With a visit by Joe Biden coming up next week, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki discusses the status of the ongoing Ukraine conflict with Russia and the expectation of this being a long NATO supported fight.
Poland is in a weird place with their internal politics. Domestically, their population is not in alignment with the leftist, globalist approach. However, for the past two years -especially since the Russia/Ukraine conflict began – they appear to be walking a tightrope with U.S. policy, leaning favorably to the Biden administration.
It appears Poland is like many EU countries in the leadership disconnect from the mindset of the underlying population that grants them power, with NATO representing the corrupting influence in the disconnect. Then again, the same could be said for almost the entire western system of government, including the United States. Interesting dynamic to watch:
(Transcript) – MARGARET BRENNAN: Welcome back to Face The Nation. President Biden heads to Poland this week, his second visit since Russia began its war in Ukraine. For more we go now to Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Good morning to you.
POLISH PRIME MINISTER MATEUSZ MORAWIECKI: Good morning madam.
MARGARET BRENNAN: So President Biden will be visiting Warsaw, we know you’ve said President Zelenskyy will also be in Poland. What do you expect from these visits?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: Well, I expect that there will be very strong confirmation of our resilience and our joint efforts to defeat Russia in Ukraine, because instead of saying, some Western European politicians say that Russia cannot be- cannot win this war and Ukraine cannot be defeated. We have to change that paradigm and we have to say, Ukraine must win and Russia must be defeated. And I believe that the words of President Biden will reassure all Europe, that the United States is with us in this fight for freedom and peace.
MARGARET BRENNAN: It sounds like you’re referring to the French president’s recent comments. Does NATO actually want Ukraine to win this war and regain its lost territory?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: I believe so. I’m absolutely sure that this is the only way how we can restore peace and stability. I cannot imagine that Putin and the Kremlin winning this war, and then peace and stability is around us because the nature, the very nature of Russia is to conquer other countries. Russia has actually somewhat the worst of the 20th century, colonialism, imperialism, nationalism, and this is- this is the nature of “Russkiy mir” as they call, and this is why it’s such a critical moment in our history.
MARGARET BRENNAN: President Biden said he believes the war has to end in a negotiated settlement that’s favorable to Ukraine. You said last year, Poland doesn’t negotiate with criminals- criminals, “nobody negotiated with Hitler, would you negotiate with Hitler? With Stalin? With Pol Pot?” Are you saying peace is not possible if Putin stays in power?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: I just came to here- to this interview from Munich Conference. Munich Security Conference, very important platform to exchange opinions today, but in 1938, there was another Munich Conference, where all the leaders of the Western world succumbed to Hitler, and they believed they- they are they are bringing peace to their countries. And one year later, the Second World War broke out. We can, of course, negotiate, but it has to be under conditions and under the definition presented by Ukrainians themselves. It’s up to them to define what- what terms and conditions can be acceptable to negotiate with- with the Kremlin.
MARGARET BRENNAN: One of Ukraine’s neighbors, Moldova, has warned that there was a plot to overthrow their government and open a new front in the war. An ally of Putin recently said that Russia should ‘denazify and demilitarize Poland next.’ Do you see evidence that Russia is going to try to move into other countries including yours?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: Well, first of all, I can see more and more provocations around us. One of the missiles of Ukrainian defense system fell on Polish territory, killing people. And this was a direct consequence of a rocket- a rockets and missiles attack from Russia on Ukraine. A couple of weeks, a couple of days ago, another missile rocket went over the territory of Romania. It was sent over the territory of Romania and yes, I do see lots of fingerprints of Russian forces, Russian services in Moldova. This is a very weak, very weak country and we all need to help them. Poland is delivering some financial support for Moldova to survive this very- those very difficult times.
MARGARET BRENNAN: But in terms of Poland, you are in NATO, so the United States would have to come to your defense if you went to NATO and asked for it. There are 11,000 U.S. service members on rotation in Poland currently, I know your government’s asking for more. Do you have any indications from the Biden administration that they will send more troops or make them permanent on your soil?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: We are in the process of discussion with President Biden’s administration about making their presence more permanent and increasing them. But- but I’m very grateful also for sending new Patriot systems and other very modern weapons and munitions. Because this is also, to some extent, a proxy for- a proxy for- for presence of soldiers, but of course, the two go in tandem. I also recall the words of President Biden from last fall, from his last visit in Poland, when he said that every inch or square inch of NATO’s country’s territory, is- will be defended, and Russia is not going to put any inroads into- into those countries. And I do believe that NATO countries, we are all very much secure. But it’s not only about us. It’s also about creating stability around us,, in our direct neighborhood. And if we fall to integrate Ukraine in NATO and European Union, Ukraine will always be a zone- a buffer zone, which is- which is not right.
MARGARET BRENNAN: You’ve offered fighter jets to Ukraine, Soviet-era MiG jets, the U.S. has rejected that offer in the past. Any indication they’ll change their position now?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: Well, like as you probably recall, Madame, there were many things beyond our imagination at the beginning of the war, and then unimaginable became realizable. And so was with tanks, so was with the Patriot anti-aircraft, anti-missile- anti-rocket system. And I believe that also with fighter jets, eventually, there will be fighter jets from the West, delivered to Ukraine. Poland’s position is we can do this, but only in combination with other NATO allies, and in particular, under the leadership of the United States.
MARGARET BRENNAN: I have to let you go, but I want to quickly ask you, does the U.S. continue to raise concern to you about your own government’s crackdown on gay rights, curbing of the judicial system, and press freedom? Or have they moved those issues to the side because of the war?
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: We have no provenance of those issues whatsoever, madam. This is not the issue of war, which actually put those questions aside. We- we’re introducing reforms to reform post-communist judiciary system, but this has nothing to do with war and other issues. We are in very frequent contact with President Biden administration. And by the way, we struck a deal. We made a compromise with Brussels, in the counter- in the format of new legislation, and I believe that those issues will- will be so on completely resolved.
MARGARET BRENNAN: All right, Mr. Prime Minister, we’ll be watching that visit. Thank you for your time.
PRIME MINISTER MORAWIECKI: Thank you. Thanks for having me.
Meloni just announced a visit to Kiev in two days. Carried into office on anti-woke rhetoric, it looks like she is the first one to successfully pull off a DeSantis.
She knows how to walk a fine line. Her approval numbers are through the roof in Italy. A remarkable feat, considering Italians have elections as often as I have hot dinners.
She was always wobbly on Ukraine.
She campaigned on support for Ukraine. This should be no surprise to anyone.
Yep. Which is exactly why I refrained from celebrating when she won.
I am afraid she will behave like most of the “girl bosses” and do the U.S. NATOs bidding in the end.
She has the eye roll down to an art firm. Love her passion. I pray she stays committed to the principled on on which she won.
Meloni had big hugs and kisses for the actor, Mr. T-shirt, at the recent EU meeting. Orban stayed seated and ignored the corrupt puppet.
I have no doubt the PM has cast some admiring glances at the stack of American treasure piled at the feet of the tiny tyrant Z.
The Polish govt is already openly recruiting Polish “volunteers” to send to Ukraine. I’ll bet the per capita price the US is paying for this is gonna buy him as many international villas and Lamborghinis as Zelensky.
These guys are gonna make a land grab when this is over. Ukraine was never a state until the Nazi’s took over.
Tell that to Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko , also known as Kobzar (a kobzar is a bard in Ukrainian culture). He was a Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, politician and ethnographer. “His literary heritage is regarded to be the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature.” — And even the Ukrainian nation.
Not familiar with him.
I am quite skeptical of claims regarding Ukraine history.
They are actually even renaming art works! The latest….
The painting Russian girls dancing was just changed to —Ukraine girls dancing!
Crazy…just absolutely crazy!
They were afraid the painting would defeat them if the didnt rename it. Close call right there/s.
Kens Russian dressing on sale at publix half off.
Lenin, Stalin and Khrushchev created modern Ukraine. All done for realpolitk reasons to preserve the USSR at various times. Stalin of course bled them white with his man made famine.
There are, and were many Mexican poets, and some very good ones, who believe the Southwest is part of Greater Mexico. I don’t put much store in bards and poets as a guide for the setting of national borders.
Correct. Putin has been clearing out the bio- weapon factories(American made), mainly at the Ukraine/Russian border.
I am puzzled why Russia does not tactically deploy the information I am sure that it has compiled on sensitive issues like virus, financial conspiracy, the Trump collusion nonsense. Surely the Russians are aware that the propaganda is not working as planned (se Twitter, House committee investigations).
Poland is working the illusion of a world that does not exist now and won’t in the future. Do they not fear provoking Russia? Do they think we can rescue them if Putin decides to roll over Easter Europe? Hint: we can’t.
Russia would be foolish to allow the russophobe pollacks to have any land
They’re gonna try but Putin may have already thought this through. If this happens, the US will use this land to move nukes closer to Russia and Putin isn’t going to tolerate that.
Actually, Ukraine was a state once before that. It broke away from Russia following the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 and held out until 1921.
Of course there is something brewing in Moldova. Transnistria which is Russian territory, is a little sliver of land between Moldova and Ukraine. Located in Transnistria is the largest armory of former Soviet weapons in the world. Supposedly, there are enough weapons for several years of war. Transnistria has a contingent of Russian troops, but it is a small number, like a couple of thousand in the whole area.
I am sure that the US and western countries are working to figure out some plan for going into Transnistria and taking those armories. They’ve just got to figure out a way to seize Russian territory and somehow get their hands on those weapons and transport them. There has been more and more talk about this on pro-Russian channels. Surely the US wouldn’t be foolish enough to do this…….surely…..but then there were those pipelines.
Belle–I have read and heard the same thing about Transnistria.
NATO,EU and US have been running around the world begging for ammunition.
It is not Russia that is running out of missiles and ammunition….
Great way to start
WWW3
The new President just stated Transnistria needs to be de-militarized. There are 4000 Russian soldiers there with one of the largest armories in Europe and they are there under a previous agreement. The Moldovan people are pro-Russian but the govt is under the thumb of the U.S.
There are about 3000 US 101st light infantry on the eastern part of Romania to take a whack at Transnistria or Odessa. World War 3 for certain.
I saw video today of protests today the people of Moldova held today against the government.
Which begs the question, who organized those protests?
Are we color revolutioning there in hopes of installing an anti-Russian puppet regime?
Or is it an organic expression, perhaps in favor of Russian influence?
I don’t think the protests are US-organized. Moldova’s government is very pro-western, but its people are a mixture, some Romanians with a lot of pro-Russians and they aren’t happy with the government’s actions and the economic situation in Moldova.
You do know that Odessa is in Ukraine , and that Ukraine stopped the Russians from seizing Odessa. ,,,,,, This blocked the Russian invasion of Moldova.
Transnistria is Moldovan territory , NOT Russian. ……. Just as in Ukraine , Russia has occupied part of Moldova ,with the intention of invading all of Moldova. ……. The Polish Prime Minister is speaking Truth. ……. The Appeasement of Hitler at Munich did result in Hitler gaining the strength to invade all of Europe in the Second World War. ……… When Hitler invaded Poland the Poles were doing a good job of stopping the invasion but were then invaded from the other side by Hitler,s Ally Russia. …….. Of course , as in the previous war , America was saying ” Not our concern , ” right up until they were attacked. ……… Later , when the R.A.F. and the Royal Navy stopped Hitler from invading Britain , Hitler pulled a sneak attack on his Ally Russia to get their oil. ……. Russia has said that Poland is the next country they will invade. The Poles already know this. ……… Believe what the Polish Prime Minister says.
Russia today is not the Soviet Union. Russia did NOT start this war. Russia has no designs on Poland. However Poland is conducting war against Russia along with the rest of NATO.
And Ukraine fought fiercely with the Nazis during WW2. There was even a Ukrainian SS platoon in Nazi occupied France. Americans are not interested in entering WW3 so that Latvians, Poles, Ukrainians, Estonians etc can take their revenge on Russia.
Someone in Blinken’s entourage just warned the Chinese that they would “cross red lines” if they provide lethal aid to Russia.
They are either that stupid or, knowing they are going to lose their empire in the end, now they are just trying to burn it all down out of spite.
Like President Trump says, we keep getting into stupid wars. We have no clear objectives and no plan to win. They are all Warpigs.
The Great Maga being against the concept of the Empire’s world wide military is the main reason i voted for him in 2016.
Yes, but Trump went along with bombing Syria on the phony idea that Syria had used chemical weapons. Sometimes I wonder about Trump. Is he sincere? Does he go whichever way he thinks does him the most good? He seems to pick terrible advisors and yet he’s a successful businessman. One would think he would be a better judge of people. Also, wasn’t it possible for him to pardon the January 6 folks? Why hasn’t he spoken out on the denial of their right to a speedy trial and the corrupt DC court and juries?
#IamSmarterThanTrump
All good questions. I would like to think that Trump never imagined that the cabal would go after common people like that but the fact is he should have known.
War exercises are going on with teams Russia,China, and South Africa.
Interesting times to follow history in the making
China isn’t going to get directly involved. They will financially support the war buying oil and gas from Russia and supply technology and chips, but that is about it.
Russia has a lot of territory that it took off China. There have been many Border Spats. ……… If Russia runs low on weapons , China will take that territory , and a bit more back.
This pig fully displays the lie of the west regarding the corrupt money laundering pit Ukraine. Why would NATO, Poland, the US, the EU or any other corrupt bureaucracy want to see an end to Russia’s involvement in that dump? Everyone but regular citizens are getting rich from the scam
Formerly free nations sleep walking their citizens into war, double quick time.
American nazi are ready to send all the pols to their death for Nazi democracy in the Ukraine, and they cannot get the taste of Russia from their mouths, American nazi mirror the German nazi as they want to rule the world and destroy Russia.
That is the best graphic I’ve seen in decades.
Great graphic.
So Ukraine says it’s fine with a negotiated settlement that is “favourable” to Ukraine, does it?
Last time I looked that included the repatriation of both Crimea and the Donbass to Ukraine control. Does any serious person think Russia will now say, “All right then. We give up. We are leaving tomorrow.”
Russia showed willing for a negotiated settlement in February of last year.
That was shot down immediately by then UK PM eugenecist Johnson.
What’s changed per the Russian view?
Absolutely nothing.
Onward…
Post Script – I have been saying this for almost two years now, probably over a hundred times on the Twitter, even well before the Russia/Ukraine crisis unfolded…. But keep an eye on Moldova. Something is going to trigger there… it has been simmering for long time.
—
While not Moldova, I do believe we have a presence in Constanta, Romania.
One of the airborne cav units is there
There are 3000 soldiers from the 101st in eastern Romania. Maybe more. There is also training going on there on Bradleys and possibly Abrahms with the Ukrainians and possibly others.
https://voxday.net/2023/02/19/the-offensive-begins-next-week/
Vox Day’s last paragraph here wonders if Biden’s going to survive this trip. Deep State is playing a dangerous game here.
Killing two (or maybe 3) birds with one stone.
No worries for our dear leader…I’m sure he’ll contract Convid for the empteenth time/sarc
This man is a liar with an agenda. Stupid with the lies he hears repeated by all the western elites and with no connection to the needs of the Polish people. How can Poland support Ukraine when the Volyn massacres carried out by Stephan Bandera (the Ukrainian Nazi hero) murdered thousands of Poles, Jews, and others?
If Ukraine is “integrated into NATO and the EU” there will be no peace in Europe because there will be constant attacks on Russia, using Ukraine over and over as a proxy for western multinational corporations and banks war on Russia. Europe will be nearly completely de-industrialized with insufficient green energy.
On Tuesday evening, Biden is supposed to give a speech supposedly directed to the Russian people and leadership. Do you really think that after the Nordstream pipeline story hit Russian media, after all the weapons we are sending to Ukraine to kill Russians, after all the lying rhetoric of the State Department, all the agreements that the US has broken and failed to enforce, after all the blind refusal to negotiate with Russia on their concerns presented in November, 2021 that the Russian people are going to have ANY desire to hear one thing that Biden says? The Russians call us “The Empire of Lies” and they will dismiss anything that Biden has to say.
At noon on the same day – Tuesday – Vladimir Putin is going to give a speech. I think that that speech will be worth listening to.
Thank goodness he is making it before the last day of The Saker’s existence (end of February).
Should be able to hear it there after he has made it.
Betsy, you can always go to the Kremlin site and see a transcript of the speech in English. They always publish Putin’s speeches in English. I’m pretty sure from spot checking that the quotes from Vladimir Putin’s speeches that have been published on TheSaker are the official Kremlin translation.
I like to see TheSaker commentary on his speeches, though, because it gives some of the cultural/traditional/historical background that I don’t know or understand.
The Polish government sees an opportunity to reclaim the territory it lost to the Ukrainian SSR following the post-war border adjustments.
The preferred outcome of the Polish government is a) for Russia to take the Russian parts of Ukraine, and b) for Poland to absorb the rest, much of which was Polish territory at different points in history, on the pretext that the remaining Ukrainian state is not a viable nation.
That is Ukrainian integration “into NATO and the EU” which the Polish government supports: one in which Ukraine does not exist as an independent state.
“The Polish government sees an opportunity to reclaim the territory it lost”
Correct.
You may want to look into Jarosław Aleksander Kaczyński. The actual leader of Poland. Per wikapedia:
Since the 2015 victories of PiS, both in the presidential and parliamentary election, Kaczyński is considered to be the most important politician in Poland and one of the most influential European leaders. For this reason, in Poland he is called by some people the “Chief of State” (following the example of Józef Piłsudski).[1][2][3][4] In 2020, he was designated as the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland with oversight over the defense, justice and interior ministries.
His brother was killed in a plane crash while flying over Russia. He blames Putin for his brother’s death. Might be a motive for the rabid anti-Russia policies of the Polish gov’t.
A little further search on wikipedia shows how Morawiecki became Prime Minister (replacing Beata Maria Szydło):
In December 2017, she was forced to resign as Prime Minister after Jarosław Kaczyński, the Chairman of Law and Justice, withdrew confidence from her to continue as the party’s lead election candidate within the Sejm.[6] Her resignation was accepted by President Duda, who at the same time designated her deputy, Mateusz Morawiecki to be the new Prime Minister.
This guy is as evil as von der Leyen, Stoltenberg and Borrell. He’s loud, a war hawk, hatefuland devilishly crazy.
Huh, she finishes the interview on the anal sex topic. Is this really what Ukraine is all about?
Weird
Ukraine is called the Rump of Europe by many.
I agree with Moldova statement.
I no longer look at the Poland government as being sane.
He did maneuver around her stupid gay rights question quite well. Kudos to him for that.
The Munich summit –very interesting. Those such as Ursula von Der Lying revealed that the first Sanctions package was drawn up even before the SMO even began.
Germany Annalein making herself a laughing stock…once again…!
Alexander Christoforu had very informative and interesting YouTube this a.m. about.
Kamala Harris is in good company.
There seems to be a belief that if one is conservative and America First somehow you are pro Putin. The exact opposite is my belief. The communist regime is in control in Russia. Ukraine has been controlled by Russian for hundreds of years. Why is any of this my war? I believe the people of the United States want this war to end but without a doubt our crooked leaders are getting us into something more destructive than any other war we have ever been involved in.
The communists moved from the ussr to the ussa. Russia has real elections. The ussa just has selections.
The propaganda that you have heard about evil-Putin is just that – propaganda. He is not a Communist or a dictator. BUT, he will not allow the west to plunder his country and will not allow the “rules-based order” to be disseminated.
The west was salivating to plunder Russia’s resources, manufacturing, shipping, technology, weapons developments, agriculture as they had in the 1990’s while the Russian people starved. Those billions from Russian investments in the 1990’s were one of the sources of the enormous growth of the US economy in the 1990’s. That greed is the West’s real motive for inciting this conflict in Ukraine. Russia is fighting for its existence as a sovereign nation. As Sundance has said elsewhere, “There are trillions at stake.”
By the way, Vladimir Putin is not only a lawyer. He also holds a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Economics from the Saint Petersburg Mining University with a doctoral thesis on strategic planning of the mineral economy.
There was once a humorous stereotype regarding folks of Polish heritage, that has faded over the years.
Their government is trying desperately to resurrect it.
The Polish jokes are going around other blog sites like house of fire right now. These people are certified crazy.
I had a lot of respect and admiration for Poland and the Polish people…not so much any more!
They should just stay in their lane and focus on maintaining their historical culture, appreciating that they actually have an independent nation.
I can understand losing respect for the Polish government. But the Polish people?
The Polish government is salivating over the prospect of recovering the territory it lost to the Ukrainian SSR as part of the post-war border adjustments. It has been preparing for what would, in essence, be a partition of Ukraine between Russia and itself for some time now.
Both Ukraine (a word which historically meant “border lands”) and Moldova are among the border regions European powers have been fighting over for centuries- in this case Poland, Russia, Romania, Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. Part of it formed the border of the Roman/Byzantine Empire. It’s one of those places.
After World War II the big powers claimed European border issues had been permanently solved.
They weren’t.
They never will be.
I hope they do!
All these western leaders folded like a cheap Chinese suit after Trump was out of office. I hope when President Trump is back in office, he gives none of these leaders any support. When are the people of Poland going to rise up and start protesting?
Biden has his Cornpop moment coming up this week. Speak loudly and carry a small stick is not a winning formula.
Poland would be foolish to trust Biden on anything.
The last time they trusted the west – uk, france, us – it was a disaster for them.
They always seem to be tools.
Biden, Blinken and Nod are burning Ukraine to the ground and killing its people. Only the stupid think Poland is going to come out of this alive.
“To be an enemy of America is dangerous. To be a friend is fatal.”
-Henry Kissinger
All the rotten bastards have their globalist blue tie of obedience on.
“It appears Poland is like many EU countries in the leadership disconnect from the mindset of the underlying population…”
Or it could be that they’ve seen what happens if America is displeased with their government or if they step out of the American/globalist order. Apropos the last thread, I’ve also come to realize that we’re quite the neighborhood bully.
Of course, the citizenry does not agree with who rules them. The same people rule almost all countries. Iran and Syria may be the only ones left that I know of anyway. Libya hung in there for a while. Israel will find a way to get us into Syria again, and maybe Iran.

Look out your window! There’s a Jew standing on your lawn!
You can never refute what anyone says. Always smart aleck remarks. Am I wrong???
This guy is crazy. He is going to get us into a nuclear war. NATO should be called the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization. They have invaded numerous countries, provoked regime changes in others, and are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.
The latest youtube video by The New Atlas goes through the sordid history of the west and NATO and all the wars they start and countries they attempt to control. It’s frightening.
Marge, I thought, sounded like she wanted to womansplain to the prime minister there…Marge is apparently letting them dangle freely…CIA is so proud of one of their own
Definitely a disconnect between the NATO warmongers and the people.
I saw reports that there were 50K people protesting.
There have been many huge protests throughout Europe opposing the Globalist schemes in recent months.
If one relies on the MarxMerdia of course those protests never happened.
Surprise! Morawiecki is a banker and longtime member of WEF. Throughout Western (former) civilization, we see these WEFfer puppets betraying their national interest for a bizarre and perverse international order that could never have gained control by democratic means.
These WEFfers have no intention of there ever being peace for Russia. Their preconditions for engagement are absurd.
Brennan: President Biden said he believes the war has to end in a negotiated settlement that’s favorable to Ukraine.
Morawiecki: We can, of course, negotiate, but it has to be under conditions and under the definition presented by Ukrainians themselves. It’s up to them to define what- what terms and conditions can be acceptable to negotiate with- with the Kremlin.
What I would like to see Zelensky sign is…..
Terms of Surrender
Unconditional surrender, just like in WWII.
Well by golly, if they want more US troops, send them! What could go wrong with that? Can’t tell the 2-year-olds NO!
It will be American kids fighting and dying against Russian kids fighting and dying against American kids. ” NATO” is a collection of gutless assholes that will break and run as soon as the real fighting starts.
Or they will sit back and receive reports and wring hands while the kids die. Do you really think that Lindsay Graham would last one minute under fire, in the winter, hungry, in a wet trench at night? But he wants Ukrainians to die under those conditions.
These armies to include NATO must find peace. The heads of all the nation’s seeking bioweapons held accountable.
“It appears Poland is like many EU countries in the leadership disconnect from the mindset of the underlying population that grants them power…” Also, the quote applies to the U.S; and, the populations’ allowing this situation to continue will eventually allow a despotism to develop from which it is impossible to recover
No, the editing is limited to sufficient time to correct errors, without enabling the altering of one’s statements after they have been engaged by others; censorship is not the issue at any level, though Grandma might rap your knuckles if you are rude.
Most of us love Meloni and hope the best for her, Europe needs more sanity.
How come the press is so one-sided and never interviews the enemy? Like Putin?
Maybe Putin knows the futility of engaging with Western media.
You may need to lower your expectations lol
honor amongst politicians is like virtue amogst wh*res
Delete, wrong spot
What to expect? Easy, more launder moolah changing hands among all the usual sleazy politicians.
Arestovich resigned as Zelensky’s advisor 2 weeks ago. He worked with Z in his TV comedy program.
This interview takes place in 2019 but is only published in English in 2022. Keep in mind as you watch this, this is recorded in 2019.
You can see that the CIA had been planning this war for many years, even before 2019 as Arestovich discusses precisely how this war in Ukraine is unfolding before our eyes. He also discusses how there will be 3 wars which mean 2 haven’t even started yet. He is cold as ice as he discusses the decimation of his country in order to join NATO and destroy Russia.
This is just my opinion but for exhibiting traits of colonialism and imperialism TODAY my first thought is not Russia.
The number one thought for me is it is the United States and its vassal states in Europe purporting the “Rule Based Order” (The US is still smacking the stick like its 1991 today)
“Rule Based Order” not being defined anywhere in International Law, but basically meaning the USA makes the rules and if you as a country do not like it, you get bribed, blackmailed, sanctioned or they just regime change you)
Regime change is actually the stated goal in Russia by the EU and in the US by admission of Nuland and Blinken. After regime change their other dream is to break up Russia in 4 or so parts and its rich resources are under control of the “democracy” promoting US and the EU nations.
I could go on but I won’t.
Poland used to be an important country and they are looking to resume that role. Only news is it’s not the 20th century anymore. Poland is militarizing and who are they planning to attack exactly? Perhaps Germany or they plan to march into the Eastern half of Ukraine?
Surely Poland is not going to attack Russia, because by word of EU Russia is weak and will be defeated. So why does Poland need a massive military after Russia is defeated? Ask yourself that.
The war in Ukraine could have been solved in 2014, at the Minsk II accords and thereafter the parties implementing the accords. Then again — after shelling of civilians by Ukrainian government in Donbass and massive military buildof of Ukraine (including a Nazi batalion) — Russia intervened and they were at the table in March 2022 negotiations.
The US (and Great Britain) walked away from those and we are seeing 200 – 300 thousand dead Ukrainians and counting.
There is some imperialism.
With his shameful stance on Ukraine, Morawiecki has removed Poland from the list of sane nations in Europe. Only Hungary remains now.
“– they appear to be walking a tightrope with U.S. policy, leaning
favorablybegrudgingly to the Biden administration.”I’m thinking that the Poles would rather the US and NATO end this crap. They’ve had a pretty good life in the days following Lech Wałęsa and the Solidarity movement, and would much prefer Biden and his cronies don’t mess that up.
Does Poland realize that the Globalists are the same people who enslaved them for 44 years??? Does Lech Walesa have a clue??? Shouldn’t he know better???
Is the thoroughly corrupt BiDUMB administration planning on blowing up one of Moldova’s pipelines ??
As someone who watches Poland and Eastern European space closely, I need to make a couple of observations here:
1) In the US at present, thinking is constrained to two camps, and everything that occurs is tried to be shoehorned into those two categories.
2) The world and Europe and especially Eastern Europe is a bit more complicated.
Let’s start with Russia. Russia is Russia. Whether it was Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union or now Putin’s Russia, it’s still Russia. It’s been the same since the early 16th century.
Russia is what is known as a “land empire”. It has no economy per se, outside of digging stuff out of the ground and selling it. Primarily to the Germans. The one area were Russia was thought to be able to compete in terms of new technology, was the military sector. And now with their performance in Ukraine, we see that their technology is crap. And their client states see this also, hence India’s recent spate of cancelation of military equipment orders.
Which brings me to the Poles. In Poland there are two political camps at present. The one camp is what you could call the “independent Poland camp” (current government and President) while the other is what can be called a “European unionist camp”. This is the United States of Europe, governed by Germany with French help.
And just to show you all how complicated the situation in Poland is, the EU Unionists are funded by the Germans and Russians through back channels. They are promoted by German owned press media in Poland and an American owned TV station (Discovery). Now the American’s own the TV station but the Germans fund it. On an aside, the same majority German press owner in Poland (Axel Springer) purchased Politico (and their 500+ “reporters” with access to their sources within the US administration) a couple of years ago at an above market price, shall we say…
Back to current events. The Poles see Russia as a problem but they see it in a wider context. Russia (economy size of Spain) could not be able to field the second army in the world (and invade Ukraine for the second time) without a funder. The Germans are the funding entity of the Russian military.
In turn, the German economy is built on two pillars: cheap Russian energy and a devalued DMark currency within the Euro currency. These two elements have been able to make “economic sick man of Europe” German industry on the one hand competitive again, while on the other hand have allowed the Germans to melon scoop the hard assets (production) of the rest of the EU countries. (Think TPP) These mostly production assets were then strip mined, and production off shored to places like Poland, Czech, Hungary (the higher end stuff) and China/Asia for the low end stuff. The rest of the EU has been left as a nature reserve funding itself through debt.
Given the above, to understand the politics of Poland, one has to understand the Germany/Russia/France dynamic. Germany hates us. They have been wanting to push the US out of Europe for 40 years now. They can’t do it outright since they don’t want their population to freak out (US military presence does provide Europe with stability) so the Germans are going about it in a sly manner. One example of this is not paying into the NATO coffers. This is done to frustrate the US and make them leave on their own. It has been working since the US has been reducing the number of US troops in Germany since the 1960’s.
The Poles see the US as the ONLY country that can guarantee their freedom (sovereignty/independence). So the Poles will work with EVERY US government since their freedom is much more valuable than any political party platform. (Poles also have “national” character traits very similar to US, i.e. rugged individualism, distrust of authority, industriousness, etc. so any alliance is a natural fit.)
So the Poles suspect (rightly) that once the US leaves, the Russians would be invited to provide the security infrastructure to the new Eurasian economic area that would stretch from Lisbon to Vladivostok. And since neither Germany nor France has a robust enough military, the Russians can use the only “edge” that they possess. And this “plan” was/is openly discussed, so it’s not conspiracy theory.
And then Putin invades Ukraine for a second time and he screws it all up. But we can see that the Germans and French are dragging their feet with respect to arming Ukraine and hoping that they can avert a total defeat for Russia/Putin. The total defeat of Russia is in the US’s best interest! Geographic stability and all that, ya’know…
In the mean time, as Poland is supporting the Ukrainians in the war, while Germany is waging an economic war on Poland. Poland is increasing its military spending and taking in large amounts of refugees while the EU is withholding funds to Poland to which it is entitled to. The EU (Germans) are trying to topple the current government of Poland like they did to the Berlusconi gov in Italy in 2011 and the Salvini/5Star in 2019. Given this, it is no wonder that the Poles are fighting for their independence from both the Russians and Germans and the only way to do this is to help Ukraine and eventually lead them into NATO and the EU.
Which brings me back to history. The Russians have been fighting and occupying the region since the 1550’s. The playbook has been the same. First they invade, then they expel the local populations to the other side of the Urals and then with time they Russify them. We see this happening in the captured parts of Eastern Ukraine right now. If the Poles don’t help the Ukrainians win this war, they will be next. And the reason that they will be next is that the Russian capturing the entire Ukraine doesn’t solve their “problem” since they have to control the Polish plain (on the Vistula River) and the Bessarabia Gap in present day Moldova. This is the minimum position that the Russians was aiming at. And the Poles along with all the geo-strategists know it.
And how do they know this?
Because the Russians have been using the same playbook since 1550’s.
Hopefully this give some insight into what is happening…
Could one say that Oregon Counties looking to annex to Idaho maybe be fundamentally similar to Russia and Ukraine from populous point of view.
Gay Rights? The man is talking about trying to avoid an invasion by a foreign government who is hell bent on recreating its former empire! But, this simp is concerned about drag queen brunch.
These people in the Corporate Media are making the United States the laughing stock of the world!
“The very nature of Russia is to conquer other countries.” It would be nice if NATO leaders would make the effort to move into the 21st century.
The U.S. NATO have been the ones in the last forty or so years whose “very nature is to conquer and subdue other countries.”
Wise up Poland. It is you who are now supporting murderous tyrants.
American neocons like Anne Applebaum, who’s husband Rikorski, is a Polish official, have been working behind the scenes in Poland, just like Ukraine, for years.
