Washington Free Beacon Via Billionaire Paul Singer Initially Funded Fusion GPS Anti Trump Oppo-Research…

A few media reports are all confirming the initial funding for the Fusion GPS opposition research against candidate Donald Trump came from The Washington Free Beacon and the previously undisclosed underwriter for the WFB, billionaire Paul Singer.

This makes sense because WFB was the primary conservative media advocate for candidate Marco Rubio who was also backed by billionaire Paul Singer. The primary editor of WFB Matthew Continetti is married to the daughter of notorious NeverTrumper Bill Kristol:

WASHINGTON – Lawyers for the conservative publication Washington Free Beacon informed the House Intelligence Committee Friday that the organization was the original funder for the anti-Trump opposition research project with Fusion GPS. (link)

The Washington Free Beacon did not reveal their ownership, however both Breitbart and Daily Caller are confirming the financial underwriting for WFB comes from Paul Singer. The WFB is now attempting to explain their opposition research HERE.

It’s a rather odd dynamic to discover that a media outlet would be purchasing a contract for opposition research, no?  Then again, the majority of the electorate have no idea how the right-side of the political continuum is engaged in pushing an ideological agenda – they are not just reporting facts.  WFB should lose all journalistic credibility; they won’t, but they should.

It should also be noted, despite the conflation by the democrats, the initial commissioned opposition research had nothing to do with the Clinton and DNC contract with Christopher Steele who wrote the ‘Russian Dossier’.

However, in the larger picture, billionaire Paul Singer’s confirmed activity only adds weight to our discussions in 2015 and 2016 about how billionaires influence conservative politics through their purchase of media to drive their ideology and self-interest.  If you know the billionaire behind the media enterprise you can predict the policy advocacy of the content therein.

Billionaire Robert Mercer owns Breitbart and originally supported Ted Cruz through the GOP primary.

Billionaire Farris Wilkes owns Daily Wire (Ben Shapiro) and supported Ted Cruz through the GOP primary.

Billionaire Cary Katz owns Conservative Review and CRTV (Mark Levin) and supported Ted Cruz through the GOP primary.

Billionaire Paul Singer owns Washington Free Beacon and supported Marco Rubio through the GOP primary.

In each instance the ideological worldview of the owner establishes the foundational building block for the political policy advancement promoted by the central figureheads within the media organization.  If you know the billionaire behind the organization you can predict the direction of the articles written by the media.

Just like Carlos Slim (New York Times), Ted Turner (CNN) and Jeff Bezos (Washington Post), the same entrenched ideology applies to the billionaires and corporate media on the other side of the political spectrum.  Sinclair Media (Sara Carter – Circa) and Salem Media (Hot Air, Twitchy, Human Events, Red State, etc.) can all be guaranteed to express a very specific narrow policy and worldview -based on ideology- in each of their publications and broadcasts.

In the 2016 election presidential candidate Donald Trump did not have support from any billionaire or corporate owned media enterprise.  When you look at the expressed worldview of the billionaire media and compare it to Trump’s “America First” compass heading you realize why this is not accidental.

Billionaires like Wilbur Ross, Steve Mnuchin, Carl Ican, Steve Wynn, Peter Thiel, Thomas Barrack and Woody Johnson all supported Trump, but they were outside media; and like Trump himself, focused more on the economic side of the policy spectrum.

Billionaires, and Billionaire owned corporations, on the right side who own media are engaged more heavily in social transformations, cultural/social issues, religion and foreign policy advocacy for the nation state of Israel.

Billionaires on the right side who don’t purchase media are more focused on business and economics; those are Trump-type billionaires.  As you might remember from earlier discussion threads:

It is critical to understand nuanced DC perspectives within all of this because the same lobbying activity stems across a broad stream of “conservative media” outlets, and has an interest in influencing our opinion.   Breitbart, Washington Free Beacon, Conservative Review, and a host of other media entities are aligned in purpose/ideology with strong religious, Pro-Israel lobbying positions.

This can sometimes create a challenging hypocrisy to reconcile, and is never more evident that on the subject of Iran.

Example: Steve Bannon will argue against military intervention from one side of his mouth, yet when it comes to Iran he will happily align with the need for a declaration of war or militaristic activity.  Bannon’s connection with lobbying groups is also why he will never stop supporting Senator Ted Cruz.  It’s not simply a matter of U.S. policy, it’s an agenda aspect to supporting the lobby; and ultimately Israel’s best interests.

[Ted Cruz supported TPP and actually constructed Trade Promotion Authority, the vehicle for TPP passage.  This would make one think Steve Bannon, who claims “Economic Nationalism” as a priority in 2017, would therefore abandon Cruz.  He doesn’t because of the larger interests of aligned and connected lobbyists and their influence on media.]

Senator Tom Cotton is an ally in America-First economically and on immigration; however, when it comes to foreign policy the filter of the pro-Israel lobby overlays his militaristic positions.  This ideological alignment, and donor-rewarded advocacy within the GOPe, is a common DC influence agent for foreign policy.

Some christian and far-right (orthodox) media are also part of this advocacy.  It becomes increasingly evident when we see Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, Joel Pollak, et al, attacking Trump administration officials depending on the perception of policy risk to pro-Israel media positions.

Additionally, some attacks on Trump cabinet members by the “NeverTrump” community are driven by a concern the member’s support for Israel is not paramount in the policy.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been, and will be, openly skewered for positions that do not align with accepted conservative religious media orthodoxy.  So too will Secretary of Defense James Mattis; or, as history has evidenced, Trump National Security Adviser HR McMaster.

Each of these administration officials, and others, will be a hero or villain depending on the policy issue that surfaces and how it is viewed by pro-Israel media outlets who share opinions on politics.  CTH is pro-Israel, but it doesn’t drive our perspectives.

This is an important aspect to understand because many of the facts and opinions which help us establish our own positions on the Iran deal are likely to come from ideologically familiar media sources, or politicians.  Those voices can often be heavily influenced by their association with pro-Israel/anti-Iran lobbying groups.

Ultimately any underlining influence is just another consideration when viewing information as it is shared. Understanding the prism and world-view writers and pundits place upon their discussion of foreign policy helps everyone better evaluate content.

CTH was with Trump from 2012 yet we didn’t even know him.  CTH knew we needed someone from outside the entire apparatus of politics, but we didn’t know who would ultimately come down that escalator and take point position for common sense.

We are blessed and thankful.

REMINDER:

[ Transcript ] […] Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People. There is nothing the political establishment will not do, and no lie they will not tell, to hold on to their prestige and power at your expense.

The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it, exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.

The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. As an example, just one single trade deal they’d like to pass, involves trillions of dollars controlled by many countries, corporations and lobbyists.

For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interests they partner with, our campaign represents an existential threat.

lion-cloud-2

This is not simply another 4-year election. This is a crossroads in the history of our civilization that will determine whether or not We The People reclaim control over our government.

The political establishment that is trying everything to stop us, is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration, and economic and foreign policies that have bled this country dry. The political establishment has brought about the destruction of our factories and our jobs, as they flee to Mexico, China and other countries throughout the world. Our just-announced jobs numbers are anemic, and our gross domestic product, or GDP, is barely above one percent. Workers in the United States, were making less than they were almost 20 years ago – and yet they are working harder.

It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.

Just look at what this corrupt establishment has done to our cities like Detroit and Flint, Michigan – and rural towns in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina and across our country. They have stripped these towns bare, and raided the wealth for themselves and taken away their jobs.

The Clinton Machine is at the center of this power structure. We’ve seen this firsthand in the WikiLeaks documents in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers.

And, likewise, the emails show that the Clinton Machine is so closely and irrevocably tied to media organizations that she is given the questions and answers in advance of her debates. Clinton is also given approval and veto power over quotes written about her in the New York Times. And the emails show the reporters collaborate and conspire directly with the Clinton Campaign on helping her win the election.

With their control over our government at stake, with trillions of dollars on the line, the Clinton Machine is determined to achieve the destruction of our campaign, which has now become a movement the likes of which our country has never seen before – and we won’t let them do that.

The most powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media. Let’s be clear on one thing: the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They are a political special interest, no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with an agenda. And their agenda is to elect the Clintons at any cost, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy.

press we can actualFor them, it is a war – and for them, nothing is out of bounds.

This is a struggle for the survival of our nation. This election will determine whether we are a free nation, or whether we have only the illusion of Democracy but are in fact controlled by a small handful of global special interests rigging the system.

This is not just conspiracy but reality, and you and I know it.

The establishment and their media enablers wield control over this nation through means that are well known. Anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed. They will attack you, they will slander you, they will seek to destroy your career and reputation. And they will lie, lie and lie even more.

The Clintons are criminals. This is well-documented, and the establishment that protects them has engaged in a massive cover-up of widespread criminal activity at the State Department and Clinton Foundation in order to keep the Clintons in power. Never in history have we seen such a cover-up as this, one that includes the destruction of 33,000 emails, 13 phones, laptops, missing boxes of evidence, and on and on.

People who are capable of such crimes against our nation are capable of anything.

[…] But I take all of these slings and arrows for you. I take them for our movement, so that we can have our country back. Our great civilization, here in America and across the civilized world, has come upon a moment of reckoning.

We’ve seen it in the United Kingdom, where they voted to liberate themselves from global government and global trade deals and global immigration deals that have destroyed their sovereignty.

But the central base of world political power is here in America, and it is our corrupt political establishment that is the greatest power behind the efforts at radical globalization and the disenfranchisement of working people.

Their financial resources are unlimited. Their political resources are unlimited. Their media resources are unlimited. And, most importantly, the depths of their immorality is unlimited.

Our political establishment has no soul. I knew these false attacks would come. I knew this day would arrive. And I knew the American people would rise above it and vote for the future they deserve.

The only thing that can stop the Corrupt Clinton Machine is you. The only force strong enough to save this country is you. The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you, the American People.

They control the Department of Justice, and they even clandestinely meet with the Attorney General of the United States – in the back of her airplane, while on the runway – for 39 minutes – to most likely discuss her reappointment in a Clinton Administration just prior to the Attorney General making a decision over whether or not to prosecute Hillary Clinton.

trump eagle 8Likewise, they have corrupted the Director of the FBI to the point at which stories are already saying the great men and women who work for the FBI are embarrassed and ashamed to what he’s done to one of our great institutions. Hillary Clinton is guilty of all of the things that Director Comey stated at his press conference and Congressional hearings, and far more – and yet he let her off the hook, while others lives are being destroyed for far less.

This is a conspiracy against you, the American people.

This is our moment of reckoning as a society and as a civilization.

I didn’t need to do this. I built a great company, and I had a wonderful life. I could have enjoyed the benefits of years of successful business for myself and my family, instead of going through this absolute horror show of lies, deceptions and malicious attacks. I’m doing it because this country has given me so much, and I feel strongly it was my turn to give back.

Some people warned me this campaign would be a journey to hell. But they are wrong, it will be a journey to heaven because we will help so many people.

In my former life, I was an insider as much as anybody else – and I know what’s like to be an insider. Now I am being punished for leaving their special club and revealing to you their great scam. Because I used to be part of the club, I’m the only one who can fix it. I’m doing this for the people, and this movement is just right – and we will take back this country for you and Make America Great Again.

The corrupt establishment knows that we are an existential threat to their criminal enterprise. They know, that if we win, their power is gone and returned to you. The clouds hanging over our government can be lifted, and replaced with a bright future – but it all depends on whether we let the New York Times decide our future, or whether we let the American people decide our future.

If this Clinton Campaign of Destruction is allowed to work, then no other highly successful person – which is what our country needs – will ever again run for this office.

I will not lie to you. These false attacks hurt. To be lied about, to be slandered, to be smeared so publicly and before your family, is painful.

What the Clinton Machine is doing to me, and my family, is egregious beyond words. It is reprehensible beyond description.

But I also know, it’s not about me – it’s about all of you. It’s about all of us, together, as a country.

It’s about the Veterans who need medical care, the mothers who’ve lost children to terrorism and crime, it’s about the inner cities and the border towns who desperately need our help, it’s about the millions of jobless Americans. This election is about the people being crushed by Obamacare, and it’s about defeating ISIS and appointing Supreme Court Justices who will defend our Constitution.

This election is also about the African-American and Hispanic communities whose communities have been plunged into crime, poverty and failing schools by the policies of Hillary Clinton. They’ve robbed these citizens of their future, and I will give them their hope, jobs and opportunities back. I will deliver.

This election is about every man, woman and child in our country who deserves to live in safety, prosperity and peace.

We will rise above the lies, the smears, and the ludicrous slanders from ludicrous reporters.

We will vote for the country we want.

We will vote for the future we want.

We will vote for the politics we want.

We will vote to put this corrupt government cartel out of business. We will remove from our politics the special interests who have betrayed our workers, our borders, our freedoms, and our sovereign rights as a nation. We will end the politics of profit, we will end the rule of special interests, we will put a stop to the raiding of our country – and the disenfranchisement of our people.

Our Independence Day is at hand, and it arrives, finally, on November 8th. Join me in taking back our country, and creating a bright and glorious new dawn for our people.

~ Donald Trump

Yes this nation is in deep trouble. Sodom and Gomorrha had nothing on what has happened here in our great Country that has helped and saved so many. If this nation is lost so is the planet.
The corruption proven daily is wide and deep. What President Trump has dealt with is beyond a normal persons ability to withstand.
Thank you Sundance for giving us a place of respite to go back to sanity and hope. It is so very disparaging when you read and hear the news that is out there, when you feel the absolute hate and know that it is crazy hate based on lies out there, and you wonder how, if it is so difficult for us to bear with it, how much more so for President Trump. So thank you CTH for all that you do!

Who are the backers in the shadows of National Review?

I remember the 90’s when the GOP (and Clinton) would quake in their boots at criticism from Rush. Eventually they all learned he is a toothless tiger (no influence with the voters) and can safely ignore what he says. If you were counting on Limbaugh to lead the charge then he failed. Also, along with Hannity and Fox News he was the primary purveyor of the #BatteredConservativeSyndrome. THAT was bad.

Unlike faux-conservatives (Kristol, Krauthammer, etc.) he actually helped (and is helping) our cause. For those of you who are mad at Rush, you don’t remember the dark days of national news when we did not have any national conservative voices (other than Paul Harvey.) Oh, I forgot…we had George Will as a national conservative media type. Boy, were we fooled.

    • Has anybody here criticizing Rush listened to him post inauguration or is it just fashionable to say things like “flush Rush” and get a high five? Yes, He said something about Marco during primaries. Big deal!
I listen to him regularly – in fact I have WMAL on all the time and if there is one person who has stood by President Trump, among the various hosts on WMAL, post inauguration, is Rush.
I am no fan of Rush but then I am no fan of President Trump either, Am I supporter of President Trump? a big YES.. fan? a big NO – for that matter I am not a fan of anybody.
I know lot of folks have turned off Rush due to whatever reasons during the primaries and since they do not listen to him anymore are probably still believing that Rush is anti-Trump. My suggestions to them will be – listen to Rush now and form your own opinion.
I am certain that Rush do read this web site regularly though he never gives any credit – if he is anti-Trump I do not see any reason why he should read this website and then sometimes quote verbatim when sometimes he is explaining / defending certain actions by President Trump.

There were many of us right here among the branches that probably did not have Trump as our first choice. I, too, have Rush on if i’m driving during his broadcast hours and learn a lot. I think he has lots of inside sources and contributes to the conversation. He certainly is most definitely anti-Democrat//liberal, is very vocal about that and for that reason alone is valuable to our side.

the interpretation used by libs of the 14A started by Justice Brennan from a case heard in 1982 may be unconstitutional but the amendment itself has never been challenged and its historical author and supporters made very clear at the time it was to establish citizenship for former SLAVES born in this country prior to the Civil War…..I personally believe the 13-15A are unconstitutional as a form of extortion was used to pass them……pass them or you cannot get your full states’ rights back after Lincoln had just said the states NEVER seceeded and would not be able to…..do some research and the 16A and 17A were never constitutionally ratifed either so as many as 5 Amendments do not belong

The first charges of the investigation spearheaded by special counsel Robert Muller were approved Friday by a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., according to a report Friday.

This is a mere distraction. It’s not going to work.

From my friend who drinks whiskey and knows things, updated to reflect new information:

“The mastermind behind the whole shebang happens to be a Republican, someone who would benefit from Trump being skewered. There is only one: That being George H.W. Bush, who also happened to be the former director of the CIA. The original intended beneficiary of the Russia dossier being published and used: iJEB!; with a secondary beneficiary being Marco Rubio, who was the next best bet after !YEB!. Also a beneficiary: Hillary, who the Bush family is very close to.

The Moneybags and damage control, the person who helped to fund the whole shebang: Paul Singer, who is connected to Mitt Romney, who has a lot to lose financially with Trump at the helm. Singer funded Our Priorities PAC, which is Romney’s PAC and run by Romney’s former campaign director.

Congressional co-conspirators: McCain and Ryan. McCain is the liason that got the start of the dossier to Britain. Ryan plays along because HE is jealous and wants power as well (came close to getting it, too.)

Media co-conspirators on this: Bill Kristol and National Review, with help from Grassroots activist Glenn Beck, who personally hate Trump. This was further facilitated by the Washington Free Beacon, which is run by Matthew Continetti, Kristol’s Son-In-Law. The role of the Mole is that of Reince Priebus, who Trump essentially fired after finding out that he wasn’t playing ball. The role of Sacrificial lamb and research analyst: Evan “Egg McMuffin” McMullin, with a secondary sacrificial lamb being the Libertarian Party.

Just look at the web connecting all these folks.
And, I mean, seriously – look at this web. Look at what we are really talking about here. This is BIG. This is beyond conspiracy theory. This is the heart and soul of the last 40 years of the Republican Party. And it is all right there, staring us in the face

No, I still see Murdoch and the Bush clan being cleaver snakes hiding behind some media start-up useful idiots. Yeah Singer is a #NeverTrumper but they had to have known Rubio wasn’t gonna get the nod. Rubio and Cruz are both part of the Bush / GOPe clan. If they didn’t know it was ALL about !Jeb! then they were just as much useful idiots as WFB / Singer.

All of us Common Folk ought to consider carefully next time we hear or read some “smart guy” bloviating about Trump’s director of this, or Secretary of that, or Chief of Staff, or his daughter, or his son-in-law. And when you tell them in gentlemanly terms to shut the flip up, they rejoinder by calling you a slavish “fan-boy.” I say, do a Homer Simpson on them — “LALALALALALALALA”, because if you trust Trump, YOU are right, and they are deceived. How can they be called the ‘right’ or ‘conservative’?

‘Social transformation’ practically an antonym of ‘conservative’. Conservatives conserve, they don’t transform.

What cultural or social issues? The billionaires on the ‘right’ are not against gay marriage (which WOULD be ‘conservative’), but they are very PRO-illegal immigration, which is NOT conservative.

No billionaires on the ‘right’ are pro-Biblical Christianity, which WOULD be ‘conservative’.

And what is it about ISRAEL all the time?

What in the WORLD is going on that a TINY little country on the other side of the planet has such an outsized influence on American politics and policies?

I have nothing against Israel by any stretch of the imagination, at least from a Biblical perspective (NOT the perspective(s) of the doctrine(s) of men, but what the Bible actually says). It’s hard to imagine how any Christian could oppose Biblical Israel. And I also support Israel as a democratic ally (one of the FEW in that part of the world). But that’s NOT the Israel all these NeverTrump traitors are obsessing about, neither of those reasons matter at ALL to the American billionaires on the ‘right’ or their NeverTrump traitors. I don’t know WHAT interest ‘the powers that be’ in America have in Israel, but it never seems to be because of the basic common interest of Israel being a democratic ally OR because of the basic reality that Jerusalem is where the Lord’s church was established on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.

It always seems to have to do with a 101 different things that NOBODY is willing to speak openly and directly about, which does nothing but fuel the conspiracy gristmill.

When the campaign started (before I found CTH), the only candidates I saw who were acceptable were Cruz, Carson and Trump.

Every other candidate was either disqualified for numerous reasons or were obviously not going to get any traction.

Cruz was on the list because of his ‘conservative’ persona, in spite of his personal repulsiveness (and before I found out he’s a Canadian and Constitutionally disqualified).

Carson seemed genuine and sincere, and was an outsider.

Trump was the one who made me smile, because he said the things NOBODY else would say. He didn’t do politi-speak. He made a sport out of kicking political-correctness in the teeth, and that was like a tall glass of cold water to a man dying of thirst in the desert.
