By all outward appearances the acquisition of the Twitter social media platform by billionaire Elon Musk looks like it is going through.
According to bank filings and financial transfer documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal {link}, the process to finalize the purchase is taking place. Meanwhile Mr. Musk used the platform to notify Twitter advertiser of his intent in the purchase {link}:
The cleaving of information on social media and information platforms is already well underway. I doubt anything currently undertaken to slow that process will have any effect. In essence, the ideological Big Tech platforms removed half the potential discussion purposefully and with specific intent; that decision has created alternate platforms where a more honest non-woke conversation about issues and events takes place.
Corporate advertising is part of the attack vector controlled by professional activists who use threats, fear and intimidation to target any advertiser who might want to reach an audience on a platform not directly controlled by Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Big Tech in general. Musk’s appeal to advertisers does nothing to stop organized left-wing political activist groups from continuing their onslaught against speech they disagree with. In the modern era few, if any, large advertisers want to enter this mosh pit political brawl.
(Wall Street Journal) […] Mr. Musk describes himself as a “free speech absolutist” and has said Twitter should be more cautious about removing tweets or banning users.
Mr. Musk may have reasons to avoid any drastic changes to Twitter’s ad business. Twitter will take on $13 billion in debt in the deal. The online ad markets already are shaky, amid concerns about the economy, with Snap Inc. and Alphabet Inc. posting lower-than-expected revenue results for the September quarter. (more)
The extreme left-wing mob that occupies space on the internet, along with the corporate media who align with the mob, view the ideological battle as a zero-sum war. Speech that stands in opposition to their efforts is labeled as violence, while violence that supports their efforts is defined as speech. They are not going to stop attacking just because Elon Musk appeals to reason or humanity.
Most modern leftists appear, at least from what is openly visible, to hold extremely unstable dispositions. Their arguments are weak and full of hypocrisy. As a result, when challenged their initial response is an emotional attack -often filled with vitriol and hate- because they have defined themselves by their belief system. The COVID-19 vaccination fiasco highlights for many of us the scale of the number of people who have lost connection to logic and discernment.
A person who willingly took the COVID-19 vaccination was in a no-retreat position. Presenting information that runs counter to their baseline assumptions was futile, they had no way to exit or reverse the decision. The ideological debate on social media is fraught with the same dynamic. When people define themselves, define their purpose, through an ideological belief system, it is almost impossible to establish communication.
The conservative believes man is born free and will be who he is, no matter what arbitrary limitations or rules are put on him. The leftist believes man is perfectible, and by extension, believes a society at large is perfectible, and command and control are justified in the quest to a “perfect” utopian society. (Sound familiar?)
The conservative tends to be more faithful – and not necessarily in God, but in the ability of the individual to find great strength in himself (or from his God) to get what he needs and to be successful. Therefore, the conservative has an outlet for his fear and disappointment – trust and faith in something bigger.
The leftist believes the system must be perfected in order to enable success. Therefore, disappointment is channeled as anger and blame at the system. Voids are left to be filled by faith in the govt, which they surely then want to come in and “fix” things. And therein lies the roots of love and fear respectively.
For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he knows he has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance. For the modern leftist, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve. Happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.
One holds himself accountable for his/her success in life. The other blames anyone and everyone but him or herself.
And there it is…. There’s where the hate and violence come from.
The leftist ideology causes that person to cast anger at the world when things go wrong or appear “unfair.” He/she constantly chooses only to see the “injustices” – and that makes for a very miserable, mean, blame-casting existence.
The world needs this change. Whether it will be possible to walk this difficult path without doing a face plant, who knows. But in my opinion, this is a big deal. I wish him the best of luck.
Sundance has read “Conflicts of Vision” by Sowell
a few years ago, a person accused me of being a homophobe.
I corrected this assumption:. I am NOT AFRAID of sick twisted perverts. you are mistaken. I have no regard for the type. no time. no energy to waste on people who are lost. it’s not fear. it’s refusal to acknowledge illegitimacy.
that’s MY CHOICE. I will live with this choice.
then the accusation follows:
you are determined to hold people back whom you disagree.
response:. NOW you are starting to understand.
point:. I’m old school. ancient old school. I don’t spend my time or my energy or my money supporting people who are defective at a fundamental level. I refuse to participate and enable what I cannot agree with. it’s that simple. it is what makes me an individual. I invest in people who make the world a better place. safe, secure, dependable, and honorable. that eliminates almost every single progressive leftie moron..and frankly, quite a number of “pretend” conservatives.
I draw lines. .they are not open for debate. God may have a plan for these people but it will not happen because I look the other way or be disengenous how and where I spend my time and money.
this is a fair and respectful principle.
after all, if my friends had decided to ignore my own serious defects and enabled them..(and quite a number did!), I would never have been challenged to make changes and become a better man.
consequences for bad behavior will never go out of style to the rational man.
the world I see has transformed into a place I barely recognize. yet I know I am not alone in this increasingly perverse society.
this is why I believe leaders must be unimpeachable. highest character..and never back down when stating hard lines …even if that draws criticism.
when I swore that solemn oath it was not to pretend when it was convenient. it really ONLY matters when you stay the course while everything around you erodes.
one day we will all be old and then die. it matters what we do and what we stand for.
I have every intention to never give in to godless heretics.

Honestly… I just don’t give a d@mn what people do.
I just want them to shut down the racket at 10PM,Sunday to Thurs, and 11PM on Fri and Sat.Keep the front yard and the front of the house clean, tidy and supporting the property values. No cars up on blocks in the driveway or anywhere they can be seen from the street. No 7/24 garage door opened while people are using it for anything other than parking cars…
It’s simple, I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your own home, so long as I don’t hear a racket and no blood/live rituals that are against the 10 commandments.
I won’t push my beliefs on your, BUT at the same time, you better STFU with your beliefs.
If you believe that you are an asexual goat and think sodomy is natural, keep it to yourself… if you so much walk outside your house dressed like a goat and/or come next to me, my family or my friends, you are exposing yourself for some serious blowback. And by that I mean serious.
Just because I adhere to live and let live doesn’t mean you can push your beliefs and perversions on me.
I believe in “lines in the sand”. Don’t cross them. You will be sorry.
There… how’s that for a Way To Live?
😉
Well you don’t try to take GOD’s place and judge people, there’s that.I have a problem with people who judge others, as they are mostly hypocrites, which includes myself at times.
The Bible teaches for people to judge and judge righteously.
You have fallen for the lie that man is not to judge. That is why this modern day church world and so called Christians are worthless.
When Jesus said “ judge not lest ye be judged “ he was strictly talking about judging under the civil law of the Old Testament which was “ an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. “
Physically stoning someone for catching them in the act of adultery etc.
Read your bible, it teaches in principle and doctrine to judge.
you have my earnest attention. Please continue. It is very important to speak these truths!
God Bless America
Asexual means not sexual. Asexuals don’t do sex. Not with men, women, goats, kids, or the dead.
You would never have a complaint against an asexual for any sexual behavior. It simply is impossible.
It’s an asexual goat…. how do you know what goats like?
Are you telling goats how to live?
Sounds like you believe Ayn Rand, who said, “I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, not ask another man to live for mine.”
AR was interesting, but a fraud to her own storied principles in real life.
You write “the world I see has transformed into a place I barely recognize”.
Me: It’s outright frightening.
The two latest targets are Putin and Kanye West (Ye).
The Cancel Culture takes bits and pieces of what their target said and extrapolates from there, no context is allowed. If you dare challenge them on a social media platform, your comment is blocked.
In the end, while we have no choice but to sit back and shut our mouths, they will cancel each other out. It is our only consolation.
Amen! I completely 100% agree with you Regitiger.
I couldnt care what the hell people do as long as they keep it to themselves and their inner circles of perverts and as long as they dont:
-Shove it in my face at every available opportunity
-Corrupt my children with their crap
-blackmail and infect the government, companies, products with their crap
… and don’t frighten the horses
I tell them I am indifferent to the discussion and not a participant. Usually gets them to stop and think.
“A person who willingly took the COVID-19 vaccination was in a no-retreat position.”
Unfortunately, the ones who did and are now sorry, would never admit that perhaps they were much too ready to roll up their sleeve and take the jab. It’s a no win situation for them. Either they admit they were snookered, or refuse to talk about it. But God forbit they apologize to anyone who didn’t go along.
I’ve never regretted taking a “pause” or a “wait and see” attitude which absolutely drove some very good friends nuts. It was at times, not easy to march to the beat of my own drummer. But I don’t regret it at all.
What bothers me is I never chided anyone for deciding/having to take it. I figured it was their choice (or for some unfortunately a requirement to keep their jobs) to do so.
I think I expected too much, but now I’m sure of where I stand and where they do.
In my mind, beyond anything healthwise, this was the most destructive thing that happened in the past two years to humanity. And for that reason, I hope Fauci, Brix, Collins, and everyone else in charge of managing this plandemic are brought to justice, if not in this life but the next. But I do believe they will pay eventually.
I have no animus against the millions of vaccinated and take no pleasure in any misfortune which may come their way but I will not tolerate their zealotry on my lawn. Do it somewhere else. Or we’ll go to God to be judged. No middle ground. Had my fill of Communists and zealots.
agree whole heartedly
I do know a lot of people who were forced to have the Jab in order not to lose employment , businesses , or simply to be allowed to do necessary things. …….. Most of these people did not want to have it , then or now , and openly say they made a wrong decision that they were forced into.
Early in the game we suspected foul play by Fauci et al but we didn’t KNOW. My wife has interstitial lung disease and not getting the shot at that time was not an option. I now have a lot more information and I have not gotten a booster and never will. But, I did get a flu shot at the VA just for the hell of it…
My sentiments exactly. Well put!
You do have problems processing reality. I took the shots because I need on going medical care. A friend of mine , who sister went to the hospital, was told they would not/could not admit her , till she was fully vaxxed. She got hes second shot, and dropped dead 48 hours later. Myself, I’m good to go, and still have access to my doctor, and hospital if needed. You really should research before condemning others.
You really should stop being so judgmental of others’ opinions.
I know people, myself included, who were banned from visiting loved ones in care. We were told that we should be shot, incarcerated, locked in our homes, and publically shunned for refusing the clotshot. We were called ‘granny killers’ and blamed for lockdowns and draconian and authoritarian totalitarianism masquerading as ‘public health.’
F the clotshot and f the selfrighteous jerks who demonized me and mine for two years for refusing the bioweapon in a syringe.
My body, my CHOICE!
And God bless the brave souls who were taken off transplant lists because they and their donors refused the clotshot. They are martyrs to the cause of unaltered humanity with untampered DNA.
Amen
Well, you certainly didn’t read her post. She didn’t condemn anyone.
Where in my comment was there any condemnation?
Many people such as yourself were FORCED to take it for just the reasons you mentioned: ongoing medical care, visiting loved ones in care facilities, etc. I strongly condemn the treatment you had to go through as did many others. Any medical procedure that has the potential to cause someone to “drop dead 48 hours later” should have just cause for a yuge lawsuit especially if it was a requirement to keep their job. The powers that be KNEW this and did it anyway and condemned and silence anyone even questioning their policies.
That is nothing like a choice, in my book.
I’m specifically talking about how I personally was treated for making my own decision with the chips falling where they did. No one came out of the last two years unscathed – vaxxed or unvaxxed. THAT was my point.
Very true. Unfortunately, it tore our family apart so much that my daughter was banned from ever seeing her two new grandsons and me my two new great grandsons. All because we didn’t get the Covid experimental injection. It breaks our hearts.

The guy has a fake car company, he might as well have a fake communications company. The taxpayers will be good for at least some of it. Maybe enough to add another few billions to his personal wealth.
Seems to me that national and multinational business which are well aligned with the State agenda, would willingly advertise on State propaganda outlets like Twitter to puff them up.
Not to defend him, but Telsa has 83 B annual revenue. What makes it fake? Over priced fad cars, yes. Fake…..GM has an annual revenue of 122 B. I loved GM until they took the bailout. What do you consider a “real” car company?
Have you ever heard of Stellantis? Did you know they are in the top 10? How about SAIC?
1. VOLKSWAGEN Revenue: $263.6 billion
2. TOYOTA Revenue: $258.7 billion
3. DAIMLER Revenue: $182.5 billion
4. FORD Revenue: $127.1 billion
5. HONDA Revenue: $125.2 billion
6. GENERAL MOTORS Revenue: $122.5 billion
7. BMW Revenue: $117.1 billion
8. SAIC Revenue: $107.6 billion
9. STELLANTIS Revenue: $104.8 billion
10. HYUNDAI Revenue: $93.2 billion
SAIC (formerly Science Applications International Corp, if I remember correctly) makes cars?
That’s news to me.
SAIC Motor Corp of Shanghai, China is a different company than Science Applications Intl Corp. of the US.
SAIC Motor Corp has a US subsidiary in Michigan. Don’t know whether they actually sell any cars in the US, though … never seen one.
When in China, I saw some of their cars, and fit and finish, their are up to any of the other’s standards. I never drove one, so I can’t rate their performance.
In China, 640 EVs caught fire in the first quarter of 2022, up 32 percent—7 a DAY
Let that sink in.
7 a day immolating the driver and passengers in many cases

I may not agree with the form factor of a BEV (*) but I think Tesla is onto something.
BEVs are expensive to manufacture, period.. so Tesla decided to sell them as powerful luxury vehicles, and at that they have wildly succeeded.
For the local metropolitan driver who seldom takes long road trips, a range of 200 miles per “tank” is more than sufficient. And luxury cars sell to people that own homes, often with large solar panel arrays.
In my part of the World, Coastal SoCal, I see Teslas are taking over Benz, Bimmer, Audi and even Lexus. Jaguar is gone. Indeed, I see homes where before you’d see the parents driving Benzes and the kids driving Bimmers now all driving Teslas.
The final nail to the Germans was the BEV Porsche. That was it.
Tesla knows their market, and it’s not the $40K segment… it’s the luxury market above $80K and the reliability of a Tesla compared to a Benz/Bimmer/Audi is actually quite good, nevermind the ride/driving qualities of having an electric motor, with no transmission, drive the wheels.
I have driven several Teslas. They have awesome torque, instant on throttle response, sumptuous interiors and abominable ergonomics. But then, I’m used to Honda ergonomics… so the Tesla compares not so bad for people used to the complicated Germans luxo rides. So, Tesla is not for me but it seems to tick the buttons of my neighbors.
But, to call Tesla a fake company is to be very ignorant. The know what they are doing and are doing it very well.
(*) We’ve had several Honda EVs: Hybrids -IMA, iMMD-, hydrogen fuel cell and now a PHEV. So we know our EVs. We don’t like the limitations of the BEV.
You are probably right tonyE.
Tesla’s are for wealthy city people who never get out much.
The wealthy rural people who like to barrel around in the mountains, who like to really get out and about to beautiful places that need 4WD would never even consider an electric vehicle.
We will pay 80K and above for our Ford trucks that will take us almost anywhere and back again.
The interior of my sons new Ford Bronco looks like the interior of a rocket ship and which can take him to the ski slopes and hiking trails in our rocky mountains (attainable only in 4WD) or it can speed along the freeways.
Very very versatile and he can gas up in the city or in a tiny little podunk town or just about any where in between.
Some onw who works at our local Walmart owns a Tesla.
My husband always make a point to park as far away from it as possible when we shop there in it catches fire.
He wants to make a suggestion for their drop-in-suggestion box that this employee be made to park in the back of the store alone so as not to endanger the customers cars, Tesla’s being a bit of a fire hazard.
Our 2015 Ford Focus SE hybrid gives us the best of both worlds. 13 gallon tank and almost 600 mpg. We’ve been quite happy with it so far. The 2006 F-250 super duty 4X4 is our other rig. Gets er done when we need to haul a load of yard debris or junk.
Fusion not Focus. *sigh*
People conflate all EVs into one big bunch: BEVs.
That is not true.
An EV is a vehicle that uses an electric motor to drive the wheels. Like a train locomotive… diesel-electric! Those are EVs too.
IMHO, an EV powertrain is specially suitable for trucks. It has all the advantages of the diesel, plus better midrange and awesome instant on throttle response (no transmission).
Once you’ve driven an EV, going into car with a transmission feels extremely slow. We have a Passport V6 and when we jump from the Clarity PHEV to the Passport, the thing feels doggone lethargic… it’s all in that crucial 0-20 mph…..
Nothing to do with barreling around, because the EV platforms are also VERY FAST.
Now then, for trucks, the deep down torque of the EV is soo right. I just wish we’d see more serial hybrids, where the engine is used as a generator and the electric motor(s) drive the wheels directly.
Instead we hear BS stories about how some one could not tow something more than 50 miles in the (B) EV truck. Well duh! How about take out the battery, put in a 2L gas motor as generator… now you’re talking bud! That truck will go around with it 500 ft-lbs of torque… even go AWD by adding more motors (*).. and when it comes time to FILL IT UP, well, just fill it up.
NOTE: Our PHEV is a hybrid of hybrids… we got it because it gets access to the car pool lanes -solo, just the driver… and if you’ve driven in SoCal freeways, that’s sticker is worth like 2000 bhp!
Bottom line? IMHO, EVs are perfect for driving, sport, long distance, you name it. They are comfortable, smooth, powerful and fairly reliable. It’s sad that the worst version, the BEV, is the one that people always think about.
In our future, I see a serial hybrid SUV with electric motors powering the rears… the Honda CRV. Unless, of course, they come out with a Passport.
You know, you ought to give that a try. The CRV serial hybrid is well under 40K..
And then you got the Accord Hybrid. That is one hell of a ride. We had two of them. Simply put, other than the Clarity FCEV, the best overall car we’ve had (and we’re up to almost 40 cars in the family by now).
(*) The dual motor Teslas are an absolute hoot to drive.
Excellent post. People often post to their own emotional likes and dislikes, but that’s not what your post reflects. I agree, there is a market for EV’s, and I am not in that market segment .
BEVs don’t make sense, BUT I think serial hybrids and PHEVs are awesome.
So are FCEVs, if the environazis hadn’t killed the hydrogen distribution.
Until shown differently, I take him at his word. Looking forward to seeing how discussions play out on his newly acquired ‘townhall’….Like it or not, Twitter and other social media have an enormous impact on our national (and not to mention worldwide) opinion, and if he does what he promised, it will be an absolute body blow to the global Left. Afterall, DJT used Twitter on a massive scale, and hopefully he and we can do so again.
I agree. I’m going to give him some time and the opportunity to see if he does revamp twitter. Hopefully he will fire the 75% of excess liberal baggage that twitter now employs so revamping will be possible. Wait and see like everything else but at least give him the chance to sit in his office before you are against it.
If twitter is reformed, WE WILL HAVE THE DEBATE that never was allowed to take place
ABOUT EVERYTHING.
I agree twitter holds great promise.
I will also note: I have no intention whatsover participating in it or any other “social” experiment.
I am a simple person. I do not need to have my values and principles checked or my esteem measured in votes or the wasted hours spent because “someone is wrong on the interwebs”
I turned down my internet 7 years ago. So much more accomplished.
I used facebook for exactly two months when it first came out. Made contact with lost friends.
then turned that off once I did.
never looked back.
It’s like driving in circles around a shopping mall.
okay, I get it ..it’s a shopping mall. I don’t need to make circles around it again to check and see it’s still there.
to be clear, the most important decision I have made in all the time that the internet was developed was discovering and participating right here at CTH!
this is home. where real issues and real journalism that matters happens.
I pray daily this continued and that it influences others to dive into the worthwhile professional career of investigative journalism.
if we are a Nation of Laws, it is only made possible by a well informed citizenry.
as described by our founders, there was a very deep and fundamental reasons why they all realized and then wrote into our constitution protections of the press.
God Bless America
Hope for the best outcome, but plan for the worst..
“Si vis pacem, para bellum”
That has to be the most effective and succinct explanation of the differences between leftists and conservatives. I am book marking this one for rigorous future use.
.
Okay, so I’ve been reading everyone’s comments and thinking…
Right now, twitter is a non-financially-viable platform. Advertising does not come close to covering its costs, let alone making a profit.
Right now, twitter does two things. (1) It’s used by the Deep State/IC to develop and push out media propaganda under cover of being a townsquare commenting forum where knitting groups etc. intersperse their innocuous chitchat. (2) It’s a massive tracking and data collection center where information about even those who are not subscribers gets collected and saved every time a twitter link gets clicked (including, inter alia, all twits viewed, and where they were first posted and more, depending on the link info, and the IP addy and location of the user.)
Musk implies that he will somewhat diminish (1) by eliminating bots and expanding voices on both sides, under the guise of pretending that the data collection is all about advertising. Meanwhile, even in this seemingly harmless comment, he indicates that more data collection will help with targeting advertising. In the recent past he also has indicated that he would use twitter to expand its “services” — financial transactions similar to paypal, e.g. Maybe subscription services for pay. Paid promoted and elevated twits. Maybe user groups. Maybe some kinds of things now similar to FaceBook. Maybe a summary news service. Maybe a shopping cart service… Whatever.
None of this fixes the problem Sundance repeatedly has pointed out, as far as the touted free speech platform, which is the currently unworkable business model. Rather, it provides a jumping off point to massively expand the avenues for data collection and consolidation.
But it would be expanding out functions under the ostensible reformulated guise of a new, fairer town square. Come one, come all. “We’re safe now”.
What Musk has bought himself is a massive bargaining chip to use with, for, and against governments that would benefit his other global enterprises. At the least. Even if Musk and his intentions were pure as the driven snow, is there any guarantee that he personally would remain in charge… forever?
Twitter, FB, etc. burgeoned because of the appeal to people who do not — or could not be bothered to — write articles or establish their own websites or blogs or even write commentary on others’ websites or an email or letter; these platforms enabled them to be able easily to publish their (very very) limited comments on this or that matter to a small or large group or even “the world”. Compelling. Addicting. A no-effort way to opine. No need to spend more than a minute, no need even to travel to a real town hall.
I’m unconvinced that willingly joining into a massive data collection, tracking, and consolidation system is worth being able to quickly utter a rapidly-subsumed (but forever discoverable) usually undeveloped, not infrequently thoughtless, few words is worth the trade off. The over- over- over- overwhelming vast majority of tweets and responses to them are just not all that informative or important.
.
Very good. Thought provoking analysis.
If I may:
3) twitter operates one of the largest most successful money laundering operation for marketers and advertisers. In other words, LOSING MONEY AT TWITTER, IS PART OF THE PLAN.
How does this work?
lets say you are a multi billion dollar ad and marketing company (hello google and it “contractors”). How do you unwind your taxable exposure? You lose money. You write it off as a loss. But IS IT ACTUALLY A LEGITIMATE LOSS? To understand THAT question, ask yourself this simple questiuon:
how do ad and marketing companies spend Billions upon Billions of Dollars each year and still show a profit?
answer: they don’t actually spent Billions. They report they have spent that amount.
money laundering. perfectly “legal”
4) twitter, like all social media platforms makes it REAL MONEY by openly scrapping user data and selling it …Who would buy this? USG and foreign powers. Perfectly “legal”. Now when I say REAL MONEY, what I am referring to of course is POWER, INFLUENCE, ACCESS…a TOP SEAT AT THE TABLE.
twitter is peculiar is only one aspect compared to all other social media: It has not REPORTED a good quarter of profits to the SEC since inception. This has drawn a keen interest into the inner working of twitter. (elon musk namely). But it has also RENEWED AN INTEREST from investigative journalists who are genuinely interested in knowing just how the ad and marketing money schemes actually work.
jmho
God Bless America
So how does the company they didn’t pay ad money to file taxes? The money the companies spend on ads turns up as revenue for the social media company which the IRS checks.
And so you post in here, quite possibly displaying a total lack of self awareness !
And possibly you use a cell phone, that can /is used to do exactly you say can be done by twittering.
Also some of us are not capable of setting up our own blogs, or writing extensive posts or articles. Try understanding the world outside of your immediate self!
I remain skeptical of Elon Musk, as his background is suspect. Is it possible to have an epiphany? Yes, of course. The flip of that is — does a tiger truly ever change its stripes?
A recent video from James Corbett highlights past statements & actions by Elon Musk:
https://www.corbettreport.com/musk/
The video is approximately an hour in length, and the beginning is extremely hokie — which is not Corbett’s norm — and it distracts from the video’s substance.
Description: Elon Musk is back in the headlines again (not that he ever really went away). He’s going to save free speech on Twitter (honest)!
He’s going to end the war on Ukraine (that he supported with Starlink)!
He’s going to give Taiwan to the Chinese (and not just because of Tesla’s Shanghai factory)!
Yes, Elon Musk is a WEF Young Global Leader and a self-promoting charlatan who would have amounted to absolutely nothing without unrelenting support from government and his globalist pals, and he is the next white hat savior who is being set up to mislead the masses with their next hopium fix.
But as James peels back the layers of this technocratic huckster, you’ll find that it’s even worse than that . . .
again, he will do what obama allows him to do.
I will take a wait and see attitude
however, I have no skin in the game since I do not post on twitter
The “work ethic molecule” is terribly oversized in the diagram..
It is very easy to stereotype liberals and conservatives from social media and media stories. In real life, there is quite a bit of variation and I find it hard to categorize people. Without saying who these are, I will give a couple of examples of people I know well.
Person A – grows a huge garden and orchard, keeps goats, built a barn, built an apple press for gallons of apple cider that he makes and helps others make, does some black-smithing. Cans and freezes – is a fairly big prepper. He has overcome real adversity – a medical condition that nearly killed him as a teen. Conversation filled with what he has accomplished recently. Will help anyone. BUT – he is solidly Democrat, refuses to consider any conservative ideas, believes that it would be okay to pay reparations to people of color, thinks we are helping the unfortunate when we allow immigrants into our country, is not at all worried about inflation – just goes to stores and buys whatever he wants, and thoroughly believes in climate change propaganda. Watches MSNBC and sometimes PBS for news; listens to NPR radio. Believes that Trump is awful and has gotten away with many crimes, Russian collusion, lying, and even rape because he is rich.
Person B – Grossly overweight alcoholic who spends her days watching television, eating, and sitting outside drinking, smoking, and cursing at people who walk by her house. Whines about her husband being gone with his sister or mother, whines about how this or that person must have money, complains about all the neighbors. Says she is overweight because of genes (not the amount of beer she drinks all day). Has now received “her disability” based on her back problems from the overweight and the falls due to being drunk. She is unhappy and defensive. But she is a solid Republican voter and believes that the ills of our country today are due to Biden policies.
There are many of these person “A” types where I live on Cape Cod… essentially have an altruistic thing about them, and if you had to describe their outlook on a bumper sticker it would be “Jesus was a liberal”…. they exist in “safe” places that has not been tainted by their policies. They are literally lambs in appearance living the veneer of “liberalism works.”
Anyone else notice this:
In any given area, there is an ENCLAVE, where the people who live there’s
relative wealth shields them from whatever else is affecting others that
might only live a mile away.
I’ve been noticing it around Atlanta for decades. Areas where the income
levels are about 20-60% above the median seem to have this force field around
them. Due to that, lately these same areas have yards full of Warnock, Abrams,
and Bee Nguyen signs. Maddening.
Once you’re away from these areas, then the Republican signs appear.
Imagine the reaction if Conservatives are / when allowed back on Twitter…
The current state of the world today between Leftists and Conservatives…
“When people are presented with the alternatives of hating themselves for their failure or hating others for their success, they seldom choose to hate themselves.” Thomas Sowell “Black Rednecks and White Liberals
I don’t like Elon’s letter. I know it’s his company, he’ll do as he pleases.
We are living in a time where we are in fact polarized, navigating extremes. One person’s belief, method of governing, or life style preferences are extreme to others. They may even think immoral. Elon can’t put a friendly town square face on that w/o restricting speech.. We have to fight it out in words or comments.
I respect that his communique was to advertisers but to plain ole me, just sounded soft. Robust debate wasn’t implied. Haha
So, anyone want to predict when PDJT rejoins twitter?
The twelfth of never.
I hope PDJT remains a stalwart supporter and user of alt tech and leaves old-tech social media behind for good. Even with Musk in the owner’s chair, Twitter is still Twitter. PDJT has done fine without it.
If PDJT has done so great w/o twit, then why do his TS posts need to be reposted to a twit account before half the people even get see them?
it depends entirely on the success of truth social media.
from a strategic pov, President Trump has to realize that he has the potential of recapturing the GLOBAL stage again by rejoining twitter. I just don’t see how he can do that with Truth.
as far as IF twitter will restate President Trump with new management?
count on it.
but it will ultimately be up to President Trump. He will have to concede he just can’t have the proper global stage with Truth.
He can do both, which would be awesome. He was doing that well before…twitter, facebook, instagram, etc.
the “reason” for truth may not exist anymore if Twitter *under new mgmt* flips the switch back on.

If Twitter is government-controlled through government servers and constantly monitored by the same people who lied about him and spied on him, why should President Trump ever choose to go back to Twitter?
Ostensibly, Musk’s direction makes business sense: Cut costs (75% labor reduction) and increase market share (welcome conservatives back to the site).
In reality while those are great business moves, one has to wonder if the real motivation is simply to get those pesky conservatives back under Twit’s microscope. (as he notes that laser-focused adverts are really CONTENT).
How does one do laser focused advertising? By instituting greater (deeper) tracking and individual file building
This can only be achieved through greater surveillance of the individual user.
Musk wants to know what makes EVERY individual tick, as this is the greatest POWER one can hold.
Greater than obscene wealth.
It’s Madison Avenue on steroids and meth at the same time.
What else explains why Musk is paying at least TWICE what the market thinks the platform is worth?
He sees something of great value (and loves playing the “Hero” who is gallantly, and at great expense, opening the public square to all for a “Warm and friendly experience of your choice.”
Buyer beware—-, if the “service” is free, then YOU are the product!
Let’s say you are responsible for a Big intelligence budget that supports Twitter as part of your information gathering.
Would you rather have everyone use it or only half the population?
There…. if your priorities are intelligence information you don’t care much about political wars, you want information, period.
So, IMHO, this is what’s happening. The Deep State doesn’t care, or really need, the Far Left or even the Progressive politicians. They get funded by both sides. So their investment in supporting Twitter is a much better ROI if more users are in it.
I very much doubt the newly created “Right” leaning social media uses any Deep State resources.
I think you are on to something there…. You cant have META data on all if only one side is participating. Stage 1 kick us off to hide their intentions until they get a grasp of all the levers of control. Stage 2 invite us back in so they can monitor and take us down more efficiently.
The leftist brain depicted is missing the coward lobe.
Can’t wait for the termination letters twittered out. Then the relocation from Commiefornia to Texas.
Well, if the snowflakes that moved here and turned my Golden State into Calimexistan go back to where they came from…
…it’s fine with me.
I love my California. The way it was not so long ago.
This is still America and we can do what we want with the money we earn. If Elon takes the risk he takes the rewards.
Good luck Elon – make America Great Again – whether we like it or not Social Media is here to stay.
Heavy drinking of Wild Turkey 101 and tweeting obscenities at Communists is the way to go. If you’re gonna go down, wreck the place.
Musk’s point about right and left-wing echo chambers is undeniably true.
for the most part it is true.
this will always be the problem for major corporate size global “news” and social media orgs. they serve “the masses”, but rarely if ever spend the time or the energy to investigate and get into details that matter. It’s consumer production scale information.
Elon is right to suggest that twitter can serve a larger social “good” by not delimiting speech.
but..and this is important to understand:
twitter by design and structure cannot ever become a good source of investigative journalism.
it can be a great global discussion “townhall”. but over what? what will the discussions be about?
kanye west? the kardashians.
joe malarkey’s latest dotard moves?
a true townhall is informative to the details that matter the most to human beings.
twitter is more or less like a giant tent, with 99 percent carnival freak shows and maybe 1 percent of reliable and informative content that matters.
this is WHY I do not social media. it’s worthless.
it is the same reason why I do not watch “cable news”. also worthless.
in a 24 hour cycle for both, you get 23 hours and 55 minutes of complete bull corn and if lucky some truths for those 5 minutes..if you find the patience to wade through it all to find it.
this is why online orgs like CTH are such a blessing. It’s specific and legitimate, and the content is well formed and investigated. What happens here is the product of many people, namely SUNDANCE, who are working very hard to get THE NEWS..the actual meaningful substance of a issue and not cloud it with bull corn.
In print, on the internet, I can read it at any time…I don’t have to thread my daily routine around some special “hour” to get the scoop.
God Bless America
“I’m not getting what I’m entitled to, so we need more system to destroy the system to fix the system.”
(“All the other times didn’t have True Communists like us, so this time our Green Leap Forward has to work!”)
I suppose this is an appropriate place to unload my personal objections to participating in social media. I realize people enjoy using it, so they will always be able to come up with reasons they perceive as advantages for doing it. But the central analogy in Musk’s message is a fallacy. No form of social media that exists or has existed is or can be made to be a “digital town square”, because there are too many insurmountable, fundamental differences in intent AND in the form/expression/interface.
In an ACTUAL town square, you can stroll in and out anonymously and look in windows or stores without having to buy. You don’t have to fill out a card with your address (cookies) saying “I was here.” The merchants aren’t going to follow you around stuffing coupons in your pockets, or placing ads in front of your face so you can’t proceed without reading them.
In an ACTUAL town square, the system is supported by commerce, but the customer is in control of when to be involved in trading, and there’s no cost but time if you want to sit on a bench, feed the birds and people-watch instead.
The DIGITAL TOWN SQUARE is not meant to be a town square. It is a MARKETING PLATFORM, delivering entertainment content in return for volunteering to be sold to. The most offensive sentence (to me) in Musk’s message was the assertion that “highly relevant ads are actually content”, as if that automatically makes the ads less irritating, more truthful or more valuable beyond profiting the merchant. As if we should be obligated to ENDURE being sold to in order to earn the right to share opinions, or to view the entertainment content. If TWITTER was to be labeled truthfully and transparently, it would be called “1950s TV for One”. You can use a “mute” button (ad blockers), but the sellers won’t ever stop trying to get around it.
Then there’s the secondary moral problem of the intent of the platform. At its core, the interactive process of Twitter exists not to share “news” or ideas, but to spread GOSSIP. Gossiping is sinful, period. Rumor, false witness, unverified and unverifiable information is the bulk of what’s there to read – besides the ads you can’t escape.
I’m not buying the “whataboutisms” (I met some great pals there, I found out about a great new medicine etc.) BS! It may be pleasurable, but so is having sex with someone else’s hot, willing spouse. Doesn’t make it right to cheat if you promised not to. We who intend to live a more righteous life on purpose, in the fear and respect of God, should AVOID gossip in all forms. I’m not going to risk a black mark by my name in the “big book” over a danger I can easily bypass. NO TWITTER EVER.
“A person who willingly took the COVID-19 vaccination was in a no-retreat position. Presenting information that runs counter to their baseline assumptions was futile, they had no way to exit or reverse the decision. ”
So many gender dysphoric people who undergo gender affirming medical treatment often regret the decision and wish they could undo it. Talk about blowing up the bridge behind you and being in a no retreat position! Some things cannot be undone. I wish Musk well in pursuit of the goal but, remain pessimistic about it like you. The disparaging term snowflake fits them. They cannot live in an open society with free speech when they believe certain speech to cause them mental harm. Aristotle remarked that it was the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. And yet, they claim intellectual superiority as if by birthright unable to even hear a contrary word.
At the heart of the modern leftist belief system lies the idea that anyone, or any group of individuals, that I perceive as more fortunate than MYSELF should pay a price for such outrage. Traditionally such belief system has been known as ENVY.
Look for another fire and brimstone red light sermon from the dementia in chief.
This is probably aimed at twitter, and Elon Musk, who takes over before midterms.
Put it this way–I’d rather have Musk owning Twaddle than any of the other scumbags
Twitter blocked me shortly after it blocked President Trump. I have never looked back. Occasionally someone will post something with a link to a twitter post or video. I rarely look at it. I don’t need twitter.
I have CTH, Truth Social, Gab, Gettr and Telegram and I am considering removing Telegram.
“In the modern era few, if any, large advertisers want to enter this mosh pit political brawl.”
This statement is simply not true. Large advertisers have to deal with the left wing advertising industry, which is dedicated to destroying anyone who opposes the left wing agenda. Just look at TV ads. They are a 3 ring circus of left wing debauchery and gaslighting. If all you knew about this country came from watching TV ads you would think that this country is 75% black and 25% gay. White males are consistently depicted as simpletons, cucks or intrinsically evil.
The fact is that most major corporations in this country have no problem engaging in left wing posturing. They virtue signal every chance they get, even when it hurts their bottom line.
Wise words. Thank you.
CEO, CFO, and head of legal are gone. Escorted out.👏🏼
Also, Tesla engineers are looking at Twitter’s code.😁

I thought others would be posting this news. Too bad it’s so far down the CTH article list. SD will probably post something about it later. The CEO’s welcoming and kind words to Musk didn’t fool him I guess.
Musk must have replacements ready. If not chaos could erupt.
