Purchasing advertising in the national market. The new marketing and branding group behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis purchase ad time on Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity broadcasts. Marketing nationally, and purchasing expensive full minute ad buys targeting the Fox News audience, is confirmation DeSantis has unofficially entered the 2024 campaign race.
All doubts about DeSantis ’24 should be put to rest. As CTH has noted since August 8th [SEE HERE], the professional political managing of Ron DeSantis for a presidential run has become increasingly clear.
The Florida governor went silent following the raid on Mar-a-Lago, sending one tweet from his private account, then remaining in a bunker for the next five days. No doubt he agreed to stay silent at the guidance of the club managers behind his new political construct [that group almost certainly likely knew in advance of the FBI raid]. He exited the bunker with a new press secretary and national brand image launch. Here’s the NATIONAL ad:
.
Once you see the strings on the marionettes you can never unsee them. The GOPe club uses the same play book. If you pulled a focus group of never-trumpers, then watched them discuss their snarky view of the MAGA voters they hate, then packaged that conversation into a targeted ad, this ‘cringeworthy’ outcome is exactly what you get.
The GOPe club are targeting MAGA voters by providing a manufactured and managed alternative to Donald Trump. That’s why you feel a little cringy when you watch the ad. The inauthentic nature transmits within the implied message.
The people behind Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw, likely the same branding group, did the same thing portraying Crenshaw as an action hero.
Ron DeSantis pre-staging in August ’22 is Ted Cruz pre-staging in August ’14.
Everything about Cruz ’16 is identical to DeSantis ’24, including the social media network, influencers and online media groups doing the promotion.

The Managing of DeSantis HERE
The Branding of DeSantis HERE
Club branding is subtle on the image front, but very clear on the substantive messaging side. Social issues selected to maximize camp coalition, and influence base.
Consistently present political messaging where the republican voter base can say “yes.” Keep the “yes” messaging at the forefront (social emphasis). Focus on values. Schools, kids, safety, woke pushback, media bias etc, keep the audiences nodding yes. Ultimately, it’s a sales technique. Identify with the target to influence their decisions.
Issues around multinational & corporate economics, hard lines, foreign policy, all these things must be avoided – except in general terms. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not to be challenged, not really. Keep the message social and build the emotional connection. It is harder to break an emotional bond than a logical or cognitive bond.
These are the political techniques of Lee Atwater that still make up the bulk of the GOPe club playbook. The greatest skill of the professionally republican is to present the illusion of choice in such a way as the voters do not see it.
Keep in mind, back in Washington DC both clubs are collaborating on the Trump removal program because both clubs’ benefit.
If we watch closely, we will see a MAGA-lite, professionally controlled republican go from five-days as a pupa, to chrysalis, to national club butterfly.
We are watching it in real time.
I’m actually a little surprised that DeSantis went along with this ad. My spidey-sense tells me he knew it was cringy, but the outcome helps highlight what happens when the club starts making the decisions. The club has a habit of generating products into an audience they don’t understand.

Desantis is committing hare kari by going along with his gop-e funding
Floridians best take a hard look, the actions will be a tell
The silence over Mara lago and his next silence should tell more
Koch bros
There are no “Koch Brothers” in the sense you mean.
isn’t there at least one?
FRD has nothing to fear.
The RNC wrote a check to Dominion on behalf of FRD.
Within my life time the GOP has worked tirelessly to change the definition of conservative from constitutional principled, to Christian progressive.
Ta-da… Here we are again, giving a Christ like projection to a Trojan horse.
All praise The Ron, or be damned.
Their christian is always with a lower case “c”.
You will know them by their fruits.
We need to dig deep for the them.
We had Top Gun for four years. There is only one Top Gun. We must have him four more.
Top Gun resides at Mar-A-Lago, not in Tallahassee—the Death Star is still positioned at him.
We know ‘HOW’ our Top Gun was shot down. If we allow the dreamscape of a new Top Gun layer over that ‘HOW’….then we continue on to….Electoral ‘Oblivion’….wasn’t that a Tom Cruise movie too?
UGH, Bob, just UGH!
Another Manchurian Candidate! Yes, “Manchurian” as in Manchu as in Fu Manchu.
“Fu” and shame on DeSantis!
Here again, as I have seen too often, a seeming “Conservative” – perhaps in the beginning a real Conservative – is turned into another bought-and-paid-for politician.
To paraphrase: Politics will tend to corrupt you, Life-long politics will tend to corrupt you life-long.
Because President Trump was NOT in politics until his 70’s, and used his early and middle life to become independently wealthy, he has remained incorruptible.
This Guy has some serious issues to fix here in Florida. No Way can he run a Presidential bid and keep our State “between the ditches”. If this guy habitually ignores his voters in Florida he will have no problem letting your concerns fall on deaf ears. I have said repeatedly that we previous DeSantis voters need to have an embarrassing “Rally In Tally” to voice our concerns, properly permitted and TOTALLY PEACEFUL, of course. I hate the fake bomber jacket look as both TOP GUN movies were/are hot garbage. He also needs to fire Cruz’ tailor. I am off to buy a dozen shiners, bass fishing is excellent therapy.
What’s with the leftover Zelensky gear?
Zelensky is cool, in style; Barry, not so much. The aviators is the stomach turner.
Same playbook? They need a different a new consultant if Karl Rove is still orchestrating these.
No keep campaign Karl on the throttle, we need more of these – maybe Part 2 DeS goes to the Ukraine ? (sarcasm)
And the Z can be his backseater –
Yep, Rove has lost his touch, if he ever had it. Hopefully they keep him on the spigot, whizzing away hundreds of millions, or billions of dollars, on mostly fruitless ad buys.
There should be an overlay that says, “Keep DeSantis as Florida Governor.”
Not ready for prime time, if he can be manipulated like this. Choose your friends wisely, Ron!
I’ll painfully admit.. bush “fooled me once..”
Everyone knows the rest.
I will vote for him for Governor, but I will write in Mr. Trump for president.
skipper
Me too, what upsets me most right now is he has’nt even one his second term as Governor. I know he has done a good job in Florida but the demographics have changed here. We have had a huge influx of people from liberal states and cannot assume they will vote for Desantis. He barely won last time.
I can’t wait to vote against him. Why do these consultants make them wear suits that don’t fit?
Lulu,
I can understand your frustration, but, sadly, unless there appears a better alternative, I’m keeping my powder dry for the next two years.
Best,
skipper
My damn powder has been dry for so long, that I wonder if it’s still usable for anything besides dust.
why are their arms out from their sides?
underarm material too tight?
or is this supposed to be a “look” that is desired?
It appears to me that they could very well be wearing ballistic vests under those suits. That is just my opinion.
I am not yet convinced that DeSantis is an illusion, but if he is, this ad succinctly illustrates that the Enemy knows what the appeal of Trump is, and they are not at all believers in their own assertions, ad nauseaum, that Trump supporters are mindless cult members. This ad brings forth that the appeal to Trump is he represents the people, defends the people, as against the nightmarish and insane, anti-human great reset nightmare. Whomever designed this ad understands that we hate and fear the dystopia of our amoral elites above all things. We are trying to restore the republic that stands for human rights (the existence of human consciousness and conscience) as against these ghouls.
The add will appeal to moderates, independents, establishments – the only ones RINOS identify with.
WeThePeople identify with Patriot Donald Trump.
I watched years ago as a Democrat and Republican fought it out for Governor of Minnesota, only to have Jessie Ventura win. My 20 year old co-worker at the time loved it that his generation ousted the old guard and got someone new and exciting in.
The appeal of these action figure politicians in the age of action figure movies will draw those who think as deeply as a bag of popcorn to vote for them.
Excellent example … I’ve always said Obama was the “American Idol” president … and why 40million stupid white people voted for the “cool black guy” gimmick.
I’d like to see Ron, Kristi or any other GOPe puppet draw rally crowds in the 10s of thousands like President Trump did, and still does. Then we’ll see what’s the better draw. Traditional Dukakis-like ads from Rove and Co., or unconventional rally notifications from the Trump team.
I watched the ad…….creepy indeed.
The shine is off DeSantis – they will ruin him. There is NOTHING a Karl Rove can’t ruin if someone is dumb enough to listen to him.
Okay, watched the ad.
It does not work.
Strictly a Consultant / poll driven statement by now … Remember the strings .. Fox / Murdochs /Ryan going all in on this DeS . Roll out – will be interesting to see how many Fox Personalties roll -over for him – looking like Ted 2.0 .
you guys don’t get it , nobody has a problem with him STAYING as Florida Governor – apparently only person that does is Ron himself – When re-elected he will be absentee Gov. From the get go , so get used to that .
Yep, precisely, if re-elected, he’ll spend the entire period prior to the 2024 election campaigning with very little attention paid to the executive responsibilities of Florida, plus Florida is a pivotal state in 2024 and always under attack by the Communists.
Signaling early was a tactical error IMO. His handlers screwed up.
That’s a shame. He’s too young for what’s coming; for where we are nationally and internationally, he’s too young. I didn’t think he was this vain; that he was wise enough to focus on consolidating the wellbeing of the people of Florida.
The governorships are enormously important. De Santis is a great fit and he’s the living proof (compared to that clown in Georgia) that great governors are essential to the wellbeing of their state and the wellbeing of the nation.
But DeSantis apparently has gotten politically greedy. He’s apparently putting the institution of the GOP insiders above the best interests of the people of Florida… and apparently he neither smart enough or mature enough to see it.
“Make me POTUS because THEY want you to. Be assured, I will betray all of you for them just as I have betrayed the people of Florida who put their trust in me to be their governor.”
What a shame. If hubris has taken hold and he truly seeks to be POTUS in 2024, what imminent squandering of a promising career to occur at such a crucial time in history.
And all that to put the wellbeing of his family and his state at risk in doing so.
How easy it is to become what we say we hate.
Your comment about his young family is apropos.
Neither his wife nor their young children should be subjected to the District of Corruption.
She could be the one pushing him to do this. Like Jill.
I wonder why DeSantis never once in that ad saying vote for me for Governor? After today’s primary he has like 9 weeks before the general election
I thought it odd, as you say…running for a state office and showing this type of video?
Amateur hour.
Trying to compete with the acumen and ‘presence’ of The Donald, is a losing proposition…
He tried to be commanding and straight spoken. And emanat leadership???
Yesterday was not your day, Ron (today is Tuesday now).
Howdy, Ag!
We watched this commercial on tv, last night, too.
He didn’t really have much of a message.
It seemed like an odd, vanity video to charm the public.
As it ended, I looked over to my husband (class. of ’84) and said,
“He’s running”.
(This was an embarrassing ad that should have been kept in his private, family video collection.)
did he mention President Trump?
He actually did mention Trump by name, but also did you notice how quickly he turned the conversation away from Trump and to other actions the FBI has taken? He couldnt get the conversation way from Trump quickly enough and did you see the way he dodged that last question on whether or not he and Trump were speaking?
I was expecting him to try to not mention Trump’s name until after the election in November.
DeSantis also wouldn’t tell Glenn Beck about his current relationship with Trump.
Cruz looks like he just got goosed and DeSantis looks like he likes getting goosed. Good Lord, they think we are dumb!!
Uniparty going for broke? The giant has been drugged, infected and slumbering and the big brains that did know it’ll only last so long. Then we’ll be coming for them.
So very disappointed – just another example of why Republicans/Conservatives are screwed.
This ad is cringy, to say the least. I mean, really. And to make him use his son as a prop? Ick.
This ad is so not what DeSantis has been in any other press conference or public appearance.
IMO, he should be embarrassed.
They should pull this ad.
How to misread the American public in one easy lesson.
Using his family in this manner sends a coded message:
“SEND HELP! WE ARE HELD HOSTAGE BY THE WEF!”
That would be the acceptable explanation. I can’t think of another, besides they truly believe that FAUX News viewers are absolute morons.
GOPe should have run this ad on the Cartoon Network instead. Perhaps they can market ‘cringy’ Ron and his son into action figure heroes in time for Christmas!
After the massive crash and burn of Lizzie … the “club managers” are desperate to eliminate President Trump.
It appears the RINOS have joined the effort to disprove Einstein definition of insanity … instead … they will destroy the DeSantis Florida momentum.
There. Is. No. Such. Thing. As. MAGA. Light. !!!
DeSantis should remain right where he is now.. in the great state of Florida. His national ambitions notwithstanding, we can then expect him to continue flexing his MAGA creds uninterrupted.
DeSantis has done some good things for Florida thus far, not only signing short-lived executive orders, but actually working within the legislature to pass MAGA bills of substance.
However, DeSantis has *inexplicably* stopped short of election reform, and this is a YUGE tell. With hackable computer terminals firmly in place, his re-election is obviously not a sure thing.
This means DeSantis must sing for his supper like every other RINO. Anybody worth their MAGA creds would make election reform a *TOP* priority.
Why the military jets and hangers? He was an advisor to Seal Team One, not a member, and his only time in a military plane was as a passenger.
Yep, even the great Patriots over at AceofSpades are pushing Trump aside…
The Mar-a-Lago raid is clearly to grab and re-classify all of the bullshit they concocted in Crossfire Hurricane, etc. They – the government and republican donor class – are absolutely terrified of Trump 2.0.
If “they” are pushing President Trump aside, they aren’t patriots.
I agree with all the suspicions re: Gov DeSantis’ recent behavior and political moves, like the silly video above. I think some FBI/Dems and sneaky RINOs who were in on it gave him a heads’ up re: the Mar-a-Lago raid and told him to keep a low profile — or else!
Ron’s ambition for higher office and lack of shock/outrage were very telling — and not in a good way. Harvard Law Prof Alan Dershowitz, no Trump supporter, has been all over the media with arguments that the DOJ should have persisted with the subpoena process that had been followed seeking the presidential records earlier this year. He called this move “unprecedented”!
If President Trump was a resident of California or New York, the Florida Governor, at least at first, could have avoided commenting, but a strong statement about the DOJ’s move on the private residence of a former President would have been justified, no matter what political party either one belongs to, especially as DeSantis has let fly with a huge media buy that shows he’s aiming for the job once held by DJT. Seems strange that he did not side with Trump against the yammerings of Loser Liz Cheney, either. In fact, has DeSantis made any mention of the Jan 6 Commission? Didn’t he just say that you should never back down from a fight?
Showing strength?
Showing toughness?
Dressing up and being tough with the media?
OR
Informing Xi you have launched missile strikes on Syria while eating “the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you have ever seen?”
🤔
I remember that … one could hear the collective gasp of the establishment.
That commercial is terrible. He looks like he is trying to be a little President Trump without the love of country and citizens. He reminds me of Governor Abbott, he gets all the little things done but the border is wide open. I don’t feel any type of connection to Desantis after listening to him.
This path DeSantis is on shows his complete lack of judgment politically, but this is typical GOPe. That is, he’s dumb enough to go the GOPe route.
You think he should ditch this and embrace MAGA? Of course, but he’s too dumb.
No thanks. It’s Trump or nothing.
Eye patch Ron.
Goodness, this is the worst most tired branding ever.
Does team DeSantis have any political instincts?
They’d rather lose to Democrats (and they’d be OK with that) than let the base take over the party.
The helmet clip reminded me of Snoopy Dukakis in the tank.
The Crenshaw ad is especially puke worthy on many levels.
Nope, no way a woman is ever going to beat a healthy, physically fit man. Hurt his parts, yes, but take him down and then call for the next man? No way ever.
Instead of making an ad with any substance, they instead are making today’s (un)action hero movies with all the (in)correct social engineering included (women stronger than men, so only another woman can take on a woman – ha ha ar ar ar so funny!).
And what’s with the doll action figures of Ted Cruz and Ron D? Lookie, their arms are so lifelike! You can pose them, you can make their arms go up and down, and if you place them at just the right height the figures will look like they aren’t just plastic dolls you can buy and sell.
Nice to see comments aren’t allowed in the Crenshaw ad. If they were positive they’d be allowed.
President Trump is going to run in 2024. Governor DeSantis is not going to challenge him. Realistically, DeSantis won’t have the money, and no one but PDJT can draw 50,000 fans to a rally. DeSantis is too smart to charge that windmill.
.
Opinion heard from someone in the military: “Didn’t Vlodymyr Zelensky already do this movie?”
.
Watch Mike Pompeo too. He’s due for an ad that sucks.
Hopefully not as sucky as Kristi Noem’s or Ron DeSantis’s.
We’ll see if Pompeo goes undignified or if he takes another path.
The crazy thing is we know the GOPe’s minions lurk here.
And they still get it wrong because they lack proctology coverage.
Hence their heads remain permanently implanted up their butts.
It’s painful to see just how dumb they all are. Geez how can they not see that we are sick and tired of their fake hero crap?
Mock a well received America First film?
Mock those who appreciate the tenacity of the film’s characters?
Mock how many Americans view their historic military?
Raises the question: did DeSantis stand up for Floridians in order to have sound bites for today and tomorrow?
See, this works both ways.
I now doubt DeSantis’ “good intentions” and wonder if Florida could do better.
So the club is willing to give the rubes a thin veneer of MAGA on some local social issues, but there will be no America first economics from DeSantis. Guy voted for TPP when he was in congress so we know he’s US Chamber approved. He must be betting on Trump being blocked from running by the DOJ, because he loses the Florida primary to Trump by large margins.
OK, I’ll bite one last time….
Anyone whose seen the previous ads for DeSantis will recognize some of the same “corny” technique used here. The ad serves to highlight his fighting style as Florida Governor.
I believe RD is positioning to: 1 – win re-election as Governor; 2 – be a future choice for President when that opportunity is available. If President Trump SURVIVES the onslaught being aligned against him by the cabal (I seriously doubt it), I believe DeSantis will not run against PDJT.
If PDJT is unable to run, or does not run for whatever reason, pick your poison carefully. The left so wants everyone to hate or marginalize the possible front runner behind Trump….that allows them to destroy the top two candidates all at the same time. They already know the puppet will not be running again…he’s served his purpose. Nope, they will run the better looking and energetic clown from California.
IF PDJT CANNOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT, WHAT WILL WE DO? The raid is now confirmed to be aiming for much more than “classified docs”. They seek evidence to use in the SEC investigation for Truth Social. The cabal is aiming multiple cannons at our great President…sadly they have enough power to find or manufacture something to take him out of the race.
Can DeSantis be compromised by the money? Sure…anyone can. Has he? Sundance says yes, but he really doesn’t know. Take him out at your own peril. I still believe he may have The Right Stuff.
Two things…
-He no doubt knew the feds were coming to Florida and didn’t do dick point shit when Mar A Lago was was being raided. He should have been there with a bullhorn raising Cain.
-And the first thing he tries to whitewash with phony bluster is the mainstream corporate media.
He’s ok at the state level but as Lyndon Baines Johnson said, “I never trust a man unless I’ve got his pecker in my pocket.” And DeSantis has obviously allowed his pecker into the GOP’s pocket.
“Never back down from a fight”.
My butt. He sure hid away from the continuing fallout from the *raid* on President Trump’s home.
Beep Beep beep……he needs lots of room to back up…..
Disappointed in Desantis….
Familiarity breeds contempt.
There’s a reality-based distinction between the following two things:
1) Playing the lottery based on someone else’s recommendation.
2) Comprehending historical and reality-based analysis and deciding what you will do with what you have comprehended.
Your assumption that 1) is the same as 2) is silly. If you want to have someone else be responsible for your thinking and your choices, you’re in the wrong place.
No need for you to apologize.
I apologize for not recognizing your comment as an attempt at humor.
I love it Sundance! Cruz and DeSantis both stand there like program robots.
What happens when the product (let’s say, dog food) gets repackaged and rebranded, but still tastes the same? Will the dogs still eat the bad-tasting dog food?
Another question: what if the GOPe is completely fine losing with its chosen candidate so long as its not forced to win with the candidate it doesn’t approve of?
Put another way, what will we do once We the People reach the critical mass of understanding that voting is nothing but a mirage–smoke and mirrors meant to give us the illusion of choice, when in fact, there is no such thing?
Or, will that revelation ever materialize?
Oh dear. Fake energy.
I had such high hopes but it seems that he has turned himself to clay to be molded by gop professional club.
Then again, maybe the RNC Club members know something we don’t, that being Trump will never run again. But if DeSantis does run against Trump, I have a feeling it is going to backfire on him big time. Deplorables don’t forget.
I believe the ad is cringe worthy but will others especially non Treepers feel the same way? Or will they focus on his clips confronting the leftist corrupt msm instead which are enjoyable to watch? I don’t know? “The club has a habit of generating products into an audience they don’t understand.” – Sundance. Another truth! If the DOJ/FBI, White House, Democrats and Uniparty Republicans can take out President Trump and open a clear path in 2024 for DeSantis, Haley or Noem then the swamp/deep state will survive basically intact and untouched! God help us! Hosanna!
If Desantis is being run by the GOPe RINOs I will have a hard time voting for him. I cannot go back to the milquetoast world of Bush, Romney, McCain. Once you have had the best (Trump) everything else is just bran flakes.
Without a lot of Trump’s 71 mil voters Desantis will have a hard time winning if he runs.
Dukokis junior. Just missing the tank
All of DeSantis’s ads have been corny, many have included his children, and they emphasize his enthusiasm to fight the media and woke culture. This is nothing new.
I highly doubt DeSantis will take on Trump. I do believe he would run for president if for some reason Trump declined to do so.
I understand why so many of us are skeptical and lack trust, but running down DeSantis seems to me to be counter productive. He’s the best governor in the country. He’s at the top of our bench.
Did he know the FBI was going to raid Trump? I doubt it. What could he do about it at this time?
Does anyone really believe that Trump and DeSantis haven’t spoken to each other about it?
You don’t know. Stop running down DeSantis before the midterms. If you want to attack him after that, go for it if you want, but we need him to win in November.
I have every confidence Floridians will re-elect RDS regardless of any nay-saying here or elsewhere. He has been a good executive for the citizens of Florida.
I think the discussion is more about analysis and criticism of his career strategy.
Florida does have a joint operations division that works with the federal government on matters of justice and law enforcement and the governor is part of that system. We can easily assess their joint efforts throughout time to handle matters of criminal justice since FL is a hotbed of such matters. History, even if liars desire it, cannot be completely erased or altered. Some truth always leaks through. That’s where Sundance’s ‘dive deep’ shines.
RDS has moved deliberately. He’s a lawyer and a seasoned politician. He’s making his own choices. It’s real.
Why do you think he is launching a national campaign right before the midterms instead of focusing on his re-election in Florida?
Why do you think he didn’t speak out more forcefully against the raid that just happened in his state?
Of course he knew about it ahead of time.
Agree that he knew about it ahead of time; BTW where WAS the Gov that morning? Also, I’m pretty certain DeSantis knew all about the antics of the Federal Magistrate in So FL who prepared the warrant to get into Mar-a-Lago. Remember he’s the guy who defended Jeffrey Epstein for child trafficking in PB many years ago. What a mess;-)
Hmmm. Maybe the bad guys have got something on the Gov and he’s misdirecting attention. . . . etc.
