The US was having military exercises in this area on Sept. 2. But the situation is a bit more complex…..NS2 was never online and NS1 was only pumping at about 20% capacity. The destruction of these pipelines will not affect Russia (and all Russia had actually needed to do was shut them off to deprive flow). So, who suffers??? Germany. And ‘The Pipe” from Norway to Poland, miraculously opens on the same day that NS1 and 2 are destroyed. The history between Poland and German is not pleasant, and Poland would be quite pleased that Germany now must come to them for gas.

If it wasn’t a US Op, they were certainly told about it in advance. Coupled with Biden and others public statements regarding Russia invading Ukraine and its impact on these gas lines, it should be listed as further provocation vs Russia.

The fact that it could be seen as acting against Russia’s interests is irrelevant. Putin’s best position right now is to be able to let Europe freeze while blaming America for it! He can still do whatever he wants about Ukraine!
If he was smart enough to blow it in a slowly repairable way, he may even increase the value of his energy asset, get his desperate customers to pay for bringing it back on line, and give Slow Joe a black eye. He can live in that brief patch!
