I work in the hospitality industry. With the C19 keeping people at home, it’s been difficult to gage how business has been affected since late summer (of course, our busy spring was nonexistent) Summer is usually slow; that continues right up until mid November. Then the flood gates open for the holidays. We are on the cusp, right now. Thanksgiving weekend will be the moment of truth.
While we don’t have the usual holiday party bookings, there are groups/businesses that are having Christmas parties. Smaller and more spread out, but we are accommodating as much as we can. Several of our cliental have alluded to the fact that we offer a space and atmosphere where they feel safe. Safety precautions are visible, but subtle. I think this helps put people at ease.
Our mayor has extended a mask ordinance, but I don’t recall the new date for ending this. He’s a true believer. Some may remember that Gov. Cuomo came to Savannah, met with our mayor in a televised press conference, and shared his story of success. I’m not sure what was gained from that meeting, but supposedly there are mask ordinance Karens, working on behalf of the city, enforcing mask codes. My guess is they operate in the City Market/River Street restaurant and bar area. People are waiting for things to be fully reopened. I don’t think that most people care about masks or the overall threat of getting sick. Any reference to C19 is accompanied with eye rolls and snarky comments.

Daughter is living in Chicago working from home, she has been shunned by co-workers and threatened by her boss (not in writing) for visiting us in Florida for Thanksgiving. Of course the mayor in Chicago rushed to the crowds and screamed through a bullhorn to proclaim a Biden win. If you look at the thread about the two who were threatened in Michigan you get the idea. Everyday the woke populace cancel ordinary citizens at the bequest of their masters. In Florida I don’t expect the police coming for Thanksgiving. Don’t tell anyone but we will gather in a group a tad over 10. WordPress will report me but F them.

Restaurants, health clubs, etc will all have to close for ‘4’ weeks starting friday or saturday – the dining places can only do carryout. I believe there are some bs limits now imposed via mandates about how many people you can have in your home (which of course no libs in power will follow).
And of course, all of the covidiots are happy and celebrating because they do nothing but watch the MSM and so are convinced that covid is the black death.
I am still shocked that there is no louder outcry here about the gov keeping his dictatorial ’emergency’ powers 9 months into a non-emergency.

I have been reading this site for three years now, but only one “wolverine” response previously, as I do not find the time to get everything done as it is! And, that one time I checked both notify boxes and blew up my e-mail as there were a lot of reply’s! So I just enjoy reading the site and continuing my on line education from both Sundance and all the knowledgeable persons that do reply. Thank you both……..

Having said that and knowing this is probably not going to go over well, I have been wearing a mask pretty much since the beginning due to medical (just went through cancer treatment during COVID) and my wife and I care for my elderly parents. I have felt more comfortable, regardless if it was mandated or not (it is now in NH) and I would hope people would respect that.

Other than that our lives are pretty normal. We get out, my wife is a nurse manager at a large regional hospital and has not missed a day of work. I work from home but we have people over, contractors working on house etc. We try to do all we can to protect ourselves so five nights a week we can feel relatively comfortable being with my parents, and we do not wear masks there (at their insistence !). We try to make their lives as normal as possible. We were actually looking into nursing homes last fall….you don’t know how many times they have said “thank god we didn’t go into a nursing home”.

I would say NH has been very lucky in that we have not seen a lot of cases especially in the area we are in. Most deaths have been associated with nursing homes thorough out the state. That is until recently, for some reason the cases are picking up significantly in recent weeks. We have doubled cases per day in last four weeks and they think that will double again within another four weeks.

Having said all that, we will be doing our typical thanksgiving dinner with Mom and Dad along with a sister and husband who live close by. Rest of the family is not traveling but 50-50 whether they do in any particular Thanksgiving anyway. Much of what we do as a family is to protect our elderly parents and we will celebrate Thanksgiving with the knowledge that we have done so without locking us nor them up completely.

It is a balance which I think is reasonable and I would hope is respected. I takes noting away from the Trump signs on my front lawn I refuse to take down and the feeling I have of being robbed of my vote and potentially the Presidency of DJT. It does not sit well with or without a mask!

Here in Kansas City area the Johnson County, Ks Sheriff Calvin Hayden announced yesterday on Mundo in the Morning that the Sheriff’s Department nor the Local PD’s will enforce any WuHan Flu mandates from the State of Kansas and Liberal Lunatic Gov. Laura Kelly. Apparently the Kansas DA is on board with this as well. According to Sheriff Hayden enforcing these mandates is Civil issue for Cities and Code Nazi’s to enforce, not Law Enforcement. Sheriff Hayden’s announcement confirmed some back channel information I had recently received.

I have been lurking here for many a year, all the way back to the Trayvon hoax. This is my first time commenting, and I have a little story that may uplift you some. I live in Southern West Virginia. Our FFFF ( my acronym for what I call him- it’s NSFW) of a Governor recently updated his mask mandate to include “enforcement” of this unconstitutional edict. He stated that those refusing to wear a mask when asked to do so by law enforcement could be charged with obstruction of justice
This made my blood boil. For obstruction of justice to occur, there must be the obstruction of enforcement of some law. There is no mask law. The FFFF admitted such in his public announcements. The Governor can not make law. Period. How then can a LEO legally charge someone with obstruction of justice? If he does so, is he not acting “under color of law” and putting himself at risk both legally and professionally? There are even more considerations.
So I called all my reps, and the State Attorney General. After a little phone tag I was able to speak with someone (they will remain nameless). The person was in agreement with me, and spent a good bit of time answering my questions. It was also implied that the AG’s office was not consulted on this, although some hedging about attorney- client privilege was cited. At the end, I suggested that the the AG should publicly clarify his position on this. 2 days later, this:

I work the night shift (that’s all I can tell you) and NOBODY on my crew has worn a mask since this foolishness started. Not a single person has been off sick. Most of us don’t wear masks anywhere. I am aware of all the hype and deception that has been foisted on the public, as are all my co-workers.I have a big mouth sometimes, much to the chagrin of my bosses and some lazy employees. Maybe it was useful,for once.

I honestly have no idea if our ‘dear’ Governor Cooper (NC) has issued any new mandates concerning the holidays. Our little town’s police and sheriff’s dept stated months ago that they weren’t enforcing crap since it wasn’t legislated into law. The only thing they have done is say someone goes to Walmart and refuses to put a mask on or leave, they will escort you off the property but they won’t do anything else but even our Walmart has said to hell with the corporate office’s mask rule. Basically wear a mask if you want to, don’t wear one if you don’t want to.

Unless New York locks down and prevents people from leaving the state, our daughter’s long distance boyfriend will be joining us for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and I’m looking forward to it!

Contrary to most of the posts we are having a surge in New Mexico. Governor has us on lock down. Most people are ok with it, though you would not know from the traffic on the road.
Yesterday we had 25 deaths, and a 30% increase in reported cases in our most populated county, Bernalillo, where hospitals are at maximum. Testing is an issue all over the state as the test centers are too full. Some people report going to 5 centers without getting tested, others simply give up and go home. The feds are coming in to help with expanded testing as NM cannot seem to handle it on their own.
My grandson when to visit his in-laws where he and his wife picked up the virus. Both he and his wife went to get tested, she never received the test results. Ultimately 7 members of their family picked up the virus from one member, all are at home with headaches, nausea, and no sense of smell. Unfortunately, one is a nurse so there is concern for the invalid patients she was taking care of.
Yesterday I had a zoom meeting with people from around the state, 5 of the 20 people reported friends that has recently died.
Do not take this virus lightly, it is a grave matter.

Things have taken a particularly dastardly turn in Manitoba. We now have a COVID tipster line where neighbours can report neighbours violating the law. There is a nearly $300 fine if you are seen out in the public without a mask. The fines for individuals who violate spacing rules are $1276 and any business that does not force customers to observe COVID distancing and spacing rules can be fined $5000. In order to ensure cooperation on a local level, all funds from these fines go directly to the municipality where the offence occurred. Also and most ominous IMHO, the province has hired 90 staff from a private security firm that is used by the UN to do things like provide security to refugee camps, to go around the province and issue the fines. Local police and health officials are now safe from the horrific public censure they have had to endure. Porotestes and even wrong speech about the pandemic can also result in fines. The new “code red” rules include limitations like no shopping except for essential items as designated by the health minister, no gatherings in any home or other location of more than five people, numerous travel restrictions, and many businesses shut down completely. We have also been informed if we do not behave ourselves, the lock down will be adjusted so the big box stores that currently sell anything will be forced to not sell anything outside of an “essentials” list ending any further in person Christmas shopping. Also Christmas itself is being threatened. If we don’t behave we won’t be allowed to have Christmas. There is much grumbling going on and many rumours but a large number of people support snitching on scofflaws. One of the rumours which I am inclined to believe, was that if provinces did not react this way, the Feds under our glorious leader Justin Trudeau (aka Fidel Castro Jr.) would force these measures on us from Ottawa.

Atlanta, GA metropolitan area here, north Fulton county. Gov. Kemp renewed his executive order of no more than 50, unless you are social distancing. You can’t go anywhere without a mask. Private businesses require this. That said, it does not feel oppressive. Restaurants, bars are open. I do see people without masks out and about. No special holiday restrictions that I know of

Northport, NY – masking has been in place for months for shopping & even house buying – absolute insanity, but then we do have lunatics running this place. You can still eat out – mask in/ mask out, tables are 6ft apart, except for one place that we went to last Saturday, where the people in the booths behind my husband were about 3 ft away, with no divider. That venue must be paying some kind of bribe – because it is the only place where I’ve seen that. I may have posted this before – but my family lives in Queensland, Australia – they had a 5 to 6 week lockdown, no masks, you could still go to the hairdresser & a lot of people worked from home, but my Son & DiL are essential workers. Oh, “In conjunction with the Dept. of Public Health pursuant to Iowa Code 29C.18 and 135.35, all peace officers in the state are hereby called upon to assist in the enforcement of the provisions of this Proclamation.”

A legal eagle I am by no means, however, Iowa Code 29C deals with EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND SECURITY under STATE SOVEREIGNTY AND MANAGEMENT

And, somewhere along the line it appears the Governor proclaimed a state of public disorder emergency (although I have not confirmed but that doesn’t matter, they have themselves covered) giving the governing authorities all the power they need to wreak havoc ensuring a state of public disorder.

It is a virus. No amount of mask wearing will prevent spread of a virus, ever. Convince me otherwise, you cannot. Why? Simple, the air I breath gets through the mask and what is in the air, likewise.

In-person gatherings will be limited to two households with a total of 8 people maximum, bars and restaurants will be closed to indoor service, and fitness centers, pools, and gyms will be limited to 33 percent occupancy.

According to Beshear, the state is launching a $40 million fund to assist restaurants and bars that have been impacted by the restrictions. Those that qualify will receive $10,000 for various costs.

The new restrictions are set to take effect on Friday.

Additionally, all public and private K-12 schools are ordered to cease in-person instruction starting November 23. Elementary schools may reopen on December 7 if their county is not in the red zone.

I was at the post office annex on Tuesday. While I was waiting I noticed a woman filling out a cert mail return receipt and she had two Maryland license plates. She was masked.

Wife and I went to Fredericksburg, TX last week to get away. Place was very crowded, people going about shopping and eating. Outdoors, I estimate that more than 80% of the people were maskless. Going into the shops or restaurants people put on masks, but as they walked out the door the masks came off. Restaurants were very busy as were the shops. Stopped by a winery and brewery, too. Masks when you came in, but once you were through the door they came off. People maintained personal space but it did not feel like social distancing. People seemed to be going about their business in a normal manner.

There were still a lot of Trump signs, almost no Biden signs. The CV hysteria will grow as more of the voter fraud is uncovered. The more it looks like Trump’s chances get better, the more the CV hysteria will grow.

MN has also not updated their models with all this new data since May. This is also on MDH website. Wouldn’t you think an update is in order from the people who claim to make all their decisions using the “data”? Think maybe the new data shows that mask mandates are utter failure?

Also today, MDH website shows deaths at 2961 with 2066 coming from long term care and assisted living. That’s 69.7%! And what does our gov do? More restrictions on healthy people and small business with no new ideas or plans, and same claims as July that “this will slow the spread”. Unfortunately it only delays the inevitable.

Here’s an idea some might try. Massive information campaign saying that masks hardly do anything and we are not requiring them any more. We still need everyone with any symptoms, those at risk, and anyone who feels more comfortable, to wear a mask. (Per original CDC guidance)

Masks are required inside businesses (and have been for a long time) but now almost everyone has them pulled down below their noses so they can breathe. Supposed to be worn outside too but almost no one does.

Next on the dial is “extreme risk” (purple) level — residents are ORDERED to stay at home.

Our governor (NE) has always said that the purpose of any restrictions was to preserve hospital capacity, which was never jeopardized until recently. No state mask mandate, despite much pressure, but more and more cities here are adopting their own; increasing directives on crowd sizes and indoor seating. But now there are compelling Public Service Announcements (PSAs) by doctors/nurses pleading with our citizens to wear the mask, etc. as they are at the breaking point. Friends/family who work in the larger hospitals confirm this. It is getting harder to not wear a mask, knowing the situation in the hospitals, even though I am 90% convinced they are NOT our “best defense.” I have family and many friends who have had the virus with little or no complications so far, with one elderly friend passing with it. My prayer is that hospitalizations suddenly, unexplainedly begin to decrease before a vaccine is in place, so that those of us praying fervently can point to God’s intervention.

Some smaller towns in Eastern NC have little or no enforcement, but older people especially still wearing masks in retail establishments. Younger shoppers not so much. Just when it seems the masks will be discarded, word gets out that another nursing home resident has died or another student at a school tested positive. No one seems aware that the death rate is at seasonal norm as the focus is on the number of positive tests.

I’m in suburban PA. Gov. Wolf has, just this week increased the pressure on mask wearing and Philly has shut down indoor dining in restaurants. I personally think it’s more about trying to avoid people from talking about the fraud in PA and how they voted.

Neither will do any good anyway. Eastern PA was about as totally locked down as possible on March 19th. Nothing was open except grocery stores and a few big box stores and there were lines to get into anywhere and guards to keep the peace. Even before that people were worried. There were cases in schools and they were closed for cleaning. There were a number of very sick people. People were doing the right thing before Wolf’s order. April 2 Wolf increased it to a stay at home order.

Well by April 12, (Easter) people were already deciding that family was important. By May 10th (Mother’s Day), more people were having small gatherings.

People were willing to do 2 weeks, even 3. But more than that and they found ways around it. So many of the shut downs in PA made zero sense. Why couldn’t realtors do anything, but tree guys could work? I knew that people weren’t taking it seriously when I saw people with hair cuts and professional dye jobs even though salons were closed.

Shut down Philly restaurants? People just go to places outside the city, or gather in people’s homes. People know that it’s the elderly and the sick who are most vulnerable and there is a lot of contempt for Wolf and Dr. Levine who like NY and NJ sent Covid patients into nursing homes.

Yes there are some people who are paranoid, but most are trying to work around the rules. It just means that Covid is still spreading. But people with elderly relatives are being careful and not taking risks.

Sea-Tac suburbs: willingness to comply with Inslee edicts, fear of the virus and acceptance of the announced election results depends on ones news sources. I’ve a variety of casual friends from all persuasions and generations and relish the mix. Perhaps gentle civil disobedience will set an example for the youngsters–a la “more is caught than taught.” Could this work for my elders too?

A household of recent college grads we know became exposed, two had mild symptoms and recovered completely. None of my many 70+y.o. acquaintances have been ill with the C-19.

Many small businesses groan under the impact of tight restrictions and are losing hope of remaining solvent. Social clubs we’re acquainted with, e.g. hobbies, square dancing, choirs, conventions and competitions have gone into hibernation. Friends’ elderly parents who passed in 2020 have not had proper closure and celebrations of life.

I’m in St. Augustine FL. Until recently I didn’t know a single person who’s tested + for covid. This week an assistant coach of my daughter’s HS basketball team tested +.

The team can’t practice or play games for 2+ weeks. That’s a lot of practice and games missed. Sucks. Of course I hope the guy and his family are ok. And I hate to sound mean, but he’s not a great coach, the girls don’t like him and now this..

My daughters’s a Jr and has been told she can play in college, but this isn’t helping. And daughter (who loves having an excuse to stay home) thinks she has covid so we’re getting her tested today. I have to drive her. I’m not a young guy (pushing 60)… I’ll be taking my vitamins C, D and zinc!

I haven’t worn mine in Nevada since election day. noticing more people taking them off as well…

County near Lansing Michigan. Hardly anyone wears masks here. Stores have the mask sign but many don’t have them on. Ingham county is a different story. Sheriff is bought and paid for. The corrupt state government issues fines there.
