USA TODAY – It also follows intense criticism over the treatment of veterans at VA hospitals, including reports that officials are trying to cover up evidence of long wait times and that some veterans have died while awaiting treatment.
In his weekend radio address, Obama said the nation must work harder to ensure that military veterans get the benefits they’ve earned.
“They’ve done their duty,” Obama said, “and they ask nothing more than that this country does ours.”
The president is not scheduled to meet with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, with whom the president has had a difficult relationship.

Unlike the socially hip meme toward the missing/kidnapped Nigerian Schoolgirls, and unlike a black Harvard Professor arrested by police -and quickly defined by the White House as “acting stupidly”-; and unlike a 17-year-old disciplinary diversion student killed in the act of attacking a Hispanic man, the plight of an American citizen’s wife -soon to be hanged merely for being Christian- does not rise to the level of being #hashtag worthy. Heck, it doesn’t even rise to the level of State Dept. ‘Give-A-Damn’.
The remarkable aspect -beyond the obvious- is actually American Daniel Wani asking the State Department for help and being told to go away. Maybe he’s the wrong kind of black man; a Christian kind.
(Via Fox News) An American citizen whose pregnant wife has been sentenced to death in Sudan for refusing to renounce her Christian faith told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Friday that his wife is staying strong in her convictions despite her ordeal.
Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, 27, whose Christian husband Daniel Wani holds American citizenship, has been held in a Sudanese prison along with her 20-month old son for more than three months. (more…)
The White House legal advisor who framed the administrations legal references for drone killing of American citizens is due to be confirmed without allowing his drone memos to be reviewed prior to confirmation vote. Yeah, we have a problem with that….
WASHINGTON DC – Bolstered by the promised public release of a secret legal memo, Senate Democrats are ready to approve a top federal judgeship for a former Obama administration official who helped formulate the justification for the drone killings of suspected American terrorists overseas.
The Senate was expected Thursday to approve David Barron to join the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in Boston.
Barron cleared a pivotal hurdle Wednesday when senators voted 52-43 to end opponents’ efforts to derail the nomination. In that roll call, Barron was opposed by every voting Republican and two Democrats, Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. (more…)
(Via MEMRI) Muhammad Badi, General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, made an address to the court on May 18, 2014, rejecting the accusations brought against him and other members of the movement. In footage from the trial posted on the Internet, Badie says: “We have fought only against the Jews… yet now we are being accused of conspiring with Hamas against the Egyptian people. This is an absolute lie.”
Following are excerpts:
Muhammad Badi (standing before the court): Assalam Alaykum. Allah’s blessings and prayers upon you.

Then contrast his reasoning against a half black President, raised by white grandparents, who attended an exclusive private and affluent school in Hawaii, then Ivy league colleges, but is somehow more authentic….
I swear the progressives just can’t see through their own hypocrisy. They are so ideologically dependent on hating the “other”, they can’t even see the insufferable foolishness.
GIVE IT A DAMN REST – I’m sick and tired of being told we’re racist just because we disagree with policies of this President. Come up with a new argument will ya’ !!
MARYLAND – Attorney General Eric Holder, who has suggested that critics of the Obama administration are motivated by race and referred to America as a “nation of cowards” on race issues while blasting Americans who resist more gun control laws, suggested that those opposed to President Barack Obama’s policy agenda of “fundamental transformation” are quietly prejudiced.
In his Saturday commencement address at Morgan State University, a historically black university in Maryland, Holder said that even though there are no more “separate but equal” laws on the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision, the “vestiges of state-sanctioned discrimination continue to reverberate across the country even today.” (more…)
Libya is on “the brink of civil war,” Col. Mukhtar Farnana, a prominent commander from Zintan, said in a televised statement, which he said was from the command of the self-declared Libyan National Army. (link)
In March of 2011 Hillary Clinton, Samantha Power and Susan Rice, together with President Obama, made a specific decision to arm a group of unknown “rebels” in Benghazi Libya. Those “rebels” were al-Qaeda faction Islamists.
Both the CIA and the Pentagon were against the decision. Obama and Clinton ignored their advice and chose to send small arms, weapons and portable missiles to the region.
Samantha Power, Susan Rice and President Obama – Take us to WAR in Libya
Today the Libyan National Army tried yet again to engage the radical Islamists and crack down on the lawless Eastern Tribal area. However, the al-Qaeda militants are using those very same U.S. provided weapons (from Hillary and Co.) to fight. Yes, there’s an Irony there.
After the initial attack in Benghazi, the fighting quickly spread West to Tripoli where various elements of the Eastern Libyan islamists movement have embedded ready to start a civil war.
These developments should be watched very closely. If things escalate, the White House will be *tweeking* because of the political risk….
Tripoli, Libya (CNN) — Fierce fighting swept across the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Sunday, a short time after armed men stormed the country’s interim parliament. The violence appeared to be some of the worst since the 2011 revolution that ousted longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi.
At least two people were killed and 66 were injured, according to the Health Ministry.
Residents of Tripoli rushed home Sunday evening. One Libyan who spoke to CNN reported seeing shop owners quickly closing up.
State media LANA reported that lawmakers had already left for the General National Congress when that attack happened as the session was over for the day. Armed men blocked the road that led to the parliament, LANA said, blocking members’ access to their offices. (more…)
