There have been numerous reports about a new wave of COVID-19 compliance dictates from the state ministry of social conformity. Specifically, there are reports of rules about not allowing your family to gather for Thanksgiving, and/or limiting the number of guests; and/or requiring masks to be worn inside; and/or even forcing guests to bring their food.
All of this sounds like abject nonsense; however, there are also reports of local police and law enforcement being empowered to “enforce” the COVID Compliance dictates. However, as with California Governor Gavin Newsom, do not expect the COVID tyrants to adhere to their own dictates. [STORY] Rules are for the proles comrades.
So with all of that said, what is the current state of COVID compliance dictatorship in your state, county, city, town or neighborhood?
What are the rules around you for this holiday season?
There is a good argument to be made that forcing people to stay apart is one outcome of purpose for COVID-19. The enforced non-assembly rules are historically a part of all totalitarian states, and given the severity of the recent election manipulation we can find a good reason for the ruling class to want to avoid talking to each-other.
73 million people voted for President Donald Trump. No amount of manipulation by the ruling class is going to change that. Their effort to destroy populism will not succeed. Even as we are currently blocking the avalanche of their lies, internally there is a growing resolve.
Don’t forget to provide citations to local articles about the rules being proposed or announced by the Ministry of COVID compliance in your area. Despite our current tenuous status, CTH is still assembling the library of truth.
Live your best life.
Freedom…

Comrade Gavin locked everything down, my family had to cancel a visit, so I bought a bottle of crown royal whiskey, picked up my buddy and we went and shot guns! I’m gonna live my life!
Huh?
We’re having our Thanksgiving… seven of us. We don’t give a darn about Loathsome.
But then, I doubt the OC Sheriff or our local PD give a hoot about Loathsome Gruesome.
We are all good here, traveling to Kalifornia to have Thanksgiving with the Newsoms. At last count there is supposed to be about 666 attendees.
Very true TonyEuropa!
My son, daughter-in-law and grandkids in Ft Collins are planning to drive to locked down Cali to party hearty with one of my other sons and his family for Thanksgiving.
They have also invited a number of other non-related familes who are just friends which brings the number of guests invited to Thanksgiving 2020 California style to about 45 and counting.
The Halloween yard party my son down there had was massive, several hundred parents and kids in the street and in the neighbors front yards, so we will see what he can come up with.
Almost every one I have heard from both family and friends in the creepy Gestapo lock down states are laughing in the face of their insane Governor’s last mandate.
They plan on taking a lot of photos and trying to figure out how to share them.
We think facebook and twitter might ban happy families trying to share their love and enjoyment of each other and the Thanksgiving if the people involved had more than 10 people in a residence by sharing their photos with some of the loved ones who lived too far away to participate or perhaps could not afford to travel.
Covid has caused so many of us to miss visiting each other and facebook has been a nice way to keep in touch.
Would be a real shame if facebook or Twitter kept families apart at such a stressful time like this.
I hate how the politicians are stealing our lives. This is times we can never get back all because those f9879rs are such a$$%$oghes,
Chez moi, Halloween is a good affair. Fog Machines, big inflatables, lights, strobes, you name it. One year the house had been mostly demo’d for The Reconstruction… imagine the possibilities. Another year I built a two story high Castle Door in front of our front door.
This year we only got three kids. I got enough candy to blow my liver to an A1C of 12.
(If you know what that means, yes, pretty much, you’re a walking sweet dead ).
I know Tony, I know.
But we and our kids and grandkids are not dead yet!
We can try and have the biggest Thanksgiving that we can come up with and enjoy ourselves like all of us Red Blooded American Yahoos are suppose to and then when Christmas, our biggest Religious Holiday, comes we blow the doors off.
We will Religiously in the deed gratitude we have for our love of Christ and our Heavenly Father show those creepy governors just how many of our beloved mamas and papas and grandmas and grandpas and grandkids and uncles and aunties we can jam into our homes..
OUR HOMES and they have no business telling us we can only invite 6 or 10 or how many loved ones to our most important Religious celebration of the whole year.
We bow down and pray in our own homes with as many of our loved ones when we want to, how we want to and for as long as we want to and these greasy slimy Democrat ( and some R) politicians are not going to tell me who I can have come and who I can’t.
Happy Holidays Tony.!
A judge ruled today that your gov newscum overstepped his authority on covid, sounds like enforcement immediately null and void. Read it on thegatewaypundit.com 2hrs ago… stay safe and God bless
Today, in NorCal, I stopped at a full service restaurant that had become curb-side/take out cuz of the Newsome nonsense.
Dining room open with social distancing! ?
Asked the General Manager when?/how?…
They said word came down today from the owners.
Very happy to be “OPEN” again!!
A bit uneasy about ordering for the Thanksgiving “Rush”….
Don’t blame them..
Locked Down:
I am in deep blue SoCal, I drive around quite a bit, and what I see is that people are largely getting on with their lives without significant apparent COVID impact at this point. The big changes of working from home and ordering take-out food have been pretty fully baked-in by now. Hair care, nail care, gyms and yoga salons have all adapted to even the latest ‘code purple’ mandates. Home construction and gardeners all look to be fully-occupied. High-rise office real estate space is way down, but technical, electronic and biotech space is in record demand. But…traditional Halloween door-to-door trick-or-treating was a bust last month and, so, I suspect Thanksgiving will also tend to be smaller this year for most families. But: a) people are pretty darn resilient, and b) we have many SoCal residents who don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving anyway. It’s a very ethnically diverse area of the country.
California under the tyranny of Newsom. I texted him that after he checks into jail for a week for violating his own orders/recommendations, maybe we can talk about Thanksgiving. I don’t know anyone who is going to comply. People, for the most part, are ignoring him where I live.
We are pretty much oblivious to Covid issues. The only time we have to wear a mask is when going to medical/dental appointments. While stores (Walmart, grocery, Lowe’s Home Depot etc) have signs saying masks are required, we do not wear them and have had no real issues. This is in rural north Georgia. The closer you get to Atlanta the more you see masks etc. We simply refuse to wear masks except for medical/dental visits and if any store, restaurant etc. requires them we just immediately leave—the same as we do if they have a no firearms rule.
Western NC is pretty much the same. We have new rules to keep Family gatherings to 10 or less until December 5th. People are pretty much ignoring that dictate. The people that have had masks for 3 months still have masks but wear them hap hazard with not problem using hands to adjust them constantly. Stores don’t enforce any mandates, they just put up signs. Social distance is still being tried until you are in the grocery store where all do as they please based upon how much time the y have to shop. Most new cases of the China Virus are very mild with people experiencing symptoms for only a few days at most. My infection by the Virus in March is still maintaining my Antibodies for Covid Plasma donations that the Blood Banks are asking for every two weeks.
Stupid question alert!
How exactly do you wear a mask for a dental visit?
Until the dentist starts working.
The virus knows it needs to behave then cuz mandate
All showing the politicization and authoritarian manipulation of Covid.
I detect a business opportunity — Masks with mouth holes for sale, specially designed for dental visits.
We’re OK here in Arizona… sort of. For some reason, our squishy GOPer of a carpetbagging governor has yet to lock us down again. Maybe he’s stressing out over his lack of control over Maricopa County’s Democrat “officials” who are conducting their version of a count / recount / audit.
Frankly, now that everyone sees that the COVID was just a convenient tool that the Left used to control us – successfully, I might add – to suppress and dilute the LEGAL vote, we’re seeing fewer and fewer masks in public. It’s almost become routine now to enter a store wearing a mask (if it’s required), then as soon as you’re inside the mask comes off… until you’re in line to check out.
Back before the election, there was a 1-in-3 chance that either and employee or a muffled liberal would confront you for daring to show your naked face, but ever since FOX called Arizona for The Big Guy, no one even dares. This whole fracking thing is fracking ridiculous.
Excellent observations—it is crystal clear to me that this has been a partisan political maneuver from the beginning and the “science” that we are screechingly demanded that we follow actually proves it! Masks and social distancing have both been debunked as being effective (enough that is to warrant all the enforcement and virtue signaling).
Hey, jj!
Similar hear, in NW AZ., small town 20 miles from my home. ONE store I went to, had a sign “masks NOT required”, guys there totally MAGA.
All the big chain stores grocery, Staples, etc have the signs, “requiring”, some even have an employee standing near the door, but they aren’t enforcing compliance, AT ALL.
Many without masks, many with. Haven’t run across any karens, yet. Our county is a 2A sanctuary county, lots of carrying, both concealed and open, and while we’re very friendly,,we just don’t like to be told what to do.
The only place I have seen thats required, are the local clinics and hospital. Actually, shoulda been done a long time ago, as they are full of sick people!
The real issue is control, and so testing peoples COMPLIANCE. And I think they are losing,…and its only gonna get worse.
When dictators over reach they, and more importantly their ‘subjects’ learn the lesson of the Velvet revolution.
No government, no matter how brutal or tyranical, can function without the (at least) passive acceptance of the people. If the people “just say no” you can’t kill em all.
Like everything else the enemy has done, its backfiring on them, bigly. Also doesn’t help that these idiot would be tyrants keep getting caught, breaking their own rules.
The next month or two gonna be rough, maybe as long as 6 months after that, but I do see big victories ahead!
Taxachusetts Zombie Dictatorship .Enough said .
About right in blueMA, Avenging Angel…
I am busy living my best life with a few brave souls, but the problem is that so many of my previous friends, and family, are brainwashed zombies themselves and therefore in perma-hiding, won’t get together. They all believe the “spike” lie and that “cases” matter. They’ve all gone to ground already and probably won’t surface until spring.
In fact there is no plan for a family meal together this turkey day – only a walk outside. How stupid. I’ll just cook for the two of us – I love turkey leftovers, so will make it work.
Thankfully I have a few stalwart MAGA girlfriends with whom I do regular political lunches out. And we have a musician foursome with another couple who, though moonbats like most in MA, actually completely understand that COVID-1984 is a scam. They are the only ones willing to come do music with us indoors.
In fact, chances are by the end of the winter we will become a new band to replace one of my other groups, merely on the basis of their lack of ChiCom Virus fear!
My other (truth be told, better) band is still hanging on musically, but doing everything virtually now that it’s too cold outside. They were okay with music in open air all summer, but two of them have elderly parents, and won’t do indoors during winter.
As for what the RINO dictator has done – 2 weeks ago he proclaimed that masks had to be worn outdoors. I am ignoring that – though sometimes when walking into a grocery store in a windy cold parking lot, I put on my plastic face shield just because it keeps my face warm ?. But still very few people in my little suburban culdesac are wearing masks out walking; there’s been no change whatsoever since his latest bs; a few do, most don’t. This is good – I see faint signs there of sheeple lifting their heads and scenting something not quite right…
He also closed down everything at 9:30.
He remains a total jerk, a DementoRat in RINO clothing, and I relish the thought of voting against him in 2022 – preferably with a good MAGA challenger, PDJT in office, and a cleaned up voting system.
Long Island New York
A young woman reports her family had a birthday party for her 84 year old grandma.
12 people but lots of cars.
A knock at the door, a policeman asking if this was the address which was a street away.
When she said no,he kept looking past her into the house, then left.
It wasn’t until a few minutes later, she realized a neighbor must have called the police to report several cars at her house.
True story.
Verified.
Disgusting.
Sorry but no more blue lives matter for that home.
By the way, we are having THANKSGIVING
and just wait for CHRISTMAS!!!
I think you might be coming down hard on the cop — they did leave, after all. They have to investigate calls but they don’t necessarily have to do anything and it sounds like that cop did the right thing.
The Karen neighbors are the real problem.
Something very similar happening to us when we were playing music in a front yard with a group just under ten this summer. A cop stopped and came up to tell the homeowner that there was a stone loose in her stone wall down in the street. But we could all tell he was counting heads and checking how distanced we were.
I suspect that, like the hospitals being tempted by extra $$ to call everything a COVID-1984 case, that cops may be offered easy money to bust on “crona” grounds – they know perfectly well that it’s less dangerous than traffic stops. Human nature to succumb to easy money, and evil of the gummint to use it this way.
I agree with Adam. Cops must answer calls. It doesn’t mean they will do anything when they get there. Cops are no more complicit to this China Flu scam than parents who send their kids to school in masks and businesses that require social distancing.
People who don’t agree will nonetheless comply with unreasonable rules and restrictions, which only perpetuates the problem by lending this plandemic a normalcy it doesn’t deserve.
Ground Report NY: Fascista Cuomo is limiting Thanksgiving gatherings to 10, but there was immediate push-back in the form of a large middle finger. And some nice Italian expletives. AND…According to Sidney Powell, 80 Million Americans voted for President Trump. And she has the proof.?????
I live in NY, and Cuomo is lecturing us in his usual condescending manner about how the spread around the couches will be terrible. We should be “reasonable” and just cancel Thanksgiving and Christmas or he will really come down hard on us if there are the massive increases he wants.
I truly loathe that vile man.
Hey, he’s gonna get a pay raise of $25K next year for being so gosh darn good to u!
Central Ohio: They can fine me, they can threaten all they want. There is nothing that will stop me and my family from celebrating Thanksgiving together. Shameful our Rino Governor is moving the needle left. My 87 year old mother is bringing her 89 year old “friend”. Kids coming from colleges all over.
Why?: Because we are a thankful family. For our Lord, each other and this country which has sustained us and for which we have and will fight to our end.
Gov Mike DeSlime’s latest diktats in Ohio. All of which I shall ignore. Curfew. Gatherings. Makes me wanna barf.

We generally have blown up a half dozen boxes of clays and a few shots by the time most wake up. As I told Menagerie last year: my special thanks giving recipe has three ingredients: cooler, ice and bourbon.
Gonna go shoot next weekend!
Crap I was just reminded if I had ever had any firearms they were lost in a tragic duck hunting capsize.
You, TOO?!
Pretty common from what I hear.
Same here Bucknutguy, along with target shooting and some fireworks left over from the Fourth of July.
None of our neighbors complain since they are all doing the same thing.
Then depending on how much snow is on the ground out comes the sleds and the snowmobiles.
Round and round the snow covered alfalfa field they go until they decide to come in and warm up in front of the wood stove with a cup of hot chocolate.
Bucknut, I have been sidelined for months, very inactive due to a very bad ankle fracture back in July. Last weekend I was able to go shooting with my husband, a wonderful sunny day trip up in the mountains. I probably shot less than 20 rounds, it was mostly riding along on the cart as I still have trouble walking, but what a fun day. The plan is to go back this weekend. Great shooting weather right now.
dotguv Mike De Wino be drunk on his own power. ;>(
What do we have to do to get a good Republican candidate to primary the RINO Dewine? First we have to live with “The Mailman’s son” Kasich, and now this fear mongerer RINO.
Maybe we can have Jim Jordan run?
Well, FIRST find out what kind of election hardware and software your State is using.
THEN find someone, NOT a “Politician” but someone with more than a lick of common sense, and persuade them to run.
Jay Insley said we have to quarantine for 14 days to have dinner indoors with people outside of your own household. He said thie ELEVEN days before thanks giving.
YOu have the option of quarantining for only 7 days but requires a negative covid test NO MORE than 48 hours prior… Most testing is more than 48 hours, some testing is not free, and you cant go out and get a test if you are UNDER QUARANTINE.
STUNNED! This IS the desired effect…. DRIVE THEM NUTS!
Hm. So, is he going to have cops going around checking your quarantine and negative covid test papers?
PAPERS?,…..Papers,….We don’t NEED no stinkin PAPERS!”
[youtube
Am in far South King County (Seattle area) . People are compulsive about mask wearing and when you speak with them, they are terrified of catching the China virus. When I tell them it’s all political, they look at me like I’m from another world.
Our communist governor Inslee now states I can’t travel to Oregon for work without quarantining when I come home.
The disturbing part is that they’ve set up a Covid testing center and you should see the cars driving through. On Veterans Day there were at least a hundred cars lined up clear onto the main thoroughfare. Today, about 20-30 cars. I look in amazement and ask myself what all of these people are doing. It has even crossed my mind that they’re being paid to be tested. Otherwise, why would they go.? Do they think they’ve been exposed? Are they just curious? It’s unexplainable to me.
Am going to friends for Thanksgiving. It wouldn’t even occur to me not to go.
Needless to say, living amongst liberals is a real test of ones patience and coping skills.
We were in Seattle in October to celebrate my granddaughter’s first birthday. There were 8 adults and 2 children at her party in a very small living room. My husband and I ate inside a restaurant one morning, 4 adults and 2 children visited a museum, 6 of us went on a hot tub boat one night, and we also took the kids to a playground one afternoon. Only wore masks to the museum and the playground (masks required outside at the playground even for the kids!) and in the restaurant until our food came.
We never could have quarantined for 14 days because we only had time for a short visit as it was. But nobody got sick with anything.
Maybe we were lucky that nobody had a virus to pass around. Last year when I was there my daughter was sick with some kind of upper respiratory thing and I caught it from her. That’s kind of the way life goes. I had a wonderful time with my daughter and her family on both visits and can’t wait to go again!
Well, as luck or providence would have it, I am now a resident of South Dakota. I never would have dreamed I would end up here. Prior to coming here I lived in PA (Bucks County) and loved it for many years. But you know what? Now I am glad circumstance led me here, what with the insanity in PA since I left. We in SD do not now have, nor have we ever had, statewide mandates for mask wearings or shutdowns. Gov. Noem has left that to the local city councils, etc. How refreshing to be left to your own decisions (freedom) and your own responsibility (rather than placing it on govt). I have to say, at one time I was skeptical of Kristi but now I am very impressed with her – both her principles and her ambition. Her support of PDJT has been admirable. We in the U.S. need many more like her if we are to survive as a Republic.
Cocoa Beach, FL…lots of people in masks. I am usually the only person around in Publix without mask. Folks wearing them outside as well! I am really shocked at grown men being so easily persuaded to mask up. Weird. Really very disappointing considering this is a Red State. I did go out on beach for launch Sunday and had drinks with neighbors afterwards. They are all big time Trumpers and no masks.
Are they people there for “Season”? I am over on the west coast (Marco Island) and it is usually the tourists that are masked up here. Basically no full timers wear masks, the large chains (Publix, Winn Dixie, Lowes, etc) have mask requirements sent down from corporate, but there is no enforcement. Everything is open. I see elderly and obvious people in poor health wearing masks, which is understandable from their standpoint. When I go up to PA, it is like visiting a foreign country, people are actually scared and wearing masks even outside. When I moved to FL, it was my intention to leave my business running in PA with me visiting one week each month, it was so bad with lock-downs over the last 7 months that I got fed up and loaded the tractor trailers and moved everything to FL
It’s amazing how many young and apparently healthy people are terrified. I suppose they were raised to drink the Kool Aid every day, so it’s just more of the status quo.
Sad.
It must depend on where you live Adam.
I am very pleased and surprised to find young healthy people where I live striding around the stores not wearing a mask.
In the check out lines I often have a chance to talk to them and they say they think covid is a hoax and the government is full of sh**
I was in line behind a young mother ( about 30) not wearing a mask and her two young daughters were not wearing masks either.
She said she is becoming more than fed up with the chaos and disaster the school system has deteriorated into.
She voted for Trump and is beyond angry at the attempted Steal.
She complimented me on my mask.
I wear a bright red one that says Make America Great.
I complimented her for not wearing one in the first place and she said she was fed up.
A lot of the people I saw wearing masks today were wearing them under their noses or with the mask only hooked behind one ear so it hung funny.
I think a lot of us are fed up with the increasing and intrusive government mandates into our lives.
On the “orders from Corporate”, I suspect many are taking to the safe ‘middle ground’.
Put up the sign, SAYING that everyone MUST wear a mask. Even place someone near the entrance, to ‘insure compliance’.
That “covers our *ss” from liability,…although the lawyers don’t think anyone could WIN a lawsuit, we don’t want the hassle.
On the other hand, we don’t want fistfights, or to lose customers over this mask crap,…so don’t ACTUALLY enforce it, just LOOK like you are enforcing it,…o.k.?
I think that is what is happening in Ohio since the governor “strengthened” his mask mandate. The signs have gone from “please cover your face before entering” to “MASKS MANDATORY TO ENTER!” Governor plans to fine businesses who fail to ENFORCE! his orders. Now they could just tell him that the customer had some medical condition and that he could not refuse entry based on that according to the GOVERNOR’S OWN ORDERS!
But some businesses do clamp down and have since the beginning. I avoid those places. I feel sorry for people who have to wear masks in order to work though.
I would imagine some might be snowbirds but many are Florida residents. Pitiful.
Tom Fitton locked on Twitter for tweeting about a scientific study of masks. Who’d a thunk it? And merely hours after the congressional testimony of the Ruler of the World – Elect Jack.
Surprised to see @JamesTodaroMD still has his Twitter account. He tweeted out that study earlier today. Had about a couple thousand “likes” erased.
No rules, my family will gather in Texas.
In Michigan we all got an Emergency Alert on cellphones saying new restrictions. Of course they come from MHHS czar, a lawyer named Robert Walker who has zero health experience. Indoor seating in restaurants not allowed. High schools closed. Schools have been closed more or less since March 13th. Our kids are depressed. No sports, no music, no activities. The laptop/zoom learning is canned easy stuff (so no questions to the teachers) take my kids about 10 minutes. Sleep is messed up. No motivation. Weight gained (ok that is just me!)
From a friend, we are in NY

In a yellow zone designation, there are restrictions on gatherings, as well as specific times certain facilities, like bars and restaurants, have to close.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, like Gov. Cuomo, believes bars and restaurants that didn’t follow the state’s rules ended up contributing to the rise in cases.
Watch Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s entire presser here:
What a d-bag NAZI.
I live in Florida!!!! Blessed to have De Santis at the helm here???
They are looking to close down schools again here in my area. Rumormill of all teachers and admins believe they won’t return after Thanksgiving holiday.
Where?
Sundance and the mods have my contact info, but I’m not going to post it here.
Cetera, I’m not interested in your contact info. A ground report has little value without the location…All you’ve told us in your comments is that somewhere on Planet Earth the high schools are closed.
le sigh…
Sundance and the mods know where I’m from. I’ve emailed them before with the ground reports, and I’ve been in contact with them historically on an intermittent basis. They published some stuff from me on the TreeHouse a while back.
I’m not posting my location here in public for you. Sorry. If Sundance and the mods don’t remember where I am, and need to know, they can look at their email history or reach out to me.
I’m providing THEM info if they need it. I’m not providing YOU with info. That’s where the misunderstanding is.
Oh, for heaven’s sake. You can’t say you’re in South Carolina or California or wherever? I wasn’t asking for ME. I was asking in order to make your comment informative for the thousands who read CTH. What’s the point of a ground report when one doesn’t know where the “ground” is? Look at the other comments and try to understand. You write as if you’re writing to Sundance and Admin. and no one else. Sheesh.
Yes, correct, I’m writing to Sundance and the admins. No one else.
No, I can’t say compass direction and state, as that would reveal my location quite precisely. There aren’t any other possible settlement options with even such a vague description.
Confirmed, the local school board has closed the high schools at this point. No action taken on lower grades as of yet.
We’re making Thanksgiving reservations at French Laundry. Newsom’s the turkey.
????
Saint Louis Curry and County (Hi world!) are shutting down again. Outside those areas and the KC area, most of the remainder of the state doesn’t give a s-/t.
They want us to wear masks outside.
“Um yeah, like f-/k you Sam Page (STL County Executive)”

The Pennsylvania Secretary of Health issued new mask and travel restrictions just in time for Thanksgiving. Those coming to PA must have a negative Covid test within 72 hours of arrival or they must quarantine for 14 days. Once here you must wear masks in your own home if you host anyone who is not a regular resident. So much for going over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother’s house.
That secretary is NUTS based on the rules alone.
That secretary is nuts based on…NUTS!
We are having the normal big get together with family and friends. Good food and drink, laughs and football.
We are too Ellis.
We are having a BIG family, extended family and many many friends here at our Thanksgiving get together in Colorado.
Family Friends and Food.
We are going to make the 2020 Thanksgiving a huge one, much bigger than planned perhaps as a “in your face” to the tin pot gods who think they can tell us what to do.
Then we will get together and do it all over again at Christmas.
A great big beautiful Christmas 2020.
I’m spending Thanksgiving with the loving, willing members of my family because we all each other’s company and a good meal. If the administrative state determines that makes us outlaws, then they can expect us to behave like outlaws.
In the Chinese occupied territory
Known as the Garden State
the people who are not heads up thier rectum sheep are starting to get pissed off.
Business owners are not happy with our goofytooth dictator Governor’s latest orders.
Here in OH, the curfew starts tomorrow. Yes, Covid19 is not allowed to infect anyone between the hours of 10PM to 5AM.
SW Ohio here. I’m going to go out and drive around and see what if anything happens.
I’m in Florida. Things are drifting back to normal. I will be going out to eat with a friend IN a restaurant on Thanksgiving. Stores, etc, still have signs at the door saying you must wear a mask but a lot of people don’t and nobody says anything. You will sometimes get a dirty look from some really old lady who is scared to death of COVID and, I guess, doesn’t think the mask she is wearing is enough to protect her. 🙄 Since I am a little white haired old lady myself, I am not intimidated.
“ You will sometimes get a dirty look from some really old lady who is scared to death of COVID and, I guess, doesn’t think the mask she is wearing is enough to protect her. ?”
Sounds like my mother…
LOL. I actually feel sorry for a lot of these old people who have been scared half to death by what they are saying on the news.
I am old. I AM NOT AFRAID of this virus.
Me neither. I’m 74, fat, with hbp. I had it last Dec and I am here to talk about it.
My 89 yr mother is terrified and won’t let anyone into the house.
I doubt I will see her again in this life.
That is awful. Especially when I have no doubt that the HCQ + a few other things can protect and help you heal, but they tried to make all of that unavailable to us.
Also aspirin, to prevent the micro clots, in fact low dose probably would work.
My sister is a lefty loon, so I explained to her what we now know, that we didn’t then.
How EARLY detection and intervention, NOT of those who “have it”, but of the small percent who are gonna get complications.
How they THOUGHT the breathing difficulties were like flu, pneumonia, etc.
Now they know the breathing issues are because in SOME people, although not most (maybe blood type?) it causes micro clots.
Not big enough to cause heart attacks and strokes, they are what initially interferes with breathing, and cause headaches. If not dissolved, eventually cause kidney and liver damage.
Hence ASPIRIN, to dissolve the clots/prevent from forming.
The other rare effect is a “cytocine storm”; for SOME people, the immune system overreacts, releasing inflamagens, can be prevented by Cortisone.
Figure the best way to address unreasonable fear, isn’t by trying to dismiss it, its by giving information. “Helpful” information.
Mind you, this is NOT someone I am going to convince its a hoax,…and as with all the lies of the left, there is SOME truth, used to give versimilatude to the lie.
China DID send a virus. It DOES kill people, and it CAN overwhelm hospital systems.
Only when you don’t know WHAT it is, HOW it works, and HOW and WHEN to treat it.
Thank you for that information. I knew. lot of it, buy not the part about the small clots. When I had it, I had a light headache on the left side of my head. Before it was all over, my left eye had what they call pinkeye but it was blood red. I also had the breathing problem. I take garlic every day. That is supposed to be a natural blood thinner, I believe. I don’t take the asprin on a regular basis because I am like my father, have a tendancy to ulcers, and he almost died three times because of them. It is criminal that they have tried to keep the information and the HCQ away from us.
I’m so sorry and sad that this has taken its toll on your mom. I really feel for you as well. Maybe by Christmas she will look at things a little differently. Take care.
I’m sorry. Praying for her peace of mind.
Yikes. Sit w/ her outside? Socially distanced?
We can’t be so afraid of dying that we stop living. I hope you get to see your mom. This isn’t living.
Thanks all! Mom is stubborn as a black locust post and I long ago accepted reality when it comes to mom’s ideas.
Here is Suffolk county NY on long Island…. (long Island went trump and republican)
Leftist Suffolk County Executive Steve Beeline is now tightening the vise for payback….
As new statewide restrictions go into effect Friday mandating that all bars, restaurants and gyms must close by 10 p.m., new enforcement teams will be out in Suffolk County to ensure businesses comply, County Executive Steve Bellone said.
The new restrictions also limit the number of individuals allowed at indoor and outdoor house parties to 10, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this week. Restaurants will be able to serve curbside orders after 10 p.m. but no alcohol can be sold to-go, Bellone said.
Each of the six new enforcement teams will include one fire marshal and one staffer from the consumer affairs division, Bellone said. Those teams will be informing and educating, as well as issuing citations for egregious violations, Bellone said.
In addition, contact tracing efforts have been amped up, with an additional 200 case investigators now onboard. The goal is to reach all positive cases within 24 hours, so that individuals can quarantine and prevent community spread, Bellone said.
There is also an “army” of 1,000 New York State contract tracers working on Suffolk County cases, he said.
More….to add from above…With the recent surge in coronavirus cases in Suffolk attributed to Halloween parties, Bellone said with Thanksgiving coming, it’s more important than ever to take precautions, such as staying outdoors, limiting the sharing of food, and testing for COVID before traveling.
“Small gatherings that seem harmless could lead to a spreader event,” Bellone said. “We’ve seen that happen in Suffolk County. Cases are surging nationally and Suffolk County is not immune. Now is the time to double down on common sense measures that work. We are one 14-day quarantine period to Thanksgiving.”
The recent surge and “alarming spike” in numbers included a positivity rate of 3.8 percent in Suffolk County Monday, a far cry from the 1 percent where the county has hovered for months, Bellone said.
“We are entering a dangerous period. We’ve long talked about the possibility of a second wave in the fall and it feels like where we are,” Bellone said. “People traveling and getting together with family and friends indoors for long periods of time is exactly what this virus needs to spread.”
I”m in California.
I don’t give a rats a$$ what Newsom wants. At my house, we’re having an “old Normal” Thanksgiving. not a “new Normal” Thanksgiving.
No masks in the house and no social distancing at the table.
But!!… expect a super duper champaign Turkey dinner as only I can dream up!!
Some immediate family accepted, some no. To each his own.
I’m in San Diego. The rules are stay home, three families allowed (I say we are all one BIG family), must eat outside, only two hours to eat then must go back in house and put mask on between bites. I have no intention of abiding by these rules. I wrote this letter to the editor of the Union Tribune: “Since we have now moved back to a more restrictive tier for COVID, I think we should give serious consideration to these reinstated guidelines. In fact, I think we should all take them as seriously as our own governor does. He attended a party at the famous, pricey Michelin-starred restaurant The French Laundry with about a dozen people. He apologized afterward saying he “made a bad mistake” and shouldn’t have done it. Hey, that works for me. I’ll do exactly what I want to do and apologize later. All good.”
I know he will not publish it but I sent it anyway because he at least HAS to read it and that makes me feel good.
Tucson AZ–masks are still mandated in stores and gyms and restaurants are still under rules for limiting customers. So far as I know, we haven’t had any new guidelines released for holidays, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they did so at some point. We generally don’t do anything since the kids are grown and not around. I have now witnessed 3 different incidents at different stores of older people like me being confronted and harrassed over not wearing masks/wearing them improperly. So I always wear one when going to stores as I have no desire to be assaulted.
But shortages are becoming evident here. Cat litter stocks are low everywhere, pet foods are lower stock than normal. TP has disappeared over the last week again along with paper towels, bleach, wipes, etc. Obviously canning jars and lids are nearly impossible to find unless you want half pint standard mouth ones, though I did get 1 case of wide mouth quarts the other day.
I don’t think a lot of people realize just how badly our supply chain is faltering at the moment, or just how much damage lockdown 2.0 will cause in terms of day to day supplies. There is an ongoing and tightening aluminum drink can shortage. Lumber prices are still going up fast, and will be for some time. Powdered milk, infant formula, protein shakes, and many other things are now being routinely stocked at lower levels and have been for months.
SE TN. I can report shortages of 9mm rounds throughout the area.
No ammo anywhere around here in any common size in forever. Everyone is hoping and preaying the gun shows happen, but it looks like they won’t. Our Rodeo and Gem Show in February have already been cancelled, and since they are world famous this will drop at least another 50mil easily out of our economy. Our personal business is dead now. 30+ years in operation down the drain.
I wasn’t seeing it 2 weeks ago, but numbers are definitely surging here in St Louis. In our small community hospital from 2 weeks ago our ICU census has increased from 2 to 12. I am seeing a similar increase in positive chest radiographs and CT’s. I’m reading ER studies tonight and have seen alot, including one with multiple pulmonary emboli. We have gone from 17 deaths this year to 25 in the last week. I am currently reading from home as my wife tested positive last week. She was symptomatic for about 5 days, symptom free for the last 3-4. Despite sleeping next to each other during the time when she would have been most infectious, I have remained negative.
paulinstl says: care to offer ages?
…………and yet no one who drives a car has stopped yet the odds are tremendously higher you will die in an auto accident than covid.
I have never argued that trying to lockdown a society make sense, much less whether it is constitutional. I think no and definitely no. I am just giving an accurate update of what I am seeing with respect to COVID this week. Don’t fall into the trap of changing reality to fit your ideology. Anything which is true and worth believing should have no issues with confronting and withstanding reality. If it can’t endure criticism it is probably not worth following.
The disease has truly accelerated here in the past couple weeks. I wish it hadn’t, but it has. On the plus side in my subjective opinion, for the number of cases we are seeing, the ratio of severe to mild cases appears to be decreased relative to March-June. Whether that is the virus evolving to be less virulent or due to lower viral loads of inoculations due to changes in behavior or some other reason?
@paulinstl Please forgive me if I came across as argumentative. Was not my intent. I’m just wondering if you have the ages of the images you read? It seems that the most at risk have comorbidities. I nearly died last year from DVTs and CHF both caused by a procedure gone wrong. I’m fine now and at 68 I’m going to live and not worry about dying.
Most of the serious cases and those in the ICU are 60+ although there are a few pretty bad cases for some 40-60. It’s still difficult to get an idea of what proportion of the lung disease you are seeing is acute pneumonia and what will remain as chronic lung damage. I’m pretty confident that it will correlate with what we are seeing with death rates and that the vast majority of the disease that we see radiographically with younger people (which is probably already a small percentage of those who get the disease) will normalize. In any case, some lasting observable lung damage is of only academic interest, as I think we can see through experience that the vast majority of those who recover do so with no real world physiologic consequences that we can see in daily life.
If you live in the central United states I would venture to say if I looked at your chest CT there is about an 80% chance I could find at least a couple calcified nodules which are evidence of lasting lung damage (albeit on a very small scale) from prior histoplasmosis infection which we will all experience at some time.
I just turned 52 yesterday. I’m not looking to get it by taking unreasonable risks, but then I’m not turning my life upside down either. i think you balance your changes to your risk. Despite what I presume to be now a very small residual risk, after 5 days of her being asymptomatic, I will be leaving the basement bedroom tonight and going back to life as normal with my wife. As I told my CNN watching mom who is 80, You can shelter in your cabin and forgo seeing friends and family for a year and mitigate a 5% chance of death if you catch the virus, but you probably also have a 5% chance of not ever seeing them in person again if you otherwise don’t live to 81. Say you live to 83. You have just traded away a third of your remaining life. I think it boils down to balancing a realistic assessment of both risks and costs for each individual.
False positive tests are likely the culprit. My mother-in-law has tested positive THREE times over 3 or 4 months when she went in for an unrelated problem. They put her in covid unit with NO SYMPTOMS, thereby, exposing her, delayed her surgery that five minutes before the covid test was a “must do today!!!” then all of a sudden, not so urgent. The only time she tested negative was when she went to a different facility to get a test. So, twice put in covid unit (second time when they decided the should do the surgery after all about 6 weeks later) Never had any covid symptoms and she is mid-80s, high risk health categories. It is BS. Period.
These are not false positives. These are tested, clinical and radiologic positives that I am seeing. You can clearly differentiate COVID pneumonia from other common lung diseases. I’m not saying false positives don’t occur. They do, and when testing 100,000’s of people, even a good 2% false positive rate would give you 1000’s of false positives. My wife definitely had COVID. She has quarantined from the rest of the family for about 5 days now. She has been asymptomatic for 4 days, so we are going to go back to normal as her chances of spreading should be low now and I deem it an acceptable risk. Kind of wish I had tested positive as it would make my life easier going forward.
“multiple pulmonary emboli”,….in plain dnglish that means CLOTS in the lungs.
For SOME the virus causes micro clots in the blood. They start out literally microscopic, and if unaddressed, grow bigger.
First signs are shortness of breath, as these micro clots interfere with the gas exchange in the lungs. Also headaches, also caused by these micro clots.
EARLY intervention is key, with ASPIRIN. The usual treatments for breathing problems do no good, cause its not about congestion, or fluid in the lungs.
I have been taking a baby aspirin every day since my wife tested positive as a precaution. At 52 I should probably be taking one every day anyways but I don’t. Small clots that are difficult to see even with CT and which then dissolve are probably not infrequent. There is some controversy whether you should even treat someone for an incidental isolated small clot you happen to find in an asymptomatic individual as standard anticoagulant therapy (more than aspirin) does have not insignificant risks on it’s own.
Filtering small clots out is a normal function of the lungs. When young people have strokes they almost always are then found to have otherwise undetected defect in the heart allowing the clot to bypass the lungs and travel to the brain. We all likely have similar small clots over the course of our life which get filtered out on a regular basis.
More cases than usual at work lately. IL and OR sites had no cases until recently, last two weeks. PA and CA sites similar slow and consistent for months now.
quarant is the root word for turkey.
ine is the root word for eating.
I will be doing a lot of quarantining this holiday.
Rural Southeast Ohio. COVID is up in the county – currently 51 active cases and 177 under quarantine. Had first death since July last week. Nonetheless, mask edicts are being ignored by about half the shoppers at our little supermarket. Checkout clerks of course masked. Market isn’t making any attempt at enforcement aside from sign at the door, Sensible people. Even mid-day on Monday there were no more than a dozen live bodies in the aisles, including the employees. We have no sit-down restaurants, except MickeyD’s. They seem to have the seating area closed off. Traffic at takeout windows seems higher than usual. Was at my auto repair shop again today. No masks. Local health dept. being very close about who is getting sick. Schools still open. Maybe it’s being brought home by people who work outside the county?
Active cases mean what exactly and do you trust the stats to be accurate considering who does the math? DeCline can burn in hell. I hope.
Sarcasm alert;
The case #’s are being tracked by State employees, using the software developed by Smartmatic, expressly for the purpose.
How anyone can possible question this, is beyond me! Do you honestly think an incredibly large # of Statecand Federal workers, would conspire to mislead and decieve the public, about something this important?/S
Gosh what was I thinking?
/s
You get more of anything subsidized. I wonder if medicare additional payments for “covid” patients could have any effect on reporting? Nah that would be silly…..

Kentucky, Andy baby says we cannot have any more than 4 people for Thanksgiving. Back to no restaurants dining inside-carry out only is back. Masks every where we go. Requests schools close (local supers control this and so far they refuse to).
I saw a very large roadside sign, in town, as I drove through Canby, OR this afternoon.
A blue cloth mask was the centerpiece. The large text simply said, “A cloth mask does not stop any virus.”
It was put up by a Candy Medical Group (I think a concierge type operation). Nice to see.
….a Canby Medical Group…..
A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.
East TN – case counts up and virtual learning in schools may be back on the docket in some places. Extended mask wearing until the end of the year. Dumb as dirt. Masks do nothing except disguise one’s face and make the wearer sick from breathing their own bacteria in and lowering oxygen levels causing headaches and worse.
So we will will be having our traditional family Thanksgiving this year. Which will extend into Christmas get togethers with family friends as well. Business as usual – the authorities can go pound sand.
In GA, having Thanksgiving at my house with everyone. Was a little fatigued thinking about it but once I kept hearing the media suggesting it should be cancelled, I decided I was going to have the best Thanksgiving ever with the people that I love.
I don’t know of any restrictions here and if we had them, no one would follow them anyway. Aside from the election shenanigans, GA rocks.
Massachusetts:
Governor Rino Baker ordered new “measures” to take effect on November 13. These amount to a curfew on all bars, restaurants, and “places of entertainment” forcing them to stop service after 9:30 PM. This order predated, but appears to have been in conjunction with, the other reinstated “measures” taking place across the East Coast states. We haven’t gone “full lockdown” again but I am expecting it to happen and am planning accordingly.
I haven’t seen any other person maskless out in public. Everyone else has their symbol of Collective Social Responsibility plastered across his or her face, even when not required.
Over the summer there was a noticeable decline in people wearing masks, but it appears the manufactured “second wave” driven by mandatory repeated testing of college students in Boston has had its desired effect. To put the scale of this testing in perspective, the broadcast team covering the BC-Notre Dame football game mentioned the *BC football team alone had undergone over 7,000 tests so far.* And those tests cover only about a hundred or so people out of hundreds of thousands of individuals involved in the Boston higher education system.
No rules as we are in McKinney, Texas!!
I heard that Ralph Northam had restricted us even more but he can KMA. I can’t tell you how pissed off I am about this phony hysteria over something that has a 99% recovery rate just so they can control us. What they’ve done to the people to the families of the people who died alone and scared is unforgivable and that’s just a start. God help us and God help President Trump. He’s all that’s standing between us and ruination.
Here in Virginia too.
Northam has had 2 pressers in one week.
Starts out by saying how great we are doing then says we need more restrictions! Restaurants ,bars must close by midnight stop selling alcohol by 10. Many owners in Richmond are saying it’s the death knell for their businesses.
Then hes making children 5 and up to wear masks indoors. Before it was age 10. And he said anybody not obeying will be criminally charged with Class I misdemeanor with $2500 fine and or jail time.
That was his first presser last week. Today he says try not to go outside home to see families for Thanksgiving.
He rattles off data which I do not believe. He cited El Paso with their morgue mobiles to say he doesnt want that to happen in Virginia.
Invoking fear– that’s all they are doing. And its killing small businesses! The big box stores are raking it in.
This has got to be their agenda. Small businesses are the backbone of the middle class and Main street livliehoods.
Also we are mandated to wear masks indoors.
They’re all crazy. If the legislature didn’t pass these “laws”, he can’t fine anybody or put them in jail.
New here in Iowa, our normally wise Governor Reynolds has caved and called for a mask mandate. She did say she was not going to use police staff to enforce it. Schools are going remote for a while. Everyone but me is wearing a mask everywhere I go, yet the covid rates are rising. That tells me right there that masks don’t work, but they’re going to enjoy them for awhile anyway. No changes for Thanksgiving for us!
The dirty rotten filthy S.E. tricounty democrat enclaves (Palm Beach, Broward, Miami Dade) continue to drive Florida’s numbers–it has never stopped. The Sun-Sentinel is doing their usual bitching (attacking DeSantis) today for a mask mandate derived from some isolated whining leftist Mayors in St. Pete and areas surrounding Miami, right on cue. The rest of us have a pair of middle fingers for them.

I live in central Fl. Lots more people not wearing mask in the stores. Like if you want to wear it fine, if not fine… Stores are packed with shoppers like any other holiday time. Most food is still in good shape. I have seen it run out at thanksgiving last year without China flu around. Eggs was low but they still had some. Here at my stores I have not been able to find peanut butter with honey in it for awhile. I couldn’t find grape jam either. It’s like they don’t even have a place on the shelf for it anymore. I’ve not been in the paper goods for awhile, but I am going to need paper towels soon. All the restaurants are open with indoor dining also. We have a good governor here…so far. He said they will be no shutdowns here again. I think the kids are a mix for school. I see some at the parks in the day and some at school. My husband has been working like normal all year. He is a industrial electrician.
My grandkids and kids live in northwest Georgia. My grandson had to stay out of school for 10 days because he was supposedly around someone that had it. It was about a month ago. I went and got them for fall break. He never had symptoms. Now my youngest granddaughter was out last week for the same. She hasn’t shown any symptoms either. They are all in ball. They have been playing and even the school games are back to normal.
I pay no attention to our illegitimate Governor Cooper in NC. I do what I want to do when I want to do it. I do not read the local news…I accidentally heard some today about red counties, orange counties, and yellow counties..immediately turned the the sound down..just another scam to pay off hospitals and nursing homes…give it a break….I would rather die free than live like a slave.
Last week I had some time to just kick around so I went to the Habitat for Humanity store where most of my furniture same from and this guy at the door said, we require masks, (first time that happened) so I turned around a left..who cares, didn’t need anything anyway, and do you believe they sell used furniture and stuff and then they tell me they care about my safety..what a joke…did they disinfect every thing in the store…guess they are thriving and don’t need my money..haha.
Any way, in NC we went from phase 3.5 to phase 3.0 because the hospitals and nursing homes need money..when will Trump figure it out…stop the testing and cut off the money..and voila , no more covid…
Here in New Braunfels Tx I was disappointed to see our Hinman Island Park barricaded by the city with the tall chain link barriers. I took it as a bad omen. Not sure why it was done as the city was not available for comment. This is also not really heavy tubing season but obviously no one is allowed to enter. I agree with another poster about supply chains. They never completely recovered from shut down 1. Am finding almost no Sheba catfood and some products are hit and miss. Word is t.p. is scarce. Have had to order from Chewy.com to make sure pets are fed. Everyone here still planning on celebrating Thanksgiving. Feeling Abbott will bend the knee to his democrat BFFs I ordered a power rack, a barbell, and weight plates. I cannot endure another gym shutdown.
Central NH report:
Relatives decided months ago no family gathering.
We are celebrating at our house with our more nuclear crew.
If family changed their mind, we would be there with turkey on…. but alas, some are ruled by fear and not facts.
Locally, “cases” are up, if you buy any of what these tools are saying.
Masks have been more imprinted into the NH culture. I finally broke down and got one of those neck scarf types. I’m hit or miss on wearing it. I do enjoy not wearing it at times and watching the discomfort, but for the truly imbecilic who cant digest simple science, it’s not a conversation worth starting.
We have Governor Moonbeam II here in NH.
I’m really hoping Veritas has a camera on the SOB and records his gathering.
Plastic face shields still working well for me.
Getting more and more comments on it and they are always “I like that!” Also got my friend to wear them. When people – usually young ones working in stores and groceries who I’m sure HATE their masks by now – point it out, I always get them to read the label messages I put on the shields and often get great laughs.
The medical appointments always make me switch to a paper mask, and I’ve had friendly arguments with all of them because the plastic covers a wide area and is obviously more impervious to direct exhalation.
Of course I know perfectly well that none of it matters and that nothing will stop a virus. I just prefer being able to breathe and to smile!
San Jose. Idiots are starting to clear all the store shelves bare again. They start with toilet paper and cleaning products, then move to the meat section eventually.
County/State regulations are getting stricter about workplace contact tracing. Now quarantine is not enough to get back to work, they want a negative result on covid test. I got quaratined because I showed up in someone’s contact trace, had my badge deactivated. Tested negative at the HMO drive through, results took 3 days. Badge reactivated, total process took about a week, end to end. Pain in the a$%.
I think as companies become more savvy and efficient about the testing and tracing process, the state will just clamp down harder. After all, the goal is to stifle the economic activity as much as possible.
The goal is to see how far they can push and yet have people comply with this nonsense. Then the next time they want to do this for any arbitrary event it will be a little bit more.
Here in the Hoosier heartland, our Mini-Mussolini seems to think he can “manage” this thing by county “numbers.” Seriously one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Different rules for Indy and the surrounding ‘donut’ counties (as we call them). Moronic. Absolutely moronic. Honestly, no one’s paying much attention to this bozo now.
Dont know or give a crap about any illegal rules for the holidays. I spend my time engaging with others at various job sites who also believe that all this crap is a hoax.
The CDC has stated up to 90 percent of cases are going unreported in the United States. Doesn’t that mean north of 115 million Americans have already contracted the virus?
One would expect cases to fall as more and more people are surrounded by people who have gained immunity. That’s how the science works, folks.
My niece told me that Allegheny County in PA is going on lock down, so i’m assuming that the whole state is going on lock down. Here in Orlando, FL, same old, same old, nothing has changed, but I did notice limits being put on items at the grocery store again. Also, my husband said that he is seeing an increase in COVID patients, but very few need to be hospitalized.
Going to Antigua for Thanksgiving! Hurrah! Third time moving the dates; we are
leaving Illinois come hell or high water! 75-80 degrees here we come. Mask wearing
is mandated in restaurants and shops; not on beach or pool. Required to have a
negative Covid PCR test for entry in to Antigua.
If Pritzker closes the Chicago airports (he wouldn’t dare) we are driving to Miami
for our connecting flight.
It’s been many years….but if it still goes on try to go to Shirley Heights and listen to the kettle drums on a Sunday afternoon!! ?
