At a time when/if the economy was functioning as most economic pundits have previously proclaimed, Amazon and other retail giants would normally be beefing up workers in anticipation of the holiday shopping season. However, with the midterm election in the rearview mirror, exactly the opposite is happening. {Backstory on prior employment announcements}
According to multiple media reports, Amazon is expected to announce layoffs for approximately 10,000 U.S. workers this week. Yet another indication the economic pretending is coming to an end right after the midterm election is concluded.
(CNBC) – Amazon is planning to lay off approximately 10,000 employees in corporate and technology roles beginning this week, according to a report from The New York Times. Separately, The Wall Street Journal also cited a source saying the company plans to lay off thousands of employees.
Shares of Amazon closed down about 2% on Monday.
The cuts would be the largest in the company’s history and would primarily impact Amazon’s devices organization, retail division and human resources, according to the report. The reported layoffs would represent less than 1% of Amazon’s global workforce and 3% of its corporate employees. (read more)
“Bye”
As previously noted by Yahoo News, a “wave of layoffs” has begun that encompasses dozens of medium and large corporations [SEE HERE].
The layoffs, outlined in Yahoo, cover real estate, tech companies, banking, finance, automakers, EV startups, and brick and mortar stores like 7-11 and GAP. It should not come as a surprise, but it is sad to see, nonetheless.
Within the economy, a great pretending can only last so long… then reality hits.
The skilled trades should likely end up in the best employment situation, with the tech sector the worst. Service industries are also one of the first sectors hit when employment becomes an issue.
With rising interest rates, high inflation, excessive inventories, a shrinking production economy, extreme energy costs and diminished disposable income as a result of inflation and gas prices, there was going to come a time when it all starts to congregate.
2023 looks to be the year when economic pretenses collapse under the weight of having to admit a recession exists.
This is shaping up to be a painful holiday season….
FedEx and UPS are planning layoffs as well. Merry xxxx’n Christmas from our overlords.
Plus 650 at C. H. Robinson

1200 reported the other day… Is this an additional 650?
No, instead of, at least according to the linked article.
Hopefully it will wake up the morons and the ignorant.
rita pappas: It won’t.
They’re fixin to steal Kari’s office from her, I’m on full censorship at CFP.
This delay BS has to stop. That is the method of Lefty madness! With it, it buys time for results changes! If the Right ever learns to count ballots, they’d have a good chance of straightening out this mess. The key is to get rid of the Mc’s! Get started on assisting in ballot counting! The Right should learn the way the Left uses and counter it by beating them to the punch! McCarthy has to be the first one to go, then Mitch and Ronna! We get the House back, then in ’24 we have a shot at the Senate and White House. Otherwise, America circles the drain!
This is all state and local. Yes, the funding problem with Masters was McConnell’s fault, but the theft is local.
It’s no doubt, a done deal.
Goodbye USA.
Yep… 10 years Treasury will be broke. BRICS currency will be dominant and hyper-inflation will destroy communities for generations. Most countries will laugh given the arrogance of DC and their greed and basic lack of compassion for human suffering.
Too late. Damage is done.
If they did not wake up with the $4-$5 gas and the price of food along with shortages, millions of illegals coming into the Country, rampant crime etc etc, then there is no hope for them. Of course we have to suffer with them.
Diesel jumped eighty cents since Tuesday steal.
No, Kari has won, and she probably took the others across the line.
Arizonians need to hunt down their SoS, reps, etc down, and make them fear for their lives if they don’t fight…AND MEAN IT.
Hundreds of thousands of irate citizens.
Wendy Rogers was on the Charlie Kirk show tonight and said that a recall requires only about 600K signatures.
Kari could get those walking away….
Not sayin’ all the other venues shouldn’t be pursued simultaneously, but that one sounds good to me. Hobbs could be recalled on day one for her malfeasance in not recusing from running her own election.
So you believe the election results were real and accurate? No, they were completely rigged yet again and they will continue to be. Because no one has ever been stopped or punished for rigging the elections so the left will continue to steal everything right out from under our noses and we now have a Potemkin voting system.
In the end times 144,000 will be saved. Does not bode well for the morons and the ignorant.
12,000 from each tribe of Israel.
You might also notice that the tribe of Dan is no represented.
Hahaha.. Not a chance.. ✌️. They’d rather remain ignorant than do what’s right by America and Americans..
Layoffs in the biggest online retailer and two of the biggest shipping and delivery companies BEFORE Christmas!
Sure, me boyo, the economy’s just fine, now pass me that bottle of jubilation! 🙂

Stop look and listen then run over the elites..
There is no bombshell revelation within the newly declassified documents, but it does offer insightful details regarding Bush and Cheney’s moves after the attack took place.
One interesting detail released through the documents is that Cheney took more command than what the general public knew at the time.
Per the Intercept:
Another eye-opener detail found on page 5 of the 9/11 Commission interview document was a statement from Bush which read, “They heard an aircraft was down in Pennsylvania. The Vice President thought we’d shot it down.”
The plane Cheney was questioning was Flight 93 which crashed near Shanksville Pennsylvania after passengers stormed the cockpit.
Previously, before Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Bush ordered for planes to be shot down.
So knowing what everyone knows about these people…
Seems to me Cheney wanted to usurp the Presidency after 9/11
Was it a lack of awareness or remorse?
I believe that he was made aware that a major event would take place, but what it was to be, no.
The ‘official ‘ story is bull used to get the patriot act.
I wonder if they got the same pitch from Biden as the Saudis did.
One thing about Amazon is they have their own temporary staffing firms. The firms are not owned by Amazon but the firms only client is Amazon. Middle TN has massive Amazon distribution centers. Football fields long centers and there are multiple ones. The temp workers are not contract or employed by Amazon, they are employed by the staffing firms. My temp staffing firm stayed away from Amazon due to onerous contract requirements. I also saw today about Amazon moving on fast forward with robots for fulfillment centers due to union contract demands to be voted in even though TN is a Right to Work state.
What I’m curious about is the city of Nashville in their corporate welfare handouts currently both Amazon and Oracle are building in downtown Nashville and on the west bank of Nashville. Both are receiving welfare. Both have agreements for a certain number of employees to be hired in Nashville. Not in San Francisco or Silicon Valley. Both company’s are doing lay offs . The Commie Dems and the RINO’s can’t help themselves with their corporate welfare packages.
Don’t even talk about the state of TN and it’s massive welfare to Ford and their worthless electric con job in West TN. I’m sure we citizens of TN will pay big time for that and it will be an illusion.
“I’m sure we citizens of TN will pay big time for that and it will be an illusion.”
Yes they will. Look into the details and find the time lines for the events to occur and what that ruler across the knuckles penalty is.
With some of these”deals” you will find that the “company” will not meet X on date Y, but we promise to meet the next date, as such the pol’s attorney advises that it is best to go along it will get better.
In the end they have not met any of the agreed upon points, they pack up what ever if anything, and say sorry about your luck.
The pols both state and local have moved on and have not a clue of what you speak of.
I always act like I don’t know why the pols do this, then I remember a few local pols that got 10 year degrees at club fed, they’re still good.
Happened in WI with FoxCon. Years ago with Chrysler & GM too.
The local economies take decades to recover.
And Governor Lee was handily re-elected. Go figure.
Just like we have been saying. The pain is going to have to get MUCH worse before people change their voting habits. I for one welcome it. I’m prepared thanks to Sundance.
I agree, too many have no awareness of what is exactly happening. OTOH, I believe many more voters, including some Dems and some Independents, cast their actual votes for the Repub candidates than is being reported. ALL of the polls report that the citizenry, over 70% of them, think the Country is going in the wrong direction.
Hey, they got away with it in 2020, so why would they not do it in 2022. DUH.
Hush yo mouth! Don’t talk about (election) Shaft!
Ballot adjustment algorithms have been programmed accordingly in advance.
We have a ballot problem, not a voting problem.
‘Pain is an excellent teacher’ – unknown
May their lessons be learned well. Brace for the cold and hunger coming now that the midterms are over. This winter will be harsh, maybe the harshest ever.
This is probably a good time to remind everyone to blend in and keep quiet about your stockpile. Wear plain clothes and get in the bread and cheese line like everyone else.
^^^^^THIS^^^^^. Everyone on youtube showing off their pantries!!
Keep a low profile, look poor and act poor.
I had to tell a friend of mine to stop showing and telling everyone he knows about all of the food he has stockpiled. I told him that when it hits the fan he has to still go to the grocery store and buy a few items. Also, wear the same clothes over and over again, go out in your worst pair of shoes, and do not invite people over to your home so that they see what you have.
Us too….need a new tv to view Formula 1 racing. Price has dropped 25 % in a month for the one we will buy. Estimated drop another 20%….Awesome. Racing only…no msm
Hunger will hopefully motivate lots to, no vote but act against the satanists.
Pretty certain it was SD that floated the question several months ago (paraphrasing): With the GDP shrinking along with other market indicators how is it the job market remains so robust. I said could it potentially be that govt(s) are paying/incentivizing entitles to keep people on the payroll? Most likely through tax credits and rebates, etc. No more point in doing that now is there?
Even with the hot job market most consumers seemed to know something was off. Inflation no doubt was the leading indictor. I don’t know that my theory is correct but if so we will be in for a ride. I shudder to think what it will look like with high unemployment along with high fuel (diesel) prices. The only answer our bettors will have is to print more money. I guess the Fed could pivot as well and start cutting rates.
Hate really hate saying this, GOOD!
Who did they fill out their ballot for?
When their State’s unemployment checks get cut in half our more, because that particulate insurance fund has been depleted during covid. Remember your lazy a$$ ballot you filled out and put in the mail, because that is why they will suffer. They voted for their own destruction. Trillions and trillions of debt, these people are not even half rational!
I will not feel sorry for fools.
All of those young people who voted Dem and are trying to buy their first home should be getting a shock really soon if they haven’t already. I posted some time ago that at 4% an $1151/month budget lets you borrow $240k, but at 7% only $170k. $70k is a BIG difference, it could mean not getting into your target neighborhood or being forced to give up a bedroom or some other thing you wanted.
Yes.
Life is going to be a lot more miserable for everyone.
Some loose a jobs some will be victimized by crimes some will loss every dream they ever had and some will just give up and decide to leave planet earth and then they will find out, yes there is a God.
But gov’t will take all you have to keep the starving hordes from hanging them.
No need to pretend any more. They have 2 more years before the next election. By then, either the cheat/harvest will be perfected or their ruinous economic policies will be so entrenched they won’t have to worry.
Maybe both, and maybe they turn over just enough seats to cooperative complicit RINOs to be the fall guys when they unveil the really bad news.
“American entrepreneur and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose worth is estimated at roughly $124.1 billion, announced on Monday with CNN that he would give away most of his fortune to charities that fight against climate change.”
Even in death, he’ll still be screwing over Americans.
The beneficiaries will have that money spent before they can say, “I stand with Ukraine.”
Don’t you believe it.
multinationals will do this post election because the agenda must advance. Everything it timed like clock work. Meanwhile the GAO and other bureaucracies are fudging the numbers. All by design. When it’s to late suckers you’ll realize your mistakes voting for democracy that turns into communism. Give a big thank you to academia and the enemedia.
I’ve gotten t the point where I will probably cancel my membership with Prime.
Living in areas where a lot of things are hard to get, Prime was a good option for it didn’t matter the cost of the item it was free shipping. Oh yea I do make sure its not just the convenience of not have to go into a store but that the price is the same or equalviant.
In the beginning it was 3 day free shipping, but lately even on common items its been 5 days to over a week.
I think you should move to israel if you love it so much.
I get the feeling your reply wasn’t intended for kin’s comment.
I don’t know how you feel about Walmart but they offer a tremendous selection of items and many times items I order with free shipping end up being delivered (for free) from a store that same day or the next day. They have 3rd party sellers too so that opens up the offerings.
Believe or not I have found myself using Walmart more often then Amazon. Seems that if Wallmart now combines a order for pickup & delivery if all in one order making shipping free if its over $35.
One interesting fact I found with Wallmart is if you have an order ovWhen Membership comes up next spring, Im out of Amazon.
Walmart is paying their employees to travel over state lines to murder their children.
Haven’t been in a store since SCOTUS issued their Dobbs decision.
I have Prime but only got it 6 months ago. I got rid of my cable which was costing me $65 a month for a low tier of shows. $ 15 a month for Prime let’s me watch some older shows I like, but I don’t watch much TV at all. When I do order goods from Amazo now I order small items I need but I buy them a week or two apart. To cost Amazon more to deliver them to me. Today they delivered a $10 item in a shipment, free shipping. Tomorrow 2 more small items are scheduled to arrive, free shipping. Those 3 items items cost a total of $50. LOL. Let them pay the gas to deliver it all separate. Yes I’m petty 🤪
LOL, I like how you think!
You really want to cost them?
Return those items….
you are so mean—but often I will order on Amazon versus some other site due to their return policy.
A bit off topic, but for the cut the cord or TV streamers .
In the beginning I was using prime for TV streaming and sort of Christmas shopping. However, except for some of Prime’s own shows, they seem to charge for most of the shows. So primarly I only use prime for free shipping
All my TVs are now Rokus attached to a Winegard flat antenna. (You can get a Roku streaming stick for under $20) There are a ton of free apps for for the older shows. Currently I used Hulu basic without commercials, and Philo on a monthly basis. I do what I call binge watching with some of the other paid apps with certain seasons of certain shows I like I know are over. What I like about Philo is I’m grandfathered in at $20 a month, but my T-Mobile has been paying $10 of it for almost 2 years now.(My T-Mobile is 50 a month for unlimited everything even if I go out of the country. ) Since I really don’t include Prime, my average cost is less than $30 a month.
Oh yea, its nice to realize that the $4 item you can’t really find in a store or when weather is crappy, is free shipping. Done that quite a few times, especially when the weather is really crappy.
I’m on antenna too.
On rare occasion when reception is horrid I use streaming. Before I bought my new Samsung TV I was using whatever free services I access on an older (2016) DVR. With the Samsung TV I have access to Samsung’s free streaming service.
I still have my old Samsung DVD player LOL…It was the first hook up I had that I didn’t have play all sorts of games to stream TV. Prior to the Samsung I was conecting my laptop to the TV with an HDM(?) cord.
I can’t tell you how many antennas I tried prior to finding the Winegard. Hey I lived in the boonies surrounded by hills and mountains.
I was probably one of the first people to use Hulu when it first came out.
Really can’t believe how much TV streaming has advanced. Yet on the same hand the different stations that had people needing to cut the cord are not sementing off from the cheaper apps making almost as expensive to stream as to use cable or satelite TV.
Can you do antenna? I have cable for internet, but for TV I’m on antenna. I’m in a major metro area though so I get a lot of channels. I also don’t watch much TV, only when I’m in bed and I like reruns of older shows or documentaries. But after the initial cost of $50 for the antenna and $35 for the amp, I pay nothing.
I do mostly streaming because I don’t like most of the newer shows. Decade, ME and Retro are three of my favorite stations on antenna . Was shocked when I found My Little Margie, and Ozzie & Harriet
I read the reviews on Amazon then go directly to the seller website. Saved $10 doing that just this week.
Been doing that for close to 3 years now. Some of the source companies are great and fulfill the orders far more accurately than amazon, though there is some shipping. Would never do this for heavy items – have to find them locally.
I like keeping small companies in biz when I can.
Please consider those of us that sell on eBay. I know the company often stinks but we are independent sellers. Our business is taking a beating lately.
I used to do ebay. Howevr in the last 5 years, I got my account hacked twice.
I do most of my shopping on ebay or alibris.com (abebooks.com is owned by Amazon), and refuse to use Amazon except when researching stuff sometimes.
Got an item on ebay a while ago that was dropshipped from Amazon, without that being stated in the listing. Ever since then I prefer the sellers with 100%, or near it, feedback and not the “big guys” with tens of thousands of feedback & lower ratings. Seems to have solved that problem.
Sure wish ebay would require dropshippers to state that in the listings.
Yep I’ve gotten several ebay items in amazon boxes. Causes much eye-rolling…
It’s almost as if they’ve been less than forthright about the state of the economy.
I actually prefer Osama’s 7th Century Death Cult to Obama’s 21st Century Death Cult.
The costumes are better. And the sword is quicker than the Vaccine Murders.
Yes folks, these are Putin’s layoffs. Here come the midget carpet muncher to tell you right now.
lol @ “Putin’s layoffs” I will not be surprised at all if Biden uses that term.
We shouldn’t give them ideas. The White House Clown Car denizens probably read here.
Pelosi said she’s coming back. Are we still pretending the Rs will have the majority in the House.
Wrong thread. Sorry.
You want the Satanic Witch/ FBI False Flag-thread.
Isn’t that right, Governor?
There’s many articles like this about apartment owners making record profits these last few years despite the scamdemic. Not sure what will happen when tens of thousands are unemployed, but my point is that they are sucking tens of millions of dollars out of local economies because renters can’t afford to go out to eat and shop. Not looking for pity but just stating a fact that rent for an older one-bedroom unit in Waco, TX now takes 75% of my retirement income. A lot of people are moving here due to that stupid fixer-upper show. There’s a new Amazon warehouse here—not sure of the tax breaks they received to locate here. Forgive me for being slightly off topic.
https://www.nar.realtor/magazine/real-estate-news/multifamily-owners-stand-to-earn-record-profits-in-2022
There is a staggering amount of trade corridor construction along Texas interstates and many other states. But the scale of the warehouses and infrastructure in Texas dwarfs many other similar regions in the US I’ve been through this year.
Agenda 2030/205o goals for high density urban corridors would mean elimination of small/medium business and mass relocations of workers. The destruction of America’s economy outside those corridors is one way to do that.
Corporatists are fleeing the decimated gangrenous States/cities they left in their destructive wake, and are moving over to infect unsuspecting fresh new States/cities.
Economic locusts.
Thanks to The Gateway pundit today 11/14/22
“American entrepreneur and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose worth is estimated at roughly $124.1 billion, announced on Monday with CNN that he would give away most of his fortune to charities that fight against climate change.
The announcement comes after Bezos awarded $100 million to singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton as a gift.”
Is your family canceling Thanksgiving or Christmas? Have you lost your home because of the storms or because you lost your job? I’ve nothing opposed to Dolly Parton supplying millions of books to children “around the world” or making changes in injurious habits that create massive toxic cleanups.
Bezo’s decision jerked my neck around. A fortune in profits from Billions of people in the nation that gave him his start. He scatters it on trees, water and killing domestic animals. Trillions in taxes and fees paid to governments at every level, county, state, federal, by people who supply the practical needs of Americans in every town. I wonder what the percentage of that money benefits the contributors who don’t get a write off because it’s not called a “donation”.
Not profit – graft off the top and Bezos has to return it. Amazon is funded as a State monoply – an integral of part of the neo-fascism we call a government. It will be laundered through green companies and NGOs.
There is no such thing as charitable giving. Bill Gates put his money on charity. He is even 10x richer now. Bezos will stir his money for profit through green energy.
Bezos pprobably has the same amount of money salted away in the Caymans
Once you’ve hit rock bottom the only place to go is up. Just keep waiting for rock bottom, so we can start the climb up and out. Maybe rock bottom is no more meat. Maybe it’s no more grain products. Maybe it’s no more jobs. Maybe it’s no more guns. I don’t think rock bottom happens until 1 or all 4 of those happen. 😞
“No society is more than three meals away from revolution.”
apparently these young folks don’t care about their meals, only abortions, perhaps our Lord will let them starve
Actually these kids are more pro life than their parents.
The abortion bull is cover, nothing more.
Posobeic says nine. I guess that’s 3 days…
I’ve been through a lot of hurricanes in my years but one in NC (Fran) was very bad. With trees down everywhere, all roads were impassible. After 3 days of no electricity, most of us were on our last day or two of food. Even though everyone knew the roads would open any day, civility disappeared at small ice and food distributions. It does not take much.
Ice storms are similar but quieter. Eerily quiet.
Has anyone else had this experiene recently? I look up a book on Amazon, and it returns the title, but no other information, just some blurb to the effect that Amazon is broken and I should try again later. Anyone?
I just tried and I had zero problems with the Amazon site.
They’re deciding if you can read it.
Amazon discontinued book browsing. Last few weeks, deliveries don’t arrive, no excuse. Sabotage?
Conveniently timed for right after the National Selection.
Really, the only way out of this mess we’ve created is to have the whole damn country collapse.
Maybe it will awaken the country to actually do something about all the lies, thievery and fraud those of us have seen who are awake.
Pretty cool lesson in “useful idiots”.
“The cuts would be the largest in the company’s history and would primarily impact Amazon’s devices organization, retail division and human resources, according to the report. The reported layoffs would represent less than 1% of Amazon’s global workforce and 3% of its corporate employees.”
Reading between the lines, these cuts are targeting Amazon’s manufacturing sector (electronic devices) and corporate dead weight (human resources, also note the corporate layoffs are disproportionately higher). I’m not sure what Amazon’s retail division encompasses, likely the brick and mortar stores it operates in some states.
So Amazon is making cuts to its service, consumer goods manufacturing, and corporate sinecure sectors at its busiest time of year.
Based on that observation Amazon appears to be preparing for an extended “growth recession.”
“I’m not sure what Amazon’s retail division encompasses, likely the brick and mortar stores it operates in some states.”
Amazon owns Whole Foods Market.
You’re correct and I’d forgotten about Amazon’s acquisition splurge over the last few years.
However I’m unclear if these layoffs apply only to Amazon or include its subsidiaries.
Their actual name is Whole Paycheck.
Or, I guess, these days, their name has become Half a Dozen Whole Paychecks.
Rigged election 2020 American’s you are losing JOB,
As always, I hope the affected workers are Dem voters.
Amazon’s HQ is in Seattle, and if corporate and IT workers are being laid off I think there’s a good chance most if not all are in Seattle. Blue Seattle reaping the benefits of their voting. Housing is very expensive there, isn’t it?
Yes. Count on 50% of one’s monthly net pay. At minimum. That’s just for rent, not utilities.
My hunch is a large % of those affected will be happy to be home on unemployment or put another way “getting what they voted for”.
Corporate and IT workers, according to the article. They probably have nice homes (expensive too, because Seattle’s real estate market is inflated) and don’t want to be without income.
May the lose their homes as well. Would serve them right.
Putting off the recession to help the Democrats. Another in-kind contribution by our corporate masters.
I meant to add this… I stopped to pick up parts at a midsize GM store, Corey, parts guy and I kibbitzed. Went thru shop to pay cashier out front, my route is thru the actual shop where work is preformed, I’m a regular non suing customer so I get that privilege. The shop has 11 bays for the mechanics. 4 were occupied. 4. Paid cashier, went back to parts and asked Corey “what gives?!??” Motioning to the shop. You should see our other dealerships…. I stopped and we had a long discussion on Ayn Rand and the disappearance of the producers.
I like what she called the opposite. Producers versus moochers.
I better get going on my Christmas shopping. I live in a small town and don’t want to rely on,y on Walmart. Ugh.
“Amazon is planning to lay off approximately 10,000 employees in corporate and technology roles”
Dang—the potato’s not paying off your student loan and you lose your job.
Just when your mom thought she could have the basement back.
So sorry for you mom.
Mom can rent Failure to Launch (the film about the grown son who won’t leave so the parents hire a woman to entice him out) on the Prime for $3.99 (wow, that’s inflated since last I rented from them, never again)…
Pro tip on Amazon’s Prime video: They say you can rent or buy a movie. I bought quite a few back in the day before I discontinued practically all use of them. But here’s the thing – you do not actually own the movies. There’s no way to download them to your own computer, and if you discontinue the service you forfeit them! It should be more properly called an open-ended lease of some sort.
“You will own nothing…” Most of the online biz has smelled of Klaus Schwab for quite a while now.
You would think a multi-billionaire owner might have some love for his employees who are worked like dogs instead of giving his money away to climate clowns and Dolly
My thought was JB sounded like a phony broker hinting that we should be buying green scheme stocks.
He doesn’t give a whoop about Amazon employees – they’re just cattle on his farm.
Hard times make strong men and women and children.
1️⃣ Hard times make strong men.
2️⃣ Strong men make good times.
3️⃣ Good times make weak men.
4️⃣ Weak men make hard times.
That’s the “Fourth Turning” in 4 lines.
Right after midterms.
The political/media establishment complex are in a league by themselves when it comes to coordinated lying and false narratives.
Right before Christmas and the Holiday season.
Ugh.
Yes how deliciously sadistic eh ?
C’mon, Jeff Bezos,
Now do the Washington Post!
Useful idiots who have been mocking MAGA “hicks” and full throated vacxers now receiving notice of their status. O well, guess they can learn to code. Tragic mean spirited myopes. Maybe Obama’s “got your back!”
I don’t want to hear Nunes say again we will have investigative power. Investigations means nothing in the hands of the current government.
I am in favor of a separate party if we can get a fair election count in 2022.
I would welcome the U.S. Military to run fair elections now.
Interesting. I used to love Amazon. Their performance in the past year has suffered. I noticed.
What everyone should be paying attention to is this: when you can’t find what you want locally or even within driving distance, Amazon usually has it. If Amazon tanks, goods are going to become even more scarce than they are now. I’d be taking an assessment of things you purchase for every day life and stock up like the dickens. Walmart is also struggling. It’s looking more like we’re headed for a Depression rather than a Recession. Those supply chains are going to get worse, especially with the lack of energy. Amazon and Walmart put a lot of small businesses out of business over the last decade or so. Those smaller businesses aren’t coming back.
By the way, I purchased that refrigerator I’ve been needing today. It was marked down even further. Great brand, made in the USA. Great price! Thank you Sundance!
I never buy Amazon. If I cannot get what I need locally or from an independent website, I will use eBay. I used use Amazon to search, read reviews and then buy at eBay, but now Amazon’s search is tuned to “push” items rather than let me find what I want.
My employer has not laid off in their 98 year history. In 2008, they cut hours/salaries by 20%. When business recovered 2 years later, they gave every employee cumulative back pay.
That said I was blessed. For every demoncrap voter that’s brought us here…, cheers. I hope you get what you voted for. Good & twice as hard as anything that is visited upon my patriot brothers & sisters.
There was so much hand wringing when musk made announcement for twitter layoffs but crickets now that there buddies are laying off employees. We conservatives don’t stand a chance. So much cheating in elections and no way to stop this insanity.
They should learn to FRACK.
Does Amazon employ about 1.6Million?
Just passed a bezos truck beating down my back road at 7:30 pm . They will kill those bois with overtime if they don’t organize and get them a good union . The unions fought that 40 hour work week war many years back and now Bezos thinks he can just ignore it along with the safety regs for drivers .
ooopsies! learn to WELD.
Meanwhile, back at Twitter:
Elon Musk says free employee lunches at Twitter HQ were costing more than $400 per meal because ‘almost no one’ was in the office
I presume they had an annual contract and price for providing meal service at headquarters
With a fixed contract price and very few diners, the unit cost came out to $400 per plate
… because almost everyone was goldbricking – I’m sorry – “working remotely”
Back before the software biz went as corrupt as all the rest of it, our relatively small company used to provide dinners.
We were all crazy busy, so everybody chatted, socialized, chowed down, and then worked a couple/few more hours before drifting home. These were salaried people not on a clock. This was the culture. A lot of us did it partially for job satisfaction. You know, that obscure thing called the work ethic and experiencing the satisfaction of doing your work well.
All gone now – the few left are assigned to train Indian hires how to do their jobs before being laid off.
Does this mean Alexa is losing her job or just the people monitoring your conversations with her?
Great laugh, thank you!
I recently saw a meme that they are planning to create a male version of Alexa called Alex. Instead of listening, he will ignore you.
We’ve entered the post-modernist era of total subjectivity.
God is dead, man becomes god.
This the basis of fascism, and the entrancing premise for worship of the State.
All truth becomes the privilege, the luxury of the State.
Climate change, without any actual evidence, is now true because the State says so.
Of course, most people are now at sea in this subjective dreamland.
Without the moral underpinning of Church and family most souls are just lost. That is the point. That is entirely the point.

The trickle up economy, poverty for the masses.
