Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?
The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.
On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.
DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.
The silence of DeSantis is deafening.
DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.
Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.
Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.
DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.
There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.
Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.

I am disappointed in my Governor but I will still support him and vote for him for governor. I do think he has done a great job for the state of Florida. When our President Trump is finished with his terms I will probably support Governor Desantis for president because I do not see anyone else who even comes close to President Trump. Actually, DeSantis did get monoclonal antibody treatment to Florida, and succeeded in getting covid numbers to plummet in a matter of weeks. He set up mobile MA units around the state, taking it out where the people were, instead of making everyone come to the hospitals for it. Biden ended up taking control of how the MA treatments were doled out to the states, and Florida’s supply was cut in half. So DeSantis did an end run and went to Glaxo, who made an even better MA treatment, and he ordered it directly from the company instead of having to go through the govt. And he called out Biden and his administration for it every step of the way. Just saying, I was impressed at how he handled it.
Desantis played the game well last season…but this is a new game and he cannot run on last season’s successes…He needs to step up and be a leader on today’s challenges…

He literally tweeted against the raid and called it a banana republic, so I am not sure why you are saying that he refuses to take a side. He is very proactive and he is a warrior. I suspect you will see DeSantis come out strongly against the feds with some actions in the next few weeks or sooner. DeSantis is even going to other state’s to campaign for candidates like Kari Lake. Desantis doesn’t avoid controversy. He literally steps in it. You talk about how he only fights when he has a legislature on his side? I think there is a difference, however subtle, between fact finding on his part and Tim Scott’s telling “let’s let this play out” line; man, has Scott (and pretty much every elected official in SC) turned out to be a huge disappointment. But at the risk of being disappointed and naive yet again, I’m willing to give RD a bit more time to work out a strategy. E.g., does FL have a team going over the laptop-from-he&& looking for FL crimes? If not, they should.

He could do some of these things and he may yet. However, I am not sure what he can do unilaterally. He has always colored within the lines when it comes to the Federales. Florida has 3 industries, Federal Space Program, retirement haven ( SS and medicare) and tourist destination. The first two make the state beholden to the Federal government in a big way. If he crosses those lines, he risks a boat load of angry Floridians. Disney World is not the first and not the only tourist draw by a long shot. There’s Bush Gardens (predates) and Universal Studios and Space Museums.
Yes I agree , all these guys ,at this level, are calculating politicians , whose lack of core courage is exposed by unanticipated events or circumstances, and they hope nobody will notice or remember . When President Trump went to Florida after election stolen from him and from America, DeSantis KNEW The President was a hunted man for crimes he did not even come close to committing. But, nary a word from St. DeSantis.
Seeing the danger President Trump, the legit President was in, DeSantis should have warned the possee of witch-hunting ursurping federal government officials coming into Florida they would be met with resistance and all the powers of the local sheriffs will be implemented to stop the bloodhounds.
He did nothing. He should have responded in real time. This could have been his moment of standing up to his puppeteers and standing WITH President Trump and US, not just “for” him.
I, like many other residents have been completely ignored by his Administration. My eyes were opened a while back.
Uniparty coward looking to see which way the wind blows.
Or calculating politician looking to remove his main obstacle to the nomination.

while simultaneously exclaiming Trump is a has been and his MAGA base was falling apart (LOL).. yep it’s pure ridiculousness is all around; but shocking to see how many MAGA’s fell for the post turtle named DeSantis.
I’m thrilled others are finally waking up to this truth.

I have always thought he was very weak in his battle with Gillum-he did not seem to fight very hard when it was close-until DJT propped him up.
And Gillum imploded spectacularly. It was awsome.
You may well be right and it … appears so… but I am hoping that appearances are deceiving. I am hoping that Trump and DeSantis have coordinated together, that DeSantis has not betrayed The President.
There is no way that PDJT could believe that this lawless and truly dangerous FBI would not raid his home looking desperately for documents that could harm — reveal — the truth about them, a lawless FBI, DOJ, CIA, etc.
We ALL KNOW these agencies are corrupt to their core. There is no way that Trump does not know it too… so he must have … prepared. The empty safe makes me believe he did prepare.
DeSantis too. DeSantis also could not possibly believe that these dangerous agencies won’t do the same to him that they did and are doing to Trump. They will. The FBI, DOJ, CIA… believe THEY are above the law and they believe it because it is true. They are.
I would hope that there are more patriots we don’t know about, inside the halls of power, who love our country and are fighting to save America from real, and very obvious danger… and that we just don’t know who they are. And I hope that DeSantis is among them.
I guess we’ll see… in the future.
HOW PDJT could say: “The best is yet to come” without knowing that that will become a reality is incomprehensible to me. He MUST know much more that we do not know and do not see… I pray.
