Ultimately research shows the IRS Targeting Scandal is a series of magnitudes greater than all other Obama scandals. The Federal Department of Justice weaponizing the IRS to go after political enemies within the U.S. electorate is far more serious than any other controversy.
Cleta Mitchell updates on hopes and concerns moving forward:
There’s a big difference between thinking of the IRS Targeting Scandal as originating within the IRS, and reconciling the origin as actually within the DOJ.
When you make that mental reconciliation, it all begins to make sense:
How the targeting originates with the Department of Justice is Outlined HERE. What substantive difference it makes is outlined HERE.
How can the DOJ conduct an investigation into unlawful aspects of the IRS targeting of specific 501(c)(4) groups, when the DOJ is the initiating body for the illegality they are seeking to investigate ?
A “Counter Sink” is a common method in manufacturing to allow the head of a screw, to sit below the surface of the surrounding material. This Politico interview is nothing but a veiled attempt to counter sink the head, Lois Lerner, below the controversy.

Politico interviews the primary corruptocrat within the IRS, Lois Lerner, for two hours. What they publish, as a result of that interview, is essentially the Wikipedia reference for the IRS scandal itself.
Fluff-N-Nutter.
Politico – […] Lois Lerner is toxic — and she knows it. But she refuses to recede into anonymity or beg for forgiveness for her role in the IRS tea party-targeting scandal. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” Lerner said in her first press interview since the scandal broke 16 months ago. “I’m proud of my career and the job I did for this country.”
[…] “Regardless of whatever else happens, I know I did the best I could under the circumstances and am not sorry for anything I did,” the 63-year-old said.
Flanked by her husband and two personal attorneys Lois Lerner is interviewed by Politico. The first opportunity for a question was obviously a ‘swing and a miss’, wiffle.
If she did nothing wrong, then why exactly does she believe she is in the current position? What exactly are these “circumstances” she found herself in? Nah, those questions too deep or something.
Moving on… (more…)
We first discovered it on June 28th 2014 as an outcome of another research project we were working on. We have tried to draw as much attention to it as we can. Thankfully the Daily Caller is closing in, The Wall Street Journal is stumbling in that direction, and The American Center for Law and Justice’s Jay Sekulow has finally connected the dots.
How can the DOJ conduct an investigation into unlawful aspects of the IRS targeting of specific 501(c)(4) groups, when the DOJ is the initiating body for the illegality they are seeking to investigate ?
The IRS scandal is NOT about the IRS. Yes, the IRS did indeed target conservative groups; however, they were NOT the originating entity in the overall plan to create a list of targets.
The U.S. Department of Justice was the originating governmental agency who constructed the plan to make a target list and then weaponize various government agencies against those on the list.

As said, we stumbled onto the DOJ trail of evidence back in June when we reviewed one of very few disclosures given by Lois Lerner’s attorney William Taylor III. In a moment of clarity, which was not caught by the interviewer, William Taylor responded to questioning by stating that his client, Lois Lerner, was merely responding to a request from the Department of Justice, when she sent confidential tax files to the DOJ.
Taylor said Lerner didn’t know and sent them because Justice requested the documents: “She [understood] the donor information on Schedule B had been removed. In some cases, we later learned, it may not have been.” (link)
Lois Lerner sent the DOJ 1.1 million pages of 501(c)(4) tax filing data. Including a very specific set of “33 Schedule B attachment files”. The Schedule B’s were specific to Large Conservative 501(c)(4) groups operating and organized to oppose the agenda of President Obama. The Schedule B’s include the donor lists of specific people and sub-groups attached to the 501(c)(4).
In essence the donor group or names of every person who supported the larger conservative group. (more…)
As we have been saying for months, if you peel back the concentric layers that make up the IRS scheme you will find the DOJ was the entity compiling an illegal targeting list, not the IRS. We outlined the initial discovery trail HERE, and why it matters HERE.
That’s why the Eric Holder DOJ is working diligently to cover-up their own verifiable attachment to the entire process. In this latest mistake the DOJ was asking congress to intentionally leak material given to the House Oversight Committee so they could produce a media response and get out ahead of the story.

WASHINGTON DC – A lead House Republican is accusing the Justice Department Office of Public Affairs of improperly trying to coordinate with House Democrats on the release of subpoenaed documents in the IRS investigation.
Justice Department Director of Public Affairs Brian Fallon (pictured left) called the House Oversight Committee Friday evening and mistakenly spoke to Republican staff thinking he was speaking to Democrats, according to a spokesman for Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).
In that call, Fallon said his agency was about to turn over some IRS documents. He stated that he was not being allowed to release the material directly to the media, but that he wanted to get it into the hands of certain reporters “before the [Republican] Majority” had the chance to share it. That’s according to a letter Issa sent yesterday to Attorney General Eric Holder.
“The [Justice Department’s Fallon] then asked the [Republican] Committee employee if the Committee would agree to release the material to selected reporters and thereby allow the [Justice] Department to comment publicly on it.”–Issa to Holder (more…)
Delay, Deny and Non-Delivery
Peel it all back and you find: The Department of Justice used the IRS 501(c)(3) information to create a “Red List”, a targeting list. That list was compiled from the illegally shared IRS “Schedule B filings” of conservative groups and Jewish advocacy groups the DOJ viewed as a threat to advancing the Obama agenda. The Schedule “B’s” gave a detail list of supporters and donors antithetical to the current administration.[Outlined HERE and HERE]
What’s happening now is a massive institutional cover-up between the IRS and DOJ to keep that “Red List” targeting program secret.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The IRS says it has lost emails from five more workers who are part of congressional investigations into the treatment of conservative groups that applied for tax exempt status.

The tax agency said in June that it could not locate an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that processes applications for tax-exempt status. The revelation set off a new round of investigations and congressional hearings.
On Friday, the IRS said it has also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe, including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status.
The agency blamed computer crashes for the lost emails. In a statement, the IRS said it found no evidence that anyone deliberately destroyed evidence. (read more)
Oh what a tangled web is weaved…. How is it possible for the DOJ to be investigating an agency they themselves have colluded with to target political opponents?
(Via The Washington Post) Congress had little opportunity to debate the Internal Revenue Service’s missing-e-mail controversy while on break during the past month, but lawmakers will have plenty to talk about when they return next week.
One question likely to come up is why the IRS wiped out Lois Lerner’s Blackberry shortly after congressional staffers interviewed the then-IRS official about suspected targeting of conservative groups.
So far, the IRS has provided no answer.
The issue came to light last month after U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the IRS to explain its efforts to recover emails that went missing when the former official’s hard drive crashed in 2011. (more…)
Based on our research those emails contain communication between the IRS and the Department of Justice. As we have drilled down the trail, it’s almost certain the communication was about specifically targeting the groups created by the 33 illegally distributed “Schedule B’s”.

Those Schedule B’s created a list of entities to target. Those entities became the subject of various agency scrutiny beyond the IRS. [Agencies like EEO, Dept of Labor, ATF and OSHA.] Targeting coordinated by the DOJ

WASHINGTON DC – A Justice Department official admitted that former IRS official Lois Lerner’s apparently missing emails actually exist on a backup server, but the government doesn’t plan to retrieve them.
“A Department of Justice attorney told a Judicial Watch attorney on Friday that it turns out the federal government backs up all computer records in case something terrible happens in Washington and there’s a catastrophe, so the government can continue operating,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream.
“But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system,” Fitton continued, paraphrasing the DOJ official. (read more)

Of all the various “scandals” that emanate from the current administration the single most alarming, and by consequence the single most dangerous, stem from the DOJ weaponizing the IRS. Every single known fact points to a singular logical conclusion.

I know the general sight of an almost two hour video is alarming, let along a congressional hearing….. Yikes.
…… but if you forward the video to the 1:04:00 mark I think you might enjoy more than several minutes of the back and forth.
