National Grid and Eversource are the two major electricity providers for Massachusetts. Both companies have notified the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) that rates for electricity are about to skyrocket.
National Grid has announced a 64% increase in electricity rates effective November 1st. While Eversource is on a different schedule, they too have announced an increase in natural gas rates of 38% on November 1st and the January 1, 2023, electricity rate will be announced in the next few weeks. Eversource is anticipated to announce a similar rate increase to National Grid. WATCH:
Both major power companies rely on natural gas to create electricity. Thanks to Joe Biden’s energy policies, which includes the massive export of natural gas in LNG form, domestic prices for natural gas have skyrocketed and will continue increasing as production is further shut down by regulation.
We are helping the EU survive their sanction driven energy crisis by sending them natural gas (LNG format), while simultaneously forcing Americans to pay more in order to maintain the EU export. Everything about the process is FUBAR.
Massachusetts – […] National Grid said the monthly bill of a typical residential customer using 600 kilowatt-hours of electricity will increase from $179 last winter to about $293 this winter, an increase of about 64%. National Grid said the delivery portion of electric bills will basically remain flat.
“National Grid buys electricity on behalf of its customers from the wholesale power market through a regulatory approved process established 20 years ago. That process has served customers well over the years and provides flexibility for unforeseen events, like limited supplier response to solicitations. But things have fundamentally changed,” Helen Burt, the company’s chief customer officer, said in a statement. “Today, under a sustained, high market price environment, it is challenging to maintain affordable prices. Given that, we think it’s a good time to work with our regulators and other stakeholders to review the process and electricity supply dynamics in the region, with an eye toward reducing price volatility and maintaining a secure, reliable and resilient energy system for the future.”
The company also announced that its natural gas rates are expected to rise on Nov. 1. They said they have a pending proposal with the state Department of Public Utilities that would result in the monthly bill for an average Boston Gas residential heating customer using 115 therms per month of $278, an increase of $50, or 22%, compared to last winter’s rates.
Eversource, the state’s other major electric provider, said in an email that it is on a different schedule than National Grid for setting its electric rates so no increases are currently planned.
“We file electric base service rates twice per year with the DPU,” company spokesman Chris McKinnon said. “Our last change was on July 1, 2022 and our next change will be January 1, 2023, which we will be filing for in the coming months.”
Over the border in New Hampshire, Eversource announced in July that electric rates would be doubling for many residents due to higher natural gas prices fueled in part by the war in Ukraine.
Eversource did announce Wednesday that it has submitted a proposal to the Department of Public Utilities seeking to raise its natural gas rates. They said their average residential customer using 126 therms of gas a month would see an increase of about 38%, or $86 on their natural gas bill over last winter. Those rate increases would take effect Nov. 1. (read m0re)
Duke Energy will not be far behind.
Duke has nuclear
Yeah well 44% of our power here in Florida comes from NatGas.

They’re into ESG per their website
The lead news story in Massachusetts tonight was a sex scandal involving the Boston Celtics’ head coach.
In my opinion that explains just about everything.
Sex scandals can have drastic impacts on the price of energy In Massachusetts. Who knew?
Distracting the masses with panem et circences while keeping them ignorant of public policy consequences does precisely that.
Heh! Latin?! Good thing I know all of about 50 words and those are three of them. 😛
Wanted to take it back in high school (72-76) but they dropped it several years prior due to lack of interest.
Ended up taking German instead.
Well, they generate their own kind of heat.
They really are hoping if they don’t report it nobody will notice…
If that doesn’t work, they can take the Orwellian approach: ‘Your electric bill is $293. It has always been $293.’
Agatha Christy wrote an Hercule Poirot story, “The Augean Stables,” which explains that exact tactic!
Ime Udoka (Celtics coach) translates to “Ime gonna bankrupt the citizens of Massachusetts”.
They do it to themselves indeed.
Well it’s starting to get serious, we’re moving into a Third World type of Inflation Spiral.
Hopefully we’ll see some Third World type of Political Battles.
I’m just waiting for a similar announcement from Central Maine Power or Versant Power.
They also managed to block inexpensive hydopower from Quebec by not allowing easements for the powerlines. Briliant!
All part of the plan.
Some thoughts.
Last I knew Massachusetts was going to be the primary beneficiary as the easements were to build the lines to existing infrastructure that connected to there.
Easements were but one issue involved with some backroom deals along the way that are still being litigated. Local job creation, another.
Of course, having those lines built would have enabled Maine utilities to get fairly inexpensive hydropower by tapping into existing infrastructure. Nimby’s won this time.
Rhode Island is gunning for a 47 percent increase in electric rates. But don’t worry be happy. We have the first 5 ocean windmills. Whoops I mean off shore wind power.
I’m sure DWP in SoCal won’t be sitting it out. I expect nothing but collective shrugs from 50% of America, total self-denial.
I’m in SoCal but I’m with Edison. They had people canvassing my neighborhood today setting up appointments to meet with a consultant to help lower bills. The young woman I spoke with has $45k in student loan debt for a degree in animation and she doesn’t see herself working in that field ever. She was very receptive to my take on what’s happening.
Leftist in!
“…..the gubment should just print more money to pay for the gas…trumps fault anyway…why so you racisssss, gas….what shortage, my stove turns on just fine….hurrrrrrr”
Leftist out!
LOL!
Wait until they start getting their power bills, then reality sets in. Slowly one by one, did you get your power bill yet? Mine went up $150.00 dollars. Ha!
Notice how they blame Russia for a supply shortage.
I’m pretty sure we don’t buy natural gas from Russia.
Texas is sitting on an ocean of natural gas and we’re not the only state that is.
Withlacoochee electric in Florida was blaming the war in Ukraine two newsletters ago!
Those stinkin’ bastards! The math would be easier at 70%.
LOL!
“64% Increase in Electricity Rates Beginning November 1st“
Which means they won’t get the actual bill and faint until sometime in December.
“Merry Christmas!!! You owe us $$$$$ for November.”
Wonder why all those big box stores cut orders that would normally be for the Christmas rush?
They see the writing on the wall too….
Walmart usually hires 150,000 employees for Christmas help. They are planning to hire only 40,000 this year.
Will be a blue, blue Christmas.
Just in time for Christmas.
This could be an epic collapse.
Well with supply chain issues, the pickings for Christmas gifts could be limited.
Power companies need some/alot of that excess green laying around./s
I’m glad my kids are grown. My wife and I would rather do stuff than buy stuff at this point. Doing a bit less is always an option. Lots of great books still to be read.
Yep, I trust there will be many surprises after the election for those who don’t make a full time job of keeping up with the pol’s and industry’s chicanery. Like hand in glove. America.
Just in time for Election Day.
Watch the Massholes elect more democrats.
Foregone conclusion.
yep, stupid is as stupid does. And MA isn’t the only state to be dumbed down. Of course, I’m only talking about
the major cities…..I hope.
Then they can blame it on the new Republican congress.
The 70% of MA voters that vote Democrat deserve that and so much more.
My republican America First Trump supporters do not deserve this.
No, no one deserves this.
Lulu,
I believe they cut their teeth in MA, to perfect voter fraud.
NOTHING makes sense since Scott Brown.
A Kennedy can’t get voted in here.
I now reside a few miles north of Myrtle beach. I lived in Western Masshole for 72 years. We’re in our 3d year here where winter is mild but I know the winters of the north east and they can be brutal. Most of the kids have relocated south but those that remain are MAGA Patriots along with many of my friends. Your statement democraps deserve that and more is Christian like wouldn’t you say. The children feel cold and get hungry just like you. Did any of them vote? I’ll pray for you.
blah blah blah – are the children Democrats? Read for comprehension. Anyone who voted Democrat or believes in the climate scam is getting exactly what they said they wanted – and have subjected the rest of us too.
Don’t pray for me – although I’m pretty sure that’s a BS line thrown out to try and shame me – not working.
Exactly, liberals have no principles but they love to guilt-trip others.
They voted for this up there. Too bad for them. Tough. They voted for this, they celebrated the destruction of efficient coal and oil plants, actually celebrated their destruction. They can enjoy the results of their giddy behavior.
They’re no different than the people in L.A. who dislike it when drug-crazed ‘homeless’ goons fling bags of feces at them. They voted for this. They got it. They can enjoy it.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Is this Rhode Island Paul? I wondered where you ended up when I ditched American Thinker a couple of years ago.
Patrick sure looks like a concern troll.
Sadly the de-humanizing of people happens on both sides of the aisle. Hope your children will have a way to deal with the winter chills.
Here in Florida my power bill went up this month over last years and I used 20% less electricity. Probably because my pool pump died and it took me 2 weeks to get around to replacing it but ya, thinking those solar panels on the garage may not be a bad idea……
Don’t go with a “grid tie” system, is my advice.
Do your research, then build your own package.
I don’t mean make your own panels or inverters, I just mean take off the shelf components, and put them together.
Mines almost done, and will be going off-grid soon.
Most hearty agreement with you on this one – my system has been done since last year – couldn’t happen soon enough. And it’s not so much the off grid fact as the off grid mentality that really gets ya over the hump!
No substitute for doing it yourself
I am hoping I can close on a house somewhere with a VA loan before the snow flies.
This would be something I am interested in looking into, to keep the essentials running at least.
Not going to make any grand plans yet. No sense in counting chickens before they hatch with respects to finding housing.
Wait a year to buy, you may will be able to get a real bargain! Home prices almost everywhere will decline, just a function of supply & demand. Interest rates however, may be a deterrent!
totally agree. get a good inverter, Outback makes a good one, we have had no problems with it in 9 years that we have had it. Problem we have is dark winters, really dark so we usually go back on power for the winter, though the cost is low since we are set up that way. This year though I have a goal of only 1 freezer and hope that might make a difference. Of course the past 2 months have been on local power because of using the dehydrator way more than normal to get things done that would normally be in the freezer. We also have a mechanical interlock so we can switch from local to solar with just sliding the interlock to solar or local. Research for good batteries also, though they cost more if you can go with deep cycle batteries. We use less than 300 KwH per month, even with 2 freezers, a well pump and an electric fridge. Get down to that or you will be paying a lot for what you need to live your lifestyle.
Hell ya!
Electricity rates in the Northeast will be the least of their worries this winter. Wait until the heating oil and NatGas bills roll-in starting in January.
The liberals up there might have to give the Audi A8 back to the finance company so they can pay the heat bill.
Yeah, there first thought WOULD be to sit out in the A8, engine running and heater on,…kind of people that try to air up their tires with propane….
Heard about those yahoos.
It’s a wonder that they didn’t detonate those tires with a static discharge while inflating them.
A Darwin award surely lies in their future.
I hope nobody comes up with the brilliant idea of a “Propane Challenge”.
Really. That would be bad. Real bad. Please don’t get that started. I mean it. Really.
I am dreading having to fill my oil furnace next month. And the following 4 months. As a retiree, this is devastating.
My old house in Maryland used oil for central heat and hot water. I’m not sure where you are but our winters, while cold, we’re rarely frigid. It was still horrifying, especially when rates were at the $3.50 plus range. Do space heaters help you at all?
Wear layers, put up heavy curtains, plastic on windows, weather stripping on doors, reduce living space by blocking off less used areas, close doors, turn off vents in those areas, insulate attic, crawl spaces. Yes space heaters do help but they run on electric.
I’m fine where I am. We had 5 nights below freezing last winter although February was kind of cold with highs only in the high 40ies/low 50ies. Having had oil heat, I think using some electricity in one or two rooms would be less expensive than using oil to heat an entire house.
My electric bill pain is in the summer. Today was feels like 105 to start autumn. Rain just came through and the high tomorrow with very low humidity is going to be a glorious 76. I can’t wait!
Mylar blankets are cheep……less than a dollar. You can section off your house if needed……I used them during the Texas freeze a couple years ago
It just went DOWN to $4.39/ gal here.
Yikes!
That damn Putin…../s/
Not everyone in the NE is a liberal or voted for this
Massachusetts residents block construction of Kinder Morgan Northeast Energy Direct pipeline 2014-2016
https://nvdatabase.swarthmore.edu/content/massachusetts-residents-block-construction-kinder-morgan-northeast-energy-direct-pipeline-20
Sen. Elizabeth Warren:
“Across Massachusetts, residents raised significant concerns about the impact of the proposed Northeast Energy Direct pipeline on homes, businesses, and our environment. This announcement confirms what our citizens have been saying since the beginning – this project simply isn’t necessary to meet our energy needs. The Kinder Morgan pipeline was the wrong project at the wrong time, but as Massachusetts works to modernize our energy system and ensure that prices remain affordable for families and businesses, it is urgent that we upgrade aging infrastructure and invest in clean technologies of the future.”

For decades they’ve been chirping about how dirty both coal and oil are, and how everyone should switch to the savior of the day, clean burning natural gas, because it’s soooo much better for the environment than those dirty, dirty alternatives. And then, in grand unison, the choir starts singing: “Not. In. My. Back. Yard!!” Not sure those clowns ever bothered to look at a map of all the pipelines already established in the northeast.
Can stock up on coal and store for cheap. Cannot have supply buffers. Same as selling down the Petro reserve. Buffers are bad
Who knew Fauxcahontas was a stand up comic? More like stand up commie!
Bumper sticker from the 70’s.
Ban Mining! Let them freeze in the dark!
Just in time for winter. If you use heating oil, you pay through the nose. If you use electric heat, you pay through the nose. If you elect the Democrat party, you pay though the nose.
It’s looking like a pretty bleak holiday season in the Northeast US.
My nose hurts!
Because it’s frozen lol
National Grid-gas and Eversource-electric, have been emailing us for 2 months. Asking us to get on a monthly average plan, or State subsidy. Not to shy about telling us that the big ugly is coming.
Just got an email from my power company.
It said that “deferments” are no longer in play.
So, anybody who took the last, oh say 2 years off of paying their bill because of COVID
emergency status, now has the clock running and the power will be turned off.
I don’t know why I got the email, as I’ve been paying the whole time,
I assume it’s a general notification.
But Pacific Power is prepared to straight shut off power to dead beats.
Which is how it’s always been, until the past COVID crap.
That’s gonna go over real well in the culturally enriched centers of our cities.
That is why “Climate Justice and Equity Funding” has been allocated.
I don’t think my Polish heritage is gonna get me any allocations, though.
I want my WW2 reparations.
Well do not look to Germany for them. The German government is building communal warming huts and predicting 40% of the economy may go offline this winter.
Things are bad in the US, but the EU’s is white-knuckling a frayed rope.
Walk a mile in the freezing cold to get to your “communal warming center”.
Sooo German.
keeler: Climate justice and equty funding is nothing but wealth redistribution.
Correct. In this instance wealth redistribution intended to insulate the urban serfs from the disastrous economic policies for as long as possible.
TonyinLA: The rest of us will end up paying for “the most vulnerable.”
The power company is looking for a pay day, over the deadbeat accounts.
In many states, you can’t turn power off after a certain date until winter is over. They may be trying to get ahead of that date.
Not to worry. Your government will use your money to pay their bills.
See College Loan Payoff for more details on how this works.
Do they say who qualifies for the state subsidy?
Something called, ‘HEAP’.
Be careful with the monthly average plan. The last bill is the equivalent of a balloon payment.
But, we are helping spread democracy!
Its that damn Putin’s fault!
Something’s getting spread, but it ain’t democracy….
Joe Biden is a thief.
Petroleum geologist of 45 years here. I lived through the “Crash of 1987” when oil prices plummeted and the industry shattered.
What Biden & Co. has done is worse. Higher prices have not trickled down much to the actual oil patch. I’ve never seen the oil-gas industry like this, and am not sure it will recover. The ESG b*llsh*t is killing us here in Texas. Most banks won’t touch us, and the capital that drives drilling has dried up.
Some folks up north are going to “Freeze in the Dark” (from a bumper sticker circa 1990 that began with “Let the B*st*rds…”).
God save us all.
Live in Boston!
Have your electricity rates skyrocket while you charge your Tesla – good luck finding a parking spot

DemocRats can go straight to he’ll to get warm, Imo.
When Biden won two years ago I locked my gas at$.42/therm for two years. Last week it ran out and now is $.91. That is a 111% increase.
Frigging Scana….
Ouch
Won?
Meme masters out there need to create one that depicts FJB as a White Walker with title Winter is Coming.
“It is going to be dark winter…”. I think Bidumb was a year too early with that prediction.
Stolen elections have detrimental and disgusting consequences

“We saved the planet. We are saving the planet with $360 Billion to save the planet.” – Nancy Pelosi
so- do your part -taxpayer – and- again- pay more in electricity – too!
Who are we saving the planet for?
Payback for those government check handouts during COVID.
Check your bill, bet the taxes are increased as well.
Here in western Iowa, natural gas customers have had something called the “Polar Vortex” added onto bills for the last year. Hubby called to ask WTF this is. “Well, sir,” they explained. “We have to purchase gas for whole blocs of states. When North Dakota is -20 below freezing for three weeks, they use more. Instead of just billing THEM (who used it), we spread it out over every state in the bloc of states.” ONE of our bills had an additional $90 tacked on as our share of the Polar Vortex—and it was pretty balmy temperature wise in Iowa.
Per the US gov., the natural gas spot price:
January 2021: $2.71/million btu’s – about the same as 1998 – Thank you Prez Trump!
September 2022: $8.81 – Thank you Bidet!
For you liars and leftists – read for yourself – https://www.eia.gov/dnav/ng/hist/rngwhhdm.htm
Interesting that the report has that Republican elephant logo.
Do they run reports saying that their plan is to impeach and remove the regime and end the regime’s war with Russia?
No, of course not. They support both.
that is the youtube channel logo for GOP War Room.
It’s the US Dept of Energy. Go troll somewhere else. Lefty liars!
Holy how do you afford that Batman?
My service is from an electric co-op. We pay 99 cents per day for service and our winter price per kWh is .10329. Add in $2.40 for the street light and round up to help those who need it and our 600 kWh bill for 30 days would $95. I’m feeling very lucky right now.
Increases like this will truly destroy demand for everything that isn’t a necessity. Can you say it’s gong to be a hard candy Christmas?
Yeah, co-op here as well. Our supplies are coal fired, nuclear and lots of TVA hydro capacity. Not a lot of gas fired electricity compared to most areas.
Me too. NE Tennessee 👍
OBiden’s “Dark Winter” as promised— errrr Threatened.
…is someone getting angry
that that energy price increase story,
came out ‘before’ the Nov. election?
What other (old, or new) true stories are being suppressed by media etc.?
( there is more than a hunch, that the list is long, and many minds are largely unaware – again… )
hmmmm…
Seeking the whole truths…
They’ll most likely celebrate massive energy shock as proof of how good a job they’re doing.
Oh, sure. That’ll work. /s
In Northern Nevada, NVEnergy, requested a rate increase back in June of this year of 9.7% with the average customer seeing an increase of 8.12% and if approved by the State’s Public Utility Commission will go into effect in January 2023. I honestly don’t know how huge increases like in MA are going to affect people living there.
It will be the first rate increase in over a decade according to the news back when the utility notified the public of their proposed increase. At least in Nevada the public utilities must apply for a rate increase well in advance because public input is a requirement before the commission can approve the increase, so at least we have advance notice of these things. I can’t imagine what their next increase request will be.
Have already sent in a question as to how they, both the utility and commission, plan to address providing power to seniors and those on fixed incomes so they don’t freeze.
this was our utility’s request notification; hoping other States have requirements that allow for the public’s input before increases happen:
https://www.nvenergy.com/about-nvenergy/news/news-releases/nv-energy-seeks-first-rate-increase-in-over-a-decade-to-support-northern-nevada-growth
CA’s PUC has made a big deal about including public input regarding rate increases.
Every time. The PUC makes a big deal about “inclusiveness” in the decision making process.
Interesting, how each time a rate increase comes up, it goes through.
This, from a PUC and PG%E board that has overseen multiple bankruptcies of power companies
in CA.
Home solar? Personal windmills? Personal water wheels? Hamsters?
They all look great compared to what PG%E has done over the past 40 years.
Not only has the price gone up incredibly, they are largely responsible for massive, life destroying
fires. And that’s been proven in court. Ain’t no climate change.
Now, not only is the power costs out of control, PGE and other west coast power companies,
are browning out communities in severe fire danger areas when the risk is highest.
How can somebody run their well pumps, lights, charge their car (sarcasm) to escape a firestorm when
PGE shuts down the power in order to protect itself from further lawsuits?
The west coast is screwed when it comes to power.
Yes it is (west coast screwed) – PGE also owns a percentage of our NVEnergy so what happens in California eventually hits us here, just a little slower and a touch more red tape before it reaches us.
So low info voters will not see it in their bill until after the election.
Gonna be eatin’ a lot of Beans in MA.
Beans and Cabbage Monday
Chili on Tuesday
Baked Beans and Hot Dogs Wednesday
Navy Bean Soup on Thursday
Cod and potatoes on Friday
Pizza on Saturday
Chicken and rice on Sunday
Friday, Saturday and Sunday look good.
Who can afford cod?
Pintos and dried limas go a long way. We have been doing a lot of dried beans. Not because we have to but because we like them.
Straight from Dorchesta,
Hot dogs, beans and brown bread was Saturday night!
Wednesday, was ‘Prince Spaghetti Day’.
Fish sticks and french fries on Friday.
Ham on Sunday.
Switch out the fries for tater tots or mac and cheese plus add stewed tomatoes then I’m in!
The Monday through Thursday menu should help alleviate some of the natural gas shortage. <sarc>
Secession anyone?
I can’t feel sorry for the Yankees that vote for the wolf that’s going to eat them….
Democrats want us all to “transition “. Boys to girls, girls to boys. Energy independent to energy dependence.
It looks like the Snowbird RV parks in the south will fill up this winter, and most are from Canada.
Any retired people with an RV will also head south for the winter.
That’s one of the few perks I have for living here in Santa Maria, Ca. It’s only about 8 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, which is our air conditioner in the Summer, and heater in the Winter. Frost is very uncommon here, and it’s an agriculture area for the most part.
Pretty area on the central coast. I lived out there briefly in the late 90’s (VAFB). Good mountain biking down in SLO.
Wile Coyote: On the Westside of Los Angeles, we have dumpy, beat-up, old campers parking in “nice” (once upon a time) neighborhoods, bouncing around from parking spot to parkting spot, to avoid the weekly restrictions for street cleaning. I have seen the same RVs, rotating spots around the neighborhood for more more than a year, now.
Thanks to the whack jobs running our city, I can live in a trailer park without ever leaving the comfort of my own home. Noting against trailer parks; just the ones that are not supposed to be there.
thank you brandon may I have another? and another? and another?
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Think of the extra expense as doing your share, for the common good. That way, you can feel good about yourself.
Funny.
There isn’t a single poster here who virtue signals like what you are suggesting.
But, go outside our little circle, and you will find endless testimonies
about saving the world for our children and grand children.
All while consuming EVERYTHING imaginable, at a startling pace
And pinning Ukraine flags on their SM profiles.
The irony of our society cannot escape the kind of sarcasm you posit, billria.
BoBo: I appreciate your recognizing my sarcasm. Being sarcastic has its risks, in that some people might take it the right way (there I go again!)
We will see if those testimonies continue when they are cold and hungry.
There is a street near my in-laws that I have nicknamed “Ukraine Lane.” Every single house on both sides of the street have 1 yellow and 1 blue lightbulb surrounding the garage door 🙄.

There is no “FUBAR” going on. This whole thing is intentional and CRIMINAL!

Oh great. Hearings.
The GOP could win veto and filibuster proof majorities simply by pledging to remove the regime from power.
They won’t. They’re too busy getting rich off their Ukraine kickbacks.
From the article…
Representative Comer says he has two new whistleblowers that worked with Hunter and they are ready to expose it all when the Republicans take control of Congress.
Rep. James Comer: I have two whistleblowers. And I am confident they are going to come through in a Republican majority when I conduct the hearings and I have the gavel for oversight.
—-
Please! Rep. Comer, just stop with the hype.
Stop with the, we need to be in the majority, mantra.
I’m old enough to recall the gop had no plan to repeal and replace the ACA.
Good grief.
This time last year the threat from the White House was the immanent death of multitudes from Covid that never happened. But it was an incitement to stoke fear and promote useless jabs. And kill, debilitate and and set off future time bombs in countless bodies.
Now they are following the game plan to inflict real economic and physical suffering more directly and immediately.
In sync with demonizing Russia and provoking the self destruction of Europe.
Anyone who can’t see the pattern and motives is wilfully ignorant or just beyond salvation.
What will the world look like this time next year?

SO glad to be out of the Hell hole that is Massachusetts!
Natural gas prices will plummet because nobody will need to heat their homes this winter because of global warming
Or something like that
Ouch! I looked at my electric bill for last winter and found I used more than 700 Kwh in February’s bill. I am a VERY conservative user of electricity with a smaller sized house, thermostat on 68 degrees, lots of insulation, and no dryer or dishwasher use.
Many people will not be able to keep their electric bills below 700 Kwh if we have a cold winter, they have a larger house, an older house, a larger family, or more appliance use. So, there will be a lot of people who can’t afford this. Such a tragedy is about to hit the US on top of food and housing inflation.
And it wasn’t all that long ago there was celebrations all around at the closure of the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, Massachusetts. A 1,500 MW power generating facility that first opened about 60 years ago. Over time it burned both coal and oil, and saw a massive investment in technology to deal with both stack emissions and heated water being released into the bay area near what would become the end of its service life. Lots of money spent for no return.
SloJoe made a point of going there in July of this year to remind us of how lucky we are to have his climate agenda.
Brayton Point was an efficient plant whose operators did everything the eco-freaks demanded including building those two massive six hundred foot tall cooling towers to avoid heating Mount Hope Bay with condenser discharge, as if fish somehow dislike in warm water.
These creeps are not out to save the planet. they’re goal is to destroy everything and replace it with nothin.
Don’t forget their profiteering.
And Pilgrim nuclear plant too.
