Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age 96. She was the longest living monarch in history. At 6.30pm her death was confirmed. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said:
‘The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow’.
Her son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, is now King. He will address the shocked nation imminently, as the world grieves Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
Queen Elizabeth’s children, and Prince William and Prince Harry, had rushed to her bedside at Balmoral after doctors became ‘concerned’ for her health. Hours later she died, surrounded by her family.
The Queen’s death will see Britain and her Commonwealth realms enter into a ten-day period of mourning as millions of her subjects in the UK and abroad come to terms with her passing. And as her son accedes to the throne, there will also be a celebration of her historic 70-year reign that saw her reach her Platinum Jubilee this year – a landmark unlikely to be reached again by a British monarch.
The Queen’s passing came more than a year after that of her beloved husband Philip, her ‘strength and guide’, who died aged 99 in April 2021. Since his funeral, where she poignantly sat alone because of lockdown restrictions, her own health faltered, and she was forced to miss an increasing number of events mainly due to ‘mobility problems’ and tiredness.
But she was well enough to meet with Boris Johnson at Balmoral to accept his resignation, before asking the 15th Prime Minister of her reign, Liz Truss, to form a Government.
Her Majesty, who stood with the support of a stick and smiled as she greeted Ms Truss in front of a roaring fire, had not been seen in public for two months. It would be her final picture.
My condolences to a classy woman.
We felt, in this half British household, after Philip passed away, she would not be far behind. We could see her visibly shrinking, sitting by herself at his funeral.
We are devastated. She fulfilled her Oath, no matter how many times people suggested she should break that Oath and step down.
Fickle history placed on her an incredible burden which she never complained about. Others could learn from her sense of duty and her performance of it. For us, even though we were expecting it, this is very very hard to take in.
May God rest her soul, as she joins her beloved Philip who no doubt was waiting for her. I pray so.🙏
She seemed like a wonder full Lady.
So sad to read this, Queen Elizabeth was one of those people I really wish could have lived forever.
The world is shifting under our feet, Chloe. We all feel it. She was wonderful and so much loved. Nothing stays the same. All is change. Nevertheless, this is a very hard loss for Britain. And for us in this house.
My Heart’s In The Highlands
My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart’s in the Highlands, a-chasing a deer;
Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,
My heart’s in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
Farewell to the mountains, high-cover’d with snow,
Farewell to the straths and green vallies below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods,
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.
My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart’s in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
My heart’s in the Highlands, wherever I go.
~~Robert Burns
The Queen felt most comfortable, most at home at Balmoral. I think she knew her days were at an end, as she moved to the place she loved. We are so glad for her that she was able to end her wonderful days on this earth by passing away in the one place that took her heart.
Requiescat in pace.
Ah, Robbie Burns, lovely and perfect. Yes, Balmoral was her home here on earth. Now she will rest eternally in her heavenly home. G-d bless.
I posted that because of her deep love of the Scottish Highlands. I’d like to think she’d approve.
She managed to hang on long enough to ensure the ongoing government for the people.
She looked as well as any 96 year old woman could when she received the new Prime Minister. And two days later she is no longer here.
This is why I suspect…hope… she peacefully passed away in her sleep.
I am very affected by the Queen’s death. She was a lighthouse in the storm.
She was that, linwik, even in the midst of her own personal problems. She was the quintessential stiff upper lip of the British long ago.
Her motto was :
Never complain, never explain.
Betsy, I am praying with you. You are right. In my life, I have seen this happen several times, where someone in a good couple who truly love each other passes away- then the other one feels so sad they go within one or two years. It tears me up every time I see it happen. However…
Couples like that then come back together in Heaven, for all of Eternity. A huge, wonderful, Eternal place. I am not perfect, but I must have done something right because as I have stated here before- in the most amazing and beautiful moment of my life, while meditating, my soul left my body and traveled across the Universe (Creation, with no limits of space or time) to meet God in person.
I mention it a lot not because I am a narcissist (I am not) but because I want my testimony to help other people to reach the beautiful, Eternal, amazing place I have seen (Heaven), and God.
Good people go there. Heaven is all about Love and Beauty. The Satanics will never see it because they think everything is about them. It is not.
I hope (and feel) Elizabeth and Philip made it there. Love (the reason God created the Universe, he told me so himself!)
What a lovely post, Guyver.
I feel they did as well. The one hope that makes this sad day bearable for us, and I’m sure the British people whom she loved.
She was a lovely lady. And your tribute, equally as beautiful. She put her people first. I give her own mother, Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, King George’s wife, much of the credit…
They say I am half Irish, I identify has half Scots, given clan locations/back and forth movements etc…the other half, kiwi out of Shepton Mallet.1700’s..go figure…anyway, wiping my leaky eyes right about now, Charles has to guarantee the security of the Church of Scotland.
I hope Charles is up to the task, Long live the king. Uneasy lies the head…..

How apt your last phrase, Aggiegirl. No one can take her place. She really was a one of. And Britain will now be the poorer for her loss. I believe not even they know how much. Bless you, my friend.
She got double rainbows, I imagine one was God and the other Philip.
What a wonderful thought, Leaves. Just beautiful.
double rainbow over the Thames
Oh my goodness!
That double rainbow moved over to Buckingham Palace. Remarkable.
Wow that is incredible. RIP Queen Elizabeth.
So beautiful and symbolic. That sent chills down my entire body!
OhNoYouDoNot, definitely a message from God. How do I know?
After meeting God in person, I do not hesitate to go out when he calls me to see what he wants to show me- the beauty of the Universe.
About 4 years back, all of a sudden I felt I had to go out to the break area outside at the north end of the building I work in. It was not breaktime, I could have got in trouble, but I have learned that if God wants to show me something, I need to go along immediately in order to see it. And I did.
So I went out. Amazing, something I had never seen before in my entire life- a rainbow that stretched straight from the north to the south. Right over my head and the building I work in. Amazing, beautiful. That is why I know the rainbow in the picture above is a message from God.
Disgusting!
Lydon was/is a nutjob pos and you quote him like he’s a God. Get real.
Didn’t Charles abdicate or decline the thrown a couple years ago? Or am I losing my mind?
There may have been talk of it but he never did.
Unfortunately, no.
No, only Megan Markle’s Harry consort abdicated.
The world’s loss.
Condolences to family and nation.
How unfortunate that the new King is a globalist shill for climate change scams and other woke strategies. UK preparing to shift even harder left. I look for Charles to forge a bond with Markle now.
Not a time for such talk. Respect this death please, and the multitudes of English heritaged people who experience this as a loss. She was the best example of my people, my tribe and she deserves time to be mourned before angry people seek to interject politics into this.
It also isnt a comment section for fools to trash the heritage of others here. Go somewhere and take your own advice. Sounds like you belong on Gateway Pundit if they cater to ignorant morons, not me.
You are the one doing the trashing; as usual.
Hey I was born in London and spent the first 21 years of my life there. I would love to see the monarchy disolved.
P
He wasnt making a point. He was making mischief, that is all.
Well Meghan told friends after she married Hazmat: “We are only one plane crash away from the throne”
So the Queen ordered William not to travel with his whole family by plane
Lady C discussed this in one of her videos
Meghan is VILE
The greatest tribute the new king could pay his mother would be to reinstate sanity in his policies and think first of the people and not the globalists. The whole world is paying tribute to her today.
From your lips to God’s ears. And her tribute is well deserved. What a loss for those of us of English heritage who maintain a love for our own people.
Well said with CLASS.
You are correct and you need to mourn her. That won’t stop the wolves now gathering at England’s front door. The great iron wall of strength called Elizabeth holding them back is gone.
They must be defended against and it is dubious who will be there to do it. My condolences on your great loss.
Not today, not now, please.
This thread will be carefully monitored….all day.
My British prayer partners are asking for prayers for comfort at the loss of their beloved Queen and prayers for protection from the potential damage the incoming king might inflict based on his Leftist politics.
Thank you. Its not the time for it!
How kind you are, Ad rem. Thank you.
Thanks for taking down the John Lydon post. That was ridiculous.
If one would want to respectfully and somberly reflect on the passing of a 96 year old monarch, maybe go to a prayer closet and sit in solitude rather than signing in to read all the comments section of CTH? Geez people, this IS a political site.
Let freedom ring.
Yes. The WEf must be dancing with glee right now because they know they have England under their control completely for the foreseeable future. Charles will push the green agenda, no question. He does not understand like his mother did, that to take sides with radical ideology is not what the monarchy should do. They need to put country first and be as neutral as possible with very controversial subjects, in most cases. He does not come across as very bright unfortunately or a defender of his country and it’s history. His son would be more of a unifier and is well liked by the people. Unfortunately, Charles is not giving this opportunity up any time soon I don’t think.
I wonder how popular he really is. The PR people for “the firm” will have to work some overtime, am thinking.
In her younger years, she was a dream to behold. But age comes for us all… I see it in the mirror every morning… but only in the mornings. It’s all I can take.
May the Queen rest in peace.
She and President Trump clearly “got along” as he famously often says about many people – in her case, I think it was a bit clearer.
People who keep their promises even in the face of great difficulty are to be admired. The Queen made good on her youthful promise to serve her people which Her Majesty did with devotion and dignity, a truly remarkable woman of grace. Rest in perfect peace dear lady.
His mother was a Scot. He inherited his love for the Queen from her…and she adored the Queen.
I have a couple of pictures of Mr Trump and the Queen which I keep on my phone.
In one at the State Dinner held for him, she has obviously said something which tickled him. She’s smiling, and he is laughing up a storm. I can’t look at it without smiling myself…broadly.
In the other, he, Melania, and the Queen are standing where he was received on his trip. He’s so tall, and age has taken its toll on her height. As she looks up at him, the wide smile and crinkling eyes say everything. A most wonderful picture.
I’ve never seen such bonhomie on her face when receiving other Heads of State. Smiling? Yes.
But the sheer pleasure she had in his company written all over her? No.
I think they “got on an absolute treat” (as we said in Britain).
Oh boy …. RIP , why do I feel so sad ?
Because we all feel sad. We’ll not see anyone like her again.
Indeed! From Winston Churchill to the sick leftist elected 2 days ago.
I get the feeling that the UK has lost a lynchpin that was holding that union together.
I suppose if I just confirmed Liz Truss as the new PM, I would just give up on life too.
I just don’t see anyone in the UK government who has the gravitas to lead the country through this. Johnson had the oratory ability, but governed like a progressive and WEF supplicant/puppet. It would have been too much to see Johnson preside over this transition with the oily way he governed.
Nigel Farage seems like the only person over there with any appeal/relationship to the conservative public (what remains of it) and who understands the magnitude and history of the moment … so, maybe he might be able to serve as a lynchpin?
Me too.
Klaus Schwab is 84 years
About 83 years too long then.
His departure can’t get underway soon enough.
I’m crying. She was a long hard worker who was committed to her country and her people. She was born one month after my dad who died last year. I think of all the many women, young ladies, who practiced their curtsies in joyful anticipation of their being presented to The Queen.
When Prince Charles married his paramour the people were PROMISED that Camilla would never be the “Queen Consort”; you could see this coming, but it’s still a major stick in the eye of the British.
epitome of class and elegance.. godspeed Queen
I believe she is now reunited with Philip, whom she deeply loved.
Ya she got to marry the person she loved , to bad she couldn’t certain members of her family do the same
Condolences to our friends across the pond 🇬🇧🇺🇸
RIP lifelong mystery woman. Imagine getting to 96 in the public eye without anybody able to pin you down, except in their fevered imaginations.
And that’s a terrific last photo.
Always a handbag on her arm.
And a hat on her head when outdoors.
We were supposed to lose interest in Kings and Queens some time around 1776. I’ve never been even the slightest bit interested in British Royals.
But the K.C. Royals were terrific in the 80’s!
Who said? My people have lived in NC since the 1660’s. While the Revolutionary War and our independence may mean my family were no longer British subjects, we have ALWAYS remained part of the English people.
You disparage your own tribe and people. And STFU about mine. Please and thank you.
My family landed in VA in 1652 from Scotland cause they were tired of being slaves to the Crown
We are probably cousins then. ,We had our share of Scots in our family. And the British Monarchy did lose its way after separating from the Church of Rome, in my opinion. But we are all British in the end.
Hmm… but I thought Cromwell fought a war against the Papists and the influence of the French on the English monarchy…. the whole point of the Puritans was to leave the Papist influences and move somewhere, far away, from the control of the English monarchs.
So McBooger71 is correct. His Scottish roots were to leave the tyranny of the English.
I suppose we could argue about the Papists vs. the Church of England and how that affected the make up of the Eastern American colonies, but I’m still not over the day that fool of Ferdinand married Isabella, about 600+ years ago, and sold Catalunya to the Castilians.
The Church of England was never ruled by the Pope, therefore the term Papist is incorrect. Cromwell was Church of England, and fought against the Monarchy, not the Pope. The Puritans were escaping the Church of England, not the Pope.
“McBooger”……ha ha…..Keep this title from clever tonyE to honor your awesomeScottish roots.
Anyone sympathizing with the Crown whilst living in the USA has some issues at hand. Albeit we know the British have secret agents roaming round the USA who often collaborate with Hillary and other Democrats anti Americans…. to undermine our Country and President Trump, so you know there are gonna be a few posting on here as well.
And of course the USA has no agents roaming around England and other countries at all. Right? We don’t do that stuff. Come on dude. Did they try and undermine PTrump? Was it their IC people along with OUR OWN IC people trying to undermine PTrump? Seems we need to be careful how we choose to accuse countries of doing shady things.
She was an historical figure, beloved by her country and she died. She greatly influenced the world for 70 years. Respect their mourning at least. It’s the Christian thing to do and the moral thing to do.
Hey! I’m an American and all I can say about the English is that if it had been the Catalan Armada (*) y’all English would have much, MUCH better food, better teeth, colder beer and much better football (I mean, Pep Guardiola is from Barcelona).
My wife, too, before she came to the US, had no clue what Europeans were like (hint: she did know about Americans.. she thought America was like the Brady Bunch!).
(*) Not the hegemonist
SpanishCastilian ArmadaHow about the Kardashians?
Charles is someone the English can really be proud of.
I hope you forgot the sarc note.
I never use them. It’s like calling people to dumb to get it. And that would be insulting.
Made me laugh.
The Queen was a godly woman. Veronika West posted that when Elizabeth meets Elizabeth that will be the end. Elizabeth Truss was just appointed as prime minister, the 15th time for the Queen; at Balmoral. Very significant. God bless the Queen. Thank you Lord for her 70 year reign. Then end of a generation.
Thanks for sharing about the prophecy as I don’t always keep current with Veronika.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15
So true. The Lord called her MY
ENGLISH ROSE.
Sad day. Another link to the past broken.
I was watching a sermon where the pastor mentioned the passage in Scripture that spoke of “every knee shall bow” was the passage that brought the Queen to faith in Jesus. I pray her children follow her example and do not bow the knee to the world but instead to Christ.
RIP Queen Elizabeth.
Her last act to ask Truss to form a government will likely have long-lasting effects for them if her lifting the ban on fracking is any sign.
And new Oil drilling Licences too
I’m sorry anyone dies but I don’t believe in Queens especially now when the “elite” and uber-rich are trying to crush us all. Charles is a globalist, Harry is tight with Obama and married to that horrible Markle who has rumored political aspirations here. I guess William and Kate are fine. Their kids are at least cute.
There may be a lot of discussion regarding Charles in the coming days, but I hope we can focus on the Queen. I have just come away from Citizens Free Press where there is zero moderation and the vile comments and false accusations leveled at her is absolutely astounding. No wonder the world is so full of deception and hate. I am happy to see that the Treehouse has set a much higher standard of commentary.
What is being said about her on Twitter is utterly vile.
True as well as among some of the mommy’s basement dwellers here as well.
Well I don’t know who you are talking about but in my house I am mommy and we don’t have a basement.
I’m getting tired of Citizens Free Press snarky titles to their news reports. Their articles are usually first up in the press, but often their opinions are too “clever” / crude & rude.
So I greatly appreciate our moderators here at TCTH.
Your comment is classless.
Charles is a radical WEF acolyte. Even though mostly ceremonial, the monarchy has a huge worshipful audience and significant public influence. Watch for more ‘green’ propaganda. Never let a crisis go to waste.
I hope the plan isn’t to have her cremated. Hunter would be the first in the queue waiting to do a ‘line.’
Its not. It would be considered anti-Christian among high church Anglicans.
Agreed. I do not believe in cremation, whatsoever.
A little side note.
The Orthodox Christian Church forbids the cremation of the bodies of the Faithful.
As they should. Tradition is important to humanity, especially related to Christ, freedom, family and people. Heaven is not a democracy nor a Republic. It is a kingdom. People want to be free to thumb their noses at any and all authority. It was Satan who said,, I will not serve. Monarchs are more than rulers, they are what binds a nation together as a people, as a tribe, as a clan. Respect for the bodies of our dead and remembering there is a physical resurrection lying ahead of us is important to living our lives more fully. In my opinion.
What a run she had! She worked almost to her last day. RIP.
The only decent thing I can say is that the idiot twit Charles reign of terror won’t be as long ….
Prince Charles’ heir, William, appears to be just as involved in the climate
change hoax. What I do like about Prince Charles is that he is heavily
involved with organic farming; loves his gardens and farms.
And then there is the other son Prince Harry. His jealousy over not being
the first heir to the throne is oozing out his pores; and don’t get me
started on Meghan Markle. The other ones who irk me is the Prince
Andrews entire family. Sarah Fergeson, ugh! Classless. A bunch
of grifters.
But, we all have them in our own families I suspect.
Don’t forget the Duchy of Cornwall….big moneymaker.
https://www.historic-cornwall.org.uk/how-does-the-duchy-of-cornwall-make-money/
The Prince of Wales owns it. And pays no taxes on it, according to the above article.
I read he doesn’t have to pay taxes on it, however, does pay them
as a consideration to the people of Great Britain.
Does Harry pay taxes on the Netflix and Spota-lie money they get?
Even after 250 years of self determination I feel a connection with this gentle , famous woman. I suppose it’s our roots. Our language and her longtime reign as The monarch who we remember fro her days as princess leading Gb through Ww2. Just thinking about the rainbow.
God Save The Queen!
I had hoped that Harry would have come to his senses and made peace with his grandmother who clearly stood her ground with him and Prince Andrew. She was a remarkable lady of great dignity and in her 75 year reign rarely, if ever, made a misstep in serving her people. She will be greatly missed by the British people.
He, by chance, was in London, and has only just arrived at Balmoral, after her passing. Knowing she was frail, he nevertheless chose not to visit her when he arrived. A decision I feel he will come to rue with much regret.
I hope he (Harry) does rue.
It will do him good.
” her historic 70-year reign that saw her reach her Platinum Jubilee this year – a landmark unlikely to be reached again by a British monarch.”
Certainly not by her 73 year old son! He may get in a decade or two as King if he’s as long lived as his parents (99 and 96).
Even her grandson William is 40.
Yes, she was a singular force in every kind of way.
When Queen Elizabeth came to the United States in 1976 and visited President Ford, I was on her security detail at Andrews AFB. She was a very classy lady.
Memory Eternal. Vjecna ja Pamjat!!
Nice!
A great woman. What a life. What a woman. What a leader.
She has been a rock to the people of the UK and around the world. An inspiration.
Time for the British people to retire the royal system. The next generation(s) are a miserable lot of entitled elites compared to the Queen Mother.
It hurts the heart as with Queen Elizabeth’s passing comes the end of an era.
Queen Elizabeth represented and encouraged strength
in Great Britain. Although her role was more figurative
and nonpolitical, I think Britain will be somewhat lost
without her as Queen. People loved and respected her.
“Figurative”, meaning she didn’t make policy”
Travel well, Beth.
My deepest sympathies to our British cousins on the loss of their beloved Queen.
RIP Queen Elizabeth , and condolences to all in the UK.
I noticed like many the bruising on her hand but then i also noticed
the extra swelling in her right leg as well which is fairly normal for many as we age. But to me that signifies a heart issue /poor circulation , perhaps even blood clots. which begs the question – did the queen get the vax and boosters?
As we get older our skin gets thinner and one can bruise very easily even with a minor bump against a door frame or other hard object.
I noticed that too some time ago. I didn’t recall her having
particularly large legs in any of the photographs I had seen
of her previously, so I wondered if she had either diabetes
or circulation issues. Then, I think it was yesterday, people
noticed the large bruise on one of her hands when she met
with the new Prime Minister. At 96 it could have been caused
by many issues.
I always admired her steadfast ways and can’t even conceive
of anyone in the royal family currently who could mirror her.
We shall see.
Am guessing heart failure and related swelling.
May she Rest In Peace….although I couldn’t give an ish about any monarchy or royal family
My condolences to the family of Queen Elizabeth. She was truly devoted to her countrymen.
I was hoping that she would “skip” Charles and make William the king. (In reviewing the Queen’s children, I don’t know that there’s a “winner” among the 4 of them).
An Era has passed. I’m quite sad and mournful.
I just can’t quite say, “Long live the king”.
Maybe, just maybe Prince William and Prince Harry will come to terms over their argument where Harry goes back to his wife and she begins to realize how important Harry is to Great Britian and it’s citizens where she drops the anger and both switch to becoming Royals with empathy, integrity and compassion beyond their selves. I would hope the new King, Charles, can work such a miracle at this moment where death opens new avenues of understanding.
Long live Queen Elizabeth in the hearts of all those who felt her humility and understood her service to her fellow citizens!
I don’t think the people of Great Britain would go for that. In fact,
they probably believe that it was the behavior of those two spoiled
brats who hastened both Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth’s
demise.
For this Hazmat will have to ditch Me-Gain which I doubt he wil. Charles and the Queen were very hurt by ther behaviour. The Queen invited them and the kids to Balmoral last week. They declined. I think she knew she was on her last. G-d bless the Queen. RIP
God bless the Queen.
God bless the Queen, and save the UK from Charles! Anyone who was friends with Armand Hammer, Jimmy Saville, and gets poked publicly by the Rothschilds, is weak! His Green policies are nuts too!
She was not the longest living monarch. The Sun King reigned 72 years. His record has not been broken.
Yeah, but he was French so it doesn’t count, now, does it?
😉
Lol! I agree that’s funny. But still he did it in the 1600s, when there was basically no medical care. Impressive no matter how you look at it.
Queen Elizabeth II, RIP
You will be missed.
God have mercy on England and guide her with Your steady hand.
William and Harry are her grandchildren, not her children.
She was an admirable woman and an excellent monarch. Great Britain will not see her like again.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
RIP to a great Woman.. Heaven help GB with Charles as King
My condolences to those across the pond, she was a very good and decent person. May God hold her in the palm of His hand.
