The Obama-Biden administration couldn’t get the votes needed in Congress to amend the Clean Air Act and regulate “greenhouse gases.” So, they both decided to ignore the law and create trillions in regulatory costs on the American people.
As noted by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, “The Trump Admin is proudly following the law, saving $1.3 TRILLION for the American people, lowering new car costs by over $2,400 per vehicle, and getting rid of the climate participation trophy for manufacturers to install Obama Switches that shut vehicles off at red lights and stop signs.” WATCH:

I’d like a heads up on the year, make and models of which vehicles will be built first without all the extra garbage! A lot of woke CEO’s will still be slipping in all the extras anyway and I’ve never met an honest or knowledgeable car salesman!
EPA fuel standards caused a lot of the initial computerization. We need to get rid of those and find a company wulling to manufacture a simple, non-computerized IC car. One we can work on ourselves, if we so desire…
I hope that I never have to part with my 08 Honda Element and 06 Ford F-250 (with crank windows).
You have two truly epic vehicles.
Amen JoAnn. Much easier and less costly to repair too!
Don’t buy a car made within the time-period that all this began. Just buy used, w/out anything digital because digital-is-trackable. Is it even worth it, telling people to not buy any kind of appliances that have the ability to “spy” on you — (yes, when it’s turned off or not.) Hard for some of us (who know about J-6 and who know what tracks you) to even determine what the heck they think they’re doing by buying TV’s and everything else that tracks you..
To be reinstated by the next administration?
Whip-sawing US industry down. Back and forth, back and forth, overall effect is down.
Because that’s the Plan, isn’t it? Sinking the West as the East rises.
Down we are steered, to a reduced totalitarian surveillance state in the coming “Multi-polar Global Governance”.
All trends align.
Pray for the Gen Z and younger generations.
Up to us to lead the way, or they’ll take it for “normal.”
I don’t know if this is included , but cylinder deactivation is a big problem in the auto industry. Namely GM and Dodge V8’s have issues with cam’s and lifters failing around 100,000 miles. Expensive repairs for expensive trucks all passed on to the consumer.
Trucking industry would benefit from no DEF systems. (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). These engines are literally burning themselves up and they’re very problematic with all maintenance cost transferred to shipping costs.
I installed a cylinder deactivation blocker on my V6 Cadillac. Works great! About $35 on Amazon. It plugs into the ODBII port under the dash.
I owned a 2011 GMC Sierra. At the time, active fuel management seemed like a pretty good idea. I stop at a red light and for a moment when just sitting there, it goes from 8 to only 4 cylinders running. (it’s a 5.3 liter engine). Now the presumption was that this was going to save me some fuel costs and also lesson wear and tear on the engine. This was exactly how it was designed and marketed to the public.
well..it didn’t take long to find out some realities for this “eco-drive” farce.
I was not seeing any significant fuel savings. I noticed that any speeds over 60, even going downhill, the eco drive was at best intermittentat stops there was a type of lurching when the engine would go from 8 to 4 and then from 4 to 8, there was a power lag and if you were not really careful with the gas pedal, you get a sudden overtorque from the transmission.I never get better than 15 mpg no matter how delicate I am with the pedal.at 74,000 the 5.3 engine grenaded on me. The overhead cam which is variable and controlled by a hot mess of electronic coil overs was getting insufficient oil through these tiny lube channels. I had heard about this happening but considered Iit due to owners not doing proper oil changes. Nope I was well ahead of all oil changes and used the best mobil 1 full synthetic. This was a daily driver not really doing any hauling, the occasional trailer to the dump to clear debris after the hurricanes of 2020 in my area, but nothing that would produce any significant worl on the truck. The dealership refused to acknowledge the problem. I had to replace the engine for a cost of nearly 7 grand.
my other truck, a 97 Chevy Silverado, 5.7 vortec has over 290,000 original miles. runs great, never so much as changed the oil regularly, plug changed and a new fuel pump at around the 100K mark. transmission, albeit light duty, still holding up and tons of power. Can trailer easily without any issues, well over 5,000 up and down the hills. I did upgrade the MPFI “octopus” to a better system a few years back….but that was more or less a experiment to see if I could get better mileage. I did not, which is okay…The rear differential and the cam would need to be upgraded to actually do that. Not worth the cost for a small saving in fuel.
comparing both trucks. the 97 hands down is the winner. Long life, no explodey engines. No false advertising to meet some instance epa driven, save the planet from death by heat nonsense.
the 97 may not look pretty, but she gets the job done reliably.
God Bless America
A few yrs back, sold a 2014 GMC 3500hd duramax and bought a 09 Silverado with the 5.3. First thing I did was buy a bypass chip that plugs into to OBD2 port which keeps the engine constantly on 8 cylinders eliminating the switching between 4 & 8 cylinders. Zero issues. Very little loss of mileage with better power. The whole VVT scam destroys the engines.
Variable valve timing is not the same tech as variable displacement/cylinder deactivation.
The later of which has detonated engines with lubrication and mechanical wear issues.
No question. Our vehicle is 2007 — runs fine, and no digial “spyware” (or even GPS, which — tho’ people don’t want to admit it — destroys brain cells, as they are like muscles — don’t use it, and you won’t keep it functional.
This is a great move. Thank you President Trump.
It is a even GREATER MOVIE
WE ARE ALL WATCHING

I hate, hate, HATE the car turning off when you stop. So stupid, the minimal amount you save in gas wont cover the cost of a new starter. Luckily my car is equipped with an override switch.
or the battery…or the alternator….or the oil pump. all of those items in a vehicle incur a significant amount of wear and tear during startup. some might consider it trivial, but If you do the math, for a typical driver, there are basically about 4 starts a day on a normal vehicle. the first start of the day, going to work…probably another start for lunch (or dinner), and then a start to go back home, and then another start for errands, shopping later in the evening. So that’s about realistic to the average vehicle.
but now what happens at every single stop…every single red light? every time you come to a stop because of traffic?
it goes from 3-4 to as much as 20-30. a magnitude order greater. This develops wear and tear in every single component of the engine by the same magnitude. Basically, your vehicles ages at least 100 percent faster. That’s the reality.
there is a reason that farmers do have this kind of BS on their equipment and neither does the military. it’s absolutely critical that your things work and endure. the former EPA really messed things up for the consumer that’s for sure…and you know, I am no convinced the auto industry was probably behind this entire fiasco. Of course the engineer for obsolescence. what better way to force quicker repeat customers than by designed systems that cause the life of the auto to diminish very fast.
God Bless America
God Bless America
Hybrids are a good path forward for the next 20 years if they address our national grid.
It’s the most sensible approach. Toyota knew it was the better approach vs elec. Common sense died somewhere on elec vs ice vs hybrid.
Our grid is beyond antiquated.
Thank God for Leadership with sanity and brains!
and experience.
When are the 200mpg carburetors coming out?? That is the real question Treeps!
I have three vehicles, 2005 Ford five hundred, 1966 Ford F250 truck, 1946 1/2-ton dodge truck they all drive perfectly. I see no need to buy a new vehicle for me, what for!
