He’s moving most of his operations to Texas and elsewhere outside of CA. I’m on both Parler and Gab. Between the two I like the feel of Gab better, it’s very familiar like Twitter. The platform has grown a lot. In the beginning it was full of neo-Nazis and other fringe groups that had been kicked off Twitter, Facebook, and all the other social media sites. The community has grown now to the point where it’s becoming a healthy ecosystem.

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that a major political realignment is needed. The right-of-center populist faction within the GOP is the junior member in an abusive relationship with the corrupt establishment faction of the Republican Party. Left-of center populists are in a similar situation in the Democratic Party. Right- and left-of-center populists may have their differences on certain issues, but they have far more in common with one another than either faction has with the dominant factions of the political parties to which they currently ally themselves. A coalition of these two groups of populists, if it could organize itself well, would likely have the power to sweep aside the rump Democratic and Republican parties and then purge our government of the rot that has crept into it. Over the next few years, right wing populists should reach out to left wing populists to make this happen. What differences there are between the two camps can be hashed out later.
I’ve been screeching about this for years. Told my Bernie bro friends that the status quo people are screwing us from both sides. Trump and Bernie both supported middle class American workers. Trump does not support meaningless wars. Authentic people from different political viewpoints can work out their differences. And most of the time, it’s really about how much money to spend on certain programs. That’s not really something we should be killing each other over.

Parler was attacked when it was rumored POTUS Trump was headed there. Maybe Nunes doesn’t want that for Gab. I created an account there in 2016, but since I never really got into it. My account was still there so I started using it. I’m pretty sure POTUS already has a Gab account. If not, it’s there for the asking. The biggest difference between Parler and Gab is that Parler has had Mercer funding while Gab has had to fend for itself.
While I am thinking about it, many of you use emoji apps, badge apps, apps in general. Pay attention to ALL of your apps and where they come from. They can track you by where you place their emojis, etc.

Aaaaaand that is why I joined Parler for a day and left. Several people have been warning Parler and Dan B about the gaping friggin holes in Parler’s data collection.
Now they have been scraped and everyone is up in arms. Even SD stayed on twits and twats instead. All the people who were warning about their data collection and security were essentially shouted down.

Spoke w/ a friend from Eastern Europe, who grew up there. Similar feeling for him. There the hope was always the Catholic Church, priests would do 1 hr homilies each Sunday explaining the deficiencies of Communism and the State totalitarianism. Churches were packed. Then the Solidarity movement that was forced underground and they communicated via verbal coded words and phrases. Then general strikes. Our churches are fragmented and the Catholic Church in the US is aligned w/ the Dems. At some point he talked about a general strike here except for emergency workers may be the only peaceful resistance left. I am not sure it would be effective here or doable, or helpful. I am not in favor of a 3rd party, taking over the GOP party to me seems better. 3rd parties in the modern US are not effective, eg, Greens, Libertarians, etc.
So, you don’t like 3rd parties, but how effective has the GOP been? I am deeply disappointed in the GOP to which I have belonged my whole life. Boehner is out there now selling pot, Ryan is basically supporting the left… What did we get for our votes?

Just looking at the efficacy of a particular strategy. GOP as it was led to DJT nomination, so incursions from the populist side are not impossible. And we are stronger now than in 2016.
I’d like to point out that apparently Congressman Nunes (whom I followed on Parler) is ignorant of the existence of Gab and other social media sites. He painted a picture of darkness when there is still light.
Perhaps the msm has done a very good job of demonizing Gab and Nunes is reluctant to shed light on its existence.
Gab is not dependent on others, so there is significantly less concern of it disappearing.
I have never understood the need for social media in the first place, so I don’t care which platform anyone uses. The section 230 exemption can be abused by any online platform.
I know social media allows mass communication to spread more rapidly, and lots of people are making money from their social media affiliations, so social media and worse will always exist. I just don’t have any use for it. I am all for eliminating the section 230 exemption would help social media to be a better form of communication.
I don’t think the section 230 exemption will ever be touched as long as K Street is writing all of the legislation that goes to Congress. So, I would support a company like Gab that wants to be a platform which is not dependent on any actual publisher companies.
An analogy to the general divide and conquer tactics that are ongoing:
Today there was a conversation with a U.S. immigrant from Bosnia (20-25 yrs ago) whom remembered the times during the russian incursion and that conversation revealed some parallels to these years.
I let some time go by. 5- 10 minutes, maybe.
2.Later the person added, we migrated to the U.S. so that we could be free, again. I said, that here in the U.S., there is no other place to seek refuge (flight away) for peace. The person concurred.
The person said, the deteriorating societal situation (divide and conquer) started in Bosnia by getting families to hear different things from different sources, and to get them divided about opinions, and that was turned against each other by assigning derogatory terms, name calling, about an issue, or issues (such that issues did not get resolved, due to the emotions being played on the people by using name calling, or stereotyping people).
(ala similar to the mainstream media in the U.S. propagandizing fiction, denying truths for years, over time.) Dividing people, so as to conquer we-the-people.
The Dr. Pavlovs’ dog mis-trained behavior tactic (provide food and ring a bell to get happy dog salivating. Eventually provided no food, just ring a bell, and the dog salivates). The dog became divided from the truth, and believed the fiction. Not good.
That too, has a parallel to the propaganda being mis-practiced on people.
The counteracting key to success,
is to find ways for family members to see common truths, to love each other. Start small… and build on it, over time…
You may initially feel that it is insurmountable. But, its at the grass roots level, that it needs to be done by all of us,
all over the U.S. that we need to strengthen our family and friends bonds. (over the division, by embracing, highlighting, talking about the common goods.
You may not have been aware of it… Your parents (God) baptized many of you, for a reason …. [ many Pastors have mentioned why, in sermons… look them up…] )
There is strength in numbers.
To improve the strength,

( I have had a family member that distanced themself from others in the family, for years. Instead of finding reasons to distance, find reasons to embrace, grow the love.
We are rekindling the common denominators, through person to person conversation(s). it is good and growing. I can re-trust that there is mutual help – and that helps such that one does not feel isolated, in your own apartment etc., during a challenge. )
God has a plan. We are God’s children…..so, attempt to unselfishly pray, listen, discern…with Him …for Him…

Came across this nugget while researching. When Gab first started being a problem for the left. They did the same thing to them that they are doing to Parler. Exactly the same. You can read it on the Wikipedia page. (Seems like leftists are lazy and only re-interpret the first couple of paragraphs). Interestingly, their payment processing services dumped them. Stripe was one of them. Now Stripe is also the processing service that has dumped the Trump campaign.
