Fox News host Bret Baier was given exclusive access to President Trump during the much-anticipated summit in Alaska.
Baier interviewed President Trump on Air Force One going to Anchorage and during the day’s events. In this interview, Baier asked President Trump what his expectations were going in. Trump noted it is not his place to negotiate the terms of a ceasefire on behalf of Ukraine, however, he is willing to be an intermediary in a focused effort to stop the conflict.
Stopping the killing is President Trump’s main priority, and peace is the elusive prize. In the background, as previously noted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the administration accepts the conflict in Ukraine is essentially a proxy war between the former Biden administration officials, NATO warmongers, international banking interests and Russia.
In a moment of genuine sunlight upon the backstory, President Trump notes he told President Putin, “There’s no way we are going to make a deal … impossible … because I have wise guys who created a phony deal, the Trump-Russia collusion hoax; and until those things are settled up, a reset in the relationship with Russia is impossible.” WATCH:
This framework essentially validates what a small group of deep weeds walkers, including myself, have suspected. From the perspective of Trump and his big picture objectives, the recent Russiagate releases and declassifications are not so much to get accountability upon the perpetrators, but rather to make the backstory so well known, that a strategic reset with Russia is no longer impeded by manufactured domestic issues inside the USA.
The value in Russiagate declassification and information releases, is more about laying the groundwork for a reset – and stopping the political opposition therein. That’s the Big Picture value to President Trump.
That is quite a big and significantly magnanimous position to take by President Trump.
Hopefully, the MAGA base will eventually come around to this understanding, because right now they are intensely expecting criminal accountability. That’s not President Trump’s goal; he’s thinking much bigger and more consequential than holding the irrelevant gnats accountable.
Apparently, Hillary Clinton can see that. It’s such a big altruistic position, her tribe appears genuinely stunned. Hopefully, the base of MAGA will also accept this strategic purpose.

Sundance, I gotta say, that’s an insult to gnats!
“The value in Russiagate declassification and information releases, is more about laying the groundwork for a reset – and stopping the political opposition therein. That’s the Big Picture value to President Trump.”
Wow! I was truly confused why the Russiagate details were coming out, when it appeared that none of the perpetrators was ever going be held accountable for their treasonous crimes.
This makes so much sense now.
If the evidence is revealed, and there is no accountability, no justice, it will convince many that the USA is simply not salvageable.
Who wants to live under the rule of a bunch of criminals, under the rule of the greatest crime syndicate in the history of the world?
There are likely to be a very substantial percentage of the general population.
That scenario will likely lead to many more coming to the conclusion that they’d be much better off if their State were to leave the union and become a nation of its own.
The Texas Nationalist Movement is leading that effort in Texas.

There are several other independence movements in other States, Louisiana and New Hampshire being two of them.
I think that this is KNOWN is good enough for me. Why spend all that time and money trying to send them to prison? It’s not going to happen. Just having it brought out into the open is enough for me.
The problem is, and always was, that if they go unpunished, they will try it again. Why wouldn’t they? And it reflects poorly on our country – that we would allow treason and the attempted overthrow of the government. As if we do not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the traitors in our country.
It’s not known until the MSM has to broadcast the guilty pleas of those conspirators. Only then will it be obvious to the entire country that what really happened and what the consequences are.
So many people demanding accountability seem to have forgotten that the entire court system is corrupt.
Crooked judges and prosecutors, evidence tampering, jury tampering, witness intimidation, convicts disappearing or ‘suiciding’ while in custody.
How are HONEST convictions supposed to happen? How?
Between a corrupt court system and certain lawfare, is accountability a realistic expectation?
It’s not, unfortunately.
Beside the fact that a 24/7 media clown show would ensue hogging every second of the news feed, creating even more chaos.
Give it up; it’s not going to work.
There are too many more important things to focus on to be getting sidetracked down a dead end street.

“Between a corrupt court system and certain lawfare, is accountability a realistic expectation?

As we speak, the Trump administration is enforcing accountability in DC–last night the feds busted the Subway sandwich thrower. They’re rounding up criminals across DC.
The feds are enforcing accountability of illegal aliens across the country.
The feds are enforcing accountability in numerous domains across the country, for major and minor issues.
Why is accountability NOT a realistic expectation for criminals that conspired to overthrow the government?
This throwing up the hands and saying “Nothing can be done!” is silly at best.
It’s very clear that the feds can do multiple accountability operations simultaneously. Including holding the intelligence community, politicians, and other coup plotters.
Time to stop pretending.
Going after a sandwich slinger and those illegal aliens is realistic.
As far as prosecuting coup criminals- I’ll believe it when I see it.
If President Trump says it’s a practical, feasible, and promising expectation, I would take him at his word.
So far he’s said nothing of the sort.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out, won’t we.

You have a good point! Corrupt judiciary system, Attorney General’s, and politicians across the country ignore laws and take bribes these things need to be addressed and I believe Trump understands that and will tackle it.
All of what you say is certainly true. This just means that there is only one way for justice to prevail. The military solution. Many if not all of these top officials have committed treason. Treason is a crime that is adjudicated by a military tribunal. This is how I believe justice will be served.
We need accountability, not for revenge, but to make sure people are not tempted to use IC tools against the American people again. We can’t have a functioning country when the FBI, NSA and DHS take away the civil rights of American citizens. We can’t move on until even the First Amendment protected MSM pays a price for actual crimes (not covered under 1A). Matt Taibbi suggested in Aug 15, 2025 ATW that it will take another Church Committee to deal with the corruption and get oversight. The Weaponization Committee has not tackled any of this. Otherwise we will continue to quickly turn into a totalitarian regime.
The “irrelevant gnats” are criminals operating within and subverting the rule of law. That is a pretty big deal.
He still needs to go after that bitch Hillary. She’s the cause of all his problems.
I see it, but I don’t like it. There’s nothing to stop the corrupt Uniparty from using the same tactics again in the future. Communists don’t experience shame, so that’s off the table…
I’m sorry to say, Sundance, but I want Comey behind bars.
I’m not sorry. It’s called justice.
well … then there’s this:
I believe some GOP aide’s head will be on the chopping block presently …
… he neglected to pick up his printout at the hotel desk
Printout identifying gift, menu at Trump-Putin summit left at hotel printer
Peace offering Trump’s gift to Putin revealed after doc laying out details of Alaska summit left in hotel printer
Oh my! What a terrible “accident”!
I see a lot of “We need Accountability”.
Can someone please explain to me who gets to decide what Accountability is -and what exactly is it?
Depends on what “they” are arrested for and convicted of and then the discretion of the judges as to sentencing. It’s called paying for your crime(s) according to the law of the land. But judges and lawyers have corrupted our system so bad, it doesn’t seem possible to achieve justice ever again. The founding fathers could easily adopt Ayn Rand’s lament if they were still alive: “What was it all for?”
Yes, RussiaGate releases have de-toxified US / Russia relations, but the US intel / justice matrix also needs to be cleaned out, and earnest prosecutions of Brennan, Comey, et al., are proceeding, even if only for perjury in Congress. I don’t know why Sundance projects such persistent negativity about this and Treehousers go along with it.. Cases are moving forward in grand juries.
Clinton’s change of heart will last just until the run-up to the mid-term elections. She is probably already laying the groundwork for another smear campaign.
Her statement about nominating PresTrump for the Peace Prize was just a machination to insert herself into the news cycle
If you’re not in the news, are you really there?
I’ve always said a truth & reconciliation commission was enough for me, and this can – if continued – be close enough to that.
So long as the bad actors are still in place and unpunished, their fangs are not completely drawn, but publicity can become close enough that we don’t have to start a civil war to stop them and they don’t have to start a civil war to stop us.
That said, I would like to see more work on reducing the structural incentives that will cause this to keep happening.
This is the most disturbing analysis I have ever read from you SD. Tell me it ain’t so. Tell me you do not subscribe to this, that it is only what others are projecting and you are reporting.
That is forgiveness at a grand scale. Pres. Trump was the most aggrieved party in terms of personal safety, wealth, and reputation. If he wants to forgive the bad actors for a bigger prize for the world, we have to listen and pay heed.
Wrong. The citizens of this country were ‘most wronged’ by the scumbags.
I’d like to see the President get through the 2026 elections with a strong majority in the House and possible 60 seats in the Senate (yeah, I know I’m dreaming on that one!). Still, something better than what he has now in the Senate. He’ll be in his final two years and he can go for broke. So some of his emphasis has to turn to those elections. Perhaps the RNC needs to move closer to him so he be a bit more hands-on. If he loses the House he’s on defense again. If he loses the House and the Senate, he’s out the door.
Sundance,
you’ve been thrashing Bondi, Patel, Bongino, Ratcliffe….everyone but Tulsi, telling us the recent releases and “leaks” that there are grand juries being assembled which all have one purpose–to keep Trump backers on the Trump train, leading them on, making them think there will be indictments when there won’t be, making them think there will be justice applied when there won’t be. Just yesterday you pointed out your analysis of Patel’s recent explanation in which he said the FBI/DOJ were “educating “the American public. You believed the word “educating” was Patel’s way of saying there would be no further actions, just “educating.”
You haven’t minced words, telling all of them they are fiddling with fire. In addition, it’s been your position Trump hasn’t really known what they were actually doing.
In showing us Baier’s interview of Trump, you proffer that Trump is telling Baier and his audience that he’s not out for blood, for justice through trials, but rather that Trump is taking the “altruistic” path: a full court press of information revealed to the public so that the truth of the Russia, Russia story is finally heard by enough Americans that it can no longer be hung as an albatross around the neck of a POTUS who very much wants to be able to conduct successful diplomacy with Russia and its leader, something he feels he can’t do until all those lies have been put to rest.
IF this means Trump is not looking for arrests, indictments, convictions, then wouldn’t that mean that the people he put in charge of the FBI and DOJ are actually following what he wanted done–a full revelation to the people, nothing else?
Unless I am reading your words incorrectly, you sound okay with that, which would mean you are reassessing your criticisms of Bondi, Patel, Bongino, Ratcliffe, etc.
Are you?
Why can’t we have both at the same time?
I’m still not clear on how the U.S. can be an “intermediary” when they are actually a party to the conflict.
I’ve wondered about that, too. Putin has to know US tax money is pouring into Ukraine to pay the salaries and pensions of:
Ukrainian government bureaucrats; schoolteachers; first responders; health care workers; and others in the “Ukrainian” government. We probably pay Zelenskyy, either directly, or indirectly since we pay so much of their government workers now, perhaps the Ukrainian “treasury” can dip down just deep enough to pay him. Money being fungible, we would be indirectly paying Z-man by paying everyone else thus freeing up some loose change for the “Ukrainian government” to pay him.
Legally, we are CO-BELLIGERENTS with the quasi nation of Ukraine.
No. Just No.
Yes, not going for “criminal accountability” and letting the guilty go unpunished is a fine and magnanimous policy directive. Bigger fish to fry and all that.
Of course should the Democrats win back the White House in 2028 the same “irrelevant gnats” will be free to go after Trump & Company again.
No accountability, no midterm support!
Jim Reynolds wrote a very compelling piece on August 16th and published in “Rip’s Newsletter.” It’s worth your time to find and read. While it’s magnanimous of Trump to once again let Hillary, Obama, and all the bad actors off the hook, Reynolds points out that unpunished, they will be just like the lawless gangs that were allowed to loot at will under Biden-Harris. They will do it again, and probably worse next time. Saying that justice can’t be obtained because our courts are corrupt doesn’t cut it. Until and unless these venal people face more than being exposed, they will continue to plot our downfall as a nation of laws and equal justice for all. May I suggest Treepers read Vince Flynn’s book “Term Limits”.
Trump wasn’t the only person victimized by those clowns. There was Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Roger Stone, Michael Caputo, Jeff Sessions, General Flynn, and even Ivanka Trump, who got stuck being interviewed by Mueller’s people because she just happened to ride up in an elevator in Trump Tower that included some random Russians. Trump isn’t the only victim here, just the best known.
Thank God President Trump did not give exclusive access to Hannity. Baier is bad enough.
Yah, well. Trump may have the legal authority to “let bygones be bygones,” but he does NOT have the MORAL authority to do so. Reason? Simple: when it is obvious that multiple crimes against the Republic and its citizens are no big deal, its citizens will take the hint.
There will be one of two reactions: either the citizens will commence criminal activity, or the citizens will commence revolutionary activity. It’s all laid out in the Declaration of Independence, ya’know.
Can’t we do both things?? Shine sunlight upon the bad deeds, then follow though with prosecution??
Don’t need to send them all to prison, just Brennan and Clapper.
For the others, sign an executive order taking away their pensions, their security clearances and ban them from public service. If they say they’re innocent tell them to sue us and see how it ends up. Most will take the exile.
Irrelevance is a fate worse than death to most of these people. Like mob informants living in witness protection, stripped of their access they can no longer enjoy the perks and grandiose lifestyles of their criminal past.
The best thing we can do to secure a better future for Americans and the free world is to clean up our elections. That is our number one issue, because absent full accountability, there will always be a new crop of swamp wannabees installed to please their globalist masters, no matter how many are arrested.
Barring capital punishment for TREASON, these people have nothing at all to fear, with a constant stream of fellow travelers installed in key positions, to bail them out at the next fake “election” cycle.
When the first stories about the “Hillary Plan to Create Trump-Russia” hit the airwaves and printed media, it sounded familiar to me from sometime at least two or three years ago. It was nearly three years before, a few weeks into October or November 2022. John Ratcliffe, then acting CIA Director, sent a letter to Lindsey Graham as Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. I made a screen cap of it back in 2022 and have it saved to the hard drive of this computer. I’ve copied the text:
Chairman Graham,
In response to your request for Intelligence Community (IC) information related to the
Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Crossfire Hurricane Investigation, I have declassified the
following:
. In late July 2016, U.S. intelligence agencies obtained insight into Russian intelligence
analysis alleging that U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had approved a
campaign plan to stir up a scandal against U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump
by tying him to Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National
Committee. The IC does not know the accuracy of this allegation or the extent to
which the Russian intelligence analysis may reflect exaggeration or fabrication.
. According to his handwritten notes, former Central Intelligence Agency Director
Brennan subsequently briefed President Obama and other senior national security
officials on the intelligence, including the “alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on
July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald
Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.”
. On 07 September 2016, U.S. intelligence officials forwarded an investigative referral
to FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence
Peter Strzok regarding “U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s approval of a
plan conceming U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russian hackers
hampering U.S. elections as a means of distracting the public from her use of a
private mail server.”
As referenced in his 24 September 2020 letter to your Committee, Attorney General Barr
has advised that the disclosure of this information will not interfere with ongoing Department of
Justice investigations. Additional declassification and public disclosure of related intelligence
remains under consideration; however, the IC welcomes the opportunity to provide a classified
briefing with further detail at your convenience.
Respectfully.
John Ratcliffe
It is magnanimous, and you can have both. You can have guilty pleas, with very reduced sentences for dozens involved, or you can go to court and bleed them dry for the next few years and suffer the consequences of FAFO.
MAGA HAS TO HAVE SOME SKINS. Or Trump will be seen like Bush and the rest before him. I pray to God above he sees both sides of this coin. If Hillary is never going to be “Locked Up!” she can surely be made to sweat, and issue a confession and live out the rest of her life in comfort. This is the same for all of them.
