Status Update – DOJ/FBI Investigative Research on The Road…

I’m going to attempt to clear up some information and speak as directly as would be deemed prudent as of 8/3/20.  This will likely jump around quite a bit.

♦ USAO John Bash – Lots of discussion amid multiple circles about what West Texas USAO John Bash might be looking into.  Is he looking back in time into the FISA(702) abuses that took place during the 2016 primary season?…. That would be in addition to the familiar “unmasking” aspect?…  and, if yes, what would that indicate?

Short answer is: no-one is certain.  AG Barr did mention that Bash is looking backward on the unmasking issues beyond the timeline scope of the 2016 presidential election.  That would indicate surveillance “unmasking” and FISA “minimization” would meld because essentially the terms are synonymous depending on the type of intelligence exploitation.

Prior Obama officials were “unmasking” names associated with FBI investigations simply to dirty them up to give fuel to the fraudulent basis of “Trump-Russia”; that’s the political weaponization of intelligence.  This did happen and Bash is cited with authority to review this carve-out of the ongoing DOJ investigation into DOJ/FBI intelligence manipulation.

However, if Bash is going into the issues of the NSA database being exploited for political opposition research via FISA-702 authorities (the intentional extraction of information with intentional non-minimization) well, that’s a more expansive kettle-of-fish than would seem to be possible to fully outline before the November election.

FISC presiding judges Rosemary Collyer (’16) and James Boasberg (’18) have already outlined the continued use of the NSA database for ‘unauthorized’ purposes. [Use Site Search Tool for details]

Is this something that AG Barr would authorize USAO Bash to pursue?… that’s a big question without answer.  We would hope yes, but think about the scale of that in totality to the interests of DC writ large… Ergo, I’m not confident.

Unmasking and Non-Minimization are essentially the same issue.  The former has to do with actual FBI and intelligence investigations; the latter has to do with using the NSA database to extract information (mostly unlawful use).  Unfortunately the general belief is that FISA(702) and NSA metadata collection, which includes the ability to review information on all citizens, are critical to national security.

Even with the findings of former NSA Director Mike Rogers about the systemic abuse he was not supportive of shutting the programs down.  So, with that in mind ,would AG Barr want to undermine an operational tool that is vital to the function of national security (as defined by the total apparatus) by having a U.S. attorney expose abuses?  See the issue….

Tangentially related to this NSA database aspect, it seems clear the exploitation is not just about targeting political adversaries.   This is about money and power.  While there is no direct evidence the NSA database was being used to make money, the mere fact that Crowdstrike was a contracting agency with access points to a more financially motivated aspect.

Were these “contractors” extracting corporate, business and financial secrets to sell and or trade and make money?  Is this the ultimate insider trading scheme in Washington DC?…  The answer is actually in the question.  What entity would not eventually use that access for this purpose… it is just too easy to make money.

Apply Occam’s Razor. Of course they did.

♦ USAO John Durham – At this point the noise around the likelihood of grand jury proceedings is very loud.  CTH knows the ¹lead investigator for the entire Durham probe (name intentionally withheld). We stumbled upon it accidentally during specific events in/around DC, and the entity was confirmed in an odd way when we attempted to make contact not knowing exactly what this person was doing.  A little funny story for much later, when things settle down.  Suffice to say we triggered some folks, bigly.   They didn’t know the nature of our inquiry and presumed we knew exactly who they were.  We didn’t, but immediately after their response, we did.  A little funny now.

[¹You might even say (I do) that discovery was divinely guided and inspired; because this was so random and yet so important no-one could ever get that lucky without some help from a universe of righteousness nudging.]

Here’s the parts that only a few people are able to comprehend…. bear with me this will be free-flow and typed thought on the fly:

Because of the sensitivity of the issues being investigated; and because even the appearance of politic in the investigation is fraught with peril; almost none of the people involved ever talk to each other.  This includes Barr and Durham and definitely includes Barr and XXXXX.

The term “delicate balance” has been used so much it now generates a gag reflex.  Every conversation begins with: “understanding all the issues are entwined in a precarious delicate balance”… and then the nudge-nudge, wink-wink, non verbal communication of interpreting between the lines starts.   After a while of playing this game the frustration is enough to make you an expert at turning billiard ball into a stress ball.  Annoying as heck.

When I share that most officials, staff and investigators are genuinely clueless, I do mean they are genuinely clueless.   This includes FBI and Main Justice officials. Thus the important reason for actually getting on planes, meeting people, looking in their eyes, watching their inflection and seeing their responses.

I know the difference when a person is using the Mamet Principle and pretends not to know…. believe me, most of these people are genuinely clueless – they are not pretending.  They are more concerned with who is getting the bigger muffin from the taxpayer provided snack bar.  They care far less about what middle-America thinks about their lack of corrective action on corrupt issues they are comfortable working with/in/around all day.

If there is a grand jury; and if the grand jury returns ‘true bills’ on specific targets; we still have a filtering issue of AG Bill Barr who will then have to decide which criminal characters will be indicted and which would be too institutionally dangerous to indict.  This seems rather stark to say out loud; but we would be naive if we didn’t think there was going to be some sort of filtering taking place even with grand jury outcomes.

♦Phase-2:  For some serendipitous reason back in 2018 when the depth of the deep swamp became very visible, CTH selected mid-August 2020 as benchmark date.   If action was going to be taken by corrective elements in the DOJ or FBI that action would need to be visible, publicly visible, mid August (two weeks from now).

If there is nothing that comes out of the DOJ and FBI by mid-August, CTH will do the very best possible to launch on “phase-2” which will include us exposing the names of the investigators/prosecutors and what they are specifically known to be doing.  While that’s not the purpose, there has to be a point at which ‘We the People’ get to say enough is enough… we are shifting from prudent patience to full sunlight regardless of the damage it does to the ongoing investigation(s).

Because that’s a pretty serious thing to do; there is an assembly of very smart people coming together right before that date, and these issues will be debated.  I doubt anyone could convince me not to go full combat; but I’m willing to listen up to the very last second of my own self-imposed deadline for justice.

Phase-2 was originally going be a full expose in a manner of platforms on a key aspect that underpins the historic DOJ/FBI and Mueller Special Counsel operation.  That goal is still primary; however, it will also include telling as many people as possible whose doors need to be knocked upon to ask the questions about inaction.  Based on the feedback when we knocked the mystery doors it is likely the investigators (and others) will go bananas if their role is made public.

Once people absorb the severity of the dual systems of justice; and once a very specific issue is thoroughly understood; I am very hopeful a national response will be triggered.

♦ Lastly – In the last several days issues in the background of CTH have been challenging.  Comments are being dropped, filtered and disappeared that are totally out of our control.  We have no idea if WordPress is the cause or something more nefarious.  Regardless, please be patient the admins are working furiously to release all the comments that are being captured/blocked through some unknown technology we appear to be encountering.

“Because of the sensitivity of the issues being investigated; and because even the appearance of politic in the investigation is fraught with peril; almost none of the people involved ever talk to each other. This includes Barr and Durham and definitely includes Barr and XXXXX.”

This can lead to manipulation. Everyone is talking to some people, but no one is getting all the information. Someone with not the best interest at heart can filter what they say and target people for only information that would upset them, or cause them no concern. They can give them info that would make them think an action was mildly wrong, but in the general picture OK, or the reverse.

But if you have 5/6/10 people who barely talk to each other having to make a decision, they can be manipulated to make a decision without talking it through. The old “we’ve researched this to death, let’s just make a decision and move on.”

People are doing this to get away with illegal behavior and cover up enormous power and money grabs. Sundance says there are Trillions at stake and these people have been acting like they are above the law and will never have any repercussions.

People that would send innocent people to jail………that would include Barr. Don’t know what made him pull back on Flynn but I am thankful he did. I am guessing all the sunlight his case was getting. His stance on Stone seems heartless. Sundance stating that these people are clueless explains many of Barr’s confusing statements and our inability to discern his intentions. I worry Barr was not hired as DOJ because he is the most qualified to do the job but instead he was more qualified and experienced in….covering up. Maybe that is what the DOJ has evolved into….covering up. How could Barr justify the prosecution of Stone when the investigation was based on made up lies to oust a President of the United States. His long time friends Mueller and RR are as corrupt as the day is long but are somehow untouchable and more important than the President. Barr, according to his interview, hints of inserting “abuse of power” for what is actually breaking the law. This is a telltale sign to me. Another out mentioned during the interview … “motivation”…. or it depends on what ones motivations are concerning the law. As if having the “right” motivation determines whether you broke the law. If Barr will cover up the totality of FISA NSA abuse to keep those tools then………

The Special Council’s job was to cover for the swamp and eject Trump. When they couldn’t eject Trump, Barr came in to provide cover for the Special Council.

It is not surprising the lack of understanding the Washington bureaucrat has as to what is important to the American people. Washington is nothing but a huge trading floor. The corruption is the process to them. Hillary was not being sarcastic when she made the famous Benghazi statement ” at this point , what difference does it make? ” To her and most others in the body politic the end justified the means. They got what they wanted. Every day in Washington it is a struggle to gain power and power begets wealth. that is the sum of the game.
Trump is hurting their avenues of gaining wealth. He had wealth and they always believed he was a creature of their species. Until he started campaigning and the language he used wasn’t theirs. The avenue of attack was Lawfare. The Lawyers were the weapons of the wealthy. Trumps support system was the little guy and the little guy could be bankrupted and defeated by the lawyers. The natural synergy between Covington & Burling and the Lawfare DOJ lawyers to bankrupt and defeat the little guy with limited resources was a case study in how these Lawyers operate. Seamlessly flowing from lawfirm to government and back again.

How did the Spygate saga get so complicated? Why does peeling off a layer of the Spygate onion reveal yet another layer of the onion, seemingly without end?

IMHO, Spygate was a crowdsourced operation which started relatively small but grew exponentially in size and scope over time.

In the year prior to the 2016 election, it started off with a relatively small group of people in the FBI, the CIA, the White House, and in the Clinton campaign.

But after the election, the Spygate conspiracy quickly picked up steam as many of the worst DC Swamp creatures in politics, in the Congress, in the federal bureaucracy, and in the press began offering whatever contributions they could make to best further the cause.

After January 2017, the number of people involved either directly or indirectly probably tripled or even quadrupled within the space of a few months.

At some point in early 2017, the Spygate cabal must have realized that the operation was becoming too big to coordinate effectively. It needed centralized direction and a paid staff to keep the conspiracy functioning efficiently.

That centralized direction had to be accomplished without interference from DOJ senior managers.

Coordinating the conspiracy also required gaining a charter, obtaining a source of funding, acquiring legal authority to pursue its operations, and the maintenance of strong personal and procedural connections to other government departments and organizations. The latter requirement was necessary to increase the size and scope of Deep State crowdsource participation.

So was born the Mueller Investigation and its large staff of government-paid DC Swamp lawyers — the perfect means for perpetrating the post-election phase of the Spygate operation without having to worry about interference or blow-back from the targets of the conspiracy.

It seems to me the Russia collusion justification for spying on Trump isn’t a cover story it is the diversion.
Instead of trying to prove the diversion is fake, which we know it is, we should just render the diversion as irrelevant.

Show the spying included a number of GOP candidates, maybe even some Dem candidates, then the conspiracy of political spying is fully exposed with no place to hide.

We need to force the investigation to go there. Chasing the Russia collusion trail is just what the guilty parties want us to do. It is a false trail contrived to exhaust the resources of those seeking justice. We need to strike at the crime they are really trying to hide.

Who was spied upon? We must demand the answer to this very simple question. The answer will be clearly shown in the records. There is no wiggle room for response and the answer exposes everything.

Bingo! CTH has hit the nail right on the head. After working within city and state government for the past 40 years, and interacting with state and federal agencies, I was completely flabbergasted by the sheer ignorance of so many public officials, even in law enforcement. Many times, they simply did not do their homework, or go the extra mile to understand the linkages between actual conditions and regulatory context. Many public employees go no further than the job demands, and definitely are more interested in protecting the system than keeping it in check for accountability, or in other words, allowing the light of sun(dance) shine to reveal the imperfections and crevices that are the true landscape of the problems. The only way you can maneuver around them is to understand their limitations and their “laziness” in this arena. Good job Sundance!

If Durham already has a few snitches already lined up (Clinesmith/Baker and/or Stzrok) then the chances of higher lever indictments go up significantly. The big fish (Comey/Brennan) will still take it to a jury as they will have nothing to lose at that point other than legal expenses, which the resistance will fund.

The good news is that these folks were brazen and sloppy, leaving much more than a few bread crumbs along the way. Key fact was the dossier was debunked early on. So what were they doing after that other than to inflict damage on POTUS and chase him for obstruction on an investigation that should never have started.

I have worked in many campaigns. When I talk to my friends on Capitol Hill, one of the things they ask me is, “How do I know all of this stuff?” I tell them that the internet is far ahead of the mainstream news if you know where to look. Unfortunately, they spend most of their days doing busy work. They do not have time to keep up. They are not as informed as most advanced Conservative Treehouse readers. This is true of the President as well.

We’d all love to believe that the president is aware of the intricate details of the Russia Hoax, or COVID, but he is not. He does not have the time. He relies on people to brief him, and those people are not as knowledgable as your advanced readers.

This is so true…while others do the busy work of say, running the country and stuff lol, its hard to see the forest for the trees. I am amazed at what I have learned by being here and other sites for years where I do believe we have a sense of the bigger picture with many of the connections developed by thorough, critical reading of what is now readily available online.

I just fixed lunch and didn’t realize I just condensed the last 8 years of the Information Operations via the left and tied them to events of the day…in about 10 minutes lol. I then help others by condensing and publishing in my own words what’s going on within today’s news. I can’t do it without the help of those here and elsewhere that know operations I do not outside my expertise. What I can do is write and publish to help get the word out in bite-size pieces that help folks understand and encourage their own research for confirmation. It’s really how we bring folks to the conservative world view, bc our world takes a lot of work for those that have bought into the lies of the left and their empty promises. Fortunately, I’ve never been blinded, though working through the lies even for me takes some effort.

I know people, including family who I love dearly, whose jobs allow them to listen to NPR all day, every day. They are, for the most part, good, caring people, whose minds have been totally warped by sustained anti-Trump propaganda. They are true believers that President Trump is the anti-Christ. They have crossed the line of redemption. There is nothing, literally nothing, that will change their minds.

To change a long held, and daily reinforcement viewpoint, there has to exist a hint of doubt. These people will “go down with ship” before they abandon their “orange man bad” beliefs.

They all know how I feel, and I suspect they would say the same about me.

How do we span this divide?

My biggest hope is that truth will be our salvation. But, what is truth?

How does one define universal truth?

When I was younger, there was only one source – the World Book Encyclopedia sitting on my family’s book shelf. We referred to it often. Today, with so many conflicting “truths” found on the internet, truth is what anyone wants it to be.

    My truth is your falsehood.

For my (our) truth to succeed will take a sustained, overwhelming legal and communication campaign similar to the massive allied effort from DDay forward, or Sherman’s unrelenting drive into the South.

My biggest fear is that this divide is not unlike that which tore families asunder during the Civil War – pitting brother against brother, son against father.

    Pro-slave vs. anti-slave.
    Pro-Trump vs. anti-Trump.

    The lines are drawn.

It took the loss of untold thousands of lives and the destruction on half the country to alter the thinking and “way of life” of the pro-slave South.

The comparisons, in my mind, are frightening.

With that said, with all my heart, I wish, I pray, for your mission’s success.

Thank you is not sufficient, but for now, it’s what I have.

In my humble experience, converting others takes time as we are often up against the onslaught of lies every day. However, when a lie is so big, such as the Russia hoax, and you can come up with an attractive elevator speech, you might enlist enough curiosity to get others to start asking questions. It may be one or two for every ten of the sheep, but per Sundance’s Starfish posts, that is all you need.

Almost everything that touches the Russia narrative was false…pick a sub-narrative like the Flynn case and know it inside and out. Have a quick elevator speech for that to break through long-held msm beliefs, and point to your sources. Maybe just point out those Russian troll-farms…when it was time for court, the company showed up! Mueller didn’t expect that! Keep doing the same, and then they will start doubting their sources….that is what has worked for me…just one or two, but are now hard core conservatives and helping others.

I find the comparison to Nazi Germany and Hitler more apropos. There were MANY who turned a blind eye to what was going on, believing that they would be better off playing nice and ignoring the slow creep of an Nazi dictatorship. I watched an old movie not long ago that portrayed this, This is my Land produced in 1943, staring Charles Laughton and Maureen O’Hara. Excellent speech at the end by Charles Laughton’s character. It was quite similar to what is happening today.

@Sundance, I totally love what you have been doing. Having said that, I do want to caution you on exposing what the DOJ/FBI may be doing – yes, sunshine is a good disinfectant, but sunshine also contains harmful UV light. Too much UV can kill. You know what I’m getting at: exposing the DOJ/FBI investigations will alert the criminals and allow them to build their defensive approach. Even if it doesn’t, the defense can always claim later that the the jury is biased because of adverse publicity. There is a reason why the DOJ/FBI has policies about not discussing/leaking ANYTHING about an investigation. Yes, the Obama administration totally violated those policies. But, if our goal is to punish the criminals, we MUST let the DOJ/FBI do their job – and trust them. It’s hard to do that given the FBI’s history, but it is the only thing.
We CAN win the 2020 election without ANY convictions here. Rasmussen now has PDJT’s approval at 51-47 – a very good indicator. We MUST mobilize to make that happen.

The group in February filed a Freedom of Information Act request demanding that the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) release information related to whether U.S. intelligence has been surveilling past and current U.S. senators and House members.

Specifically, the group asked ODNI whether the spy agencies it supervises unmasked the identities of current and past lawmakers known to have been caught up in foreign surveillance, and whether the names of these members were searched through what is known as the “upstream” phone database. The request covered a bipartisan group of 48 current and former lawmakers and their potential surveillance from Jan. 1, 2008 to Jan. 15, 2020.

As long as unlimited power is available will not unlimited corruption be right behind?

Reputedly JFK said he “wanted to splinter the C.I.A. in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.” We know his fate…

At risk of sounding cynical, if you sharpen Occam’s Razor even further, you could make the case that the primary “job” of congressmen in the year 2020 is essentially insider trading. That’s probably what they spend most of their time and attention on, since that’s how they make most of their money.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise that even the semi-conservative pols among them, some of whom are genuinely curious about how the Muh Russia scam went down, are woefully ignorant of 98% of what happened. It’s not that they’re stupid. It’s that their intelligence is otherwise preoccupied.
