The Obama-Biden administration couldn’t get the votes needed in Congress to amend the Clean Air Act and regulate “greenhouse gases.” So, they both decided to ignore the law and create trillions in regulatory costs on the American people.
As noted by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, “The Trump Admin is proudly following the law, saving $1.3 TRILLION for the American people, lowering new car costs by over $2,400 per vehicle, and getting rid of the climate participation trophy for manufacturers to install Obama Switches that shut vehicles off at red lights and stop signs.” WATCH:

Finally
Obama Switches that shut vehicles off at red lights
“Obama Switches”
I love it !!!
Sucks for me cuz I just lost my new job before ever getting a paycheck. I signed up online with ‘Obama Snitches’ to spy and narc on people who were bypassing their Obama Switches.
I just E-signed the contract with the law firm that represents Tim Walz, the offices of Ben Dover & Phil McCracken. I was guaranteed 200k a year, with a stipulation that 10% is transferred to someone named Peter Buttgauge (no idea who that is) through something called The Leering Center, which was going to certify me as a professional, licensed leerer.
Now I’m taking a gander at other opportunities. See one that sounds promising…. Thune’s Goons, though I don’t have a clue what that involves.
<chuckles>
“Obama Switches that shut vehicles off at red lights”
How appropriate for him to be associated with something that results in things no longer working……………
Switch hits?
Beautiful! Can we get regular old style light bulbs again soon? Bought 80 of them back in 2017 and only have a few left
I have given up on CA. Newcome signed a law prohibiting the sale of incan’s down to nightlights… Amazon will not send me 7.5 watt bulbs unless LED which I hate.
We have to travel to Nevada and stock up on all the items not allowed in CA.
Here in the communist state of Washington besides light bulbs etc are plastic bags and Styrofoam cups. Ya call BS on that deal and just drive to Idaho to stock up on Styrofoam cups (a couple hundred at a time) and all the plastic bags I want.
My sister (for me) & I saved every plastic shopping bag I could get my hands on before they banned them in NY. I ran out last year. Just was at her new house in FL, she had more Tops plastic bags and wished my suitcase had room for them. Now if I need bags for my small waste baskets I have to purchase them. That and there are no more public/private garbage bins anywhere in sight!
thats cause ny has become one big trash bin.
So much better in Idaho! My heart goes out to you living in WA. I was just telling someone today – we only have 1 Costco in our town, its regularly filled with Washingtonians shopping.
Commiefornia and WA suck.
So it’s a STATE thing…
I couldn’t get a high flow shower head from Amazon when I moved here.
The tyrants know how to make us miserable!
Same problem here with faucets and shower heads. Easy to fix. On the shower heads there’s a plastic water restrictor that you can remove and drill out to a larger size. Pretty easy to do and the water comes out full force. Same with the water faucets. The restrictors are usually white and located right behind the threaded water inputs
Bought the cheapest little shower head that was available at the local (not box box store) hardware store. Super easy to pop the flow restrictor out.
Note of caution: The resulting flow may be too excessive for comfort. Best to include a quarter turn shut off valve (usually sold right next to the shower head display) with the installation so you can regulate the water flow to your exact requirements.
guys at the local plumbing supply shop here will be happy to remove the restrictor
You can easily fix this. Inside the shower head is a plastic resistor that slows the water flow. Pop it out with a screwdriver and you get full water pressure!
Got a drill? You can make one! Many showerheads also provide for disassembly whether or not intended.
Cosmo knows a guy
A 5/16th drill bit will make the conversion.
No, but you can take them apart!
usually you can hack them…there is usually a small plastic flow restrictor screen type of thing that can be removed from inside the threaded fitting. get that sucker out and voila’. no more trickle water.
Oven lights are still incandescent, though 5W isn’t too bright.
Try Craft Lights, artists, hairdressers, doctors, dentists use those because the light is white, though those have been discontinued in Australia recently.
Find a seller on eBay, that’s what I’ve had to do.
The blinking from led is bad for our nervous sytem.
Pretty please?
Ditto
100W Incandescent Baby !!!
My late husband and I bought a couple hundred of them, in all wattages, in 2011. I’m down to last couple of dozen.
I’m still hanging onto a toilet that flushes like the good ole days. We call it the Big Kahuna.
But I do miss the old frig.
After Trump was inaugurated, I thought he EO’d away water restrictions on washing machines etc…at least he spoke of doing it. A couple months later my machine broke, I was excited to get a new one, that filled all the way. Come to find out all the appliance store did was remove the water saver sticker! I was disappointed to say the least!
I can’t stand all the new brands of lights and lightbulbs, talk about migraines…I rarely ever had them before all these new variations of light bulbs came out. Back to the watt standard please!
Check with uncle festors.
could have sworn I read that the old ones were back, so “stock up.” Did I hear it wrong?
This is the repeal of the boot upon which they thrust upon your neck.

When is Trump going to say enough is enough? Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported, but a judge ordered Trump to bring him back and he still hasn’t been deported as of yet.
As long as he doesn’t have freedom, it’s okay.
Read about congess having the ability to do something (impeach?) and now they failed (by a few votes?) Infuriating.
Can someone puhleeze tell my 2016 tdi’s that they won’t need DEF? Or is that just a dream…
I want to do a complete delete, then the engine just might function properly.
2012 Passat. Stock. Just put a couple quarts in.
So far, so good!
Usually about 42-45 mpg.
Had a ’95 Passat Tdi, manual, and it was the best! Made it to 500,000 miles before we retired the old girl. Drove it once to empty just to see exactly how many miles we could get on the tank, and it registered 798 as we pulled into a gas station on Rt 17 in Mahwah NJ. Stalled at the pump. LOVE telling that story!!!
My boss got one of those Mercedes 2 seaters that had that on it. I was going to the computer store and he stopped me, handed me his keys and said “Here, take my new ride and see what you think”. So of course I said OK. When I got to the traffic light, it died. I was freaking out. I’m sitting there wondering what to do. The light turned green quickly, so I hit the gas, not knowing what else to do. THAT was when I learned about that Obama feature. When I got back he asked how I liked the car, (while smiling and laughing). He was a great boss! (And still a close friend!) 😉
The auto-stop feature destroys the turbos and severely lessons the life of the engines. Always disable the auto-stop every time you start driving.
“lessens” lol. Thanks for that info, ‘tho I will never have one of those vehicles.
“lessons” lol, you’re right. I don’t know why I made that silly mistake but I won’t do it again.
Also shortens the life of the starter, starter relay, starter ring gear, battery, ect.
I think that is an additional plan.
🎯
Disposing of bad starters et al…hmmm…SO good for the environment, yes?🙄
Simply throwing away a bad starter motor is an incredible waste with copper going for a premium these days.
They have significant amount of salvageable copper just in the windings.
Last I checked, copper was just under $6 USD per pound.
https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/copper
I grew up 1/4 mile from the Starter rebuild shop. Back in the day, you walked your starter up the hill and got it back in 5 days – fresh and ready to go.
Starters are typically sold with a “core charge” added on to the sale price. Return your old starter after installing the new one, and the core charge is refunded to you. Sort of like the nickle deposit on a soda bottle. Your old core will be rebuilt (remanufactured) and sold as such. When purchasing a new starter there is often the less expensive “reman” option.
Most are rebuilt.
That was my question (effect on starter, especially). I often drive a hybrid, which is actually fine, and experience no acceleration or other issues at stoplights or signs.
My question too-I have a 2018 hybrid – it doesn’t shut off that I know of but it does go completely quiet like it’s not running if it sits Is that what these auto shut offs do?
I’m so confused…
Jeeps put in an additional battery to handle stop start feature. When it finally dies, they will wait, the drain is now on the main battery which leads to replacing two batteries because of this switch.
Auto Stop is also heck on the starter motor.
However, last time I looked this was standard on all of the gas engine Golf Carts i have ever driven.
Exactly, it will just wear out your starter sooner.
On golf carts the “starter” is a DC motor that stays engaged with the cart’s engine rotation. Push the gas peddle and you have a starter. Then, once the engine is running, the starter motor becomes a DC generator used to recharge the cart’s battery.
Forget starters. Your main bearings are starved for oil every time it starts/stops. The starters are beefed up.
Not to mention the starters!
I’ve learned how to gently press the brake, so that the feature (bug) doesn’t take effect on our 24 Hyundai Palisades. However, my Dearest Darling can’t get the hang of it… so it
Stops.
And starts.
Stops.
And starts.
Must be Great for the ignition – and the engine.
No matter what the ‘experts’ say!
“Always disable the auto-stop every time you start driving.”
I’ve heard of some cars that have an interlock that, for diagnostic purposes, allows the engine to stay running if the hood is open. The trick is to permanently bypass that switch.
I have a 2014 Jaguar F-Type which I bought in Sept 2016. The first time I drove it the damnable stop/start system confused the bejesus out of me, I could not figure out why the engine cut off all the time as I was slowly creeping up to some parking stops, not yet knowing how to judge where the front of the car was. So the first thing I did when I got home was to do some research and I worked out that the stop/start system was simply operating normally. I also discovered how to permanently disable it, 5 minutes work in the trunk with a wrench, hey presto no need to hit the “off” button every time I got in the car.
out of rebellion, if nothing else.
First thing I do when I get in my car is – turn it off! Pain in the ass, but, one gets used to it.
Me too. After a while it just becomes a habit.
On my SUV you can just set it on/off until you want to change,
It’s just on of the settings.
Thankfully, my ’94 jeep does not have this ‘feature’
yep stop then start feak motor. add them loud freak mufflers and you got another obnotious ride.
This is GREAT NEWS! It had nothing to do with “green energy” and everything to do with transferring wealth.
…and controlling the citizens.
Exactly..
Today’s vehicles are wheeled tracking devices.
And it’s not just the car makers who are gathering our info, and then selling it to marketers and auto insurance companies.
It’s China, where 70% of the world’s EVs were produced in 2024.
https://solartechonline.com/blog/chinese-electric-ev-cars-market-analysis-2025/
How many auto makers in the USA, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, and the UK don’t have at least some of the electronic components manufactured in China? Bet it’s ZERO.
Winning!
Thanks Mr. President. 😁👍
President Trump has just unleashed the American Kracken.

Driving a 2003 Dodge with 397k. Did a frame off freshen to drive hopefully another 300k. No DEF fuel, no emissions, no catalytic converters, no electronics, no cameras, just a truck. New diesel trucks are an unimaginable expensive nightmare. Kind of like boats, just light money on fire to keep it running
When PDJT visited Ford the CEO talked about retooling the TN plant for a new affordable truck. I hope it is something very similar to your Dodge, no BS, just a truck. They will sell tons if that’s what they do.
Japanese make small trucks that are cheap and a good size for a lot of applications. They sell them all over the world. People even want them here. Our auto manufacturers can’t sell trucks like that here due to regulations, so they don’t make them. They spent billions to make electric trucks Obama wanted, but not the consumer.
About a month ago President Trump allowed the sale of these small trucks. Great for consumers, but the only ones that make them are foreign manufacturers, so domestic auto manufacturers are now way behind and need to catch up.
I said it decades ago. If a car was fine tuned, it wouldn’t need all the garbage that’s been added in the name of global warmimg.
Mine is a 2012 and the same. No gizmos, just a truck. I have a little over 301,000 on it now and have thought about doing whatever I can to keep it going. Problem is, finding a reliable place to do the work.
Any comment on how much yours cost?
I bought a donor truck in Virginia at a municipal bid sale. Rust is the enemy, the donor truck did not have lick of rust, mine had terminal cancer. A local trade school did it as a project. They stripped mine down to the frame, sandblasted frame and patched soft spots and powder coated frame. Took donor truck and swapped cab, some of the doors and put my truck back together. All in maybe 9000$. I have been involved with the school sourcing vehicles and keeping “at risk” kids short on funds in school. It is a labor of love, people in trades will be the new wealthy.
You need to get out more regards boats. Our 2011 22 foot Bennington with 115 ultra reliable Yamaha outboard is worth 90% of what we payed for it 8 years ago.
Good friend of ours runs the shop at the dealer we bought it used from. We payed 20 for it( with trailer) in June of 2017, they are selling for 18k ish now.
Coincidentally, I’ve been shopping for a new vehicle. The dealer lots are clogged with 2025 models, “featuring” auto stop/start and cylinder deactivation. A hard pass for me on both. One “new” 2025 SUV had a build date of 6/24, and needed a battery jump before my test drive Almost 2 years rotting on the lot. .
Dealers still “negotiating” as if there’s still a car and parts shortage, for these crappy overpriced cars that folks aren’t buying. Not much room on the lots for the 2026 models. Wondering when they’re gonna wake up.
I want an ICE, 3 l engine minimum, low tech, no subscription services, without all the nanny crap. Hopefully auto makers will now have the green light to make vehicles that people actually WANT to buy.
Every time I see a car stop at a light, then hear the audible restart of the engine, it seems like a metaphor for testosterone leakage. All those stops…
In the meantime, I’m keeping my 24 year old car. Runs great.
My Chevy Equinox is 20 years old now.
My late-50s son has assured me that when I’ve left this realm, he’s going to get it into his possession ASAP for a few very, very good reasons, among them being the certainty that it isn’t trackable. And yes, he obviously would remove the sim card(s) from their phones if they have become less visible.
I’ve spent a few thousand over the years – on things like heater core, muffler replacement, and timing chain. SO worth it.
Seriously, I don’t understand why people buy items that spy on them.
2000 Nissan Maxima, ~95k miles, 2nd owner. Starting to need some mechanical repairs, but I’m hoping it will be my last vehicle.
Although I really wish I was driving 57 Chevy…
or a ’67 ss/rs, 4-speed muncie, 350ci, 295 factory h.p., 12 bolt rear main, factory posi, guages over the console, fold down rear seat, hide-a-way headlight, factory a/c, black exterior w/bumble bee stripe and red interior camaro
Is that a SS clone?
Tributes are just as beautiful at 25% of the price!
Would love a ’67 Pontiac Tempest GTO Tribute.
Or a ‘67 Plymouth GTX HT w/Hemi.
4-speed manual w/Dana rear end.
Check that.
How ‘bout a ‘68 Shelby 500KR convert in met light blue w/ matching interior?
My local Ford dealer has one in the showroom.
Now THERE’S some Detroit muscle!
it seems like a metaphor for testosterone leakage
stellar!
I salute you, Mr Gipper !
on the right — is that “mincing” or “prancing”? — I’m a little uncertain on my adverbs
what a fey limp-wrister
It sells more starters!
Retired Magistrate here: I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.6 engine and weighs almost 5,000 pounds. It is a great car and easily maneuvers our steep, narrow, gravel driveway even with ice and snow. It has a rear back up camera which I really like because of my neck and shoulder arthritis it is hard for me to turn my neck and the seats are heated. What more could you want in car?
We have good mechanic, who is very reasonable and is located at 1.5 miles from our house. The Jeep is just starting to get a little rust, but not bad, especially with our Central Ohio winters with all the salt on the road.
Is it economical on gas; no, but I really don’t care. If someone runs into me I want as much steel around me as possible.
A good Jeep climbs like a goat up a hill. Mine is a ’94. She survived 30 years, so I keep her garaged over the winters.
The gas mileage is a pittance compared to the price of new.
Also suggest high-end classic car auctions such as Mecum, Haggerty, etc, esp if you can drive a stick.
Great cars available for less than 15k – oft beautifully restored by those of us who cherish them.
Looks like I came in here at the right time.
Mrs. Blue wants a 2026 Rav4, which is a model change. The sons and I have advised her that you don’t buy the first or maybe even second year of a model tweak.
Here’s the kicker. The sales reps are telling us they won’t even have a unit to test drive until the end of February.
But this morning my son sent us a photo of a late model Toyota wirh a female driver with a head covering.
Folks, at some point we’re going to have to go kinetic.
I assume you don’t mean she’s wearing a helmet.
late model Toyota with a female driver with a head covering
“Allahu RAV4 !!!”
Cylinder deactivation was done by GM. Remember the V-8-6-4 motor, they were in Cadillacs. They just recycle bad ideas.
Yep, my Dad had a Caddy over 40 years ago with that “feature”. Finally had a “nice” car in his later years, and he got stuck with that. Sounded like the engine was dropping out of the bay when it engaged on the highway. And we’d jerk forward in our seatbelts, and then jerk back. So “smooth”…
My Dad put himself through school as an auto mechanic, and did ALL his own repairs. We all learned to change fluids and tires before we could get a license. The only thing he didn’t do was replace engines, which is what that sucker needed. Bet he’s spinning in his grave over today’s limp vehicle “improvements”…
I’ve got a 36 year old manual, which makes my 24 year old daily driver look like a youngster. Whenever I drive it, I’m invariably stopped my young men, who are all pining for a similar car. Manual clutch, decent engine size, analog everything. No nanny along for the ride.
Besides all the many and varied criticisms of the nanny/ipad/virtue signaling “cars” on the market today, here’s another one I haven’t seen mentioned. They’re totally emasculating. By design.
I think the V8-6-4 engine was better known as the Detonator!
Those stop start switches are soooooo annoying.
Annoying….
I think you misspelt ‘Sh*t’
They’re annoying to me, and I’ve never had one. Just the idea that people let O decide what their car does…
So howinhell does one keep the car warm whilst waiting for wife to shop and I’m in the parking lot?
Or start it and let it warm up when it’s 20 below…. ?
I realize President DJT is doing as much as he can against relentless opposition.
As I sat in a Dr.’s office waiting for my wife appointment to be over , I sat their getting more pissed off as I realized how much these same front office people put many of us non COVID shot believers through. The masks, the hypocrisy, the bs, the arrows in supermarkets, the histeria. All for the purpose of mail in ballots and to let JB win in 2020. Where are the apologies and the admitting of wrongness and the lawsuits.
The graft and lawlessness by most politicians and the theft of billions of $ has gotten so big, few will really be punished!!! . Too big to fail. I remember being thrown out of restaurants because I couldn’t see the logic of masks and sitting 6 feet apart. LOL. Sorry for the rant.
All this seems as too little too late. Frustrated in Fl
Pray and help others
how much these same front office people put many of us non COVID shot believers through. The masks, the hypocrisy, the bs, the arrows in supermarkets, the histeria
the dancing nurses video clips
Now we have “covid stupid” it afflicts probably 70 percent of the country.
It kicks in after the car warms up. I disabled my switch soon after buying the car in ‘21.
The stop/start feature doesn’t activate if the heater or AC are in a high demand mode; once the car warms up (or for AC cools down) then it might kick in. Also, in my 2017 F-150 there is a switch to TURN OFF the whole “stop/start” feature…which I always do.
I don’t have one but I imagine that the engine continues to run as long as the transmission is in Park.
Soetero’s legacy.
But being erased one week at a time….
don’t forget the bumps he put in the middle of the road. that was their go to solution when the ‘shovel ready jobs’ weren’t so, chuckle chuckle chuckle , werent so ready. grind grooves in the existing black top.
If ignoring the law leads to no prosecutions, then you can bet three horses it will happen again.
America can’t have a gov’t who you can be proud of just for “following the law”. Everyone wants to see the scalps of those who did their best to destroy this country.
Sorry, but, “will follow the law now” isn’t earning a pat on the back from me, knowing it all goes to shambles the moment the other side takes the reins. Prosecute just like they do. Vigorously.
I have a vehicle with one of these auto off switches. I have to manually turn it off every time I start my car. It is a real pain. Those things kill starters. I still have $7,000 left to pay off the car, and when it’s paid off I’m not in a hurry to rush out and get a new car without one of these switches because I’m sick of having a car payment.
Some models with the start/stop feature…if not all of them…have the starter inside the transmission. Which means a more costly repair, I suspect.
You can bet on it.
Starter in the TRANSMISSION?!?
That is INSANE!!!
Especially on a starter being used that much!
Wow…..
Not any dumber than a sealed CVT that has no dipstick and “lifetime” fluid.
Or, maybe a more clever way to sell more expensive repairs for the inevitable failures just past the warranty expiration.
I was looking at a certified used Nissan Murano until I found out that it had a CVT, then I said “sayonara”.
my toyota starter is in the valley of the engine under the intake.
I also have one with that same off switch. But it has a button on the center console that turns that switch off so it will not suddenly turn off the engine at a long light. Easy to hit that button right after starting the vehicle. However, I forgot to hit that button once recently and when the engine suddenly turned off at a light it briefly threw me. I thought the vehicle had developed some problem, but when the light turned green and I hit the gas I realized what was going on when it suddenly fired up and I hit that button right away.
Having that switch turn your engine off so often must be hard on the starter and maybe other components, and potential repairs down the road must negate whatever slight savings on gas you might experience. Not just that, but the gas you expend starting it so often must help negate any savings as well. Absolutely bonkers concept in my opinion. I hope that manufacturers will now provide a software update to simply turn off that switch permanently if that is what you want. Heck, there is so much software and computer chips to do all kinds of different things that even after more than a year I am still learning what it all does and might never learn all of it.
Stop buying cars w/digital/computerized parts? Just a suggestion.
Be careful turning it off and on. I heard that is what causes the problem. Doing that shortens life of an additional battery needed to operate the on off switch and thus drains your main battery.
They paid $800! to replace that battery the first time. They Did it themselves the second time, but was in unnecessarily difficult place to get to so not easy.
They said dealer friend told them you need to either ALWAYS! turn off before you start car or always leave on so the battery recharges the right way.
Correcting the climate change miss alarmi$m is making progress,
and has a ways to go to make it last…
a key follow up step is needed via a SC appeal to effect a reversal of 2007 Supreme Court ruling in 2007 Massachusetts vs EPA (b o era )
i.e. more (smarter) time in Court… with Judges that are not miss influenced…. and instead, go by the law – with verifiable facts.
Article:

Steve Milloy, former Trump EPA Transition Team Advisor and Senior Fellow at the Energy & Environment Legal Institute, said in written statement:
He added, “Even if the Trump EPA wins in court with respect to rescinding the endangerment finding, without also overturning Massachusetts v. EPA, the next Democrat-run EPA will simply re-issue the endangerment finding and all the Trump EPA’s great work will have been erased.”
Now, if only we could get back all those Cash for Clunkers cars. That program was downright evil.
Don’t even get me started on the Cash for Clunkers. My liberal sister happened to be looking for a new car right at that time and was going to give me her old one. She got the new car with the subsidy and I never got the old car because the old cars had to be destroyed. She never even thanked me for buying her a car.
Funny dat… my dad didn’t thank me for his new truck either. 😉
Required draining the oil out of the engine and pouring in sodium silicate.
Yes, evil because there are charities in some parts of the country that fix up clunkers to help people get off welfare. If there is no public transportation available, then a person needs a car to get to a job. If a clunker runs, it doesn’t matter if it’s an ugly duckling.
But then, the Left wants us all to crowd into the cities with public transportation. Easier to control the masses. (See George Will’s one moment of insight in his classic “Why Socialists Love Trains”).
SOOO many people never understood what you just “said”! Most thought it was just a way to sell new cars. It was an evilness cloaked in saving the planet!
Repos were off the charts a couple months later and the people who had no business buying a new car were SOL, no wheels to buy. With a financed new car they now had to carry full coverage and now probably had a payment… with their clunker, liability only and no payment.
Yes, Obama’s Automotive Demolition Derby consisted of three events:
GM ChryslerUAW union bailout (to kill off the American auto manufacturing while pocketing big campaign donations for Dems.)And millions of Americans bought it…
The greatest thinker/contributor to so called “green energy” was and still is Buckminster Fuller. Within the laws of nature is this reality: Nature does the most with the least, meaning it is the most efficient system around planet Earth. Al Gore et al. forgot what Fuller predicted. Early 70’s Fuller was real popular, ergo Earth Day came into being. Transfer efficiency ratios are the key to green energy. If it takes $10 to make $5 worth of energy you are in trouble…recall government subsidies for wind farms, solar, etc.
Then again, much like the Covid scams (bring in Rahm Emanuel’s line: “Never let a crisis go to waste!”) climate change was also a scam, making those who got on board very rich by duping others.
The physics are uncompromising.
Batteries are simply not a good way to power a vehicle as electricity is not a primary energy source. There are lots of drawbacks with batteries.
A short list
…and yet, we got along fine for all those years…Actually, better than fine, w/one-person factory jobs supporting a family of…5? 5? 7?
“Nature does the most with the least.” Yes! I’m all in favor of simply planting more trees…as the climate scammers chop down Brazilian forests to accommodate their useless pow-wow.
” “We are all gonna die” shtick”…

And my favorite – focusing on and citing wind chill instead of temperature. Pure alarmism.
It’s irritating as heck.
The naming of winter storms a la hurricanes and stating the number of people that could be affected (“100 to 120 million people potentially impacted” blah blah blah). 🙄
“obama switches” Lol love the rebranding.
Absolutely love it. Congress could (and should) de-fang all of these government agencies to prevent this sort of thing, but they won’t. It would be so easy to do and so sensible, but there’s no graft in it so they won’t.
Good for Zeldin. He’s one of Trump’s good picks.
Green Energy Climate Mandates were foisted on an unsuspecting public at least FIFTY YEARS before technology was available to make a practical transition from fossil fuels to these flying pigs in a poke we call renewable energy sources!
It is if King George of England had mandated that all saddle horses and horseless carriages be replaced by steam-powered locomotives at the start the American Revolutionary War in 1775, when the first practical passenger-carrying locomotive trains weren’t developed until in 1825 by the railway engineers George and Robert Stephenson!
Had he done so, the American colonists would have won the war in the first few months, because without those flatulent horses and horse-drawn wagons to carry their troops and supplies, the Redcoats would have been up sh-ts creek without a steamboat!
But apparently even the most inane politicians of 250 years ago had more sense than the Green New Deal crowd of today!
To say President Trump made the right move in revoking the green energy mandates is a massive understatement!
In particular, CO2 is not a “greenhouse gas.” There would literally be no green plant on this planet were it not for photosynthesis, which consumes CO2 and emits oxygen. The gas is heavy so that it remains close to the ground where plants can get to it. It is largely not found in the upper atmosphere at all.
I am anxious to hear that “Humphrey’s Executor” has been overturned, because it is this obscure ruling that created the entire “all-powerful administrative state.” Complete with its own non-Judicial “courts.”
P.S.: The most prevalent “greenhouse gas” is: water vapor! (Seriously.)
Re: water vapor
sarcasm intended:
During foggy weather days, the water vapor is such a hazard that it must be eliminated
-but for some reason, the higher fees and taxes never seemed to alter the weather changing.
hmmm…
Sarcasm ended
I would like to do some research on that. Even CO2 alarmists say that the rising temperatures they claim are CO2 related have occurred at night, not daytime. Humidity in the air does hold onto heat at night, it is why humid places are warm at night, and deserts cool down much more. It is possible that all of the alleged heating is related to water vapor increasing in thte atmosphere. (But the increasing water vapor is a result of increasing CO2).
P.S.: The most prevalent “greenhouse gas” is: water vapor!
yep
a good example is out in the plains of Idaho or any other flat agricultural area
you look out over the plain and it’s blanketed in a distinct gray layer
that’s water vapor evaporating from irrigated fields / croplands
CO2 is injected into greenhouses to encourage plant growth. So, if the earth has more atmospheric CO2, plants will flourish and use it up.
CO2 levels in earth’s atmosphere have been falling for 50 million years, with an especially sharp drop-off 2.6 million years ago.
One very sharp drop off is called the Younger Dryas Event about 12-14 thousand years ago. That brought CO2 levels way down. Using fossil fuels has help the Earth recover from that event.
that 2.6 million year date is the start of the Pleistocene Epoch, the glacial age of continental ice sheets in Europe and North America. There were 4 main ice episodes with warmer interglacial ages between them
Pleistocene – Wikipedia
The Pleistocene Epoch is a geological period that lasted from about 2.58 million to 11,700 years ago, known for its repeated glaciations and significant climate changes. It is often referred to as the “Ice Age” and played a crucial role in the evolution and distribution of many species, including early humans.
CO2 is the “Gas of God” without it, we are all dead!
Next, do “fossil fuels” that are “not renewable.” As if at one time, during one season and one year, all the fossils up to that time turned to gas and…guess what? turns out that was it — never did dinosaur/animal bones EVER turn into “fossil fuels again – not renewable. (As if fossils didn’t turn into oil w/every passing season — new fossils, new fuel.)
Making cars great again! Hooray!
First thing I did when I bought my 2020 Ford F-150 was figuring out how to permanently disable the Auto OFF/ON nonsense.
Was it as easy as pulling a fuse? 2020 5.0, have been pushing the cancel button since new but would love a permanent fix.
Thank you Mr. President! Another winnamin!
Nature is healing.
That was good, really good. Even sensed somewhat of a change in attitude from the presstitutes….
Will it stay, or could a Democrat admin put it all back again? Its useless long-term if it depends on who is in the WH.
there will be civil conflict before americans accept tranny soldiers, green new scams, open borders or USAID SCAMS.
Lee Zeldin is GREAT and he lives in Mastic Beach, Long Island. My uncle had a summer house there on Lakeview Dr a short block to the marina. Summers there were incredible for a kid from New York City! It’s great to see a guy who grew up in Suffolk County in the White House with President Trump!
Glad to read all of the comments about the auto switch off. Stupidest thing I’ve ever experienced just sitting in traffic. Wondering whether that car in front of me was having a breakdown and I would be stuck behind him. Just keep the car running. (good Arcade Fire song).
What year was this on/off switch mandated?
I’m very happy with my 2004 BMW 3 series convertible, my second one in that generation, although it’s a gas guzzler and repairs are expensive.
PRAISE G-D!!
I never knew Teh One was responsible for that absurd engine shut off bull—-. Too late for our car unfortunately. I hate that feature.
Been waiting for this for years. Millions of climate grifters will have to find new jobs actually producing something that benefits society.
Well yes and no.
There is the small matter of a couple of American courts determining the gas of life is pollution.
Until these rulings are reversed in court, it is just a matter of the next gangsters in DC or another bent judge reversing this.
Here’s hoping. Is
I had a car with that stupid stop/start feature. It was annoying as heck. Went to the dealer asking if they could permanently shut it off, said no it would be illegal for them to do that. So, every time you turned the ignition off and started the car again, you had to manually turn the feature off. The amount of gas your saved was negligible but the cost of high-end battery and starter replacements was high. My mechanic said to remember to shut it off right after you start the car.
some of those vehicles,
had a switch on the dash built in, to allow the vehicle engine to stay on.
Alternative manual work around,
some people often placed the transmission into neutral (and applied the brakes) at stop lights – which allowed the engine to stay running.
Pretty easy.
Then place the transmission into drive and foot lightly on the throttle at the green light…
I do not think that is taught in driving school, nor is it in the drivers manual. ; )
But, one may need to look out for the climate police. ; )
Drive safely…
imho
Don’t have that particular car anymore. I had been told by a transmission guy not to do the neutral thing as it causes accelerated wear on the unit. Next car I get will be a manual, if I can find one.
The people that used to drive manual transmissions
have an easier time dealing with
an
automatic transmission (moving from drive to neutral to drive ).
That is not that many people these days,
because a large majority of vehicles are automatic transmissions.
p.s.
accelerated wear on the engine ‘starter’ occurs with the automatic engine on/off hidden operation ( b o switch ).
So, given that vehicles do not stay new over time,
it one’s free choice on what to wear down, or not.
imho
Start stop was engineering malpractice.
I’m thrilled by this. Also anticipate that vehicles with those mandates just lost value. Lot of inventory on dealer lots so it will be interesting to watch the car markets.
How’s about we get rid of the kill switch next!
Oh no!
Obamboozler’s mansion will be under water by the middle of summer.
He’ll have to move in with Al Gore.
The comfortable American sedan, which has not been made here since 2011, will hopefully reappear in this deregulatory environment. Lee Zeldin is right on. And there are parallels to the auto industry that need attention as well.
Just as the comfortable American sedan disappeared, so too has the affordable single-family home. Regulations that target land uses, require central planning, and enforce dubious goals have proliferated. These regulations empower large developers, as well as bureaucrats, at the expense of American families. Our urban and suburban environments have suffered from overregulation.
Congrats for not always thinking that the answer is “Buy the newest year’s vehicle!”
I am very happy to see that stupid switch eliminated among rolling back the rest of this nonsense.
My car has the auto off switch and it’s incredibly annoying, particularly after reading the statement in the owners manual that it has nothing to do with gas mileage, but everything to do with cult demands.
I also have been holding off at replacing my truck. It’s 14 years old and over 300,000 miles, but I couldn’t justify the headache of DEF in a diesel.
Thank you God. Those stupid kill switches were the worst.
I always feel like the car stalled.
Maybe now Democrat states will start dumping their research into tax-drivers-by-the-mile scams.
What, and give up designs of greater control over individuals?
Such leadership cannot change their nature. As much as some of them might claim it’s to make up the revenue shortfall from fuel excise taxes, it is not.
For a $110 or so, you can buy online an Autostop Eliminator device if one is available for your vehicle. This particular outfit doesn’t list one for Honda models, though. I don’t know why. In any case, we are keeping our mid-1990’s Ford pickup truck and our mid-2000’s Honda Accord until the wheels fall off.
I do want to say I’m pleased, but this is a pronouncement of something that started in Obama……12-16 years ago. Factories and such have been retooled over years to the mandates. We have 3 years maximum of a “known” American friendly POTUS with a patently hostile do nothing congress that will………
do nothing with his pronouncement and of course, judges to stand in the way. And maybe only 8 months if we lose the midterms.
Yes, I do want to believe, but the stop light stopping engines aren’t getting taken off the assembly line anytime soon.
I bet if people stopped buying them…
YEE HAW !!
Because of the EV debacle, Ford wrote off 19 Billion, GM 7-8B and Stellantis 27B. They did not go out of business, so they needed to raise prices on everything else they sold. Why is the average price for a new car $50k? EV mandates from the green new steal.
Funny how those who say “the science is settled” don’t have any idea what science they are settling.
It blows my mind that anyone would pay $50,000 for a car…new, used, any kind. We’ve reached peak stupidity. (Wait — that was in 2008 — and 2012– wasn’t it?)
$1.3 Trillion that was stolen from the American people with a phone and a pen.
$1.3 trillion as consequence for one finding of endangerment to regulate CO2.
A donut says that the yearly amount stolen from Americans between direct and indirect costs for all excessive regulations exceeds a trillion per year for many years.
If this declaration didn’t do it, President Trump needs to reverse Obama’s declaration that CO2 is “pollution.” It is not, it is a necessary gas for life on Earth.
9th grade biology taught that (Chlorophyl) in green plant life utilizes carbon and sunlight as part of a photosynthesis process to emit oxygen that is needed for animal
life to inhale. and exhale carbon.
The design of nature is amazing. : )
The scams miss run by some humans that some others get duped by is…sad… and very costly.
People know…
Listening in school classes can help.
( not sure if biology etc. is properly taught these days, years…)
Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things,

” don’t take any wooden nickels ”
Love thy neighbors
whenever I rent a car have to spend 20 mins disabling all of the safety features I don’t need – also the stop.start feature which is a real PITA
In the summer of 2024, my 2004 Chrysler Town & Country went in for a starter replacement, I had to rent a vehicle to get back and forth to work for a couple of days. The rental company gave me a 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. The first day that I pulled in to my employer’s parking lot, some of my colleagues thought that I finally ditched the decrepit minivan. I said c’mon, I would not by a hybrid or a straight EV and I certainly would not buy a white car. I couldn’t stand the start/stop nor the sound of the electric motor engaging when the vehicle was put into reverse.
God does work in mysterious ways, and I thank Him.
