We will be doing just what we’ve done for the past 6 years. One son and his family will come here while the other son and family go to his wife’s mother’s house. Then on Friday, we all get together at our house for leftovers, all used in ever ingenious ways. There will be 6-8 adults and 5 kids, all playing, drinking and eating to excess. There will likely be an obligatory nap after the noontime meal when most of us pass-out in a food coma. Good times! Just like every other year. All are healthy and looking forward to the weekend.

We are having family over for a traditional TG dinner next Thursday. Picking up a couple of 10 lb freshly killed ground raised free range organic antibiotic free bone in Turkey breasts from a local farm this Friday. That’ll cost me a C-note.

I am an officer in American Legion Son’s Squadron 291 in Newport Beach. One of our fundraisers is the Newport Beach Boat Parade where we have really wonderful out door fundraising program where we sell tables and a wonderful meal to see the parade. We have fundraised in the past between $15K and $30K for veterans and their families who need assistance. It is truly one of the most satisfying groups I have ever honored to be in and support. With all that has gone on this is now our largest fundraiser.

Governor Abbott, Texas, has finally taken a stand against lockdowns. My wife and I go to the stores sans face diapers. No one says a word to us. The store personnel actually seem more friendly towards us. Maybe they are just glad to see a human smiling face every now and then. Whenever I see other shoppers, without masks, I always make a comment that it is nice to see another face!

I have no idea what edicts have been issued for my area.

Family is heading to Carmel for about 3 days to be with another family and we will share good food, laughter and stories and sing very loud with joy! No masks…lots of hugs…and good wine. Going to pretend that we’re at the French Laundry Restaurant.

On Friday, Montana mandates require 50% capacity in restaurants, bars, breweries, distilleries and casinos. Closing time is now 10 pm for these establishments. Tables must be limited to six people with six feet between groups… Public gatherings and events are limited to 25 people where it’s not possible to practice social distancing OR where social distancing isn’t being practiced. There is a mask or face covering mandate if counties have 4 or more active CASES and masks must be warn in ALL indoor spaces open to the public by persons aged 5 or older.

For the last month the northern native communities have been locked down and residents are only allowed out of the communities on two days of the week and only two persons may travel in a vehicle.

Two weeks ago Montana Health sought court approval for temporary restraining orders against several businesses that weren’t complying with the mask mandates….

Rural businesses are closing right and left and the soup kitchens and the church & community programs are stretched to the maximum…..People are getting very angry.

Low country South Carolina here, about 20 miles west of Charleston. Larger local municipalities and some counties have mask ordinances but mine does not. The ordinances have been lightened up recently and masks are only required in grocery stores, pharmacies, and government buildings in my town although Charleston requires them everywhere, including outside. I haven’t been there since last fall. Most people wear masks. I’ve done so 5 times, all in the last month (twice at David’s Bridal to get my mother of the bride dress shortened, once in the lobby of the hotel where my daughter’s in-laws were staying and twice in Aldi’s this week). I don’t foresee a need to wear it again until at least January because I now have all the food and toiletries we need until mid-January and then I’ll probably do Walmart curbside pickup so no mask. We have no statewide restrictions on the size of gatherings but the state health department is recommending we follow the CDC guidelines. Our Thanksgiving dinner will be just 3 of us (my daughter, son-in-law, and myself) and we are all living together anyway. My sister is hosting Christmas and that will be bigger but her husband is immuno-compromised so I’m not sure if I’m going to go – I don’t want to be the one to get him sick with anything, including the China Virus.

My daughter got married last Friday night. They rented an Air BnB before that company said no parties for future reservations. It is on a tidal river and had a VERY large outside space. Fortunately the rain from Eta was done Thursday night so the weather was perfect. There were about 38 people total under a 20 x 40 canopy with the tables nicely spread out. Maryland tightened their restrictions last Wednesday requiring quantine if you travel to a state with a 10% or more positivity rate, which SC has, mostly up in the northwest of the state, near Charlotte, so one of the bridesmaids and the friend who was going to officiate did not attend (they can’t afford to not work for multiple days until they test negative). The groom’s family came from NY and Maryland and they were definitely mask wearers although as the night and weekend wore on, they wore them less and less. No one said anything about masks, at least not that I heard.

Some kids in my county attend school in person, others do remote. Families choose their option at the beginning of the school year.

I noticed that Aldi was limiting cans of pumpkin, pumpkin pie filling, and evaporated milk to two each while toilet paper and paper towels are one package each.

Finally, cases in SC have been over 1,000 a day for 8 or 10 days this month but deaths are not going up as much. One day we had 2, another had 24, then the next had around 10. I stay home most of the time, mainly because most of the festivals, etc., have been canceled. However, the Christmas Parade, which gets thousands of attendees, is still on. Unfortunately, the parade participants aren’t asked to thrown out candy this year – harumph! The tree lighting is set for December 1 and Third Thursdays (food trucks, various vendors, and local organizations all have outside booths and stores stay open later) started up again in October.

I have a friend who works as a critical care nurse at the major hospital here in Berserkeley CA and, all the hype about a spike notwithstanding she has not a single WuFlu patient currently on her floor. Zero. Zip. Nada. . Almost all of the WuFlu patients she’s treated during the pandemic are Latino, most overweight and diabetic.

I see very few unmasked people walking around outside. Even walking alone. I never wear a mask outside and on only two occasions has anyone given me trouble about it. Both older white men btw.

I have close family members accusing me of being a bad citizen and a bad Christian for not wearing a mask, even though I have a medical exemption. In Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer through the MDHHS has mandated a three week pause. Michigan bars and restaurants closed for indoor dining. High schools and colleges only remote learning. No organized sports. Thanksgiving restrictions to household with no more than 10 people.

Finally, the Michigan restaurant Association has filed a lawsuit against the state health director to block the ban on dine in service. I can only say it’s about time. Hope that they are successful. And other lawsuits of various kinds follow.

This latest round of mitigations aims to limit gatherings and encourages residents to stay home as much as possible and follow proper safety measures when out in public. The mitigations carefully balance the paramount goal of saving lives while preserving the option for in-person learning for children and protecting as much of the economy as possible from the continued impacts of the virus.

The Tier 3 resurgence mitigations will take effect statewide at 12:01 am on Friday, November 20, 2020.

“To stop this spread and preserve some semblance of the holidays, all of us need to do more than just wear our masks now – though masks are mandatory throughout the state. The simple fact is that COVID-19 is spreading so quickly and so widely, and our hospitals are beginning to experience real strain and at the current infection rate they will be overwhelmed. So whenever possible, we need you to stay home,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “I’m hopeful that by limiting our in-person interactions, we will succeed at avoiding a stay at home order like what we had in the spring – when the choice between saving lives and saving livelihoods was even more stark. Tier 3 may allow us to do both. Like in other states like Michigan and California and Washington, it’s our best effort to avoid a stay-at-home order and save lives.”

Gov. Pritzker says this is “not a stay at home order.” But says the mitigations are the best way to slow the spread and avoid one.

“There is no denying that the state is headed in the wrong direction with increased cases, hospitalizations, and deaths,” said IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike. “There also is no denying that reducing the opportunities for the virus to spread can reverse our direction. This includes staying home as much as possible, wearing a mask and keeping social distance when we do have to go out, and not gathering with people outside our households. Until a vaccine is widely available and people understand the importance of being vaccinated, we must continue to take preventive actions to stop the transmission of the virus. Right now, our preventive actions are the best way to prevent new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.”

I live in Franklin Co. My son attends a Christian homeschool Co-op (Abeka). 3 kids tested positive recently. Did their 14 day quarantine & are back. My daughters school is closed for 2 weeks (other schools in the district are still open). The entire high school band was quarantined. 7 students tested positive along with a couple of teachers. A few days later even after getting subs from other districts they didn’t have enough teachers to continue so its google classroom.

I would imagine Satan, Hitler and Stalin were doing an awful lot of giggling in Hell as they made up and passed on their plans to torment the people to these Democrat governors in Ca, PA, Mi and the others. In fact, I doubt they have been able to stopd giggling yet.
