Today, June 12th, is Russia Day, a national holiday in the Russian federation. The symbolism of the intentionally timed events happening today seems to be lost on most western media.
A Russian Yasen-class nuclear submarine named “Kazan” arrived in Havana, Cuba today after piloting through the Florida straits. Watching a massive nuclear submarine sail into Havana is something extraordinary considering all the provocations taking place between the USA and Russia surrounding the conflict in Ukraine.
Additionally, in a counteraction to provide clarity to the intents and economic purposes of the Biden administration (DoS, CIA and IC), today the Treasury Dept announces new 2nd round sanctions against Russia. However, in comparative terms, the physical appearance of a nuclear-powered Russian submarine and a set of accompanying warships carrying hypersonic cruise missiles approximately 30 miles from the USA mainland, is a little more dramatic than western saber rattling about sanctioning two Russian banks, Sberbank and VTB.
The Russian submarine fleet, and specifically the Yasen-class submarine group, is the tip of the spear against any military force the USA might choose to deploy in Eastern Europe. Russian President Vladimir Putin is essentially signaling the people behind Joe Biden that he is willing to participate in the provocation approach.
The USA provoked Russia by moving NATO ever closer, including inside Ukraine. Now we see Russia provoking NATO by moving a nuclear capable fleet into position just a few miles from the USA coast. This follows the recent EU election where one of the key messages from the crushing of the pro-war leftists, was an EU citizenry rebuking the possibility of war with Russia.
The EU populists know Ukraine is a proxy fight driven by the United States and they do not want to participate. The European Union leadership wants war and leftist policy, the European Union citizens want peace and increased national sovereignty. The two EU political preferences are diametrically in conflict.
NATO and the proverbial western financial system (WEF group) want to block Russia, China, Iran and the growing economies from impeding with their carbon-trading schemes. The dollar-based digital currency is the largest operational hurdle in the process of creating a system of control based on energy use.
Digital identities and digital currencies are the predicate for digital control of the population. Thus, if you chase the Russian sanctions to their origination point, the motive you will find was/is essentially “the west” building a wall around the dollar-based global trade and finance system. Conflict with Russia set up the justification.

Right about US Navy submariners. Uncle Bob graduated Annapolis and sunk a lot of Jap tonnage as a Sub Commander in WWII.
Then he was commissioned Captain of the Blueback sub built/launched at Ingalls in ’59/60. It was the last diesel boat built by the USN. Bob worked with Ingalls’ Supervisor (fishing trips included) and they brought that Sub in ‘below budget and ahead of schedule (probably that last time that has happened to a Naval contract).
So yeah, my family including my US Navy Office father ( the subject Mr. Roberts was based on) knew a lot about sub warfare and were kept advised by Bob who was head of the Pacific Sub Fleet out of his home in Point Loma, CA.
Twenty years ago, one our good friends in Long Beach, MS was a PHD who worked at the Naval facilities at Stennis Space Center near by and worked on 3d modeling research for sonar defense systems for the USN, especially Subs. Had Hitler honored his non-aggression pact with Stalin and directed all his efforts to the west, Britain would have been lost. Without Britain as a staging area for our late entry into the European theater, all of Europe would almost certainly have fallen. It nearly did even with Hitler’s folly.
The USSR lost 16% of their population to the war. In contrast, we lost about 1/2% of our population. Their westernmost manufacturing areas were destroyed. We suffered no such losses. The punishment they took enabled our victory. Yes, Lend-Lease allowed them to fight back, but if Hitler had left them alone history would have been different.
Lend-Lease was also applied to the USSR. My Naval Officer father ran oil tanker loads of petrol across the North Atlantic and through the Nazi U-Boat wolf packs, to Murmansk.
We defeated Hitler’s Third Reich by out supplying the war effort, among other means.
Certainly lend-lease was an important factor; how important seems to depend on if you go to US or Russian sources. Lend-lease did have a massive side-effect of getting the US heavily involved with Iran, which was a vital supply point.
But from a fighting/dieing standpoint, the battle of Kursk was the turning point, not D-day.
In terms of casualties, appx 2 million KIA/Missing, Kursk/Leningrad was the worst battle ever fought in known history.
The primary benefit of Lend Lease was the food and supply/freight trucks shipped. The Soviets had overall better weapon systems than the US and their industry was (and still is) massive. The tremendous sacrifice the people of Lenningrad made anchored Army Group North and the Finns, tying up a large component of the Wermacht for the duration. Stalingrad was the first pivot point, which ended Germany’s ability to move forward and ground up elite units. Kursk strategically ended the war. A cogent country would have sued for peace. The similarity in both Stalingrad and Kursk of creating defensive meatgrinders, enticing the enemy to attack. is similar to the SMO. With increased sophistication in the current western onslaught to destroy Russia, they are managing their casualties at an amazing 1 Russian KIA to
to 10/15 Ukrainian and NATO proxies KIA. Operation Bagration was the dagger to the heart of Germany. It is interesting to speculate if that type of offensive manuevers is coming next in Ukraine, or will they wait to take out what few combat Brigades we and Europeans can muster, if we are foolish enough to escalate a losing gambit further ?

Subsequent to the RF formation their leaders, including the “Putin” looked to integrate economically and culturally with Europe, even asking to join NATO.
