5:00pm Election Day Ground Reports – Northeastern State Primary Day

trump pennsylvania 5Today is election Day Today in: ♦ Pennsylvania ♦ Rhode Island ♦ Maryland ♦ Delaware and ♦ Connecticut.

If you are voting today in the Northeast perhaps you can share a ground report on what’s going on in/around your community, town or polling location.

Today is another critical day of voting for the rebel alliance. The most important thing to do is to have your voice counted. SO, GO VOTE:

Remember, every vote counts especially in primary races. Not only are we trying to win the top-line overall vote, but the percentage of vote matters for delegate distribution. Don’t take anything for granted. Complacency and apathy are dangerous.  Ask your neighbors, friends and co-workers.  Carpool and spread the word – EVERY VOTE COUNTS !

After voting, if you have a few minutes please share your perspective on events around your neighborhood. Ground reports are always the best gauge of voter sentiment.

What’s Going On Out There?

Reminder there are resources below including polling times, locations, and information about your specific voting places at the following reference links: (more…)

National Tracking Poll: Donald Trump 50%, Ted Cruz 26%, John Kasich 17%…

Tracking polls can be a little sketchy because they only track a continued snapshot of the same electorate over long periods of time.  Because a ‘tracking poll’ only measures a group of voters who are engaged early in the election process (in this example beginning December ’15) such polling methodology tends to miss the segment of the population that tunes-in later in the process, when it matters more.
As a consequence of methodology, tracking polls tend to miss the enthusiasm aspect which becomes more important as the race narrows and more people engage.  However, that said, the current NBC/Survey Monkey tracking poll shows a significant upward shift for Donald Trump and a downward trend for Ted Cruz and John Kasich:

(FULL POLL DATA)
(FULL POLL DATA)

Because of the methodology, the results are on the lower end of actual sentiment.  Meaning the national support for the upward shift is understated, and the drop in the downward trend is also understated.  In essence, Donald Trump is likely doing much better nationally than this representative snapshot, and Cruz/Kasich are likely doing much worse.

New Northeast Polls: Donald Trump Beats the Wunderkinds Combined…

“Ceilings”?  Well, firstly, if there was any doubt to the motive of the wunderkinds joining forcers in their vain effort to thwart the will of the electorate, that answer is now transparent.  Candidate Trump is simply thumping them both in the polling for the Northeast States tomorrow:
3 candidate 3 states
According to the latest PPP Polling released today (full pdf below), candidate Donald Trump is not only beating the Wunderkinds individually; he’s also beating them collectively.
Additionally interesting is some of the polling internal data which shows Senator Ted Cruz continuing to implode when the electorate is asked if they like him.  Cruz’s unfavorable rating continues to skyrocket.  (more…)

Pathetic – Ted Cruz and John Kasich Announce Joint "Never Voters Campaign" To Stop Donald Trump…

After the complete Trump New York victory, both Ted Cruz and John Kasich were mathematically eliminated from any possibility of winning through voters.  The #NeverTrump campaign shifted and rebranded itself #NeverVoters.

Last night, facing the looming probability of complete defeat on April 26th in the North East primary states of: Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland and Delaware, the Ted Cruz and John Kasich campaigns announced publicly their intents to draw their last-hope firewalls in Indiana, New Mexico and Oregon.
The most current polling of Pennsylvania looks like this:
3 candidate Pennsylvania Poll - 4-24-16
(full pdf of results here)… and the Trump campaign has also ramped up the voter information for the unbound PA delegates (SEE HERE) turning the tide of in favor of Team Donald Trump in the Keystone State.
As a direct consequence of the growing support for candidate Trump, and with looming electoral defeat on the horizon, the Ted Cruz campaign now places all its “never voter” efforts on stopping Donald Trump from winning Indiana.  However, Donald Trump is also polling ahead of Cruz in Indiana – so the Cruz campaign approach throws a Hail-Mary.
In an effort to improve fleeting chances, Team Cruz has struck a deal with the Kasich campaign.   Team Kasich is to pull out of Indiana, and Team Cruz will give them free reign in New Mexico and Oregon. (more…)

Rhode Island Poll: 90% of Female Voters Reject Senator Ted Cruz…

For the past several weeks Senator Ted Cruz has been running a presidential campaign based on a strategy to ‘win despite the voters’.  The latest Brown University poll (full pdf below) of Rhode Island voters highlights why.
The Brown U Poll shows Donald Trump with a lead of 38%, Governor Kasich second with 25% and Ted Cruz in dead last with only 14% support.

(FULL POLL DATA LINK)
(FULL POLL DATA LINK)

The poll surveyed a random sample of 600 registered Rhode Island voters who are likely to vote in the presidential primaries. It was conducted April 19 to 21 and has an overall margin of error of 4 percent.
However, the 19 Rhode Island delegates are distributed proportionally (13 by state vote count, and six by the two congressional districts’ vote count) with a minimum threshold of 10% to get any delegates; so even with only 14% it is possible for Senator Cruz to pick up a few delegates. (more…)

Kentucky GOP Party Insiders Send Mitch McConnell To Convention as Delegate…

(Via Kentucky.com) […] Kentucky Republicans selected 25 delegates to the national convention on Saturday, and McConnell was one of them. He urged delegates not to give Obama a third term by electing Hillary Clinton.

But McConnell would not say who he would support at a contested convention: Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, John Kasich or someone else. Instead, he criticized Obama for going on a “regulatory rampage.” And he reiterated his vow to not confirm Obama’s nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, declaring: “This vacancy will not be filled by this president” while Republican delegates stood and applauded.
