I do not know how better to emphasize the points other than to be direct and brutally honest. Sometimes you just have to call the baby ugly. The window to prepare for the incoming crisis of our lifetime is now down to two weeks. Hopefully, that is specific enough.
As we have discussed on these pages, the interventionist policies and regulations from the people creating the COVID response (writ large) have been fubar from the beginning. {Go Deep} When they shut down the restaurants and hospitality sector (2020 lockdowns), the advisors and bureaucrats triggered a cascading series of events inside the food supply chain {Go Deep}.
Every policy implementation since then has made matters worse {Go Deep}
Adding to the supply chain and inflation crisis, in about a week the vaccine mandate and subsequent commercial passport means 30,000 cross border truckers are about to get shut down from operating between the United States and Canada.
“70% of the 700 billion in trade between Canada and the US is moved by truck. This will have a dramatic effect on supplies and services reaching their destination and getting in the hands of those who need them. One needs to look no further than the recent UK fuel shortage, where the military had to be brought in to deliver fuel as a result of a lack of truck drivers. We are already seeing shortages, if these shortages reach critical levels on items such as fuel, food, blood, medicine or medical supplies, we will see real long-lasting damage.”
~ Mike Milliam, President of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada
As noted by those following the issue(s) closely: “Starting January 15th, 2022, truckers must show a proof of vaccine to cross the Canada/US borders. Since March 2020, drivers were considered “essential”. They could cross the border without a covid test or the vaccine. Under Biden/Trudeau administration, this is about to change”:
22 000 truckers are about to lose their job. But this estimate is from the Canadian Trucking Association. The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) estimated this number closer to 31 000 truckers.
We are looking at a meltdown of the supply chain, or at least some severe disruption.
Get everything you need now. Inflation is about to get real. (read more)
CTH readers are already well versed in the domestic side of this issue {Go Deep}. When you overlay the USMCA aspect and recognize the critical sectors of the North American economy that are reliant upon each other; and when you realize that no one outside of the blue collar crews who have specific expertise in applying commonsense to this equation are talking about it, then you begin to realize what is obviously about to hit, and yet all will claim they never saw it coming.
We have approximately two weeks left. After that, I genuinely do not know what things will look like…. but I do know it will not be good. We are in very uncharted and unstable waters.
Act as if… or be acted upon. Ultimately, this appears to be our choice right now.
If we are wrong, then we will breathe a sigh of relief. However, if we are correct….
….. FUBAR!
Just made a big trip to the grocery store for staples. Will go again early next week. Shelves pretty well stocked at an HEB Plus.
Beans and Rice?
Don’t forget food for you animals and pets.
Also fishing line, hooks, lures etc and shotgun shells in case you need another source of food.
Oh my goodness whatever you do don’t forget about them dogs and cats
All them hungry pets
I feed the local birds in the yard too.
We just had a nasty snow storm and every time I walked outside the birds were sqawking at me wanting more seed. It was quite something.
Yes. And paper items. And things to freeze. And some canned goods. Light bulbs and air filters, too. A few toiletries that were hard to find in 2020 panic months. All of those are not “staples”, but things we must have that we use all if the time.
Light bulbs! When the govt decided incandescent bulbs must go I went to Menards and bought a whole cart full of every kind in our house. Looking back I may have to live to 120 to use them all. Will be several boxes of these antiques at our estate sale!
I did the exact same thing. I still have a storage bin full of them and it’s been a decade ish.
We were w/out electricity for four days last week, I have two refrigerator freezers filled mostly w/meat, I don’t own a generator. Praise God that the meat stayed rock frozen, the stuff in the refrigerator went bad, but I was happy I didn’t lose all my meat. Freezing is great, until it isn’t.
Probably be a good time to reconsider your decision not to own a generator. I own two of them. My biggest shortfall will be gasoline. I own 4 vehicles. I do my levelheaded best to keep them full of gas at all times. I can always syphon gas out of a vehicle to run my generators. Those restrictors in the gas tank filler necks will be no obstacle, I’ll rip them out. That, or I will remove the gas tank and access my gasoline. I have a well equipped shop with a 7K lb hoist to facilitate that. I realize that I am a bit better positioned to last out a sharp shortage of stuff but I have been planning for this type of emergency for decades.
Staples are things you must have that you use often.
That’s a good combo but if dry don’t forget you’ll need water to cook. I am a peanut butter fan. It’s calorie dense and ready to go.
Also peanut butter won’t screw with your glycemic index. If you eat just plain rice make sure you have some oil (preferably coconut) to add to it so your sugar doesn’t go bananas.
Good to know.
Luke is spot on. Check out my posts above about coconut oil. I can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for something for the supply closet. And it’s something you can start using now before a SHTF scenario. Great for baking and frying, especially tortillas (something you should learn how to make now… just in case)
It’s funny you mention that. Coconut oil and rice are HUGE parts of my SHTF plan since coconut oil lasts forever, packs in calories, has a bunch of other homeopathic uses, and is cheap ($12 for 102oz at BigLots)- I cook with it all of the time in place of butter, and though I still use butter, it’s a great substitute. I probably have about 10 big jars of it. Extremely versatile. Seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, sazon, etc) is cheap and while I won’t eat like a king, I’ll be eating. While you can’t eat the coconut oil straight, that $12 jar packs 24,000 calories. That’s a $1 per day’s caloric intake.
Anyways, one day I’m reading and researchers were saying that cooking rice with coconut oil, letting the rice sit overnight in the fridge, then eating it, reduces the body’s ability to break it down and absorb all of the calories. Awesome for a diet. Not great in a survival situation. Just found it interesting since you seem to have the same plan as me…. lol. Here’s the article about it…. https://www.bulletproof.com/recipes/low-carb/low-carb-carbs-hack-your-rice-with-coconut-oil-recipe/
I usually go the office supply store for staples….
Ha! They do stock bottled water, though.😋
And lunchroom snacks. Water and junk food to last until the spring planting is ready to harvest.
As you do what you can, to stock up on food, think about TRANSPORTATION.
Buying enough oil for at least 2 oil changes, with filters is a great investment.
Your car needs an oil change, every 3000 miles or so, and that includes new filter.
Putting it off cause you can’t afford it or can’t GET it, and continueing to drive, OVER TIME will render your car undrivable.
Many major auto repairs are because relatively minor repairs weren’t promptly addressed, which leads to major repairs.
An example would be brake SHOES, which is a consumable part, needing periodic replacement.
Don’t replace it promptly, when it wears out and you start to hear metal grinding, and you soon need to replace rotors or drums.
An extra set of brake shoes, specific to your vehicle, ordered now and put aside, may be a valuable investment, as they may be simply “unavailable” when your car needs them.
Will keep that in mind—good suggestions.👍🏻
Dutchman, good suggestions about oil, filters, brakes, etc. Good synthetic oils, e.g., Castrol Edge, excellent and very reasonably priced, good for 5000-7000 between changes.
Mobil One, good for 10,000 miles. Change filter and top off at 5,000. With Sleepy Joes gas prices that are coming 10K will take quite a while to accrue.
Don’t forget wiper blades–have one full set on hand for passenger, driver, and rear window (if applicable). Also: wiper fluid–have a couple gallons on hand. I usually keep a couple air filters and cabin filters on hand, as well.
clean your blades with wd-40, works like a champ
Question for you.
HEB does have their own little system going, (shrimp boats, cattle, etc) which I think will help short term, but they won’t last long.
So, do you think it will buy us a few extra weeks?
I’m wondering whose land gates bought here in TX.
I can’t imagine S.A. When this occurs.
Remember during that hurricane, the hoarding of gas in trash cans and such?
SATX will be a total disaster
Thought about talking to the mngr. when I was there, but thought he’d probably say they were doing fine—just to avert panic.
Dang.
My cousin knows the heb mgr on Tezel. (Probably a wokester)
I’ll try to work that angle and get back to you.
I’m at the coast. Quietly stocking up my mom. (90)
Back soon.
That POS Bill Gates is buying up Arizona.
He and his ilk are buying swathes of farm and ranchland nationwide, if not globally.
They intend to control what we eat.
If we eat at all.
Natural food will be excusively for their big club.
And we ain’t in it.
Gates…….land…….crops……..> CCP. FBG.
Billy Bob Gates of Hell owns 275,000 acres out of 900 millon acres of US farmground. Lots of hype, nothing else.
He wants you to eat “healthy.” And get the vaccine while you eat.
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210916/Researchers-aim-to-develop-edible-plant-based-mRNA-vaccines.aspx
This is really spooky when he’s the largest farmland holder/owner in the country!
I did my stock up at HEB yesterday. Meat and produce were normal. Milk cases were empty, except for a full case of whole milk. Paper aisle 3/4 empty-only 2 packages toilet paper. Pet aisle 75% full. No bleach at all, but other cleaners seemed fine. Out of the usual whole large case of “gourmet” cheeses, there was almost none. Other processed, shredded cheese was normal. The clerk volunteered: You’re not the first person stocking up today.
Sent Walmart cards to 2 family members who live paycheck to paycheck if they promised to stock up on frozen and pantry staples.
There are several good websites that have “recipes from pantry stables that I used to help me make a shopping list. Praying for our country.
Nice of you to send the Wal-Mart cards. I am sure it is appreciated.
I have a few wealthy friends that don’t have a clue about prepping, from time to time I try to slide in a few helpful tips but they believe they will never need to be prepared.
The left wing buy your food daily folks will go into a complete panic. Unfortunately those are the folks lately who have been arming up. They won’t have much ammo so they will run out quickly as the govt. will shut off supplies.
Went to HEB today, pretty well depleted across the board. Going again next week. Isn’t looking good, except for produce which is mostly from here
What city?
What city?
Shopped for groceries this morning. Only pasta was in short supply and little to be seen on the shelves. I suppose a precursor for the deliberately created crisis to come.
Only in God is my soul at rest
Do we trust in God, the Almighty or not?
THAT IS THE QUESTION.
God is still sovereign over all His creation!
He is! Amen!
I’ll trust in God that he gave me a brain to prepare for emergencies. IMHO there are too many Christians that are complacent trusting in God. Trust in God to direct YOUR path. I think that’s found in Proverbs….
Yes, along the lines of this story….
One day it began to rain very heavily. It kept raining and a big flood came.
The man climbed up on the roof of his house, and knew that he would be ok. God would protect him.
It kept raining and now the water had reached his waist. A boat came by and a guy in the boat said: “Hey, jump in. We will take you with us”.
“No thanks”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me”. He sent the boat away.
It kept on raining and now the water had reached his neck. Another boat came by and a guy in the boat said: “You look like you could need some help. Jump in and we will take you with us”.
“No”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me. Don’t worry about me”. The boat sailed away.
It still rained and the water now reached his mouth. A helicopter came by and a guy in the helicopter threw down a rope and said: “Hi there my friend. Climb up. We will rescue you”.
“No”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me. I know he will”. The helicopter flew away.
It kept on raining, and finally the man drowned.
When the man died, he went to heaven. When entering Heaven, he had an interview with God.
After giving a polite greeting and sitting down, the man asked: “Where were you. I waited and waited. I was sure you would rescue me, as I have been a firm believer all my life, and have only done good to others. So where were you when I needed you?”
God scratched his confused looking face and answered: “I don’t get it either. I sent you two boats and a helicopter”.
One of the best and most instructive.
I tell this story quite frequently to family, friends and fans. God does intend for us to get off our duffs to help ourselves! And, others! Thanks for sharing!
And remember: God told Joseph in a dream that there would be seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. So what did Joseph do? All of Egypt went into overdrive producing and storing food (as well as you could in ancient times) for seven years. When the seven years of famine came, Egypt’s neighbors starved, but Egypt fared well.
God provides and doesn’t NEED our help to save us, but many times, he wants our PARTICIPATION and gives us the means to do so.
Yes, and many are not about to part with their precious money and do what is right. Bad choices bring on hard times.
Proverbs has much to say about the sluggard and his ways.
Old story but rings even truer today as we face uncertain times against the dregs of Satan and his minions.
Commit your ways to the Lord and He will make your paths straight. Prov 3:6, Psalm 38:5-7
All things work for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His Purpose. Rom 8:28
Psalm 91 – ALL OF IT!!!
To GOD be the GLORY!
The times we live in are exemplified by David in Psalms 30 through 39. Easy morning read that will bring up your confidence in God during unsettled times.
I have spoken to believers in our church about stocking up and planning. They look at me like I just crawled out from under a rock. They will be on their own sitting on their money bags with nothing to spend it on.
Been down that road before. Not only have I tried to educate the individuals but the churches themselves need to have a few supplies tucked away. There will be times when the SHTF people may need to be taken care of in the church building, but nope, I am crazy. “We can just go to Wal-Mart”.
I will not fear. I trust in the Lord completely. I am at peace. Take heart treepers, this will all work out. Always remember FOR HIS WILL be done on earth and it is in heaven. Believe!
And be prepared!
…like Joseph in Egypt.
Sorry, Shelley, I didn’t see your post before I wrote mine above.
God provides ammo, beer and MREs because He loves us and wants us to be happy.
Stock up bigly.
I once was told that “fear was the sin of disbelief”. There’s a reason that “fear not” appears so often in the Bible. God knew we would need the reassurance. Stand strong, friends, and may our God bless and keep you and yours.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and a sound mind. I Timothy 1:7
I trust Him completely. Humans not so much.
God is called a crutch by those who hate him. He is not my crutch, for a sinner such as I he is a well stocked ambulance. I thank him every day for his goodness. Come quickly Lord Jesus!
You want to break China Joe, just have the Truckers unite and go on strike for 2 weeks. The D Rat cities will look like a war zone when the ghetto rats can’t buy food with their EBT cards.
The EBT crowd are people too. They have been conditioned to be dependent and will act as such. That being said, this group is perhaps the most dangerous, as they neigh demand that others will provide for them.
Ayn Rand had a great short essay on this. The Virtue of Selfishness. She advocated NEVER engaging in altruism because once you can’t appease the recipient, they DEMAND, often at gunpoint.
Even more simply…. If you want to do them a favor, you teach them to fish, not give them fish.
I always heard that you don’t feed the wildlife.
Its good practice Otherwise they lose, or forego, the ability to fend for themselves. Much, as we know, like government dependents.
Works well for people who dont mind telling Jesus to mind His own business.
Yeah, I learned a valuable lesson in Austin in 1985 when I first moved there from Lubbock.
Played music a a local bar, took a break and a guy with long hair and beard asked for a dollar for a cup of coffee and pointed to the 7-11 right next door. Being the West-Texas redneck rube I was at the time, I reached into my pocket to give him a couple of bucks. As I was pulling out a small wad of cash, the bum grabbed my fingers and ripped the cash out of my hand and ran off. I had to go back and play the next set.
It made me realize that those “Bums” on the street were just simply bums, alkies, druggies, etc.
In fact they did several exposes on the bums sitting on the street corners while we lived in Austin. Many went home to houses at night. They evidently were making enough money to pay their mortgages.
Now, the tent cities in Austin have exploded and are totally out of control. I truly think these folks like that lifestyle.
Former Lubbockite myself
And I.
They like the NO BOSS part. Losers everyone.
No responsibilities, no bills to pay, other than worrying about your safety from time to time, what’s not to like?
That is what a homeless man once told me. Summer months he goes North, winter months goes South. To be fair he didn’t panhandle, he read Tarot cards for a donation. He was actually very good at it, told some great stories, was very polite, and had a certain kind of charm about him. He told me he had tried the shelters, various programs, and other systems in place for the homeless, and he simply couldn’t handle their rules. He said the gov’t people were crazier than he was. He was a Vietnam Vet. I hope wherever he is he is doing well.
How is scamming better than begging?
She has a short book by that title too. Maybe the same thing you’re referring to.
D Rat cities. Zombielands in the making.
I’m thinking about 4-5 days should do it.
I once read that urban area distribution centers only keepnon hand no more than seven days supply of foods and other goods.
3 to 5 tops. When panic sets in, even less. Look out suburbs. The ones who don’t get shot will head out across country. Ammo up!
Might decimate the rat problems in some of the larger sewercities.
Well, for those who have been diligently manning the wall, if we are wrong then only we will know it.
Reverse migration as a number of Mexicans go back to Mexico where food supply is available at a cost they can afford.
Still would be stuck with millions of third world grifters who wont find it as easy to return to their roots.
It won’t lbe the last time we have prepped up and not needed it, we are happy to be wrong!
Yes. Better to have and not need than need and not have!
Forewarned is forearmed. Thank you, Sundance for keeping your eye on the ball.
And if you’re wrong? We’ll all breathe a sigh of relief. But the way things are, I suspect these engineered shortages have been just the preamble. Better safe than sorry.
As an aside, your track record on being right is second to none.
I have long “stocked up” on things I KNOW I will use, anyway.
Hence, its like instead of putting $ in a savings acct, where the interest is negligible, and can’t keep up with inflation, I store extra fuel, and food that I pay the lower price for, so effectively it DOES keep up with inflation.
I do the same where we can afford it, which means standing in grocery store aisles doing a lot thinking and adding up. And I’ve been doing it for months now, having looked far far down the wretched road we find ourselves on.
The way I approach it is thinking what, if I couldn’t get it, would cause annoyance or even hardship. It’s not a bad way to strategize spending a limited income.
Using logic in these times! Must be a hard line kinda person. Good job!!!
😊…I am…very.
Goodaye Betsy, per my above post , all around the world the supply chains are being “hit” , it is starting to be visible here now, the biggest concern though are the farmers as the general annual price to run a farm has risen 30-40 % talk is many of the smaller farmers 1-10 thousand acres won’t be putting in winter crops.
These crops are mostly for domestic markets .
Watch for the same scenario there as their game plan doesn’t differ much.
Will scoot over OT say boo!
Cheers.
You made think of Rhodesia & SA with the western installed Black Democratic racist government purposely allowing/not stopping farm attacks and murdering or ethnically cleansing the white farm families and their workers, and than nothing grows or is not productive anymore because the terrorists do not how to farm.
Many of the farm animals are abandoned including pets. There is a rescue group who braves attacks from these communist racist murderers to save the abandoned animals. But you got me thinking again, of shorting the food supply in zim & Sa to kill off or push to Europe? the blacks there.
I remember that, Colkitto as you and I briefly discussed. It was grotesque. I could barely read the Telegraph in Britain, then an exceptional news source under the auspices of Lord Black who now contributes to American Greatness
No reader was spared the gruesome stories. In the end I knee what was going on and could read no further. Let’s earnestly pray their end is not where we’re headed. I know it seems fanciful that it could even happen here. But a year ago or so, no one would have for seen Stalinist America either.
It absolutely can happen anywhere.
You’re so right. But we as Americans seem to feel insulated from such “foreign” happenings. As if we were watching a television program. Safe in our beds. We are being disabused of that notion right now.
Ancient Chinese curse. May you live in interesting times. They arrived November 3, 2020 and will likely be here till the tribulation is finished. Hope not but time will tell all.
Indeed it will. No one but God knows. Keep your faith strong.
Yes Colkitto, I as the boss employed a white South African in NT many years ago, he was seeking asylum here as the “blacks” had a contract out on him , I helped him out to the best of my abilities.
I don’t consider myself stupid so I can say this bloke was well above average intelligence.
We ended up doing more talking than working some days! He explained all the ins and outs of the problem.
His Family were large land farmers and this bloke was a game warden assigned by government to “hunt” poachers , the story’s he told are fascinating many unprintable here.
When we got into the political angles by swapping knowledge we both came to the conclusion that the culprits were the same we have today and the methods used were the same in an historical context.
Me thinks you are correct, the influx of invaders all over the western world is a two filtered problem , the first being to segregate WHITE people and the second for violence against whites when they purposely break the system, using whites as scapegoats of course.
Without being racist everybody with half a brain knows that the “imports” have the intelligence of a brick and can easily be realied upon to do their masters bidding.
So yes I do think the South African model is in play.
Looking forward to your reply .
Cheers.
Looking at BoJo and his inept Home Secretary making all the right noises about illegals from Africa overwhelming Dover, how they “must be stopped” but aren’t. Then we have Macron pretending to have his little political pantomime of outrage with BoJo. Yes, it’s all just a bit transparent. Our southern border and secret distribution of illegals marries up with all this.
I’ll stop now as this isn’t the topic. But I’ve been observing for quite a while and absolutely agree.
I have a friend who was born and raised in Rhodesia and then had to leave for South Africa but now is a recent American citizen. She calls the Black people there ‘consumers’. Yea
Good seeing you, my dear friend. It’s bad here as well farming wise. Fertilizer etc exorbitant and/or unavailable. We can see the
intended end game per Gates et al. And yes, we are all I suspect looking that far ahead. That pure raw evil walks this earth through unholy acolytes is not in dispute.
Hi son, before long we may have to live off the land, in OZ and here. It’s the king’s deer but the king can KMA.
Cheers
🕶
Goodaye Pop, certainly the Kings steak will go first here for sure, some famous last words I believe “let them eat cake” well that didn’t work out to well 😜
Funny how our self proclaimed illustrious leaders don’t read history !
👍!!
T’was brioche!
May have to change my screen name to Robin of Loxley 🙂
😂
If it is pre-engineered, the timing would be calculated to make sure most of the country is months from being able to grow their own food. Maybe buying seed makes sense.
While it would be for some with the area to do it, and there are those who do and manage lovely produce, I’m not sure our city folk would be able to, unless they use containers. Even then there would be limits to what they could grow in those. I believe I read somewhere seeds are becoming scarce. I don’t know how much truth there is in that.
If you buy seeds, do look for fertilizer as well. That according to all I’m reading is in short supply.
Compost is better than fertilizer. And anyone can make it with yard and kitchen scraps.
👍
Do it quick as they will be in high demand and short supply. My ground won’t even sprout a seed it is so poor. Top 3 feet are subsoil from a boat ramp 80 feet deep in a bank. Can you say STERILE?
Two weeks before we reach uncharted territory and not only is this country stuck with an illegitimate administration. But to add insult to injury, it’s also the most unqualified in history. This administration as a whole isn’t qualified to run the smallest state, never mind the country. Incompetence or by design, this great country needs and deserves better.
They’re not qualified to organize a one car parade! That’s why I call it the DAA – Dumb Ass Administration.
Are you sure it is all by design? I wonder how inept one can really be… more and more the morasses seem pre-determined …backing into desired conclusions is the government way.
I expect that behind all this an Infernal hand is at the helm.
The devil has ben turned loose for his last hurrah before being chained in the abyss. Good ridance!
Another question: Is the plan changing to accommodate changing circumstances. For example, would a SCOTUS decision banning Covid mandates create the need for more drastic distractions from the emerging picture that the vaccines are killing people?
The Biden Admin may be totally clueless, but someone (Intel) is executing plans.
If the court strikes down mandates I am sure they will put another plan in place in days. They are powerful and vicious and intend to put in the NWO.
Best line of the day, “one car parade”! 😁
These people couldn’t run a McDonalds.
The Transportation Fairy could run a Gerbil Training Center, that would be about it
That pervert Buttlick is openly flaunting child abuse. Everything about him is pathetic. Maybe he should go on family medical leave again. At least he can’t make things worse when he’s not around
Even that would be above his ability.
These people couldn’t successfully run a corner lemonade stand.
Successfully running our Republic into the ground is what they were installed to do.
I suppose they are doing exactly what they have been put there to do.
They are doing the will of their father the Devil. But remember, they can do nothing without the permission of God. It is obvious that judgment lies at the door.
Every time I think I’ve pegged the dumbest person in the cabinet/administration, someone else speaks up
Thank you Sundance.
Us “preppers” have been screaming from the rooftops to be prepared. I’m thankful that I got my adult children onboard, so now I know they will be able to weather the storm. The common phrase has been “stack it to the rafters”.
Now, for anyone who is just now realizing how serious this is, don’t freak out. You can get stocked up relatively quickly, in a few days, relatively inexpensively. You need to utilize every grocery store at your disposal: Costco, Walmart, Dollar General, local grocery stores – chains and independents. You need to buy as many 25-50lbs (fall back on 10lb bags if you need to) of basic staples as you can: rice, beans, peas, lentils, flour. PAY CASH if you can and don’t use a rewards card and don’t clean out any one store. If you can’t purchase a side of beef or half a pig, go to every store on your list and buy a few whole chickens at each place – you can stretch those chickens into numerous meals. You will need fats: olive oil, shortening, canola oil, butter. If you’ve got freezer space, get frozen veggies – lots. If that’s not feasible go buy canned fruits and vegetables. You’re going to need basic stuff, like sugar, yeast, baking powder, spices. If you have pets, you need to stock up for them too.
But, before you go out and shop, do some quick calculations based on your family size. Search for “Mormon food calculator” and this will give you a good idea of the volume you need for just a year.
This is not a drill y’all.
OK for curiosities sake. What’s the problem with a Rewards card?
I am a student of history. One of the first things regimes do is claim that everything you own, belongs to them. They’ll call you a hoarder and they’ll take your stuff and divvy it up. If you pay cash and don’t use a rewards card, or phone number, or zip code or name, there’s no way to track you and what you’ve purchased. Just sayin’. If you really want to be careful, shop in a neighboring county where no one knows you.
Tracker. They know you bought xyz.
They know everything you bought when you use it.
The problem with a Rewards card is that all purchases on it can be traced, and if they start looking for “hoarders” you could be setting yourself up for some problems you would rather not have.
Tracks your purchases. How much of any item above normal usage.
Tracking!!!
I’ve always found this site below to be a great resource. The guy running it links a lot to his own amazon store, so he benefits from that. I don’t begrudge him because he’s doing the work to host and organize it all and do the articles, etc. Nobody has to use amazon, you can search out brands and order things other ways. The info is great, though. There are formatted searches in the menu, too.
https://modernsurvivalblog.com
There are some things I have to buy on Amazon because it’s the only source I could find for some products. Lindell is trying to set something up but he is not quite there yet.
STOP HOARDING.
I cannot think of anything more unChristian than taking food from childrens’ plates to save yourself instead.
There have been generations upon generations of people who NEVER stepped into a grocery store and survived. We all need each other NOW. Each of us has skills. We must depend on each other to get through this mess and indeed, CORRECT THIS MESS at whatever cost it might be.
You have obviously never been through a crisis. It’s not hoarding to ensure your family stays fed. Let’s see if your attitude changes after 48 hours without eating.
Growly belly syndrome is not fun. Stock up a few months worth (3 or so) till the worst shakes out and you can form alliances and groups and make plans for the future. Several areas close to me you will not want to venture into as the folks in that area already have alliances set up and they are all superior snipers. 1000 feet shots are easy for them. Us country folk will survive if anyone does. Proverbs 21:31 For the horse is prepared against the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord.
Umm… its called stock up while there’s plenty. That takes from no one.
“I cannot think of anything more unChristian than taking food from childrens’ plates to save yourself instead.”
Aside from your making an assumption, some of us can afford to stock up AND then be in position to provide for those who will not be prepared.
Yes, Phflipper. There are people who will no doubt do just this. We are all fighting a common enemy. Both an earthly one and a spiritual one as well.
So my kid should not have any so somebody else’s kid does? PREPARING is not hoarding.
Remember the fable of the ant and the grasshopper?
Or the parable of the wise and foolish virgins?
It’s on others to prepare. If they don’t, too bad. If I know they are in need and they couldn’t do any better, I will help. I will not telegraph to any that I have anything extra because humans descend to jungle status when things go pear shaped.
Mum is the best word. Hungry and cold people return to beasts if pushed far enough. And our government will push as hard as they can.
You’re wrong. Survival of the fittest will always win out, and if you turn the other cheek, they will hit you in that one too!
Every grasshopper considers himself a victimized ant.
Prepping is not stealing from anybody.
Defending one’s hard-earned preps, acquired through self-denial during easier times, is our right.
We can help grasshoppers out of charity, but we owe them NOTHING.
“If you let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up. That’s why we’re going back!”
-Hopper (Bugs Life)
I agree. Better to die than lose your soul ! But stocking up is wise. I intend to share with neighbors. I have chickens for eggs, and a large stock of wheat stored in their barn. . That wheat, and my hand cranked flour mill, can make bread for many people. And if they are hungry they will turn the crank !
It’s a mistake to look at potential preparations as an either/or decision. It is not that.
I know a farmer that has around 50,000 herd of cattle.
And you should be good friends with him.
Until they find out you have extra and become insanely jealous (WHY does X have and I don’t? NOT FAIR!!!). You know what follows. Playing the gracious, magnanimous patron is not for these times, friend.
The line might be 10 miles wide, not long as they clean you out. Panicked people are dangerous.
The bad actors intending to sabotage the supply chain are depending upon panic and horde buying to make their sabotage more effective.
Remember this.
Don’t become what you say you hate. Don’t facilitate the worst intensions of our adversaries.
🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 (Me, rolling my eyes, thinking WTH???)
So if you have no food, and your neighbors have no food how exactly do you “depend on each other” and “CORRECT THIS MESS?’ Asking for my Christian neighbor.
While I understand your thought, you might need to read the story of Joseph in Genesis. There are absolutely God honored times to prepare for hard times. There are probably some that go overboard, but having lived through weeks of no power and empty shelves after a hurricane, making sure your pantry is full is just being a good steward with what God has blessed you with, especially if you are then able to share with others.
So? Joseph was a hoarder?
A seven year supply surely could be called a hoard I do suppose.
I cannot think of anything more unChristian than taking food from childrens’ plates to save yourself instead.
From beginning to end, God’s word instructs fathers to take care of their wives and children. He instructs the believer to honor their mother and father. Refusal to be prepared is refusal to honor and follow God’s word. If someone refuses to be prepared it’s not the believer’s responsibility to refuse their own preparedness.
Just because everyone else might be stupid, doesn’t mean the believer should be also.
Did you see the price of baking soda! $15 a pound!
I take that back. It was a very cheeky listing on Amazon! I almost fell off my chair when I saw it!
That would be an eye opener. I use soda a lot in cleaning things and just bought 30 pounds.. With some corn meal I can have corn cakes and beans for quite a while. Yummy!
I looked at the Mormon food calculator. Thanks for suggesting it but I definitely don’t eat like a Mormon if that’s what they buy. I don’t remember the last time I bought flavored gelatin or powdered drink and I eat a lot more that 4 pounds of peanut butter in a year. That said, it’s a good checklist guide to get those who need it started
Preserving isn’t just for end of harvest season. Get those canners and dehydrators going!
Canned beef, pork, bacon, turkey and chicken are still in abundance at good prices. Keystone, Yoders and other brands. Corned beef hash, roast beefhash and sausage hash, Mary Kitchen by Hormel are excellent. Armour hashes are no go. .awful Nasa pack bacon available for the deep of pocket folks. 10 year shelf life with no refrigeration. Check Amazon to see what is available. Buy it elsewhere if you don’t like Mr. Bezos. Pleasnathillgrain.com has lots of pepper items. MRE.COM Many others willing to help you out!
I-84, through the Columbia Gorge in Oregon, is closed because of snow and landslides, periodically and for days at a time (through the last week). All of Oregon’s supplies that are not local come by truck or train via CA or MT/ID. The train tracks parallel the freeway through the Gorge.
Hwy 101 on the coast has lots of closures right now as well, due to flooding from lots of rain and snowmelt.
I-5 seems ok for now, at least until northern CA. Lots of snow happening there.
These things are not necessarily significant in themselves but it seems that most of the everyday obstacles that always can occur will become force multipliers in a very, very damaging way.
One year ago, gas was $1.25/gal here. It’s now hovering just below $4.
They never ever want us to have cheap energy again. That’s why China Joe’s billionaire puppetmasters had the weekend at Bernie Sanders Fish Camp corpse shut down the Pipeline.
Sam Chu, Obama Energy Secy, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels of Europe”.
They figured it out.
Biden EO that vehicles to be 40-50% electric by 2030.
He sees the USA as being carbon neutral by 2050.
Stop leases on Federal lands for gas production. Stop the Keystone Pipeline.
Simply put, electric cars are not what they want us to have. No car is what they want us to have, at least the few of us that are left. There is not enough elemental metals in the world to make all,the batteries and other things this pipe dream would require. See the Georgia Guide Stones for the NWO ten commandments. 13 out of 14 current residents on the third rock from the sun are to disappear under their plan. It is a small club and we are not invited to join.
I made an agregious error in my last sentence up there….gas was $2.25/gal one year ago—not 1.25.
Close enough for government statistics!
😂 and true!
People just must wake the f*ck up.
This IS WW3 .
They will… and they’ll be asking US for help.
The normalcy bias is keeping so many blind, deaf, and dumb.
No one living has lived through war and famine in the USA. Most have no way to comprehend what that looks like or means.
Unlike WWI and WWII, this one is being fought as no other has been…stealthily… with bioweapons and, it looks like, food deprivation. And worse, if worse there is, all conducted by traitors in each country against their own citizenry.
This is why I think most can’t see it, won’t believe it. It is still inconceivable to them that their own governments could be the vicious deadly enemy…which they in fact are.
Correct, M. Most are not waking up fast enough if at all.
I comment on a local TV site with a large liberal group. Put a few facts out or something about the Lord and see the invective they spew at me. Wow! The left is one evil group of haters of all that is Godly.
It’s all comfy cozy in groups with like minds. Too dangerous to go outside and see the reality.
Biden is a mental disaster and doesn’t have the brains to create this impending disaster. Those in the background are evil and extremely cunning. I do not believe for 1 minute that these crisis’s are due to stupidity, they are part of an all out assault on this country and the free world. The enemy is extremely smart and they are PURE UNADULTERATED EVIL. Be prepared they will not stop until they are defeated.
I don’t give china joe a pass for nothing. FJB
Neither do I but at this point he is just a willing useful idiot.
Get ready for the fight of a lifetime.
I’m with you on the cunning and evil part… my spider senses tell me this is all about backing into a desired conclusion.
This is being driven by Klaus Schwab and the WEF Globalists along with the CCP, which the DemoCommunist and DemoFascist elites are only too happy to help. Ozero is subservient to the Globalists & CCP, but I think there is a large cast of embeds within the federal government (and many state governments) who are all following every order they receive down the chain.
You are correct – the deliberate disruption of American and all western cultures and economies is 100% by design.
Yes! The first time I started reading this big picture concept was around March 2020. They have the world focusing on CV, but that’s just a means to. an end.
Bingo!
We are witnessing how evil most politicians would be if they were able to put a disposable body like Joe in front of themselves to take the bullets.
Planed evil by the elite families of the western nations. God is using them as he used Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar to fulfil his will. Judgment day seems near at the door.
I went grocery shopping yesterday and I saw folks, many of them elderly, wandering around as if in a daze. Since the place was pretty well stocked, I think it was sticker shock.
People were shaking their heads in disbelief, saying, “Can you believe this..” The items have been purposely hidden, as most of the familiar aisles were moved around. They did this rearranging of stock in early fall, most likely in preparation for shortages.
I hate to think these are the good old days. And I worry about the elderly, who can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to the genocidal maniacs running our world.
I was one of them, although I need stuff I couldn’t buy.
I was in a deli yesterday and an elderly man ordered a cheese burger, but he had insufficient funds on his card to pay for said burger. Watching the staff humiliate him made me ill, I stood in front of him and paid for the burger and I told them to give him the change. They thought I’d give them a tip, not likely after how they treated him. Last week I paid for an ole lady’s cat food, it sickens me to watch our elderly suffer.
I hear you, Monica. We need to look out for each other.
We must do this. I pay it forward every chance I can. We are all in this together–and I mean trying to survive a murderous regime hellbent on killing us all.
Good for you!
And you might tell the people that you help, “When you’re on your feet again financially, you can pay it forward and help someone else.” That gives them hope for the future, and gives them dignity. (They look forward to kindly helping someone else.)
A couple of weeks ago, a young man at the register next to me was buying lunch and the cashier told him their computers were down and she could only take cash. I hardly ever carry cash, but I had some that day so I paid for his lunch. He was so humbled and grateful. He said “I will pay this forward the first chance I get”. Good people need to counter-balance the evil that’s spreading like wildfire.
I’ve grown fond of the elderly as I age. They are hard working and wise – don’t eat much either, so they’re easy to help. I know, some of them may be democrats, but most around these parts are real good people.
They have knowledge that the younger ones simply will never have. It is wise to listen to the elderly.
Until Ezekiel Emmanuel pulls the plug on us at 75 as is his plan. I’m close, but have much more work to do with my grands to oblige that evil soulless executioner.
Yes it does. That’s why all the Democrats involved in purposefully dumping Covid patients in senior citizen Nursing homes to murder them so they could launch this Coup/Treason all need to be facing capital punishment trials starting with Cuomo who was the gold standard for it according to the Dementia/demon possesed corpse Biden
God Bless You.
Monica, God bless you. To my fellow treepers, hopefully it was understood I didn’t buy because of sticker shock. I am ‘old’ but can help as Monica has.
wonderful Monica
Thank you, Monica!
Bless you, Monica, This is exactly what these amoral creatures want…the destruction of our common humanity. And this we will not allow. Because, Luciferian acolytes that they are, it is beyond their ken to even contemplate that there is tremendous good in most people.
Just because the left are a bunch of self aggrandizing loathsome creatures, God expects better of his children. Be kind, giving and cheerful at all times. Help where you can.
How right you are, Balbinus!💓 walking in His Light.
We need to be prepared to extend Christian charity. Definitely be on the look out for the retirees. I actually offered to help pay for some groceries around the holidays and the woman laughed at me and told me to keep my money. But, hey, I offered.
Angels can do no more, BFAW.
Imagine trying to stock up on limited funds. And knowing how vulnerable you are because of age and infirmities.
It can be done, but the main thing is to have an interest in it and want to do it. I am speaking of the younger older crowd, not the infirmed that have zero control over their lives.
Joe thinks the US economy is just fine.
Joe also thinks the same way that Xi Jinping thinks.
That’s okay. Biden also thinks it’s still 2020.
I lost a 4×4 for my grape vines this summer to woodpeckers. Didn’t dare try to replace it. Next year, we’re goin’ steel.
Or you could get some thin sheet metal such as galvanized steel from which they make A/C ducts, and cut measured strips to wrap around and tack onto your 4×4’s. Paint them in your choice of colors to protect from rusting too quickly..
Steel doesn’t get too hot?
Dreading the next gas bill.
Does Canada need our exports more than we need theirs?
Think about like this: at BEST the price on things is going to skyrocket. At worst: it will do so fast, because stock is unavailable, like this story.
EITHER way- get the things you will need through summer, now. Clothes? (you/kids/seasonal) Pantry? (Got peanut butter? oats? canned veggies?) Stock? (charcoal/propane/paper goods/plastics)
The worst thing that would happen if you hoard right now is… you saved some money, this year.
Think about 2020. Remember the TP panic? Child’s play, if something like this story happens. Buy now.
….and if anybody feels conscience-stricken about “hoarding” (which is also known as preparing….)–you can always give away everything you’re buying now– toward spring –when those around you who did not prepare are freaking out. They will think you are wonderful.
Seniors, the disabled, food pantries, etc. None of this will go to waste.
They WILL ‘fold in’ “preppers” as part of their “othering” of insurectionists, calling them “horders” and making it illegal.
DO NOT be unaware of the glances of neighbors, seeing you stuffing your freezers, etc.
And, when shortages get severe, “those dirty HORDERS!” is something that WILL resonate!
You can only hold off so many with lead, especially if they have official sanction, and you have been officially condemned.
Better to be circumspect, and actively conceal your stockpiling activities.
Probably best to not post ANYHWERE how much of what you have….
FEMA has a rule of 3 months of food supply maximum.Likely if you are over that they will take it all. Ammo up.
I have 2 bottles of dewormer I’m trading for one bottle of black seed oil if anyone is interested
I took black seed oil for the first time yesterday and it made me sick.
This post made me laugh.
None of it is funny but appreciated the chuckle.
Just buy the nigella sativa seeds whole. They are delicious in salads, soups end really everywhere. The oil is horrible to taste in comparison.
Pantry stocked up nicely. Working on getting extra pet food this weekend per your recommendations. Refilling all prescriptions on my newly changed mail in pharmacy that I did not realize my company had changed until Monday….
This weekend is spent hunkering down and organizing all my drygoods and canned goods in my overflowing pantry.
Getting extra nose spray, anti itch creams, rubbing alcohol, peroxide and bleach as well as extra vitamins and OTC pain relievers.
Sucks to be having to spend all the disposable money on this now, but will have no problem working through things so it will all work out.
Jasemedical.com
I received their antibiotic pack with 5 different full prescriptions of 5 different common antibiotics
Also ordered my thyroid meds and an epipen
Received the antibiotics. Waiting on the thyroid and epipen
Fill out a simple questionnaire.
Stock up on these life saving meds Treepers!
I am still recovering from the purchase of my IVM and HCQ from Americasfrontlinedoctors.com and myfreedoctor.com which I could not use my insurance for. This is good to know but seems really expensive at $259.95. https://jasemedical.com/pricing
Funerals are a lot more expensive!
For those taking essential medications (heart, anti-seizure, etc) you cannot have an interruption in your dosages. Reach out to your physicians asap to see if they will write a 90 script. It’s worth a shot.
The physician writing an extra RX won’t do any good if the pharmacy won’t fill it.
Most of my meds are 90 day already, and they will not accept any early refills. Insurance companies won’t allow it.
Go to Mexico
Yeah, then I could come back across the border (without a vax) like the rest of the people coming into the country under the Let’s Go Brandon administration.
Try paying cash and using Goodrx and filling at a different pharmacy chain, if not too expensive. Goodrx has some very good discounts. I just filled a prescription that was a little over $200 with no insurance and was $25 using Goodrx.
If you haven’t used it before, they list several different nearby pharmacies and list the prices, using the Goodrx coupon.
That’s true Sharon – I hadn’t thought that the pharmacy/insurance won’t allow it.
What a royally messed up system. No entity (pharmacy, insurance company, whatever) should stand in the way of a doctor treating his patients.
I’m very worried about family members who rely on these medications!
jasemedical.com they will fill your prescription from a pharmacy in Utah…just give them the med and dosage..dont know how long they will be allowed to operate so stock up now! You will have to pay for it because insurance won’t but at least you will have it!
Also stock up on supplements and get some at home medical
supplies such as Pulse Oximeter, home blood pressure machine,
I am looking at nebulizers on line..to have..
The pet food one is important my Stop and Shop has been out for
a few weeks canned food bare, not much litter or dry food. Order
from the pet store if you can.
I found out the hard way peroxide and bleach degrade quite quickly. Check internet for exact info. I had to toss all mine. Bleach degrades to salt water after a time.
I do my own grocery shopping and I can personally confirm watching prices jumping at a monthly basis.
Also, there are shortages of certain items which persist for weeks at a time.
Thankfully, I like rice so I guess I will just be eating more of it than usual.
I like rice, too. Have you tried it with nam pla–Thai fish sauce?
I really like to drench Jasmine or Basmati with nam pla and dig in. If you have leftover whitefish meat, it’s really good mixed in.
We have mixed brown and red rice 50/50 for years. Very good.
I am watching them jump as I’m making my way around the grocery store. One price when I go in…higher when I leave.
Well, this is what you get when you put people in charge who have utterly no idea as to the implications of what they are doing. 🤡 The next move is simple: drive those trucks up to the border checkpoint, turn off the engine, lock the doors, and park them there, blocking every lane. When a couple miles of those parked trucks start accumulating, it will make international headlines. There is no way to talk sense to these politicians. They have to be confronted with the direct consequences of their stupidity.
I like that idea.
None of them will go hungry and your tax dollars (either past or future debt) will pay for them to continue to live in the style they have become accustomed to. They will have security, food, medicine, clothing, fuel, heat and nice places to live away from the hoi poi.
Best idea I’ve heard all day. Plugged ports and now plug the border crossings. Biden and his puppet master Obama deserve the fallout.
They know quite well what they are doing! They are evil and care less about us proles. They want us dead. Live and make them mad!
Maybe Biden can jump in a truck to help out. . I heard he used to drive an 18 wheeler.
How about fall under it and sniff the exhaust.
lol
Montana looks like LGB sniffin Idaho. Look at a map – once you see it you can’t not see it.
Yes Yes! I saw him at a truck stop years ago. He was pumping gas into his diesel tanks and I pointed it out to him. He said: I DONT WORK FOR YOU!
Should I feel guilty to kinda looking forward to it? Buckle Up Buttercup. Don’t forget about your pet food supplies, have read in about 10 days it’ll be mostly gone.
Even small cans of cat food are about $1, my wife has been getting the cheapest chicken she can and feeding that to our oldest cat. He eats it like there’s no tomorrow and he’s got like four teeth left.
We used to buy packages of raw chicken necks for our old Puddy Tat. He loved them!
cats can eat eggs, kidneys, liver, rabbit
The Usurpers and the dolt running Canada appear to be doing absolutely everything they can to destroy the continental economy. The one and only remedy is to ignore them and their insane “mandates” — but will the truckers take the risks involved?
Bingo. That’s the easiest answer to this problem. We must remain UNITED and toss the middle finger to all the little itty bitty morons with an authority complex. Ignore them ALL. They are lawless cretins anyway.
Whether it’s two weeks or two months we know it is coming so preparation is the only way to ensure your family is taken care of. Biden’s statement today that the jobs report was historic was laughable, and their manipulation of the unemployment numbers showing 3.9% is ridiculously unbelievable. 4.5 million more people quit (or were fired) their job yet the unemployment number dropped again? Only a fool believes these people about anything.
I assume to most folks here this means to stock up on essentials, meds, money and ammo (snark and serious). What else would be recommended from our leader or those with a better plan than me. Thanks.
This was posted by someone else yesterday. It’s practical and pretty thorough.
TYVM Sharon
Sharon, thank you very much! Wonderful list.
Here are some more ideas:
In a hot climate, if you get more fans, make sure that at least some fans run on either battery or AC power. Then you can run those fans, if you lose AC power. (I like my 10-inch “O2Cool” fan. I think another name for that brand is “Treva”.)
In a cold climate, you might want to get
1) “self-heating food” – food that heats up when you add water to it,
2) “hand warmers” and “foot warmers” – chemically heated warming pads for your hands and feet,
3) bubble wrap to put on the inside of your windows, and some tape to attach the wrap to the inside of your windows (a thickness of 2 or 3 layers does a good job of keeping your house warm), and
4) a soft, squishy foam “mattress topper” that’s about 2 inches thick. It really holds in your body heat. You put it on top of your mattress, under your sheet.
LOTS of water. Water isn’t just for drinking. You’ll need water to wash your hands occasionally.
Paper plates and cups, and plastic utensils. You won’t want to use your precious water to wash dishes.
When I buy cans of food, I like to buy cans that have a ring on top that you pull, to open the can. (This is instead of using a can opener.) After I open a can of cross-contamination food like chicken, I don’t want to use my precious water to wash the can opener.
https://valleyfoodstorage.com/blogs/inside-vfs/timely-prepping-what-to-stock-up-in-january also has some ideas on stocking up. It says we might have a shortage of eggs and chicken soon. (The article also advertises their products, but you can skip over their ads.)
Lots of first aid kits that I see at drug stores contain mostly bandaids. If you hurt yourself badly, you’ll want something in your first aid kit that you can use for your injury – larger sized bandages and tape. So you might want to make your own first aid kit. You can go to a web page like https://www.redcross.org/store/first-aid-supplies to get ideas on what to put into your first aid kit.
Baby wipes, they come in so handy when the power is out and there is no water.
Camping supplies can double as great supplies for disaster or economic collapse.
Batteries, cutting tools/knives, cordage, water, matches/lighters/etc
Freezer is stocked for two years. Garage now looks like a supermarket! Just need to grab more coffee, and gas tank for the house is being filled on Monday.
Purchased highest protein feed to be found for my dogs. Best place is Tractor Supply. High protein is meant for sporting dogs only, so this feed can be mixed down 50/50 with brown rice and they will stay healthy.
I raw feed my dog. I am cringing hard at half dog food half rice. Dog food is 40-60 percent carbs i.e. rice, corn, potatoes or whatever they use. Have the ability to understand how to put food together for your dog only do rice if very desperate.
Dog will be happy with freezer burned meat, undesirable parts talking animal heads, feet, offal amd very chewy cuts of meat that are generally cheap.
Other options hunting, raising animals like rabbit.
You do eventually run put of dog food so something to consider.
Table scraps. That’s the traditional dog food from my folk’s generation of dirt-poor Southerners. Their dogs lived long and healthy lives romping in the woods, hunting, and herding. Nobody ever called a vet for anything because of the screw-up with hog cholera in the South–nobody trusted the vets.
I still don’t trust vets!
Exactly so far the healthiest dogs ive owned are and were the ones NOT fed dog food.
The first thing coyotes eat when they tackle a deer is the stomach, then the rest of the organs in quick succession before getting into the muscle meat.
Consider a grinder strictly for processing critters into dog chow.
Grocery store tripe is bleached so all the good stuff is gone. However if you find a raw food supplier for people who feed such you can definitely get raw green beef tripe. Hunting you can get it bit have to freeze it for so many months due to risk of parasites.
Fair warning green beef stripe smells like a shit full barnyard. Dogs absolutely live it though.
Lol, I do everything for my dogs, including all injections, and ivermectin. Correct amount of protein is important for hair growth etc, but carbs are a treat. This sports mix and rice will do them fine in an emergency, and I believe we’re getting there!
The people i know with working dogs feed the following dog food in order of popularity.
Puriana pro plan sport
Victors – i couldnt tell you which one as i know little
Diamond Natural Extreme Athlete.
and a generator? Last February I was without power for 10 days here in Oregon due to a massive ice storm. Whatever we have in our freezers isn’t much use if the power goes out and stays out.
The attrition (with regard to both skill and literal #s of bodies) with regard to maintaining and sustaining power grids, etc. is going to take a toll fairly quickly. Toss and EMP or two in a region and the party’s pretty much over. We didn’t have necessary generators then. We do now. As well as water filtration/storage capacity.
You mention water filters. For those with filters on well water, that’s a good stock up item.
Central heating air filters are another item to make sure you have an adequate supply.
Thank you for this article, we have been putting off preparations, but major action starts today.
Three freezers full of meat. One pantry. Two large closets full everything else we could think of.
Whole house generator as a back-up for freezers installed over the summer. None of which will make it easy just easier than for some.
And thanks for the warning, Sundance, whether it comes to be or not. It’s good to be more aware than less.
Take a look at Canada’s Outcome of Cases (Recovery or Death) in Canada Chart. First, you need to go to the worldometers website:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/canada/#graph-deaths-daily
From there, scroll down a couple of graphs to the Outcome of Cases graph.
Can it get any better than that? There appears to be no problems. Where do we go from here? The borders should be opening up. Trade needs to be protected. People’s lives depend on this.
Here is a link to research on the effectiveness of the vaccines:
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.30.21268565v1.full.pdf
The finding? The boosters don’t work as intended.
In light of this research, why mandate???
It is time to open things up. The marginal utility of the mandates is done. There are costs to not opening things up.
But what about all the newly made Pharma Billionaires.
Stop making sense, you’ll upset the left.
Ammo? Nope. No guns either. They all went to the bottom of the harbor when my houseboat sank.
Sorry to here that, I lost mine in a tragic boating accident also. . My condolences.
I am going sailing next week with gold an silver aboard. Hope the wind is friendly and no whales.
Another American trajedy!
I have noticed how the dictators in Africa over the past 60 years have had one thing in common: they have been so fixated on getting their way and pushing their ideologies that they have never asked, “Is this helping or harming the ordinary people of my country?”
They are puppets being used to kill off overthrow the White governments, Christianity, and than to saddle them with debt so that Bush’s NWO & democrats totalitarian comrades China can take over Africa and all its resources.
As MEP Christine Anderson said – Never in history have those who held power been concerned about the welfare of those beneath them.
Great speech if you a chance to listen.
if you cannot afford much, then maximize your purchases for the easiest ready to eat (or those that requires the least amount of prep and power).
canned foods.
cereals
rice
beans (yes, you can actually eat raw beans without alot of heating and cooking…a good couple of days soak in some salt brine can do the trick…might not be the best food you’ve eaten…but it works)
potatoes….cut a few and put in the dirt out back….potatoes will root nearly every time and almost everywhere…
rice…
notes: it’s not difficult to build a small greenhouse in the winter months. potatoes and many other starch vegetables WILL grow in the winter in a greenhouse.
survival food gets you to next week, next month, next year. Don’t overthink it.
I “can” afford to purchase all kinds of things. we probably all can..but you don’t have to overthink this.
the basic prep food is how you manage to exist when everything else does not work well.
and organize…with people of like mind.
remember what happens when disasters happen..people lose their minds…people, ordinary people, become criminals.
so yes, now would be a good time to practice home defense and plans for different strategies.
everyone in my family has a personal whistle. and a side arm.
the side arm is to show force..the whistle is to get attention and people to react and circle the wagons.
our dogs are our alarm systems too. don’t forget to have food for your dogs. Doesn’t have to be much.
don’t overthink it if you are on a budget.
we will get through this.
As sundance has wisely stated, if it turns out to be low impact..great…good practice run….good skills to develop.
eventually these skills and how you are prepared will be tested. that is certain.
God Bless America
Yes to the raw beans. Also corn, wheat and soybeans, cattle food. Soak them in water for a while to soften them up. They are not gourmet but they prevent starvation.
Been to Costco, Target, Sprouts this week:
Target – has for a while had more empty shelves than any one.
Costco – stock is good, except cold dairy section looked lean.
Sprouts – has been the best stocked, although they have empty shelves in the pre sliced/made veggie area (cabbage, chopped veggie packs, salad kits)
Inflation note:
Sprouts (Central Texas)
Simply Orange juice –
Skinny pop popcorn bags:
Gas in central Texas went down for a couple of months from $2.99 to $2.58, now it’s back up to $2.78 to $2.81
You can’t get diesel oil either. We went on line to eBay and for a quart it was 44.00. Anybody else having trouble getting it.? Walmart and Atwood’s were out, shelves were empty. We live in east Texas.
diesel engine motor oil? or are you talking about DEF?
I live very close..south west louisiana (carlyss). We have it here in pretty good amounts…walmart..all the local motor shops..and the highway big hauler fuel stations.
commercially, we can go to several fuel and lub commercial operations (reladyne) and they have it.
Yes. My husband uses it for his diesel truck. Thanks.
Try a farm supply or tractor dealer. Rural King here in KY. Farm and Fleet north. Co-Op maybe.
Try Tractor Supply–give ’em a call first. I sold a ton of Rotella two summers ago. They DO stock diesel oil in gallon jugs. Whether they have any in your area? Just give ’em a call.
go to local implement dealers.john deere case/IH kubota etc.you can buy it by the 5 gallon buckets.
Canada supplies the construction materials, Wood Drywall ext. The building market will collapse. Amazing how people don’t see this coming. Sheep believe the dog will feed them.
They believe a genuine liberal utopia is right around the corner, while their liberal cognitive dissonance blocks them from realizing they have been promising utopias for a very long time, and they always end up with mass murder, starvation, and collapse.
Don’t forget the plentiful small game. I know “rabbit starvation” and all, but a little rabbit or squirrel is tasty.
I’ve been practicing with a slingshot. Getting pretty accurate. Quieter. And saves my metal for bigger things. 😉
I am looking into training a passage red tail hawk at some point, but right now, I just blast ’em with my .410. I’ve always shot that thing like a rifle, so it’s small, nimble, moving target practice for me.
410s are a nice little shotgun for smaller game.
But, my neighbors are so picky about that stuff 😎
Just make sure you’ve prepped on fats and a rabbit diet will be fine!
groundhogs have lots of fat!
Squirrel stew- yum! Has it 50 years ago at our ski club….seriously, it was good.
my hubby refuses to hunt them. He’s quite fond of the little rodents.
Squirrel , chicken of the tree ,
Squirrel-rat with a fluffy tail
I live in a nice wooded area. Lucky to see 2 rabbits a year. Cats, Red Tail hawks and coyotes keep them cleaned out.
Here’s your starter list. Might pique some ideas some may have missed.
The link doesn’t show, but if you click the big blank white area below his comment, it will take you to a YouTube video of 50 things you need to prep for.
We have been planning on this for about a year. Pantry is full. Long term storage done. Bills are paid. Legally keeping and bearing arms. We are ready for a rough 2022!! God Bless all Patriots!!🙏🙏
No fear. No fear!Pray for the best, prepare for the—well, the less-than-best! May God have mercy on our country and all the great Patriots who dwell within!
I have been stocking up
Got me a bread maker even though I can do without one Even got me a noodle maker.
Got enough dry goods to keep me in bread & other essentials for a while.
One bedroom closet is pretty full of canned goods..
Will be selfish this year and not give away all my extras from garden. I will can it instead. Seems I’m only good growing squashes & tomatoes any way
What is sad though is I don’t think most people under 30 will know how to survive if shelves go bare /or fast food places cant get supplies.
My faith still lays in my Lord
I think you are so right about the under 30 crowd. 🤔
God bless you kin. I have a breadmaker and plenty of mixes but in the wintertime it is hard to find a place in the house warm enough for bread to rise.
When I would make bread without a bread maker I’d put the bread near one of the floor registers where foot traffic was the least or wood stove when we had one.
My son is 28. He is just starting. He planted a decent garden this past summer and grew some nice tomatoes and peppers. He wants to have a bigger garden next summer. No one else in our family gardens. He taught himself (with help from a childhood friend who is very good at it and also hunts and fishes. My son is the one who is always on me to stock up at the store.
he is a rarity.
Remember some crazy liberal who asked why did we need farmers when could just go to the store and buy it,
How long do we think it’s going to be bad ?
Months ? Years ?
I believe that depends on how long the moronic sheeple will put up with this contrived mess.
This will be very interesting because Pres. Trump is having a rally in Arizona on the 15th.
Expect him to speak very truthfully and pay special attention on his mannerisms and his actual words; there will be a message for everyone world-wide.
will go for long time unless ppl with a clue are put in charge….repercussions even longer
It will be bad at first, then go downhill from there.
The food supply is only the beginning. Add the solar minimum to the mix and problems could grow exponentially.
Use your preps to fill-in when everything is scarce, but keep buying what you can to stretch. ALSO… Garden!!!!
9 meals from anarchy, as the saying goes. In other words, most people have less than a week of food at home. 3 days of empty shelves at the grocery stores, assuming only 3 meals a day and no snacking, you will see riots and collapse.
Try and form up with any good people in your neighborhood. Citizen defense force. If your near Democrat Diversity, I would be especially worried. Look what happened in previous race riots which in cases like Newark NJ was agitated by the FBI, and obviously in Kenosha.
DIEversity kills NATIONality
Just remember that in any group of six, five of them will be FIB informants. If they suggest going after the governor, you may want to switch to another group.
since Over 80% of people in my new Neighborhood fly the flag, along with over 20% flying the Trump flag I feel pretty safe.
Bear in mind: as we have seen – policy can be changed quickly.
I have a friend who works for a firm that deals with imports/ customs. He handles the paperwork someone needs to submit in order to import something. He says the wait at LA ports is now 30 days but the real problem is empty containers are not leaving LA, even after they are dropped off. Just stacking up. No empty containers to be filled overseas and then sent back. He is starting to suggest Houston as an alternate port, even though it costs a little more and takes about 15 extra days to get there from Asia. FUBAR indeed.
So the communists took over our institutions, our media, hollywood, stole election etc for this?
Same ol’ miserable communism? Decades working on the takeover and this is it?
We were promise the best communism ever. The only one that would work.
Hollywood has ALWAYS been run by Communists.
Yer too impatient… just hold yer breath…
At it’s core, communism is really anti-people. Remember that….
CTH readers are already well versed in the domestic side of this issue. Thanks to Sundance, and people are starting to listen to me, it scares me, but the pockets getting deep you need to be ready.
Thank you for the information. All going according to their plan. They want the unemployment, the shortages, higher gas prices, open boarders, inflation, devaluation of the dollar, people boxed in their home. The GOP leadership is to busy holding vigil candles and cucking for the dRATS.
The bigger problem will be those that did not or could not prepare. Fear, uncertainty and hunger drive base human reactions. Things will get ugly fast and the people will cry for someone to save them. That point will determine what kind of people we really are–kneel or actively push back.
People living paycheck to pay check in a small apt. That’s tough.
I’d prefer to fix the problem with the ammo.
get ready for centralized government distribution points for only the vaxed. And what you have will be commandeered to provide for the greater good.
Yet people are posting about all the closets and garages and pantries full of stuff they have… Yeah ’cause the *** don’t read here…
Will the American People tolerate a totalitarian government putsch and a democidal mortocracy of rogue psychopaths on Canadian Government payroll along our northern border?
The majority of American’s still have a deep and abiding love for America and it’s government. Our beef is with rogue employees and the 5th Column actors in the major institutions and the rogue actors in the SES facilitating a subversion of the national government against our citizenry. We don’t hate our government. We need our government. We need our government to be good.
The malignant failed generation currently dominating SES and political party leadership positions is seamlessly interwoven with their generational cohorts in foundations, trusts, publicly traded firms and hedge funds, institutions, and the K-street mafia feeding at the boundaries who are in the twilight of their hegemony.
I don’t know and can’t predict the ultimate outcome. I can say I don’t see how they can prevail. They don’t have the numbers, the breadth of expertise or the quality of vision or talent to corrupt the arc of history unfolding before us.
In their hubris they chose to ride the tiger years ago. The end of the ride is near. They are not young anymore and their predatory agenda is no longer cryptic and closely held, as it was.
They may still ride the tiger for now. They will eventually realize it’s much easier to get on than get off.
Tiger will turn around and eat you.
Like the ending in the astonishing new satire “Don’t Look Up!”
Biology rules. Hubris and political hegemony are no defense.
Lost all mine in a boating accident. Further, when food gets extremely scarce, everyone will be shooting everything. Deer population was nearly wiped out in the 1920s.
If any have lived through the Carter years, chin up!
We can do this.
we can do Carter, China aligned w/Russia and Iran….not so much
I remember Carter. We ate a lot of oatmeal, and hamburger soup.
When do all of Biden gang man made disasters become crimes against humanity. The Nuremberg codes being willfully violated. The surrender of Afghanistan to the Pakistan Taliban invaders who came to aid the local Taliban that had been decimated. The Biden gang turned over a fully functional air force base complete with aircraft. They gave the names of American Citizens and green card holders to the Taliban allowing them to make up kill lists. Then allowed the Taliban to give them unvetted untested Afghans some who were part of terrorist groups to be loaded on aircraft to be relocated to the USA at taxpayer expense.
They allowed unvetted, untested people across the southern border and flew them secretly to cities at night knowing full well they had no ID/papers, some even infected with the manmade virus not telling the authorities in these areas what they were doing/intentionally spreading a deadly disease.
