Let me qualify this post and question by saying this is something I have wanted to ask and write about for quite a while. I often ask this question to people I meet in general life discussion, and I am very interested to hear every response. Today is a great day to ask this…
Think back… So, you are living your life, doing what you and everyone familiar to you are doing in the ordinary and regular way of living your specific life.
Perhaps you paid some attention to the political comings and goings of things, perhaps not.
Perhaps like most comfortably invisible people you were just putting one foot in front of the other, and generally doing the day-to-day things that most would consider ordinary.
Then one day, for some unknown and likely not that consequential reason, something caught your attention. Something piqued your curiosity; perhaps you noticed something you wouldn’t ordinarily have noticed. Perhaps you heard something, or saw something, or were just in a situational space where something itched your brain as you looked at something, heard something or noticed something that just didn’t quite fit or sit right.
Perhaps that little something, or big something, caused you to look just a little bit closer at the story, event or moment with a little more curiosity than before. Perhaps you dug into that specific moment with a little more than a side-eye glance, and you noticed something. After looking at it a little closer, you realized that construct was not at all what it appeared to be on the surface.
From that moment forward, for the first time, you really started to question the ‘thing’ that was in front of you, and from that moment forward, you woke up to recognize that things around you, things you perhaps didn’t pay attention to before, were not what you thought they were. It was from this moment when you really started to pay attention and your political awakening began.
Question: When was that moment for you?
I am always amazed at the replies I get in real life to this question of when the individual awakening began.
For some it was at an early age, for others much later in life. For some it was recently, and for others it was a long time ago. However, for everyone there was that moment when it started, and it is completely unique to the individual.
So, on this day, Sunday February 19, 2023, a generally innocuous day in the grand scheme of things, I pose this question to everyone.
Yes, even all the CTH lurkers who read here and never join the conversation. The comment section is open for all replies with the general rules of on-line decorum still standing. Us old schoolers still use the early internet standards of on-line discussion, and CTH requests polite and civil conversation that enlightens, expands thinking and uplifts the audience.
I am genuinely curious and will be reading every reply because it’s really cool to see what that “moment” was for each person. I’m pretty sure the entire CTH community will also enjoy reading the unique replies to the question.
We all travel a different path. We all come from different, likely comfortably invisible, life experiences. And we all merge into this big melting pot of curious people who are looking deeply at the issues we face. Regardless of how each of us arrived here, the larger dynamic is that we likely share a common curiosity for the reality of our situation. It’s a safe bet to say that almost everyone reading this is in the top-tier of “high information” consumers.
My question is not what arrived you at The Conservative Treehouse, but rather what the moment was when you began looking around and realizing that things just didn’t seem to add up. That’s the origin of the journey. That’s the moment I am inquiring about.
Perhaps it’s a weird way of looking at CTH, but our fellowship is always what has been the most important aspect to this little corner of the internet. It’s not the content of the Treehouse, but the conversation on the porch that matters. You, the readers, friends, people who assemble here, are the important element. Not me and not the site admins.
That’s genuinely the way I have always looked at our fellowship, and that’s also the reason for every detail I put into keeping this little corner of the internet standing.
So, with that in mind, what was that moment in your life when you realized the social, political and/or media narrative, was not at all what it was presented to be?
Love to all,
~ Sundance

If I’m really honest, the answer will probably get eye rolls from many folks around here.
It was in high school, when I learned about some of the terrible cruelty involved in factory farms. The reason I call this a political awakening isn’t because I was young and wished everyone would be vegetarian. It was what I saw about people — how they lied to themselves and spouted platitudes because it was more comfortable. I was genuinely surprised by the extent to which the torture is hidden from a public that doesn’t really want to know anyway. People would rather buy their packed meat at the store and not think about it.
It was an early glimpse of a mass cruelty that many people either deny, ignore, or lie to themselves about – and anyone who DID express sadness or concern about it was scorned.
It made me resent group think and see nonconformity as a virtue. It made me distrust not just the ones pushing propaganda — but the ones wanting to believe it, too.
I’ve had a few “awakenings” over time but that was probably the first.
It was in high school. Guy in my civics class refused to pledge the allegiance. The teacher pull him out of the class and grab me to witness. Teacher dress him down then turned to me and asked what I thought. I replied freedom is a choice and he chooses not to. Teacher paused and replied good answer.
Went on to serve my country. Two laps and a 5 day war under my belt, then put over the mortar tube. So I know a bit about what government does when they do math.
The political awaking was 2015 and googling why 16 Republican candidates which lead to CTH and getting schooled on the splitter strategy. Been here ever since.
Today I’m torn between doing the work or just stand back and watch what will become of a great nation.
Old school here and am grateful for this place and the motto, “Seek to understand before trying to be understood”.. It encourages the quiet voices to speak up. I will always comment but the quiet ones, be very careful.(9-))
I worked on George the Second’s campaign driving a van and door knocking. Colorado elections for governor and President were decided by 10,000 votes and the hardest working “team” at get out the vote won. Yard signs were the real polling not what 500 people told random callers.
When BHO came to Colorado to celebrate his win, with 200k vote margin , I tried to describe to non-math people the trouble that had been created with infinite ballots. The Greek columns that were made of fake foam for TV said everything in metaphor. Grand but fake. We’ve been living that life ever since.
I took an Etch-a-sketch as a state delegate to indicate just how solid Mitten’s positions were and we elected someone that said the right things but then handed the nomination away for $3 million payment on his campaign debt. I learned almost anyone can be bought.
I still haven succeeded in getting the establishment in Colorado to wake up. The 2020 election had 4-5 Standard Deviations increase in voter participation. Never happened before and happened now because there was a 50 mile Trump Train around the outer loop of Denver.
The RINO explanation for the new votes was all the California people came here for the pot. Well, Every one of those I know has the disposable income for not just a gun but an entire safe full of guns. Those folks aren’t voting for Dems.
I started writing and did about 50 articles at REDSTATE before they banned any mention of The Donald. I had come from Ted Cruz to understanding that The Donald was the only choice to avoid the John McCain, thumbs-down uniparty that thought the blessing of Sheldon Addelson was a good thing. I landed here and found Treepers. Its the first site I open each morning. The picture on my ID is one posted regularly by Sundance. I’m working on my river complex right now.
I’ve struggled with how this gets fixed, both Colorado and for our Nation, without shots being fired.
We have to support people that want the folks of West Palestine, Ohio to succeed more than the billionaire class. The people that created a toxic wasteland for at least a few years, if not a lifetime, so the company could put tracks down!?! They need the same kind of life long consequences they have dealt out. I’m encouraged the JD Vance showed up before the EPA. Thats the kind I’m looking for!
What politician is standing for the unheard? There is only one. The Very Presidential Donald J Trump.
I gave a history of the progression but didn’t include the moment.
My family was southern Democrat and we had moved to Colorado for the AFA. I voted in my first election for Jimmy Carter with the mushroom clouds commercials in the back of my head. I registered for the draft the year before and going to war was something I was afraid of because of what Vietnam had done to my dad.
I couldn’t believe how good a President Ronald Regan was and how mislead I felt by all the information I’d been given about him ending the world. I’ve looked for independent sources of information ever since and this is a great one.
Sundance, please make this thread permanent on the side board! You have collected the political stories of so many.
“Meet the Treepers”
2018, after having my 1st child. I went down a rabbit hole on vaccines. Something told me not to vaccinate my baby, until I had looked into it more. The more I researched, the more my mind was opened. Then 2020 hit and I immediately knew something was not right. The pandemic, the vaccine, the election, then Jan 6th…
It was all too much for my secular brain, so I surrendered to God. The real truth. This world is overrun by satan. It’s all lies. I praise Jesus for opening my eyes to it.
I was busy with “stuff” but always voted…until I heard the kenyan talking about old cars and then free phones. I had no idea about anything but thought he sounded like a used car salesman…smooth and glib but able to capture an audience. A friend suggested I look up czars, and to my surprise they were not Russian royalty! I had recently found CTH and my enlightenment began there. I think the birth certificate issues surfaced shortly after that; so grateful for the information and fellowship at CTH.
When, after the Clinton’s mysterious doings got ignored by the media…..Hillary accurately pointed out that the Kenyan was not qualified to run for President. When the press and race baiters constantly deified the fake president as black . Everyone was encouraged to ignore his Caucasian mother.
.
I guess that time came in the mid 70’s. One of my friends sisters was dating a some what successful lawyer in n.e. florida. he had a place a few miles south of here. A prominent and respected judge had the place nextdoor. turns out that judge always seemed to have young, pretty girls over there. this man was reputed to be upright, and honest. However, nothing of the sort was true. I figured out that how one presents himself to be,is most times false. look at what they do, not as they present themselves to be.
I woke up in the mid-1990s when I had an encounter with the federal court system. I had been victimized by an elected official who was well-connected in the community.
After a two week trial, during which the perp admitted to the illegal behavior on the stand, the jury took 45 minutes to acquit him. It was obvious to literally everyone that he was 100% guilty. I was on the receiving end of two weeks of victim blaming and slut shaming by government employees who perjured themselves one after another.
The scales fell from my eyes and I realized that if you had enough power and enough money, nothing else mattered. Not the truth, not swearing an oath of office, not the law, not the Constitution.
After that, I watched news coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and still wonder if they ever found John Doe #2. I wondered about TWA flight 800 and wondered why the stories just didn’t make any sense. I heard all the stories about the Clintons and a little airport in the middle of nowhere and the FBI files and the travel office and Charlie Tree and Sect. Brown and Vince Foster & so much more.
For a long time, I still thought the Republicans were the good guys. Then came 9/11, and Ron Paul warning us about the PATRIOT act. At that point I realized there were no good guys left in America. Except possibly for Ron Paul.
I ended up in the media and communications industry. I understand how something gets on the news or in the newspaper. I can see an influence campaign from a mile away because it used to be my job to manufacture news.
Covid coverage was an influence campaign, but they didn’t bring out the big guns until they went after hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. They saved the biggest guns for pushing the clot shots and going after the unvaccinated. And because I recognized an influence campaign when I see one, I am on the unvaccinated list.
I don’t believe anything I see on the news. Not a single thing. Because when the media isn’t being our sociopathic overlords’ stenographer, they’re just getting things wrong and taking things out of context because they’re biased, ignorant and lazy.
Now the only thing I see is the man behind the curtain. I wish I didn’t see it. it’s a very ugly picture. But I’ve been red pilled, against my will.

The takeover of the US embassy in Iran?
It was between Bush 2 and Obama, we started noticing chem-trails, and seeing strange things on the internet; like the FEMA camps locations. Then we started hearing about foreign Militaries training with US Military. Then I remember distinctly, the first time hearing Obama speaking to a large crowd (possibly a University somewhere?) and this dread came over my heart hearing his voice; and thinking . . . ?
It was also about this time, that I saw a lecture and presentation about the destruction of the Twin Towers; which showed without question, the evidence of Directed Energy Weapons.
I have to say, that that was about the time we started seeing things were different.
1990 … A newsletter, then several financial and geopolitical ones, sparked becoming a precinct committeewoman… Did a lot of public debate for school choice in 1993, N. CA chair for 1992 US Seanate run (lost by 1 percent, due to RINO sabotage, got Barbara Boxer in the Senate from 1993 to 2o17…An abomination, from pouty offended RINO COWARDS!
WOKE UP MORE, REALLY was scared in 2006, then in 2007, 2008, and after that, really alarmed! That’s when I really started seeing the depth of impregnated, bottomless evil. Frightening.
Retired in 2010, traveled, wanted to retire out of US. Bought a little house in Mexico, divine climate, garden, chickens, rabbits, solar hot water & electrical, in a country with NO CULTURAL OBSESSION to track and control its people. Can walk to get around. Working on getting there soon.
.
Probably while looking at the beautiful peaceful twilight over the quiet very normal-looking city of Baghdad post 9/11 when we were about to attack, pointlessly…
But things then went into high gear and took a somewhat different aspect when a few years later, one of my then-teenage sons came to me complaining that he couldn’t find a decent used car because of “Cash for Clunkers”. Obama’s shenanigans (and there were so many) brought things into a different kind of focus.

I was brought up in a family which was always aware of current events, I liked poli-sci classes and liked applying my understanding of our constitution to current political events happening nationally.
The Viet Nam war was when I was in college and affected everyone I knew to some degree
However watching Tiananmen Square LIVE on the TV made me realize we have the ability to see current political events LIVE all over the world at any time and hooked me into watching the news with a very keen interest…am always afraid of missing “something”.
Unfortunately I now believe our “news” has been corrupted and issues are not reported by the main stream press and/or we get
Opinion not facts. I don’t think the current press lives up to all the responsibilities and privileges our constitution gives them.
That why I follow Sundance!
When a socialist with completely sanitized background took the White House in 2008/2009
During the Trayvon Martin situation I started to question the narrative
In April 1951, I rode my bike home during school lunch and returned with a small table radio from my room, so we could listen to Gen MacArthur’s speech upon his return from Korea. Done with the permission of my 3d grade teacher.
From that point I had an interest in the world and America
McArthur NAILED it.
Summer of 2008. Was thrilled that I might vote for Hillary Clinton as the first female president. Got into a tussle online with an Obama fan, who was equally thrilled that he might vote for the first black president. After some back and forth, he finally asked in exasperation: “Why not just vote for Obama? There’s really no policy difference between the two candidates!”
I sat back from the keyboard, stunned to realize I didn’t know what either candidate stood for. I had never paid attention to what any candidate stood for. I had simply voted blindly my entire adult life for the Dem nominee.
Next day I created a table. Three candidates across the top of the page: Obama, Clinton, McCain. Numerous subjects along the left side of the page, those topics most important to me. (One of those, perhaps oddly, was school vouchers.)
Then I went to each candidate’s web site to find my answers. I wasn’t just stunned this time, I was shocked. The candidate with the most plusses was McCain. And neither Obama nor Clinton had any at all.
I couldn’t stand him, not because he was Republican but because he was, well … McCain. I voted for him anyway. Feeling downright traitorous, I never told any friend or family member. Now, so many years later, I am still the only one who votes Republican, and now I don’t just check candidates’ web sites. I watch who votes how, on what issue.
Thankfully, in 2024, I won’t need to create a table. Will proudly vote for President Trump for the third time.
I already know where he stands, no matter the issue:)
I’ll vote for him too, but won’t be surprised if he gets the shaft again.
That’s easy.
The day we found out there we no WMD’s in Iraq.
It’s then I understood it all been lies. All of it. That there was a deep state, a uniparty, and a globalist cabal.
Big picture wise up began around a year prior to Hussein’s presidency, when I learned all about his history, et al, and then even a new raw level in January of 2020, after a mild bout with a cold-coronavirus type, upward from there, to the unbelievable, with absolutely no better explanation for the facts that have accumulated, throughout. I’m living in a surreal reality, is about the only description I can tender for my life, so far, as it is alike for so many millions of now increasingly informed…..
The day the man my mother married, payed to have my unborn child killed. I didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back to see how the woman that gave birth to me, championed the same killing of my unborn child, yet questions to this day if she did good enough raising me. To look into the eyes of my mortified girlfriend some fourty years ago, I would say, “that was the day” I woke up. I’ve never been the same, and I’ve pretty much questioned everything since then.
Wow, how sad. A lot of people were fooled by the “having a baby young will ruin your life, so it’s okay to kill it” argument. So many couples out there wanting to adopt, too, but we still we kill.
When things didn’t add up in the 60s w/Kissinger pulling the strings for war in Viet Nam
and ‘kids’ my age being sent to fight without understanding why … yet ‘our’ media portrayed them as murderers so they were spit on when they came home. 🙁
Then came the Neocons’ Project for the New American Century [PNAC] … the inside job of 911 and Bush boasting and laughing there were “no WMDs in Iraq” yet the U.S. was heading to war in 7 countries … Bush’s “axis of evil” BS … and U.S. citizens lost their civil liberties. 🙁
And then there were “chemtrails” = Geoengineering; H1N1 Swine Flu “Pandemic” vaccine designed to kill to the recent so-called “pandemic” and an untested vaccine also designed to kill . . . consequently my “tin foil hat” remains on and I don’t believe government peddling its “crap” . . . period!
1969 we had just renamed the street i lived on for my neighbors son who had ben killed in Vietnam my father and i had a very long conversation about why our government was sending our fiends over to fight and die for another country i was young and he very patiently explained to me that politics was not about doing the right thing for Americans it was about what was best for the politicians and the people and companies who pay them . it was an eye opener for me at that age but it made me question everything after that when it came to the Government . A life lesson i never forgot thanks dad i still miss him

“New World Order.”
– Bush the Elder (1991?)
I questioned a lot of things before that, but mostly in silence, due to living a life of bread and circuses.
I was fairly young and naive, but even then I was questioning why they were outsourcing and offshoring every job they could find a way to do. I kept asking who was going to buy their overpriced junk when regular middle class America was out of work and homeless. For a time my husband and I were homeless and had to live in a van with our four kids, and it scarred them deeply, but thank God we got back on our feet. At least then the deck wasnt as heavily stacked against the American working class like it is now. Today’s homeless won’t be so lucky.
For me, it was two evrnts. The OJ trial where …”if the glove don’t fit you must aquit”….and the CTH coverage of the St. Trayvon turbocharged my interest in 2012.
and thanks Sundance for asking this question
R.D.
Around 2008-9 I was at an agricultural conference where I was speaking and heard another speaker ask if there were any climate change deniers in the audience. A young bloke put his hand up and I made sure I talked to him in the break, at that stage I only had skepticism, no facts.
He gave me CO2 science website, from there I found jonova, WUWT and I think Bishop Hill. Then there was climate gate and the rest is history as they say. Once I saw the corruption in one area, it can’t be unseen. So I’ve been here about 10-12 years and really appreciate Sundance’s breakdown of US politics which has helped this Aussie a lot.
Thanks
It was the day I found the CTH website, quite by accident. After being here awhile I realized that the sites, news, etc that I had been reading, listening too,yes even Don Suber. It was all a lie and I had been taken in hook, line and sinker. When President Trump came down the escalator, and the articles here concerning that, was the ah ha moment for me. The other was the religious pinions of our host and his fiends and helpers.
As a kid in grade school (mid 70’s), I never liked the fact that Roosevelt was elected 4 times & had to die to get rid of him.
Then I read Animal Farm in 7th & again in 8th grade (78 &’79).
When Clinton was elected, his policies raised the hairs on my neck. I always called him a communist, before anyone ever uttered referring to our politicians as such.
Late 90’s, my job was obsessed with iso-9000 crap. Then I read the communist U.N. “white papers.”
Obama appeared & all I could see was Animal Farm with him & those commie White Papers began to take fruition.
“iso-9000”?
It’s still going on….
Basically business promising to change things in
nongovernmental standards but ISO-900X standards.https://www.iso.org/standard/62085.html
Yep, it’s taken over. And they keep raising standards. Now there’s ISO14001, ISO17025, etc. It’s a way to get businesses to regulate themselves. Drives employees nuts.
I worked in a DVD factory.
They were owned by Seagram’s (Canadian).
Sold to Matsushita (Japan Panasonic) they were a R&D company & really were into quality. Things were great with them.
We were then sold to Tompson electric (France). I was union for about 2 weeks & was hired by company (thank God!)
The union was taken over by SEIU (Screw Everyone In the Union) & Tompson was big into making us iso-9000 compliant. Which means they needed to know everything about everything. Who supplied us, our policies & suppliers policies. Tompson held a meeting & told everyone that they held about 95% of all media (news, movies,tv etc) & they intended to get the other 5%. The iso-9000 was required to do business internationally. They worried about the environment 😆 it wasn’t enough that our supplier sold us plastic beads to melt & turn into DVDs, Tompson wanted to know everything about them even though they didn’t own them.
Why? We workers talked about this & figured they could shut out non compliant companies & put them out of business. They would also know who had what & how it was made ( for a future take over? We didn’t know but we hated it). The word GLOBALISM was thrown around alot. It was a new term at that time & I detested it & still do.
Tompson fired all the good people & brought in green
card holders. I’m a night person. Loved night shift. They moved me to days 🤬 I was in the first few months of being pregnant (I didn’t know it yet) & I nodded off for a few minutes in front of a computer entering data. The green card Mexican boss fired me. I was pissed!
A year later, the entire factory, that had been there for decades (RCA records) folded & moved to Mexico.
Iso-9000 is a monopolizing globalist, save the planet, screw quality bunch of bullshit!
lol, Trish might be talking about the Total Quality Management, ISO 900X .
Math being my love language it is a way to have a formula about everything. Doesn’t do a very good job at dealing with all those unpredictable people.. They mess up the formulas quite regularly.. It was funny at the first national conference I went to how one of the presenters was a version of , “How to deal with the people to get you plans implemented“.
“Seek to understand before you are understood” has so many applications..
I was cleaning the Family room listening to the Senate debate immigration reform on MSNBC.
John McCain begins to speak and what he was saying and what he was proposing made me stop, listen and call him every dirty word I could think of.
John McCain was daring Americans to go pick lettuce and he would pay them $20 an hour. He implied we Americans wouldn’t do it because we were too lazy and spoiled to do it. I felt absolutely insulted!!
We, our Family paid $1000’s in tuition for our children’s education and as tax payers we spend billions on public education.
I was thinking, why in the Hell do we spend all this money on education to pick lettuce. And just who the F does John McCain think he is to say such thing!!
It wasn’t long after I gave up on Republicans, MSNBC and Chris Mathews. They were being nasty to Buchanan too.
I’m 56. I used to be a libtard. The first thing that happened to jar me from complacency was September 11th 2001, but this didn’t get me pointed in the right direction, it just made me aware that things were not exactly as I’d been told. Then the crash in 2008 happened. I almost had to change careers and was freaked out. I didn’t know anything about money or banking or currency, and when I started asking questions about what was going on that’s when the constitution and federalism started to make sense.
Born in 1957. Always rejected Authority. Always searching for Truth. Always Trust God.
Ditto.
Watching the psyop of obama election is when my attention became much more focused and realized the GOPe was also not my friend.
Also, I think the FOX series ’24’ was a big part of the obama psyop election and was the primer.
Never watched it. Guess that’s a good thing. I don’t watch much of the swill and twaddle on tv.
resistwemuch! ha, love it, i rember that teleprompter debacle!
When I was a teenager hiding under a parked van on the street avoiding geting shot due to a drug war due to having really corrupt people running our local government & corrupt police department.
in the 90’s It only got better when Craig was the chief of police there (my cars were’nt getting stolen anymore) until he retired.
Everyone loved him in Cincinnati. Then he left for the Detroit job. On his first day there, he encouraged all citizens to arm themselves.
Cincy had a ride in violent crime after he left.
It was during the second Bush mis-administration. It became clear to me that the government was not being run as if it were a ‘going concern’. We began prepping – buying bulk grains and storing them in 5 gallon buckets. Then, under Obama, with the Treyvon Martin dust up, it became obvious that things were really off the rails – and then, I found the Treehouse. The analysis and discussion and of course, the articles from Sundance were such a breath of fresh air! It was like, finally! the truth! Sadly, it’s been one horrible spiral into the present, with everything falling apart. Thank God for that little break with PDJT because, honestly, I don’t know where we would be without him.
I enjoyed Rush from the time he had the irreverent Gordon Liddy as a substitute. However, I think I was was really awakened that something was wrong when Rush started the “media montage”. It took a decade however to understand through CTH who was putting out the taking points.
The point when I was heartbroken to realize that my government was totally corrupt was when Peter Strzok testified before the House Judiciary Committee and destroyed my Joe Friday image of the FBI.
Not a particular moment (as I recall), but as I saw the massive amount of collusional omission about Obama, which I thought was typical D vs R, but then the coordinated deepstate & worldwide lying about Trump, the light bulb finally went off big time.
WEF, Illuminati, Satan? Who the hell knows, but whoever is pushing the buttons, its BIG and Global. The West vs “everyone else” dynamic unfolding is what is quite compelling to me now.
1992, watching the shit show that was Ruby Ridge go down. 1993 Waco siege came just months later.
I was eyes wide open after that. So much weird shit happened during Bill Clinton’s two terms. TWA 800, Ronald Brown assassination, OKC bombing, Vince Foster, Travelgate, impeachment, the list is long.
all one ever needed to know or learn about Hillary and Bill was her treatment of Billy Dale at the Travel Office (not to mention that Jerome Zeifman had fired her from a Watergate committee because ‘she was a dishonest, unethical lawyer).
He had been at the Travel Office for 30 years, arranging travel for administrations of both Parties with no complaints from anyone. Then Hillary declared that ‘we need our people in there,’ purely to direct money to her friends.
The travel office staff was a patronage position and so there was nothing wrong with Hillary wanting to put her friends in that position, BUT…..!!! it wasn’t enough to do a raw political move, she had to accuse Dale of embezzlement to justify it, a case that was thrown out as soon at the first jury could get its hands on the case.
It is in the same Clintonian vein of firing all 93 US Attorneys in order to hide the fact their real target was the Little Rock Attorney who was investigating Whitewater.
All this was in the first months of the Clinton Presidency……
She is the pure embodiment of evil.
What they did to Billy Dale shows who Hillary is. Great recap of the eight years of corruption and debauchery. They even stole the WH furniture! When Bush was elected it was a relief. Had no idea what he was up to until I saw that Sept 11 was an inside job. That event by the evildoers led to the virus hoax. And they are and were all in it together.
Your posts are tremendous.
As a British Columbian that has attended several Freedom Rallies and wouldn’t piss on Turd dough if he were on fire.
I salute you.
There are many of us Michael.
We are smarter, harder and much, much tougher.
Cheers!
thank you, sir. Go buy a normal looking .22 and or .223 and improve your marksmanship.
I can put a .223 into a 1.5″ group at 100 yards and my summer project is to improve upon that.
The most corrupt administration in our history. How about when they ‘Negotiated” with North Korea and handed over the missile tech that was forwarded to China to make them orbit capable. Somehow just separating the QUO of Quid-pro-quo by a few years with back door cash to the Clinton Foundation “protected” them from prosecution. Set the new standard for graft in Washington that has been followed by every one. McCain went from 3 million net worth to 33 million in 12 years.
Who will stand in the way of the graft machine?
To quote the comment by Unknownsailor about Bill Clinton, “The list is long.”
… …. The Clintons: ‘The Clinton body count conspiracy theory’ even has a ~sanitized and shortened list on Wikipedia. = The list is sometimes a lot longer of an amazing number of coincidences.
[Similar to Putin’s list of opponents, that accidently fall out of, or intentionally jump out of, ~ a tall building.]
President Harry S. Truman famously said, “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.” = A quote that has aged to to become, ‘There are no friends in Washington DC.’
The open flow of information and news on the ~Internet has change many people minds, about the ‘fake’ news business and lying politicians. … To stay informed and hopefully knowledgeable, people have to be far more discerning about both The Traditional News Sources and various News Sites on the Internet.
Thinking back it was probably around the time I was watching Glenn Beck when he was doing that Fox show – all the details on Obama and how he wasn’t who he presented himself to be, only to be yanked from Fox. After that was Trump in 2015 in combination with finding this fine blog and the info, fellowship, and raw truth found inside.
Same here.
I listened to Glen Beck on Fox when he exposed George Soros and The Tides Foundation with all of its funding tentacles in so many anti-US organizations. His white board presentations were very easy to get a hold of and see all of the dubious connections of the Leftists. Beck’s very humorous “learned professor” act drew me in. He wore a natty coat, tie and was smoking a pipe while mocking the talking heads of the time. That sly humor drew me in. From there I went on to American Thinker, and Rush and then Sundance.
A very pivotal moment for me was when the TV showed people being interviewed before an obama rally in some big auditorium in Texas. In the background the whole assembly was singing a hymn in low, very hushed, worshipful sounds. The only word they were singing was o-ba-ma, over and over and over again. That did it for me. I knew someone and something very evil had fooled those people. That’s how we sang hymns to praise God in the church–Only to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Never to a mere mortal. Discernment is a wonderful and powerful thing. Praise God.
When NATO waged aggressive war in Libya. I raised an eyebrow in 1998 in Serbia, but forgot it with the 9/11 attacks. I have always been a conservative Republican and anti-communist, but when I saw what happened to Col. Khaddaffi, who was a loyal ally in the War on Terror, I had to rethink what being a “Patriot” meant. The Benghazi Brief forever changed me.
It was terrible watching him die like he did, and seeing what they did to Christopher Stevens who thought the Clintons and obamas were his friends.
It was the fake “weapons of mass destruction” used to justify the Iraq War.
I knew with certainty we’re being fed lies and manipulations to justify yet another war, that would bring endless misery and suffering to millions of people and I felt disgusted.
I was a low info person at the time but I found shocking that most people aroung me fell for the propaganda.
As a teenager in the mid 70’s, I developed an almost obsessive interest in the JFK assassination and the official conclusion.
The body of information that I availed myself of created the skeptical eye that I have to this day.
Hopefully Harold Weisberg was one of the critics who informed your knowledge base of JFK….
Holy smokes, Sundance, you’re going to get lots of replies to this question.
What made me stop and look at something and ask “why” the answer would have to be: Politics. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, especially nowadays, it really doesn’t matter because a socialist machine is running and ruining this country. But it is something that I watch constantly and think about much too much. But I have watched politics since the 60s, when I was just entering my teen years. It has been an interesting walk.
The ‘gay’ bishop – Episcopal Church – 2003 – then the Catholic priest predators – then Øbama and all his outrageous abuses of power and attacks against conservatives – then the coverage of Trayvon Martin here at the CTH.
In the weeks after September 11th 2001, comparing what politicians said on TV/CSPAN versus what they said on the floor of congress/senate/whitehouse, and the re-emergence of the american flag lapel pin that pro-war politicians wore at the time.
My moment came somewhere around 2010.
I no longer watch TV, but back then I suddenly noticed way too much lying by Obama, and he was getting away with it, every single day.
I used to read a lot of news online back then, too, and at that same exact time, I was noticing the fluff pieces about Obama, while at the same time, I was starting to read some disturbing things about him.
By 2011, I read an article by Sundance, who I had never heard of, linked by someone from a site I used to read (don’t remember which one), and now, CTH is pretty much the only place I get the truth.
Decades
Election night 2020, when the counting stopped in 6 cities across the country, and DJT was obviously winning bigly. the following morning everything had flipped, and in the following weeks no republicans stood up for him. I also remember hearing at some point McConnell told R’s under him to keep quiet.
I voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. I was a die-hard liberal. My husband (always conservative) introduced me to Rush Limbaugh’s TV show during Clinton’s first administration. Rush discussed JFK, and how different the Democrat Party was during his presidency and what it had become especially after Clinton. I never again voted for a Democrat after 1992. Rush was the first wake-up call for me. I never looked at the Democrats the same again.
My second wake-up call was George W. Bush — when he said the illegals were “doing the jobs Americans just won’t do” — that just wasn’t true, and I knew in my gut something was very wrong with the Republican Party. Apparently, I new there was a UniParty in D.C., but I was still in the denial stage.
Little by little I dug into the Internet (I was a journalist, writer, editor once upon a time) — so the real truthful news was important to me. I found Realclearpolitics, the Instapundit, and of course, I listened to Rush whenever I could to keep me grounded in reality. I’d pass along things to my husband and a few friends and family to spread the word.
I found this most excellent site (not even sure how), but you’ve been my guiding light and have really awakened me. You, dear sir, and your fabulous staff have probably awakened me more than I really wanted to be! LOL! But, I believe in truth, as difficult as it is to face sometimes — because we have to live in this screwed up world, and truth is the only way.
Thank you all for keeping me grounded in reality.
P.S. — I also absolutely loved Andrew Breitbart and still think something fishy with his death during the horrible Obama Administration.
In 2021, when I realized that Democrats and the deep state are not going to allow Trump to be President again… and to my schock what happens next? Sundance turns on DeSantis. I felt cleaved in half.
Modifying the question a little, I first noticed that there was a Uniparty ruling the US after 9/11.
I always knew that the media was biased, but never thought that the R’s were just the other side of the R’s/D’s coin. I had the Eureka moment when W decided to invade Iraq. Being former military, understood why we would go into Afghanistan, but Iraq?
But what just blew my mind was the D’s going along with W and playing the WMD game. Everyone I knew thought the WMD was a scam. Colin compromised himself with that stunt at the UN. And yet the D’s went along with it.
And since then, I couldn’t unsee the strings.
As for President Trump, I always thought he was a sharp guy. A little over the top, but hey, he was being himself.
So I suspected that he was different and HE SURE AS HECK WAS.
Best two votes I ever cast…
And that’s saying a lot since I voted twice for the Gipper!
1980
I’m Scots-Irish, so my baseline distrust of Gov’t is genetically set at a very high level. I remember family reunions every Thanksgiving as a child, listening to my uncles and elder cousins speculate about how we were being lied to. I wanted to believe that those who called themselves “conservative” were right and true, or at least not actively taking actions to weaken this nation. I wanted to go to war as a young Marine infantry Captain in 2003, so I didn’t throw up much of a fight despite the fact that Powell’s arguments before the UN smelled of bullshit. I’d followed the managed decline of the US while passively writing emails, then a blog, all the while in a state of denial that the neo-cons were worse, in act and deed, than the commie hippies that I had derided since my early 20’s.
I didn’t understand the role of gov’t regulation that rewarded some industry and penalized others. I knew that oil extraction/prices were set months in advance, but did NOT appreciate how much effect the executive branch had on that resource until Trump became president and demonstrated how easy this all could be.
That is what was so refreshing from 2017-2020. That the domestic industrial might of this nation could be weaponized, energized, and fueled by the policies of the Executive. The fact that there is so much resistance to doing that has been surprising, and I remain even more suspicious of the entire establishment as a result. The co-dependency of ESG with gov’t policy is traitorous and the investment in that at the expense of the People is frankly astounding.
In 2005 I predicted that states would start opting out of the Union by 2050. I’ve since amended that prediction. I think the US will start shedding states within the next dozen years. Federalism has become less and less viable, as DC insists on controlling every aspect of every life, while the interests of people who live and work there diverge significantly from any who doesn’t live in the 202 area code.
The “flood” is upon us, as it has been many times throughout human history. The US Constitution is an ark. Perhaps we can weather this. I am skeptical that we will be able to.
Thank you for your faith and your voice. Please continue to move forward as you have been, sir.
Regards,
Larry
