Nancy Pelosi’s USMCA Strategy for 2020 is Contingent Upon the Canadian Election…

Earlier today Nancy Pelosi was questioned about why the House was not voting to pass the USMCA trade agreement.  Speaker Pelosi immediately fell back upon her talking point: “we are working toward yes.”   This is complete hogwash.  There are no discussions. Pelosi is doing what Pelosi does best, politicizing anything positive for the U.S. economy in a concerted effort to undermine Trump in 2020.

Here’s what is going on.

Nancy Pelosi and her far-left ideologues entered an agreement with their Canadian liberal allies and Justin Trudeau to stall the USMCA passage.

Trudeau’s government ideologues agreed not to call the USMCA up for a vote in the Canadian parliament.

Speaker Pelosi is waiting to see if Trudeau can win re-election.  If Canada re-elects Trudeau on October 21st, Pelosi will announce the labor provisions are not strong enough within the USMCA deal; discussions with the Trump administration are not resolving the issues; the U.S. workers are not protected enough, and she is tabling any vote.

Speaker Pelosi will then wait until after the 2020 election.  The purpose is political.

Ratification of the USMCA would be a boost for the U.S, and North American, economy.  More growth in the economy is politically adverse to her interests.  Part of the 2020 Democrat strategy is to stall the U.S. economy, stoke a recession narrative, and hopefully weaken President Trump’s re-election bid.  That’s the plan.

For Canada’s part of the scheme, Justin Trudeau -if successfully reelected- will announce that Canada is waiting for the U.S to work out the USMCA labor disagreements.  This is the quid-pro-quo between liberals in the democrat party and liberals in Canada.

However, if Trudeau loses the election then Pelosi loses her partner in the plan.  As a consequence Canadian ratification of the USMCA will be certain, and it will be outside the control of U.S. Democrats…

So, if Trudeau loses the election Nancy Pelosi will bring the USMCA to a vote timed with the impeachment vote.  This plan allows democrats to try and dilute the political nature of the impeachment scheme by referencing the Trump administration USMCA vote as an example of Democrats not being political.   This is how they scheme.

If it does not benefit Democrats, it simply is not done.

Yes, this is what Democrats spend 100% of their time doing… This is how they roll.  24/7/365 constant planning and political strategy sessions to best exploit and shape events to their narrative.  Here’s the talking points if Trudeau loses on Oct 21st:

…’See, we’re not politically motivated, we’re giving the same president we are impeaching a win; because this trade deal is in the best interest of America.  Just like the impeachment of this corrupt president is in the best interest of America’….

This is why it is so frustrating trying to communicate with and work with Republicans.

As a group they are the worlds worst strategists; most often, intentionally so.  The right side of the UniParty prefers to be the party in controlled-opposition because Wall Street pays them better for their votes, and their constituents are oblivious to the construct.

It’s a big club….

Not by much. 2 points! If Conservatives don’t win this time, then the leader of that party should step down. I’m soooo ticked off that Obummer tweeted. Otoh, I voted at the advance polls last week and the turnout was steady. Lineups outside the door of the voting station. That’s usually a good sign for Conservatives.

I’ve contributed twice to the party and the other day, I got a 2nd call to donate. I told the guy about my donating and he wouldn’t let it go – kept asking for another donation!! I told him absolutely not and then changed the topic to the leader. Told him “if the Conservatives lose this, they better pick another leader, One with a bit of charisma would certainly help!.And then I hung up. geeeez

Andrew’s problem is he doesn’t want to “rock the boat”. As such, he is seen by some as a Clark-Mulrooney-Campbell type Conservative. His left of centre vibe would fit well with the Uni-Party. The thing is, he is the strongest option against Trudeau. All parties and media are campaigning against him. Rather than show defiance, he’s dropping his head and plodding along.

Canada is the first Post-Nationalist state. Therefore, expect the Bloc to do well and I expect the People’s Party of Canada to start making inroads. They won’t get many votes now, but as usual Canadian finger pointing plays out, expect them to do well.

Trudeau is campaigning in Quebec slamming English Canada. We’ll see how that plays out.

The most accurate poll -Forum- of the last Canadian election says the Conservatives will win a minority or majority. Others have a toss up or liberal minority.
Since Trudeau paid off the media with a 500 million dollar gift it is hard to trust polls though.
And a problem in Canada is polls don’t really measure in regional differences well.

Hi friends – regional voting is the big kingmaker here. All comes down to Ontario. Conservative Premier Ford has been saddled with huge debt after 15 years of provincial Liberal rule. He is now making cuts ( adults in the room) and so people are feeling the pinch. Hard to know how they will vote. Really bad news if they cling again to Team Red. Possibly even worse if NDP or Greens or Bloc hold balance of power in a minority situation. Am hoping Scheer is able to pull off a quiet, serious campaign that resonates with enough voters to win a majority.

BUT Trump & Sundance have opened my eyes to how much Canada has been helping China & other Countries bypass the American Content Laws by assembling products here in Canada with off-shore parts & then enabling these foreign Countries to import their products into the United States illegally! This has cost the American Economy dearly & tragically entire industries & towns have disappeared, causing all kinds of problems (mainly drug-dependence) for the workers who lost their jobs, lively-hood etc.

I certainly would not want this to happen to my own Country, so why would I want to allow it to happen to you guys there in the United States!

He hates America and those who support him hate the IS equally. I never imagined that some of my “friends and family” actually supported the annihilation of the country I grew up in and love. I never even considered that they thought more of Russia than our Constitutional Republic (especially since I grew up when the Soviet Union was the existential threat, not some climate change fear that only some in the scientific acknowledge as a threat—all in the scientific realm acknowledge that climate changes over time since they know the definition of climate).
If the alleged Climate Change “believers” truly cared, they would quit flying, limit driving, cut their power use, and lead by example, not dictate what others should do. That, in and of itself, demonstrates that climate change is not an existential threat.
Nasty, for once think about the people you purport to represent. Your thirst for power has made you into the ogre you are. Rich Democrats have a very clear vision of the future. The dirty old industries must go to China, and other places far away. America is to become a big pristine theme park for movie stars and silicon valley tech billionaires.

The rich like Tom Steyer have made environmentalism their pet cause for very selfish reasons. The tax on gasoline must be much higher to get poor people (meaning the middle-class) to take mass transit. No more hatchbacks and pickups blocking the path for their limousines.

No more highly paid union jobs (notice the union leaders are now Democrats, the rank and file are Republicans). Just lots of poor black and brown people voting eternally Democrat, because they are dependent on government handouts. Call it neo-feudalism. Welfare justifies a country without upward mobility, and the loss of hope and ambition that follows.

Trump is hated by Democrats because the workers of America elected him. Trump explicitly said he envisions the Republican Party as the Workers Party. Why would the Democrat Leadership ever want to strengthen the vitality of the working class?

It seems like there is a crescendo happening where these Democrats and Republicans, the Uniparty, are feeling their oats and think they are ‘winning’ given yesterday’s House vote to gang up on the President’s decision to move troops out of Syria.

Is there any chance that Trudeau will lose in this election? I hear that the Canadian government owns the media so controls what information, what narrative, the citizens in Canada get to hear.

“Why aren’t Canadians hollering about former President Obama for interfering in Canadian elections?”

Canada is more liberal politically than conservative and Obama was and is popular. Its media also mirrors that of the U.S. in its political leanings so don’t expect the media to call it out. President Trump’s direct non-PC communication style and policies are the polar opposite of how liberal-minded Canadians think – he is generally disliked by many (but not all) Canadians.

Alberta is at the forefront, decimation of the oil industry there will be finalized under Trudeau. Maybe with Saskatchewan. Manitoba and under the right circumstances British Columbia.

There have been times, on and off for years when things go downhill, that separation has been floated. In the late 60’s early 70’s a group called the Western Canada Concept tried to get it started. It never had the strength that it does now.

Now I have not heard so much talk about separation, a referendum, a vote, constitution for a republic, committee’s, meetings, rally’s as there is now. Trudeau is pandering to Ontario and mostly to Quebec for votes, he is absolutely desperate for votes. Any means necessary. He’ll flush the west.

Canada is a mess. it’s economy is a shambles, the energy sector is in the toilet, manufacturing is a dirty word, it has no competent leadership in any current level of government. Ship of fools. They are a bunch of crooked, corrupt, self absorbed, narcissistic, incompetent, liars. Government’s only thought is like one big gay parade, stoned on weed.

My feeling is, that when indictments are ready, everyone involved in any of the Obama coup, will be arrested at the same time. It separates them from each other and their support network. It will also serve to decimate the left side of the aisle in the House, taking all power from Pelosi and putting the democrats on the defensive. It’ll probably be set to put maximum exposure and damage on the democrats leading into the election. Just a guess, but it seems a likely scenario to me.

Pelosi cannot win on USMCA and PDJT cannot lose, whether or not the premises of this post are correct. Here is why.

USMCA is a trilateral trade Pact requiring simple majority approval by both Houses of Congress. We know AMLO wants it, has passed it, and has made a public request to Pelosi. Suppose she balks for whatever reason—politics, Trudeau, whatever.

Then PDJT simply strips out the Canadian stuff (fitting if Trudeau and Pelosi are complicit as Sundance speculates here), gets AMLO to make a bilateral trade request to PDJT on the rest, and PDJT puts an up to ten year deal in place immediately using 19USC§2902. His signature only, no congressional say.

PDJT can circle back to full USMCA after the 2020 election recaptures the House and Pelosi is no longer speaker.

This is the same quick bilateral approach he will take with UK and BoJo after Brexit.
It is also why he has said he will just sign the China phase one bilateral trade deal with Xi in Chile. He can bring a China deal with all phases complete and papered for a Congressional vote after 2020–when and if completed.

Yes, I and my family are doing our best to vote him out, and I’m voting Conservative. I would actually like to vote for the new Peoples Party (right of Conservative party), but can’t for two reasons. First, Bernier (party leader) left classified docs at his girlfriend’s place when a cabinet minister, and resigned because of that. Two of said past girlfriend’s past men were either Hell’s Angels, or had strong affiliations. Biker gangs are tough stuff in Quebec, along with mafia. The Liberals are intensely opposed to the oil and gas industry. Trudeau has said he envisions Canada as a post-industrial country. He actually wants the steel and auto industry to leave Canada. This is a primary reason he is indifferent to the USMCA.
Like rich leftists in America, he wants Canada to be a largely a service-driven economy. The madness of his ideas is hidden from most Canadians by a profoundly dishonest and obsequious news media.

Trudeau is Canada’s equivalent of Ocasio-Cortez: an attractive doofus who gets his ideas from an unscrupulous, ideologically-manic handler. AOC had Chakrabarti, Trudeau had (has?) Gerald Butts. Butts was previously the guiding hand at the Ontario Liberal Party. They cancelled a gas-driven power plant near Toronto, at a cost of roughly a $billion, to win one seat in Ontario’s Legislature.

And yet, the fools in this city will likely return the Liberal incumbent to office.

Yes, as soon as the writ was dropped, Butts began running the Prime Idiot’s campaign. Butts should be banished from this country for the destruction he has brought us federally, and in Ontario.

Maxim Bernier has more backbone and basically told them to shove it. Tells you a lot about these two men.

Trudeau just got the kiss of defeat with the recent endorsement of has-been BarackObama. Speaker Nanzi will have to go with Plan B. Impeachment or not the Democrats will lose BIG TIME in 2020. The drubbing will just be worse if they impeach Trump for no good reason. Many Americans may have a short attention span but a majority are not stupid.

I am Canadian and totally oppose Trudeau as do my entire family and some friends. As well, I am a Trump fan and cried tears of joy when he was elected in 2016. I will cry if our joke of a Prime Minister gets in again. Although our lefty media machine is against Trump and anything conservative, please know that there is a silent and growing number of Canadians who oppose Trudeau and his merry band of Liberal thieves.

Is it actually true? My understanding is that the conservatives in Canada are a bunch of weasels, worse than RINOs, And I find it hard to believe they won’t do a deal with Pelosi.

Nice try. Canadian Conservatives are nowhere near being RINOs. They are small government, fiscally responsible, small tax and pro job. They don’t like what Canadian unions have become, and are pro oil and gas. They are the furthest thing from RINOs you can get. True Conservatives stand behind their leader. They don’t oppose him from the shadows.

We have a first past the post system, electing an individual member of parliament for each riding, and we don’t vote for our Prime Minister like you vote for the President directly. Our PM is the leader of the party that had the most members elected. And was elected in his/her own riding.

Popular vote means nothing in Canada. One leader can win popular vote, but not enough seats to carry the day and form government. This could happen in close elections like this. Conservatives higher in polls overall, but parties have very regional support, which is further affected by population distribution. For example, I bet nearly 100% of seats in Alberta will be Conservative, however Ontario and Quebec have the bulk of the country’s population, and the Liberals are more popular in this region. The GTA (greater Toronto area) has a population larger than the whole province of BC, for example. Alberta’s poulation is even smaller than BC’s.

everything Trump did in the beginning was with executive order because nobody would work with him. He was getting stuff done, alone, can he not use executive order now that R dont have control of the house? It would be great to see a comparison of when he was just doing stuff, to now that Dems keep voting everything down.

You make good points. He can nibble around the edges. He was able to undo Executive Orders of Obama, which is scary, because Democrats can do the same thing in 5 or 9 years.

It gets complicated. Some trade deals or pacts he can do directly.

May I ask where you are from. Germany perhaps?

Deborah, PDJT has four basic sets of tools (with lots of nuances missing in the following comment).
      1. Legislative Persuation. Here, he has scored some wins despite Congress. VA Choice and Tax Reform are examples. And some losses, like immigration reform. Much more difficult since Dems took control of the House. As USMCA presently shows.
      2. Regulatory, since the executive branch he heads ‘manages’ all executive regulatory authority created by Congressional legislation. Rollback of CPP and WOTUS, 2 old regs cut for every new reg are all good examples. The main hindrance here is Lawfare obstruction in liberal federal courts. A stupid loss was the Census citizenship question, in my opinion (deliberately?) misargued by DoJ since the APA46 NY relied upon never applied in the first place per the Census Law of 1976. Previously explained here.
      3. Executive orders. EO’s are pursuant to some executive authority previously granted legislatively by Congress. The selected country travel ban is an example contested by Lawfare and won at SCOTUS. The Emergency Declaration on the southern border that Congress has twice tried and failed to overturn, that a federal judge just ruled unlawful, is the current example.
      4. His inherent A2 powers to conduct foreign policy and as commander in chief. The current example of both working together is todays huge win on the Syria Kurds v Turkey problem. As yesterdays House vote and today’s Mittens speech show, Congress critters may not like it but they are powerless to do anything except whine and ‘investigate’ matters where they have no legislative oversight authority under A1§8.

It is complicated. Hope this simple tutorial helps. Regards.

Part of the 2020 Democrat strategy is to stall the U.S. economy, stoke a recession narrative, and hopefully weaken President Trump’s re-election bid. That’s the plan.

Yes, our election is almost upon us. Here in Victoria the slate of candidates is so pathetic I only wish there was a box entitled, “none of the above.” I have been paying very little attention to the campaigns but I suppose I will vote for one of these nonentities. We have, in decreasing order of socialist degeneracy, the Greens, The New Democrat Party, Liberals, and misnamed Conservatives. There are a few inches of difference between Conservatives and the rest, so I’ll likely check that box. (I almost forgot about the Populist Party of Canada, and I have no idea who they are except they are vaguely nativist.) The odd thing about Canadians is that they are mostly conservative if you get into an informal conversation- not in the political sense, but socially and culturally. But our media is even worse than yours. Its banality is stunning and depressing. I can’t watch it. So we elect fools, like BC’s current premier (NDP) who is doing his best to punish anyone who wants to invest money here. We have a mayor who declined to pledge allegiance to the queen when she took the oath of office, and who had a statue of Canada’s first prime minister removed from city hall. Nevertheless, Canadians are generally hard working and conscientious, and so our unemployment rate is quite low. In fact the country runs fairly well despite the incompetence of our leaders. Streets are clean, neighbourhoods well kept. I can only hope that enough Canadians notice what an idiot Trudeau is and take a right turn, not a left.
