The Media Protecting Ilhan Omar’s Obviously False Presentation of Family is a Gift To President Trump…

The 2019 U.S. media are akin to the Monty Python “killer rabbit” skit, as every broadcast and print publication runs away from anything that might be adverse to their political interests.  Oh noes, run away… run away…  Yes, at this point it really is comical.

An armed Antifa terrorist can attempt to use home-made bombs to attack an ICE detention center, get killed in the process, and leave behind a manifesto that actually quotes Democrat Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as his motive to stop the “concentration camps”, and the media flee from coverage…. “run away“.  Meanwhile the world comes to an end over a Trump tweet with apoplectic wall-to-wall coverage.

The entire landscape of 2019 media is a skit beyond mocking; thus the transparently false story behind the life of Hamasketeer #2, lhan Omar, is yet another visible part of this ridiculous pantomime.  It is obvious the story of Omar’s husbro marriage was intended to manipulate the refugee visa program to the benefit of her brother. However, now it surfaces that Omar isn’t even a member of the refugee family she used to escape Somalia:

Steinberg Research Article Here

…’I am legally married to one and culturally to another’… (link)

Representative Ilhan Omar’s visa manipulation by faux-marriage is a process similar to the visa-fraud process used in the San Bernadino terror case involving Syed/Tashfeen Malik, and faux-marriage Tatiana Farook.  [Same with Orlando Pulse nightclub terror case involving Omar Mateen and Noor Salman.]

The longer the mainstream media tries to run away from the obvious truth behind the Ilhan Omar refugee/visa scam, the more ridiculous they look doing so.

The UK Daily Mail has already outlined the fraud [SEE HERE], the Star Tribune has already outlined the fraud [SEE HERE], and a host of other research, including documents to evidence the fraud has been brought to light; just like the Powerline Article.

At this point, the media’s refusal to admit Ilhan Omar lied to escape Somalia; and then lied again -via marriage-  to get an entry visa for her brother, while being married to another man, just makes the media look even more political and more manipulative.

The end result, this helps frame the truthfulness behind the term “Fake News”.

Here’s what’s on my mind now. There are some otherwise intelligent people out there who are too busy or just lack the desire to do deeper research. They take what Dem propaganda media gives them. Their thoughts are shaped for them. They think Omar is this sweet little Muslim refugee who’s been wronged by the President and us, the mob (thanks for that one, Comey). THESE PEOPLE VOTE.

Unless you have a major newspaper or a TV channel, there’s little you can do. But Trump can do much. He’s got a direct line of communication to the people way more than Barry ever did. I think he would be wise to adjust his tweets a little bit. Lay off of the insults and just present the facts. He does that most of the time but whenever he tweets an insult (like “go back”) the Dems latch on to that and ignore everything else. The Dems are really good at manufacturing outrage to obscure the things they don’t want people to see. Trump should make the adjustment to prevent the Dems from having anything to latch on to. With pure facts and no insults he can enlighten people and make them think and the Dems won’t be able to respond. He can cause people to experience the kind of revelation many of us have had, that the Dems and their complicit media are LYING to us for their own gain. Those of us who have walked away know, you never go back.

Pure facts are to the media like the house on the quiet neighborhood street that didn’t burn down.
      No story.
However, if you add an insult, the media will fall for the trap of being able to point out only the insult and bring attention to the pure fact but people will wonder what brought on the insult.
Since we are Pythoning, it’s like the Travel Agency sketch where the receptionist asks the customer, “Would you like to come upstairs…. or are you here for a holiday?… I’m here for a holiday.. but what’s this about coming upstairs?” She says, “Oh, nothing, nothing.”

That receptionist was Carol Cleveland. And in the Live at the Hollywood Bowl performance of that sketch, she asked the customer if he’d like …well, something more than “going upstairs”. Which brings us, somehow, to the Clintons.

I often also wish Trump would lay off the insults, but I have come to realize their importance. If Trump just presented the facts with no insults to draw the media’s ire, they would simply ignore him. No uproar on Twitter, no corresponding coverage of the issue in the MSM and .no Democrat politicians publicly coming to the defense of these idiots. He needs those things to happen in order to bring the issue to the attention of people who only watch MSM and to force Dem politicians into ridiculous positions. I think the cost benefit analysis will end up that the flack he takes for the insults is outweighed by the support he gains from exposing the corrupt, idiotic MSM and politicians.

Meanwhile, they accuse Trump of racism and Russian collusion. Sensible voters are not going to believe racism and collusion , but the hate of the Democrats toward the country they live in, that will stick.

Does Trump actually tweet or does he dictate a tweet to a staff member? When Trump tweets he carries a big stick so taking an extra 5 to 10 minutes to hone a tweet is worth it. As you point out, it is quite important. He could be more surgical–use a scalpel vice a machete. Sarcastic hyperbole is quite effective in making a point without the personal aspect of the insult. Jesus often employed this tactic–“strain a gnat but swallow a camel” or “hard to get the splinter out of your neighbor’s eye when you have a log in your own eye” type of thing.
Of course, they later crucified Him so there’s that.

They would not ignore him. He can still make powerful statements, just don’t include material that the Democrats can use to justify their outrage. In the case of Omar it’s totally appropriate to point out that she cheated on her taxes, and that if she hates the US so much she’s free to return to her home country. That message would have come across loud and clear and some people who were asleep at the wheel might have thought “Cheated on her taxes? What’s that about? Let me check that out” and one single search would have pulled up easy-to-read info. But instead he used a classic insult which caused some people to be offended, and why would they pursue further info if they were offended and thought Trump was being a bully?

We want people to be better informed, right? Because the better informed they are the less easily they can be manipulated or snowed and the better they can make decisions, including who to vote for. Trump is in the perfect position to have a positive effect in this regard! And it will benefit him and the rest of us who support him.

If PRESIDENT TRUMP does not make a statement that is either “offensive” or absurd, the media simply ignores it! We know they do because WE hear him speak or see his posts of the GOOD that is happening and WHERE have you seen that in the libermedia? We had a mechanic that kept closing car doors and locking the keys in and we had to get a locksmith to unlock. I told him when he brought a car into the shop to roll the window down. He asked why and I told him “then you can reach inside, get the keys, and then unlock the door”! He said “that’s stupid, if the window is down I can just unlock it”! I had to resort to speaking DUMBASS to get him to understand – same as what PRESIDENT TRUMP has to do to speak to the libermedia and dems!

I disagree with the advice for President Trump to adjust his tweets. What caused the recent increase of attention on Omar’s past duplicity? President Trump’s tweets. Without these recent tweets, she would not be getting the spotlight which has allowed the investigative journalists (yes, Virginia, there are still a few out there) to get their story some traction.

But there are people who are fence-sitters and to ignore them is to risk losing the election. In 2016 Hillary was so obviously corrupt it wasn’t hard for those fence-sitters to take a chance on Trump. Even he said “What do you have to lose?” But this year is different. We can laugh at all of their candidates because we are devoted Trump supporters. But the fence-sitters aren’t laughing. The fence-sitters see some of those Democrats as viable. The fence-sitters might decide to vote for the one who wins the nomination. Every time Trump hurls an insult the fence-sitters are driven away.

The with all of the power that the MSM has to try and sway public opinion, they FAILED miserably, dare I say, stunningly in 2016. Have they changed at all? I don’t see it. Is this crop of Democratic contenders any better than HRC was? Show me. Just one.

2020 will be different indeed. President Trump has done amazing things steering the country out of the doldrums of 8 miserable years of an Obama administration by taking the chains off regulations, and unleashing a tiger of optimism that defines us as Americans. Do you realize how powerful that is?

In every election there will be fence-sitters………people who won’t dare admit they would vote for DJT because the left wants to paint everyone who supports him as a racist because now you’re afraid to be called something you’re not (and they will have succeeded in shutting you up). See how successful that strategy can be? Only if you let it. This is no different than in 2016 when “everyone” was saying that Hillary was going to win. It’s called gas lighting. They want to demoralize you into thinking it’s a lost cause. Don’t buy into that. The first thing to do is stop watching cable news. It’s like the movie the Matrix. Once you see what’s been going on that you’ve been blind to, you cannot un-see anymore.

President Trump has a unique ability to point people (with his tweets) to do a little of their own digging. EVERYONE now is looking into the backgrounds of “the squad” as well as others. Would they have done that before? I don’t think so. He looks at Speaker Pelosi, like these are the people in your party that you want to support? Okay – we get it now. Now we know what the opposition is.

I can tell you, I live in So. CA in as far left a community as you can get. I could care less what friends and neighbors think. I may not walk around with a Make America Great Again hat on, but when I get into that voting booth, I’ll be pulling for Trump. It’s what happened in 2016 and there will be more of it in 2020.

The left is terrified of him. And they should be. He’s got all of the “basket of depolorables” behind him as well as a lot of new supporters that he didn’t have in 2016.. Some you may not outright see, but we’re here and we’re not voting for anyone else.

I can’t know whether all the drama will elevate Trump in the polls, but I do know that the rampant unprosecuted criminality in the USA is a harming the republic. We see Omar, a member of Congress, thumbing her nose at America with impunity. How does that play? You tell me.

“…I do know that the rampant unprosecuted criminality in the USA is a harming the republic.”

Yes, it is, and it is clear that the absence of exposing and punishing crimes is doing fundamental, lasting harm to our country. Without an aggressive, fair, and law-abiding investigative entity (FBI) working in righteous harmony with an impartial, judicial entity (DOJ), no acceptable outcome can be expected by any reasonable observers.

The “Hamasketeers” (well done, SD!) are the latest in the series of “in-your-face” Dems who ignore and abuse all standards of responsible behavior, covering the full range from acceptable personal comportment to outright criminality, IMO, they do it simply because they can, knowing the resistance has their back and deep state operatives encourage them.

It will be up to the tabloidesque, second tier of the msm (Daily Mal, Star Tribune, Powerline, etc., as noted by SD) to sufficiently proliferate the story of Omar to force the major print and viewing media outlets to cover the story. That process may have started, with the help of the President’s tweets and rally comments, and become like toothpaste out of the tube.

Multiple law enforcement entities (IRS, DHS, INS, DOT, etc.) are smeared by Omar’s slime, and have to either wear it with shame or remove it from themselves with appropriate actions initiated against her. I think the combination of her political status and support from the resistance will spare her any discomfort.

The enemy has been “inside the walls” of our nation for many years, and it appears the President’s election was the catalyst that induced their decision that now is the time to initiate active, political warfare in pursuit of their publicly stated goals of displacing and replacing foundational elements of our Republic. To me, that was made abundantly clear when all the Dem debate participants raised their hands in support of providing medical care and education benefits to illegal aliens. They literally, defiantly, and proudly outed themselves on the national stage.

Without administrators who have his back and a strong sense of loyalty to the nation, the President can do no more than tweet and rant about Omar. Given the depth and breadth of the power and influence of the deep state, demonstrated multiple times in the past two years, I doubt that Omar will be punished, not even via electoral defeat since the majority of her district is populated by those of her ilk.

Uprisings by invading immigrant populations are occurring around the world, and entire countries are at serious risk of losing their national identities. We, though not yet so acutely and broadly threatened, are among them.

What all of these pious pearl-clutchers fail to understand is that PRESIDENT Trump’s tweets have brilliantly created the spectacle that has brought the anti-American Fraud who calls herself “Ilhan Omar” into the glare of the spotlights even more than she was after her vile words about the President. IMO, PDJT’s strategy is excellent!

I say let President Trump determine what he’s going to tweet. Not a single one of anyone here in the comments section (or anywhere else on the web or TV where pious pearl clutching is being expressed about POTUS’ tweets) was responsible for designing his winning campaign tweet strategy in 2015-2016, or are responsible for his successful bypassing the eneMedia and getting the hard truth straight to the People on a daily basis.

So if anyone thinks they’re representing a winning strategy by suggesting this President tone down the existing and actually MILD** rhetoric of his tweets, I say they’re engaged in misguided Pearl-Clutching and are maybe far too obsessed with their own self-importance.

**PRESIDENT Trump’s tweets have NEVER EVER so much as approached the level of vile, hateful ad hominem that is constantly posted by Democrat’s on their and others’ Twitter accounts and that comes out of their own mouths in front of media cameras and microphones.

Trump can make his points very strongly without the personal insults. Telling Omar or, worse, people who were born in the U.S. to “go back” to their home countries is insulting. We laugh at it, but a lot of people (who vote!) do not.

Hillary was a poor candidate and Trump barely squeaked out a win. It looked like a landslide, right? Look at the battleground states, he barely won them. I actually think it’s going to be even more difficult for Trump to win in 2020, he has to gain some supporters and not lose any.

I refuse to play along with this con game that POTUS must now alter his tweets to suit the snowflake mentality of the stupid people who believe the lyin’ MSM.

It is the democrat game that played this country for years. You can not say anything, and I mean anything about gays, women, minorities, etc. If you say anything you are racist. Everything can be said about a white male and it is considered the truth. It is either a free country or it is not. The thing you can not legally say about people are slanderous lies. President Trump says the truth, the democrats and the media say lies. Most of what they are upset about is President Trump saying the truth, that is why they call him racist. More and more conservatives are speaking the truth so we are also called racist.

The democrat game is backfiring on them. It is laughable to watch democrat presidential primary runners need to confess to the world the history of their ancestors centuries ago. Maybe we need a family tree on each of them that goes back to biblical times.

You nailed it, Abigail. Trump learned from G.W. Bush’s mistake of not fighting back every time they lie about you. He refuses to let the MSM lies go unchallenged because he knows that silence is construed as assent and that the Democrat press armies will destroy you if you don’t fight them ruthlessly.

Watching the last two presidential campaigns in the U.S. has made me wish we had the Singaporean libel laws. Over there, you can still make any accusation you like about a politician. However, if it is libelous, you will undoubtedly be sued and forced to back up your allegation in court. Truth is still a defense to libel, but if you can’t prove the truth of your allegation, you will lose the case and be fined heavily. It took having a few opposition politicians being bankrupted before they learned that you can’t lie during campaigns, but they eventually learned. Now, their political campaigns are much more fact-based and candidates are much more circumspect about the charges they make against their opponents.

We could use that. Harry Reid’s blatant lies about Romney’s failure to pay taxes, followed by his smarmy justification of, “Well, it worked, didn’t it? He didn’t get elected.” made me think that in a just world Dingy Harry would have been horsewhipped until he was bloody, followed by a prolonged dunking in a pool of very salty water. Politics is a dirty business, and politicians are generally a pretty slimy lot. Anything that would force them to be more honest in their accusations against opponents could not help but make American politics cleaner, and that couldn’t be anything but good for the country.

I have to wonder why so many of you seem to be so myopic. It’s not about YOU. It’s about Trump winning in November 2020. If he loses we are screwed. Totally screwed. Why is it that you seem more concerned with your own enjoyment of Trump not not concerned that he might lose the next election? He did not win by much in 2016 and Hillary was a very poor candidate because she was so obviously corrupt. Biden and Warren and maybe even Harris could possibly win. Don’t you fear that?

He can be strong and tough without using insults that allow the Democrats to manufacture outrage. Just use facts, there are plenty available. Omar cheated on her taxes, she filed at least one joint income tax return with a guy she was not married to. There are other facts people should know about her. But as soon as he wrote “go back” he lost half the audience and he gave the Democrats a great opportunity to make their outrage the number 1 story for four plus days AND they held an impeachment vote! I keep referring to this as one of Trump’s unforced errors. He needs to stop shooting himself in the foot. He might make himself lose in 2020, it would be a disaster.

I think some of you want to believe that Trump’s got it all together. Well hate to break it to you but he’s only human and sometimes he makes mistakes. He blew 2+ years and created massive difficulties for himself and perhaps even lost the House majority because he appointed Jeff Sessions as the AG. That was his biggest mistake yet. He’s made plenty of smaller ones too. You really need to look at the situation objectively. If you want Trump to win then he needs to get votes and that means he needs to appeal to enough people to elect him.

The “let Trump be Trump” was fine for 2016 but not fine now. It’s a whole different ball game now. It’s his election to lose. If he were more widely appealing it would be the easiest win. The economy is booming and the Democrats are a mess. And yet he keeps causing problems for himself. If he loses in 2020 it will be his own fault.

I would love to work on Trump’s campaign, but I don’t think I would bring anything new in this respect. I’m confident that the people on his team are already telling him exactly what I’m saying. It’s not rocket science. They had the numbers, they know Trump did not win in 2016 by very much. He squeaked out wins in the battleground states. I wrote yesterday in one, I think it was PA, he won with 47.5% and Hillary had 47.3%. When you have barely won it’s a good idea to draw more voters to you and not push any away. His team is well aware. And they are well aware that Hillary was actually an easy candidate because so many Democrats disliked her. The crop of candidates for 2020 don’t have that problem, and there are unaffiliated people who can easily switch over. They might have voted for Trump in 2016 because they hated Hillary, but in 2020 they might think Biden or Warren or Harris is better than Trump. We don’t want to lose these people. We cannot lose anyone.

Then since that win he has beaten repeated attempts to illegitimately chase him from the Presidency by “the Fray”, which consists of criminal elements within the FBI, DOJ, the Deep State, that same MSM industry, Lawfare, the ENTIRE DemoncRAT Party, three-fourths of the RepubliCON Party, and the Globalist Cabal which now includes Communist, and Radical Islamist powers in Europe, Canada, China, the Middle East, and many other parts of the world.

it all falls back to income levels/ trust fund $$/ degrees.

The ones that are above the cut off point retain better
public schools. Their stores are thriving, while everyone
one else’s are dwindling. When they go shopping nearby,
they are surrounded by well dressed individuals. Affluent
whites are in the majority. This also applies to educated,
predominantly black areas. Come to Dekalb County, and

In point of fact Jefferson DID study Islam because he wanted to see if there was any way it could be assimilated into America.
He stated that no, it could not. Islam is a religion that is inextricably tied up with authoritarian government and imposed conversion to their religion and also egregious discrimination against those who will not convert who they cite as infidels and classify as less than beasts of burden.

It also would make it impossible for women to ever be equal citizens and also would annihilate homosexuals (even though their leaders are positively rife with closeted gays and sodomists who terrorize men, young boys and young girls).

Islam proved who it was several times in history. America’s rejection of authoritarian government, initially focused against Great Britain, includes pagan ritualists and psychopathic cults like Islam.

The marriage is obviously a scam. However, there is no evidence presented in the Powerline blog or any other article that Omar or her family lied (when she was 12) to get into America, and that alleged lie is the basis for the claim that her ex-husband is her brother. The only source provided by Powerline is “according to members of the Somali community” — no names of sources provided. Unnamed sources are what we call Fake News.

Scott Johnson at Powerline has documented her fraud lance with the marriage certificates, names and dates. The evidence is beyond unnamed sources in the Somalia community.

Of course, the Scott Johnson reporting doesn’t meet the legal standard of an indictment; but it goes well beyond what you describe. There is substantial reason to believe she committed fraud in her applications for citizenship.

An investigation by authorities who have the legal powers of subpoena, discovery and grand jury hearings should be appointed.

“Twelve-year-old Ilhan had no say on the manner in which she arrived in the United States.

However, U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (D-MN) is now under scrutiny for acts she took beginning in 2009 — not 1995. In 2009, Omar was a 26-year-old U.S. citizen. She had been a U.S. citizen for nearly nine years.

Additionally, the foreign national Omar apparently helped commit fraud was not fleeing hell in 2009, either. Ahmed Nur Said Elmi was a long-time citizen of the United Kingdom. He even possessed a high school diploma from the United States: Elmi attended a St. Paul, Minnesota high school for his senior year of 2002-2003, and graduated before returning to London.

We look to 1995 not to incriminate a kid, but to answer questions about what Omar did 14 years later as an adult U.S. citizen.”

It is and isn’t her ‘real name’.
Her real name is Ilhan (daughter of) Nur Said (son of) Elmi. Her father is Nur Said (son of) Elmi (son of) Mohammed. That is how Somali names usually work. They do not have actual surnames or last names other than this rather old fashioned convention.

When she came to the US her name was changed as if she was adopted by a man named Abdullahi Omar, so she became Ilhan (adopted daughter of) Abdullahi (son of) Omar.
By the name of that family, they seem unrelated.

Her father became Nur Said (adopted brother of ) X Omar or Nur Said (adopted son of) Omar X. Her sister (later?) got a new last name (perhaps a real last name this time, at first she would also have been ‘adopted’.
The rest of the family lived in the UK, as X (son/daughter of) Nur Said (son of) Elmi.

      Confused?

President Donald J. Trump has a well developed sixth sense of how to hoist the mainstream media on its own petard. His tweet(s) about the Jihad Squad were meant to poke a stick in the hornets nest and set the village idiots running for their pitchforks and torches.

The DemonizinRats very rarely turn on their own. That is their flaw to attempt to disguise. President Donald J. Trump is encouraging the Jihad Squad to become more brazen and to paint Pelosi and her DemonizingRats into defending them. All the while, President Donald J. Trump is driving a wedge into the heartwood of socialist pandering and over promising.

The base can readily and willingly accept that “they went too far” in their chanting. The “swing voters” are being challenged with the choice between the Trump Miracle and the Jihad Squad and the notion that everything can be free with no associated costs whatsoever.

Eventually, 2020 will come down to a food fight between President Donald J. Trump and some glib DemonizingRat bomb thrower. The difference between 2016 and 2020 is that President Donald J. Trump is now well known and has a sea change of success to bring to the “debate.” All the DemonizingRats have is their basket of deplorable memes about President Donald J. Trump being a really, really dirty birdie who is all stinky poo.

HE was hoisted this time. He hoisted himself with the unnecessary “go back” insult. That one phrase allowed the Democrats to totally seize the narrative and manufacture outrage. THEIR narrative has been the #1 story for days now. It gave he four Reps the stage. The House held an impeachment vote even! Big mistake. Not fatal, but big. It’s a good thing we’re not just a few weeks from the election because this might have lost it for him.

Did you misunderstand? President Donald J. Trump trapped the mainstream media and forced the hand of the mainstream media. There was no “go back insult.” ZERO. The mainstream media has floated that meme. What President Donald J. Trump actually said was that they should go back to their former countries and fix them and then come back and show the US how to do it. Translation: Pissing on the US talk is cheap.

President Donald J. Trump told the Jihad Squad to quit their bitching and put up or shut up. The entire “go back” trope was stated positively.

PDT didn’t ask his crowd not to chant; he said he didn’t like that particular chant. Why? Because he chooses his words carefully, and he said the squad is FREE to leave if it doesn’t love America. FREEDOM is everything here. That’s the key difference — FREE to chant (even if he doesn’t like the chant) and anyone is FREE to leave, if they don’t love our country.

He won’t endorse “send her back” because she’s a citizen; just like he will stand up for citizens right to peacefully chant, even if he disagrees with the content.

“Send her back” may be short hand for what the President himself was saying. I’m a Patriot, and frankly the squad makes my blood boil. But they’re citizens, and as a country we don’t “send” them anywhere. That’s the difference. Now, if the chant were “America, love it or leave it” I bet the President would’ve said “love it!”

This is not just concern trolling … FREEDOM is the whole key, and to stay on the correct side, we have to stay laser focused on that.

NOW: in this case, Ilhan Omar seems very likely to have defrauded our immigration system, as a citizen and possibly even to gain citizenship in the first place. That’s really probably why some folks chanted “send her back.” Because deportation may well be the legal remedy. But it wasn’t the immediate context; again, I believe the President is walking a careful line here. It’s very important not to stand for the message of “sending back” citizens for speech, politics, or beliefs. If/when the immediate context is criminality that can result in deportation, that is a SEPARATE matter.

Anyways, MAGA patriots are holding the torch! We just need to tweak the chant. I think “love it or leave it!” works. I think something even more positive would be powerful, but perhaps not as punchy (“Patriots fight for all our rights!” too stupid? not my wheelhouse….). The key is: being a citizen means being FREE. All of US. Even the communists. If we imply they’re less free (less entitled to be here for their beliefs or naturalized citizen status), they win.

It is so bizarre watching everyone pretend Donald Trump said something racist about Ilhan Omar and the rest of the “squad“.

He didn’t identify anybody by name, and he criticized people who hate America. Not for the color of their skin, or their gender, but for their ideas.

And everyone pretends he went on some racist rant against “women of color”.

Very Bizzarre. Good on Donald Trump for not backing down, and doubling down on his initial assessment: if you don’t love the United States, you’re free to leave anytime you want

I’m not convinced that he has many more supporters now than he did in 2016. I’m interested in him gaining supporters and not losing any existing ones. If it makes you feel better to write a snarky comment about me, fine, nobody cares (including me). But you ought to be focusing on November 2020 rather than insulting fellow Trump supporters. Let me stipulate: I think it was genius, as “performance art”/narrative control. I loved it. But in this particular case if we just say “democrats/MSM fakery!” we’re skating past some of PDT’s epic skills. This is also one where it helps to get the point/message precisely.

Part of why PDT’s original tweek was genius is that it *did* in fact play into an old worn out leftist example of subtle “racism” (or rather, skated precisely up to the line): The idea that if you’re a hyphenated American (in this case, “African-” “Latin-” “Palestinian-” “Somali-“) you are less than a “full” or “real” American citizen, because you’re “real” home is elsewhere. Yes, the “squad’s” ideas and comments are toxic and horrific; but ….. there’s a subtle distinction between “love it or leave it” (which Trump originally did NOT say, that was his clarification) and ” … why don’t they go back…to the places they came from ….”

I’m not busting his hump. It’s genius, and very much on purpose. Notice: he said “places” they came from, not “countries.” And he didn’t say we should “send” them back, he merely suggested they could do some good by doing so. He’s a master wordsmith. (Also why he couldn’t endorse the rally chant “SEND her back …” that chant isn’t walking the line as precisely as he wants to.) He’s not saying let’s send them back … he’s saying, gee, if they know so much, why don’t they go “home” to their communities and do some good, put their great ideas into action, and come tell us how it goes.

Point being, yes, it’s performance outrage — but it sells short our President’s master trolling skills to miss some of the nuance. Because Trump is obviously trolling, and he knows the lines, and drives his message right to the brink. Skating so close, knowing they’ll lose they you-know-what, and, on CUE, 3, 2, 1 …. FREAK OUT. They’re so predictable. And he can calmly clarify, battle lines right where he wants them. He truly is fun to watch.

Hardly a big point in the grand scheme of things … but … at a Christian wedding, the clergyman does not marry the couple wedding. The wedding couple marry themselves. That is the point of their reciting the Wedding Vows. The clergyman officiates at the wedding/marriage, invokes the blessing of God upon the marriage, and, with others present, witnesses the marriage in order to prove to the Christian community that it occurred inside that community and with God’s blessing. Several very important elements are present in this procedure, but a clergyman/minister marrying the wedding couple is not one of them.
