Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?
The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.
On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.
DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.
The silence of DeSantis is deafening.
DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.
Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.
Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.
DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.
There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.
Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.
I accepted his capitulation the next morning when there was nothing… I keep looking for news on/from Sabatini re emergency legislative session, but … crickets. I had my eyes opened years ago, when Waco went up in flames. I still find it within myself to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and give them a chance to show me who they really are. The last few years, I have encountered a long string of disappointments from more than half the people I have engaged with in good faith, only to be betrayed.

At this point, there isn’t one. But if one were to emerge, Kari Lake would be the frontrunner. She sees what’s going on for what it is, not a point to raise one’s status or notoriety. DeSantis is getting poor advice and/or maybe thinking too much about his future endeavors. Just ask the former Lt. Governor of Wisconsin. She got poor advice from the wrong people and made bad decisions and her career is likely done now.
But Donald Trump will be on the ballot in 2024, whether they lock him up or not, whether Ron likes it or not. The establishment will not, and frankly, I don’t give a damn.

All I’ll say is this in response… to save this country, the last thing it needs is another politician.
I’ve always been a fan of DeSantis, but this illegal and thoroughly autocratic dictatorship has revealed a lot of people who cannot be fully trusted by the American People. DeSantis appears to be one of them.
A few days ago, I probably would have gone into the 2024 primary leaning towards DeSantis. Why? He has experience with governance and reforming election laws and taking on corporate satan worshippers like those at Disney. The most effective killers know the most effective and fast ways to kill because they know how the system works. My thought has always been in Trump doesn’t run, I’d vote DeSantis. If Trump does run, my preference would have been a Trump/DeSantis ticket.
But this raid is a slam dunk criminal act by the FBI. They are now officially the Enforcers for the Democrat Party. They are now openly targeting enemies of the regime. Reports yesterday were that White House officials “cheered” and were joyful about the FBI raid. This is just complete totalitarianism. There is no gray area here.
DeSantis should come out publicly – or rather should have – and the first words out of his mouth should have been “it’s time to disband the FBI”.

Agreed. And I would include DeSantis along with the rest of us as people not trusting the dictatorship. He needs to be careful with what he says. Not providing the regime with ammunition that could be used against him later on is good practice as far as I’m concerned. There’s long been talk about a possible Trump/DeSantis ticket, so I would expect the establishment will do everything they can to try and drive a wedge between Trump and anyone he might find suitable as a running mate.
DeSantis could easily come out publicly and say “It’s time to disband the FBI. We cannot have a ‘secret police’ in this country that acts purely on the wishes of the Democrat Party. There should not be a ticket with two men from the same state. That rules out a trump/descant is ticket. Agree he needs to first win his reelection—and stay in Florida to have a very strong red state—we need as many as we can get.
And why do we, the public, jump to the conclusion that a strong leader (or at least a good gov in a red state) needs to be president? Personally, I would love 50 strong red states (and 60 truly conservative senators) more than a conservative president.

I don’t know that they necessarily want a guy on the GOP side willing to go toe to toe with the child predators at Disney, or the guy who partly-destroyed the voter fraud system in Florida, or the guy who (eventually) called “B.S.” on the covid fraud. That’s not a guy I would think I could control. Maybe on foreign policy, get him in over his head in a few wars like they did to Bushy. I think he can recover, but nobody will completely trust his instincts at this point. At the end of the day, there ARE a lot of Americans who think our government is legitimate and that law enforcement is legitimate. That list of Americans dropped by several million people this week and will drop even further as the goals of the FBI raid play out (what they were there to DO).
But to recover he’s going to have to make a statement so strong and morally clear that there can be no wiggle room later. For example, you can’t call for the FBI to be disbanded and Wray to be fired then arrested for corruption, then *not* do it or back off of it later.

Uhhhh, there has been silence after each thing he has done. He got no blowback. That is Sundance’s point. Silence speaks volumes. They let him do whatever with no complaint.
They called him a murderer for keeping the beaches open in Florida. And Disney went after local politicians who supported DeSantis’ efforts. (And there really was no defending Disney on that one…they straight up want to groom children to be gays…that’s a tough sell even for Democrats.). Democrats also freaked out when he started firing local county election supervisors for corruption.
I wouldn’t say he’s received no blowback.
If DeSantis was informed before the raid, the only way he can redeem himself is if we find out from Trump later that Ron was giving him inside info all along. Otherwise, he’s weak and useless.
It remains to be seen if the FBI warned DeSantis that they had “the goods on Trump” and whether he was weak minded and scared enough to believe them (especially after Russiagate and the multittude of lies they have been spewing for years).
There’s a lot of chatter online about McConnell going around and offering DeSantis the golden ring to run with GOP money, which is why both are silent. He would be a fool to do it. DeSantis is more corporate friendly than Trump and not hell bent on going after Deep State. We need people with real courage, not a Kristi Noem 2.0.

I disagree. This is not a matter of character. This is a matter of evolution. This is a guy who was a back bench congressman just a few years ago. Sometimes it’s best not to fight if they’re not calling your name. Trump’s a big boy. Let him handle his business. DeSantis has his back. I don’t think DeSantis is running in 2024. Maybe he’s the mop up guy 6 years from now. And by then he’ll be ready. In the meantime he’s been a steady hand and a fearless fighter for the citizens of Florida, myself included.

As I mentioned the other day, this is not the first time DeSantis has distanced himself from PDJT (and by extension MAGA) when Trump was under ferocious Deep State attack. He cowered away the last time in front of Lou Dobbs several years ago while still a US Representative. And it was a huge tell. And Dobbs nearly threw him off the segment for it.
DeSantis is at best to Trump and America First a fair weather ally. DeSantis will align and fight on the discrete conservative red meat issues such as CRT, protection against school grooming, right to life, etc. These are mainstream retail conservative issues. The same ones that posers such as Levin and Hannity get fat on every day.
But DeSantis never has and never will engage on the most fundamental political tensions, those that transcend party and ideology, particularly if they involve another political figure and/or extreme personal risk. That is, the fundamentally corrupted power structure in this country, that now threatens fundamental Constitutional liberties and the very fabric of the nation itself, and PDJT’s battle against it on behalf of the People.
This is a war over the system itself that transcends retail and party politics. It is a battle over raw power itself — who will run this country — not discrete issues. These are the highest stakes battles of all. Jack Kennedy lost his life over it. Donald Trump is now resuming that battle after 60 years. And the stakes now are even higher still. Because we are approaching the climax of a centuries old struggle, and the adversaries of Humanity have become increasingly desperate.
As I also mentioned yesterday, DeSantis is, and has always been, a retail politician. And a very good one. But still a politician. And not one completely independent of the traps and limitations that befall most retail politicians. He is beholden to the traditional power structure for his financing and support. Some people here didn’t like that characterization. But as Sundance also points out, it is the truth. And the truth sometimes hurts. If it makes those offended feel any better, Ronald Reagan was also a retail politician, and also a very effective President for the most part.
And in fact, DeSantis, just like Cruz and Kari Lake, needed PDJT to win. DeSantis was unable to win Florida all by himself. And that is a testament to Trump’s superior position, not DeSantis’s. DeSantis won with Trump’s help by a very slim margin, or Florida would be a train wreck today.
DeSantis is an excellent politician and governor. He will reshape and dramatically improve Florida when he is finished. But he is not a visionary leader of global gravitas, taking on these more fundamental issues, such as Donald Trump.
And right now, America, and the world, needs a visionary leader in a global fight for Humanity against a Satanic New World Order that threatens to enslave us all in a new dark age. One of their biggest weapons is the US Deep State. And that is the main event at the moment. It is Jack Kennedy vs. the powers-that-be again. It is bigger than even America now.
It is too big a job for any retail politician. Not even Reagan in his prime could fight this battle. It requires an independent visionary warrior who is willing to risk all. Kennedy was also politically independent like Trump when he engaged this battle, and many parallels of policy and philosophy between the two exist. Hopefully, Trump has learned from Kennedy’s fatal error. I think he has.
Perhaps after Trump has helped win the bigger war, DeSantis may prove an effective President for the aftermath.
But not now.

DeSantis doesn’t have the right position on economics to win the WH – he’s chamber of commerce, “free” trade just as much as Haley or Noem etc. The rust belt and the Southern working class won’t come out and vote for that.
The story of Trump’s first win was the story of the rust belt finally getting a GOP candidate that didn’t hate them and the poor and working class whites in the South having a reason to vote for the first time. Trump brought out numbers in Appalachia from VA/WV through AL and crackers from Florida’s northern counties that had never been seen and the experts didn’t know were there. Those people aren’t voting for a Koch Republican.
Donald Trump won the entire Rust Belt, including critical Michigan, and the Presidency, the precise moment he promised to repeal NAFTA.
I knew that before the echo of that statement had died down.

DeSantis will have a much tougher time with minorities than Trump. DeSantis likely picks up a few percentage points in white Suburban women over Trump. I imagine that is why the RINO Senate prefers DeSantis – his coattails will likely help marginal suburban districts go Red.

If DeSantis was really trying to come against the Deep State with his policies, the Democrats would have been doing everything they could to do him for coming against Covid mandates, coming against lgbt… grooming in schools, coming against mask mandates, coming against critical race theory, etc… But you notice that you could have heard a pin drop with every MAGA policy he thrust forward over the last two and a half years. Not one Democrat rose up against him.

the warrant does not include searching clothing. However, it’s common that courts will allow ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE when searching in “common areas” where items are in plain sight. Courts generally (not always) allow police to enter additional evidence outside the scope of the warrant in this particular situation. (example: drug raid, and police look through everything not locked up…”it was in plain sight”.

What they COULD DO however, is find “additional evidence” using the warrant to get access and then pour through everything that is “in plain view”. So this takes us to – “why the clothing”?

DeSantis has still not condemned the stealing of the 2022 election, or even suggested that there may have been some malfeasance, even after 2000 Mules came out and many independent analysts have proven massive amounts of vote fraud.
That being said, it doesn’t mean that DeSantis has no redeeming qualities. Heck, it is even possible that he is learning more about the swamp, just as many of us are and have been over the last few years.
If I met the man I was 10 years ago, I would judge him as largely clueless, at least in terms of political knowledge, given what I now know. I suspect the same might be true 10 years hence.
