I can tell you from firsthand recent experience, Russia has psychologically prepared the citizens of the country for war against the West, if that is what’s needed.
The Russian people do not want war but trust me – they are a hardened nation filled with people who are used to hardship in comparative terms to Americans and Europeans. Their military bases are full of trainees, and the streets have as many young men in fatigues as they do business attire.
The roads and highways are full of not-so-subtle billboards preparing the nation. There are posters on the streets and in the subway stations, and flyers in almost every business, shop, office and retail location preparing the citizens of Russia. There is also a very cold and deliberate tone in all of the expressed government information about preparation. In short, they’re ready.

Washington and Berlin announced earlier this month that the U.S. will deploy the arms in Germany starting in 2026, along with Tomahawk cruise missiles and developmental hypersonic weapons. The missiles “have significantly longer range than current land-based fires in Europe,” the White House said in a statement.
The move is meant to show the U.S.’s commitment to NATO and its European allies.
In a speech on Sunday to mark Russian navy day, Putin accused the U.S. of escalating tensions, saying “we will take mirror measures to deploy, taking into account the actions of the United States, its satellites in Europe and in other regions of the world,” Reuters reported.

RUSSIA TODAY – Russia will consider itself free from a moratorium on the deployment of medium and shorter-range missiles if the US places missiles in Germany, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in an address to sailors at the Navy Day parade in St. Petersburg.
Earlier this month, the US and Germany announced plans to deploy long-range precision missile systems in Europe. According to a joint US-German press release dated July 10, the US “will begin episodic deployments of the long-range fires capabilities of its Multi-Domain Task Force in Germany in 2026.”
Putin called this announcement “noteworthy,” as such a deployment will put important Russian state and military facilities, administrative and industrial centers, as well as defense infrastructure within the reach of the weapons. He noted that the flight time of such missiles to targets on Russian territory would be about ten minutes, and that they could also be equipped with nuclear warheads.
“This situation is reminiscent of the events of the Cold War related to the deployment of American medium-range missiles in Europe,” Putin stated. He said that while Russia has long left the Cold War in the past, the US “did not reciprocate.” The president warned that if the US goes through with the missile deployment plan, Russia will respond accordingly. Deterrence in the international application is not self-defense. It’s an offensive chess move – which is exactly what Putin is doing. He’s upping the ante with a counter-threat. It’s really a calculated escalation of risk that underlies deterrence.
Recommend more temperate language in the future. It’s tedious and one has to have all the tools to back it up.

The European leadership of all countries involved were all moving the chess pieces. Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia, Germany, Italy, France and GB plus others. Thanks for posting these. The Chinese ad is boilerplate propaganda, slick and visually impressive. IMO the Russian ad is by far the best and would have gone over big in the States, with its emphasis on one hard guy, protecting his family and home. I got as far as the teenage girl telling us a story about “your nation’s” (they won’t even say the word “America”) Patriot Defense Systems, run by a girl (natch), who grew up in California with two moms, before I stopped watching. It’s hard to comprehend who these American ad campaigns are designed to attract.

It has been proven (can’t remember where I read the study) that humans cannot multi-task. Michael Saylor in The Iced Coffee Hour interview described his thought process on stepping down as CEO and taking the Chairman position to focus solely on understanding the best vehicle to act as the reserve treasury asset for his publicly traded company in which he is the majority shareholder. He did this because the CEO has too many things to focus on to provide security for the shareholders and employees and researching and understanding the financial markets is a full-time job in of itself.
The “Leader” (insert King, President, Chairman, Prime Minister, Prince, etc.) cannot personally do and understand everything, so they rely on agencies to do things and be experts. The problem lies that an intelligence agency can make stuff up to suit their best interests: we need conflict and enemies in order to have more funding for spies.
Based on hindsight, is there a major terrorist, riot, mass shooting incident that the subject wasn’t “known” to the FIB? How many terror incidents would we have if the FIB wasn’t inciting in order to make the big arrest so the Taskforce/unit/etc head could get a promotion?

But, many times I find myself remembering the little boy in the movie “Liar Liar”. Jim plays the father & he’s constantly lying at work and to his son. On his son’s birthday he lies AGAIN & breaks his son’s heart, who later makes a wish & it comes true. That his father can’t lie… The rest of the movie was interesting & funny at times.

After the INF we continued to potentially deploy TLAM-N in the Mediterranean and now with access to the Baltic, could deploy there as well. Of course TLAM-N was removed from the inventory so only conventional missiles outside of air-launched. As far as Russia, they parked subs off the east coast during the USSR and could do so again.
