The business section of the Toronto Star has an appropriate albeit ominous headline for Canadians today:
“Brace for impact: Our supply chain is about to take a further hit, and we’ll all feel it“
The news couldn’t come at a worse time considering that Canada is feeling the biggest increase in food inflation in the past 30 years. Yeah, for American’s it is a bad situation, but for those north of the border it’s even worse.
The truckers north of the border are planning a major protest to draw the attention of Canadian citizens who continue to keep their head buried. #TruckersForFreedom. What they are trying to avoid, is soon to be unavoidable.
(MSM, CANADA) – In Canada, where as much as 90% of the country’s fruits and vegetables come from the US during the winter, a vaccine mandate for truckers is slowing down food shipments. Drivers who aren’t fully vaccinated against covid-19 have to quarantine for two weeks after entering Canada. Just about half of US truckers are vaccinated, according to industry estimates.
Vaccination rates among Canadian truckers are roughly in line with the national average, which is in the 83% to 87% range, according to the Canadian Trucker Alliance.
The mandate adds to the already strained supply chains in Canada, which have been subject to worker shortages, transportation bottlenecks, and recent storms. These factors are pushing up food prices globally.
The price to bring food across the border has doubled on some routes due to the scarcity of available truckers, Alex Crane, an operations manager at Paige Logistics, a freight broker in British Columbia, told Bloomberg. As a result, some shipments are just sitting in warehouses. The US is set to impose similar rules on Jan. 22, which could worsen the cross-border food trade. (read more)
Freedom Convoy 2022 has raised over $625,000 [SEE HERE] to support a trucker protest, pay for fuel and cover the basic expenses of hundreds of truck drivers who are driving their rigs to Ottawa to rally for removal of the vaccine mandate.
“We are taking our fight to the doorsteps of our Federal Government and demanding that they cease all mandates against its people,” wrote Go Fund Me organizer Tamara Lich. “Small businesses are being destroyed, homes are being destroyed, and people are being mistreated and denied fundamental necessities to survive.”
The decision for Canadian truckers to meet in Ottawa to protest the vaccine mandate comes as the industry struggles with issues , such as disruptions to the supply chain and a shortage of drivers. The federal vaccine mandate could result in a loss of 12,000 to 16,000 cross-border commercial drivers, according to the Canadian Trucking Alliance.
“THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.
Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”
~ Thomas Paine
Amen! God bless those men and women!
I am seeing around the Internet today that the cargo backlog will take 3 months to sort out if they start now, but of course no one is going to start now, and I surmise it would take longer than 3 months anyway! Geek squad have all but cancelled repairs, they don’t have the parts. People are also discussing that cities are taking precedence for grocery deliveries. Naturally the cities would be first to riot!
Banks have stopped giving mortgages, and credit cards are being issued based on 10% of savings, is also what I have been reading. $100,000 savings equal to $10,000 credit card.
America is about to crash
Wow on the credit cards. That is not a good sign for any of us.
Frankly, and I hate to be so blunt, but if you have been credit dependant to maintain your lifestyle, you signed the papers that placed you in bondage.
I got off the credit-go-round over 20 years ago, and its the best move I ever made.
Its hard, at first to readjust your thinking, to living within your means.
But I look at those around me, who are being devastated by whats happening, and well,…it ain’t happening to me and mine.
I am 52 and have had my own credit card since 18. My parents taught me a very important thing: if, at the end of 30 days, you know you will not be able to pay off your credit card statement IN FULL EVERY MONTH, you don’t need what you are buying.
Heeding this advice, I have never carried a balance on my cc that I couldn’t pay off every month.
Not. Once. Other than a mortgage of $852/month, I’ve been debt free for two decades now.
Thank you, mom and dad!
Same background here. When my employer hinted the jab was required, I cut all spending down to the minimum and have been banking 80% of my take-home pay for my eventual departure.
I’m still there. They think I should jab or test and i think they should go f**k themselves. Seems we are at an impasse.
Not being a debt-slave means being free.
I’ve done the same. Have about 20 months of expenses saved.
I’m prepared for anything at this point.
me to
Just one bit of advice to add to the mix: in the first year of a mortgage, pay an additional $100/month minimum. This goes directly to principle. I cut a 15 year mortgage to 11 years 2 months by doing this. If you cannot do this, then you have bought more house than you can afford.
Another way of doing it is paying every two weeks half rounded up to the next 100. This way one gets in 13 payments per year. Just Saying.
Agree fully
I agree about being debt free, but for those that aren’t, there’s a bright side.
Currently about $14.88 trillion in American consumer debt. Think how this debt was encouraged by financial businesses and the Feds. Biden’s covid, fuel, environmental, and immigration policies are running this country into the ground.
About 28% of Americans have no savings and an estimated 38 million households in the U.S. live hand to mouth. Surprisingly, two-thirds of them earn a median income of $41,000, which puts them well above the federal poverty level. (Source: CreditDonkey)
So if American’s are hurt by Biden’s policies and vax mandates, it will boomerang back to the Feds (no tax revenue) and financial institutions in bed with Congress.
If a high rate of Americans file bankrupt, that’s going to hurt. Remember the real state bubble of 2006 and banks to big to fail?
When people don’t have money to pay basics (housing, food, utilities, transportation), prices for will go down.
Communists just print more money
Yes, the big banks who instituted the risk, and foisted huge price increases for property upon the public, did not fail. They were repaid, at our expense, 100 cents on the dollar. Additionally, they have achieved total control over the nation. In a generation home ownership in the U.S. will be zero, according to their plan, which is succeeding. They are not kidding when they predict you will own nothing. People cannot even afford automobiles any longer without strain. This is the armed robber advising you that you will be happier without your wallet and supporting him henceforth.
This is the lever being employed to annihilate representative government. To turn all our institutions against us. Why else do all of the great corporations, submit meekly to the Lesbian Gay Chamber of Commerce, and then create propaganda for the globalists to erode our families? Because if they do not they are denied access to credit and attacked in other ways. Our culture and society are being poisoned by the control of money.
Amen! Same here – only have a small mortgage; no other debt. It’s the only way.
I’m with you guys. No debt other than a small mortgage. Credit cards used for cash back advantages. My mom and dad took time to teach their children:
Pro 22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender.
We taught our Children the same! We have lived by that rule as well. In 48 years of marriage and raising our family, we have never once paid interest on a credit card. It can be done. Our kids were educated in private schools, way back before thee schools became woke. We worked hard and we saved, we did without. Our kids, now in their thirties, thank us frequently. It’s priorities! End of rant.
Yup. Me too. I paid interest on a credit card right out of college, newly married. Husband pointed out how that sweater on sale would end up costing a hell of a lot more if I paid just the minimum each month on the bill. Never did it again.
That is my policy. Period. Never, ever go over. But I am completely ready to go on cash if need be.
But what if cash is outlawed?
That’s their plan.
Wonder what would happen if half of us went back to paying cash for most things starting now….
no TV
no Credit cards
no bank account
place paid off
they must hate me !
I hope You are feeling Better , Dutchman 😊
But banks limiting one of their major money makers that much says they expect very bad times.
I’m with you Dutchman. Daddy taught us work, save spend.
Since I became an adult, I learned early on to put a certain amount of money every month out of my checking account into the saving account. AUTOMATICALLY…..I always have a backup if I run short. It has worked for me all the time, all these years. I only use a credit card and it gets paid off every single month. I forgot. I have $100 taken out each month from checking to savings….
Dutchman, with full respect to you and everyone that commented before and after you, your focus is in the wrong direction.
I am not suggesting anyone be fiscally irresponsible, or live beyond their means, or not purchase a home, or anything like that. My point is that, when the true economic crash happens, the economy will shift to barter. The banks will be closed and irrelevant, which means the person that used to have the mortgage payment will now have allodial title, by default. In more ways than one, chuckling. Car payments? no concern, you now own the car. Credit card debt? if the banks are defaulted, that is a zero. Utility bills? with no electricity? hope you have flashlights.
The potential for what is going to happen will make 1931 look like nothing. When will it happen? that is anyone’s guess, a lot of “experts” are surprised this didn’t happen over ten years ago.
Regardless, if people at the individual level don’t have tribe, or 3 am friends, or whatever descriptor could be used, they will be on the wrong side of the very steep learning curve.
Peace to all here, keep your eyes on Him.
I’m worried you’re right. Having played by the rules may actually be detrimental when the SHTF.
ps. We don’t currently have any cc debt but God knows we have. Surprise pregnancies, sick kids, unexpected repairs, etc. Life happens. Or at least it did to us.
Guess who IS “fiscally IRRESPONSIBLE”, spends”beyond their means”AND is one of the BIGGEST debtor? You got it right OOUR own government. Maybe they SHOULD lead by EXAMPLE!! Good luck with that.
Good point, Liberty ONE, if term limits and fiscal responsibility had been implemented 40 some years ago, among other things, society would most likely be different now. Regardless, we are where we are, and reality does not care what we think or want.
Cell phones will be down, get radios for your tribe. Rechargeable batteries, generator, fuel. The list is endless though.
Perhaps solar generators as fuel may be scarce.
Tangibles
Eggzactly
Where did you get this info about cessation of mortgages and credit cards equal to 10% of savings?
I just closed a refi mortgage at 2.3% fixed rate and paid $30 closing costs. My old loan balance was exactly the new loan amount, no closing costs “rolled into the loan.” I also just received a new credit card with a $10,000 credit limit, w/2% cash back anywhere I use it. I don’t have $100,000 in savings.
Banks have stopped giving mortgages, and credit cards are being issued based on 10% of savings, is also what I have been reading. $100,000 savings equal to $10,000 credit card.”
Source, please?
Banks have not stopped giving mortgages, nor any problems with credit cards. Stop promoting fake news.
You can bet that Turdeau will make sure his major voting base in Ontario and Quebec do not get adversely affected by the supply change shortages. Voters in Eastern and Western Canada, who voted Conservative in this last election, will suffer the most.
I’ve been spelling the name of your PM incorrectly! 🙂
I call him Justine Sparkly Socks Turdeau Castro.
Hunger has a way of focusing a people’s minds to the issues at hand … are you free or just a piece of the state’s chattel, subject to their hourly whims.
“It is amazing how much the prospect of being hanged in the morning, concentrates the mind, and focuses the thinking.
Unfortunately, what the mind concentrates and focuses on, is the prospect of being hanged in the morning!”
I bet that when the Canadians voted for these chumps they didn’t think it would ever adversely effect them. Stupidity is not a virtue it’s a choice and if you choose to be stupid you gotta be tough because it’s gonna hurt.
We do not have an electoral college. Ontario and Quebec have more ‘seats’ than the other 8 provinces and territories combined. The only 2 provinces that matter to the government are Ontario and Quebec.
It’s not Ontario as a whole, the Liberals target Toronto (GTA), Ottawa to Windsor corridor, all of Quebec, and a few other major population centers. Look at a map … Onatrio is mostly blue, only red around the big cities and some NDP in the North. They control the Metro vote, the immigrant vote and the University vote to cancel all of the middle class, rural and coastal areas … yes we need an electoral college to balance things out and give a voice to our version of “fly over country”.
I did NOT vote for these miserable liberals in Canada. Hardly anyone in Western Canada did. But remember that so many of us in Canada are no more responsible for this mess, than y’all are responsible for Brandon and company. Due to ridiculous election law, Trudeau got in with 32% of the vote. And no way that we can see to change it.
Good. Anyone who voted for Trudeau or took the vaxx has to live with the consequences. An awful lot of people seem to think they can force others to inject poison so those people can have the privilege of continuing to serve them.
If you were a nursing home worker, school bus driver, long-haul trucker, Carhart employee, Dillards employee, etc. why would you?
I think it will be hilarious when urban hipsters and lefty bougie virtue signalers learn that food doesn’t magically appear in their grocery stores or that fossil fuels are needed to heat their homes. Or that nobody wants to change grandpa’s diaper for you for 15 bucks an hour and all the death jabs they can take.
What is wrong with these people? “you get the gov’t you want, if you can keep it” This is not gonna work out for Trudeau we can all pray.
there’s little evidence it has harmed him.
Let us see the photographs of Trudeau eating at state dinners in the coming days.
Never in the history of mankind has so many nations been led simultaneously by so many buffoons
^^^^^ THIS!!!! ^^^^^
Amen, the whole world has gone crazy, or gone stupid, or gone evil.
Evil.
Not buffoons…traitors to their own people and countries. Intentional, purposeful treason.
Congrats
Kerry. Today you win the Internet!
He should do a vid. with a glimpse of what’s in his fridge and freezer.
Nancy Pelosi’s ice cream, I’m sure!
This is how it begins. This is completely unnecessary. First it will be animals suffering, then people.
https://nz.news.yahoo.com/truck-snarls-leave-pigs-feed-193512040.html
good point…yes, our animals need food too. Make this be known.
The fact that your suggestion, “Make this be known” is an appropriate suggestion is crazy-making as far as I’m concerned.
We are fully aware of the numbers of people in our lives who are going to start wailing and carrying on because they can’t find dog or cat food and will have absolutely ZERO understanding of how the absence of that is tied to the truckers being backed in a corner…..childish and silly. About 80% of people, it seems.
At the moment, I’m having trouble caring any more.
Animals are our food. I believe those are the animals most are concerned with. Dogs and cats at home will have to eat whatever the family has to feed them with.
drive the pigs to NYC and let them all go. there is PLENTY to feed on there.
Marie Antoinette said “Let them eat cake” and got handed her head………these government clowns and millionaires/billionaires/globalists think they are immune, that they are somehow protected in their bunkers and safe rooms……….how many action movies have we seen over the past 10-20 years where true patriots, everyday people from wherever they live………. take them out?
those action movies and social media are there primarily to substitute for us acting IRL.
its working wonders, too.
This whole regime pushed all their chips to the middle of the table after Trump won. There is a reason they are putting up 10 foot concrete walls around the white house.
When all this goes south, the un-jabbed will be blamed.
Bring it on, like I give a rats-ass. What I do know, everyone who has been “jabbed” has got Covid one way or another. They got to live with the “jab” and I don’t.
So true and they thought they were so smart. I had several people say to me”Hm, wonder where you are getting all this crazy information?” They will soon wish they knew where I got it.
Anybody who does that is evil, period!
Does it really matter un jabbed are be blamed for everything already. I just saw a talk show out of Quebec with children saying to call the police on un jabbed and more with parents and audience cheering them on.
A real life Jerry Springer show.
Vancouver Sun article w/ a bunch of Fascist Lefty comments:

Well at least the gta garbage will still get moved
Border crossing restrictions will affect weanling hogs being shipped from Manitoba to Iowa and Minnesota.
https://www.producer.com/news/trucker-restrictions-hit-manitoba-hog-industry/
By the way, the Western Producer is a newspaper that is focused on Canadian agriculture.
Throw them across the border into Minnesota. I’d love to pick them up and raise them to be big hogs we can butcher in the fall.
Federal Bureau of Intimidation
MAN-DATES is quite appropriate.
LOVE that they are picking up on FJB!
So do American truckers release their cargo after crossing the border?
There are no facilities nor even sufficiently open areas to accommodate that.
BTW, for those of you saying you get what you vote for to the Canadians… Did you get what you voted for? Don’t be shocked if those same evil machines took away their votes just like they did ours.
Exactly, that ticks me off when people do that. Do they not think there are elections problems there as well?
Agree 👍
Ive mentioned this before. It is a ridiculous mantra.
We should realize by now, no, they didn’t vote for that, leaders have been “placed” into
their positions. Even the “pope”.
I am in a free state with conservative values. Just visited local grocery. Milk 98% gone, no bananas, prices on berries through the roof.
Fort Collins here, was in the day old bread store today and it was bare. Cashier said the trucks have started returning empty from their grocery routes.
Was in Safeway last night @ 9p, many empty sections on shelves, not due to sales either.
It.Has.Begun.
Gosh. So scary. I used to live in Fort Collins when I was young and single (early 1970’s). Thanks for the report. Stay safe.
Tipping tipping tipping. This is bound to backfire. The ones this misguided government policy will hurt the most are the vaccinated compliant ones.
While none of us want to see food shortages….I’m so proud of these brave men and women willing to shut as much as they can down to protest this evil! It takes all of us not walking off the job in caving to their demands but standing up and fighting while we still can, legally, and peacefully but loudly to say we will not bow the knee to tyranny! Fight!
Just two days away for the American truckers. I was in two grocery stores today and both were still fairly well stocked. The sale ads are keeping some things at somewhat normal prices, some stuff is just crazy high w/shrunken packages, meat is off the chart. The Pringles can looks ridiculous. Keep the can and raise the price, but quit down sizing the ounces of stuff.
I am dreading it, I want this to be over and done with. It is getting old fast and hasn’t even really started yet.
Our Fauci
Who art in thy corner office
Give us this day our daily jab
That we might shed on our families and friends
And blame the unvaccinated
For our blot clots, heart attacks and strokes
Thine spike protein is the glory
For a life expectancy of 3.7 more years
Amen
The Richard Syrett Show has covered this topic and is a good grassroots conservative source for what is going on in Canada in general.
https://www.spreaker.com/show/richard-syrett-show
It isn’t relevant to this post, but he also does a good paranormal/offbeat show called the Conspiracy Show.
Let’s go Justin…
I am a strict believer of use of credit cards for convivence only. Neve buy more than you can cover at the end of the month.
There is another credit card advantage I recommend. That is request raising your credit card borrowing limit even though you do not use it. Two things happen by doing so; You now have the ability to handle a catastrophic emergency and you now raised your credit ability when purchasing a large item such as a car, home improvement, deposit when buying a home. etc.
as an example;
Lets say over time you have raised your credit card limit to $100,000 and you purchase a $60,000 car. The dealer usually has a 3-day period before you can take the car off the lot. You give them the credit card with a $100,000 limit and they immediately let you take the car.
There are example after example periodically request raising your credit card limit benefits you. So many people do not understand this and it is too bad. Because in the eyes of anyone you do business, your large credit card-limit is seen as an asset. The caveat is you have to have the discipline to always payoff your credit card bill at the end of every month.
I have done this for myself and other people I know. All are thankful because they have enjoyed the benefit creating an asset they were unaware. You do it in increments. I do it by calling my credit card company and bumping my credit card limit to the max . I then wait awhile and repeat bumping it again until I know I have increased my borrowing asset to my needs. It is how to to increase your assets effortlessly.
Wait, eventually meager supplies of food will be handed out by the government, but only after they show their vaccination card. Starve you to submission.
As I have said, “My Freedom begins on the outside of your mask.”
I lost a big chunk when the Market crashed just prior to a presidential election. Of course the DEM won. I was always suspicious of the timing and still am. I was convinced that the Dems were involved in the crash and everyone thought I was nuts. I am more convinced now more than ever after what I perceive they are deliberately doing concerning the so called covid which I believe they were involved in. Maybe I am just paranoid. I currently am considering pulling any savings out of the bank and keeping cash. Does anyone have any ideas as to the pros and cons of doing this
Perhaps they have room for FJB on the side of that truck along with F Trudeau! There is a reckoning coming.
As I compare the tyranny of Canada and Australia; one fact glares out at me. Canada has lots of guns. Australia pusillanimously gave theirs up.
Well…Trudeau was re-elected, they expected something different?
Unfortunately, Biden was elelected in the U.S. However, I don’t expect the people of this country will make that mistake again.
The sad thing was that anybody other than those who profit from democrat regimes 9already knew what to expect from this corrupt, lying, creepy man.
Kroger had milk last week .87 1/2 gallon. $1.94 gallon.
$3.09 per Liter Toronto. Trodolt restricts milk imports and also restricts and regulates production.
Punish growing kids.
What truckers need to understand is that they have far more power than most other professions in that everything depends on the goods they deliver. A general trucker strike on both sides of the border would gather a LOT of attention, right away.
Canada is discriminating against US truckers.
Where is Mayor Petey on this?
Breastfeeding.
yup, and twins are very time consuming.
Does anyone know how the twins were acquired?
I hear tell Petey Boy wants more children. **gag**
It’s about to get worse.

Everything else being equal, it IS, after all, the Toronto “Red Star”.
To paraphrase a famous line from a movie. “Never go Toronto Red Star”.
Canada’s leftover, burnt-out, hippie generation losers hoping to resurrect the bolshevik revolution, with their own editions of “Pravda”.
Ultimately, a laughable poor man’s version of The National Enquirer…
