This is not The Onion or any form of spoof. This is real life, and it is happening today.
Amid a heatwave throughout most of Texas, The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, is urgently asking Texas residents to conserve electricity because “it has projected a shortage in energy reserves Monday “with no market solution available.” Voluntary conservation is needed between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday.”
The problem, as the Texas power authorities have identified it, is outlined via NBC News:
According to ERCOT, factors driving the need for this important action by customers:
-
-
- Record high electric demand. The heat wave that has settled on Texas and much of the central United States is driving increased electric use. Other grid operators are operating under similar conservative operations programs as ERCOT due to the heatwave.
-
-
-
- Low wind. While solar power is generally reaching near-full generation capacity, wind generation is currently generating significantly less than what it historically generated in this time period. Current projections show wind generation coming in less than 10 % of its capacity.
-
Conservation notifications are issued when projected reserves may fall below 2300 MW for 30 minutes or more, according to ERCOT. (link)
Pres. Trump jokes about windmills in speech on energy: "All of a sudden it stops, the wind and the televisions go off, and your wives and husbands say, 'Darling, I want to watch Donald Trump on television tonight, but the wind stopped blowing." https://t.co/JsAo4rT8TM pic.twitter.com/H3ERYkZ5CR

LOL, HaHaHa!
?fit=1200%2C670&ssl=1
I remember when our FIRST green-black President Obama was elected … our office stopped providing ewwwwww … plastic water bottles in our conference room and replaced them with glass pitchers of water and paper cups. OMG!! The virtue-signaling compliance officers went NUTS! Promising to do even MORE to stop the seas from rising.
yeah … that stupid practice bit the dust long before Trump was elected.
Notice Obozo & Lord Carbon Credit fraud Gore both purchased coastal mansions that have Godzilla sized carbon foot prints. They do not even pretend to act like there is a crisis.
For added fun to mess with Watermelons, bringup how thise anti-american treasonous “Free Trade” deals enabled American companies to skirt those expensive environmental laws (and quality control, labor laws, and taxes that funded local, county, state, federal government) and pollute with impunity overseas (like China) and than ship the often times slave labor made junk back here using all that carbon for transportation while netting the corporations huge profits and a huge trade imbalance, while screwing the environment and workers of both countries. Watermelon frauds they are. Its all bs and in truth they hate the environment because they are not really guarding it
So let’s fast track this whole green new deal bullsh*t so every state can be like this and the crap in California. SMFH
It’s 104 at my house right now. I’m not turning my ac until my generator kicks in. Some lessons must be learned
Exactly what globalists want…..every state to be like this.
Of course the globalist elites exempt themselves from enduring what they heap upon us.
Stop blaming globalist bogeymen.
Texas is the most energy rich lower 48 state. Passing through north western Texas at night is like driving through Saudi Arabia with all the gas flares. (Been in both places)
Windmills get more tax breaks and state and federal subsidies than natural gas plants. In addition windmills are nothing more than a deprecating assets to be sold over and over, not energy producing devices.
So blame the federal and state legislatures
>>So blame the federal and state legislatures
Who are downstream from, and subordinate to D.C. and its money. Which in turn is downstream from, and subordinate to the Globalists. Who in turn are downstream from, and subordinate to Satan.
I lived 40 miles from the Tehachapi Wind Power Facility in Tehachapi Pass……in fact my CC at one point had an affiliated wind power program with them to provide techs…..they only generated on average 25% of rated capacity on any given day and you could see on “good” days driving through many wind turbines locked out for maintenance…… their period of payback exceeded their life expectancy and the shells of their remains are left in place as monuments to the failure of wind power to meet the promises it offers
btw that education program was run by the husband of the college president….not only was not qualified in the area but was committing fraud with NSF funds in the program…..not wanting her husband prosecuted she shut the program down and canceled the program with all the students that had spent time and resources forfeiting both…I know because several classmates that were friends were a part of the program…….another example of Leftist fraud that is a part of the overall scam that is “alternate energy”
I lived in that area for several years. It was heartbreaking to observe the ugly being that was imposed on those beautiful hills.
I don’t think that those who propose and implement such things have ever lived on the open plain or a good-sized mountain; they’ve never laid on their back on a summer afternoon when they were 11 years old, just staring at the clouds drifting over–deciding what each one resembles (and hoping mom doesn’t call them in to do some chores).
They have never cradled 3-4 cats in their lap in the old barn well after dark in cold country, when the air temp is 25 (f) below and the stars are blazing bright–so close you think you can touch them.
They have experienced next to nothing about the beauties and complexities of nature as it is.
I’m grateful that God has promised a new heaven and a new earth. Not a different one, but a new one: He has never changed His mind about the value, beauty, or rightness. of what He created.
Monuments to government subsidies successfully mined …
You are correct, as observed by Warren Buffet (2014).
Buffet quote of note:
“For example, on wind energy, we get a tax credit if we build a lot of wind farms. That’s the only reason to build them. They don’t make sense without the tax credit.”
Kroesus … what does CC stand for?
Community College
I detest the windmills grrrrrrr! At least if an oil well dries up, the well is plugged & the surface equipment removed and the location is remediated.
Any why Germany is firing up their coal furnaces.
I want to see NYC, SF, SEA run on windmills and wishes.
you should see the high tension transmission lines through Cajun Pass from Hoover Dam to the LA basin
Wow. Praying for the senior citizens that are vulnerable in extreme heat situations. Not a laughing matter at all.
Yes prayers are needed for them because the heat and humidity are serious issues right now in TX and LA. I pray for the pets also left outside.
Yes!
Babies too. Children under 4 can have permanent brain damage from temperatures over 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Two seniors in this house, AC set at 84, ceiling fans on full. We are comfortable but not exerting so we can stay that way.
Any word from windmill loving, Greenie, Bushie Abbott? I haven’t seen any.
In the meantime Fratboy O’Rourke’s team has seized on the issue and is playing it up big time, excoriating Abbott for neglecting to make our grid safe (as if they actually care)….saying he’d fix it. Bull. He’d fix it all right.
But he is right about one thing.
So enamoured is Abbott with his precious green agenda that he’s doubling down on these wretched expensive, bird killing, ineffective, inefficient monstrosities which have polluted our landscape. And which deliver nothing in the way of reliable energy.
Even after the catastrophic freeze, a warning that our grid was old and unstable, he did squat to make sure the Railroad Commission in charge of securing our energy was doing something to update and repair. Who couldn’t see this coming??
I bet Abbott is somewhere praying as hard as he can that our grid holds. It’s an election year after all, and the Dems have been trying forever to turn us Blue.
I’ll vote for open border Abbott while holding my nose because otherwise this state is toast well and truly.
Just upped to 85. I am getting extremely worried for those who have little to no AC. Our per kWh price was increased to double last month. Wonder how soon it will be increased again. I dread to think what overextended families or those on low incomes are going to face with their bills. Praying for all.
We have sown the wind …
*WE* did not.
*THEY*, the liberals and democrats, did.
.
.
.
I know you didn’t mean “we” as in those who can see through the liberal garbage.
The gop controls texas
Correction: Bushies control Texas. They are not conservative.
GOP in control doesn’t end foreign invasions by millions or maintain reliable energy systems. I live a couple miles from the Alaska pipeline and we can’t afford to fill our home heating fuel tank, cold weather will be here in a few weeks. Governments are creating disasters nationwide.
Wordman needs to show up here. C’mon Wordman
It used to be, it took a Hurricane to shut down the Gulf Coast refineries.
Now, when we have 3 days with no wind, they start closing them.
Can I charge my car? 🤣
….or as PDJT would ask Melania….”Can I watch TV darling?……”No, the wind is not blowing hard enough!”
You actually believe PDJT asks Melanie’s permission? You sound like a p-whipped leftist …
Why so disrespectful? I watched PDJT at a rally, say exactly those words, when referring to climate change and the wind mills. Just to be clear, I was not at his rallies, but watched them on different podcasts. Cheers.
Kenji Kroesus’ was quoting a PDJT statement from PDJT rally some time ago (when Texas was suffering from below freezing temps).
I really do not believe Kroesus meant his statement as what you think.
Alright … you guys set me straight. Sorry for my hypersensitivity … PDJT 2024!!! Please God!!
Ok, you’re off the hook. But don’t let it happen again!
🤣 🤣
Trump actually made that statement himself (several times at rallies). He was being sarcastic. Please don’t attack the poster if you don’t get the joke.
LOL THAT sir is a play on a skit he does about Wind power at many of his rallies….LOL
If I got to choose between watching Melania and anything on TV, that’s a no-brainer
Question for the media to answer ASAP, huh?
Remember folks.. this is a feature.. not a flaw. It’s not supposed to actually work. But you are entertained.. are you not?
Good points !
No words…
It’s time to scrap the eagle choppers and build a few power plants.
OR they could turn on the old plants or they could allow more “Peak Power Plants”.
.
OR they could remember the eyes of Texas Are Upon them and deliver more power.
Perhaps they could redirect power from the Austin Metro area and send it to other portions of Texas.
so that’s why my cousin tweeted me yesterday that it was 115 in her house (she lives outside of Austin)… Even with all Louisiana’s problems, we only have electricity interruptions due to extreme weather not climate stupidity.
We here in Canada have not had that yet, however on the weekend we had our cable provider go down. No TV, internet, phones all were out. People shopping were out of luck unless they had cash, which thank the Lord we always have that at home and in our wallet when shopping. It still has not been totally resolved but much better, 30 hours it lasted in my area and across the nation. My heart goes out to the elderly, the sick and anyone that can not tolerate this heat. God Bless.
Donna, here in the pacific northwest when the power goes out the landline phones still work. Is the same true there?
Boy, didn’t see this coming. Who knew Texas would be hot this time of year! Let’s go Brandon!
Everyone in Texas to step outside between 2 and 8, and blow.
They have a district in Dallas for that… but the hours are much different.
And the rates are probably cheaper, too.
Daniel- It must be the Harry Hines district you speak of 🙂
How about we all yell “Let’s go Brandon” at 2?
…I’m going in 7 min. Lol
Abortion Barbie aka Wendy Davis is good at that …. blowing …. at least that’s what the sugardaddies that bought her boobs and paid for her college and law school tuition tell me.
This guy has a plan. He just cools a single room in his house. Pretty simple and yet ingenious.
Nice. We all have to huddle in one room … like the third worlders do. Yep … all according to plan. Now … a MacMansion is defined as a 2-bed, 1-bath house. Take THAT! All you fat Americans on your high horses!
I’ve already started my own bug farm… what are you waiting for?
I actually raised worms as a kid … only for our own personal fishing use. I never imagined that’d become a life skill …
Thank you! That was very helpful, and since I am in Central OK, I have similar issues and advantages.
When I was a child in the late 50s to early 60s, my family endured triple digit summers in California’s Imperial Valley. No AC but with table fans running all day and windows open during the night, when it was still safe for a middle class household to do so, for what little relief we could get from overnight temps still in the high 80s and low 90s.
We survived without AC.
True, and in the 40s they had no TV, no microwave, a single line telephone…
And in the late 1800s they didn’t have electricity or a refrigerator.
The Romans didn’t have soap or toothbrushes either.
Honestly, we live in a 1st World County. These kinds of issues are caused by political “scientists”… not by real scientists…
Certainly NOT by REAL Engineers …
Real engineers and real scientists designed all this crap that fails us. Big business made tons of money off of their labors.
Real E’s and S’s also were deeply involved in changing the system to use these incompetent energy sources.
And they were heavily involved in producing the propaganda lies that bulldozed over anyone who dared challenge them with reality and common sense.
They were there every step of the way. Lying from inception all the way to now despite this gross failure.
Wait, wait…. engineers and scientists design stuff. It’s fun.
Whether they get built is up to the MBAs who look at the bottom line.
But, it’s the political “scientists” that distort the marketplace.
BTW… IMHO you are conflating “climate scientists” with “real scientists”… the former are political “scientists” at their core.
REAL engineers and scientists understand the rules of the universe are established by the Creator …..their projects and developments reflect the physics that rule reality
Let me give you a clue, Jim. I sounded the alarm in the 1980s, and was told to follow orders. With a wife, two kids, and a mortgage the last thing I needed was to be fired. Our CEO years later spewed this conforming BS because he was going to make money on it, and with my pension of 30 years on the line, I was not about to take it in the a$$.
Romans had soap.
Really?
I thought they had oils they would rub on their skin and use leaves to brush… then they would scrape off the oil off their skin and the dirt would come out with it.
Was it on a rope?
We can all survive on very little, in fact, God says that we could live on His word alone. Though, if He had intended that life for us, why give us any gifts nature has to offer?
There’s a difference between survival and thriving. We’ve become lazy and dependant and at the same time, we’re being taken advantage of.
Perhaps we should stop designing houses to purely be cooled via forced air so that IF the power goes out, we’re not up a creek. At the same time, maybe we hang the politicians who’d rather see us sweat in our beds than loose a single corrupt dollar from their lined pocket.
I advocate a balance of both. I’ll learn to sweat in the short term and they’ll learn to swing in the long!
It’s true. We’ve gone weak. I’ve been riding my bicycle in this heat again and yeah…. I sweat and stuff. I think we all need to get a bit stronger in that way.
You won’t even be able to eat the bugs
https://news.yahoo.com/insects-probably-feel-pain-so-should-they-be-protected-in-law-163144353.html
I wondered how long it would take for liberals to start saying we can’t eat the bugs.
Of course, they will still try to get rid of livestock, for the environment dontchaknow.
From the article:
“However, ethical implications have not been thoroughly considered, since animal welfare protections tend not to cover insects.
“We argue that insects most likely have central nervous control over nociception, based on behavioural, molecular and anatomical neuroscience evidence. Such control is consistent with the existence of pain experience, with important implications for insect farming, conservation and their treatment in the laboratory.”
I WONDER what they would say about babies in the womb being aborted…..
Off topic?
“Record high electric demand.” Of course. There are thousands moving to TX, aside from those who arrive illegally. This increases demand. The idiots in charge have apparently not accounted for population growth, even though TX is one of the fastest growing states in population and has been for at least the last 10 years.
If the powers that be in TX really wanted to take care of existing demand and prepare for future increases they would build nuclear plants. But they won’t because solar panels and windmills generate huge donations for politicians (generated power is a side effect).
And if Texas loses power during triple digit + heat, Governor Abbott might as well resign immediately. This is HIS GREEN BOONDOGGLE of stupidity.
Texas wind farms have been going on for a LONG time. It has been expanding a lot and I’m not sure how much can be lain at Abbott’s feet.
Abbott is the reason they’re expanding! He’s been in bed with these green energy companies for years
Yep.
And now they are offering big farmers money to use land for solar panel farms.
I know this for a fact.
True, I remember years back flying into Corpus and seeing the miles of bird choppers, was going to construction yard to pre-commission a gas platform bound for Israel.
Unit still in use today with excess product being sold to other countries, even the ones they are not “friendly” with. Much turmoil in area was about the route of pipe line.
Funny how that works.
Yep. The disasters that will chase Abbott out of office this November are starting to come to fruition.
But, with Beto the other choice. . . . . . .
They shut us down for days during that unusually cold winter blast. Killing many elderly in their homes.
Most here had never experienced those type of temperatures.
Now, we are experiencing unusually high temperatures, and again facing possible outages.
Abbott should’ve been replaced during primaries. However, President Trump got behind Abbott early in primaries. PT probably knows the Bush cabal is still running Texas and we still have corrupt voting machines.
I lived in the irrigated desert for sixty years and, after we moved from swamp coolers to air conditioning, a pattern develops, not unlike the request from the TX grid operator.
Cool the house in the morning when outside temps are moderate, making air conditioner use more effective, then the thermal mass of the house resists heat rise until well into the late day.
Today is a typical day, it’ll be over 100 and I raised the unit temp from 73 to 82 about two hours ago and it won’t come on until 5-6pm. If I had leeway until 2pm, same thing.
With modern thermostats which can be programmed, it’s easy. No need to be there and do it manually.
The politics and machinations of the grid operators and suppliers and politicians are a separate issue that won’t be solved with themostat settings or peacefully IMO,so I don’t worry about those humans any more. It is what it is.
Here in Southern Calimexistan our power is provided by ex-managers from the Guatemalan Public Works and Orchata Factory.
And the sourcing is diktated by the apparatchiks in San Franciskovich.
Consequently our cost is stratospheric and our grid is what you might see on the mountains behind Caracas.
Our basic tier is 15 cents per KwH for some “baseline” that some bureaucrat thinks it’s good enough. Likely two light bulbs, a small fridge and a 19″ color Sony Triniton from 1975.
After than up to 4 times that “baseline” the cost is 25 cents per KwH. Meaning this computer I’m using right now, is costing me 25 cents per KwH. (*). If I run my AC… which is not running optimally because I can’t recharge it and the replacement will be $50K ( two units )… then I go over than number. Last year we saw two bills at 500 bucks, this year our cost is about 50% more (less power, more costly) so I figure we’ll see $700 in August and September.
Thankfully, we live near the Coast so we got a breeze and several fans. Even so, the AC is set to cool to 78F, that’s it. Some parts of the house ( we got it zoned ) are allowed to run to 81F.
The truth is that all of this is man made. Putin recently was known to have poo’poo’d “political science” as a non-science. He is right.
Time to build more dams, more power plants, more gas refineries, put those political scientist, neocons and other progressives who have never had a real job in private industry… to work flipping burgers, digging trenches, bolting pipes, etc… honest jobs!
(*) We moved to energy efficient stuff… laptop, small micro form factor PCs, power savvy NAS, LED lights (**). Running my BIG Class A audio amps and tube gear is likely an act of insurrection against Sacramentograd.
(**) I think I broke my collection of lava lamps.
Noooooo – not the Lava Lamps! We’re doomed….
I still have Swamp Cooler!
It works great…except for when the humidity goes up. Which isnt very often. But it’s still bearable even then.
We also have cooling stations up north in Tucson-maybe Phoenix also…where the elderly and at risk can go during the day if they need to and hang out.
National Weather service Twitter has all kinds of advice concerning heat related information. Still worth checking out.
Not sure how much it will help other parts of the country….here it is —-a dry heat.
Low wind? Well just get the leftist regressive cult to line up their mouthpieces and blow. That should get ’em moving given all the hot air their full of.
I spoke with director our electric co-op in our area. He is in favor of Small Modular Nuclear reactors. Remember, we have dozens of nuclear reactors powering aircraft carriers and subs all over the world. It works and it the SMRs use a material that is not as volatile or risky as the big reactors. Ultimate green energy.
https://www.iaea.org/topics/small-modular-reactors
they have been able to make a thorium-fueled reactor for several decades the size of a refrigerator and able to power a house for 20 years…..2 main arguments against it are 1) it does not make fissionable material usable for nuclear weapons 2) cuts utilities out of the equation if each household is self-supporting……thorium is safe and reliable with little waste product at end of life
but that would make too much sense /s
I saw an article in Popular Mechanics years ago that described how a small nuclear reactors could provide safe abundant electricity for 30K homes and the fuel would last 100 years.
I also read about a plan (in PM also) that would build a monorail system along interstate highways that could move attached vehicles at 100 mph. The vehicles were gas powered and you would drive to an “on ramp” where your car would be attached and inserted into the flow by computer software and you would program your “off ramp” You could sleep, read, or watch a movie while you traveled along the monorail. Thus leaving the interstate for big trucks, etc.
Agreed. 100%
Maybe they should do some sort of forced conscription of Democrats, tie them to yokes, and make them walk in circles to turn the windmills?
I think that would be fair.
Kept Conan fit
Those windmills have killed the sea birds, burned up the surrounding land, and have weakened our state, not to mention they made the coastal landscape ugly as sin. Just greedy ho’s running our state and country.
I am constantly rated on my energy usage in comparison to my neighbors. My electric company keeps me informed. 😖
Just got a call today regarding last Friday. I was 59 out of 100 similar homes in my neighborhood. How do you like that?
So, when they want, they can let me know I’ve used more than my portion for the day, week, or month.
Anyway, I will let y’all know if my electric goes out. It was 107° yesterday. Already over 100, and it’s not 2:00 yet. Ugh.
Yiikes! PG&E doesn’t shame me … they (and the CAPUC) just keep hiking rates to the highest in the nation … if not world … whilst they “invest” in more landscape blight (wind factories) … and burn down the State due to suspended maintenance for the last 40 years. And we pay in tiers … and if you use ANY energy between the hours of 2:00P and 9:00P … you get economically RAPED. The State has allowed them to PUNISH the consumer into conservation … to push people into Energy POVERTY … to achieve their “net zero” fantasy
Ya, robocalls and emails to let me know if I am good or not.
We are paying a lot more for electricity this summer, and yet…
what have they done since the winter storm? To strengthen our elec supply? Bunch of ho’s.
Eco scolds will be the FIRST in my sights when the full on Revolution starts
What region are you in?
Just imagine the additional energy drain of massive illegal immigration. LEO vehicles, shelters, busing them, housing, feeding, schools, emergency services . . . . All require energy in addition to our tax dollars.
Texas really needs to stomp on their green weenies… I have 3 heat systems (geo, NG, & wood), 2 electric (grid & solar) and 2 sources of water. Redundant systems are a good thing. Failing to plan and all that.
Turn the power off to Austin (San Francisco) and the rest of the state will be fine.
Maybe the looney Liberals and greenies will leave Austin! And any other Texas area they snuck into.
Always try to find a positive angle…and that would be it.
I’m sorry, but that’s funny.
Can’t be blaming the ice this time. Green power is unreliable power.
I live in AZ we have Ducey the do*chebag as governor and thanks to all the CA lefties moving in and election fraud will probably get another Ducey wannabe for gov in this upcoming election.
BUT
I’m amazed with the open border and publicity stunts winter week without heat and windmills without a/c Abbott still seems to be loved and voted for by many Texans….
Don’t feel bad one bit. It’s the same as all of the Boomers that cannot retire right now because of their 401k hits, you voted for it and this is what you get. Abbott sold that state out, within 10 years Texas becomes California lite unless a MAGA governor comes along.
“ you voted for it and this is what you get. “
uh huh.
Just like you voted for Biden and Kamel.
Cornyn is a bigger problem than Abbott, IMO.
To all my Texas brethren. Turn on your AC. Run your washers and dryers. Charge your Teslas and Hybrids. Run your pool pumps on high. CRASH THE SYSTEM!! Crashing it now will make for a less painful future. And, please, take care of each other.
dangit Texas!
What the hec have you done? Havent even had a chance to escape California yet and now I have to flee to Florida.
Don’t get too excited MP. 44% of our sweet, sweet AC powering electricity is generated by NatGas in the Sunshine State. I have read here in several different postings that I do not have time to reference that joetato the Insufferable, might sell a huge LNG plant in Port Arthur to Germany. Another Texan LNG plant may be shut down because their “aging” turbines generate formaldehyde whilst spooling up to compress the gas into fluid. If you are from Cali, trying to sleep at night with 75 to 90% humidity at 78 deg without AC really takes some getting used to.
A natural gas plant in northern Oklahoma that provides energy to Texas just unexpectedly exploded last week. With other recent explosions at energy plants, it’s hard to see it all as a coincidence. Let us pray for a good resolution. The Biden administration and WEF are pursuing the climate change agenda at all costs.
huh, maybe a saboteur crossed the border recently to pull that off, I dunno?
This is the same group that killed people in the February 2021 ice storm when these windmills froze over. It has been triple digit temperatures for weeks and they really must take us for fools. Now threatening rolling blackouts. See how fast this gets fixed when people die in the heat.
Remember when Rush would celebrate Earth Day by running the AC with the windows open?
Good times
Dang I wish this would happen in commiefornia or new dork.
LOL…soon come…..
We reside 40 miles NW of Fort Worth, outside temp now is 101f and rising with a very light HOT breeze. We have county water restrictions, and the local water infrastructure is being pushed to the limit possibly due to the influx of new residents and many new houses. The planners have dropped the ball big time?
Aaah, of course.
Here in Calimexistan they had a hiring job fair for the managers of our grid and power utilities… turns out the ex-managers from the Guatemalan Public Power and Orchata Factory got their green cards and wanted a raise.
So they got laid off and the State went down to Costa Rica and hired a new batch from La Compañia de Electricidad Publica y Tamales Rojos.
I guess the laid off Guatemalans might have landed new jobs in Texas.
My sincere condolences…. oh, oh… .lights are flick……..r… g….. . # .
Not a problem! All we need is MORE solar panels. Just cover all the cheapest zip codes with seas of solar panels. Then, replace them all in 10 years when their efficiency craters. Then cover even MORE of the poor country with solar panels.
HEY! Here’s an idea … let’s build the border wall out of all solar panels! My local BART transit system has covered all their parking lots in massively expensive solar panels which has provided “carports” for all the cars in their lots. So … BART has increased their parking fees to “offset” the cost. Nevermind that their parking lots have been utterly EMPTY since COVID … but it was a real “two birds with one stone” kinda project.
why can’t we do this along every lf of the southern border? It will be a “green” border wall! First in the world!! Ohhhhh Momma … so green, so good for the planet, so good for the border. A real win-win … Right? Let’s 6uild the 6order 6ack better
Nope. Not giving shade to illegals…bridge to far
Maybe they’ll STAY in the shade … on THEIR side of the border
And more immigrant invaders looking for power is only going to make things better right Simon Says? And increase those toxic Globull warming green house gases you calim have to be reduced to save the planet? Passing all of those Watermelon US laws to reduce while bringing in millions of additional carbon footprints? Its all a bunch of bs
I believe Kyle Bass was able to get that one stopped.
The Chinese were in the process of buying a ginormous ranch next to a military base and near the Texas-Mexico border. The Chinese said they were going to have a windfarm. The towers would have provided useful structures for placement of surveillance equipment aimed at the military base. Oh yeah, that location never got much wind. Other than that, it would have been all great.
Do you mean to tell me that this possibility never occurred to any of the geniuses who pushed for this technology?
Occurred? They had to fight tooth and nail against every attempt to bring reality and common sense into the conversation.
LOL…. I have currently 3 10kva generators at my home if the grid goes down…. so we can keep AC on as the temp goes up……keep the freezers running too…… each day 1 kw an hour from solar panels too…….
Blackouts are now inevitable whether in US or Europe….and so little you can do about it except get rid of these green people and a president that really does not have a clue.
Today in the US you are taking more Russian oil than ever……. banning it is no good because the EU right now is buying oil from India….. who is buying it from Russia at a healthy markup with all countries laughing all the way to the bank…..its just the West that are going bankrupt!
They must really love you guys!
Governor screw-up!
What they need are more electric car charging stations.
The irony is wonderful……
At least if they are not spinning they are not killing. Another Green fail
Texas … suffering an energy shortage. Incredible.
At least the birds are happy.
Wasn’t the ERCOT board a bunch of O types? Dims and such?
This is like the opposite of the winter storm where ERCOT didn’t winterize.
Remember all of the rallies by President Trump where he talked about what would happen when the wind wasn’t blowing?
He’s been pretty much right about everything.
So just when you think Texas is getting its act together on the border, yet another Progressive initiative comes back to bite it in the butt. This is TEXAS for God’s sake!!! Texas and Europe scrambling for energy. Who’d a thunk?!
and yet the wind farms here in Central OK are subsidized by the State and perhaps even the federal government! We need to revolt against these stupid policies.
I am rooting for TEXIT to become a bigger movement across Texas and catch fire here in OK, and get rid of the stupid solar panels and wind farms.
Drill, Baby, Drill!
Don Quijote tilting at the windmills was more effective than wind power. Tell the greenies to pound salt and start drilling again like pragmatists and not day dreamers tripping out on drugs.
The margin between projected demand and available capacity is razor thin…less than 1%…the climate propagandists will be the end of us if we don’t somehow reel in mass media disinformation on the lefts bogus climate change lies…
After you reel in the MSM, your bigger task will be flushing the green turds out of the government propaganda facilities some folks call “public schools”.
@Kent- these lies?
1970 We will be in an ice age by 2000.
1976 Global Cooling will cause a World War by 2000.
1989 Global Warming and rising sea levels will wipe entire nations off the map by 2000.
1990 We have only 5 to 10 years left to save the Rain Forests.
1999 The Himalayan Glaciers will be gone in 10 years.
2000 Snow will soon be a thing of the past.
2006 Global Warming will cause fewer hurricanes.
2007 In order to save the planet we must rename Global Warming to Climate Change and prove that it’s deleterious effects are real.
2008 The Arctic will be ice-free by 2013.
2008 ABC’s Good Morning America predicted the following consequences from climate change by June 2015:
[-New York City will be under water.]
[-A gallon of milk will cost $12.99]
[-A gallon of gasoline will cost $9.00]
2012 Global Warming will cause more hurricanes.
2016 Believe that the science is settled and belittle those as deniers who aren’t buying it.
Greenies tell me I don’t believe in science because I don’t believe in climate change.
OK, fair enough… Lets look at real numbers then.
Scientist believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old and we have been recording global temperatures since 1880…..
They wish to disrupt and destroy the American economy based upon .000003% of the actual data!!
Furthermore; the policies they intend to unleash on our country will hamstring only America while other non-jurisdictional economies around the world will produce more and profit from that.
“Global warming: It’s a hoax. It is bad science. It is hijacking public policy. It is the greatest scam in history.”
John Coleman Founder, The Weather Channel.
At what point in Earth’s history did the climate not change and what is the ideal sea level?
Coincidentally and conveniently every catastrophic prediction always happens to be 7 to 12 and sometimes 15 years away.
