There was much fake news about the tech and finance leaders traveling with President Trump to China. Moments ago, President Trump corrects the record:
TRUTH SOCIAL – “CNBC incorrectly reported that the Great Jensen Huang, of Nvidia, was not invited to the incredible gathering of the World’s Greatest Businessmen/women proudly going to China. In actuality, Jensen is currently on Air Force One and, unless I ask him to leave, which is highly unlikely, CNBC’s reporting is incorrect or, as they say in politics, FAKE NEWS!
It is an Honor to have Jensen, Elon, Tim Apple, Larry Fink, Stephen Schwarzmann, Kelly Ortberg (Boeing), Brian Sikes (Cargill), Jane Fraser (Citi), Larry Culp (GE Aerospace), David Solomon (Goldman Sachs), Sanjay Mehrotra (Micron), Cristiano Amon (Qualcomm), and many others journeying to the Great Country of China where I will be asking President Xi, a Leader of extraordinary distinction, to “open up” China so that these brilliant people can work their magic, and help bring the People’s Republic to an even higher level! In fact, I promise, that when we are together, which will be in a matter of hours, I will make that my very first request. I have never seen or heard of any idea that would be more beneficial to our incredible Countries!”
“Tim Apple” always cracks me up. lol
As previously noted and discussed by USTR Jamieson Greer, since the original trip to Beijing was announced several months ago, it was very easy to identify this visit was not a customary ‘state visit’ in the formal sense of the term. Instead, this trip was always planned as a trade, finance and economic business trip specifically to engage Chairman Xi with a financial and investment focus.

I had no idea President Trump aimed that high.
Wow.
Again you’re first to it Sundance.
Everything China has made or built is built on theft.
China should have been abandoned and not visited in anyway whatsoever and will we now see a softening grip on China and oil when PDJT returns ?
The screws should be turned more and more until the dragons fire is extinguished.
I don’t understand this at all
That ship has sailed. The cows are out of the barn. China is a high tech, manufacturing powerhouse. Yes, they steal intellectual property and copy ideas. They also now have become creators and innovators on their own. Short of bombing them, they’re not going to revert to the 1950’s.
It is probably better to show them how to play nice with the rest of the world and demonstrate that they don’t need to be aggressors (think Taiwan). Trump doesn’t see the world as a fixed sized pie that can only be divided up and fought over. He sees making the pie bigger or making multiple pies. Make everyone wealthy and they can afford more pies. We can still be leaders in Ai and win that race. We can still dominate oil/gas production and distribution. America needs to win certain battles and be on top versus China. But it doesn’t have to be a zero sum game. Partner with China in ways that benefit both countries but protects American IP. Show China they can prosper without stealing, dumping, or enslavng (workers and nations).
That’s my guess to what the long term play is.
Trump is probably the only one on the plane that cares about the United States.
Amen.
IS POTUS Trump going to CALL IN EACH INDIVIDUALLY to CONFESS THEIR Secret Deals With Xi in a Show that TRUMP HAS
The Goods on Xi / China undermining the UNITED STATES LABOR Force ?
that’s a pleb Wishing for a Theatrical Scene worthy of film making
Not sure “propping up China” with more trade is a smart idea.
THEY ALWAYS STEAL IP? They will never allow free commerce like the USA does. They will force partnerships, learn/steal IP, then copy it themselves while undercutting the US company.
They’ve been doing it since the 80’s.
Better to DECOUPLE than couple even more. Let them rot in their own corruption.
President Trump obviously has his reasons, but most of these people are not our friends. To say the least.
This is a necessary evil for the good of the American people. We still have the leverage over China & PDJT’s tag along posse is there to remind them of that. Additionally, this is to illustrate to these WEF globalists who the real big dog on the block is. For too long these companies bowed down to kiss the foot of China, & I believe once all is said and done this week, there will be a noticeable change in posture amongst these fortune 100 companies.
I believe you’ve hit the nail on the head of these negotiations, MOB.
Wow. I look forward to seeing the entire list of participants as well as what specific sectors are and are not attending.
Elon covers at least four or five depending on what hats he gets to wear.
Coherent’s lasers and Illumina’s biotech/genetics are sure to get some memes generating.
Good luck to Visa, Citi, and MasterCard. Are they going to try to enter into China’s closed social credit digital id financial system or possibly bring back some best practices to our shores?
Regardless, this is shaping up to be the most epic and seismic US-China trade discussion ever undertaken.
For Carney, Starmer and all the other Special Needs Bus Gold Visa holders, THIS is how you do a trade discussion.
Godspeed Team USA!!!
I’m reading reports Trump is considering allowing China to invest 1 trillion into US soil. I hope to God this is fake news. But it’s coming from Laura Ingram and Owen Cass. Makes zero sense
I would have liked being a fly-on-the-cabinwall of Air Force 1.
Hopefully this meeting will be more like the Treaty of Wangxia in 1844 than the Shanhai Communique signed in 1972.
Tim Apple’s last trip as CEO of Apple.
This is a huge and magnificent group of industry Titans. Very impressed that Trump can set this up. He must have given them high confidence that their companies would benefit significantly.
