If I had to hazard a guess about what this was, I’d say it is most likely: (a) part of the massive Ukrainian stores of mortars and landmines in eastern Ukraine that were moved in order to keep the Russians from capturing them; or (b) the actual arms that were captured by Russian and then sold on the world arms market. Either way, somehow, they end up as part of an arms deal from Serbia to Bangladesh.
With the new and improved western weapons provided by the United States, Ukraine is likely upgrading and selling their old weapons to various nefarious arms dealers.
This shipment happened to crash, and that’s the only reason we are hearing about it.
(Via Daily Mail) – Soldiers in hazmat suits searched for signs of nuclear and chemical substances at the crash site of a Ukrainian cargo plane transporting nearly a dozen tons of mortar shells and land mines.
The Antonov An-12 light aircraft, which was transporting the weapons from Serbia to Bangladesh, had eight Ukrainian crew members onboard. They were all killed.
An official at Kyiv cargo operator Meridian told Reuters: ‘Of course they didn’t survive this.’ Eyewitnesses filmed the fireball crash in the early hours today, with explosions continuing for two hours and the charred wreckage burning until morning.
Drone images from the scene showed debris from the bulking aircraft strewn in fields. Serbia’s defense minister said the plane was carrying 11.5 tonnes of products made by its defense industry and the buyer was Bangladesh defense ministry. Greek authorities could not provide any more information on the aircraft’s cargo. (more)
Previously Russia was reporting to have captured a massive Ukranian military weapons cache near Kharkov (northeastern Ukraine). I wrote about it HERE. However, the video (partial screengrab below) was quickly removed by the internet police.
The doomed weapons shipment supposedly originated from Serbia, so the original source could be either Ukraine or Russia. Who knows? Amid all of the propaganda, Ukraine corruption and furious U.S. arms shipments into Ukraine, there are multiple sketchy participants likely involved in selling the arms on the global black market.
FUBAR
Since the cargo plane was Ukrainian I doubt that these were arms captured by Russia in the east. For one thing how would they transport them west to Serbia. It would be easier to move them east across the border into Russia.
I hope they are able to determine from what is left of the wreckage what type of arms were on board and country of origin.
Ukraine has been screaming for weapons like their lives depended on it. You would never get rid of 1 round of ammo or even a firecracker if they truly felt that threatened. Nope, this is not a good sign and we’ll never know the REAL MOTIVES. But my 1st guess is money/greed and moving them to another proxy war location for use there.
It’s black market arms dealing. Most of the arms aren’t going where we are being told. Every terrorist group across the world wants fresh American arms and thanks to Ukraine and Afghanastan, they are getting them cheap because there is a market glut. Troops aren’t getting 20% of what is being sent.
It’s all by design.
It’s a money AND power racket. Some people with the power to do so want to spread volience across the Earth.
This plane is from the Ukraine. Makes no sense for Russians not to use the almost totally safe Russian channels to move the arms.
Plus, how the hell can we export democracy without first arming everyone? No one can come close to matching our military – it’s so ridiculously over powered that it has to give away arms so it can start a fight. This is what we’ve done time and again.
Democracy is only for the cover sleeve and no, it doesn’t smell like teen spirit either.
And maybe someone has a mouse in their pocket because “we” doesn’t include “me”. I withhold my consent, not that they care as long as they have the ability to take my money for their use.
“No one can come close to matching our military”
sarcasm?
My take on whether that would be sarcasm or not would depend upon who is writing the Rules of Engagement.
Joe’s 10% just crashed….laundering cash is a lot easier than a fast & furious under the table deal.
This was a Ukrainian plane with a Ukrainian crew who were contracted to deliver a cargo of munitions from Serbia to Bangladesh. The Serbian Defense Minister says so in this very article. Cargo was manufactured by Serbian company/s and bought by Bangladesh. It was not old Ukrainian crap they were getting rid of. Here’s a link to one of many news stories about it. https://nypost.com/2022/07/17/cargo-plane-operated-by-ukraine-carrier-meridian-crashes-in-greece/ Also there is video of the plane crashing with one of its engines engulfed in flames. Look it up and do some research before jumping to conclusions. Shoot I can get wrapped up in conspiracies as easy as anyone but there is too much info out in the open about this. Do you really think Ukraine would sell off common munitions items that they desperately need? Even old ones? If they are selling anything it is Javelins to China.
jeff H has a lot of faith in the Serbian defense Minister who would say anything he is told to say by the right people (CIA or DOD) and for the right $$$$$.
he is so not alone.
You’re on the wrong site friend – this one is mostly entertainment at this point.
caesars to russia.

while Serbia claims ownership, my spydy sense says this plane was never in Serbia. Plane left Ukraine with a Serbia cover story. Sounds like CIA or DOD with Ukraine as the carve out.
Things never change and without Trunp, it is business as usual.
Never in Serbia? Get your senses rechecked – they’ve gone haywire.
Drone images from the scene showed debris from the bulking aircraft strewn in fields.
Clearly this was shot down then – it broke apart in the air and dispersed it’s junk all over. Why is there no mention of what may have caused this? Who shot it down? Greece? No. So it must have been Russia right? Well how’d they do that over Greece?
Curiouser.
Not so sure about that. It was carrying explosives, and explosives tend to, well, explode. And explosions tend to fling debris all over the place. (Not to mention even a normal plane crash leaves a field of debris along the path as it disintegrates and falls into pieces before it finally stops moving.)
It doesn’t DISPROVE a shooting down, but I don’t see that it is evidence for one either.
The civilian video of the aircraft going down showed the entire plane engulfed in flame. Hauling high explosives carelessly can lead to such things…
I think the Russians are dipping into their old cold war stockpiles and it seems to be working out pretty well for them. So I don’t not really understand why do Ukrainians would send perfectly good munitions that they need to Serbia which will eventually be sold the Bangladesh. Sure it’s a bunch of old shells for Soviet systems, but a lot of those systems are still in used by the Ukrainian military.
I didn’t know the Bangladesh we the Pods storage for world arms.
Or- the plane was carrying US armaments that were sent to Ukraine and being sold on the black market and rather than them showing up with terrorists the plane was shot down- aka Libya……
And Susan Rice didn’t even have to make another public lie.
