Purchasing advertising in the national market. The new marketing and branding group behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis purchase ad time on Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity broadcasts. Marketing nationally, and purchasing expensive full minute ad buys targeting the Fox News audience, is confirmation DeSantis has unofficially entered the 2024 campaign race.
All doubts about DeSantis ’24 should be put to rest. As CTH has noted since August 8th [SEE HERE], the professional political managing of Ron DeSantis for a presidential run has become increasingly clear.
The Florida governor went silent following the raid on Mar-a-Lago, sending one tweet from his private account, then remaining in a bunker for the next five days. No doubt he agreed to stay silent at the guidance of the club managers behind his new political construct [that group almost certainly likely knew in advance of the FBI raid]. He exited the bunker with a new press secretary and national brand image launch. Here’s the NATIONAL ad:
.
Once you see the strings on the marionettes you can never unsee them. The GOPe club uses the same play book. If you pulled a focus group of never-trumpers, then watched them discuss their snarky view of the MAGA voters they hate, then packaged that conversation into a targeted ad, this ‘cringeworthy’ outcome is exactly what you get.
The GOPe club are targeting MAGA voters by providing a manufactured and managed alternative to Donald Trump. That’s why you feel a little cringy when you watch the ad. The inauthentic nature transmits within the implied message.
The people behind Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw, likely the same branding group, did the same thing portraying Crenshaw as an action hero.
Ron DeSantis pre-staging in August ’22 is Ted Cruz pre-staging in August ’14.
Everything about Cruz ’16 is identical to DeSantis ’24, including the social media network, influencers and online media groups doing the promotion.

The Managing of DeSantis HERE
The Branding of DeSantis HERE
Club branding is subtle on the image front, but very clear on the substantive messaging side. Social issues selected to maximize camp coalition, and influence base.
Consistently present political messaging where the republican voter base can say “yes.” Keep the “yes” messaging at the forefront (social emphasis). Focus on values. Schools, kids, safety, woke pushback, media bias etc, keep the audiences nodding yes. Ultimately, it’s a sales technique. Identify with the target to influence their decisions.
Issues around multinational & corporate economics, hard lines, foreign policy, all these things must be avoided – except in general terms. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not to be challenged, not really. Keep the message social and build the emotional connection. It is harder to break an emotional bond than a logical or cognitive bond.
These are the political techniques of Lee Atwater that still make up the bulk of the GOPe club playbook. The greatest skill of the professionally republican is to present the illusion of choice in such a way as the voters do not see it.
Keep in mind, back in Washington DC both clubs are collaborating on the Trump removal program because both clubs’ benefit.
If we watch closely, we will see a MAGA-lite, professionally controlled republican go from five-days as a pupa, to chrysalis, to national club butterfly.
We are watching it in real time.
I’m actually a little surprised that DeSantis went along with this ad. My spidey-sense tells me he knew it was cringy, but the outcome helps highlight what happens when the club starts making the decisions. The club has a habit of generating products into an audience they don’t understand.

That ad is truly cringe-inducing from the very first few moments.
How in the hell did he agree to that even if he is for sale?
It does show extremely poor judgement …
I hate it when the media picks winners and losers.
DeSantis needs to stay as Florida’s governor now. Maybe 2028. Just heard on America’s Voice where John Solomon was interviewed. He released the info that Biden was working with archives and told them to take away Trump’s executive privileges and okayed the Raid on MAL.
Trump is a fighter. He is going on the offensive (should have done it earlier).
He is not dependent on Rinos to help him. DeSantis is not financially able to fight this and would probably fold.
Yes, DeSantis is a great governor but Trump is the man to fight this
Trump, with the media 100% against him 24/7 and his own arrogance/obnoxiousness will never win the independent vote, I reiterate never win the independent vote. Thus, Senor Don Quixote, promoting Trump and only Trump will gain you only a Pyrrhic victory, sure to loose to any democrat not named Biden or Harris in 2024.
I’m an Independent, and I voted for Trump. Trump won the Independent vote in 2016. So your “Trump will never win the Independent vote” is nothing but MSM koolaid.
And you’re wrong. We no longer care about your winning-at-the-cost-of-our-principles hostage strategy while we end up with nothing but your milquetoast RINO’s. If you ever plan to win another election again, you’ll vote for the candidate we want. Otherwise, welcome to Communism. The choice is entirely yours to make. Enjoy.
Well he won it in 2016 and 2020. That being said no other Republican can win in PA, WI, MI as they are anti-worker and openly loathe the working class.
Nice try – but no cigar.
I happen to like President Trump and his arrogance and obnoxious ways.
He is not a smarmy smooth talking politician.
He tells it like it is!
That is part of his appeal-he says out loud what we are thinking.
On January 6th. I changed my voter registration from Republican to PND. Party not Designated. My States term for Independent.
I will be voting for President Trump again in 2024.
Even if his name is not on the ballot. No matter what the circumstances are. I will write his name in
I am an indy and I voted for Trump twice Will do so again
This junk of won’t vote for is NUTS
All Trump has do is REMIND folks of the GREATNESS
That being said … who will air ads. Even Faux News resorted to sticking his rallies in muted boxes on Hannity show in 2020
He needs the media and they HATE him and they HATE us as much
But, Sundance: should ”something” happen to PDT (and we all know what that means, as in Epstein or Andrew Breitbart…) on the road to 2024, MAGA voters will need someone to turn to, and fast. If DeSantis isn’t Plan B – who is?
If “something” does happen to Trump, it’s because DeSantis is sticking his disloyal nose where it didn’t belong.
I’m disappointed in DeSantis beyond belief.
Why? He is no more than a power hungry political hack. They ALL are.
They all have ALWAYS been political hacks — they would do a deal with the devil if they thought it would get them the position they want.
Giant DeSantis fail. to have an ad cut on his behalf and not include even a passing mention of the REAL leader of the Republican party, DJT, is unforgivable. He’s truly jumped the shark and all the Uniparty money and advice won’t rescue him.
If that happens it’s probably the beginning of a civil war and the election gets canceled.
Since when do people owe Trump anything? He is not a MAGA King.
He gave us the kill shots (I am, of course, referring to the vaxx) and still didn’t disavow it.
He let the J6ers run into a trap and didn’t pardon them before he left the White House.
Now look at DeSantis:
He defied the establishment and Big Pharma on vaxx and lockdowns by keeping Florida free and open.
Took on a giant media corporation (Disney) and put them in their place.
Fired a left-wing DA and if it wasn’t enough, frog-marched that puke off the premises.
He is a pro-life, pro social media accountability, and a low tax governor.
How is all that a bad thing? And just because he is not a one-percenter like Trump, is he suddenly not good enough to run for president?
Trump and De Santis are both very viable candidates.
I agree president Trumps pardons and lack of pardons were infuriating. I also agree about the poison. However, it is what Donald Trump means to the people and the movement. He has inspired millions to start paying attention. Those millions will learn and awaken millions more. We did not lose our republic over night and will not regain it with the snap of the fingers. Many people are now running for office that would have left it to others before. These people are patriots. They are MAGA.
“Since when do people owe Trump anything?” This was your initial question.
People owe President Trump an enormous amount of respect and gratitude, if for no other reason because he defeated Hillary Clinton and saved our country from destruction. We also owe Trump respect and gratitude for his many, many other tremendous accomplishments, especially his fighting the globalists’ agenda. That does not mean that we have to agree with everything he has done.
By way of contrast, Ron DeSantis supported globalism by voting for the TPP. DeSantis needs to be questioned about that vote and whether or not he maintains his former stance on that disastrous trade deal.
Many people want President Trump to disavow the covid-19 shot and maybe he will. He never mandated that anyone get it. He was in an unprecedented situation dealing with covid-19 and under immense pressure to take action and he relied on Mike Pence to oversee the covid-19 task force. We see how Mike Pence betrayed him and Pence is still fighting against him to this day on behalf of the establishment.
The globalists fear President Trump far more far than Ron DeSantis. That should give us pause, as well as the fact that the globalists want to use DeSantis to drive a wedge in Trump’s base of support. We should not allow that division to happen. We should also remember that President Trump supported DeSantis’s campaign for governor and DeSantis owes him a debt of gratitude for that.
President Trump fought hard and courageously for us. And now that he is being ruthlessly attacked on numerous fronts we owe him our support and fervent prayers. And Ron DeSantis needs to stand up for him as well.
I’m fine with all that… I am not against Trump and yes, we owe Trump a great deal of gratitude for exposing the “Deep State” and defeating that corrupt, crazy old bat, Hillary Clinton. Yes, he is the guy who opened the eyes of the millions of Americans to the lies and the fact that the corporate media could not and should not be trusted, mostly by being relentlessly attacked, libeled and defamed by them, and not because he had a strategic plan to do so.
I just don’t think that DeSantis should be accused of being ‘disloyal’ to Trump. It’s not like Trump was his mentor or financial backer. And I don’t like it when people start to act and sound like MAGA was a cult of personality around its founder, Donald Trump, to the point of becoming a religion…
I think Trump deserves the credit for his undeniable achievements. Heck, I feel like I owe him big time myself! But I also see Trump for what he is, a brave but whiny and impulsive old man who lacks certain skills and refinement to take on the permanent bureaucracy and the establishment GOP. I guess what I am getting at is you won’t be able to defeat a guy like McConnell and the Deep State by attacking and calling them out on Twitter. I know that you should only go to war if you 1) have a clear objective or plan; 2) can (or will) CLEARLY DEFINE what VICTORY looks like, and: 3) fully intend to WIN IT as quickly as possible with as few casualties ON YOUR SIDE as possible. And Trump had no plan and no idea who the REAL enemies were when he became POTUS back in 2017. By the way, despite Donald Trump’s financial prowess, there was no and still is no sophisticated intel organization (as far as I can tell) that would assist him to deal with his enemies in a place like DC that runs on blackmail and leverage. So my question is are we going to see a second term (if we can prevent the GOP and Dems from stealing another election fro. MAGA) with him stumbling around and taking advice from guys like Pence, Kushner, Priebus and Mulvaney, or will he be able to cull the hostile elements inside the government agencies within two first weeks of his presidency (and I believe that it’s exactly how much time he will have to do so, if he wins)…
And my biggest issue with Donald Trump is that a lot of what he did during his first term as POTUS was a result of a what ssemed to be a spontaneous development than proper preparation or planning, and he appeared to be more surprised with the outcome than anybody else, which is generally not a good sign…
Therefore, we need at least two viable candidates and I disagree with this blog’s take on DeSesantis and am not in favor of an ‘All or Nothing’ proposition, with ALL being Donald Trump.
A question for you –
Prior to President Trump, did you know the degree of corruption
in government? Such as the entrenched bureaucracies, FBI, DOJ,
military complex, etc.? Did you know there was a Uniparty
consisting of both the democrat and republican clubs who
worked against the American people?
NO? Neither did I. I suspected, but had no idea it was this bad.
I do not agree with one word you stated.
And rather than argue about all of it, I will say this
President Trump is not a King.
We all know the pandemic was planned and the World Health
Organization along with the Centers for Disease Control had control.
President Trump was backed into a corner no matter which road he took.
Not being a scientist himself, he trusted those who held positions in
the medical field.
President Trump had no idea what was going on in the Capital as he
was still giving a speech at the time. How was he to know that people
whose only “crime” if you will, was walking into the building as the
doors were opened by the capital police for the most part. Were there
a few scumbags? Yes, but at the time no one knew who they were.
President Trump would not have known at the time he was president
who the good guys were from the bad guys.
If DeSantis isn’t Plan B – who is
It’s too early to worry about that. Presidential candidates usually don’t announce their runs until late Spring of the year prior to the election. So expect people to announce early next year.
Also, DeSantis appears to be no good, so DeSantis should no longer be Plan B.
Not only that but if “something” happens to President Trump, the election will be the last thing anybody worries about. Taking care of business will be the first.
Bingo !!! Brilliant !! Spot on
Exactly!!
well, we let them burn the country down with the Belt Loops Matter crowd with the help of LEOs, shut the country down and force mask on us over a cold virus while mandating an experimental gene therapy and then steal a federal election. they are still wearing mask. this country wouldnt stand up against a bag of cotton candy.
Nice thought -not really … you mean he is insurance policy … kind of troll- like comment …
Given the current domestic situation, if ‘something happens to PDJT’, that’s the go signal. My advice? Stay out of the way. I’d expect plenty of civilian casualties, e.g. the occupied countries during WW2.
How RDS factors into the results of that scenario IDK, too many variables.
Write in Donald J. Trump’s name.
That is hopeless. Might as well put that vote right in the pile of fraudulent votes because it only helps the left. Everyone needs to back the endorsed candidate, hold their nose and get it done. Has anyone noticed any democrat coming over to side with republicans? There is a chance RINOS will change their minds but no chance any democrat will.
No.
I will not be complicit in my own demise.
I will not give my sanction to those who would destroy me, even if that sanction is only my vote for a RINO.
That is exactly how we got into this mess.
The Democrats and RINOS have been running this good cop/ bad cop scam on us for decades, and we Conservatives have bought into it.
No. No more.
I have a dream: 18+ million American voters writing in Donald Trump’s name. (sigh)
Socialism is by vote.
Communism is by force.
It’s death by suicide or murder.
Ayn Rand said something along those lines.
Death by Democrats
Or
Death by Republicans
Just different wings on
The same bird.
A Vulture.
Just thought f something. Who was it DeSantis, who pushed your campaign over the top in your governors race? Oh ya, the name you refuse to mention. MAGA nation knows and won’t forget.
Agreed, further why telegraph your defense or punch.
Personally I sometimes visualize see President Trump get nominated by DeSantice as Speaker of the house. Sounds a little nuts too but I live in Florida for the last 4 years from Communist Facist Nazi Party of Minnesota.
Unfortunately Halley is spot on correct. These last couple of Arkansized hits on key people were just practice practice practiced for CIA and all other corrupt Agency’s of our virtually destroyed country.
Please don’t forget what most of us here believe about who assassinated President Kennedy, His brother Bobby Kennedy and Dr Martin Luther King, as well as thermite and other nuclear material residue found all over the Towers of New York City as well as all the steel was sent to China to be recycled including the barges that it was shipped in.
Would Trump ask Kari lake to be his VP? Sundance will know more about Lake than we do but if she is a RINO she certainly hides it well.
We need Kari here in AZ.
If she is a RINO we will find out on State Level.
SHE IS NO RINO.
Our enemy gave us an enormously powerful gift when it stole the election.
WE no longer have to ask the question, or bicker over the answer, as we now have a SHIBOLETH.
A term from the Bible, used by jewish guards to detirmine ‘friend or foe’ to detect enemy soldiers attempting to sneak into their camps at night.
“Say Shiboleth” they would call out. The enemy couldn’t pronounce it correctly, and so were dispatched with extreme prejudice. In the battle of the bulge, American soldiers similarly asked baseball questions to identify German troops attempting to infiltrate.
Point is, in such a life and death situation, with only seconds to make the detirmination, the question must be absolute.
You don’t want to kill one of your own, OR allow an enemy to pass into your camp.
The 2020 election as either “the most secure in history” (Rino answer) or as “THE STEAL” (MAGA answer, IS our shiboleth.
I didn’t NEED the MAL raid, or Sundance pointing out the GOPe manuevering, to KNOW, with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY, that Desantis was RINO.
AND, I have ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that Kari Lake is NOT a RINO plant, a GOPe ‘splitter candidate’ being groomed to decieve us.
All I need to do is look at Desantis, who has NEVER said the 2020 election was STOLEN from PDJT, and compare that to KL, who “simply won’t shut up about it!” to KNOW, with absolute certainty which is RINO, GOPe and which is MAGA to the bone.
WHAT a gift they have given us!
IMO it’s way too early to hope that Kari Lake will be anyone’s running mate.
We need to stop pumping up people who haven’t proven themselves yet, and we need to stop pumping up people who are showing signs of being GOPEs.
From now on, for me, it’s SHOW ME. Trump has shown me.
I have followed KL’s entry into Politics, from her final broadcast where she said she was leaving broadcast news, and why.
At that point she said she was unsure exactly what she would be doing, but that she couldn’t work in broadcast journalism any more.
I emailed her and told her she would have my vote, for any office she chose to run for, her statement was that powerful. Its on her website, I suggest you watch it.
I watched as students at ASU organised a protest against the vax mandates of ASU, and the University President announced plans to have them arrested.
And I watched as KL spoke at their protest, and told them “If elected Governor, I will immediately PARDON any arrested, for peacefully protesting the Covid mandates.
And, I have watched as a journalist asked her “Do you really think the election was stolen?”
And she said “If you think the election was the most secure in history, you should put down Hunters crack pipe!”
How she said “If doormat Ducey had even one ball, he would stop the human and drug trafficing on the border.”
How her Primary opponents turned down an invite, to a Debate, how she said “I’ll tell you what; YOU can see ALL the questions for the debate ahead of time, and I’ll just wing it!” and they STILL wouldn’t debate her, so she showed up, unopposed and still answered all the questions.
She beat her opponent, that spent $30 million, with $3 mil.
Now, katie hobbs, her Dem opponent is also refusing to debate her, so she’s upped her offer; Your STAFF can WRITE all the questions for the debate, and still she hides.
She says being referred to as “Trump in a dress” is the greatest compliment she has ever recieved.
She has formed a close knit team of 12 candidates for a variety of State offices, that are all committed to MAGA, and if they win in November, they will show America “how its done” and even if they aren’t they will be the future of the MAGA movement.
So yeah, being from Az., and having watched her from her entry into politics, I am pumping her up, because I am pumped up about her.
Why does there need to be a plan B? If “something” that would obviously be “something planned” happen to Trump then wouldnt that FINALLY be the reason (the pushed too far reason that everyone seems to be waiting for) for us to rid ourselves of these beyond corrupt people?
Write in Eric Trump
First off, if “something” was an option, it would have been excercised, with extreme prejudice by now.
More broadly, the concern you express goes to “the Future of the MAGA movement”; a KEY question with ANY movement as it builds, is is it SUSTAINABLE?
IF a all a movement is truly is a “cult of personality” it is inherently UNsustainable, as everyone dies, eventually.
To be sustainable, it must have a core uniting philosophy, ideology or common beliefs which both maintain cohesion and draw ‘new members’ so as to grow and replenish.
The MAGA mvmt HAS that, with the America First view if policies, which stands in stark contrast to the old “liberal vs conservative” or “left vs right” paradigm.
And, it must establish a system for producing a new generation of leaders, capable of replacing the ‘old’ in order to be sustainable generation after generation.
Like baseball, political parties have programs to find, develop, nurture and elevate a new crop of candidates; what we are seeing with DesAntis right now is this process.
After several years at the State level, he is being moved up to the “major leagues”.
PDJT isn’t “in it” for personal agrandisement, and is well aware if the need to make MAGA sustainable.
He IS constantly looking for “fresh talent” to nurture, as the future of the party. One part if his endorsement process IS to find, and nurture a new generation of such MAGA Candidates.
Frankly, Halley IMHO one must be willfully blind not to see who is at the top of the short list, as “the future if the MAGA movement.
MTG, Boerner, Gaetz as well as others already serving in Congress, those in many States that are leading the insurrection/revolt within State Republican parties, and the MAGA candidates such efforts are producing, such as,”Trump in a dress” KL are clear signs this MAGA movement has reached the point of “critical mass”; its a sustained and sustainable movement, that CAN survive beyond PDJT.
Game Theory. Spot on Dutch!
MTG is a good one, Boerner not sure who that is, but Gaetz I think you need to be careful of. He, like DeSantis enjoy the money and prestige. Kari I think will be a good one as she like Green speak out loud and clear.
Laura Boerner, the “pistol packing mama, that drove across several States to attend a Beto rally in Texas, and told Beto “Come and TAKE it!”
Now serving in the U.S. House and often works with /seen with MTG.
I have read some of her speeches, and she is GOOD.
Sorry if I have the spelling wrong on her name, I have struggled with that.
I feel the same way. DeSantis is there in case Trump has a mishap of some sort. Do I like that feeling of uncertainty? No!
DeSantis cannot be Plan B for MAGA if he is Plan A for RINO
If they already started the process then they already decided the outcome to the “Trump Issue”.
That doesn’t bode well.
They DO have an October surprise in terms of something happening to Trump’s well being.
Then:
1. Dems will lose the House
2. Dems will massage the numbers enough to “win” the Senate
(In 2023, GOP blamed for coming depression because they don’t print $ to “help”)
3. New GOP candidate swiping in coalescing all the anger, and disappearing Trump from public discourse as he is… locked up?
4. 2024 comes and DeSantis loses because he’ll “go away if he loses”.
5. Dem come in 2025 stronger than ever.
I could see that
“Don’t accept their narrative”
I’m not accepting your handlers’ narrative, Ron. You have now sealed the deal for me, I will NEVER vote for you in a GOP presidential primary. I hope you never win the nomination.
Amen.
He won’t. Because “The Party” don’t understand WE THE TRUMP VOTERS. We are voting for CHANGE … and not the soft, squishy, “talk about change” … but the sand in the gears kinda HALT to the DC insanity
Sand?
No, steel pipes in the gears.
Mangle the machine beyond repair!
Trump hasn’t even declared to run, I don’t expect everyone to sit down waiting on Trump in order to get on with their lives.
I always expected desantis to run after being one of the few elected politicians taking successful action against the woke horde and attracting national acclaim therefrom.
President Trump has not announced a run (nor has any other candidate) because as soon as he does, he is subject to campaign finance oversight; reporting to the FEC, filing regular financial reports detailing his fundraising and campaign spending. It will all come down after the November election.
Thank you, I made that same point about why President Trump has not announced yet some days ago. However what I am trying to say is that I don’t expect anyone else to be waiting for Trump, everyone has their own lives to live I would not expect anything less of anyone who is a leader. Leaders don’t live in other peoples shadows.
My expectation always was that DeSantis would run and then Trump would pick him as his vice president. Note that I said my expectation and not my desire.
I am not about to apply a higher standard of expectation to DeSantis than I apply to Trump.
I am voting for Trump if he runs like I did last time but there are a number of areas in which he disappointed me.
Actually, I erred: I wrote prior that the reason President Trump might not be announcing was that the GOP is now paying his legal expenses whereas when he announces they would cease to pay those expenses.
There have been a number of ‘op-ed’ pieces ostensibly publically urging PDJT to “!DECLARE NOW!” and then (again ostensibly) spelling out their reasons why they think he MUST do so, immediately.
And,,several comments here echoeing this sentiment and repeating the argument.
If you dampen your emotional responce, in order to retain ‘critical thinking’ its readily apperent the whole premise and arguments are without merit, and its a propoganda maipulation by our enemies.
PDJT is exploiting a gaping and legitimate hole in the election process.
On the one hand he retains the advantages of NOT having “officially” declared,..on the other he is OBVIOUSLY campaigning, and anyone saying “PDJT hasn’t even officially declared yet, and so, ..” is either naive, disengenuous or controlled op. Frankly, given how obvious PDJT has been, I simply see no other explanation.
With all respect due, ..
they would give up Florida electoral votes if they are both from Florida
no way will DeSantis be VP
and NO WAY after I know him now would I even HOPE he would be
By the way- I recall -DeSantis’ FL Lieutenant Gov. Jeanette Nuñez, made the usual- type Anti-Trump statements before DeSantis was elected to Governor – which she deleted from Social Media.
Look at all the statements of folks Trump appointed , endorsed or lauded who later stabbed us and Trump in the back, but I am still voting Trump.
Seems a lot of people voted for GOPe candidates who later *stabbed* We The People in the back… They talk/campaign a good game and then……. President Trump NEVER did that!!!
Maybe for his next ad he can do a twist on John Wayne’s Hondo and become Rondo! Text Rondo to BR459
Wasn’t DeSantis a Tea Party person? And then he was MAGA. And now he’s got his own brand. (smh) It looks like he appropriates anything that will advance him.
Trump was a democrat before he was a republican.
PDJT lived and did business in New York. Unlike DeSantis, he was not in government as either a congressman or governor.
you must love ping pong …
I was a “republican” before I became MAGA
So… it sounds like DeSantis is remarkably consistent about being on the right side of the issues?
“Oh no, he was a TEA Partier and a MAGA-er, that evil bastard!”
/rolleyes
Your discernment tank is empty. You need a refill.
TPP is not MAGA or Tea Party. TPP is treason
You aren’t even following the discussion we’re having. Try to keep up.
YOU aren’t following the discussion. You criticized me for something I didn’t say or even imply.
Your discernment tank is empty. You need a refill.
DeSantis was never Tea Party.
LOVE IT^ Hilarious
OK, I’m going to assume that you mean he was never really genuinely Tea Party and he used the Tea Party people like he is now using Trump and Trump supporters.
https://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2015/05/07/404805852/meet-the-tea-partys-new-favorite-candidate
Conservatives have found their candidate for one of 2016’s most important Senate races: Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis.
Soon after he launched his bid Wednesday, a trifecta of deep-pocketed Tea Party-aligned groups — the Senate Conservatives Fund, the Club for Growth and FreedomWorks — all signaled they would back the two-term congressman in his bid to succeed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., who’s running for president.
Cetera, I think you didn’t even bother to read my full comment. And it’s only 2 lines! Read the last sentence.
HEY, all you newbies!
PLEASE take 5, and read the “Guidelines for posting comments” (link on the home page).
While you are posting a comment in responce to person A, so is person B.
They hit “post comment” while your still writing your comment, in which you refer to person A as “you”.
When your comment posts, it appears YOU are responding to B, when you were addressing A.
In addition, when posting about Libs, or RINOS or any other group, avoid “they, them” as others reading are confused.
Its all explained in the guidelines, inclusing the frequent spacing you see me using here.
Long posts, without such spacing are too difficult to read on an I-phone, which is all many of us use, also pointed out in the guidelines.
Thank you
The timing is looking more and more suspicious. Mar-a-Lago raid occurs on the exact same day that Turning Point announces the Ron DeSantis rallies, and then suddenly there’s the hard-core promotion of DeSantis even by Dem propaganda media, and now this ad.
It’s like Tanya Harding’s boyfriend beating Nancy Kerrigan’s legs with a baseball bat.
Gillooly … PDJT’s been Gilloolied …
https://www.earnthenecklace.com/tonya-harding-ex-husband-jeff-gillooly-wiki-now-today/
Gillooly’s porn stash kinda reminds me of the GOPe operatives …
The timing is suspicious?
When will Governor DeSantis know who he will facing in November?
The Democrat primary is today if that helps answer my question.
When should he be rolling out his reelection campaign for Governor?
How does being the headliner for rallies in other states (NM, AZ, PA, OH) and meeting with big-$$ fundraisers in at least one of other state (MA) and running ads aimed at a national audience constitute campaigning for FL Governor? Who’s voting for him? People across the U.S. or people in Florida?
We’re not stupid.
Has any other candidate for Governor run ads on a national program?
Newsome. Remember? Geezelouise you guys have SHORT memories. Or is it gaslighting?
Are you sure it ran nationwide? I’m asking because the person directly below mentioned Hassan, but Hassan’s ad ran in New Hampshire.
I do see documentation of a Newsom ad that ran in Florida. “Newsom releases campaign ad in Florida ahead for California gubernatorial election” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djxcjmxCJOY)
Do you have any evidence that Newsom ran an ad nationwide?
When I was in Maine this summer, Maggie Hassan a Senator from New Hampshire, no less, had ads on FOX.
Is Maggie Hassan running against PDJT?
Just asking for a friend who supports Governor DeSantis for Governor and PDJT for President 🙂
It appears the Hassan ad ran in New Hampshire, not nationwide:
The Hassan campaign tells Fox News Digital their new commercial, which starts running statewide in New Hampshire on Monday, is backed by a “substantial” ad buy. (https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/senate-democrat-facing-tough-reelection-biden-tv-ad)
I’m really surprised that Asa Hutchinson hasn’t. What a Turd Ferguson he turned out to be.
At the end of the ad there is an acknowledgement required under Florida law.
In the ad in caps as follows:
PAID BY RON DESANTIS, REPUBLICAN, FOR GOVERNOR
Another inference on an inference that proves nothing.
Governor DeSantis for Governor in 2022!
PDJT for President in 2024!
You can’t reason people away from a position they arrived at without using reason.
Emotionals are going to emote, followers are going to follow, and boomers are going to boom.
So far, you have called the commenters on this site q-tards, unintelligent, along with other names, and now boomers.
All the while, directing us to a nice write up by the host of this site, which includes you being a person of faith.
Now you believe that the people on this site, that do not agree with you, have no reasoning skills. Does that include the gracious host of this site?
What is with the insults?
Also, You forgot deplorable, smelly Wal Mart shoppers.
One final question, can you explain DeSantis vote for TPP. You might know that answer, with all the info to which you are privy.
> All the while, directing us to a nice write up by the host of this site, which includes you being a person of faith.
Go look again. Those write-ups were by me. I linked them because I kept being accused of being a bot/shill/etc. by low-IQ, no-imagination boomers. They’re following the same leftist tactic of “Everyone I Don’t Agree with is a Russian Bot.”
>Now you believe that the people on this site, that do not agree with you, have no reasoning skills.
Not everyone. Just those with no reasoning skills, who literally can’t follow an argument or even simple sentence structure.
>Does that include the gracious host of this site?
Of course not. Sundance is fine. He’s simply incorrect in this instance about DeSantis. It is all the hangers-on yes-men followers eager to prove how “pure” of thought they are, and exorcise all those who aren’t as pure in their Trump-worship, that are the problem. There is NO thought behind the verbal diarrhea of “me too” they vomit forth as they engage in the right-ist version of a purity spiral so common on the left.
>What is with the insults?
Ah, well, that’s one of my failings. You’ll appreciate whence it came, though. My grandfather, a WW2 vet, used to tell me to always tell the blunt, honest truth, no matter what. Even when it hurt someone else’s feelings. ESPECIALLY when it hurt someone else’s feelings.
He would say, “If the truth hurts, it ought to.”
Sorry, Grandpa. I listened too well. Who knew the entire world was full of MPAI?
>can you explain DeSantis vote for TPP.
Sure. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, and people have blindspots. People get misled and taken advantage of. Just like President Trump was, repeatedly.
Sorry I was incorrect on who wrote the article…..I only skimmed the very beginning….the way you have treated the people on the site, left me with no desire to read in depth.
It is your opinion as to whether the people on this site are the names you call them. There is a difference between telling the truth and slinging insults. So blaming it on some random statement by your grandpa is not appreciated. But I suspect you know that.
I also remember reading a rule for the site, something to do with name calling, Insults, grammar correction etc.
I will leave this conversation with this…..you seem to think very highly of yourself and you have certainly not behaved as a Christian. And I came to that conclusion because MY grandfather preached in a church, a Pentecostal one at that. I am sure you will think of some good insults for that, or as you call it YOUR truths.
Don’t waste your time with this person, he’s on a mad hunt to insult as many people as possible.
I’ve reported him for his vicious attacks, sadly his comments remain.
He is the classic example of POT MEET KETTLE.
Yes, you are right. Very strange. Of course, it is a very strange and difficult time for us all, yes?
Some are having more difficult times than others…..be it financial, spiritual or health.
Be well KAF.
We all are having a tough go of it, I try and pray for even the enemy.
Likewise Bambamtakethat; sending you BLESSINGS!
KAF….this commenter is no longer in the Treehouse. Please refrain from giving him anymore of your time. Asking nicely…
I apologize for my ridiculous lapse in judgement.
I will do better, thank you Ad rem.
He’s already in “moderation”…..a hair away from banning.
Ahhhh. Sorry I responded to him.
Sundance’s first sentence: “Purchasing advertising in the national market.”
Emphasis on national market. Why is a guy running for Florida Governor targeting a nationwide audience? Did he even mention Florida in the ad? I’d watch it again but I can’t stomach it. 🙂
Yep. I see the same marionette lines as RINO Crenshaw’s ad capitalizing on his military service. Same way Disney animators will reuse old footage with a new character rather than redraw the whole cartoon. If Donald Trump isn’t on the ballot in 2024 I’m writing in his name.
Have any of you thought that is exactly what the commies WANT you to do?
Republicans and Democrats
Just different wings on the same bird. A Vulture.
Wearingsteel,…

The arm positions of Cruz and DeSantis in the photos brings to mind those bendable doll figures. Perhaps such a product will be generated by the club: DeSantis “Top Gov” fighter doll.
Bend him, shape him~any way you want him.
you folks are nuts. Desantis has done nothing but fight and win those fights. I remember back when Trump selected pence Sundance was fine with that. UNtil he does something to screw Americans over, I have no issues with Desantis and wish every state was governed like Florida.
Pro tip: No Republican EVER fought back against the Press until Trump. The idea that DeSantis is shooting down all the FAKE media bogeys … is just a Trump remake … like a Top Gun remake. It’s not a new idea. Trump invented it. Trump had the RIGHT STUFF to call out the Press as LIARS and speech-makers.
when DeSantis takes on Mitch McConnell … globalism … and outlines an anti-GOPe platform … I might give him consideration. But TBH … if he runs AGAINST Trump … he’s dead to me.
FF4L, don’t you find it odd that DeSantis embraced Trump in 2018, to win his first term as Florida Governor, and now won’t even say Trump’s name? And the announcement for his out-of-state rallies occurred on the same day as the Mar-a-Lago raid? And now he’s running an apparent nationwide ad … to be re-elected as Florida Governor? And the media is suddenly promoting him as the head of the new GOP party and writing glowing articles about him, even Dem media?
You need to be suspicious. It appears to me that DeSantis latches on to anything that he can use to promote himself upward. First the Tea Party, then Trump and the MAGA concept, and now his new handlers and donors.
Here he is in 2018 embracing Trump so that he can win his first term as Florida Governor. Without Trump’s endorsement he probably would have lost.
I honestly want to see Gov. DeSantis continue to “bloom where he is planted,” and not try for the White House.
Importantly, DeSantis is a champion of Federalism – of the 10th Amendment and all that it implies. He is boldly asserting the rights that every State in this Union actually possesses but has recently forgotten. I think that he has been extremely good for the People of Florida, and that he should continue to operate there. He has also been very good for the Country by reminding all of us why the 10th Amendment exists.
I wish that all Fifty States would run a “Don’t Tread On Me!” flag up their flagpole. A “United States” that championed the concept of “States” over “Washington, DC” would be vastly stronger and more resilient, albeit much more contentious. DeSantis has shown us the virtue of that, time and time and time again.
I do not live in Florida, but from what I see from Montana, Mr. DeSantis seems to be doing a good job for his state.
Having said that, I intend to vote for Mr. Trump in 2024, if he runs.
The simple fact that DeSantis has to rely on the club to get him elected settles this whole debate for me. We have seen countless people with good intentions enter into politics with no money and every one of them ends up being part of the establishment. I sometimes watch a Liberal on YouTube named Jimmy Dore. He is a raging old school liberal and he has a saying that I think holds a lot of weight.
”You don’t change Washington, Washington changes you.”
Personally, I didn’t find this ad cringy in the least. Now living in FL under Gov. DeSanti’s leadership, I have found him to be an effective leader for the state. He has an impressive resume, including his military service, and a bright political future. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think he will run in 2024 if PDJT declares. What could he possibly gain from such a move?
His long term personal goal.
John, maybe he could but maybe not. It would be a real gamble going up against PDJT.
We can agree on that for sure, but remember in order to believe you are capable of leading the free world, you have to have ego the size of the moon and be at least some degree of narcissistic so it’s not a stretch to believe DeSantis would ignore the odds if a group of club people are pumping up his ego to go for it.
No gamble at all. He would lose, bigly.
But, when the Big Club owns you, you do as you are told.
DeSantis would lose. This just doesn’t seem like a gamble he would make. He can stay governor of FL for another term and then run for president. Big Club or not, and I may be naive, but I don’t see him primarying PDJT.
He will run until Trump voters start crushing him in State after State … then he’ll withdraw … “to spend more time with his family”
Dividing us further?
He was JAG.
A lawyer in uniform.
Pilots are sexy.
Lawyers-not so much.
A lot of what he has done-
Other States have/had already done.
He is a great Governor for Florida. He will be even better his next term.
My favorite was him unveiling a license plate several other states have had for years. Such a phony.
Look, the real issue is the persecution complex. If there is one shared experience that unites the Trump coalition, it is that everyone in the world is against them and hates them and is out to destroy them.
This is largely true.
However, in the rare cases where it is NOT true, it must be made true. They literally don’t have any idea how to make friends, how to form alliances, how to negotiate, how to nimbly navigate through enemy waters and converge targeted force upon enemy weak points.
They have learned NOTHING from Trump, other than to flail about at everyone and everything. They never understood what Trump WAS actually doing (good and bad, victories and defeats). Hence the 57D chess and TWO MORE WEEKS and TRUST THE PLAN!
They couldn’t face the possibility that their false savior might not be perfect or might not actually save them from the mire we find ourselves in, so it became heresy to even have the appearance of the possibility of conflict with St. Trump—and this is coming from one who still affectionally refers to him as the God-Emperor of the United States.
They attack anyone who threatens not Trump, but their internal emotional security. To face the possibility that they have put all their hopes and dreams of saving their nation, their people, and their progeny on a fallible-yet-well-meaning individual is too painful for them to face.
So attack anyone who doesn’t rabidly call for his Ascension to the Throne it is.
Nope, we can just see people taking money from the GOPe and who voted for TPP but claim to fight for Americans. Please
A short, decisive demise of his political career.
Just like Liz got, and just as totally forseeable.
including his military service
Maybe it’s disrespectful to say this, but I don’t consider JAGs in the same category as people who are soldiers/sailors/pilots/ etc.
Trial balloon my ass. Running DeSantis is JUST LIKE everything thing else anti-Trump … it’s all out WAR to STOP Trump. Which comes just as virulently from the RIGHT as the LEFT.
Correct.
That was dumb!
This appealing to peoples patriotism through military imagery is pathetic. Our military is run by communist traitors. Our military was handed over to the globalist warlords along time ago. This was defiantly stupid.
This war we are in, is in the hands of the people and we must fight it, like they fight against us?
These passages in the bible always picked my interest. 1 kings 22: 19/20/21/22, this shows how God governs the affairs of men.
19, And he said, hear thou therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20, And the Lord said, who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall on Ramoth-Gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on this manner.
21, And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him.
22, And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will ”’be a lying spirit”’ in the mouth of all the prophets. And he said thou shall persuade him, and prevail also, go forth, and do so.
It is a glimpse at how God governs. Ahab must die. How will that be done. Who has the answer and one said, I will be a lying spirit. What idea did God except and the end result, Ahab died. This is fascinating, how God was directing the politics of those days and is doing it in our day!
FOX viewers eat this stuff up like pudding.
I’ve got a bad feeling that the GOP is going to make this all about De Santis vs Trump but that particular ad says Ron De Santis for governor at the bottom so is this really a part of that? I’m not sure.
Could be a feint, could be a state or party regulation?
C’mon man!
KL is running for Governor of Az. in November.
You will not see “KL for Governor ads in 49 other States, because to spend $ in other ad markets, makes NO sense!
Can you REALLY be that dense?
A shrewd DeSantis would position himself for
VP. Right now, the VP favorite seems to be Pompeo. Military background solid political career and well respected tactics and outcomes. DeSantis brings some of the same, and in the aftermath of a second Trump presidency both would have strong arguments in favor.
The Lord’s of cash/Masters of the Universe are already buying up assets from failed farms secondary to their COVID fraud. Their big power grab will begin in monarchic countries as they use government troops to suppress dissension and the threat of high-tech weapons to subdue the population. Look at Canada, Holland… Biden talking smack about fighter jets and nukes… They will detonate war, famine and disease in a global scale and, a states fail, they will replace them with their new order… The decimated populations will be amenable.
The US is the bulwark against their plans. We have land and water to grow food independent of the rest of the planet. We have troops and weaponry to squelch their designs. Thus, the need to have a craven liar, cheat and bully like Biden to, at the very least, neutralize us while they enact their two pronged plan for neofeudalism… Distress all economies so assets can be had at firesale prices, while their paid stogies deliver the countries they have bankrupted to them to be reformatted as fascist feudal states.
Don’t be surprised if indentured servitude enters the conversation at some stage.
We all know what the remedy is. Vote Trump and only Trump.
A shrewd Governor DeSantis would be gearing up his reelection campaign, most likely against “The Three Faces of Charlie Crist.”
A shrewd Governor DeSantis would run a strong campaign that decisively beats the Anti-Crist which in turn makes him politically stronger for the future.
A shrewd Governor DeSantis would support the candidacy of PDJT.
A shrewd Governor DeSantis would not run against PDJT.
The best Governor in America is shrewd because he has learned from the best, VSGPDJT.
Pompeo? He stands in a long line of rejects; Pence, Halley, CRUZ, and has -0- chance of being PDJT ‘s choice for VP, IMHO.
PDJT IS human, he makes mistakes, aknowledges them, and DOESN’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE.
Pompeo as VP would be as bad as Pence. As would Desantis.
And, unlike in 2016, where he had no pool of MAGA,to choose from, and no clear MAGA test, and no clear consistent track record to rely on, to know the RNC were his enemy, he “won’t be fooled agaaaaaiiin!”
And neither will we.
If we are going to destroy the club, the uni-party, and the deep state, don’t we have to infiltrate and cause chaos from within? If Desantis runs, isn’t that the next best thing to Trump we have right now? Wouldn’t Trump be more effective tying up the lawyers to keep them occupied while Big Ron does an end run? You think Trumps money can be better utilized as a private citizen rather than be under the scrutiny of election rules?
The left will run a younger more vibrant candidate in 2024 and hypocritically will again call out Trump as old and senile. I see Trump as a mover and shaker behind some of this so don’t get your panties in a bunch if Trump decides at the last minute he is not running. Any doubts who Trump will endorse if he bows out?
Sneaky cats rule!
“The left will run a younger more vibrant candidate in 2024.”
They don’t have any!😂
Plan B…Just add Jr. behind Donald Trump’s name.
Not a bad plan at all.
The key flaw in the GOPe plan to try the “splitter strategy” is readily apperent if you unemotionally compare the 2016 Republican debates, with the 2020 democrat debates.
In 2016 Rep debates, the splitter strategy FAILED to deprive PDJT if the nomination, in 2020 it succeeded in depriving Sanders, WHY?
IGNORE this issues, and look “from 30,000 foot level.
PDJT clearly articulated in his escaltor speech a series of stands on policy; confonting China, ending NAFTA, etc. but his defining issue was IMMIGRATION.
NONE of the “15 dwarves” (B. Carson exception) was willing to co-opt him on ANY of these policy positions, and THAT, ultimately is why it failed.
In comparison, the 2020 Dem debates looked like grade school, as virtually ALL of the Sanders splitter candidates raised their hand to indicate support for Sanders policies.
It WAS NOT that they emulated Sanders “style” as the grumpy old man yelling “get off my lawn” and the one most adept at imitating that style, was busy trying to portray himself as the kindly, reasonable centerist.
POLitics is about POLicy; if DJT had supported the policy of amnesty for all illegals, because “Demographics is destiny” position advanced in the 2012 “autopsy report” and the appeasement with China, etc. he would have been acceptable to “the Big Club” and they would have lauded his “demeanor” and “personality”.
Its NOT ABOUT “Mean Tweets” its about POLicy.
In my opinion, Trump is not going to run… but he will always be the MAGA Kingmaker because of the value of his endorsements and his incredible fundraising ability. MAGA principles exist because of him and we will all need the “next best thing” to move them along as much as possible.
Bth,..thanks for sharing,…aren’t you prescious!
In 2008; I was ten feet away from McStain when he was getting off his tour bus. Maybe he had just woken-up from a nap? But; he looked like Biden handing the pen to Manchin. Dazed and confused. He didn’t have “it”!
In 2016; I went to a Cruz rally of maybe 100 people. Ted was so sleazy; I felt like showering after the encounter. He’s no Jack Kennedy!
Sure, it’s cringy and reeks of a sales pitch, but don’t see this ad as anything more than a clumsy attempt by the DeSantis PR team to ride the the Top Gun: Maverick popularity wave. The fact that the ad is national suggests it’s intended in part as a punch back at Gavin Newsom for his recent swipes at Florida.
It’s not clear yet if DeSantis is being packaged and presented as a Trump alternative in 2024 or a successor in 2028. He’s still walking a fine line. We’ll know soon enough.
I avoid watching political ads – they are usually godawful.
However, I think this one works. Kinda surprised it sits well with me.
Love the comical stiff photos of Cruz and DeSantis at the tail end of the article. Both look a little overstuffed, but so do middleaged me.
Every time I see DeSantis’s face now, all I can think of is Trump’s one-liner about Carly Fiorina: “Look at that face!”
He’s not easy on the eyes but he has a pretty wife to trot out
All you keyboard warriors braying and thumping your chest wanting something done about the rabid liberals in government;
Unless you follow the example of the founding fathers, America is over with as of the stolen election of 2020.
The rabid liberals are and have been winning and will stop at nothing to advance the communist revolution.
They need you in Michigan again. Glowies needed to frame more Americans….only glowies talk this way.
Making confident assertions, that are designed to trigger a strong emotional responce, offering NO arguments to support their assertion, is “Manipulation 101”.
The “liberals”, actually Conmunists, are in key control positions in BOTH Political parties, and being in control of the Republican party has been vitally important in furthering the Conmunist agenda.
Destroying THAT, is key.
With it, ALL of our policy prescriptions are possible.
Fail to do that, none are.
And, you are absolutely right in that our Founders vision requires an informed, active electorate, heavily focused on local and State politics, in order to elect State representation that will, in representing We, the People, assert aggresive Federalism in order to resist the inherent tendency of Federal Govt overreach.
And that means becoming ACTIVE in “politics” at the LOCAL and State level.
I suspect the GOPe is pumping DeSantis up so as to sacrifice him to President Trump in a ‘two birds, one stone’ strategy for the 2024 primary.
They are working diligently to expose people outside of Florida to DeSantis’ recently created persona so they can see just how likeable and even-tempered he is (and he is). They are counting on President Trump to target and destroy him during the campaign and the debates, after which DeSantis will disappear, politically, forever. Step one – check. By knocking DeSantis out of the race, they believe President Trump will alienate a YUGE number of his ‘once loyal’ supporters because he clubbed DeSantis like a seal pup. They are hoping that the eradication of DeSantis will decapitate President Trump, politically, as well. Step two – check.
They underestimate the breadth and depth of our support for President Trump and, more importantly, our understanding of how he operates to achieve results. People often try to hedge their bets by ‘conceding’ that President Trump is off-putting. I could not disagree more. There is nothing ‘mean’ or offensive about anything he says or does. Those who feel the need to cleanse themselves with the obligatory ‘recognition’ of President Trump’s caustic nature even as they praise his actions have never played on a sports team or spent any time in a locker room. Get over it.
Donald Trump is a great man with uncanny instincts. He is an astute student of human behavior, an economic/foreign policy wizard, and a very funny SOB. His tactics are simply an ‘inside baseball’ glimpse into what push-looks like, and it looks great to me. Those who think they can take him out by teeing DeSantis up for a sound thrashing had best think again.
And, yes, Trump won. Carry on, America.
My sentiments exactly. 👍 👏
I would also whole heartedly agree, and would say to THEM, regarding point one;
“Yeah, cause it worked SO well with Ted Cruz, lol!”
The GOPe are like a football team, that has made it into the playoffs, BECAUSE theyvhad a playbook of 6-10 plays, that worked SO well, to confound their opponents.
But, in the playoffs they encounter an opponent that has analysed each of those plays, and developed an effective counter.
And they keep running these same plays, over and over and getting crushed.
Virtually ALL of these plays rely on deception; the opponent falling for the deception IS WHAT made these plays SO effective.
Without the opponent being decieved, the plays become childishly easy to “see thru”; the opponent knows EXACTLY where their quarterback is going to throw the ball.
After 60+ years if running these same 6-10 plays and successfully racking up championships, they simply don’t have the mental muscles to develop any new plays.
They are LOSING, they will continue losing, the outcome of the contest is assured, and there is not an ,…a THING they can DO about it.
You are dead nuts on the money. If Albert Einstein was right (and he was) a naked man running in a tight circle around a tree at a sufficient velocity could literally screw himself in the backside. That isn’t quite how Einstein phrased it, but you get the point. The GOPe is doing just that but it is the only route the know how to run – a nice, tight circle. And, yes, Trump won. Carry on.
Probably the RINORATS intended “mission accomplished”.
DeSantis is a fool. His fate is the fate of Mike Pence and Ted Cruz. Hero to zero.
Have you noticed his body is getting larger and larger and his round face smaller and smaller. His ad very cringey and if unfortunately his voice is not manly. Ron stop it before it is too late, stick with Governor. No one outside of our world is watching this , they are clapping for DeSantis. Trump doesnt say a thing. He knew Ron was never going to be his choice
He’s got an unpleasant nasal quality to his voice, but I’m not sure the voice matters look how far Hillary got.
Not to mention General George S. Patton, who had a squeaky little voice. But the man DeSantis is behind his voice is nowhere near the man that Patton was behind his. And, yes, Trump won. Carry on.
Ted Cruz 2.0. The formula? Do a few tough things, say a few tough things, and suddenly you’re a candidate for President. Sadly, when you try to warn other conservative voters about DeSantis, they freak out on you. How do we best warn people?
The debates ! Trump will win
I do not see Desantis on a debate stage in 2024, myself.
Remind them of how a con man operates.
A con man gains a person’s confidence by doing something good.
So . . . just because a politician does something good doesn’t mean he’s on our side.
Remember Pence? Remember Nikki Haley? Remember Kinzinger? Remember the one-eyed Dan Crenshaw, ex-Seal — he HAD to be good with all that military background right? Heck — remember Liz Cheney when she said she supported President Trump’s policies!
How can people forget all the betrayal? All the lies?
How can people forget how they loved Pence?
The best way to know what a politician will do when faced with the BIG questions . . . is to look at who is funding them.
So, we look at DeSantis, and see that he is funded by the globalist Club for Growth and by the globalist Koch brothers billionaires.
And we see that when DeSantis was in Congress, he voted for the globalist’s TPP trade agreement, an agreement even worse than Nafta for the middle class.
So . . . ask people how they reconcile the good things he has done in Florida with the goals of the big money globalists who fund him.
Ask people . . . do they really expect DeSantis to double cross the people who are funding him?
Is he doing good things in Florida because this will gain YOUR CONFIDENCE (just like a con man gains your confidence first before the back stab)?
Will he really choose the people over the billionaire Koch brothers?
He didn’t when he voted for TPP.
People get fooled again and again, and they seem not to remember the many politicians who betrayed them.
President Trump told us what he wanted to do, and then did it — and people were SURPRISED. That hasn’t happened before, has it?
President Trump is different because he has his own money. That gives him freedom of action.
At this point, I’m only supporting candidates who have their own money or who are bought by President Trump’s Save America PAC.
Pascale20,
Respectfully, you have stepped into my “wheelhouse” as in my youth I stepped to the dark side, plumbed my capacity for evil and learned that like all humans it is bottomless, Jesus literally saved me from earthly death and eternal damnation, and point being, I have first hand knowledge of “con artists”, HOW it works, and the broader use of the SAME method of manipulation used by all who manipulate,,whether in marketing or politics.
FIRST, and this is THE KEY, is to trigger in the mark (punter, victim) a STRONG emotional responce, even AS you introduce the “Con”.
Doesn’t matter WHAT the emotion is, its the strength of it thats key; sympathy, greed, resentment, fear even humor CAN have the desired effect, if STRONG enough.
This causes the parts if the brain that NORMALLY evaluate EVERY thought, sensory input, etc that “comes into our brain” and ONLY ‘SPEAK UP” when some flaw or inconsistency is noticed, to remain silent, to “go mute”.
So, trigger strong emotional responce AND insert nonsensical assertion, and since we “hear” no criticism from our critical thinking, we accept the assertion.
A brief example from these pages;
“This MAL raid is why we MUST get Republicans in control of Congress!”
The MAL raid triggers the emotion, and if successful the mark says “YEAH, I must donate to WinRed, volonteer for GOP GOTV, and VOTE for all Republican candidates.
However, if you consciously dampen your emotional outrage at the mental image of FBI perves rummaging thru Melanias underwear (a mental image evoked by the words “MAL raid”, the illogic is obvious.
Does ANYONE really believe this raid wouldn’t have taken place if Rs had been in symbolic majority in Congress?
Without critical thinking being muted by emotional trigger, the idea is ludicrous on its face.
And now you know how seemingly intelligent people “fall for” such obvious (to YOU) Cons as the Nigerian Bank Teller email scam, or other ‘professional’ Cons.
You CAN insulate yourself; identify your pre-existing “emotional buttons”; anything that triggers a strong emotional responce, and mentally put a bandage cover it, so the slightest pressure DOESN’T evoke a stong responce.
Then, your critical thinking can work like its supposed to, and you won’t get conned.
That ad is pure cringe.
That is one cringy ad. Ron, Ron…. Toy boy on a leash.
And yet still, no one has explained why DeSantis voted for TPP……funny that.
Because DeSantis is funded by the globalist Club for Growth and the billionaire globalist Koch brothers.
It’s obvious what he is.
A bought career politician who will do and say good things — and then oppose President Trump in the primary.
What a pathetic video!!! He just stepped away from a fight when he ran to his basement after the raid. What a totasl loser and weasel!
Nope cant vote for this guy. Which is why they want him, really. So the dems could win. People want hope so they watch for November. I’d say the fight is long from being over. We lost so much ground and the evil has grown a lot. I just hope the PDJT had more than one copy of their “stuff”.
Sundance was again on the spot. Thank you for your work.
I don’t believe this. This is an add which I watched as a credit to Ron DeSantis. It had nothing to do with running for President.
But the DeSantis campaign paid top dollar to have the ad distributed to the national market, instead of limited only to Floridians.
Why would the DeSantis campaign do that?
To reach as many likely Florida voters as possible. IMO
Thank you Katy jay for your post.
I thought I was alone in thinking what you posted:)
Governor DeSantis for Governor in 2022!
PDJT for President in 2024!
Yeah, and McConnell loves you too.
We Floridians need a governor who will assiduously protect the people of Florida and safeguard our liberty.
We don’t need a politician who is overwhelmed with running for POTUS for the next 2 years and ignoring Florida.
I am not signing up for that.
I want a REAL governor not a pretend one.
DeSantis CANNOT have it both ways, Those days are over.
Stop pretending. When DeSantis tells you who his is, believe him.
DeSantis has hired toxic national GOP elite political consultants, who get paid millions of bucks whether they win or lose, equipped with establishment trolls who are all over social media.
Nancy Pelosi placed DC Capitol Hill Police in Tampa, Florida.
Where’s DeSantis ?
DeSantis prostituted his soul for a dollar bill and showed he has no moral compass at the same time.
If DeSantis has to bow out of his governorship in order to run the GOPe will have snagged a twofer… gotten him out of FL and allowed him to lose in 2024. He is really delusional if he thinks they will let him win
An ad, corny as it may be, playing off the theme of a very popular Top Gun movie that has grossed over 1 billion dollars in sales, will stand out next to run of the mill political ads.
And considering there are 70 T.V. stations in Florida, why not show the ad to audiences that will attract “eyeballs.”
Also, many Floridians, I speak from experience, get away from the heat of the summer that extends often through September and later.
It is wise to reach voting Floridians nationwide who will be out of State for a period of time before the General election.
I commend the DeSantis campaign for Governor in making that ad and broadcasting it to an extensive number of voters from Florida.
Ok that’s a good one but your 2nd paragraph is a give away – why not? Certainly the poor yokels that have to stay in the heat in Florida over the summer would enjoy seeing the jet planes and all -just rhetorically asking . Thanks for the explanation in 1st paragraph, and the plug for Movie’s gross , …. But it was still so embarrassingly phony – needed a Disclaimer on bottom : “This person is not a real pilot and only portrays one for dramatic effect in this commercial and was not flying a real supersonic jet plane “
Sorry, not ready to trash DeSantis yet.
When Rubio, Cheney, Romney, Graham and/or McConnell start talking him up – which so far they haven’t done – then yes, game on.
Until then it’s just a cringy ad.
did my comments from this am get deleted?
most likely on a different page of comments, the article has been quite popular
What has that stinker Karl Rove been up to lately?
I think you might have just answered your own question.
Excerpt from Florida Politics dated today 8-23-22
DeSantis, appearing Tuesday on Fox and Friends, was coy when asked by Brian Kilmeade if he had talked to Trump lately about the raid or anything.
“Well, Brian, to the extent I do have conversations with him, I’m sure the Department of Justice and the FBI would leak that to the New York Times, so stay tuned on that,” DeSantis said cryptically.
Before his refusal to answer a question about talking to Trump, DeSantis offered a strong defense of him. He said the FBI’s actions toward the former President were the latest example of “federal agencies in the past five, ten years” that “have been weaponized against people the government doesn’t like.”
“So the FBI has a history now of weaponizing its power to go after people that it doesn’t like. And not only have they done that in a variety of contexts, they’ve gone after Donald Trump as a candidate specifically with Russian collusion. Even when he became President, and they were basically trying to drive him out of office based on a conspiracy theory,” DeSantis asserted.
“You’ve seen FBI agents falsifying FISA applications to get surveillance on innocent Americans,” DeSantis continued. “We’re seeing what’s happening with this Michigan kidnapping hoax, it’s a total disaster for the bureau. You look at what’s happened with having FBI agents surveil parents going to school board meetings, who would have ever thought that?”
DeSantis has offered rhetorical support for Trump, including during campaigning out of state for Trump-endorsed Republican candidates, lambasting FBI actions against people “opposed to the regime.”
“I think that when Republicans look at that and are upset about that, it’s against the backdrop of all that conduct, where basically these agencies have become the enforcement arm of one particular faction of our country against everybody else,” he added. “So that’s why I think that people are concerned about it.”
Sounds just like Traitor Pence and the useless Turtle McConnell. s/c
Governor DeSantis for Governor in 2022!
PDJT for President in 2024!
DeSantis stated mos. ago that he would NOT run against Trump. What’s the deal here? Is Desantis a man of his word or not? Personally, I think only Trump can clean up this mess. Once he does, then he can pass the Torch to Desantis for the next 8 yrs. ‘IF’ something happened that would prevent Trump from running, I’d probably support DeSantis. However, so many things changing so quickly…who knows what we’ll be dealing with in over 2 yrs. from now. For now, Pres. Trump is the only one who knows where all the skeletons are buried and the only one with such great motivation to clean up the debris.
The ONLY politician that is — a man of his word — is Donald J. Trump.
There may be the occasional, exception, but DeSantis is out of the closet. He outed himself.
He’s a man on a mission. He’s waiting, like a vulpine vulture to move in, thinking Trump won’t be the candidate.
Sorry Ron, your disloyalty will bite you in the ass.
Donald J Trump has the hearts and minds of America First supporters, and new supporters.
You’d never get from DeSantis, what you get with Trump, but then again, that’s what the club is after. They want someone who needs to be bought in order to become president. Someone who can be managed. Someone who can be reminded that he was paid for, whenever he shied away from Globalism. And most importantly, the club needs someone who would not dare rally against fellow club members in order to supplant them with unapproved candidates.
Well, DeSantis handled the covid mess a whole lot better than my Governor here in Ohio, but that’s not saying much.
However, I just think it’s a dumb ad the way it plays off the Top Gun sequel or whatever that movie is all about. Kinda cheesy actually. It certainly wouldn’t get me excited about voting for him even if there was never any President Trump in the picture.
