Sarah Sanders – White House Press Briefing June 30th, 2017

White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders conducts the press briefing for Friday June 30th.  Audio and Transcript:

.

[Transcript] 2:30 P.M. EDT – MS. SANDERS: Good afternoon. Happy Friday. I have just a couple things I want to highlight here at the top before we get into questions. We had another bad Obamacare news piece come out today out of Ohio. Premier Health Plan is withdrawing from the state’s exchange, leaving 20 more counties with no insurance plans on the Obamacare exchange. That’s on top of the 14 bare counties in Nevada we talked about yesterday.

For the thousands of Americans now left with no choice when it comes to health insurance, these announcements are more than just words and numbers — it means that they will have to make tough choices when it comes to medical care for themselves and their families.

The President is determined to give these families a better option. News like this is why it’s so important we repeal this failed law before it collapses completely. (more…)

No Respect – Playboy Magazine Reporter Brian Karem Complains Sarah Sanders is “Bullying” Him…

Yesterday a 56-year-old reporter representing Playboy magazine had an epic meltdown in the White House press briefing room [Video Here].  Brian Karem complained about journalists being called out as “fake news” when they report falsehoods, and protested on behalf of the honor of all White House journalists.

In an effort to capitalize on his moment in the sun, today 56-year-old Brian Karem runs to the Associated Press and claims Sarah Sanders and Sean Spicer (White House Press Secretaries) are “bullying him” and not giving him enough respect:

(VIA AP) […] “There’s a time and a place for everything and the time has come to stand up and be counted,” Karem told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “I’m tired of taking it. I want friendly relationships, but those who want respect, show respect. We have shown that man and shown the administration respect for six months, and all we’re getting in return is a lack of respect, derision and bullying.”

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer delivers the press briefing for June 26th:

.

[TRANSCRIPT] – 1:47 P.M. EDT:

MR. SPICER: Good afternoon. I want to say at the top that with respect to the Supreme Court decision on the President’s executive order, the President was honored by the 9-0 decision that allows him to use an important tool to protect our nation’s homeland.

His number-one responsibility as Commander-in-Chief is to keep the American people safe, and that’s exactly what this executive order does.

Sunday Talks: Sean Spicer Interviewed by Howard Kurtz…

In an interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz (MediaBuzz), White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer pushed back against the accusations of CNN’s most delicate whaaambulance passenger Jim Acosta, who complains about the lack of press briefings aired on television.

“It’s sad that he believes if it doesn’t occur on TV — I think some of these reporters are more interested in their YouTube clips than they are in getting factual news. You look at the number of questions asked over and over again just so the reporter can get a clip of themselves saying something or yelling at someone.”

Spicer rightly said the Press Corps posturing gets “repetitive” and tiresome. “To suggest that if it’s not on television is somewhat nonsensical. We engage with the press corps very robustly from early in the morning to late at night. The briefing is one small part of what this staff does.”
