Long-term CTH readers might remember in 2014 when President Obama claimed U.S. families had been paying too little for electricity for too long. As soon as Joe Biden took office, he began implementing the Green New Deal energy policy that, (a) directly forces higher costs for energy; and (b) is now creating massive problems.
In July I noted my own electricity bill had jumped 28% in a single month. That bill was followed by another almost identical increase this month. A review of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July [Data Here] shows that nationally the same thing is happening. The year-over-year electricity price has increased 15.2%. However, worse still, the July increase alone was 1.9%, which figures to an annualized rate of 22.8%.

When the growth rate of monthly increase is exceeding the year-over-year result, that means future higher prices are coming. This is a serious problem that cannot be overstated. Already struggling with a doubling of gas prices, massive food price increases at the grocery store and the pain of all costs for goods far outpacing any rate of wage increase, this type of uncontrollable increase in price of electricity is going to hit the middle class hard.
Steve Cortes calls this the backside of the Biden created inflation hurricane. The backside of a hurricane is the worst because it hits from the opposite direction upon already weakened infrastructure.
The hurricane metaphor is apt because any increase in energy costs will be accompanied by the simultaneous arrival of another wave of food inflation, as the massive increases in field and crop prices start to feed into the food supply chain headed to our forks next month.
Making matters that much worse, Bloomberg is now reporting that 20 million households are now behind in their utility bills, specifically electricity bills, and the moratorium on shut offs has ended. [Paywall Article] Steve Cortes has written about the issue on his substack [Here].
One in six U.S. households, that is tens-of-millions of Americans, are now facing having their electricity turned off due to lack of payment. It is certainly understandable how this horrific outcome would happen. Joe Biden’s energy policies are destroying working class families with unsustainably higher prices.
20 million households is a catastrophic level of utility default. This is a serious issue with major social implications created by the desperation of those families. Middle- and lower-income families cannot survive this level of financial pressure.

.
Rents are behind. Mortgages are behind. Car payments are behind. And now this report on utility bills.
Steve Cortes appeared with Steve Bannon to discuss {Direct Rumble Link} – WATCH:
At the same time, those who claim to be our moral and intellectual betters keep doing everything they can to raise the cost of energy.
Raising the cost of energy is merely a tactic.
Their true goal is to kill us off.
We must never forget that their master hates us and wants us dead.
I read yesterday that pensioners in the UK are facing a real threat of freezing this Winter.
Pensioners and the rest…I used to live there. It’s the same every winter, but this one? I have a terrible feeling it will qualify as a humanitarian crises of epic proportions.
Geriatrocide.
Not enough were disposed of in the Covid murder homes, Maquis. They made a start…but not nearly enough. Their Liverpool “Care” Pathway (sedation, then deliberate starvation and dehydration) used for years to dispose of older, sicker useless eaters takes care of a few more. Now this new and improved, untested Moderna vaxxxx is being “offered” to over 50s. Add in unaffordable heating?
Geriatricide it most definitely is…and my sister in law there at 80 (and still quite active) is in their crosshairs. She’s had three jabs…wouldn’t listen…one more should do it.
Triste.
I warned a 74-year-old friend of mine in New Jersey about the Liverpool Pathway (euthanasia by the feral Government), but she would not believe me. And she was a Trump voter, but handicapped by a life lived in NYC. She has her blind spots.
But it’s not just there. My dad, who was in a posh nursing home in Tennessee, was put on that same regimen and killed. I didn’t really process the fact until after he was gone, but I realized that yes, the nursing home said he couldn’t eat any more, so he got thickened liquids and sedatives until his body gave up. He was 92 and had vascular dementia, so I thought it was merciful in a way — but nobody asked him what HE wanted.
The NHS in Britain is an object of worship and not fit for purpose. It killed my father in law. The anacronym of the committee which set up the LCP is NICE…National Committee for Clinical Excellence. Marxist in name, Marxist in nature.
I am sorry for your father…and for you, Beverly.
And the US will bail out others, while in the same boat.
Not for much longer – dirty secrets are pouring out of the woodpiles and other hidden caches…
Nearing Avalanche proportions, now!
More like dampness than freezing albeit it gets colder as you go north from London
I am a UK pensioner but I made the decision in 2018 to live in the Phillipines
Sunshine.. 60 pesos to the £ ..and an english speaking gentle population
As well as the ability to Cook food, and other things.
Dependence is what they want. Today student loans are forgiven. Next month credit card loans will be forgiven. And the big October surprise (an election special) will be that food will be free!
Who loves ya, baby? Uncle Joe does!
Just got done paying off all of our credit card debt. Still have about 5 years or so on the house mortgage.
If they “forgive” or “Jubilee” the credit cards debt, we will be Screwed for not paying the mortgage off sooner rather than the CC debt.
CC debt runs a a way higher interest rate, so that is why our choice to end them before the mortgage.
I am VERY UNHAPPY about Biden & Co. with the puppet-masters behind the curtains.
They are pushing all of the buttons for the working folks & those of us who are at/near retirement age.
They do not understand the rage building amongst folks, me thinks.
Grrrr.
They understand all right, JB. They just don’t care. Have to have a working heart and a soul for that.
My cc debt will be gone in a year and a half. When I first became disabled I had a very hard time adjusting to the tiny little pittance I live on so I charged a lot of our food and gas. Now I know better.
No, They do understand, very Clearly! The Rage of those they are ravaging is what gives them their Greatest Delight, being the little Malicious Narcissists that they are.
May already know this as you are smart with money…..Now that you have that extra CC money if you use to make extra principle payment could pay off in less than 5.
They will find out.
I tried warning my friend in Ukraine about Biden Regime….. she completely ignored my warnings as Z started dealing with the Pig and Joe Stalin.
Now she is a refugee living in Africa…. which is dangerous for whites nowadays. That being said, I told her the same thing you said about these Commies, their goal is to kill us off…. they just won’t admit it “YET”
Living in America now feels like being in that suspended slow motion mental state during a car wreck right before slamming into a power pole.
Perfectly said!
My wrecks have tended to be more violent, wherein I find myself seemingly endlessly praying “MAKE IT STOP!!”
Not for folks like my sister who can’t even see the pole! She thinks the economy is doing fine, even getting better now that gas prices have gone down ~ 🤦♀️.
We unfortunately have relatives like that. Not a clue. Not a care. No children of their own, thus the shortages don’t affect them much.
Just in their own little “party” world.
I’ve got a bird brained sister like that too.
Got family like that. Raging about Trump, That Mean Thing, He!!!
Electricity is essential for all households.
As Neil Oliver said-
It will be a choice this winter between
Eating and Heating.
I was told there would be a handbasket…
There is but it is empty.
Of COURSE the handbasket is empty. That is so a person can climb in and be lowered away!
YOU know where to!!!
Yes, and heading to Venezuela in it.
Next stop…
Me too! And I hear there are no heating concerns in hell!
They got enough handbaskets for almost everybody! Now, Ain’t that something!!!
They are like, “Come Early, Stay Late to get Yours! Plenty For All, No shortages in THIS LINE!!!”
And the regime will not change their strategy. They will pass an economic emergency act and start spending trillions paying energy bills to keep the new green deal afloat. And the Fed will continue to say there is an excess in demand and keep raising rates. No way this isn’t by design. No one could be this incompetent.
But if you work FT and make more than minimum wage you won’t qualify – it will go mostly to people already on welfare of some sort.
The only way possible for acceptance of CBDC is to get a majority heavily indebted and then offer a clean slate.
Diabolical. Get serious about prepping folks. I spent 2 years eating beans, rice, cheerios, bread and milk as a kid. Later we had lots of mac and cheese and green beans and fruit. Cheapest food on the planet is rice and beans. Easy to prep with oxygen absorbers and moisture absorbers (cause Florida). Grow stuff indoors and outdoors. If you have little space or are elderly or handicaped, check out vertical planters. People have turned some Target planters into verticals for very low cost. Mr Stacky is the most reasonable of the kits for vertical, hydroponics and seriously extended multiple vertical systems as well as smart farms. I bought a Greenstalk, better watering system but much pricier. Then there is the luxury hydroponic version that tells you when to water, feed, etc. Saw it on youtube, way outta my price range.
Seeds are still relatively inexpensive. Germinate in water in a few days in the sun or under grow lights, transplant into tiny soil pots when they have a leaf coming up. A few things can stay in those pots and be harvested. Most will need to be transplanted to bigger spaces to grow. You can use anything plastic to grow in. Just poke/drill/burn holes in the bottom and stick something bigger underneath to catch the overflow.
You can survive on potatoes only long term. You can survive on beans only for a month. Stock up on vitamins for 2 years. That is the single, cheapest, easiest insurance for enabling you to get through this in spite of all obstacles.
But GOD will change their Strategy, His Hand IS Moving! And gaining Speed, too!
Transition to UN Agenda 30.
It certainly is where Neil lives. And the British population are only now waking up to what they’ll be facing soon. Just as those 20 million here are (with more to come no doubt).
The monsters aren’t under our beds…they are comfortably in theirs in DC and in other capitals everywhere in the western world.
Not Quite as comfortable in them (cozy beds) today as in January 2021.
NOW they are beginning to feel the Earth… Move… under their feet, the walls come tumbling down!
People are stepping down – like the Entire Japanese National Govt – and many Nations’ Top Leader, an Italian one, Boris Johnson, and about 11 inside 1or 2 weeks at that time, now a few are suddenly dying, one on Live TV a few days ago, in the middle of a speech, besides Abe being shot while giving a speech… And so much more and A LOT more coming very soon, bcz Whistle Blowers are coming out EVERYWHERE, like RABBITS on the run, now….
Even Faux Chi thinks he can just resign and walk away and KNOWS he better do it NOW.
He, Debra and Bill need to make a fast exit to a non extradiction country.
Electricity is an indulgence. Humanity did it for millenia before the late 1800s. Remember that anything that makes your life easier is an indulgence. So sayeth the Treepers.
When I was a kid my family lived in central Africa.
We lived completely off the grid.
My mother cooked on a wood burning stove.
We used kerosene lanterns at night.
Our water was collected in rain barrels, which were 50 gallon steel drums situated on an elevated platform.
Clothes were washed using a washboard and a hand-cranked wringer.
Millions of people around the world still live that way today.
That was fine in the 1800s. But today when we have ample resources available that are being taken away from us there is no justification for this.
And we’ve become dependent, even in third world countries, on modern high-yield agriculture. The demonic powers that rule the freaking world are determined to engineer global famine — which they will blame on those they want to exterminate. And the bloody fools will believe them.
BUT GOD! HE knows where their stockpiles are all hidden so they can PRETEND shortages!!!
Feeding the current world population without high-yield agriculture is not possible. That is why taking out Ukraine a significant supplier of fertilizer and its ingredients has had such an impact.
Even if we transitioned to old school farming for many more people, there is not enough viable land with water for everyone to grow enough to feed themselves.
TRUE. Except for the tendency of humans to select turning “CHORES” over to the convenience of Collectivist Conglomerates.
I’m not arguing the rightness or wrongness of what’s happening to our country.
If you see it happening and you can’t stop it then you need to start planning for how to survive it.
There were many who used to laugh at the people on that television series, Doomsday Preppers, and quite honestly some of the preppers featured on the show were downright goofy, but that show provided a lot of good information and advice.
People living in densely packed urban areas just aren’t going to make it.
Picture Haiti after the earthquake.
If you wait until it’s upon you, it’s going to be too late to act.
Is it just?
No.
Is it fair?
No.
Will it be easy?
Absolutely not.
Yes, many of us could possibly survive reverting back to a more primitive way of life, but it is damn galling that there was/is no good reason for having to do so!!!
Yeah! No GOOD Reason. Except how easy it is in THAT mode to let some busybody committee organize and CO-OPT the common Projects, and turn them into Monopolies not open to individual unlicensed innovators.
Growing some of your food, stocking up on canned and dry goods, preserving, dehydrating, canning and buying stuff now while its available, gives people some options for coping. It does not have to be “primitive”. I have not heard a single serious prepper or homesteader say that any of the above is 100% successful. They all are susceptible to the “hand of God” in weather and bugs and human mistakes. Plus, the tools available today for all of the above are not primitive. It is possible to buy pressure canners, dehydrators, buckets, oxygen absorbers, humidity absorbers and hydroponic systems that make it all much, much easier. There’s also newer chicken coops and tractors that make cleaning easy and electronics to automate opening and closing their doors and feeders/waterers that only have to be filled on a weekly basis.
Just remember they want you dead and if you don’t want to be dead, you must adapt. People are very good at adapting. Do we need to fight back, absolutely. At the moment, in the US, we still have some legal options left.
And for YEARS in all parts of North America (the Continent), people are deliberately RETURNING to it.to get Old-Fashioned Normalcy back in their lives after too much city-dwelling – many because they’ve been reading the signs of the Trending of “civilizations”.
They are spending a fortune, if not in products, certainly in Man Hours to build pretty much what our great great grandfathers had in the Pilgrim, Pioneering, and Frontier Days!
Very innovative, some of them, are, too! Quite Clever! If you can buy the Space to do it in, of ANY kind at all.
Fascinating, for those in good enough health to manage the extra Physical effort, and the remoteness. But IF something comes up needing Big city solutions (I.e., Medical, or Big City Tech Construction, etc.) …
Yes, there are serious limitations to what we can do individually with respect to the commons, the public needs for medical care, transportation, utilities and housing as well as policing. That’s where we fight in the courts and band together to help each other out.
Some of us who live in Northern climes do not have wood burners or the like that can heat without electricity. Insurance companies seem to take a LOT of offense & charge more if you use “in house” wood heat. Not many have the wood heat systems that are out & away from the home, as they are mostly in rural areas. Towns folks are limited on installing such systems thru building codes & ordinances.
Thus many folks depend on Nat. gas/Propane furnaces, Oil burners and the like, where the heat must be “pushed” by fans( squirrel cage types) using electricity to get the heat thru out our homes.
The “old school” type heat with the furnace in the basement & an “octopus” duct system to transfer the heat, or “thru the floor” venting from lower levels to upper levels has been long gone for modern homes, although older homes might still have functioning systems that could be adapted to work.
Regardless, that is just for home owners with “stick built type” homes, since those with “mobile homes”(trailers) are likely to not even have a basement and such systems would not work. As well, they also have limitations on wood burning depending on ther locations & insurance.|
Yes, some of us can, “make do.
I have the stuff to make a wood burner should it come to that, so as far as my home is concerned, I will survive regardless of insurance costs, but there are WAY too many others who are not in the same place & will certainly suffer here in MN & other Northern climes as the Winter sets in.
Your comment , while it may be correct in some ways, for some folks in some locales/climates, does not take in account for folks who have been used to “modern” energy availability.
My comment is to help you understand, as it seems you are not taking what I mentioned for folks into account, with your comment.
It is not meant to be harsh, I am only supplying some facts to try to help get you & others to realize not everyone can easily set up their homes to be heated without electricity thru the Winter.
IOW, in a short sentence…
Some folks will still need electricity to heat their homes, even if you do not.
Best wishes to you & all, GOD Bless us all~!
Note: edited for syntax & spelling. I “think” I got it right now.
NOT JUST for Northern Climes – 2 yrs ago, my community was without electricty for 10 days. Ours was fine, but as Texas shot some areas down so they could get massive need in other areas back up and running, they were DIALLOWED by GOVT public Servants from powering ut to the necessary and AVAILABLE extra levels, the Citizenry NEEDED. We had SNOW on the Ground. Our home had taken out gas lines years before after springing a leak in the lines. No fireplace or woodburning stoves,
We did have water, bcz City water had a generator for the pump. But some good citizens brought everyone plenty of bottled water anyway, and we deeply appreciated that.
FEW people around here have the financial ability to “upgrade” to off-grid resources. I’ve tried to get my family to budget for that for a few decades, fell on Deaf Ears.
and many of these houses are built in ways to make adapting them very difficult, if not impossible.
This is not true for everyone, like those on oxygen and other elderly.
In Electricity BEGINNING DAYS, each building, home, business, whatever it was, each had INDIVIDUAL generators. Someone local handled selling and helping set up the Personal systems, then the owner or renter just took care of the fuel power, whatever type of gas was being used in that area.
How anyone agreed to consolidating the Power source is an Amazing thing. However, if they had kept it individualized, these DC creatures would just go after the power source the same way they are with the EVs. I cannot imagine why – having windmills for their water pumps, they didn’t think of some kind of Axle-driven generator designed for what was available in the neighborhood, like (Niagara Falls) waterwheels, European style windmills that powered a grinding mill wheel inside the Base, Oxen-driven mill wheels, or Even Swiss Family Robinson type of Water-lifting wheel for the Treehouse, treadle, or something self-propelled of some various Kind…. mill or cycling wheel, or the Treadle plate on Oldest models of Singer Sewing machines, anything that would rotate that Wheel and its axle.
ANYTHING to keep it out of the hands of some Committee or other conglomerate.
In our area, that change to Central Power only came in the 1950’s.
I was stunned when I learned that about 30-40 yrs ago. I’m like WHY!!!!
In the Midwest and Northeast utilities will have to shut off power before winter gets here – once winter is here by law they can’t shut the power off till April. It’s going to be a dark, cold, cruel winter for many working Americans thanks to Joe Biden, and Ditch McConnell.
I would say you could take out a loan to pay for your heating bills, but that would be…indulgent.
Your attempt at humor is not humorous.
Some folks lose their homes that way, too.
Yes, anything that jeopardizes keeping a roof over your head is too expensive.
Some people in desperate straights choose their vehicles and let the apartment/house go.
RVs are an option for some, but, there are only so many available lots for long term stays.
I am sure Biden will come in with his magic wand and wave away the past due electricity bills. He will then order the power companies to raise the electricity rates 15% on those of us who are still paying our bills to make up for his act of “forgiveness.”
When you read the fine print, you will probably discover that the magic wand only works for some.
Some = anyone but white Christian especially male heterosexual
Or any natural born taxpayers.
By New Year’s Day people will be without power and freezing in their homes. The SHTF is rapidly approaching so get prepared if you haven’t already. And remind everyone THIS IS INTENTIONAL.
Going to be a rough winter for a lot of folks. Im hoping this makes the woke more woke..
One thing we all have in common is We all have family and friends.
We all wish them well..
This will not be able to be hidden just like gas and food prices…. Ya cant fake this to people who have jobs and a wallet.
🤮
Some of my family and friends are Libtards. … I hope they freeze their asses off.
That’s mean.
But I must confess that I have frequently thought along the same lines.
People going on their second vacation of the summer that I know they can’t afford.
I bite my tongue. It’s really hard sometimes- but I do.
I make sure I tell everyone how poor I am. Just getting by. I have to pinch my pennies, etc.
I think I overdid it a few times though. Someone wanted to lend me money. Oops. I graciously declined and thanked them for their offer.
“People going on their second vacation of the summer that I know they can’t afford.”
I see this too. What do they know that we don’t?
They know it is their last opportunity for an extra vacation. They know YOLO. They expect others via the government to take care of them. Woe to them who rely on government who are not illegals.
They do not know that government funding will never cover all the necessities for survival in a hyperinflating economy. They do not understand that to survive what is coming, one must figure out how to take care of oneself.
NO! IT IS NOT MEAN! IT IS A KINDNESS – WHAT will it TAKE to wake your dear loved ones UP!
YOU KNOW we were all raised KNOWING what the School of HARD KNCOCKS can do for “BRAIN FREEZ” and Dangerous levels of Self Introspection in the face of EXTERNAL dangers.
THINK serious, What WILL it take to get their attention and get them to focus a few minutes on REALITY instead of their head full of Fantasy Illusions.
WAKE THEM UP, not to abuse the current “definition” of “WAKE” or WOKE”!!!
Get them OUT of the Burning House, no matter how determinedly they want to sleep, instead, under the influence of Carbon Monoxide.
IS it KIND to let them sleep TO DEATH????
Or another older scenario, people suddenly stuck somewhere in a blizzard and their Transportation has failed them and if they don’t WAKE – TOO MANY MILES – to a Safe Place, they will die, SOON they want to lay down in the nice soft SNOW and take a 15 minute NAP.
Will you be KIND to them and let them “Rest a Minute”. Knowing that Freezing to Death in that weather takes LESS than 15 minutes for someone laying STILL in the snow????
Just because you “FEEL” MEAN does NOT mean that is WHAT you are physically doing. You want to deal with your HEART ISSUES? or do you want to deal with their cold dead bodies???? PICK ONE!
“You will own nothing and be happy”
I’m expecting the worst of the energy crisis to hit New England by January during the depths of winter. Why the preponderance of housing up this way still uses heating oil (Kerosene really) is a mystery to me.
Oh… and New England does absolutely depend on natural gas to provide a majority of the electricity on the local grid. Disaster in the making.
The energy density of fuel oil is quite high. It is easy to store and transport. Multiple companies can fill your tanks creating a bit of a competitive market. It is a good choice until the government manipulates markets. Like now. But they are manipulating everything that can be used for heat. We will all suffer. Maybe not equally but almost certainly universally.
What do you think they should use instead? Serious question because back in 2018 I was told that it would cost about $10K to change the house I owned then from an oil furnace for central heat and hot water to a heat pump for heating and air conditioning. Add the cost of the new water heater for another $1K and darn we forgot we’ll need to replace the radiators with duct work and heating/cooling vents. We were approaching $20K then. I doubt it would be under $25K now. Maybe you could get a discount or rebates or something and do it for 15K but that’s still a heck of a lot of money.
WHY? SO your POWER will FAIL in the whole NEIGHBORHOOD or CITY or PORTION OF YOU STATE, every time a squirrel crawls into one of those Transformers up on the Poles?
We had that for several DAYS one time, The local Company was fresh out of Transformers due to some rounds of flooding , and it took them 3-4 days to get a new transformer, then more time to install it.
Will THAT sort of thing help you heat your house and cook your food?
Add that Electric, but KEEP your Alternatives still in condition to work when needed, Or buy a household generator. When not being used by your house, you can sell that power to your local electric company, and cut your bill.
btw heating oil is much heavier than kerosene and has vestiges of oil within it making its Btu content higher as well
“UP THAT WAY” Lots of people in MY generation saw them go through TONS of horrible blackouts during stormy years.
Some folks went through those blackouts stuck in elevators.
They also had massive baby booms. 9 months later.
That might be one reason they hang on to heating oil, coal, or gas heating (and cooking).
They like to hook the grid up so if One falls ALL of them domino. No matter how many times the dominos fall. And those guys are almost impossible, IF even at ALL Possible, to get them to learn to stop that, even when they are sued massively for the deaths they caused deliberately. After all the settlement doesn’t come out of THEIR pockets at all.!
Or…we can just finally stop being stupid about it and accept nuclear power in “our backyards”.
And also get rid of Biden. Man this guy is a joke, he’s really been a downer. I dunno who voted for him, but I blame that 1530 guy.
Nope.
😀
Wrong answer; think you meant “yep.”
lol
Nope, didn’t vote for the resident.
Yep to everything else.
I’m relatively sure you didn’t vote for that guy. I just wanted to pick on someone, and it was your turn 😀
The time to revisit the use of nuclear powered generation of electricity is here. A favorable case in point is the nuclear powered electric generator at Lake Keowee run by Duke energy in South Carolina.
the Lake is clean and the shore line governed fair and effectively. Electricity is less. My question is how to handle the disposal of nuclear fuel once used?
Powder the used fuel, mix it with glass to make bricks, then stack them in a desert.
Proposed by Robert Heinlein.
If the desert creatures wouldn’t glow in the dark, then the next hurdle would be the mounds of legally fueled administrative red tape that STRETCHES construction time.
Did you say *Cough Cough* “LEGALLY” fueled Red Tape????
A total waste of a valuable resource.
My brother in law is a nuclear chemist and retired from Idaho National Labs where they are charged with finding a way to dispose of nuclear waste. Like 8000 employees since WWII who would be out of a job if they found the solution.
Anyway, he used to travel the world giving talks on the subject, saying the solution is enclosing the nuclear waste in glass bricks.
He also said that if there was ever a nuclear blast to take a few drops of potassium iodide in some orange juice.
In my experience, Duke is a decent company.
Also, I don’t think the public understands how seriously nuclear workers take their jobs.
If any of you think anything of me at all…well I’m basically an example of an average nuclear worker. Most of my peers were a lot smarter than me and nuclear safety was always #1. That’s not a tag line in the nuclear industry like it is everywhere else. We were always committed completely to it and I know other nuclear facilities are too. I’ve been in quite a few of them.
I had a problem when greenie weenies smeared nuclear safety. All our sailors on aircraft carriers live in a nuclear power plant.
I’m a submarine guy. We didn’t have much respect for carrier nukes either.
AHH…a “bubble head” that explains a few things Keln
Lol…well yeah I suppose it does.
not all….only the engineering staff charged with propulsion and they work in a heavily shielded area……the sailors on SSNs and SSBNs are in much closer proximity to the reactor vessels but the same story with a minority of the crew working with or even having access to areas around the reactor
I’m happy they are my provider.
Me too.
Fuel reprocessing can deal with the majority of that waste.
New 4th+ Gen designs have promise of reducing that further by being able to fission out more of the intermediate products.
You can thank President Carter for putting an end to fuel reprocessing permanently in the USA.
Sadly, it takes billions and many years before you can even break ground due to the regulatory environment and the endless legal challenges from NGO’s.
I applaud the take and appreciate it, but you said a lot of things that aren’t exactly correct.
We’ll start with Jimmey Carter. He was a crap president. I think even history agrees with that. But he was 100% friendly to nuclear. The man was a nuke officer in the Navy. He went through the same shit I did. He was the guy who started the US work on centrifuge uranium processing. It was Bush Sr. that shut it down, then Clinton that pushed it off to civilian contract work, that we did (and by “we” I mean, I was directly involved in it). Then Obama cut the funding and it died…right at the point we had it all figured out.
I don’t want to defend Jimmey Carter too much, but just want to get the facts straight. If anyone wants to blame a certain person then it’s Obama. He totally shutdown any and all capability this country had to enrich uranium for fuel. And unfortunately, even my own phone call to one of Trump’s guys didn’t move the man to re-initiate it. The guy just kept going on about Ohio State football…I love the team but come on, I talked to one of Trump’s guys on the phone and that wasn’t the subject I was interested in.
5th generation is the current design, not 4th. Most plants are 3rd Gen. And you can’t “fission more” out of something. It doesn’t work that way. What you can do is reclaim nuclear waste, extract the components you need out of it (primarily plutonium and U-235) and the rest can go to medical research. But that is really, really hard. I sort of worked with a company that was seriously wanting to do t his, and their methods are solid, but they have very little when it comes to a business model.
Which is a shame. We have solutions for the “waste”, and I put that inside quotation marks because it isn’t waste…it’s more fuel. But it’s hard to process and if there is no way to turn a profit, then you can’t expect a company to do it.
The one thing you are completely correct about is how the NRC just gets in the way of any new build. Yeah a lot of them are ex-nukes like me, but they are told by administrations whether to pass a thing or not. So, very bureaucratic.
I’ll give you those.
I just did not type up a long winded post detailing what you elaborated about how the once-thru fuel is not really waste.
I highly recommend typing long-winded posts. I guess some people are lazy and find reading hard. But I actually want to read what you have to say. The longer the better.
I would do longer posts, alas it not as straight forward on my Android as it would be on my personal computer.
Quite a nuisance to fight with the autocorrect among other things.
Yeah, definitely need an actual computer to blow the amount of hot air I do. I couldn’t imagine trying this on a phone. I have kinda fat fingers.
“but just want to get the facts straight”
Thanks.
Anything I can do for you, I’m here to try and do it.
a lot of what was considered “waste” in the past is reprocessed with new U235 added in into the new fuel pellets they insert when they refuel the reactor
The time to revisit the use of nuclear powered generation of electricity
is herewas when the talk of windmills and solar panels first came into vogue. Fortunately their heavy CO2 emissions have kept a lid on the reliance of Unicorn farts. Also Watts Bar 1 and 2 in Tennessee.
Those are very important reactors.
I have Duke Nuclear in Upstate SC, as well. It’s cheap. We have one plant on Lake Wiley right down the street and one 40 mins north on Lake Norman. The dam to make the lake also generates hydro. This is the way.
Both lakes are gorgeous and fun recreational areas. I like the way the cooling towers look!
Duke Energy in North Carolina uses nuclear and hydro. We also have a Utilities Commission so our rates are not arbitrarily raised on the spot. So far my rates are stable.
Switch to and build Thorium Nuclear Reactors.
Nuclear power plants are now safer and more reliable than most realize.
https://www.nuscalepower.com/technology
And we still have a lot of fools thinking we can use wind sun to fulfill the power grid needs.
Germany, on the sharpest edge of a bitter catastrophe this winter said the other day they would keep their three remaining nuclear plants in operation.
Two days later they changed their minds, or what passes for them. Those three will be shut down on December 31.
Happy New Year, my German friends.
Wonder if their New Year’s fireworks will be seen as a last hurrah?
I seriously doubt they’ll be allowed. After their incredible drought this summer, I suspect the Sturmabteilung will be out in force to make certain there are none…just a guess.
I’ve yet to see an accidental conflagration in snow, but the zombies were making up excuses to ban them a good while ago . . .
Sometimes I suspect the Conspiracy makes up faux causes just to keep their zombies in practice.
You’re right. What was I thinking!!?. Obviously not.
last I saw they were planning to refire some of their coal-fired plants to bridge the gap…..not sure where the coal is to come from
They have some low quality strip mines and they are getting some from South America.
Transported on the Rhine…or was… which has no more barge traffic because of the drought. Too little too late I fear. There is something terribly Biblical about this.
Lunatics have put the western world in an existential situation, and it seems we are all in the asylum with them.
They were threatened with a bigger catastrophe.
Bill Gates is bullish on nuclear being the founder and chairman of TerraPower:

I don’t think it would have made any difference Biden or no Biden. It was the fraudulent election whether Biden or Bugs Bunny.
Bugs was never so vicious or vile.
NOT ENOUGH voted for him to justify over-riding the Super-Majority for him.
While he and Navarro were on Bannon yesterday the more striking observation is this: About 5% of mortgage holders surveyed are worried that they are going into foreclosure. What that means is that they are about 90 days behind on the payments.
I also directly heard this from the branch manager at Suncoast credit union last week down here–people are going in in droves trying to work out the mortgage loan issues. He also said that “they” are moving money into the banks anticipating “runs”.
With all that in mind, the energy bills make sense but this is much broader. Welcome to 2008 on black tar heroin.
Mortgages are indulgences. Utilities are indulgences. You should’ve prepared as everyone else has on here, so that you have no problems. Because we can all master our future.
2nd time I have replied to your comments about “indulgences” now.
I think this will be the last time I “indulge” you in doing so.
You, IMO, are not worth the time any longer.
My responding to you has been an “indulgence” & I can do without it…
Bless your heart~!
NOrm got hurt when Sundance called people taking out student loans and expecting others to pay for them an “indulgence”. NOrm is a one note TROLL. Do NOt feed it.
Ok groomer.
I own my home…have for a long time.
Checkmate.
I have noticed in my and surrounding neighborhood every other week a different house it up for sale. Second round of property taxes due on September 1. People are furious over tax bill, price of food, and are worried about the winter ahead. Western suburbs of Chicago.
Will trade deer meat for????
Beans
😄 I wouldn’t mind some perch.
How about bass and channel catfish?
I have some of that. Where I’m at tho it’s hard to get them perch .
Ya can catch a few here there but not enough to pig out on /fish fry.. 100 plus mile to go where ya could limit out and take a nice meal home.😏
Oh yes!
We have a bumper crop of hassenfeffer
That sounds delicious.👍
Your deer meat will be assigned a price and you will be squeezed for its tax by the IRS.
🤣🤣🤣 I bet not my freind..
There will be 87,000 IRS goons coming for your deer meat.
Perfect. Now they will subsidize 20 million people from taxes ,borrowing or printing more money. Exactly what a socialist wants. Not a problem a feature of more to come.
“You will own nothing”
This is intentional.
Ironically, Sundance makes the Great Reset argument. To own a home or car in this world requires, more often or not, loans. Loans, according to him, are indulgences. So here we are. 🙂
Owning a car does not require a loan. Owning a really nice car or a new car might, but not necessarily. When I became debt free, I started making car payments to myself to a special account. When I need a car, money is there. The last car loan I had was paid off in 1995. I drive them to well above 250K miles unless they die. I buy used ones. I work on them myself.
Owning a home is a bit different. We built our house in 1978 and still live there. Paid off a long time ago.
Intentionally screwing up the energy market to cause inflation to the point that people can’t afford to turn lights or heat on, or a roof over their heads is NOT the same thing as expecting taxpayers to pay for your 12th century African basket weaving degree from a college that you signed on for.
Surely, you can’t be that dense. You believing that you are so smart to equate the two is exactly what’s wrong with today’s colleges.
Oh, he is that dense.
Thanks groomer
DO NOT FEED NOrm the Troll.
I’m parts of Europe people can’t afford to heat their homes because natural gas to heat their homes cost more then their mortgage.
It will soon be upon us along with massive food price increases after the midterms and you can bet on it.
Stock up on food NOW.
Have a way to purify water.
Have lots of warm clothing and wool blankets.
Have alternative means of cooking, heating and lighting.
Look into getting a solar generator, one big enough to run an Instapot and a 12 volt electric blanket.
Get some solar lights.
Try to pay off your car. Get a van, if possible. If you are evicted it will be your new home.
People have survived hard times before. At least we have some warning.
….or kick them out of power and control. If Trump does not make it back, it is all over. However, IMO Trump will make it back.
Nah, one of my friends at lunch today said he had no idea why I’m canning meat because it’s coming down in price. A woman who was visiting from Connecticut who was a guest of another person in the group said her freezer was empty. When I asked why, she said it was because she was out of town so she didn’t need to have anything in it. Another couple said they have their frig freezer and 2 standalone freezers full so I thought they were pretty smart until the husband said the covid not-a-vaccines were rigorously tested and put through many trials with no problems which is why he felt good having both doses and 2 boosters.
Well, at least I know that today I WAS the smartest person at the table. None of them wanted to hear why they are idiots. I tried.
Price is going down because they are culling their herds due to skyrocketing feed costs.
Imagine the price when the herds are tiny with little intention or ability to expand them.
It’s less about how much it will cost than it is will it even be available to purchase?
I might suggest you no longer reveal to such short sighted folks that you are preparing for the future they glibly ignore; you can’t feed them all . . .
Dumb people love JB
Breathtaking. Any guesses where PG&E rates would be on that chart? I can tell ya, Tier 1 is .32kwh and Tier 2 is .39kwh. With their CARE program for low income seniors like myself, they discount it to .20 and .26 respectively.
Last month’s bill was over 500 bucks without the discount and I wasn’t even there a week so the HVAC was off. Just irrigation, the refer and security lights for that week.
As comparison, all hydro local in Oregon is 7 cents kwh with no discounts. Same energy, 1/4 – 1/5 the cost.
I kinda chuckle since PG&E was one of the shop’s big customers for decades. How far we’ve fallen.
Past couple winters I’ve burned dead trees in the fireplace insert to heat the house. LP was too costly. Made a lot of hot water that way too. Adapt and overcome. I figure if mom and dad survived the Depression I can figure out a way. Heck they didn’t even have electricity until the late 30’s.
I would expect bankruptcies to accelerate this winter as creditors sue over defaults. America.
Yep.
We are stronger than we know.
With God, all things are possible.
thanks Val very true have a great night
We can not burn wood due to allergies. However, I can cut wood and trade it.
I had an $800+ electric bill June and July combined here in CA.
You don’t need Air Conditioning. That is an indulgence.
Ok boomer
So is the instrument that you are using to indulge us with your pitiful attempts at ‘shame’ posts.
I’ll now give up the indulgence of reading your posts.
In Texas during the summer it is needed. In most of Texas, it does not cool off that much at night.
I am fortunate.
If electricity gets too costly I will be sleeping in my basement during the summer and turn off the A/C.
Texas had a power crisis last winter. San Diego power spent 5 billion? on acquisition of a regional power company purchase in Texas. That purchase is included in your monthly bill.
I feel sorry for the ones that didn’t vote for Biden. Those that did vote for him can go without power forever for all I care
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
…and their children?
Paying for the votes of their parents. I know it sounds cold, but there will be many whose parents didn’t vote for the walking potted plant who will suffer as well. It’s criminal and we will have to make many hard choices before this is all over.
According to Joe fans, they shouldn’t have had children. Maybe they should demand that the Biden regime sign an EO to extend the number of weeks for abortion. Or just keep at it with boosters.
I wish I were being sarcastic.
I wish you were as well….alas…
And the horse they rode in on…
So this is what was intended when Schwab and UN head Guterres expedited their 2030 Agenda signing not long ago.
All elements of and for life are to be exterminated as quickly as possible. This is nothing more than perhaps the most massive crime against humanity ever, and it is happening throughout the western now uncivilized world. It will get exponentially worse. How much longer, Dear Lord?
Cashiers cheerily ask what my plans are for the evening?
“Blogging the Apocalypse.”
Perfect (created) storm.
Severe economic depression is right here, right now.
If you can stock up on items you will need to survive. Make a plan assuming the absolute worst case scenario. Cut your budget to essential items only.
Assume stocks and bonds will be worthless soon and it will take a wheelbarrow of cash to go grocery shopping.
Be pleasantly surprised if its not as bad as what looks like is coming our way.
Ammunition in common calibers may soon become an medium of choice for bartering and exchange.
Junk silver coins can be useful for barter, as can tobacco, sugar, hard candies, Bic lighters, canned meats and whatever else people will want to have.
Just be very careful about who you barter with and never let them know how much you have of anything.
Meet at a neutral area and wear old, shabby clothes. Never leave by the same route that you used to get there.
There is a fellow named Ferfal who survived a very hard time after his country collapsed.
He wrote a very good book about. You can look him up online.
We have our travel trailer beside the house and have full hookup available if needed. Might need to shut down the house to the minimum and spend a lot of time in the RV this winter!
Excellent thinking!
If you don’t have a solar set up to power the trailer, you might want to get something now.
This is what happens when people who bear no responsibility for the outcome replace what works with what sounds good.
Either this is an intentional destruction of the US economy and People, or it is the confluence of ignorance, incompetence, greed, and arrogance.
The utility companies are not to blame. They have to buy the fuel, produce the electricity, and deliver it, with 3 to 10 times cost increases in fuel costs and regulations. It is the Administration that has caused this to happen. Unicorn farts and pixie dust don’t generate the power or pay the bills. In an honest world, the entire cost increases for everything should be billed to every registered Democrat in the US and enforced by liens. They caused this.
It is INTENTIONAL.
Starting this month in the state of New Hampshire I was lucky enough to hit the energy jackpot. . .100% increase in both electricity and natural gas!! Not a joke, not hyperbolae . . .INSANE!! Lots of folks here not sure how we are going to make it through the winter here and if you couldn’t guess the winters are long and cold in this part of the country. As an added bonus I saw a headline earlier this week warning that there may be fuel shortages in the northeast this winter. S*** is about to get real up in these parts. If you are from around these parts prepare accordingly.
Ouch prayer sent.
Here in the Pacific Northwest our electricity comes from hydro-electric dams. It does not come from fossil fuel. The cost of flowing water is pretty constant, any price increase beyond the increase cost of labor is simply theft. Theft is not beyond the scope of the politicians in the PNW.
Good thing the Green Zombies aren’t campaigning to destroy all our dams.
🤪
….and yet the eco-nazis are pushing to demolish dams on the Snake and Columbia rivers……before long the loss of dams WILL affect the amount of hydropower available in the area
The Agenda 2030 wants the dams to be destroyed. They are coming down in California.
My heating bills – natural gas – are amortized over 12 months.
My 12 months were up in July, August bill jumped over 50%.
Gonna get ugly next July.
A third of the US is brainwashed to believe that this is necessary to save the planet.
This was the pretext used by the puppet regime to start hobbling US energy, beginning with the puppet’s first day in office.
They blame covid for inflation and most other ills too, but don’t forget that the plandemic was created, worsened, and prolonged by the regime.
They blame Russia, but the regime created that problem too.
Are the eyes open yet?
WEF is aptly named. The global manipulators are frogmarching the west to serfdom using global economic manipulations, and it seems no one can stop it.
Haha, Save the Planet!
You know most of those idiots don’t know Who created this planet!
Turn-a-bout is fair play though.
When they do meet the Maker of our planet, he won’t know them either!
Not my words, it is written.
Can I take out a loan to pay for this winter’s energy bills? Then maybe Senator Elizabeth Warren can help out. I heard she’s into loan forgiveness these days.
WH answer is to buy solar panels and get a rebate after you can no longer pay to keep your lights on, is whale oil green, and what is its footprint, we do need more room in the oceans for our waste plastics to be recycled, while coal makes it’s come back the green deals only effect is the change in my pocket.
My neighbor’s quote for solar was 50K. He said no thanks
Something’s gotta give
If you cannot afford a generator I would suggest you buy a portable
power station there are many brands and price points to choose from.
They are small , lightweight easy to carry around the house. and you can
get it to fit your needs from simple
with one AC power outlet and three USB chargers and
(9v Charger they ususally
have built in flashligh you can charge it in your home outlets. in
your car ‘or buy small solar panels. some have multiple AC outlets.
you can charge multiple things at one time and you can use the AC outlet
to charge your computer and maybe run a small lamp or even a small
coffee pot or something.
Jackery is a popular brand but there are many others.
Why does the idea of asking… “Who gave the federal government the authority to meddle in the energy sector?” Not become a serious question?
Decades and decades from BOTH parties have caused this.
It’s really not a matter of FJB, it’s a matter of F the federal government, they need to be booted.
ALL 7.5 MILLION of them! Not A department, or A agency, or A adminstration, and especially not A party…. ALL OF THEM FFS!!!!
DAM RIGHT DEV
Obviously Americans didn’t plan ahead, save money, and get their affairs in order. They became indulgent and spent money frivolously. They’re to blame for the position they’re in. Just like all those high on the hog indulgent folks who took student loans out just for shits and giggles.
We could all take lessons from the many blue collar hard-working men and women on this site who prepared and, like David Ramsey, are prepared and wise.
So, so wise.
Remember: when shit happens to you, it’s your own fault. That’s the SD/Treehouse creed.
Troll? Anything positive to add? Anything?
You’re gonna choke on all that hate son.
I’m just quoting SD and exposing his cognitive dissonance. That is a hell of a contribution.
Actually, you’re not.
You are being the snarky, spoiled city teen girl.
It got old at first mention, drama queen.
Please give it a rest.
This blue collar guy has gone through enough winters to know to prepare for the next one before it gets here. I don’t care one bit if an ill prepared smart ass has to learn the hard way. It may be the only way that smart ass can learn.
Your comment isn’t a one size fits all comment.
But I do agree for the ones it does fit!
Give it a rest.
Thanks again groomer.
Sixty-seven percent of our electricity comes from natural gas. The US is sending a lot of natural gas to Europe because we are able to make a huge profit on that natural gas and this gives us a propaganda message that we are helping Germany and our allies in NATO. At the same time, Biden has cut the production of oil and gas, so there is less of it for Americans. (Natural gas in Europe has risen in cost to $3100 per thousand cubic meters today.)
That shortage of natural gas is going to make electricity prices increase even more as world supplies shrink further. Then you have many people who are depending on natural gas or heating oil for heat.
Lots of kids coming to school smelling like kerosene in our future.
Viva 🇲🇽 Mexico!!!
35% of new cars sold in CA by 2025 must be EVs……..50% of new cars sold in CA by 2030 must be EVs…..100% of new cars sold in CA by 2035 must be EVs…………… the used car market for gas powered vehicles is going to explode. Meanwhile, only the millionaires on the coast will be able to afford electricity to power their EVs.
And the source of electricity to power these cars? Any new, big plans to add water to Lake Mead? At the rate things are going I wonder if the Hoover Dam will even be operational by 2030.
I am wondering if it will make it to 2025.
That water is going down fast!
shutting down their Nuke plants in CA too
And the EV’s are going to EXPLODE!
I knew there was a joke in there somewhere!
….and don’t be surprised to find 0bama ‘cash for “clunkers”‘ part 2 to come soon!
This is just great.
People got raises because of gubment pressure. So we also see they have their hours cut back.
Greenei weenie electric rates per KWh are way up here. The gubment low income energy assistance disqualifies most that make min wage. Credit cards maxed at the gas pumps. So gasoline dropped a little, that means they can make a partial payment to avoid termination.
I’m dreading Winter – my electric bill in January through March is often 900 dollars a month.
Heat is an indulgence.
I actually did a winter once without it – it was unpleasant but doable with dogs to sleep with.
LOL! Get back to us when you spend a winter of 5 to 20 degrees fahrenheit without heat!
Said it this morning, I’ll say it again, we are getting alot of calls for utility assistance.
Up 50% over July.
This is real.
Well, here we know it is real, but out there…..Party on Wayne, our student loan debt is gone.
Morons.
Pray.
With juice from the fans and the panels, unreliable energy will also cause rolling energy black outs.
Folks blackouts are a wonderful socialist scheme to help you lower your electric bill, yes?
It helps lower demand by killing off the infirm.
They’re are plenty of us that can’t do without.
Norm can go to hell.
My electric bill has gone from $112.00 a month to $180.00 a month. My house is 1100 sq. feet, double pane vinyl st0orm windows, extremely well insulated and I use an oil filled heater in my bedroom rather than the electricity gobbling cadet wall heaters. I have a Daikin mini split unit that I use all year for heat and A/C. It is just me and my two dogs. Biden has ruined everything and now has ‘forgiven’ student loans for brown and black students for the most part. Yeah, that will help inflation but who care. Securing those lefty votes is what matters along with the destruction of the USA.
If you have concerns about paying your heat bills or blackouts, get tents and sleeping bags for cold climates. Also look into down comforters to layer.
There are also emergency wood stoves you can vent out a window.
“Middle- and lower-income families cannot survive this level of financial pressure.”
Correction, lower income people will have their energy bills subsidized by the middle income folks. So, lower income folks won’t feel the burden and will vote for those paying their bills. Middle income folks will be paying (twice) their own and much of the others’ bills. Middle income is where the money…….the legislativly unprotected money is.
No electricity
No phone charging
No computer / internet
No fake news / tv
….. no information
No communication
Who needs an emp attack?
So, last winter our “sciencey” betters were saying it would be a winter of death for the unvaxed.
This winter some of us idiot Neanderthal rubes are saying it will be a winter of death due to freezing and starvation.
I wonder who will have been more correct come Spring 2023?
I have electricity through a co-op and we have not had an increase yet. It’s a not for profit enterprise which helps but they also spend money as if it were coming out of their own pockets. For instance, rather than buying a new $600,000 vehicle, they refurbished and updated am old one for $200K. They built a new headquarters so they could consolidate a lot of their functions in one place and used the dirt from the excavation to level out ground at another location saving the cost of disposal and purchase.
Maybe the for profit companies do this, but I’ve never heard them say it. The Co-op’s concern for our money and providing reliable service is what I wish all businesses and especially the government would practice.
I am on co-op also.
No one has been complaining that I have heard, about rates.
Our Salvation Army recently had a yard sale and they said majority was going to help people with utilities.
With the cost of food and everything else….a lot of people are having a rough time of it.
They are probably just- a dancin’ with joy about the school loan debacle. /s
Not many 80 year olds out there that can work a job to make ends meet.
Yep the total destruction of America and all being run by the radical leftists and RINO’s.
And anyone who thinks this is Joe’s doing is a fool. He can barely tie his own shoes.
FASTER! BRING IT YOU BOLSHEVIK SWINE! LETS GET THIS GAME OFF THE PRACTICE FIELD AND INTO THE ARENA – there are more of us than them – we are LEGION.
It’s time for these crappy Americans to feel some wrath
Much of it is due to the Biden-induced inflation. But a good part of the arrears is just the pandemic has exposed just how sorry and lazy many Americans are. There have been MANY open jobs during the pandemic..,many businesses have closed due to lack of available workers. Those productive workers who remain get frustrated trying to get their own work done because businesses are so inter-dependent that even if your business is staffed, you simply cannot get timely information/responses from governmental agencies, nonprofits or businesses that you rely on to be able to function.
When the Biden and PDJT administrations started giving the goodies away back in 2020, lazy people were not only getting direct payments from the government but social service and government agencies across the country were given funds to help those in need. So many TRILLIONS of dollars went to state and local governments to disburse to social service agencies that many states/local agencies HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SPEND IT ALL. Dont believe me? Check your own state and city and see.
Now, the chickens are coming home to roost. The eviction moratorium has been lifted. Landlords got so burned they are choosing to sell their homes/apartments rather than rent to irresponsible bums who had funds but didnt pay a dime while the moratorium was in place.
People who could chose retirement often did so. Many companies are responding to pressure to hire minorities for positions they simply arent qualified for to meet some ridiculous “equity” goals that they are running their customers off from sheer impotence. When is the last time you got food at a fast food place that the order was actually given to you as your ordered and paid for it?
This county is not likely to come back from this. I am one of those that believes that we will win back both houses of Congress in November regardless of what so-called negative pundits so or what so-called patriots who tell people not to vote because the elections are rigged do and say.
But even with both Houses of Congress, the American people by and large have gotten a taste of sitting on their asses and it is going to take real leadership to give the American people the nasty medicine that they need. I just dont see it happening.
That is a pretty broad brush. Many people are working two full time jobs to make ends meet – over 5000. Many more are working 2 or 3 or 4 part time jobs to make ends meet. The reason people were not working during the pandemic is that the financial benefits from staying home were greater than those from working. Since then the costs of everything necessary has doubled in many cases and the salaries being offered are insufficient to cover expenses. So, there are few takers. Also, many people who are qualified for those jobs died. Many of those who qualified for those jobs retired. The people showing up at jobs now are often unqualified because they never had the opportunity to learn their position or they switched fields to earn a higher and much needed salary. Also, the people who died include many young people and not just the seasoned workers. Expect much, much more of this in the next few years. Were there a lot of lazy people living on government benefits, undoubtedly. But, that is not the whole picture.
Shouldn’t we be more worried about the Dread Pirate Ragnar raiding our all-important aid ships headed for Ukraine?
Everyone go out to your local colleges and apply for a 20000 loan, so it can be taken care of by FJB. Time for the Revolutionary War 2 to start. Tea party the ballot drop boxes with gasoline and a match. All nonvaxed dishonorable discharged snipers, take your positions. We need a Designated Survivor repeat in DC.
