If you pulled a focus group of never-trumpers, then watched them discuss their snarky view of the MAGA voters they hate, then packaged that conversation into a targeted ad, this ‘cringeworthy’ outcome is exactly what you get.
The GOPe club are targeting MAGA voters by providing a manufactured and managed alternative to Donald Trump. That’s why you feel a little cringy when you watch the ad. The inauthentic nature transmits within the implied message.
The people behind Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw, likely the same branding group, did the same thing portraying Crenshaw as an action hero.
Ron DeSantis pre-staging in August ’22 is Ted Cruz pre-staging in August ’14.
Everything about Cruz ’16 is identical to DeSantis ’24, including the social media network, influencers and online media groups doing the promotion.

Club branding is subtle on the image front, but very clear on the substantive messaging side. Social issues selected to maximize camp coalition, and influence base.

Schools, kids, safety, woke pushback, media bias etc, keep the audiences nodding yes. Ultimately, it’s a sales technique. Identify with the target to influence their decisions.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not to be challenged, not really. Keep the message social and build the emotional connection. It is harder to break an emotional bond than a logical or cognitive bond.

I’m actually a little surprised that DeSantis went along with this ad. My spidey-sense tells me he knew it was cringy, but the outcome helps highlight what happens when the club starts making the decisions. The club has a habit of generating products into an audience they don’t understand.

DJT instinctively knows people who he meets; he has a very good sense of the type of person they are, (Read Art of the Deal) and he uses that ability as he plays his games. It’s not about the money (and I paraphrase) it’s about the winning …of the game.
He groomed DeSantis to be the Governor of Florida..he helped him along the way; good thing because he saw something in DeSantis that could be used to the betterment of the American People and DeSantis could benefit also; not to mention another Republican Governor for MAGA.
All of that laid out; He knew who DeSantis was. If he could be persuaded by PDJT to run for Governor of Florida; he could be persuaded to run for POTUS and take the dive on FBI SWAMP RAID at Mara-a-Lago.
So, I believe PDJT has DeSantis’s call number.
right before the 2016 election, days before if I am not mistaken, DJT, 45, had some political researcher crunching numbers in a wishy washy district. The researcher believed the numbers implied a good outcome, if DJT went to Michigan, to campaign. He did and he won that district. One he was told that he could not win in.
POTUS 45 backs up his instincts, no doubt about it. Again, business is in business to make money. Winning in a district, is like winning in business.
Some of us, Sundance included saw DeSantis true nature, long before Sundance clarified it.

Donald Trump is one of the highest ranked and most celebrated American chess players of all time. He’s an expert at three-dimensional variants. I’d like to believe..perhaps it’s the glass full optimism in me… he and DeSantis have this mapped out. I’m reserving judgement while Trump keeps touting DeSantis as “Best Governor ever”. RNC may be playing DeSantis as the ‘candidate’… the Lion will always be the Lion.
Many people have short memories. Many think DeSantis never locked down Florida which is completely false. On April 1st 2020 he ordered a complete lockdown. Even beaches were closed.
Now, I do give him credit for doing a 180 that summer but Kemp(who I’m not a fan of) actually opened up Georgia in a significant way sooner than Ron in Florida. Also Noem in South Dakota never had any restrictions.
Overall I think both Trump and DeSantis made a mistake with lockdown but I realize the vast majority of the country was in a panic and frankly fear became the driving force. Had Trump ignored the “experts” he probably would have been impeached and Pence put in charge. Most polls at the time showed the vast majority(including many conservatives) clamoring for lockdown.
Early on Trump had no reason to believe Fauci was a ghoulish fraud. He had been in that position for decades and appointed by Reagan. If I were in his shoes in March 2020 and supposed top experts were saying “lockdown or 1 million+ will likely die from this novel virus in the next few months”, it would have been damn hard not to follow that advice.

a veternarian did not ant to vaccinate a litter runt fearing the distemper jab would kill the pup. He had the litter owner leave the pup unjabbed…and continue exposure to jabbed litter mates. The pup then had titres drawn and it showed immunity of an acceptable level from nothing more than exposure to vaccinated litter mates. So do we have immunity based on exposuure to our jabbed counterparts in the human world??? Comparative medicine anyone???
There is no way anyone would have, until the last few years, suspected or believed (except the military industrial complex) any government official, of causing the demise or risk of, of millions of people. We now know differently.And they played on the fear of the masses.

I got Delta a year afterward – saved by monoclonals (thank you President Trump!) – and it was. Not. Fun.
But now I have my prized lifetime T-cell immunity.
I also suspect that what I might have gotten from my jabbed darling was a skin-contact serving of spike protein which made my hand arthritis flare up bigly in spring of 2020. It settled down a little eventually, but it’s as if it got a rocket booster at the time, and jumped a notch that never went away. I even ended up changing to mandolin from guitar because the neck is slimmer and doesn’t hurt CMC joints as much.
Also I noticed that the arthritis did not flare up anywhere near that level after Delta. That week or so everything hurt, but it didn’t last long once the monoclonals were on board.
My conclusion: The jabs, with their huge loads of spike, seem to be more damaging than the Wuhan lab bioweapon itself.
I am so grateful to thoughtful people here whose postings in 2020 helped me decide against succumbing to the jab pressure.

Trump agreed to a 2 week lockdown. By the time 2 weeks had gone by, the narrative was set and he’d have been considered the same as a mass murderer if he’d tried to lift the lockdown, as every single official was for more lockdowns.
So a Governor with millions in donations can’t run a campaign add on Fox without him running for president in 2024. I am not buying it…. If Trump runs Desantis won’t and FOX is a great way to reach Florida voters for the November governor race…especially the seniors.
If I was on a jury deciding if DeSantis is definitely campaigning for POTUS in 2024, I would have to vote No due to it not yet being “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.” It might take a formal announcement to eliminate the sliver of doubt remaining.
But the evidence is definitely piling up daily on sundance’s prosecution side of the issue.
Agreed. Considering his silence(besides one tweet) on the disgusting FBI raid that happened in his very state also backs up the Sundance position in my view.

Or, testing the waters. DeSantis has to know he cannot compete with 45 and that an endorsement or lack of, is a kiss of death.
Some have short memories, as it was only 2 weeks ago, the Florida governor was still somewhat supported during the raid fiasco. And it takes time for details to emerge.
Am waiting for this governor’s enemies to come forth with the claims that ‘he knew about the raid in advance’ if they haven’t already. Hindsight is always 20/20….

I live a long way from Florida, and this ad ran in my local market tonight. I have been around a long time, and I have NEVER seen an ad for anyone running for governor of Florida on my TV here. This is NOT an ad for governor. Sundance is right.

I still cannot get over how much some of the posters were fawning all over DeSantis when the “Bad Guys” were running the distraction Trump/DeSantis wedge and it was working. It is like some CTH posters are the same as Libtards when it comes to rationale, judgment, commonsense.

If Desantis truly grasps the magnitude of what he’s accomplishing at the state level and well understands (as he should) the futility of accomplishing much of anything at the federal level, he should become the LEADER-BY-EXAMPLE of the nascent States Rights movement.
Instead, everything he’s accomplished in Florida amounts to little more than an ambition-laced preamble to ‘higher office’.
Which is exactly what it is.
I get that most of the commenters here and SD are Trump or nothing…… but the point is to win….. Trump will be 78 in 2024…..he may need to pass the baton to the next generation……………. so who will be his heir? Maybe DeSantis…… maybe Donald Trump Jr………………. only time will tell.
