Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?
The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.
On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.
DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.
The silence of DeSantis is deafening.
DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.
Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.
Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.
DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.
There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.
Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.

It’s actually not a reasonable statement. What the Dems did is horrific. Everyone, including Dems, should be outraged. DeSantis is allegedly a Presidential candidate, either 2024 or 2028. He should have made a very powerful statement, the type one would accept from a strong leader. Instead he referred to the outrageous act as an “escalation”. Keep in mind it happened in HIS state.

Such as the fact that there is NO way DeSantis did not know about ALL of this ahead (likely WAY ahead) of time and fave the go ahead to the Palm Beach police and other local law enforcement to be there.
An FBI raid goes on with cooperation from local authorities.
That’s what I’m learning this week.
Plus those of us in FL know what is normal for DeSantis and the way he’s behaving since Monday is completely bizarre for him.
We have a Primary Election in FL in less than 2 weeks.
This is not how a normal candidate acts prior to standing for election.

Desantis isn’t built like Trump and would look 20 years older if he went through what Trump has gone through the last 6-7 years while Trump looks barely older, if at all. Did he? Why was it from his personal account? Did he authorize the participation of Florida law enforcement officials? Why did he not mention President Trump’s name…just the abbreviation for MarALago? Why has he been hiding for two days?
Why did he include Hunter Biden and the IRS in his tweet? To distract with other shiny objects? This was an unprecedented attack and the response should have addressed it solely.
Also, Ron, the IRS hired those agents to attack Trump supporters/middle class Americans who are its adversaries, not just politicians. You should make that clearer.
The one thing I’ve learned over the years of following this blog is how much Sundance understands nuance and scenarios. He knows when something or someone doesn’t sound right.
He’s read hundreds of thousands of statements and press releases over the years and recognizes the subtlties. Same with appearances from politicians.
One of the biggest stories in a century took place the other day in the Governor’s state, and it happens to the guy who is responsible his occupying his office, and everyone is talking about it, and where is the Governor who is comfortable in front of a camera and willing to use one any time he needs one???

What often happens is the staff of a politician gets really, really excited at the attention their guy is getting. They start imagining themselves in the halls of power even IF their guy isn’t after that yet.
Then, there’s the candidate, a person who is maybe happy staying where he is for a few more years, but the attention and the pushing from your friends, family, staff….it’s heady stuff.
Your donors see an opening to be even more powerful.
And, before you know it, your advisors have gotten in your face: Don’t do this, do that, don’t attach yourself too much to that guy, he’s toxic, and on and on.
He’s a good governor.
Were he POTuS and trying to do what Trump has done, they’d destroy him.

President Trump is a Florida resident and Gov. DeSantis has been very vocal and concise about it being his duty to protect Floridians’ rights. He’s fallen woefully short on relaying any outrage against Trump and his families’ rights being trampled on as citizens of his state. You’re naïve to think a governor wasn’t informed about the raid. If that doesn’t bother you or your husband then neither of you are seeing past your emotional ties to DeSantis. He’s shown to be a good governor up to this point of excluding a renowned and highly regarded constituent, Trump. Been a HUGE fan of President Trump even since I heard him on the Howard Stern Show back in 1991. Even back then I thought he would be a great President. He was on the show a few more times and after each one, my admiration grew. By the time he came down the escalator, I was asking all my friends, “Where have you guys been? As a Floridian this is important to know. I want to know.
This really is the question that needs to be answered. If DeSantis knew a day or two prior to the raid, he would have been able to muster a company of Florida State Troopers at Mar-a-Lago and gotten himself down there to lead them and prevent the FBI from entering the property. That would have been a line in the sand. If he did not know far enough in advance to prevent this outrageous criminal action, we can hope that he reached out to Donald Trump and told him what was about to happen.

The assertion that state law enforcement is powerless against the fed is a lie. A governor can stop federal action in his state. It requires guts and courage but is constitutional.
In one of the photos of the law officers blocking the gates of Mar-A-Lago, looked like a Palm Beach Sheriffs Office logo on one of the officer’s shirts. So FL LEO was present, and assume they would have had to receive authorization from somewhere to be present to assist the FBI. How high up the chain were people informed? Something this big, the personal residence of a former President, seems like somewhere in the Governor’s office notification, or a heads-up, would have been given. But, this is simply my assumption.
We’re still in that 72-hour phase, so expect a flood gate of new information to start coming out by tomorrow.

I’m really happy and relieved that you are writing this piece for the world to see.
From my perspective, I questioned DeSantis’s courage/fear factor during his run for Governor.
Remember if President Trump had not rallied for him and counseled him; he would NOT be Governor of Florida.
If you pay attention to DeSantis, he does try hard to mimic certain Trump moves but he is not Donald J. Trump; not even a little bit like him. DeSantis lacks that fearlessness and righteous anger that the man Donald Trump was born with.
We can’t expect DeSantis to be another Trump.
DeSantis has never had trouble finding a camera when it would suit his “action of the day”. He has more than a little Jesse Jackson in him. Not trashing the guy. Just pointing out he’s a politician with much larger personal goals. People are too quick to throw someone under the bus and they are too quick to glorify and deify someone when they do good.
Keep it balanced and keep it real. I still wish they guy was my governor and so do most of the folks in 49 other states.

My two cents from afar, although my family was from Florida and many other places, so I’m familiar enough.
I love DeSantis in his current role. He has a wife who just went through breast cancer treatment and very little kids.
He does not have the experience or the stones that Trump has.
Whether he’s been “instructed” by Mitch or not doesn’t matter to me.
He’s doing a good job in Florida.
While I think a Trump/DeSantis ticket would be unbeatable, I think DeSantis is perfect where he is, protecting Floridians.
We don’t know why the silence from many. Is there a legal reason? I don’t know.
What I do love is that Trump seems to be able to uncover the snakes, everywhere, in spite of McConnell.
That is his gift.

They keep including him in their polls, testing the water, hoping he can beat Trump. Think about that for a minute. Have you ever seen the Dems attack DeSantis the way they attack Trump? Has the Dem propaganda media put out hit piece after hit piece trying to discourage DeSantis from running or discourage people from voting for him? fwiw- I’m in Robert Barnes locals group (VivaBarnes) and in one of his videos, he said a deal had already been reached between Trump/DeSantis–I was kind of surprised by this because I thought they couldn’t run together since they were from the same state. I don’t necessarily believe what Barnes is saying is true (I have no clue), but that’s just what his contacts have told him.

There’s only one Donald J. Trump. It’s clear to me establishment forces from the Swamp are building DeSantis up as the logical alternative for 2024. Republicans like McConnell are hoping and wishing they can steer enough of the Republican electorate away from Trump so the business of the Swamp and Deep State can return to normal operations in DC.
It’s not a slam against DeSantis. He’s a perfectly competent governor for Florida who has had a picture-perfect tenure. Like most ambitious politicians, he’s an opportunist who knows the 2024 Republican nomination is his if Trump is somehow prevented from running or ends up dead.
