A Deep State Motive Behind Conspicuous Releases?…

A key point to finding truth in any theory is to apply the scientific method to the research; ie. question the assumption, reverse the hypothesis.

Throughout the research into the Machiavellian constructs of “Spygate” and the subsequent Mueller investigation, there have always been larger questions behind the stories.  It is a fact that most of the evidence surfaced after General Michael Flynn entered a plea agreement with special counsel Mueller on November 30th, 2017.

Why were the original Page/Strzok text messages released to the public in December 2017, and January 2018?  Perhaps more importantly: Who did the redactions within the text messages prior to their release? And why were those redactions ever made?

There’s a bunch of ‘unofficial’ evidence, or data-points, that no-one can explain how or why they came to be visible.  The data did not surface sequentially; but it surely surfaced purposefully from within the apparatus of government.

Just like the questions about who redacted information inside the 600 pages text messages between DOJ/FBI Lawyer Lisa Page and FBI investigator Peter Strzok; putting the downstream data-points together leads to a series of questions that remain the subject of much speculation through today:

  • How do we find out about the Mark Warner text messages?
  • Who publicly released the Carter Page FISA application?
  • Where did the four day flood of information (Dec 1st – 4th, 2017) about Lisa Page and Peter Strzok come from?
  • Who released that Page/Strzok information to the media?  Why?
  • Who made the decision not to indict James Wolfe for leaking classified information?
  • Why be so specific about details within the Wolfe indictment; then dismiss them?
  • Who made the decision (FISA ap) NOT TO redact the key FISC clerk stamp?
  • Where is all of this “unofficial” evidence/information coming from?
  • Why?

For a long time CTH has looked at these questions from the position that the information was adverse to the interests of the DOJ; therefore we operated on the assumption that someone within the apparatus of government was leaving a trail of information with good intention.  However, over time – and with the absence of any accountability being delivered, there is also another motive that deserves attention and review.

There is a flip-side motive to these releases.

It is entirely possible this information was made public in an effort to tip-off a wide net of corrupt officials who participated in the largest abuse of power in history.

Consider four specific data-sets of information that were made public:

  1. The redacted Strzok/Page text messages (released Dec ’17, Jan ’18).
  2. The Text messages from SSCI Vice-Chairman Mark Warner (released Feb ’18)
  3. The unnecessary details within the James Wolfe indictment (released June ’18)
  4. The surprise release of the Carter Page FISA application (released July ’18)

The important notations here are: (1) three of the four sets of data were released without any specific purpose (LP/PS Text messages, Warner texts, FISA App); (2) no-one knows why those three data points were released; (3) no-one knows who released them; (4) no-one knows who redacted the text messages; (5) the FISC Clerk Stamp (FISA) appears to have been intentionally left unredacted; (6) the specificity within the page #6 data within the Wolfe indictment was unnecessary for the direct purpose, yet important for the indirect purpose of connecting the data; (7) the Wolfe indictment was unsealed six months after he was caught (Dec ’17); and (8) NONE of these four sets of data were essential information at the time they were released.

This tells me, someone wanted this information into the bloodstream of public knowledge; yet none of this information was part of an official release; except the Wolfe indictment – yet it contained unnecessary specificity within the page-6 details when unsealed.

This brings us to the critical question: Who?  Who wanted this out there?

The answer to that question is uniquely narrow when you think about the documents and who held proprietary ownership to authorize the release.

Because of the documents in question, the granting authority would need to be inside the DOJ.  Because of the content of the documents, the approver would have to be important enough to have access and knowledge of the bigger dynamic at play.  This person or group would also need to be high enough in the food chain to authorize the FISA release and have control over the redaction decision process (leaving the FISC Clerk stamp date visible).  This person/group would have to be high enough to ‘unofficially’ release the Warner text messages (example), and yet not worried about administrative punishment after doing it.

In essence, these release decisions -and the filtering of specifics therein- were made at the highest levels of authority within the Department of Justice.

Now, we move toward the motive question.

If you think about a corrupt institution containing stakeholders with both good and bad motives, there’s a solid argument to be made -especially based on hindsight- that bad actors within the organization were pushing this information into the public bloodstream in an effort to tip-off cooperating/participating bad actors who had a role within the conspiracy.   In essence, all damaging evidence against their endeavor was made public to allow each person to create their defense.

In this deep state scenario, the granular details (evidence) of what investigating officials were uncovering was intentionally, albeit unofficially, pushed out.  Because of the nature of the material, only those corrupt entities who participated would know the specific value and importance of each release.  They would know what investigators had against them.

One example is the Wolfe indictment.  By outlining exactly how Senate Security Officer James Wolfe was caught leaking classified and top secret intelligence, but not charging him with the unlawful activity outlined therein, all of those who were participating in the leak schemes could cover their tracks and modify their activity.

Another example is the Page/Strzok messages.  By pushing those messages out, those who were involved in the conspiracy could evaluate their risk and frame their defense.  Those bad actors would likely know what is under the redactions because they directly participated.

By releasing details of the secret back-channel communication between Senator Mark Warner and lawyer/lobbyist Adam Waldman again the participants would have an opportunity to construct alternative explanations for the contacts and communication. The SSCI would also know the scope of what investigators knew about the evidence.

By making the Carter Page FISA application public, all of the (foreign and domestic) entities who participated in the larger ‘Spygate’ construct would also have a head’s-up on how their involvement was used.  Simultaneously, by leaving the FISC Clerk Stamp visible those who participated in the leaks – would be tipped off to a leak hunt method (date changes).

Within the flip-side-motive scenario we find a strong likelihood the bad actors inside the conspiracy have been able to formulate their defense strategy for more than a year.  In essence the conspiracy crew, and their lawfare defenders, have known the evidence against them. The very specific evidence.

Secondly, if this unnerving perspective is accurate, in addition to explaining why we have not witnessed any accountability this would almost certainly indicate special counsel Robert Mueller and AAG Rod Rosenstein hold a duplicitous (institutionally saving) intent.

♦(1) Create a Special Counsel investigation – By creating the investigation it is then used as a shield by any corrupt FBI/DOJ official who would find himself/herself under downstream congressional investigation.  Former officials being deposed/questioned by IG Horowitz or Congress could then say they are unable to answer those questions due to the ongoing special counsel investigation.  In this way Mueller provides cover for officials.

♦(2)  Use the investigation to keep any and all inquiry focused away from the corrupt DOJ and FBI activity that took place in 2016, 2016, 2017.  Keep the media narrative looking somewhere, anywhere, other than directly at the epicenter of the issues. In this way, Mueller provides distraction and talking points against the Trump administration.

♦(3) Use the investigation to suck-up, absorb, any damaging investigative material that might surface as a result of tangentially related inquiry.  Example: control the exposure of evidence against classified leak participants like SSCI Director of Security, James Wolfe. In this way Mueller provides cover for the institutions and the administrative state.

♦(4) Use the authority within the investigation, and the control parameters therein, to keep those involved in the original conspiracy informed about any evidence against them.

In all of these objectives the Mueller special counsel has been stunningly effective.

It is about 1 hour and 13 minutes long and gets going around the 30 minute mark.
It discusses how very Marianas Trench Deep the corruption is among all the players in DC and how everyone in DC’S livelihood is tied to it continuing.
It outlines the play book that the Deep State use to target and destroy anyone that gets in their way.
It also outlines how to get it under control and actually start really draining the swamp and cleaning house at all the alphabet agencies.

Rather than focus on why our justice system isn’t working let us ask what interests on a global scale can not afford to have it work…..nor our Congress function nor even our Supreme Court function in the case of Obamacare.

President Trump is an anomaly if we look at the last 30 years of US government.

When there are Trillions at stake who cannot be corrupted or coerced into designed outcomes?
Why would we expect our CIA or our “allies” to be uncorrupted? Why did so many members of Congress leave? Were they tried of being threatened or bought?

Looking overseas why is Brexit being fought over the express will of the British people? Whomever influences The EU controls a large part of the world through its economy. Why would we assume that ANY foreign governments are not corrupted and influenced with the exceptions of perhaps China and a few others?

Each time we spot a suspicious reaction to stimuli by anyone in our government my first thought is who bought them or made them a deal that they couldn’t refuse.

As depressing a thought as it may seem…….”Ask not who is corrupted, ask instead who is not.”

I can tell you who’s at the heart of this–Satan and all whom he controls. He wants everyone and everything under his control (as in one world government). I’ve read the end of the Book, and he gets his way for a very short period of time.

When you stop and think about it (if you know anything about true Christianity), Satan wants what he’s always wanted–to be God and lord it over people. The only way he can do that is to control everyone. God’s way , on the other hand, is the complete opposite (as in, when Christ sets you free, you are free indeed).

In short, this battle is good vs. evil, God vs. Satan. And it LOOKS like Satan is winning–only God has the last word!

A deep state agent as the source of the leaks? Ehhhhh… I’m not seeing it. Could be, but I lean more toward your theory of the source being Whitaker.

Actually, I lean even further toward a different theory: an unknown and unidentified white hat in DOJ, possibly working in conjunction with a like-minded person within FBI. They don’t even need to have related jobs, just a shared love of country and the clearances to get access and compare notes. If one added a third unidentified white hat, one with military psyops or clandestine service training, perhaps in a third agency altogether, you’d have a complete team and one better able to cover everyone’s tracks. Short of it is, we may never know the source(s) of the leaks that exposed this sordid mess. I can live with that. Just keep them coming. Hat tip to whomever.

Excellent outline. All of these releases were suspicious to me the moment they occurred, and Q type explanations were never satisfying to explain them. The releases were objectively controlled by the Swamp and Deep State (they came from DoJ afterall), and all motives are theirs’. This is classic conspiracy behavior… to control an investigation… and use it to send the appropriate signals to primary and secondary participants.

Like the charges against Manafort, these releases a year ago signaled the conspirators and Mueller had reached a dead end in their mainline work to destroy Trump, and it was time to mitigate their exposure. And it is exposure that a conspiracy most fears, a fear that Trump has been playing on ever since. Not only has this conspiracy failed to destroy Trump, it has offered him a distraction and an avenue to blackmail many of his enemies. It has hurt him politically, yes, and will continue to do so, but it isn’t an existential threat to him. However, the conspirators and many of his enemies are threatened, and he has the public means to slowly expose them, by drips and drabs. We’d all relish trials and the gallows for these conspirators, which will likely never occur, but their access and pocketbooks can be threatened. Trump is also sending signals, and they are having their effect. Hillary’s globalist slush fund is in decline, as are many others’ no doubt. You cannot confront Deep State and the Swamp with a frontal assault. Slow erosion and small victories are the only way. And blackmail, and the threat of the unknown. That’s what can move the needle. Trump can dance this dance better than they can, too, and use it to facilitate his day job: MAGA is what matters most.

If anyone of note in D.C. were serious about draining the swamp, they could appoint a second special counsel to investigate corruption within the FBI and DOJ, which would include Mueller himself. They have not. Trump is alone in a sniper nest. He has plenty of ammo (his followers), but no chance of escape or hope of victory. He can only slay as many of the enemy as possible before his demise. As the 300 proved, you only fight until the bodies pile too high to fight over. Then you die; but your body count can motivate generations after.

When Obama was in office, he authorized the use of propaganda on the American people, yes it’s true. Yes, our old friend the State Department is back in the mix.

Who better, to send out misleading information, than a unit of the US government designed to do just that? But, why did Obama wait until 2017 to sign this act. They (Congress Included) did not expect Obama to use it. Could it be, it was created to be used against the Trump Presidency by the Obama forces left in government?

Another interesting fact related to this same act is that it depends on a perceived threat from an outside source, such as countering the threat posed by Russia. But, what if the Russia Propaganda/collusion did not exist? Then would it not be true that the “Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act” would become in effective. No longer, possible under the law?

Obama Quietly Signs The “Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act” Into Law
Today, I have signed into law S. 2943, the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017.” This Act authorizes fiscal year 2017 appropriations principally for the Department of Defense and for Department of Energy national security programs, provides vital benefits for military personnel and their families, and includes authorities to facilitate ongoing operations around the globe. It continues many critical authorizations necessary to ensure that we are able to sustain our momentum in countering the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and to reassure our European allies, as well as many new authorizations that, among other things, provide the Departments of Defense and Energy more flexibility in countering cyber-attacks and our adversaries’ use of unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Second, the legislation seeks to leverage expertise from outside government to create more adaptive and responsive U.S. strategy options. The legislation establishes a ****fund to help train ****local journalists and provide grants and contracts to NGOs, civil society organizations, think tanks, private sector companies, ******media organizations, and other experts outside the U.S. government with experience in identifying and analyzing the latest trends in foreign government disinformation techniques. This fund will complement and support the Center’s role by integrating capabilities and expertise available outside the U.S. government into the strategy-making process. It will also empower a decentralized network of private sector experts and integrate their expertise into the strategy-making process.

Have been trying to follow spygate from my very outside persective (as a german citizen). I have a general understanding of the nature of the “swamp”, but not much understanding of the american institutional system.
This said: I find Sundance’s explanation resonating with my very vague understanding. I would formulate it this way.
What you are doing is not meant to be something like a french or russian revolution with all the bloodshed, with a terror-regime to suppress the old class, with immense suffering for the common man, or (as we are now in the 21. century) a global economic breakdown or a global destructive war ….
but an effective neutralization of the “evil” forces.
And: the evil forces are not only sitting in DC, but in Iran, Europe, Beijing, …. They need to be neutralized worldwide.
Your president, President Trump, is a genius. He prepared for this for maybe 40 years. And he has many able helpers.
So I think the whole operation is kind of like Sundance discribes, but it is not meant to alert people so the so-called deep state can stay in power. Rather Its damage control, its a strategy to allow them as much escape as is necessare to prevent them from pulling triggers, that would crash the economy (or ignite a global war …). These evil forces are by nature very suicidal, if they are too desperate, they might take us all into their suicide.
But they won’t escape their fate.

The releases could be intended as bait, or triggers.

‘Intent’ is one of the most challenging aspects of criminal behavior to prove in court.

Among the most effective evidence of ‘intent’ is a criminal’s effort to cover up, destroy evidence, and/or influence witnesses.

The released info could trigger some criminal actors to indulge in cover-up behavior, while the savvy investigators surveil and record the damning activity.

  14. Space Invader says:

I am a long time reader of CTH but first time commenter. This explanation is one that I have had in my mind for many months now. Sundance has adeptly analyzed these releases and rightly questions ‘to what end’ they are being used. That they are being used as prescriptive releases to develop cover stories for the guilty parties is spot on. Cover stories are a major part of the intelligence community culture. Once upon a time, I helped develop cover stories for military aerospace activities – mainly to explain certain public observations related to technology. Fake news ? Yes, it’s the art of deception and a core part of classified technology programs and many other government activities. I spent a good many years of my career working in military intelligence circles with high level clearances and was part of the ‘special club’. It is definitely a community that takes care of its own and dispenses with those they see as disloyal. It’s about protecting the ‘community way of life and its values’.

I eventually became a conscientious objector around 2008 and gave back my clearances. Surprisingly they were not easy to give back – someone wanted me to stay ‘on the inside’ but I persisted and they relented when I used the words ‘conscientious objector’. Following this, I endured a few years of random visits from the local FBI before they finally left me alone. This was when I realized the very close links between the FBI and the NSA. I concluded in the days before Snowden that what we were all doing as part of the military industrial complex was morally bankrupt and really just industry feeding itself much like Eisenhower warned. Some thought of me as paranoid because of my complaints of IC retributions against me but this episode against Trump is proof that the intelligence community protects its own and punishes those that leave the reservation. Trump threatens the old order that has given this community infinite resources and the power to preserve their system. I have a few friends that were on the Trump campaign and they knew that serious efforts were afoot to both monitor and sabotage their electronic operations for the campaign. The stories that they have related to me are not in the public domain and would further support this whole topic we are discussing here.

Good work Sundance and God bless you for standing up for what is good and right. You are someone of rare character. A TRUE Patriot you are.

Many in the IC leadership – and that includes the CIA/FBI/NSA/NRO/DIA and on and on – is really and simply convinced that what they are doing is right and proper. They view themselves as being ‘the keepers of freedom’ and the ‘protectors of the US’. Even if that means stomping all over the rights and privacy of US citizens, making examples out of others through sham prosecutions, and now deciding to ‘protect us’ against unsavory politicians such as Trump. This is the height of insanity and hypocrisy. Ironically many of those on the inside support Trump but what is happening in the public is a mirror to what is happening inside the IC. People are afraid to speak up for fear of retribution and humiliation. Those leaders committing these crimes are with a sense of moral superiority and literally believe that the means are justified by the end. They are willing to do what it takes to protect this system. Deep down inside, I believe, many of them know that this is wrong but are more afraid of their carefully constructed world coming apart than being brought up for prosecution of corruption. Literally, if the CIA/FBI/NSA/NRO/DIA disappeared tomorrow, many of the leaders in these groups would have no prospects for a career, would have their 200-300k / year salaries disappear, and would be thrust into a world where you can’t hide behind secrecy and your rise or fall in your job depends on results that you produce. So to answer your question in short – their objective is pure survival in their eyes.

The idiot Sessions should have known the Dems history, they are communist lovers in this country. That incompetent POS were supposed to have known the high stakes Trump was playing and covered all basis against the party that protected spies likes of Alger Hiss than Repubs could protect an elected Trump from a witch hunt of the commie lovers! Putin must be laughing his ass off
I am really disgusted that Trump supporters are not in the streets after the French showed so much guts for the gas tax repeal! Here in sanctuary state dumb people voted for gas tax!
Moat snowflakes want to live in a socialist country than a capitalist country and the 1A gives them same rights! Go figure when they bring that by violence.

What if the emails were not leaked by someone in the DOJ with authority to release the documents, but rather, were leaked by a Republican, say someone like Devin Nunes who has access and ACTUALLY wants to see people prosecuted? I have heard both Chairman Goodlatte and the “very experienced prosecutors” Goodlatte says are going to ask questions (Gowdy, Ratcliff), as well as Rep. Gaetz talk about what they want to know from Comey all week and it’s all blah, blah, for example “did Comey use his professor friend to leak in order to trigger the special counsel investigation?”. Duh, what do they think Comey is going to answer: “Yes, you’ve got me dead to rights?” They’ve rattled off a dozen “questions” they want answered, and they are all equally stupid opportunities for Comey to lie and grandstand. Maybe someone who REALLY wants someone to be prosecuted made the new emails public so that fakers like Gowdy would be forced to ask about them or answer for why he didn’t ask.

    • Or maybe the emails were leaked by people under Comey like Priestap or McCabe (who wouldn’t have them through response to inquiries, but would have them in their own computers) who want to make sure the buck stops with Comey instead of stopping with them.

While Rosenstein, Mueller, the Triple Threat axis of Brennan-Clapper-Comey trend towards peak-sedition before the 116th Congress, Trump is not even halfway through Term One; nor, as is quite evident, has he yet begun to fight.

Two things about El Presidente: He wins because he’s right, and he speaks truth. This baffles, frustrates, Deep State globulists (sic) no end, drowning them in MSM ordure. As Macron is discovering, “You don’t need a weatherman to know the wind is blowing” (Dylan, 1965). Belay your coiffed-blonde nunchuks (don’t they all look the same?)– we are all Yellow Jackets now.
