NW Oklahoma, small town life hasn’t changed much around the 300 homestead. Our public schools seem to be getting hit. All 3 of my children tested positive with losing smell as the only side affect.Pretty sure I have it right now, Lost my smell and taste last week had chills for 12 hours with no fever. Mrs 300 is a rockstar she never ever get’s sick. A few deaths I’ve heard of but most are having mild to no symptoms.

Northern Illinois here. I don’t want to get sick, so I don’t wear a mask unless I absolutely have to. Then, I wear it just under my nose. I’m planning on getting together with other mask free friends for food, drink and maybe cards. Good times, good food, and fun. we all ignore prickster.

This year, Thanksgiving with the folks as usual but Friday morning the gang, individually, heads to camp in upstate Pa. for a week of Deer Season. Been carrying on this tradition with the same group of guys for forty plus years.

Deer Season has always been a big deal in Pennsylvania. Including this year….Wolf be damned.

One side note…This year one of the guys, a Vietnam Vet who fought “in the sh*t” and who has also conquered both Agent Orange AND colon cancer because of it, has tested positive at the VA and is staying home only because he seez “I don’t want to pass on to the old guys”.

That’s what is called “personal responsibility”.

That is what big brother doesn’t understand that we peons do for each other.

I am in Maryland near the beach. We wear masks in stores and in church. Most of my community meetings were canceled or done through zoom. My book clubs just started but we can’t meet in our homes and use a church hall which is much larger so we can sit with some distance between us. Our schools just opened but are closing again since there has been a spike of cases. I do know of two people in the last two weeks who have covid but I do not know them well enough to know how ill they have been. We were in contact with a carpenter who had contact with both of them, though he tested negative both times. My husband and I are planning travel to NJ to have Thanksgiving with my daughter and her family. We promised her we would isolate prior to our visit. It is worth it to me to spend time with my family. I have missed spending time with my granddaughters. We facetime frequently but I want no masks, hugs and cuddles. My oldest granddaughter has had online classes since last March. She went back to school on Monday for the first time and they have already announced they are back online until January. She is a junior in high school. It is devastating to think she has missed a year of high school. She is a good student but learning chemistry from a video isn’t sufficient. My four year old is in pre-k. She goes to school two days a week and is online two days a week. Since her older sister’s program was shut down, hers may be too though she started in September with a very limited class size. ( 2 children !).
Covid is a strange disease. A friend’s husband in NJ was ill in April. He had a very high fever for a week with congestion. He stayed at home but had a zoom visit with his physician every day. My friend and his adult sons were never ill. My nephew had covid in the summer. He had low fever and a heavy cough and a loss os taste and smell. His wife said she just ached all over. It was agonizing and her back pain was horrible. Another close friend had a fever of 105, went to the hospital for dehydration but went home after receiving an IV. Thankfully all have survived and their age range was late seventies to mid thirty. God’s will, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.

California native and here I stand. Family coming in from 2 states. We have a big turkey, and all the fixings. We are going to celebrate and be very thankful for all we have and for being together. Will not comply with this nonsence.

I live in central, rural Arizona..cases have spiked a bit, but none of us are too bothered and do what we want. We are still getting together; the weather here here should allow outdoor dining. Statewide, we have a governor who is not inclined to shut is down or mandate. Our school superintendent wants a mask mandate and mandatory quarantine for our winter visitors. I pray for all who are in those states where the radicals will really try to police Thanksgiving…

Hello from Las Vegas. The weather here is grand, the politics are not. I really have no confidence in our “system” in Clark County. Somehow they are still counting votes? Are you kidding me? On a lighter note. I have a coin store. Today a customer sold some Au to me and wanted me to put the cash in a baggy. This customer also called me I was crazy for not wearing a mask. I do not wear masks. I guess she will quarantine the cash. WOW So I guess here in Southern Nevada the BS “cases” are going up but no one is actually sick. In North Idaho about half of us reject all mask rules. While the Governor Brad Little is a uniparty tyrant, he is far too inept to actually live out his dream of dictatorship unlike Gretchen Whitmer, Adrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsome. Brad Little is mostly despised and/or ignored regarding his “royal edicts”. When it comes to rules for businesses. But nearby Washington State is in full compliance.

Franklin County, Ohio (excluding city of Columbus and Worthington). We are under a stay home advisory- we can only leave our homes for work, school, medical care, groceries, medicine and food pickups.

As of today, we have had 201 deaths and 606 hospitalizations since the “pandemic” started in March. Our stores are limiting items, and warehouse clubs are empty on the necessities again.

My elderly parents won’t be coming for Thanksgiving due to major health concerns- I don’t want it to ever come back that myself, hubby and daughters caused them to contract the plague.

On the subject of my parents, they had no idea that the truckers were planning a “strike” at the end of the month. Please advise any older members of your families that this could happen and to plan accordingly. We are spoiled by the knowledge that is shared here, but tend to forget that most of the US is clueless.

In Portland OR, within a couple of miles of ground zero (where the ever-present “protests” occur), it’s quiet. The neighborhood feels empty even if it isn’t.

The governor has decreed a “pause” of two to four weeks duration varying by county. A “pause” is like a semi-lockdown. Some businesses are closed, like gyms, others are open with limitations.

This dictate supposedly reflects an increase in covid-19 “cases” throughout the state. Not clear about what constitutes a “case”, testing positive is not necessarily a sign of illness, infection or contagion. Depending on the test (and several are in use), rate of false positives can be high.

In any case many people are running scared well beyond what reasonable precaution would suggest. Consequently, all of the group of friends with whom we’ve usually celebrated the holidays have bailed on us, my wife and I are all on our own this year.

But like I said to my wife, it’s really for the best. After all in these parts gullible leftists are legion, unavoidably there are a few (or many) in any bunch of people. With the election residue being such an awful smelly mess any conversation about the state of things was bound to get ugly. And I really have no need or desire to go there, especially around the Thanksgiving table.

I might invite people to a “virtual Thanksgiving”, which is only practical considering family and friends are living all over the US. On the plus side, the “visits” will be brief, self-limiting and and “safe” as can be. After all, that damn virus can’t get through wires and computer screens.

At least I don’t think it can, but who knows how many think it’ll get ’em anyway…

Shockingly, today Ducey actually stood his ground and did not cave to the left wing media and the progressive mayors here in AZ. He refused to issue a statewide mask mandate since the local municipalities already cover 90% of the populace. No other tightening measures were put in place or updated. His Health Minister is the one to watch and could amp up lock down measures covertly IMHO. Better here than in NY, PA or any other progressive hell hole!

Governor Rinunu extended the mask suggestion edict last week until at least January 15th in New Hampshire. To all those who wish to waterboard election fraud perpetrators with soy milk on previous thread, i suppose Wuflu lockdown warriors can be added to that bunch, however, I believe that such torture for males will only enhance breast enlargement. But, I say they already act as boobs and don’t need any additional assistance.
No enforcement will happen on Thanksgiving here.

I live west of Atlanta. My 26 year old daughter in law attended her grandmother’s funeral last Friday. A family member was sick but tested negative and attended the funeral. A day after the funeral the family member was retested the day after the funeral and the retest was positive. So far there are 10-12 who attended the funeral that are sick that have also tested positive. My daughter in-law is now sick and waiting on her COVID test results. She lives with me and is sick but it is not overly bad. I wash my hands and Lysol the counters but I refuse to wear a mask. From what I have seen shutting down the country, canceling Thanksgiving can be described with one word INSANITY.

Funny you should ask, Sundance…..our Thanksgiving has been completely cancelled as hubby and I have the wuhan! I am crushed that I will not get to see my kids and grandkids. We have mild cases—low grade temp, mild chest congestion. Since we lost taste & smell, we’ll probably pick up a burger on Thanksgiving! ?? Marion County Fl here. The wife and i will be traveling to Tampa for Thanksgiving dinner with our daughter, son in law and two wonderful children ages 4 and 3 months. Our other daughter and son in law with their beautiful 3 year old girl will be traveling from Georgia to join us. We in UK currently on second lockdown . Except most things are carrying on as normal . Hospitality industry targeted and hairdressers although they are not a huge source of infection. Everything else seems to be open.It doesn’t make any sense unless you understand they have closed anywhere that people gather and talk to each other.

Very sad. My sister and I have been together for Thanksgiving for over 70 years. In 2020 she became a hermit. She believes absolutely that if she or her husband get covid, they are dead. Their lives are at stake. My husband and I just can’t be trusted to “take reasonable precautions” as what we think is at stake is freedom . The end of civilizations also is the end of smaller, but still precious, things.

Connecticut’s Gov. Lamont (Is he REALLY our governor after all we know about the voting machines?) has put some CT businesses back to Stage 2. Restaurants will now move back to 50% capacity and must close by 9:30 p.m. He is urging people to only celebrate Thanksgiving with immediate family members.

Western Montana here. Failed Senate Candidate and current Governor Steve Bullock has ordered mask wear for all 56 counties, bars, restaurants and casinos to go to 50% capacity, to be enacted this Friday. Paper shortages starting to show up in stores. State legislators meeting in Helena are mostly ignoring mask and social distancing rules in the Capital building. Be glad when Bullock is out of office.

About 100 miles north of Seattle. As of last Tuesday, we can’t allow any non residents into our homes. The good news is if we wanted to, we could invite up to five people to stand in the rain outside. This dictate is not enforceable and everyone knows it. Just gov. Inslee’s way of showing us how powerful he thinks he is. Retail outlets are reduced to 25% occupancy limits. This will kill many of them. Some schools open.

Some potential good news though. Rumor has it Loren Culp will sue the state and demand a recount and hopefully become Governor.

Our Governor Tony “Low T” Evers of Wisconsin held a press conference last week. Beforehand it was rumored that there was going to be a lockdown. Turns out he pleaded and begged and virtue signaled for people to stay home but no mandate. Life goes on. There are few laughs with the seriousness of our country’s situation but I get a kick of seeing completely isolated sheeple wearing their masks driving, walking outside, etc.

Stores are mobbed with folks buying up every Christmas decor item with the same speed and efficiency that caused toilet paper to disappear last February. Hobby Lobby looked like Muhanga prison. TJ Maxx took the stupid directional stickers off the floor, but the robotic lady voice lecturing on social distancing and face covering over the com is still an annoyance.

Thanksgiving is homebound and quiet anyway so no difference for us, splurged on a couple of Schwan’s turkey breasts to skip all clean-up chores this year. Feeling like there’s a whole lot to be thankful for, despite the general freakishness of 2020. God bless.

I live under the tyranny of Inslee in Washington State. I have basically ignored his edicts ever since the first lockdown. I don’t wear a mask unless I HAVE to. I use it as a ‘ticket’ to enter a store. I then shop with it under my nose and frequently can be seen with it around my chin while I sip my latte. Lately I have been walking onto stores without a mask. I make them stop me as ask if I need a mask and the. I say no. So far so good. I am cooking a BIG Thanksgiving Dinner for my family…we will gather around our table, we will laugh, play games and most of all enjoy the love we feel for each other. I also plan on hugging my grandchildren. I understand there is a virus…but I really don’t think about it. I wash my hands, take my vitamins, exercise and try to enjoy each God given day. After reading the comments here, my conspiracy foiled hat is telling me that most of these state leaders are clinging to the dementia joe president elect fantasy that will usher in the Great Reset courtesy of the WEF. Since almost every state is hurting financially and accruing massive debt due to the lack of tax income, and seeing that the last congressional covid aid bill has been put on the far back burner, it becomes the logical conspiracy theory conclusion.

Western Long Island here (just over border from NYC … thank God). Went to Mass today (we didn’t reach the 50 percent limit). Got a haircut. Outdoor dining pretty much done as temps drop. My son and I went out for ice cream tonight with no problem. Wife, myself and son will have Turkey on Thanksgiving with my daughter coming from 10 miles away to cook. Cuomo be damned. Good evening from The Walking Dead country in Georgia. Was out of town last week so I am not aware of any mandates, not that I would follow them. Plan to join family & friends for Thanksgiving and not worry about the B.S. virus crap. However, it is sad to see so many people, or sheep wearing masks, just because someone told them to do so. I encountered a Karen in the airport before flying home who, stopped and said something about remembering to put on my mask. Northern Arkansas life is close to normal except for the mask requirement at Walmart; Lowe’s and Home Depot ask that you either wear a mask or socially distance. HD and Lowe’s have been out or low on virtually all lumber until this week. Grocery stores ‘re mostly well stocked except a few items here and there. Most folks don’t believe the masks help but comply because they are tired of putting up with the crap. All are really upset about the steal going on and are completely incensed at governor Asa Hutchinson recommending Trump concede. Good thing he is term limited out. One daughter coming in from CA for Christmas. Been reloading as usual but no ammo available. Down to only a few thousand primers left and no sign of getting more any time soon. Plenty of powder, brass and bullets though. All in all not bad.

Talked to my mom in PA today. The east coast part of my family is all meeting up in VA for Thanksgiving. None of them care what the government thinks.

Here in CO, my daughter is coming home from college for the holiday, and we’re not doing anything different than usual.

Eastern Washington here. AS store owners, we are bound to follow the BS, but most people I know are going to ignore the indoor mandates. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our Oregon coast Thanksgiving with a bunch of family members. Going to gather locally instead.

Sister Gina has her ruler out and getting ready to slap us around again. Closed the libraries and shutting other services. We have a 10 pm curfew requested and if we don’t comply it will be required

Southern California – we are ignoring Newsom’s dictums. I’m having six family members rather than my usual 12 because 50% of the family have moved to Florida. We are going to have a nice funeral for my poor dead but delicious turkey. I’m not making my family eat on paper plates sitting outside on socially distanced chairs, shivering, in the cold. Ridiculous. Especially after the French Laundry and Hawaii fiascos.

Sometimes our daughter (and whomever) comes for Thanksgiving and sometimes she/they don’t.
But always, even if we go away for the day, always we have a Thanksgiving dinner for 50 years and counting.

In Indiana eateries are starting to close dinning rooms again. I don’t think the police will be showing up if people have family Thanksgiving get togethers. That being said, my own Holiday plans are not normal because of my prostate and bladder condition.

My Daughter-in-law is an ICU nurse in Indianapolis and they have back up COVID units that are only used if there is an overflow from the hospital that is the primary tasked with handling COVID cases. She says their own ICU is only little bit busier than normal. Last time she spent three weeks working at another hospital in the COVID unit.

The reality is that currently nation wide mortality is running at the normal level for this time of year according to the CDC.
