WASHINGTON DC – Tracy Martin, the father of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, visited Capitol Hill on Wednesday to urge lawmakers to work to prevent the untimely death of more black children.

“To have his name slandered and demonized, I think as a father it’s really important that my message to the world, we won’t let this verdict sum up who Trayvon was,” Martin said at the first meeting of the newly-formed Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys. “I vow to do everything in my power to not give up the fight for him.” […] (more…)

Earlier today the family rescued by George Zimmerman made the decision to back out of a previously scheduled press conference.  Why?  The Seminole City Sheriff’s Office said,  “The family have expressed to us that they are not comfortable doing media interviews at this time and they continue to ask for privacy.”  O’Mara said they were afraid of the repercussions if they were to go on TV and call George Zimmerman a hero.   Oh, and just to keep it real….they’ve also changed their phone number.
Meanwhile…..The Martin family feels free to attend public rallies, make TV appearances, and even speak on Capitol Hill.
Here…Mark O’Mara addresses skeptics who think the rescue was a public relations stunt.

“I will acknowledge it was coincidental four or five days after the verdict, but it was not set up, or staged. Really, do you think we would’ve set up a family of four on the side (of the road), destroying an SUV?” said O’Mara.

Thomas Battles coordinated several groups to assist in the campaign. Local Organizing for America (OFA) leaders were paired with local NAACP leaders, and the Community Relations Service led, fully indoctrinated students called, “Dream Defenders” were used as unwitting foot soldiers. A Web site called The Dirty had another woman’s story, another round of sex texts, and another picture of Mr. Weiner’s penis. The startling news was that this new episode apparently took place last summer, only a few months before Mr. Weiner was to begin another run at public office. Would it surprise you to know that Sybrina Fulton and Eric Holder will be speaking together at the annual Urban League conference in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
What’s that?… ‘conflict of interest’? Pfffftt. You are ridiculous. What’s wrong with the Head of the Federal Department of Justice meeting with, speaking with, and advancing the cause of, the person who stands to financially gain from his federal investigation of the man who caused her son’s death?
I mean it’s not like he’s sitting on the couch in her apartment giving the state police an anonymous pre-scripted statement about what took place on February 26th 2012 or anything…..  No, wait….
(AP) — The mother of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will speak in Philadelphia at the National Urban League’s annual conference, which will focus on civil rights, voting rights and job creation.
The four-day event, which begins Wednesday, comes less than a month after the Supreme Court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act and not long after the man who shot Martin was acquitted in the racially charged case. (more…)

Blacks and Hispanics together accounted for 98 percent of all gun assailants. Forty-nine of every 50 muggings and murders in the Big Apple were the work of black or Hispanic criminals.
New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly confirms Mac Donald’s facts. Blacks and Hispanics commit 96 percent of all crimes in the city, he says, but only 85 percent of the stop-and-frisks are of blacks and Hispanics. (more…)
