An interesting albeit manipulative proclamation from the control agents atop the Eye of Sauron, Google. The leading manipulative entity behind the global invasion of privacy is now saying they consider “privacy” a priority. As a result they are moving to stop tracking individual users as part of their business model…
(Via WSJ) […] “If digital advertising doesn’t evolve to address the growing concerns people have about their privacy and how their personal identity is being used, we risk the future of the free and open web,” David Temkin, the Google product manager leading the change, said in a blog post Wednesday.
Let us first be clear… CTH is not suddenly naive enough to believe that Google is now positioning out of some great sense of altruism, magnanimity or business stewardship. That thought is laughable in the extreme. No, what is really going on here is that the Eye of Sauron has noticed how the Rebel Alliance, within which CTH is a leading insurgency voice, has found ways to tunnel under the technology landscape.
Additionally, both domestic and international patriots are putting laws, rules and regulations into place that are directly adverse to the current business model that Google has been dependent upon for their Ad Revenue services. There are people working in the background to create regulations on top of the tech industry that are founded on privacy concerns.
In the U.S. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida legislature are one group who are heeding the assistance from tech insiders, members of the insurgency, well versed in the roadmap of Google. There are plans in the works that will cut the tentacles of the Tech overlords. Google is now being manipulatively proactive in their self-defense.
Outside the U.S. the advancements of privacy regulations are being spear-headed by Australia, Poland, Hungary and subsidiary Rebel Alliance members who are also benefiting from the insider information provided. The alliance membership grows daily.
Cont… […] Google plans to stop selling ads based on individuals’ browsing across multiple websites, a change that could hasten upheaval in the digital advertising industry.
The Alphabet Inc. GOOG -2.57% company said Wednesday that it plans next year to stop using or investing in tracking technologies that uniquely identify web users as they move from site to site across the internet.
The decision, coming from the world’s biggest digital-advertising company, could help push the industry away from the use of such individualized tracking, which has come under increasing criticism from privacy advocates and faces scrutiny from regulators.
How do we know the Rebel Alliance is making a difference? Specifically, how do we know efforts of CTH are bearing fruit in our tech push-back…. Because “sandboxing” was a CTH developmental tool, being field tested with tech partners since 2017.
[…] Google says its ad-buying tools will use new technologies it has been developing with others in what it calls a “privacy sandbox” to target ads without collecting information about individuals from multiple websites. One such technology analyzes users’ browsing habits on their own devices, and allows advertisers to target aggregated groups of users with similar interests, or “cohorts,” rather than individual users. Google said in January that it plans to begin open testing of buying using that technology in the second quarter. (read more)
Ironically, and not coincidentally, it appears Google now wants to own the tunneling technology that was created specifically to work around the influence of Google.
Go figure.
It will be interesting to see if the creators of the “privacy sandbox” will stand up to the pressure of Google and avoid the lure of cashing in and selling-out.
‘Sandboxing’ was essentially created as a way to permit alliances of interests to: make privacy a priority, and monetize their on-line content without worrying about the intrusions of Google, and/or the demonetization fear that comes with dependency.
On the positive side of this shift, Google is now recognizing they can only push the limits of their oligarchy and ideology so far….. Eventually there is a secondary system created that works around their control. So the efforts of the rebel alliance are now inside the boardroom of Google. There is a disturbance in the force and the emperor is scared.
This public statement by Google, and the subsequent shift in position, is an admission of vulnerability; and remember, once a giant publicly admits their vulnerability people will move-in to exploit it. We can expect to see more funding into the systems being created by rebel alliance members who need the support to destroy the Eye of Sauron.
One thing is certain; merely depending on Google to do what is right without legislative direction is a fools game. That is why I use the Brave browser and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I want as little to do with Google as possible, he said as he types on an android phone.
LOL, I do the same thing! Brave browser and DuckDuckGo search engine, but I haven’t broken away from my droid yet.
Using android even more so than Apple is like wearing a cowbell around your neck.
For those not using Brave browser on computer , Malwarebytes has a browser extension that does what the Brave browser does as well as scanning your puter for malware. Has some drawbacks but I like it.
You can get de-Googled Android phones or Linux phones. Have a listen to Ron Braxman’s videos about them and other internet privacy issues.
Also note that ProtonMail now offers a free VPN service and will soon have a free calendar to repkace Google’s.
Re VPNs in general – how confident are you that they do what they say? That you can’t be tracked? Why do we believe THOSE tech companies and not others?
I really don’t know so this is a real question I have.
VPNs can be unmasked by Big Tech. VPS provides more secure anonymity.
From what I have seen VPNS are secure. Most VPN providers are deeply aware of big tech’s perfidy and are bent on preventing them. Nevertheless everything comes with risks. One of the best advice I saw recently was to make sure you use a VPN provider whose servers are NOT located in any 14 eyes country – depending on the level of privacy/security you seek.
We are living in suboptimal times, everything sucks with technology.
These d computers and tech are what’s going to allow the Globalists to put us all under their control in the NWO. Just a click of a computer key and you won’t be able to access your ‘digital account’, which by then will be the only money deemed ‘legal’.
I hate the computer, even though I am typing on one now.
DDG for search and ProtonMail for email.
Our phone options are Android, Pixel, iPhone, or Windows… I’m just hoping Google lost interest in Android when they brought out Pixel.
I also immediately remove all the Google stuff from my phone, and replace it with the Simple Apps, every time I get a new phone.
Yes and Amen.
“One such technology analyzes users’ browsing habits on their own devices…”
IOW Google is planning to move into your sandbox.
A very interesting post by Sundance giving Treepers some light at the end of the Tunnel of Hope.
AMERICA FIRST.
Look around Google.
There is only one God.
And you ain’t it.
Whatever their motivation, if Google stops trying to track my every move I’m okay with that. Ditto FB and Twitter.
They’re not going to stop tracking anything. They’re going to talk about it, and then they’re going to build a compartmentalized team within Google that keeps right on spying on everyone “in secret”.
The Government does things like this when they say they’ve stopped doing something horrible, but in reality they’ve continued doing it under a new name in a different office.
Google lies. They’re Liberals. It’s their most central core value.
Lies are the mother’s milk of the Left.
That “team” is already building a “Firmware/Spyware” mesh into all of their IOT devices(Google, Amazon, Apple-some cursory control at least)…when enough bandwidth comes online(5G mobile, and Gigabit Cable\Fiber), the totality of your online presence will likely monitor you…smart meters, garage door\door access, centralized buying data (including CC purchases), browsing habits. My town sprouted new HD cameras on every intersection during COVID…
Whose cloud will house this data and who will be permitted(or not prevented from hacking) this data will emerge in the near future. Only with a clear definition of who owns that data, and what is the punishment for unauthorized release, and a audit trail controlled by you, with end to end strong encryption, will privacy start to return…
Its a lie. To trick people into thinking ‘I’m okay with that’. Just like you did.
It’s always been about not spending your time and money on globalists. Main Street or no street on everything you possibly can.
I like screwing over these omnipotent jackasses. Rock on.
“domestic and international patriots are putting laws, rules and regulations into place”
Wait, what, I had no idea our side had this kind of power?
Install it….
Spit in their filthy punk faces…
https://www.igorware.com/extensions/block-yourself-from-analytics
I own three different sites, and it has always bugged me how when I check my own site, for example after a tweak, it’s counted by Google Analytics. This appears to be a tool to circumvent that… Brilliant! Thank you!
Trygve: I own and adminster two sites and Google has their sticky little fingers in everything.
Yeah, I am considering removing the Analytics code entirely…
I don’t buy this for a minute. It sounds like Google is migrating to a surer way to track individuals, i.e. device fingerprinting, and then suckering people into thinking their actions will be more private because of it.
Agree with this 100%
Yep, “Hey if you REALLY want to be secure, we’re gonna need your fingerprints, retinal scan and DNA.”
Which they will then sell.
Yes, then share data across BIG TECH platforms…
“ suckering people”
It’s just like the DOJ and FBI taking all those corrective actions after FISA violations and IG reports. /s
Everything the Left does is purposefully meant to hobble, control and enslave you.
ESPECIALLY when they tell you it’s to help.
I’d elaborate but just look to the trapped slaves in 100% of Dem cities. Case closed.
Brave or iridium browser ,Privacy Badger and User-agent smart switcher, search engine Qwant or Metager and Asus-Merlin router with a VPN adn adblock DNS numbers.
Words and Deeds, brothers.
One ain’t the other.
With all due respect Sundance… get off your high horse! This site and this page has Google Analytics INSTALLED. You have tunnelled past no one!
your Analytics ID UA-184124865-1
Simply right click on the page, click view source, Hit ctrl+F and search google.
Wow. Thank you for those directions. Doing as you suggested proved enlightening.
LOL… We installed to see what they were/are capable of extracting, checked out the harvest, and then we modifed the controls accordingly. This was/is an element the test phase for the relaunched optimized site (coming very soon).
Sundance has gone full Nerd!! LOL!!
yeah he has
floating like a butterfly stinging like bee
I use FF No Script b/c I’m all over the web and loathe reading an article w/an ad blinking to the right. Hard to concentrate.
That said, when I visit CTH both Google Analytics and Google Manager are being used by CTH. It’s not just Analytics.
Google’s analytics collects more than it reports back to you, but it sounds like you may already know that.
my recommendation is to install this one your beta parallel platform.
running it on production…well,,,obviously you get direct unfetted test results, but it also raises reasoned eyebrows.
noting: I’m looking at tracking products in my logger right now, that are more than just a little dodgy. I am confident you will also be removing those as well? please do.
also noting: I have few negative opinions if CTH desires to roll their own with tracking cookies for even monetization. I would just propose that you state what they are and inform folks here. I doubt anyone would blink about it if there was some transparency included. Using third party drama is as you would say it “antithetical” to the point of views you espouse.
just a suggestion…And noting: none of this really affects me, given I run a hosts file and api blocking physical gateway box…yes, pages render poorly…but they render lightning fast…and I can live with poor format results.
we all understand your site has no control over links and what hosts them…making your website as clean and functional is absolutely exciting…but it’s obvious there is more work to do…no?
Seems someone thought they found the smoking gun in your hands and sought to publicly “Poirot” you.
Sundance is pulling Crazie Ivans to see who is following.
and Tom Clancy is smiling from above.
it’s possible to do this without exposing the production site and user data.
takes just a bit more creativity and resources….but IF the only reason is to test a honeypot, I am going to say this with a clear throat:
THIS IS NOT NOT NOT HOW YOU DO THAT!
The cat and mouse games begin. BIG TECH might eventual be able to create countermeasures BUT someone will figure out how to keep just ahead of them. All systems of mankind have flaws to exploit, only the Lord’s creation is good!
This. …”only the Lord’s creation is good!”
This is a universal truth.
Australia may ‘spear-heading advances’ against Google, but I can assure you – Don’t trust Australian governments of any color.
Like the US, they are filled with self-serving politicians who have destroyed the country.
All MSM is tainted, especially the government funded ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission).
Coindesk, an online news, information, and opinion site focused on the cryptocurrency arena, recently was suspended by YouTube, for 28 hours, without divulged reasons. It may be too early to say that Coindesk has swallowed the red pill, but they certainly have come face to face with the power of the Eye of Sauron. They, and others in the crypto-field, will increasingly pay attention and consider paths going forward to act against these forces out of self-protection. All to the good. I think some nexus between the crypto/blockchain space and the Rebel Alliance, writ large, is a welcome prospect.
I wonder if someone at G noticed the rabble amassed in the street below with pitchforks and torches, opened a window to hear what they were chanting, heard loud and clear the shouts of “BUST THEM UP! BUST THEM UP!” … and panicked.
Great article. Very interesting. Now, back to tunneling. We’re all sappers, now.
“Outside the U.S. the advancements of privacy regulations are being spear-headed by Australia, Poland, Hungary … … “
Just one more reason to no longer see the USA as the leader of the Free World.
It needs to be pointed out that this “action” by google is meaningless in the larger picture.
lets me break it down
the conventional means that google tracks user habits is from two main sources:
a. it’s chrome browser (and all other chromium based browsers)
b. the google search engine.
collection of “cross site” user cookies is a niche means to collect. It also happens to be a very good vector for malware and nefarious actors who exploit weak user habits and weak browsers vulnerabilities
protip: if you are banking in a browser, QUIT that session by logging OUT of your online banking portal, then clear ALL cache and history. One can take this further by also restarting the computer and/or clearing OS cache (namely the page file for windows and ios systems!). DO NOT open multiple tabs in a browser and go surfing other websites while still logged into a banking session. Cross site cookies vulnerabilities are trivial ..especially on many older chipset and poorly secured machines.
So, what google is doing here is essentially saying they will end the practice of collecting cross site cookies from users.
However, this DOES NOT mean that google will not collect user data. There are many other means to collect that go far beyond cookie collection or cross site collection.
for example:
if you are using a gmail account even if not a gmail per se, they are collecting.
if you are using any kind of google app, they are collecting
if you are using google search engine, they are collecting
if you are using an android device that uses any fork of the chromium or android distro, whether you are using google play store apps or not, they are collecting
if you are using google fi as your cell provider, they are collecting.
if you are visiting ANY WEBSITE OR ONLINE PORTAL that hosts google backend API’s, they are collecting (spoiler: nearly 90 percent and ALL major online websites, use one of more google tracking products..and these are not “simple” tracking and meta scooping products..the ENTIRE purpose of these products are to generate some kind of revenue for the website AND google.
so when you read this latest announcement from google, do not have this expectation that google is no longer collecting ads. They are simply curtailing one very narrow area that has drawn alot of attention from security researchers who have been calling them out for over a decade to clean it up. It IS a good thing they are doing this. (I would add, it would be nice if microsoft and apple followed suit…and if you understand the gamesmanship that goes one between the three, it’s likely the other will eventually follow)
you data is the product….google is not going to end the practice of collecting it. data collection by promoting FREE tools for you, is how google makes it money…they are simply making some adjustments in one very small area that they can use to show good will and yes it will make somewhat of a difference in the overall security vulnerability of users..and more importantly, reduce the amount of liability they are exposed to. But this action should not be considered as google withdrawing from their business model.
Google is no more likely to stop snooping and selling your private info that Ford is going to stop selling a truck.
Thank you!!! Perfect description of what is going on.
The alternatives I use and recommend:
Linux (Mint cinnamon) instead of windows
Firefox instead of Chrome.
NoScript extension for Firefox (to block google where possible)
uBlock extension for Firefox (ad blocker)
DuckDuckGo instead of google
Protonmail instead of gmail
Protonmail ( https://protonmail.com/ ) is really pretty nice; it’s quite convenient to register and use. You can pay a subscription for enahnced features, but the free version is probably fine for most folks.
Happy computing!
almost any device BEHIND a properly configured and scripted security gateway box can accomplish a great deal more than reliances on products who’s owners have zero incentives to actually do security and privacy to defeat the very thing they engineer to collect data and market for it.
think about how a NAT router works with basic security script and filters…take that up a notch and you CAN achieve a gateway box that filters API’s, cookie tracking, activeX, Jscript, and other privacy related and security related snoops.
some folks are doing this with simply and cheap raspberry devices…with pretty good throughput performance…so it doesn’t have to get expensive,….just requires a set of skills and knowledge.
What a quinky dink, Apple came out a couple of weeks ago and made a similar statement regarding their upcoming phones.
If there is a way I can contribute to the construction and further advancement of this new system I would like to know. Is there a place I can contribute finically or in any other manner?
I would just hit the “donate” tab in the upper right corner under “Support the Treehouse”. You can bet that, among other things, our money is being put to good use securing and hardening this site.
My $.05 is they are planning something big, something new like say the CPU-based tracking that would make all file types and generated data packages traceable to the source (CPU). You will not be able to post anything without it and will have to register your CPU somewhere to activate it like Windows or Mac OS.
They realized that their “old tracking” through cookies, browser fingerprinting, IP address and DPI (to block VPN) can be partially defeated or completely evaded.
WWW 2.0?
VPN, brave browser, will not use Google search inasmuch as it is possible, knowing it is embedded in many platforms and websites. Don’t be fooled though. They’ve just figured out another way to harvest your information.
I took a lot of heat from people for using Brave early on. People complained that I was “stealing” ad revenue from content providers. My response was, I will donate to whom I wish. Google has been evil for a very long time. If we can squeeze them further, then good. They owe us big time for stealing our personal information and selling it like human beings were a commodity, hiding behind their so-called “terms of service”.
Cheers for the rebel alliance. Keep throwing sand in their gears!!!!
I have used Brave almost since it launched. Trouble with ad revenue is that I don’t typically visit sites that have a payment arrangement with Brave. So nobody gets paid. Sorry…
Thank you, Sundance.
I’m praying one very stable genius is part of a conservative competitor consortium that is being fomed against th
ese Tech leviathans.
We in the movement need alternatives to acquire information from and communicate through so we can nail down the lid on the left and reinvigorate traditional interpretations of liberty, privacy, and free enterprise.
Awesome news! Thank you CTH Team. Maybe some of this explains why suddenly, after at least 6 months of having issues with my gmail account constantly pausing me out every time I logged off (on my desk top). After logging in to chrome/gmail, I Had to log back in to every single account beyond that. I read and followed instructions in all the info I could find on how to stop chrome pausing out to no avail. Finally, I decided beings I was going to have to log back in (as mentioned) to start clearing all my web browser (+ every other box I could find to check) activities each day. It’s been about 6 weeks now, & “Walla,”….. suddenly without any effort on my part, it’s been 2 weeks now, and the issue has “gone away.” I did not see any sense in using different browsers or email accounts, being google runs roughshod over them all, as well as being “willing partners” with them.
And yes, I do know about Tor, Brave, Duck Duck Go (web browsers) etc, but only use them when necessary when searching for info outside of “googles” sphere.
I love being a part of a group ahead of the curve! Not that I had anything to make it happen, but way to go CTH Team!!!!
Wallace Stevens: “The squirming facts exceed the squamous mind, if one may say so” (Connoisseur of Chaos, 1942)
So where Google pretends to reduce their incursions into your private browsing, Microsoft is planning to pick up the slack and run much much farther… into digitally fingerprinting your computer and online devices so that ANYTHING you ever post online ANYWHERE (including email, text, etc.) will be traceable to YOU.
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2021/02/25/bokhari-microsoft-and-friends-want-to-destroy-online-privacy/
To give you a sense of what this is about…..Here is a clip from the article:
“According to Microsoft’s press release, it has partnered with several other organizations to form the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA).
Put simply, the purpose of this organization is to devise a system whereby all content on the internet can be traced back to its author.
The press release states that it will develop these specifications for “common asset types and formats,” meaning videos, documents, audio, and images.
Whether it’s a meme, an audio remix, or a written article, the goal is to ensure that when content reaches the internet, it will come attached with a set of signals allowing its provenance — meaning authorship — can be detected.”
So while Google allegedly backs off, Microsoft and others are planning even more intrusive “invasion of privacy” technology. This technology will defeat efforts to shield one’s I.P. address via using a VPN. It is actually far worse/more invasive than even that.
I would take this very seriously and contact Congressional reps to disallow this tech to be implemented in any part of consumer hardware and software I.T.
I don’t doubt they want to continue collecting personal information using the above, but I wonder if one of the reasons they want to do this is because of the “Deep Fake” videos they seem to be more and more worried about.
Of course, if you are not at the controls to determine the provenance of a video, how many “Deep Fake” videos will be ignored by those at the controls because it suits their politics?
“..how many “Deep Fake” videos will be ignored by those at the controls because it suits their politics?“
Exactly. You just asked the right F’n question.
Moves and counter-moves.
I use Dissenter browser and StartPage.
As I was digging through old City Directories today, it hit me that we used to pay $1 a month to be UNPUBLISHED. Now I don’t even get an option. They sell me to anyone and everyone.
As always Thank You Sundance and all Rebel Alliances. The Truth must continue to come out. God Bless.
All Google is doing is “putting the word out” so that in 6 months to a year they can go back and say “see, we were concerned”. I don’t think I have ever seen corporation simply eliminate their revenue stream. Google isn’t. They are simply signalling that they are looking for a different way to invade your privacy, track you, and then market you to the rest of the internet.
For what it’s worth, I think Google is the biggest threat to liberty in the world.
What can I do to help the MAGA cause? I need some direction.
Educate and become knowledgeable.
Me, I feel like I am in a flight ✈️ holding pattern.
It took me months to read past CTH articles written by Sundance.
Share what you read with others–in person whenever possible.
And, most importantly…never forget the power of prayer.
The pinch is coming for these clowns. I can’t tell you how many people I know who have abandoned Google across the board, as well as Twitter, Facebook, etc. Yeah, I still link to Youtube, but that’s mainly out of habit. What Google knows is that “mainly out of habit” is incredibly tenuous from a business proposition.
Just look at the NFL which often brags that its ratings YoY are “only” down 5-6-7% whatever. Nevermind that the year before that they were down. And the year before that they were down. etc.
People have started to change their habits enormously in response to the flat-out totalitarianism of these Left-wing a-holes. I quit Facebook 2 months ago, entirely. Downloaded my pictures, deleted the account. Gone. Twitter? I torched that in early 2020. Number of football games I watched last season? ZERO, not including about 10 minutes of the Super Bowl right before halftime, saw a garbage game, and realized I hadn’t missed anything at all. What have I replaced these with? Basically nothing. My family and I keep up on mewe. I don’t use Parler for the same reason I despised Twitter. And on Sundays I read or hike or ski or spend time with my family.
It may never be the case that we can utterly destroy Google, which is really the only workable solution. Just blow them up like Ma Bell and scatter the ashes to the wind. But, we can all show them our backs. The only time I use Google for web searching now is if I’m at work since our email is pushed through gmail, so it’s kind of “there”. Otherwise, I don’t use it. Deleted the Chrome app from my devices.
Over on the Amazon side, we canceled our Prime membership, and we buy on Amazon if we literally have no other choice (which is pretty rare).
I do not believe that I am alone in this.
Luv that Mickey!!
In my opinion the main reason they are doing this is likely to head off or water down whatever laws are being considered now for protection of privacy online. Not only in various states, but in several countries.
This legislation has grown considerably in just the past 3 months, and our worthless politicians doing nothing about it likely has everything to do with the legislation in other countries.
Google may know they have so many US politicians in their pockets. They may have them in other countries, but all it takes is one country with more guts to protect their citizens privacy. Imagine the headache of trying to comply with multiple laws in multiple countries.
I also think this has to do with Facebook recently having to settle a $650 million class action suit in Illinois of all places. It doesn’t matter that no Illinois resident may have their privacy better protected. It matters that a lawyer smelled blood, went after Facebook and won. No company can last long if a patchwork of states make it easier to file a patchwork of class action suits against them.
I’m fine with all of it. They have gotten a free ride for years with their cozy little swamp rats in their pocket and zero regard for privacy. If they can bend over backwards to censor content in China to protect the ruling thugs there, they can do a better job at protecting privacy everywhere.
A certain European ERP juggernaut has partnered with the hyperscalers (GCP and Azure), to take everything into “the cloud”. Offering sweet deals to “ just let us take care of it for you”. Right. Big Tech + Big Tech partnered with singular goal of controlling the means of production. This is serious sh$t. I hope people in IT wake up to it real fast. Hand it to them and you Mr. Customer have zero leverage or recourse

VERY informative-thanks!
Because of fellow Treepers I haven’t used Google in years!
Instead use Duckduckgo…..and that led to VPN on my desktop……
The best attack to Google’s intrusion you can do yourself is…drumroll… disinformation.
Here’s how it works. You use two browsers. You get Google Chrome for YouTube, and say Google Maps, and whatever else is Google owned that you use. Then use your other browser, with strict privacy features turned on to go everywhere else.
Then, whenever you go on Google Chrome, make sure you go to CNN and spend a couple of minutes clicking on some articles. Guess what happens? Google’s AI tracking gets conflicting information from the little data they get from your private browser and all the stuff from Google Chrome.
Result, they cannot profile you decisively so the AI software kicks you out as a low probable. You don’t sell well, so they don’t sell you (as much).
Done.
Good suggestions, but take it to an even higher level, unless you’rer on a very sadly underpowered system.
Replace Chrome with multiple other browsers, even if they are redundantly based on Chromium, the base open source browser without all the added Google cruft on top. (Brave, Dissenter, the new M$ Edge(which adds M$ spyware and tracking of its own in place of Google’s) are all based on Chromium, not sure if any but Firefox or its variants use a different rendering engine.
Anyway, install several browsers, compartmentalize, make use of both a VPN if possible and private/incognito windows, and have at least one browser where you regularly wipe all cookies & cache., plus use the various ad-blocking and privacy extensions mentioned in this thread.
One may not be able to stop all tracking, but can hamper it to the extent it’s not all that useful.
Trump was removed so now for more propaganda.
Tracking software is (also) embedded in the firmware, in a teeny chip on the MoBo (mother, or system board). Has been so since at least the 90s.
Where are those chips made? To my knowledge, China is involved somewhere in the production of every MoBo made.
At some point, the CCP always becomes involved, and by law the CCP can and does demand data from any Chinese company.
What’s to stop Google from entering into a contract with the CCP for firmware data, and purposed another way?
Hard to believe Google is admitting any vulnerability of anything. Easier to believe this is just another head fake, as they’ve done so many times before.
But, I’ve been known to be incorrect.
From time to time.
google Facebook Twitter are CCP Evil’s,
Entrepreneurs out there will develop ways to topple Google, FB, Twitter….and laugh all the way to the bank thumbing their noses at these social media controllers!
I checked the web stats today. GAB has risen nearly 6000 positions in the worldwide web stats over the last 90 days. Parler has leveled and is slightly declining but is still big in the USA and growing in Canada.
GAB’s steady rise without doubt scares them. It is now being targeted by hackers etc. And GAB is doing it without being listed at their app stores.
Thank you Sundance ! Seeing Mickey display his middle digit has been the highlight of my day !! Seeing google get its comeuppance will be nice too :^)
Very interesting comparison to the chilling message put out by China’s internet control body 5 weeks ago [credit to Bill Bishop of Sinocism]:
“On January 29, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the country’s top internet control body, held a video conference during which the agenda was to make deployments (部署) in order to more effectively regulate and control internet and social media platforms.
Zhuang Rongwen (庄荣文), director of the CAC and a deputy minister at the Central Propaganda Department, told those in attendance that it was essential to implement Xi Jinping’s instructions from the 12th collective study session of the 19th CCP Central Committee in July 2019 – that “positive energy is the general requirement, control is the absolute principle, clever use is the true skill” (正能量是总要求,管得住是硬道理,用得好是真本事 ).
This three-part phrase, which has been shortened also to the nine-character formula “positive energy, control and skillfulness” (正能量/管得住/用得好), points to the need to 1) avoid negative perspectives or criticism in reporting, 2) strictly maintain control over content, and 3) find new ways to make propaganda effective through innovation.
Zhuang spoke of resolutely controlling the “foundation” of the content or article source (稿源) and closing the “backdoor” (后门), referring to content generated by so-called “self-media” (自媒体) on platforms like WeChat without the license to report or publish news. Zhuang said the Party needed to “strictly manage the outstanding problems of illegal independent interviewing (违规自采) and illegal reposting” (违规转载), and at the same time “open the ‘front door’ wide to expand capacity and improve the quality of “compliant article sources” (合规稿源) and “further enrich the supply of online information content” (进一步丰富网上信息内容供给).
To break this language down, Zhuang is essentially saying here that China needs to tighten the supply of unauthorized and critical content now finding space on new media platforms, and to open up space for the distribution of “mainstream,” or CCP compliant, messaging.
So, for this month’s first surprise phrase. As Zhuang discussed these priorities, he said there was a need to focus on the regulation and control of “self-media,” to increase the intensity of discipline actions against non-complying accounts and the platforms hosting them, to ‘let oversight grow teeth, and let violating subjects grow long-term memories.'”
I started using a VPN based in a none “Five Eye’s” country months ago and dumping my browser cache, (History/cookies) upon visiting sites frequently as well…And use a Swiss based anonymous email service…With what’s going on this country since the phony election, I no longer feel secure in expressing my opinions without some elements of anonymity….Even now, I know I can be tracked down if need be.
Its now 14 Eyes countries – 5 eyes plus 9 others. make sure servers are not in those either.

Left Google for DuckDuckGo a while back. Their targeted ads were creeping me out. Use Firefox web browser to avoid the tracking and cookies. Never got into the Twitter and Facebook world. Those who don’t like their policies should just leave.
This is what these dirty, filthy monopolies are doing to us nonstop. Everything we use to get out from under their clutches they use their monopoly to buy out.
So we need to get some AG’s to get the anti trust lawsuits running.
Even the dirtbag Left will join like desperate donkey toothed showhorse Alexandria Conquistador
What I’m referring to is the part of the post where Sundance says that Google is trying to buy the technology meant to get around them called Sandbox.
Everyone else gives in to the bribes Drudge style.
I hope Sandbox are heroes not zeroes.
If anyone with integrity gave a legit alternative to Big Tech they could be our first trillionaire.
I mean it.
Trump should jump on that but so far he always gets infiltrated by the RINOcerouses.
I vote for Sundance to become Trump’s trusty new advisor. Can you guys imagine that? They’d fix the world very quickly.
If “sandbox” founders/creators are smart business people (and not just computer geeks) they would realize they hold more value in the long term by not selling out.
Americans are all about the ‘quick buck’ today. I hope I am proven wrong.
From what I’ve read Starlink is just that, and I doubt they have the money to bribe Elon.
They are testing that system with the public close to where I currently live. Feedback has been good.
I can’t wait to be able to sign-up. I will be on that like white on rice.
Trump too often caves to his daughter and son-in-law, 2 Democrats in his ear constantly. When he lets them override his gut instincts, he proves to me that he is weak. I know, you can let the bashing begin. But that’s what I believe.
President Trump encouraged the House and the Senate to act on section 230 of the communications act. Congress would not give the public the relief that they sought. Now the big tech oligarchs are in complete control to freeze out any ideas that are contrary to their views, Politicians are not out to help the public but rather to feather their own nests.
