FOX NEWS:  “We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president,” Fox News said in the statement, adding this gem: “A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”

Fox News has announced the candidate debate lineup and again there are two tiers.  Eight candidates in the 9:00pm “Top Tier” debate, and four candidates in the 7:00pm “Lower Tier” (kiddie table) debate:

Donald Trump interview today with Michael Savage:

Candidate Donald J Trump will be holding two events in Iowa today.  The first in Marshalltown at 6:00pm (Eastern), the second in Iowa City at 8:30pm (Eastern)

Mr. Trump is anticipated to have a few people joining him to give their endorsements and show their support.  The first event is at the Marshalltown Community School District Roundhouse Gymnasium at 6:00pm:

Another series of polls today from CNN/ORC (full pdf below), and from NBC (Iowa) show a convergence of statistical support.  Candidate Donald Trump continues to solidify his lead and the base of his support grows ever more firm:

(Via CNN) Washington – Donald Trump has hit a new high in the race for the Republican nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, with more than 4-in-10 Republican voters nationwide now saying they back the billionaire.

(Via U.S.A. Today) Donald Trump picked up an endorsement Tuesday from a prominent evangelical, Jerry Falwell Jr.

In announcing his endorsement of the businessman’s presidential bid, the president of Liberty University described Trump as “a successful executive and entrepreneur, a wonderful father and a man who I believe can lead our country to greatness again.”

There is a Super-PAC called “Stand for Truth” registered out of Lexington Kentucky headed by a guy named Eric Lycan.  [Here’s the link – search box “Stand for Truth”]

Mr. Eric Lycan was Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s lawyer during his re-election campaign against Matt Bevin.  Lycan also has deep tentacles within the entire GOPe apparatus, including the Chamber of Commerce. (more…)

Politics is a risky business – a deliberate business – with very specific decisions; and as a direct consequence when you cross a particular line in opposition you point yourself in a very specific direction.   Candidate Cruz has also now affirmed himself as a rigid ideologue.

At 6:30pm today, as a direct result of an official campaign position and not one stemming from a Super-PAC, candidate Ted Cruz officially put himself onto a singular path which leads to either:

A) his own victory, or B) a later endorsement of Jeb Bush/Marco Rubio.

The latest New Hampshire Polling (full pdf below) comes from the Boston Herald and affirms the previous polling from CNN, Fox, Q-PAC and PPP.  All the latest NH polls converging on the same essential numbers.

Donald Trump has now extended his lead (33%) in the Granite State to 19 points over the second place Ted Cruz at 14%.  Angry man Kasich comes in third at 12% the rest are in single digits.  Rubio has slipped.
