Marie Harf joined Chris Matthews on MSNBC yesterday to advance an ideology we have actually heard before. When discussing radical Islam, and more specifically ISIS, according to Harf:

“We’re killing a lot of them and we’re going to keep killing more of them. So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium to longer term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs”.

Now pause for a moment, turn your head at a 25° angle, cross your eyes, pretend she is in direct eye contact with yourself…. and ask the obvious:  “Dear Ms. Harf, if that be true – then why in sam kittens is President Obama asking for AN AUTHORIZATION OF MILITARY FORCE” ? {{Mic Drop}} (more…)

I’m sure there will be more from Egypt’s Fattah al-Sisi in the next few days, he is not a person prone to knee-jerk emotional responses to crisis. Research into al-Sisi, and following him for several years, shows he thinks carefully, calls for counsel, takes immediate advice and then makes a strong decision and sticks with it.
That said, as you read this I must point out something in this Reuters example which highlights the bias inherent in Western media that slips past unless you have followed the nuances and details of any event/story. Check out this statement:

“U.S. backed government“, who does Reuters think they’re kidding?
The Obama administration openly disparages al-Sisi, talks negatively about him, spoke angrily against the removal of Muslim Brotherhood’s Morsi and didn’t even call Sisi to congratulate him on his overwhelming election victory. But Reuters says “U.S. backed”, because NOW it fits the narrative a strong Obama needs, unreal. I digress. (more…)

The people and groups now identified as “ISIS in Libya” are the same people and groups that Hillary Clinton, Samantha Power and Susan Rice determined back in 2011 to be “rebels” worthy of weapons, missiles and MANPADS to advance their cause.

The Coptic Christians executed today in Libya spent their last moments in prayer.

(Reuters) – Islamic State released a video on Sunday purporting to show the militant group beheading 21 Egyptian Christians kidnapped in Libya.
The Egyptians, dressed in orange jump suits, were beheaded after being forced down on the ground. The video appeared on the Twitter feed of a website that supports Islamic State. (more…)

ANOTHER – “bunch of random folks in a cafe’ in Copenhagen”

[…]“The cafe in northern Copenhagen, known for its jazz concerts, was hosting an event titled “Art, blasphemy and the freedom of expression” when the shots were fired. Niels Ivar Larsen, one of the speakers at the event, told TV2 that at least two people were wounded. (link)

DENMARK – One person is reportedly dead and others are injured after a shooting at a meeting on free speech where a controversial Danish cartoonist was speaking.
Danish media reported a cafe in Copenhagen was peppered with around 30 bullet holes in the shooting. (more…)

Given the latest series of hit pieces coming from the liberal media, it’s obvious who they fear and who they support. Scott Walker comes under fire from the Washington Post, New York Times and CNN. Meanwhile Jeb Bush is praised.
However, the latest New York Times ‘hit piece’ is a construct of intentionally false information as the Weekly Standard points out:

NYT […] “All of that came as a distinct surprise to Claudia Felske, a member of the faculty at East Troy High School who actually was named a Wisconsin Teacher of the Year in 2010. In a phone interview, Felske said she still remembers when she got the news at a “surprise pep assembly at my school.” As well as the fact that those layoffs happened because Walker cut state aid to education“…. President Obama is doing this stuff now just to poke antagonism toward those Americans who oppose his agenda.   His team is trying to antagonize.  Apparently the parking spot shooting draws Obama’s concern and attention because the three victims were Muslim.

Last October, the Willamette Weekly newspaper published an exposé showing how the governor’s fiancé, Cynthia Hayes, was taking money as a private consultant to environment groups and then pushing their policies in her public role as “First Lady” of the state. Most infamously, she ordered state employees to follow a policy she was being paid $25,000 by an advocacy group to promote. Apparently, some of the money also wasn’t reported on tax returns. (link)

OREGON – Long-time Democratic Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber on Friday announced his resignation amid allegations his fiancee used her relationship with him to enrich herself.
In a lengthy statement released Friday, Kitzhaber said he broke no laws and said his resignation would be effective on Wednesday.  “Nonetheless, I understand that I have become a liability to the very institutions and policies to which I have dedicated my career and, indeed, my entire adult life,” he said.
The decision capped a wild week in which Kitzhaber seemed poised to step down, then changed his mind, but ultimately bowed to calls from legislative leaders that he quit the state’s top job. (more…)

WASHINGTON DC – The U.S. government obtained intelligence on the possible location of American captives held by ISIS in Syria last year, but Obama administration officials waited nearly a month to launch a rescue mission because of concerns that the intelligence wasn’t conclusive and some of it had come from a foreign service, U.S. and British officials told The Daily Beast.
British officials, as well as private security contractors, said they were frustrated by Washington’s hesitance to give the go-ahead for a rescue attempt, which eventually was carried out on July 4, 2014, by which time the hostages had been moved. The White House has a strategy of defeating Benjamin Netanyahu by instilling fear in the Israeli electorate of losing the U.S. as a protective ally.   According to the apparent logic – if Obama casts deep enough aspersions toward Israel’s  leadership, the Israeli people will fear re-electing Netanyahu.
However, the plan appears to be failing as polling indicates the people within the jewish state have caught on to the manipulation and don’t trust Obama.

Three in four Israelis say that they do not trust President Barack Obama to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, according to a recent poll conducted by the Times of Israel. (more…)
