The people of Ukraine do not need a drawn out war, they need a peace settlement even if they have to give up some of their territory. A less favourable peace settlement now may in a generation or two be followed by a better settlement but a prolonged war will have bad repercussions for a number of generations.
The thing of it is there are plenty of Ukrainians that WANT the separation, they consider themselves Russians. It isn’t all about the UKrainians, unfortunately people in the West have been brainwashed. I hate our gummint for what they have done.

I’m kind of speechless. Even though my better senses redirect to focusing on things and making sure I understand why what’s happening is important, I find myself more often than not naturally feeling quite apathetic about this whole thing.
I mean, at this point if you’re in our military I do pray and feel bad for you, but recently there have been many opportunities to get discharged without a lifelong black mark (vax, religion; hell,just saying you support the normal definition of man and woman would probably get you out of it). If you’re still there you should know what to expect, and you’ll have to do your job that they require of you in Ukraine whether you like it or not.
Signing up to defend America or even retaliate for America is one thing( a great and noble thing). Signing up to give your life for ermmmm, “Ukraine”, or perhaps better stated, to help our leaders cover-up their crimes & corruption and help them facilitate their personal wealth gathering at our expense, is quite another. I can’t support that. And at this point, unlike Pilate, they SHOULD know what they do.
I have family still in, and it drives me nuts. He is fulfilling his contract and then moving on to greener pastures. I just hope this crap gets resolved soon, but I am not holding my breath.

My son in Grafenwöhr called his mother today for Mothers’ Day.
Of course I had to interrupt and interrogate. I asked him how he was calling, because last I heard it was to be incommunicado “field exercises”. Well, yes and no. NNnnn nnnn can’t say. NATO is doing “trainings”. I asked him where he was now. He was, he said, on a hammock hanging out post-dinner, and that by the way the food they were getting was awful. I asked him whether he was somewhere other than the base. Outside? I got back a nnnnn…..
The only thing substantive that I could get was that the troops have been told that Russia is declaring war tomorrow. I replied that I heard a rumor that May 9 was the day to declare victory. He said they heard different.
I asked how is it that seemingly everyone is freely going in and out of Kiev in the middle of a war, how are we moving military equipment from the west to the east. The response was that as far as the son knows, they’re doing it. He had no details.
The kid could have been blowing smoke at me, but it all sure sounded like hooey. I hope they all come home soon.
