping in mind that there is considerable doubt that the Rothschilds or their near kin (the Ashkenazim) have any descent from the Jews expelled by the Romans after the destruction of the Second Temple.
fannie…you better check what’s going on Israel these days…old henry kissinger said israel will cease as country in ten years…without US military support/$ 4billions/year and almost single support in the UN it’s kaput saaad after 75 yrs of existence…
Remember, France did surrender to Germany in WWII. France would be speaking German if not for US.
The French have always been spineless…. they side with whichever entity they think is going to win.
To be fair, the French helped us with our revolution, tipped the balance in our favor in fact. But, we have payed them back fully, two or three times.
Europe is dead and open to an invasion from anyone with a functioning airplane. It’s nukes from the French and the Brits or nothing, and they are way to chickensh*t to use them if required.
If not for the French, we would be kissing the ring of British royalty. They pulled us over the line in the Revalunatory war. I detest their little soy boy leader but the common people I owe my gratitude.
Yes, and the Resistance helped out a lot of our boys and other Allies during the last world war too. Everyday civilians giving that extra measure, often at their own peril.
And why was there a resistance in France? Because the Nazis arrived and France said “welcome”. Didn’t even put up a fight.
France didn’t have a military that could survive the Nazis. All the other countries in Europe also capitulated for the same reason, not just France, but for some reason France takes the most heat.
To be fair, after hundreds of years of war back and forth across the British channel, and havingjust concluded the larger war we know of as the French and Indian war, the French support was heavily colored by realpolitik self-interest, not because the French throne wanted to see a Democratic Republic arise as an example to the world of what can be achieved by revolt against a monarchy.
The French, though arrogant sometimes, get a bad rap.
Before falling in that trap of the cliche about the French being cowards, you need to consider the following:
In WWI, it was them who took the brunt of it on the Western Front. Their country side and towns & economy along that whole front were destroyed and never did get rebuilt before WWII began just about 20 years later. Germany was untouched in that aspect.
The loss of young, healthy men was staggering and they were unable to reproduce enough native offspring to make up for it in 20 years. It is said that average size of a Frenchman went from well over 6’ in height to about 5’7” to 5’8”.
When WWII commenced on the Western Front, the Germans used new strategy and tactics that the French General Staff never contemplated nor were prepared for. The Germans swept thru the Low Countries to the north of France around the Maginot Line fortifications and essentially surrounded the entire French Armed Forces in country at the time and cut off all supplies.
It would have been complete suicide on an already decimated male population.
Don’t blame the French people (manhood). It was their inept leadership.
Funny how those males surviving carried out one history’s greatest insurgencies in history – The Resistance.
Never forget Napoleon’s military accomplishments as well as the fact that France produced an empire great enough to cause their language to be the language of diplomacy for centuries.
You can’t blame a people for their leaders.
If you do, you need to take a look in the American mirror right now!
BTW, what Western based European based ethnic group is protesting in the streets right now more than the French?
There were probably as many women in the French Resistance as men!
You are correct. However, I was making a point about the decimation of the male population and manhood in general as it relates to courage individually as opposed to inept or traitorous leaders.
“That man’s name is Donald John Trump.”
Say his name RNC… I’m with “His kind!”
Especially since Hillary, whenever I see “face to face meetings” I instantly wonder “what did they need to discuss, that they couldn’t do by phone, email, etc?” and one possibility is BRIBES, of coarse.
Hillary logged FAR MORE air miles, than any previous SoS, specifically because she was acting as”bag man/woman”, raking in the payola.
Europe has been struggling to maintain the illusion of relevance, for a long time now.
NOT relevant, except as an historical oddity, despite their earlier role.
Still, having been roped in on Ukraine/Russia (remember nuelands “f*ck the EU!)? They are placing a marker that they won’t get sucked into further adventurism by the U.S.
The worms are turning,..
The New World Order folks have lost. Europe is trying to figure out its place in a new multipolar world. What will Germany decide to do in this new reality? Will they meet with Xi next? There will be tough times for the US in the near future. Luckily, we are blessed with a bountiful land and resources. My hope is that we are worthy of the blessings we have and make wise decisions in the future.
Taking it a step further, American is the only country that COULD be self-sufficient.
Perhaps, as a result of the eventual collapse and defeat of Globalism, America will emerge stronger, and be forced by events to be more self-sufficient?
Certainly, by THEIR actions they have cemented the reality that there is ONLY ONE person, that can possibly “save” America, if it is possible.
ONLY ONE. SAY HIS NAME RNC!
Yep, we could come out of this in a better place. It’s all up to us.
I seem to remember Germany shipping home all its gold, out of the NY vaults, some years ago.
Hedging their bets, at the very least.
I share your belief and hope.
i do not think Xi would like talk to scholz…guy who do not wanted investigate pipeline destruction…he do not like talk to outright vassals…

When our European allies are running from the USA, it makes you think about Barry’s quote, “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f things up.”
You have to wonder why the Mein Fuhirer put all his eggs in the sleepy joe,s basket?
Because Obama, in all his arrogant ways, thought he was the man who could control Biden. And for the most part he has done that….but as he said himself, as you quoted “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f things up.”
Joe has been permitted to game the system, collect bribes, conduct criminal acts with cover from the FBI/DOJ, use his power/positions to politically attack, and many other things for so long, FJB literally thought he was untouchable.
And currently, he seems to be untouchable. Let’s look at the actions taken to not just to get FJB but the whole crew (Obama, Hillary, Garland, Nancy, Mitch, Romney, Murphy, etc.): Jim Jordan- nothing. McCarthy- nothing. Any of the committees- nothing. Yet, this despite the throves of evidence.
Just look at the document issue- compare and contrast Trump and Biden. Look at Bragg. Compare and contrast Pelosi and Biden.
MSM helps Obama by picking up the broken pieces, gluing it together, call it abstract and get the sheep to buy it all and at a higher price- cuz it’s now abstract.
Just look at the recent leak about Ukraine. Says it all.
It’s good to be King Joe. It’s good to be Prime Minister while King Joe is in office (Obama)- because despite Joe’s ability to screw things up he still owns the FBI, DOJ, DHS, DOD, DOE, NIH, CIA, and the other letter agencies.
Seems Xiden & his Globalists want to make US a 2nd-tier country behind China, and eventually France. I guess Germany plus a few other BRICS (India) are next.
babe…you got it wrong….
I have said China will take Taiwan since Biden took office.
I have also said that if it looks like Trump can get elected again, China will take Taiwan BEFORE he can take office.
China knows Biden is weak.
They know Trump is *NOT*.
China knows the US is having trouble sending enough arms and ammo to Ukraine, the military paper leak verified it.
If we cannot send enough arms and ammo to save Ukraine….
If NATO cannot send enough arms and ammo to save Ukraine…..
If the EU cannot send enough arms and ammo to save Ukraine…..and neither NATO or the EU remotely begin to match what we send……
Then China *KNOWS* we cannot stop them from taking Taiwan.
Especially, they know we cannot save Ukraine and Taiwan simultaneously.
They will take advantage of our woke weakness…….
*BEFORE* Trump can possibly regain office.
Thank God we cannot send enough ammo to save Ukraine! We do not belong there. Ukraine needs to meet with Russia and solve their issues.
Greg,
It keeps US from destroying Taiwan.
What will the RNC do? Obviously there are huge economic problems that will come from a occupied Taiwan.
greg..are you disiple of uni or multipolar world ?????uni polar world is now break up….
CHEERS for ‘the Donald’!

US Hegemony’s days are numbered, our jig is up. The entire rest of the world sees the insanity that has become US domestic and foreign policy, they have watched as we ruthlessly seized Russia’s private and national US dollar reserves, and they see a raving lunatic madman bully, fronted by old overweight women and men in dresses and heels, and they are making the wise move and decision to decouple. We are the lunatic that just boarded the train car that they are in, and they are all making moves for the exits.
What is of course left unsaid is the depth of the schooling and paddling that was administered to the hapless Macron by Xi, and the offers made that he cannot refuse. With an enraged population setting fire to Paris, and a subpopulation of unassimilable Dark Ones, Mssr. Macron can but only wish that he were anywhere else than the hard place in which he finds himself.
It is also undoubtedly know by all the EU/NATO players that the US committed a terroristic act of War against them by attacking Russia, and severing trade in raw resources of food and energy through sanctions and the destruction of the Nordstream pipelines.
The US has become Captain Kweeg, losing his marbles in the search for the strawberries stolen by Russia.
BRICS, in league with OPEC/Saudis, is making wet work of the US dollar reserve currency status. I heard somewhere online earlier that one of our not quite totally lost R(INO) congressmen has introduced a bill to retain the legal tender paper and mint currency, and to bind it to a hard value in actual physical gold. Gold (Au) is trading near $2000/oz and trending upwards.
Ah, I found the link –
https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/9157
The US Federal government’s “full faith and credit” is being exposed as worthless at best, and downright dangerous at worst, and the world has taken notice. I have seen some good editorial pieces discussing this last ditch congressional effort to triage and stabilize the US dollar in preparation to remain an engaged player in the unfolding mulitpolar world order.
It would seem that our manifest exposure as a nation headed by an insane and heavily armed government could be the Black Swan of all black swans yet.
God moves in mysterious ways.
Representatives Gosar and Biggs -House Bill 9157
“This bill requires the Department of the Treasury to define the Federal Reserve note dollar in terms of a fixed weight of gold, based on that day’s closing market price of gold. Federal Reserve Banks must exchange Federal Reserve notes with gold at this price. If a Federal Reserve Bank does not do this, Treasury must make any exchange and place a corresponding lien on the assets of that bank.”
It also seems that this original bill from October of 2022 has been superceded or updated –
https://www.moneymetals.com/news/2023/04/04/three-congressmen-introduce-gold-standard-bill-to-stabilize-the-dollars-value-002717
Interesting and encouraging developments….
The question of the hour may become:
Is the gold that is supposed to be in Ft. Knox . . . verifiably in Ft. Knox?
Supposedly Trump ordered an inventory.
I think that the bill has a provision that requires that Fed perform a physical audit and inventory, followed by a report back to Congress within 24 months. I think there is great question and concern worldwide about the actual disposition of all the physical gold held globally versus the accounting amounts. I would not be in the least surprised to find that there’s no accounting for any of it. That will be forced to change under the New Multipolar World Order (NMPWO?), as it must in order to baseline the startup of a new value-based global economy.
Can someone explain what Marshall Plan tariffs are? The Wikipedia article on the Marshall Plan does not answer this question.
A lot of the trade benefits extended to western Europe as part of the Marshall Plan are still in place.

Word of advice: stop using Wikipedia.
Do that and you will be smarter, instantly smarter.
Little men always seek an audience.
It is long past time for Americans generally and American foreign policy specifically to acknowledge that while the US is Western, we are NOT European. Let Europe settle its own disputes, and if Russian aggression toward Ukraine doesn’t matter much to them then it certanily shouldn’t matter to us. Out of NATO.
AS for Taiwan, they got rich for decades selling cheap goods into the American market in competition with US produced goods. During that time they should have been buying and deploying 1,000’s of non-nuclear missiles aimed at Peking so that they could now tell Xi “attack us , and we take out your capital.” If thay can’t make that threat, why should it be OUR problem?
Everyone wants to sell their cheap crap into our market, and then when times get tough come running to us to defend them. I say enough is enough. Fortress America. Make what we need in our own factories and let the rest of the world take care of itself. Remember the instructions on the airplane: put your own mask on first.
Trump 2024
That is a classic: Remember the instructions on the airplane: put your own mask on first.
Well said.
Trapper….
Taiwan is Province of China.
China is Taiwans biggest trading partner.
US is making Taiwan another proxy war country.
Just to poke the Dragon.
US politicians could care less about the people of Taiwan.
I agree…we need to keep out of it.
🤪 China is going to invade Taiwan….I hear that and I wonder how much MSM propaganda has been absorbed. Too much.
Again….we need to stay out of it.
Exactly, China doesn’t need to invade Taiwan. Taiwan is still officially part of China. The only people who don’t recognize this fact: some Taiwanese and those who read U.S. MSM.
No, Taiwan is not a currently a part of China. Taiwan has it’s own government, its own currency and its own military. Chinese people need a visa to enter Taiwan. Taiwanese people do not want to be a part of China. Would you?
Please stop spouting CCP propaganda. Don’t forget that China was working with the Uniparty to install Biden. Why would you give China what they truly want?
See that gleam in his eye. Macron is a communist just like most of Europe.
He would fit right in with the CCP.
macron ids former rotchchild bankster…..
great! They haven’t won a war in 100 years so that would be great for their destruction and a benefit to free people every where.
Sounds like Macron is “cozying up with dictators” …
They cozy up with what they are or at least want to be.
We are not a serious country.
Shame. We do not exist to them. Makes you wonder about the bigger picture here. Everyone is taking their place on the chess board.
i saw that this morning just to see if it would be treated like Christmas or gay pride month
Possibilities:
Rats abandoning a sinking ship.
Beijing made France an offer France couldn’t refuse.
It was a French company that built the Wuhan level 4 biolab for the CCP. France had at least a bit player role in the Sars-CoV2 GofF enterprise. And isn’t Bourla a French national? Or maybe he is Belgian.
Belt and road.
Yes, Xi reminded Macron who put him in charge of France: manipulated elections via WEF (select their chosen leaders) via CCP (money and manipulation of media/votes). Yes France had paper ballots…..but you don’t think they game planned the French election. Macron was slated to be blown out. Yet won. Paper ballots only work when an election is run in a manner that allows them to work- who was counting? And how was the election set up?
Xi is reminding the WEF who controls them by controlling those they selected.
Macron is just doing as told. Xi has all of the power. Biden is jealous. England is jealous. Xi holds all cards to all games. The U.S. and many of the western world leaders are trying to call his bluff- but Xi was the one who supplied all of the cards.
Amen
I never knew that an election campaign can be run right out of a federal office building……
President Biden’s not-yet-official bid for re-election will lean on hundreds of social media “influencers” who will tout Biden’s record — and soon may have their own briefing room at the White House, Axios has learned.
https://www.axios.com/2023/04/09/bidens-digital-strategy-an-army-of-influencers
I thought they were shutting down Tik Tok
The details: Hundreds of (unpaid and like-minded) content creators are working with Biden’s White House. They include:
Sync,
Thank you, I read that article this evening, My thoughts are the same.
WTH, remember PDJT was threatened with charges for having a RNC event.
It’s Great to be a Democrat! No Rules just Fluffers for the Dems!
It wasn’t all that long ago the EU was dominated by Germany with it’s Bundesbank-they nearly even snuffed out Brexit. Then Biden started a kinetic proxy war with Russia and blew up Germany’s natural gas supply. How times have changed, and quickly for Germany. I don’t blame Macron.
It would be better for EU, if they started using gold backed currency and less costly local oil. It’s hard to take, U.S. interests in Taiwan as a serious concern given their working relationship between the U.S. and Chinese when it came to the COVID-19 and the Bioweapons labs in Taiwan.
An interesting question would be why is Mr. Biden’s pulling more supplies out of American bases and sending them to Taiwan, since it further weakens those same bases?
Ukraine 2.0.
Taiwan is US next proxy war.
We have seriously depleted our strategic stockpile.
Exactly.
All planned out- as Obama said- Change. Trump just slowed it all down. Biden has restarted the engine and skilled warming it up- he got in and put the petal to the metal.
The U.S. needs to forget about Europe given its current projectory, due to unimpeded muslim immigration and having no children. France and Europe are being islamicized and will become a third world anarchy unworthy of anything but pity. Which is just desserts given that they have used the US for protection since WWII and poured their money into their socialist programs while undercutting the U.S. at every opportunity. The U.S. needs to worry about the inroads China has made and is making in our own backyard, i.e. Mexico, Cuba, Central and South America.
FloridaFree…: The US needs to worry about Washington, DC. That’s where the problem lies.
not with neocons/neolibs/warmongers..in the helms…
Taiwan. It’s what’s for dinner.
Anyone who thinks America is going to be OK, is insane! WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK TO HOW IT WAS.
Prepare yourselves.
I hope that in the Tucker Carlson interview, he clearly states his postures on international affairs and economic reforms. And doesn’t talk endlessly about the indictment and cases against him.
The people need to hear his different message.
The rest of the world has seen what a joke we have become and decided to cast their lot with China.
We only offer War and Subservience.
China is offering peace deals. Yemen is the latest.
State Department, CIA and MIC,etc. getting upset. Peace ruins their plans..and pocketbooks.
Not many countries will choose War over Peace.
Then there are the trade deals…..can’t say I hold it against other countries.
Sounds like Milley is timing his retirment at just the right time…..
https://dailycallernewsfoundation.org/2023/04/09/general-mark-milley-is-retiring-meet-the-contenders-to-replace-him-as-bidens-top-adviser-on-military-affairs/
Milley isn’t going to stick around to take the blame for losing the next major war? Quelle surprise.
Is Taiwan re-shipping, the supplies to Ukraine? At least this would make some sense. After all, Taiwan has been authorized a 1 billion dollar supply budget for arms. Thereby bypassing the congressional authorization for funding.
Macron has had massive protests in his own Country over the last few months due to his actions alone.
And yet he believes he represents all of Europe now?
The ego on these leaders who fail their own people and believe others will now follow them is………laughable.
Peeling Europe and the U.S. apart is a clever way to bring the Ukraine invasion to an end in Russia’s favor.
I can only imagine the ChiComs stroking Macron’s ego as they painted a picture of him atop France’s return to global importance. They’ve suffered enough under the German thumb, after all. In exchange for Macron’s elevation, Macron mentions that maybe Taiwan IS part of the PRC and not worth European interest.
Macron knows Taiwan is part of China. Or, he should have known.
Good grief even our State Department website states that Taiwan is part of China!
UN resolution 2758. Taiwan is Province of China!
Wonder if Xi got copies of all the records and documents and gave Macron a lesson!
Exactly. Anyone saying otherwise is gaslighting, stupid, or both. If they believe otherwise they have either been gaslit, stupid, or both.
See the trend? We here at CTH have avoided those trends.
Thread worth reading
STOP!! These are all engineered conflicts. America is still the smartest and strongest in the room. When we get an Alfa instead of a beta in the white house the world will be a better place. Stop.
When we free ourselves of the Marxists and grifters who have suborned and overthrown our government and stolen our elections, we will be a better country and the world may be or may not be a better place, but we won’t be sending our sons and daughters to die in ginned up conflicts so the Bidrns and Clintons and Cheneys and Bushes and Rockefellers and Soroses and Schiffs can buy a 15th mansion and a few 12 year old sex slaves.
Not gonna stop. Enough is enough.
SADLY NO ONE WOULD BE ABLE RID OFF -those sooooo smart neocons/neolibs/straussians/warmongers …who make USA so much hate & laugh in the world..bobr…..
third superpower….not with macaroni clown….there is not another De Gaulle in the France…
If de Gaulle came back he’d return Macron to his bank teller window.
Macron is the reincarnation of Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Jonssøn Quisling.
We CREATED the Ukraine conflict. We haven’t just supported it.
because elensky did proclaim he wanna NEW ISRAEL.. in former Ukraine and 500+ clapping seal support it…….who care what rest of the nation think..saaaaaaaad
I cannot believe how far and fast we have fallen as a nation since Obama was installed in the WH and is still running things. We were on the downhill before that, but he accelerated it. We are a godless nation run by godless freaks.
Great idea. Now Europe can pay us back for defending them all these years. How bout a cut rate deal..lets say a 100 trillion dollars?
And Biden should refuse to be pulled into the Ukraine conflict but he’s a war mongering POS who hates us and wants to use every crises there is to help usher in communism.
Well to be fair to FJB, his returns are directly related to the money sent and laundered back. If nothing is sent, nothing can be laundered, and then nothing is sent back.
There’s a reason Congress voted not to providing oversight to our tax dollars being sent to Ukraine. And it’s not because they respect Ukraine’s sovereignty .
The Chinese might have also put a tiny bug in his ear to carry back home.
Omgosh! Sundance, I love your take on “things”. Same page. Happy Easter and stay blessed.
I was in Ft. Meyers recently and was blown away by the damage that is there. I learned that the blue roof covers were FEMA; landing in RSW, it seemed 40% were covered still and that was February. My heart goes out again, I love FL
Won’t support Taiwan, but will support the nazi regime in ukraine who storms churches, burns them down, and arrests priests. Puppet of china, got it.
With allies like this, who needs Emmanual.
Let the frog eaters hang with the bat eaters , we will be better off without the Vichy .
