The Taliban in Afghanistan have been taking back territory and attacking U.S. allied forces ever since the U.S. military began a withdrawal. On July 8th Joe Biden was asked if the U.S. embassy in Kabul would be evacuated giving a familiar reference to the U.S. collapse in Vietnam. In July he said no. Biden was leaving 650 military personnel in Kabul to guard the embassy and diplomats.
Two days ago Biden announced sending 3,000 U.S. troops to begin the embassy evacuation. That is correct. Biden is sending 3,000 soldiers back to Afghanistan to help evacuate Americans. Another 3,500 soldiers will be on standby. Biden is sending more soldiers back to Afghanistan than the 2,500 he withdrew to begin with.
Considering that Joe Biden has a documented political history of getting everything exactly wrong; meaning the outcomes are exactly the opposite of every contention he has ever made; it is worth noting what Biden claims will not happen – because this is exactly what is likely to happen. WATCH:
As if on cue from divine or karmic providence, exactly what Joe Biden said in July would not occur, is exactly what is occurring in August…. Afghanistan’s second and third largest cities, Kandahar and Herat, fell to the Taliban on Thursday and Friday.
(CNN) – […] In a statement Friday, the Taliban said they had taken control of the governor’s office, police headquarters, as well as other key operational centers throughout the city of Kandahar. “Hundreds of weapons, vehicles and ammunition were seized,” the Taliban statement said.
Kamin said he and many others had made their way to a military base close to the city’s international airport and were awaiting a flight out. “Many (government) soldiers surrendered and the rest fled,” Kamin said.
Kamin had earlier told CNN that Taliban fighters had been able to break through the city’s frontline and were engaging in sporadic confrontation with government forces.
Kandahar, which lies on the junction of three major highways, is of particular strategic importance and was formerly a major hub for US military operations. Its seizure marks the most significant gain yet for the Taliban.
Elsewhere on Friday, the government lost control of the nearby capital of Urozgan province, Tarin Kot. (read more)
Biden announced the withdrawal of 2,500 troops in April.
In June and July those troops started leaving.
In July Biden swears the embassy in Kabul will not fall.
In August Biden sends 3,000 troops back to Afghanistan.
Watch what happens in Kabul….
We will see helicopters emergency airlifting embassy personnel and rescuing people.
And somehow this is all going to be Trump’s fault.
Rest assured. Saurons gaze has shifted, from Afghanistan, to elsewhere.
The US forfeiting its energy independence, and handing control back to OPEC, hands the Pentagon a new raison d’être.
They never stopped loving oil, other peoples oil, that is.
Oh, Biden’s already back bombing in Somalia. Pres Trump stopped bombing in Somalia and was withdrawing our troops.
D.C.’s Bomber Boys can’t have that now, can they?
I have never stopped loving oil either. But American oil has always smelled sweeter to me. But I have learned to hate windmills and solar farms.
Great analogy, Caleb!! Tolkien or Orwell, you decide!!

You kill barbarians. You do not civilize them. When war is hell, peace is possible. When war is measured, peace is impossible.
When will we learn to stay out of all wars that we don’t intend to completely destroy our enemy and leave them to clean up their own mess. There might be far fewer provocations, no?
We will see helicopters emergency lifting…etc?
The embassy staff use a helicopter right now to get from the embassy to the airport.
The surface to air missiles of which the Taliban now has possession travel something like 25-40 miles, iirc.
The Taliban not only got American jeeps, trucks, ammo, and supplies, the Taliban has taken control of all the aircraft the U.S. left behind.
Sadly the Afghans don’t believe in Our Lord, but the Afghan souls will continue to be in my prayers. Not much else can help them now.
Our embassy guys? They knew what they were doing.
Talk to Jimmy Carter, Joe. Crashing the helicopters would be damaging to your political future. Make sure they will all arrive in Kabul before the Taliban get there. Politicians get into this same mess about every time they send our kids into a war they don’t intend to win. You would think that they would learn from this, but their track record for the last 75 years has been invariably poor. We specialize in dragging wars out as long as it takes to humiliate our troops after completely emptying our pocketbooks.
As a “survivor’ and combat veteran of the Vietnam conflict and an eye witness to the “skin of your teeth” escape of the last personnel from the U.S. embassy in Saigon I can imagine how the many veterans of this war and their families, that lost so much, must feel today. Again we abandon a country whose soil we had no business shedding American blood upon. Once Bin Laden was killed we should have immediately withdrawn all forces and never engaged in the nation building that failed so miserably…..again.
It would seem that our military and political leaders have an even shorter memory than American voters.
Afghanistan is simply returning to its natural state.
President Trump had a viable peace plan with the Taliban back in 2017 but the Globalists in the Pentagon, Mattis, McMaster, etc. refused it. 20 years and Trillions for nothing. Again.
