There are three basic options for this response from RFK Jr. (1) He really is not that intelligent, and doesn’t know of what he speaks. (2) He knows the full background context and is pretending not to know. (3) He’s working on behalf of an alternate interest.
The reason is simple, the last reauthorization of the FISA-702 process took place in December/January of 2017/2018. At the time of the issue you might remember the intense debate that encompassed what was called the “Nunes memo”.
The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) Chairman Devin Nunes had written a memo outlining the contents of the FISA application used against Carter Page. The Intelligence Community wanted to keep the information about the FISA application hidden from public review.
Devin Nunes’ memo was designated “Top Secret Compartmented Intelligence” (TSCI) by those who wanted it to remain hidden. Nunes was asking President Trump to use his declassification authority to remove the classified status, so that the American people could read how the DOJ, CIA, FBI and ODNI constructed a fraudulent FISA application to conduct political surveillance on Donald Trump.
Keep in mind, on March 17, 2017, SSCI Vice Chairman Mark Warner leaked a full and unredacted copy of the FISA application to the media. Three days later, on March 20th, FBI Director James Comey admitted during public testimony that Donald Trump was the subject of an active counterintelligence investigation.
Warner and Comey were running an operation using DC media to get the momentum they needed for a Special Counsel investigation. The SC investigation was needed to cover up the activity of the DOJ, FBI, NSD, ODNI and SSCI during the 2016 election cycle. Every element of the intelligence apparatus in DC was opposed to the efforts of Nunes and Trump to expose the unlawful targeting effort.
To get the Nunes memo declassified, both President Trump and Devin Nunes used the leverage of FISA-702 reauthorization to force the IC to declassify it. If the ODNI, FBI and DOJ did not agree to declassify the memo and make it public, then 702 would be allowed to expire, and the IC would lose their currency.
It worked. The DNI, FBI and DOJ acquiesced to the memo declassification. Then they worked diligently to undermine it.
That’s how they roll.
The FBI is to America in 2024, what the Soviet FSB was to Russia in 1984. A fully weaponized government inversion is underway within the United States.

Trump should have just ordered it declassified. He was the president after all. He didn’t have to placate the ODNI, FBI, and DOJ. If anyone in the leadership voiced an objection Trump should have used his trademark phrase “You’re fired!” on them.
RFK is right. Trump should not have reauthorized FISA 702 but he allowed people around him to manipulate him into capitulating to the deep state. That was the root of Trump’s major failings as President. He never was able to put his hands on the reins of power. Would Trump do better in a second term? Did he learn his lesson? I don’t think so after seeing him commend Speaker Johnson at Mar-A-Lago on the “good job” Johnson was doing just hours after Johnson cast the tie vote to re-authorize FISA 702.

Option 4. It’s a campaign statement. RFK Jr. is a political opponent of Trump and Biden. Biden syndicate wants both dead. If Trump had not reauthorized it it would have been a Biden campaign issue with an illustrative “event” or two. Politics for JFK Jr., war for the Democrat machine.

I still like Nunes for VP. To me he strikes a healthy balance of MAGA, youth, and beltway experience, particularly with the IC. However, apparently that opinion is in the decided minority. Nothing new for me. 🙂
Ok, I am beginning to believe they are all bad. There may not be one honest good guy in the entire mix. Trump may be a huge pacifier in place to prevent armed rebellion until the government can disarm us all. Have none of you ever considered this? I have voted for him twice, have the hats and coffee cups, listen to his speeches and rallies, and think he is probably our best chance of saving the country. But what if…? There are a lot of inconsistencies nagging at my brain. Why has he not declassified and dumped the proof of these snakes committing treason? Why is our country continuing to decay and rot? Why is nobody in government doing anything to help? I am like a drowning man going down for the third time. The situation appears hopeless, our best chance may be in on the scam, and we are soon to be out of hope. There really is no other leader at this time, so if Trump is not who and what he claims to be, we are toast. We may be able to mount a feeble resistance, but it will be snuffed out quickly. There are many more than me who sees this. We need something soon, or we are done.

I thought I would just be quiet and move on as I have done many times before when a forum I participated in became an echo chamber. But I came back this morning to just see where this was all going and found your comments. I figured, I have nothing to lose by saying I also have some reservations about Trump being smarter now. For the record, I voted for him twice and even if he is in jail, if his name is on the ballot, I’ll vote for him again. Does that mean I worship him as though he is some kind of god? Absolutely not. He clearly trusted and listened to the wrong people and I can’t ignore that. In spite of the irrefutable evidence that the clot shot was deadly and still causing much harm, has he stepped up to apologize for trusting Fauci and Birx? No, he still brags about being at the helm of Warp Speed. This is not right and a bad sign in my humble opinion.
I post this, not because I expect that anyone will care what I think or what my greater fears are for our declining country, but because I am a free thinker who asks tough questions and doesn’t/can’t fit where the requisite for acceptance membership is unquestioning devotion to an individual.

An interesting fact surrounding the leaking of the FISA warrant is the reporter who received it–ALI WATKINS. Ali Watkins was also given the “intelligence” collected by John Brennan himself that outlined the Putin plan to “interfere in other countries’ elections, including ours. That was in 2014 about the time Brennan was embroiled in the SSCI investigation into CIA torture, and then got tangled in an investigation into how he hacked the computers of SSCI staffers.
