Libertarians are not conservative except in the progressive/moderate/libertarian world.

I don’t want to get into a religious or philosophical discussion here but, first, I find it interesting that you think most CTHers are former 60s liberals or Libertarians. Almost all my friends have always voted Republican (now MAGA) and didn’t just “see the light” as they got older. Perhaps I’m wrong regarding CTH. Would be enlightening to know how people did change over, if so.
But my real reason for replying is that I will defend Ric Grenell because he’s worth defending. In countless interviews and articles he has written, I’ve never seen him do or say anything but hard truths that needed to be said that feckless politicians were/are too spineless to say. He always comports himself with dignity. He’s a thoughtful, common sense and articulate spokesman for true conservatism and for the Constitution. I’ve thought a great deal about this and, yes, I would vote for him for President and would love the opportunity to do so.
Put Ric up against almost all people out there in the political world and he is a stalwart patriot who loves this country, has respect for her history and is willing to fight!
All of this trans and other hysteria, to me, is different from being gay. Ric’s not pushing his sexuality on anyone and has always been very low key. But I defend him also because of the old, “I didn’t stand up because they weren’t coming for me. And when they came for me, it was too late.” I’ll let God be the judge of all of us.

I think I saw you post that in an earlier topic. OK, we get your take on it. I however, do not choose to make decisions which are afterlife related. Although I may not agree with someones lifestyle choice, I will leave the eternal decision to ONE that is surely greater than myself! I have long thought that someone elses gender and orientation is only relevant to me, IF I am attracted to them.

I highly respect Amb. Grenell. He is open, honest, forthright, and has 100% supported President Trump from beginning to now. He is loyal to him, his/our agenda – America First.

I heard him say in several interviews that he agreed to be Acting DNI but only for a few months, but it went a little longer. He is very loyal to President Trump.
He had a bad round with cancer. He is careful and choosing wisely. He doesn’t like DC, but there’s no doubt PT is influencing his form of service. Amb Grenell has a good heart. He is a good person.
He is a person that President Trump called to chat over what had happened when everything went South in January. Our President needs him to serve. Would you deny him that person, that confidante?

I read Dr. D’s comment late last night. I chose not to comment as I have the same quick response, wished I’d never said it gene! Just ask my husband. I love Ric, I wish he would run for Governor of CA when we (hopefully) recall Newsom. Speaking of which, the recall effort has far exceeded the number of signatures required, but the fix is in – the signatures are being rejected at a 50-60% rate. I call BS! They are scrutinizing signatures for a recall effort but did not for the past election ….think about that.

The substance of Ric’s speech was remarkable. That’s all that matters here.
For so many years the republican establishment used (shamefully) “homosexuality” as “outrage porn”. Note the applause for Ric. People who care about our country understand that we need fighters – and there is no finer than Mr. Ambassador Grenell.
Ric covered several great and critical issues. He did seem a bit constrained by the short time segment here. I think he does much better in an impromptu interview when he can expand on the topics within his expertise. Ric will hopefully continue to play a strong supportive role in taking the country back from the Left. Governor of California would be a great next step…..
