Obamacare was never about providing more coverage or lowering the cost of said coverage.  Obamacare was constructed in 2009/2010 for one reason and one reason only, to shift the cost of healthcare away from the private sector and into the hands of government.

The cost of union healthcare coverage was rising at an unsustainable rate.  Union contracts were historically negotiated with exceptionally generous terms for Health Care Insurance plans and healthcare benefits as a whole.

In the short-term these contracts were great, however in the longer term these contracts were unsustainable.

Enter SEIU President Andy Stern, the 2009/2010 most frequent visitor to the White House.  Stern, as head of the Service Employees International Union, was in a desperate situation – the pension and retirement benefits of his unionized workers was beyond the scope of receipts to keep pace. (more…)

We Remember – December 23rd 2009 when Majority Leader Harry Reid passed a version of Obamacare through forced vote at 1:30am. The Senators could not leave, and for the two weeks previous were kept in a prolonged legislative session barred returning to their home-state constituencies. It was, by all measures and reality, a vicious display of forced ideological manipulation of the upper chamber; shared again as a constant reminder for what set the stage, and what followed. (more…)

I am also a multi-state licensed health insurance broker who continues to operate in an increasingly less competitive and more bureaucratically controlled system on both the federal and state level. During the last 20 years I have seen a lot of changes in the U.S. health care system. Some of them good (HIPAA) and some bad (Reagan’s EMTALA) the PPACA a.k.a. “Obamacare” etc.

During the last two decades I have read everything I could get my hands on pertaining to health care policy. I also spent the longest two weeks of my entire life reading the PPACA – Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act – shortly after it was passed into law on March 23, 2010. I have also appeared on television, radio and written expert commentary on health care policy on this blog and for professional business journals around the country. We knew back in November, that Marco Rubio advocates were going to try and proclaim that his legislative action defunded the insurance risk corridors within ObamaCare; and, as expected, Rubio advocates are indeed trying this approach.  It is total nonsense, and here’s why:

REPOST – Oh, we don’t support Obamacare they said. We’ll repeal Obamacare they said. We’ll replace Obamacare with sensible legislation they said. Well, that was prior to the mid-term 2014 election.

This story represents an example of how the GOPe manipulate the electorate into thinking the pea is under the middle shell, while their slight of hand is so experienced the pea isn’t actually under any….

If you don’t enmesh yourself in fully understanding the intricate details of how Washington DC is playing “UniParty” it is almost impossible to keep track of their maneuvers; this too is entirely by design.

As you read this, remember there is no actual federal budget in place. Despite Republicans in control of the House and Senate they never passed a budget for fiscal year 2016 which began October 1st last month. This was/is I.N.T.E.N.T.I.O.N.A.L.

This non-budget SPENDING aspect is critically important to understand because the GOPe forward priorities, which are in full alignment with the White House, are dependent on the electorate not understanding the difference between the budget process, and a process of continuing resolutions. (more…)

Yes, it’s that time of year when the “Omnibus” spending kicks into overdrive.  Washington DC loves it when the electorate are distracted with the Holiday Festivities.

This year we taxpayers get yet another round of usurpation from the Progressive Republican GOPe critters, led now by Paul Ryan, who infect the spending body.

SPEAKER Ryan and his team of spending enthusiasts is getting ready to “bail out”, meaning give, the ObamaCare health insurance carriers an influx of EVEN MORE money:

The Democrat and Republican politicans are certainly providing us with a bounty of shiny things to keep us occupied.  Meanwhile, perhaps it’s prudent to note we are entering the final stages of ObamaCare’s intended structure, the creation of “single-payer” solutions.

Back in campaign season 2012 through the following October 2013, we held the opinion that removal of ObamaCare was actually a reasonable expectation.  It was not until we discovered the U.S. Chamber of Commerce President, Tom Donohue, paying Mitch McConnell to retain ObamaCare that we realized how severely our belief was misguided.
As soon as we accepted this reality we were able to identify what was coming, why the postponements and delays, and ultimately what the end result was going to look like.
With a re-evaluated understanding, the nine stages of ObamaCare took on new meaning.
We are all currently distracted by so many things political; however, consider this a head’s up as we are about to move from ObamaCare Outrage Stage #6 to Stage #7….  The pain is soon to appear, and become an even bigger crisis. (more…)

A rare Sunday senate session provides a remarkable opportunity for the electorate to understand the deception behind the Republican Professional Political Class, the Decepticons.

As you reference the following Politico article, reflect upon the reality that the current House and Senate have larger Republican majorities than the Democrats held when ObamaCare was constructed in ’09 and passed in ’10.

Following Democrat losses in 2010 and 2012, when Harry Reid was the democrat majority leader, Reid changed the rules within the senate to allow his party agendas’ to pass with lower thresholds than traditional Senate Rules.

You might specifically remember the “reconciliation” maneuver which was used to allow ObamaCare to be created with a simple majority (50% +1) instead of 3/5th’s (60) [because Scott Brown won the special election 1/19/10 to stand as the 41st vote against the Dems].

Every legislative and parliamentary trick and strategy was deployed by Harry Reid to advance the agenda of his party.   President Obama defended the machinations by saying the electorate “doesn’t care about the process, they care about the outcome“. (more…)
